(The reader is nearing five months pregnant, it’s giving WandaVision speed lmao. Chris is a proud PAPAya)
You hadn’t spoken to Chris in a week, and it was another week he couldn’t see his child grow. It wasn’t like he was off in another state filming a movie. In fact, he was here in Boston filming Defending Jacob, so he had nothing but opportunities to see you and the baby. But you hadn’t wanted that, ignoring his calls and text. He knew he messed up asking your such personal questions. But he just wanted to help if he could.
So now on his day off work, he found himself walking up to your apartment with a bouquet of flowers and a pack of ginger ale. He truly hoped you would accept his peace offering—he also hoped your love for ginger ale wasn’t conditional to your pregnancy.
Chris adjusted his hoodie and hat, coughing before he knocked on your apartment door. From the other side he heard stampering, and before he knew it the door flew wide open and so did his eyes. The girl before him looked just like you, only shorter and not pregnant. His eyebrow rose as she chewed on a Twix bar, pulling at the carmel that fell from the bar while she stared him down.
“You gonna say anything, or do you just stare?” She burped causing Chris’s face to scrunch up.
“Um?” He coughed, peaking at the apartment doors number, yup still 338. “Am I at the right apartment?”
“You’re at the right place.’ She looked Chris up and down. “Y/n just taking her thirtieth bathroom break of the day.” She turned, walking away leaving the door wide open.
“Are you going to come in, or are you just going to stand there like a pedophile?” She wandered into the kitchen.
Unsure, Chris stepped inside, closing the heavy wooden door behind himself. “And you are?” He asked, following behind the girl. He watched as she pounced onto the counter, digging into a pint of moose tracks ice cream.
She laughed, kicking her legs. “I’m, Sarah. Y/n’s younger sister. Who are you?” She pointed at him with her spoon.
Chris opened his mouth to speak, but Sarah beat him to the chase. “Wait. Don’t tell me,’ she laughed, rubbing her chin. “You’re the baby daddy, Chris Evans. My roommates fucking obsessed with you.”
“Well, thanks.’ He chuckled awkwardly, placing the flowers down on the counter.
“Want some?” Sarah held her a spoonful of ice cream out in front of Chris’s mouth.
“I’m good.” Chris quickly declined.
“Your loss.” She jumped of the counter. “Y/N, GET OUT HERE—YOUR BABY DADDY IS HERE!” She shouted down the small hallway of your apartment.
Y/n stepped out of the bathroom, here brown eyes glaring at Chris’s blue ones as she emerged from the darkness of the hallway. Although he hadn’t known her long, her eyes always conveyed so much. And right now, they told him to get the hell out of her house. Which was nice by the way.
It was small and cozy, a blend of modern and almost Victorian style furniture with nice hints of pastels and neutrals blending together. A candles wick flickered in the background making the apartments living space smell immaculately . Chris was almost jealous of this place.
“What do you want?” You stuck your nose in the air, slouching back on her sofa.
Chris sighed, grabbing the flowers and walking around to your sofa. He took a seat behind you, placing the flowers on your dark brown coffee table.
“I wanted to say I’m sorry for prying, it wasn’t fair for me to drop those questions on you. Especially without your permission.” He said softly.
“Yeah, apologize as you should.” Sarah leaned over the top of the sofa, staring Chris down. “Digging into our personal shit like you’re Derek Morgan from Criminal Minds. Have several seats, Captain Underpants.” She rolled her eyes.
“Sarah,” you popped your little sisters lip. “Go away.”
Sarah smacked your hand back in retaliation, and you could have sworn you hear Chris stifle out a laugh. You glared at them both.
“Go away.” You growled at her, watching her step into the kitchen. “Further.” You pointed in the direction of her bedroom.
“Sorry.” You rubbed your eyes finally addressing Chris. “What did you want again.” You yawned, snuggling into your heated blanket more.
Chris smiled, looking at your ever growing belly, glowing skin, and messy hair. He liked that you were still intact with the child in you, some of your hair strands being dyed pink. Even with this ordeal and everything you’d been through, you still had an innocence about yourself, and that was more than he could say for others he had met.
“Right.” Chris emerged from the trance you seemed to put him in. “I just wanted to give you these and apologize.” He pointed toward the flowers.
“I hate the smell of flowers.” You blurted. Chris sat dumbfounded, what kind of girl hated the smell of flowers.
