If Claws of the Smilodon was an Omegaverse or A/B/O AU, I imagine Creed Reader has never felt like a pup, so therefore, they have no pup instincts and have neglected and possibly almost non-existent scent glands. The teens can hardly pick up their scent and can't tell what their gender is or who their pack is, while the adults smell hardly anything about them, no friends, no parents, nothing.

After the Incident, the X-Teens are trying to take care of Reader, asking questions like "when is your Urge period coming up?" and "do you need anything to help for your heat?" and "will you need someone to stay with you?", only to be met by a confused, suspicious, and upset Reader:

"What the f*ck do you mean my Urge period?! What the h*ll is THAT?!" "My HEAT?! I BEG your PARDON? Are you insane?!" "Ehy would I want ANY OF YOU to stay with me?! YOU are the reason I'm stuck here!"

Eventually, after doing a few small tests on Creed Reader, the platonic yandere X-Men discover that they have... no pup instincts. None. Nothing.

And it suddenly makes them all feel a horror at how they've been treating Reader, who, according to their newest discovery and what they know about them, is essentially a pup who has no idea what is healthy for them or their instincts, because they have next to none. They don't purr or nuzzle anyone even when under drugs or sedation, they recoil from soft words or any signs of guilt, they sleep by themself, they have no ones scent on them to claim them as family or friend, and they're living on their own in some shoddy cabin in the middle of the woods-

Suffice to say, the adults freak out over this.

Okay, okay. Reader is a pup who's been severely neglected by them, by their own dad, by both groups, and who has no clue that them not having any instincts or a scent is unhealthy. This is Very Much Not Good. At All.

So now they have to try and approach the topic of pup behavior with them, which Reader finds "weird", "creepy", and "in poor taste".

Yeah. This is NOT going to be easy.

I have come, with something!

So, imagine reader is a young adult instead of the teen. They already gone through the system, was never adopted, so they have a lot of resentment to parents and such. And they actually work in the school as an assistant teacher. The team thing happens and when reader realizes they were being used, they quit, and after, cut out anything showing they’re a mutant. Maybe filling the claws way down to look like normal nails, or if it’s like wolverine’s, they use a rock to break it.

How would everyone react to seeing reader after that, either fresh from their self mutilation, or some days after?

Oooooo... Okay, okay, that's interesting! I still plan to have Reader as a teen in the main au, but Reader as a young adult? Not bad, if I say so. I'm going to count this as an au of the Smilodon AU, because I have an idea for how Reader finding all of this out goes, but... I really like this ask. So good job! Let's do it-

If the others, the X-Men and Brotherhood, saw Reader like that... I think they'd feel nauseous. Light-headed. Sick. Because their... whatever Reader is to them, is missing parts of their mutation, the parts that were part of them. Their claws... they're filed down, hardly there anymore.. Their fangs... not near as long or sharp as they used to be. And the small bits of fur or fluff that used to dot their arms and legs... they're gone, leaving the skin underneath. This isn't what they wanted. They wanted Reader as their, well... okay, they had used Reader. They didn't want to, in the end, and the teens wanted to stop it, but- They just couldn't. They tried. The adults... they feel remorse. A bit scared. Because now they know Reader can and will harm themself (and likely had before). When Xavier looks deeper into Reader's thoughts, he sees their inner-self, and it isn't a monster or a beast or an evil person... it's a scared, lonely, hurt child, who wants love, but has been denied it so long that they don't trust anyone. And after what all they've done... Reader doesn't even trust them anymore...

Xavier, Scott, and Jean would try to speak rationally with Reader (their version of rational). It goes out the window real quick when Reader's thoughts turn darker, sadder, spiraling. Scott wants to know why Reader did what they did, because he's sorry, and wants them to know they care. He wants them to see it their way. But he mostly wants to make things better between them. Jean wants to help Reader, and comfort them, but now there's a literal mental wall between them, full of bitterness. She wants to reach them,, to stop them from doing this to themself... Xavier wants to convince Reader they meant no harm, and to give them and the X-Men a proper chance to make it up to them. He knows that Reader will be hard to convince. But they have to hold out hope. If worse came to worse... they can try and move Reader in with them, albeit unwillingly. It might be the only way to keep an eye on them and their health...