“Oh.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Sorry.”
“It’s fine,’ you got up and headed to the kitchen with your flowers in hand. “I guess they’ll make a cute center piece, until they die.” You plucked away at one of the red rose petals.
“Right.” Chris frowned, not sure how to take your response. He was walking on egg shells here.
“I accept your apology, by the way.” You flicked on the kitchen sink, pouring water into a clear purple vase.
“Really?” Chris beamed.
“Yeah,’ you trimmed the ends of the flowers, tossing them in the vase. “I guess you should know about how fucked up your child’s grandfather is, right?” You said. “How he almost killed me and the rest of my family.”
Chris’s heart pained hearing that. The thought that you could have been killed as a young girl, struck him deeply. How could someone who said he loved you do such horrid things.
“I’m really sorry about that, Y/n.” Chris grabbed your shoulder giving it a light squeeze.
“If you’re so sorry.’ Sarah’s head popped around the corner, followed by the rest of her body. “Cook us some dinner, I’m starved.”
You laughed, feeling your own belly rumble. “It’s only fair.” You shrugged.
“And we want pasta.” Sarah demanded.
Chris could tell the two of you were nothing alike. He shook his head, finally giving in to cooking for the two of you. Not that he had any other plans.
“Fine.” He smiled. “But I only know how to make Alfredo.”
Chris had been cooking for around thirty minutes, and you’d been staring at his back for the better half of it. And boy did he have a great back, but that wasn’t what most of your thoughts were consumed by. It was mostly consumed by the fact that he never rejected you, not even for a split second. You went through a denial phase of the pregnancy, wanting to end it all. But Chris never seemed to want that.
“Chris.” You spoke up.
He turned around looking at you, almost signaling for you to speak.
“Why do you want this baby so bad?” You bite into a banana.
Chris stopped stirring the Alfredo sauce. Putting the wooden spoon you had provided down. “Why do you ask?”
“What, i can’t ask thought provoking questions too?” You walked around the counter, standing directly in front of him now. “Why did you want this.” You pointed at the bump.
Chris shrugged. “I don’t know, I’ve always wanted a family.”
“No, there’s more to that story. Everyone wants a family, a village to come home to.” You explained.
“Well maybe that’s just it.” Chris turned around, throwing a kitchen towel over his shoulder. “Maybe I’m tired of coming home to an empty house, it’s been just me and dodger for the pass five years. Maybe I want more, Y/n.”
You sighed, and there it was. He was lonely. “I get that. Thank you for being honest.” You smiled.
“You’re welcome.” He smiled, turing back to the sauce.
“So you think this baby will be enough for you?” You asked.
“I know it will, and so will you.” He said back.
Your heart fluttered at that sentiment, you think you were staring to love your accidental family just a little bit more each and every day—and that included Chris.
Chris’s dinner was, interesting, to say the least. It wasn’t bad, but it was stellar either. Not that you were going to tell him that. But Sarah on the other hand. She had a mouth for anyone and anything.
“Did you season this?” She asked with a perplexed face
“Yes? Is it not to your standard, Queen Sarah.” Chris sassed her back.
Sarah scoffed. “Don’t get smart.” She frowned at him.
He put his hands up in defense, wiping the corners of his mouth. “Y/n? Your thoughts?”
You looked up, playing with the noodles. “Um, it’s cute.” You said quietly, hearing Sarah burst into a fit of giggles.
“Cute?” He said, narrowing his blue eyes.
“I mean,’ you stammered over your words. “Never mind, it’s great.” You lied to him, watching his face soften.
“Well, thank you,’ he coughed. “I actually have something to ask you.” He said.
“That’s funny,” Sarah interjected. “I was gonna ask you something to.”
Chris subtly rolled his eyes. “What is, Sarah?”
She smirked. “What’s it like to be famous? And what made you want to honker down and have this baby with my fabulous sister?”
“Being famous isn’t what everyone thinks. It’s not all glitz and glamour, it’s hard work too.”
“I bet.” She took a sip of her drink. “And my sister?” She nudged you.
Chris looked at you and then the baby, a glimmer of something you couldn’t explain was in his eyes. “I just—I don’t know I feel comfortable around your sister, and I’m in a position where I can take care of both of them. Relationship or not, I guess.” He mumbled.
“It’s not conventional,’ you gave his hand a pat. “But it’ll work.” You smiled.
“Aw, how cute!” Sarah said sarcastically. “So you know Sebastian?” She immediately changed the subject.
You giggled, spitting out your ginger ale a bit. “Stop.”
“No, don’t do that!’ Sarah laughed. “You should have seen what she was saying about him.” She told Chris
“You know Sebastian?” Chris grabbed his glass confused.
“No, I don’t. But after I found out who you were I kind of went on a stalking binge with Sarah on the phone, we found Sebastian. And I don’t know, he’s cute.” You smiled, before taking another sip.
alright, Chris didn’t know if he should be jealous. According to everyone he was just your baby daddy. But something about the woman carrying his baby finding his best friend ‘cute’ bothered him, badly.
“Hm, yeah well Sebastian’s a sweetheart.” He grumbled, rolling his eyes.
“Maybe he can be your next celebrity baby daddy, Y/n.” Now it was Chris’s turn to spit of his drink.
“Sorry.” Chris said as everyone’s eyes were on him, he wiped himself off with a napkin avoiding the girls eyes.
“You good bro?” Sarah asked, ripping off another piece of paper towel and passing it to him.
“Yeah.’ He coughed once more. “I’m fine.”
“But y/n,’ Chris carried on. “I was thinking we should plan for a baby shower.”
“Oh,’ y/n gasped.
“I mean if that okay with you?” He added.
“Yeah, it’s great. It’s just, I don’t have much family to bring. It’ll just be Sarah and Vada.” You told him.
“That’s ok.’ He smiled. “My family has been dying to you meet you.”
“Okay.“ you nodded.
“Good. When should we start planning?” Chris asked, pulling out his calendar.
“Are you opening your calendar?” Sarah laughed.
“Sarah, stop he’s busy. And next week should be fine, Chris.”
“Hopefully not too busy for the baby.” She grumbled underneath her breath, Chris hears her and glares.
“Never too busy.” He replied with a different look for both girls. “Next week is perfect Y/n.”

🔥 Gestalt ❄️
[Part 1]
Kaeya felt like a criminal with how much the man glared at him in the meeting room. He shifted his attention to the papers in front of him as he tried to skim the details. His lawyer and friend, Yanfei, had highlighted and annotated the legalese in words he'd better understood.
«They want you to remove your parental rights/guardian status. The legal work only views you as extended family, not immediate.»
A nervous chuckle as he murmured something about never realizing how serious raising a literal baby could be. Trying to calm as Vespera's giggle could be heard in the room.
"Oh, I hope my son doesn't scare you too much. He's just upset that he's missed out on the formative years of his own daughter's life!" Mr. Ragnv- er, Crepus chimed in as he cuddled his granddaughter. Paying little attention to the tension of the room and more to the little girl on his lap. "We were surprised his file was compromised after a medical malpractice report. No one was supposed to use his material as a genetic option."
Kaeya had no idea what to make of the talk. He wasn't Kahalin. He had no idea what her experience was like. Didn't know she had done so until she excitedly shared the news that she had a viable pregnancy. Always thought Kahalin would be there … Always thought he would just be the fun uncle …
He feels like a stranger in the room. He was just the uncle, not the father. … But now he was the one raising her. He became her guardian, but did that make him her father or uncle? He's only had her for less than a year, not even getting to her birthday before being sued for custody. It was stressful. Did he even have a case against a literal celebrity? Fuck Barbatos, Vespera is a celebrity's baby.
"Thank you for the input, but I would like for us to reach an agreement on how Vespera's life should be moving forward." Yanfei consoled as Kaeya feels like he should shrink in his chair.
Truthfully, Kaeya would bluntly state Vespera stays with him. Honestly, Kaeya would prefer Diluc to be slowly introduced to his daughter. And blasphemously, Kaeya disregards all reason and says Diluc should be his boyfriend, and they all become a happy family, avoiding all this trouble. But that would be stupid thinking.
"I am sure it is upsetting to learn late of Vespera's existence. However, I would prefer that the two of you eased into her life slowly." Kaeya responded carefully as he marked off lines in the papers. Not caring if her father disapproved of his actions.
"I will not be giving up my parental rights just because I am an uncle. I have raised her in my sister's place, and Vespera is my kid." He stated sternly as he looked at Diluc and the man's lawyer. Showing he will not be bullied to lose someone he loves. "We'll share custody evenly, or I will fight to keep her solely."