Kurt, Kitty, Ororo, and Beast regret getting Reader's hopes up, only for the truth to come out about why they started trying to befriend them in the first place. Seeing Reader remove parts of their mutation, leaving them almost defenseless... Kurt feels scared. He has a visible mutation as well, and while he hid his with the holo watch, Reader didn't have something like that. And they got rid of parts of themself! It's... it's so hard to look at... Kitty wants to hug Reader, wants forgiveness. She's so sorry about what happened, she wants them to know that! But... why would Reader hurt themself? Are they hiding any other wounds? What If they hurt themself again?... Storm is doing her best to stay calm and motherly, which sadly doesn't get her very far. She knows they've hurt Reader, and it doesn't feel good, for Reader or for them. But they need to own up to it. The best they can do is apologize, and hope Reader forgives them, or at least doesn't hurt themself further. Perhaps getting Hank to talk with them would be better... Hank would try and help them, would try to talk with Reader. He wants to provide therapy, or at least get them to have a medical exam. He needs to know how bad they hurt themself. But they're not budging. He doesn't want Charles to force Reader. No. But if they want to help them, they need them under their care. And sadly, Reader does not want to be under their care or protection after everything...

Rogue, Evan, and Logan feel guilty. They know they didn't trust Reader at first. That they didn't want to give them the benefit of the doubt. But seeing how bad it's hurt them, that they'd rather hurt themself than them... It's a tough pill to swallow. Reader already had trust issues. They already didn't have a high opinion of themself. And they just made those a whole lot worse. Rogue is truly sorry, wanting to have Reader stay with them so they don't hurt themself or disappear. She's scared that if they look away from them, they'll be gone. That Reader will leave, or worse, be dead. Evan wants to apologize, but he also wants Reader to give them a second chance. Even his aunt is in on it, and maybe Reader would believe two of them over just one? He really wants them to not give up on them... Logan knows he hasn't handled knowing Reader very well. He knew about some of their past, and wrote them off as a bad influence. And they weren't. They're the cub of his "brother" (he doesn't know if that fuzzy maniac is his brother or not), but they've never even met the guy, let alone know who he was. It wasn't fair of him to get mad with them, to treat them as a potential threat. Seeing them harm themself though... It makes him realize that they had every chance to go after all of them, but instead they turned on themself. And for that... he realizes he shouldn't have been been hard. So cold.

The Brotherhood teens want to throw up. Their favorite assistant teacher, the one who tended to see the best in them, is missing parts of themself, or has cut them down. And it scares the cr*p out of them. This is their favorite teacher! Their go-to adult in school when things go wrong or people won't leave them alone! And they've. Hurt. Themself. They didn't want to use them! They swear! But... they're not sure this is an easy fix. This isn't as simple as saying sorry. This had consequences, and they've (mostly) learned that one has to own up to them, no matter what they be. Lance doesn't want to imagine Reader leaving them. They're the one adult he trusts. And now they're scared, or at least wary, of all of them. The X-Teens are in the same boat, so while he hates to say it, he might have to work with them to get Reader to stay, and hopefully heal and regrow their claws and fangs and fuzz. Todd feels sick. He didn't realize they could do that. They could actually remove parts of their mutation? Just like that? Thinking about it gives him shivers. Who would give their powers up? Who'd willingly hurt themself? He understands why they'd do it, he just wishes they hadn't. Fred wants to hug Reader and cry. His favorite adult (who's only a few years older than all of them) just hurt themself. And is upset with them. And is sad. He doesn't want them to be upset! Or hurt! He's trying to apologize, and is on the same boat as Lance to get the X-Teens help in apologizing, if it means Reader might forgive them. Pietro knows what they did. He knows it was wrong. Is he sorry?... Yes. But he still wants Reader with them. Seeing them they way they are... he still thinks they should be with them, even more now. They need help. His dad can get help, okay? H*ck, if they have to, they can pull Sabretooth in, okay?! He just... he doesn't want Reader to hurt themself even more. They're nice, and pay attention to him and his sister, good attention. How can they let them hurt? Wanda is asking Reader why they did it. She wants to know Reader's perspective on this, on why they did it, how they feel about them all. She doesn't want to hurt them, and she won't, but Reader needs help. She will not have her favorite adult die on her or hurt themself, so they'd better hurry up and go to her father or Xavier and get them involved, otherwise, they're going to have a problem. Mystique feels for Reader. Being distrusted by everyone. Having mutations that single them out. It hurts. It hurts her even more knowing she has hurt Reader with her actions. But this proves to her Reader needs a team. A group. She's grateful Reader hasn't taken their anger or hurt out on them, like their father might have. She knows they deserve it. But... she isn't sure if they should turn to... the X-Men... blegh... or to Magneto... who she's mad with... And unfortunately, those are her two options. The joys of being an adult, being responsible... Hopefully they can reach Reader before it could be too late...