Diluc frowned at his words but said nothing, thinking it over before sighing. Crepus seemed to have a sad smile, but Kaeya felt like it wasn't over his preferences.
"Have it your way. Our lawyers will work with the alterations of the copy you have in your hands. Let's do what is best for Vespera." Diluc announced as he got up to leave, however, going over to his father to help the man up. Holding his daughter as the senior Ragnvindr got onto his feet.
The sight of Vespera's real father holding her broke something inside Kaeya. Cementing a sadness that's dripped deeper and deeper.
The traits that used to be just Vespera's were now Diluc's.
'I'm not really her father.' Is all Kaeya can despair as the other man passes the toddler to him.
"We'll be in touch." Diluc notes before wavering a bit, clearing his throat to speak. "Thank you for caring for her and I- I'm sorry for your loss."
As if the weigh in his heart broke into light itself. Kaeya couldn't express how hearing that changed his judgment of the other. Maybe Diluc really was not that vindictive as he thought he was.
"…Thank you for that…" Is all Kaeya can say, feeling a bit confused when Crepus pats Kaeya's shoulder.
"Ignore my son's rigidness, we're family now, so don't be shy to visit."
The young heir seems to blush at his father's words.
'Cute.' Kaeya thought as he and Yanfei left the facilities, droning out the environment as he lamented on these new changes… Diluc was cute. But cute did not remove the part where he wanted to take the last piece of his sister away.
"Let's go home, Vespi."

Michelle Madden, 18 (USA)
Tumblr media
18-year-old Michelle (known as Shelly to her family) was a student at Mobile College in Mobile, Alabama. She had epilepsy and was taking medication to manage it, but was otherwise perfectly healthy.
When Michelle found out that she was pregnant, she was told that her epilepsy medication would “probably” cause birth defects. (It is unknown if any tests were ever run to see if there actually were any birth defects at all.) The teenager went with a friend to the Family Planning Medical Center, which was actually an abortion facility. The facility later claimed to have given Michelle counseling, but she was on the operating table only 15 minutes after she walked through the door.
That same day, Michelle’s parents were preparing to go to Mississippi to spend Thanksgiving with a family member. They got a call from Michelle’s roommate telling them that their daughter was sick.
“We didn’t think anything of it. We told her we were going to come the next day to pick her up,” Michelle’s mother told the Mobile Press Register.
But before they even left the house, the house mother at the dorm called, asking if Michelle had abnormal periods and saying that she had a strange mark on her face. Again, the parents weren’t particularly worried.
But when they arrived at the dorm, they found out that Michelle wasn’t there. She was in the hospital having emergency surgery.
When doctors operated on Michelle, they found a leg bone, two pieces of her baby’s skull and some placenta left inside of her uterus. The surgery to save her life was too late. Sepsis already set in from the rotting pieces of the corpse, and Michelle died three days after she was admitted.
Michelle’s parents sued the abortionist and his facility. A judge awarded 10 million dollars to the grieving family, but Evans appealed on the grounds that this would “devastate him financially” because his malpractice insurance would only cover $1 million.
Michelle’s parents agreed to settle for $5 million with the insurance company paying the entire amount. Not content with that, Evans then sued his malpractice insurance company for not having settled with the family for $1 million prior to the trial, claiming that he had been subjected to “emotional distress, humiliation, damage to his reputation, and loss of business” — such “emotional distress”, he asserted, was “so severe that no reasonable person could be expected to endure it.” (Apparently the lawsuit was what caused Evans such distress and not the unnecessary deaths of a teenage girl who had trusted him and her defenseless unborn baby.)
Michelle’s parents told the news about the horrifying treatment their daughter had endured in the final days of her life as well as the complete lack of parental consent. “Two weeks before, she crushed her finger and had to have it X-rayed at the hospital.” said her mother. “We had to ensure the hospital we would send them the signed release to have her hand X-rayed.” Yet Michelle underwent a dangerous unnecessary surgery without her family’s consent or notification.
Mrs. Madden gave a message in the newspaper after her daughter and grandchild were killed in the hopes that it would spare others from sharing Michelle’s fate: “Too many young girls out there are picking up the phone book and looking for abortion clinics saying, Here's a quick easy way out of it and nobody has to know. I think people see it as an easy out, but there are other options that are safer.”
Michelle and her baby deserved better. Even if Michelle’s baby might have had disabilities, there was no reason for anyone to pressure her into an abortion— no reason except ableism and greed.
“Lawsuit is filed against abortion clinic,” Mobile Press Register 6/6/91
“Parents Finally get to tell daughter’s story,” Mobile Press Register, 6/16/91

Tobias should have been a canon LI. Where is the Open Heart Book 3 rewrite that the we need? If someone ever kickstarts this project ILW style, I will be the first to donate. I was rereading the series. I got to Book 3 and I had to stop. The characters deserved better. The series deserved so much better. The Open Heart fandom deserved better. There was so much more that PB could have done with the characters if they cared about the player experience. OH was one of Pixelberry's best series and they let it die in the most disappointing way possible. Anyone who is willing to give the story a better ending deserves the Choices fandom's support. It's been ages since we have had a real romance arc on this app.
im fine w Tobias not being a canon LI as i personally headcanon him as aromantic & have him in a queerplatonic relationship w my LOA mc, Reigan, but like other than that HUGE agree
and now i'm gonna use this ask as a reason to talk about what all i would change of book 3 lmao thank u <3
so first of all, there's really no reason for Harper to be part of the diagnostics team besides "whoah oh noeses Ethan is talking with his ex whoopsie oopsie i hope he doesn't fall back in love with her!!!!!1!!111!!!" (which goes nowhere, iirc MC doesn't ever talk really to him about their jealousy) and a few nice friendship moments between her and MC when Tobias and Ethan are being dumb at each other (like when you can choose to side w either E or T during an argument OR ask Harper if she wants to get coffee- i genuinely love that part so much). so i would change it so that instead of the opening on the diagnostics team being because Baz is leaving (which also had no reason to happen), but because Ethan took too long to find a replacement for June
imo it would have been more interesting if Bloom had used Ethan taking the whole 3-month closure of Edenbrook to decide on a new team member as an excuse to try and get more hands on with the DT. so like right after Ethan, Baz and MC sit down the first day back he should have just showed up w Tobias & made that new rule about voting on cases. i did like the feud between Bloom and Ethan though, the writers just majorly dropped the ball there. and kept dropping it the whole book.
I'd also remove all of the parts where the MC just straight up ditches work to go play with their friends. it felt so wrong that the MC fought so hard to get to the place where they're at just for them to blow of work every five seconds bc Jackie and Sienna want to go shopping or Bryce wants to drive a fancy car or whatever. or i'd like change it so it happens on days off or after their shift is over.
+ the diamond scene in ch1 where MC and their friends are enjoying all of the amenities that Bloom added for employees, I would have loved the option to be more wary of them, a lot of them seemed like a distraction, like the video games in the breakroom
like imagine ur surgeon being late to ur life-saving surgery bc they were too busy playing mario kart or whatever
i would say there should have been another Big Important Disaster but honestly Rafael has already been through enough with the first two book's Big Disasters being somewhat focused on him
also the fuckin uuuuuuh. patient suing Ethan over medical malpractice plotline?
100% should have been Ethan's fault.