• Wolverine as a dad is protective. He isn't letting you near anything sharp, but he would teach you about wild animals and different plants, especially if you're a feral mutant like him, or a very curious, nature-oriented kid

• He loves you. He saw you as a baby, he held you, he fed you, he spent the night and day helping you sleep and playing with you, he adores you. He adores all of his kids, but he's a bit more worried about you, possibly due to.seeing you grow up

• He finds it cute when you dress like him, be it in flannels or white t-shirts or in yellow or black. Jokingly calls you honey badger, or little badger, he scoops you into bear hugs and will nuzzle you lovingly

• No one bullies you for long. The moment he hears about it, he's dealing with the best or brats who did so, he's giving their parent/s a warning, and telling any school or camp that the next time they let that happen, he is making it personal, and will be having more than words with them...

• He tries to keep.l Sabretooth from being near you, but that usually fails. At least he's a fun uncle (when not actively trying to kidnap your dad, which he disguises as impromptu field trips and vacations-)

• Sabretooth is happily letting you play with his hair or look at his claws, and will encourage you to hunt and play in the woods and yard to your heart's content. Kills off any snakes in the area, he is not risking them biting you, and sets up small cameras to spy around and make sure you (and Logan) aren't stolen or try to escape

• Will cook your favorite dinner, or Logan's. He happily eats it as well, and will listen to you talk about your day, what birds you saw, how you found it funny your dad was sleeping so much, how you collected a few new rocks... He doesn't mind playing games, especially if it exercises your mutation or gets Logan to play along with being a family...

• Keeps Weapon X away from you. He might have let them mess with him and his brother, but he sure as h*ll is not letting them get their hands on you. You are his nibling, his brother's own tiny runt, and he will not let anyone hurt you as long as he's alive. Will eat anyone who tries to hurt you, or toss them off a cliff, or feed them to a few hungry wolves or lions...

• He hugs you, picks you up, cuddles I'm front of the fire, and happily tells you stories of when he and Logan were kids and were out in nature, or a few less... gory... Weapon X stories... or even how he tends to beat your dad in fights. He strives strives be your favorite uncle, and will not accept anyone else being it

• Wolverine and Sabretooth still fight, Logan won't willingly stay, Victor won't let him go without a fight, and they can get very scary... but they won't do it in front of you. You don't need to be scared of them, or feel unsafe around them. So they'll tolerate the other going against their wishes, if only for your sake and innocence...

Scott and the other teenagers (maybe some of the adults) notice that the reader looks very tired and that he hasn't slept and has very deep dark circles under his eyes and sometimes the reader ends up falling asleep and some of them think that the reader is having a problem at home or some personal problem,

but in fact the reader stays up all night watching a series or (reading a very good blog called Honeycomb Thoughts)

(Reader goes wide eyed, backs up, and says they don't want to talk about it. Ever. The yans wonder what could be so dastardly or traumatizing that Reader won't talk to them about what's bothering them. So I just randomly remembered this thing I thought would be cute to have with the X-Men.

Back when I was in elementary school, they did this thing called "Donuts with Dads" and "Muffins with Moms" where moms and dads could come on the respective day once a year and eat a treat with their kid and look at their little drawings on the wall and all that sweet stuff. If your mom or dad couldn't make it, other family of the same gender could come and if you had none, then a friend could "share" their parent with you for the day. It was always super fun and I think that was some of the best days in school for me.

Imagine Itty bitty kindergartener mutant Reader shyly handing Storm a flyer for "Muffins with Mom" and asking if she could come in that day and eat with them? If she wants to?

Imagine Reader bringing in the flyer for "Donuts with Dads" and all the guys fighting over who gets to go because they have like 8 father figures and only one adult per kid is allowed to come and there is NO REASON to bring out the claws for this Logan!

Storm is definitely coming to Muffins With Mom, she's there for Evan and for Reader and the other X-Teens, and she is helping them with decorating the muffins, she's playing dolls and dress up and dinosaurs with the kids, and she's looking at all of their drawings and kissing their foreheads and telling them what talented little artists they are!

Logan, The Professor, and Hank are all fighting over which one of them can show up for Donuts With Dad. It ends up as a race against time for them to reach the school, and all of them are doing it in a sneaky sneak way (or not). Logan's riding his motorcycle and possibly breaking traffic laws, Xavier is riding in his limo or car and "convinces" everyone he is needed desperately elsewhere, and Hank is either running all the way there (go P.E. coach Hank!) or using the jet. Somehow they all arrived at the same time, and now they're playing the dread game... rock, paper, scissors! Logan and Hank are not impressed. But alas, they were beaten to this event by... Sabretooth! Who decided eh, he likes sweets, the kids are kinda cute and need to cause chaos, and he's their uncle/dad/other feral, so why not?

Mystique and Erik vowed to show up for the next Muffins With Mon and Donuts With Dad events... but keep getting thwarted by every red light in the city, pedestrians in the road, and one very persistent person who wants them to sign 85 petitions... (Charles and Hank at work here, people)

(Kindergarten was probably one of the only years I enjoyed elementary school. Every other year had either: a bad/annoyed teacher, no friends, bullying, or all three) (thank Gourd for homeschool!)

stupid idea for the QPR

alternate scenario of Scott's friend au Where Jean ends up managing to successfully hang out with Reader and realize "oh hey you're not that bat actually"

One thing leads to another now Reader's sitting around confused as they're third wheeling this confusing Will they Won't they relationship that Scott and Jean have going on

(Hehehe!) (I don't know if you want this canon or not, but let's try this out for a moment)

Jean hadn't realized Reader was so... nice. Polite. Soothing.

They don't care about her being a telepath, or Scott shooting lasers from his eyes, or that they're heroes. They even find it fascinating!

Reader draws characters based on her and Scott, and she can't help but giggle at it. Their OCs are a couple who are very sweet, and fight crime together, along with the other enhanced beings they know.

Of course, when Scott brings up letting them tag along on a date so they won't be lonely, well... she agrees.

Which leads to them at a diner, sipping on a milkshake for two together, with Reader drawing in their sketchbook, taking occasional sips from their own milkshake.

Jean and Scott like strawberry, a sweet flavor with a pink color, a symbol of their powers and love for each other. Reader's is chocolate, decadent and rich, like the sweetie they are.

"This is nice," Scott murmurs, holding her hand in his. He smiles at her, sheepish and full of love.

Jean smiles back.

"Yeah, it is."

They both drag Reader into a hug, who startles before accepting it.

"I finished drawing Laser and Phoenix... did y'all want to see them?"

"YES!"

Okay, okay. Idea time (excuse this dive into the deep dark), what if, for an alternate A/B/O Parent AU or Reader-is-Logan's-kid AU, Reader found out ahead of time they were related to Wolverine, but befriended him and the teens before they ever saw his picture, and now feel panic and self-hatred because they think he didn't want them, and/or has amnesia, and Reader doesn't blame him if he did leave them or didn't want them, but now they can't stand themself for simply existing, or the people who did this to him.

This Reader, from an early age, was being trained by a friend of their adopted guardian, who was secretly working for S.H.I.E.L.D or Weapon X, only for Reader to find out and turn against them, running away in the process, but not before they snooped around and found files on who they were, and who their dad was...

Cue the next few years of Reader wandering, beinh homeless or in the care of whichever agents will take them or in old houses, and who is touch starved and lonely as heck, but prefer to be alone, opposed to being seen as a monster or tool and not even a person by everyone around them.

Then they met the teens when they entered Bayville, and suddenly it's not lonely anymore, and their heart doesn't hurt so much, but it still feels so, so painful being around others their age. But they don't leave. They don't fear them, or hate them, or want to use them. And their guardians' are the nicest adults Reader's ever met, and are mutants like the rest of them. Storm helps them keep their hair and skin clean, Xavier let's them play chess with him, and Logan doesn't mind them resting in the kitchen with him when the noise is too much.

And then they find an old S.H.I.E.L.D file from a contact who felt bad for them, and suddenly it all comes crashing down. Because Logan is Wolverine, and Wolverine is their biological parent, and that can't be, he didn't want them, they were a mistake, they were never meant to exist-

And whatever self-love or care or basic necessities they'd had for themself are forgotten, as they don't want to face the person they'd decided to never meet or try to find. He's happier with the others, he doesn't need to know, the teens certainly don't, but what if Xavier finds out, or someone else-

So they decide to disappear like they always do, and run from the only people who'd ever accepted them completely...

But they have no clue what they've just caused by leaving so suddenly, without any trace...

Yandere Sabertooth and Child reader who's ability is to transform into animals and talk to them

Now, I had thought of that power before! I'm glad someone else gets it! May I call you Fauna Anon? Let's see what we can do for you:

Sabretooth was many things.

A villain, a beast, an animal given human skin. A menace and a murderer.

What he wasn't was a babysitter.

At his feet is a kid, maybe a toddler, or maybe five? who's talking to a bird, which keeps staring at him then back to the child. It caws loudly, flapping its wings, earning a shrill caw from the tiny tot. What surprises him is when the tot turns into a bird themself, a baby bird with downy feathers and small, shiny eyes.

His surprise only grows when the bird, a large crow, snatches them up and goes to take off.

"Oh, no ya don't, ya feathered devil," he growls, clawing at the bird. It swiftly dodges him, letting out an indignant cry. Inky feathers shoot by as it tries to make its grand escape, the kid (baby bird now?) clutched fiercely in its talons.

"Caaaaaw!" chirps the ball of feathers, happy and oblivious it is being kidnapped.

"Get yer own d*mn kid! That one's mine!" Sabretooth snarls, finally leaping up- snatching the birds- and landing back down to the ground below. "I'll be taking that," he says smugly, prying the kid from the crow, then letting the large bird fly off. He looks down at the little bundle of fluff in his hands, ready to chew them out for letting themself get kidnapped-

Except the kid (who was bird) is now a kitten.

And his thoughts come to a complete halt.

So cute...

So tiny...

He pokes it gently, earning a small lick.

It's...

HIS.

The kitten soon changes back into a kid, who excitedly hugs him.

"Yay! That was fun! You're really good at tag!"

"Oh, am I?"

"Yeah-huh! But Mrs. Crow cursed you and your forefathers tenfold, saying she hopes you fall to a bear and become a feast for her and the other crows."

"... Aaaaand that's enough nature for you," he sighs tiredly, picking up the cheerful tot and stalking back through the woods.

He can't believe he had to fight a bird for custody of HIS kid. What is the world coming to?

Contrary wise, if reader is a kid, all the adults are try to parent them but reader is adamant they are NOT on the adoption market.

Storm: What are doing here? It is 11 o'clock at night. Growing children need their sleep!

Adult hero Reader is the one braincell of the bunch, basically not fighting the teens and having heated, long rants at Charles and Magneto for letting children fight them! Because yeah, okay, sure, they wouldn't hurt kids, but who's to say some other random person wouldn't? Seriously? Who is parenting these kids? You know what? Reader will parent them! And it starts by telling these poor misguided toddlers in costumes that sleep is important, and so is not conquering the world-

If Reader is a kid/teen, they're adamant that they are NOT an adoption case! No, nO, they are NOT up for adoption! They have a lovely, small, cramped home of their own! They do not need parenting from a grouchy dagger man or a shape-shifting chameleon lady or a blue teddy bear! Reader is grumbling as they sit in class, upset that their nemesis is in there as well, ready to try and get them to join their villainous team and offering to help get them some tutors-

Either way, Reader is upset with the adults and wondering how the teens bought into their weird ideology/cult mindset, and they want to try and stay off their radar...