having Naveen actually be the one who did it feels kinda.... racist??? a little bit????? like god forbid PB's Specialest White Boy do something wrong and face the consequences for it
i have more qualms with this book but i am gonna be honest: i straight up do not remember most of the book. it was such a nothing end to such a good series
i did like being able to do that team building exercise w jackie's group. Dr Gary Garison, my beloved, i'm so glad i got to see you for one single scene this whole book

cw: talk about doctors and a minor medical procedure
i got my anti baby force field topped up yesterday (nexplanon implant replaced) and the doctor who does it at my gp is genuinely a wild individual like she's actually pretty nice i think? but just. so chaotic the most chaotic
got the first one in 6 years ago and she literally made me faint during that by talking about all the things that could go horribly wrong with the coil while waiting for the local anaesthetic to kick in most of which i already knew which is why i elected to get the implant instead and definitely did not need to hear about and because there was a student doctor in (who despite being prolly 1/3rd the size of me valiantly caught me before i crashed off the bench lol) i got to hear the doctor say "i have never seen a patient faint during this procedure. this is literally the only time this has ever happened." which is in hindsight hilarious but did not help with my self-consciousness at the time ha
then three years later i go to get the old one out/new one in and i tell her up front "hey i don't know if you remember but i fully fainted last time so watch out in case you need to catch me" and then while we're waiting for the local anaesthetic to kick in she starts to tell me about how they've changed the guidelines on placement because some people were putting them in too deep and there's a chance that if it's too deep it can get loose and she'd read a journal where they found one in someone's lung???? that they then needed surgery to get out??? and i didn't faint that time but it really felt like she was trying to make it happen. and then she told me to look into arnica cream for my bruises and used the word homeopathic which i really really hope she was using in the way some people do to mean all alternative medicine and she wasn't actually recommending the dilution of a dilution of a dilution stuff
and then yesterday while we were waiting for the anaesthetic she started talking about how the guidelines had changed yet again and saying like, ~why do they keep changing the guidelines everyone's so obsessed with sticking very strictly to the guidelines because their afraid it's terrible the way things are going we're going to end up like america where you can get sued for anything~, kind of like a "you can't even make jokes anymore" rant except about i guess? medical malpractice? anyway i still let her stick a scalpel in me after that so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
despite all that she's actually one of the only doctors i’ve ever seen who seems genuinely upbeat and happy to be doing doctoring (instead of looking at you like you're massively inconveniencing them by being a patient) and although it's the Wildest shit that comes out of her mouth i've never had to worry about there being an awkward uncomfortable silence and she seems genuinely caring and interested in the chat i give in response and i'm always completely distracted from the actual procedure going on so like. all in all a pretty good experience comparatively actually lmao

If you think yesterday was a win sign up for foster parenting now.
If you think yesterday was a win you're going to want a strong stomach in the coming months because there will be an uptick and news reports in protests and related injuries and d3@th, su!c!d3s, r@pes, reports of body mut!lat0rs, medical malpractice, and maybe even m¿rd3rs of mothers and babies. If you think yesterday was a win you need to tell your daughters, grandaughters, sisters and cousins under the age of 4 that the youngest ever recorded pregnancy was to a little girl who was 5 years 7 months and 21 days old. You need to watch every man and boy who comes in their lives and never leave them alone becauae either they won't know better or they will and they might do it anyway. You need to understand that if your loved one is disabled they may not survive the pregnancy and that if they do the baby might not and they'll still lose their life because they'll be going to jail for m¿rd3r.
You need to be aware that, before long, the laws will criminalize birth control which doesn't just prevent babies. I use mine to stop a crippling and overflowing period that would prevent me from working and even still it doesn't stop it completely which tells me it may not be effective at stopping a pregnancy either.
You need to learn what goes in and out of your loved one's and your own, if you are a woman, reproductive health. The fact they pierce and yank at our cervixes to place an IUD, which may become illegal soon, without pain medication because they think we are dramatic and don't feel pain like some Marvel comic mutant just being one of them.
If you think yesterday was a win you owe it to us to be responsible for your urges and advances. You OWE it to us to take no for a fucking answer without asking questions, without bartering, without whining or pushing yourselves on us or trying to get us drunk to change our minds or k!lling us.
You owe it to us to reevaluate medical procedures we endure for improvement and at the very least to recognize pain is universal not just a reserved thing for the rich or male. Reevaluate who is responsible for pregnancy because it is not just that woman who likes sex, or just that little girl who was at the wrong place but the man that decided not to wear protection because he wanted it to "feel better", has a breeding kink, or whatever lame ass fuck all excuse that is given. Also if you lie about putting protection on the only reason I don't hope she cuts your d!ck off when she finds out is because she'd go to jail for it. Reevaluate what men are allowed to walk away from, get away with, shirk responsibility for. You owe it to us to take your 50% all the way to the end for these kids who will be sources of hate and fear for their mothers, who will get teenagers kicked out of their homes.
Women are scared, mothers and daughers are scared, I AM SCARED by the precedent this set. Your pets and corpses have more right to their bodies than me and my sister and my two beautiful nieces do right now. And it terrifies me. I was willing to fight for this country. I was willing to lay down my life for this country. Now I'm afraid to leave my apartment. I'm afraid to let my sister send my nieces to school or daycare. I have never once regretted being who I am until today and even then I know I still have it easier than some women because I can live happily without sex. Barring anyone assaulting me I can control that. So if THIS was a win for you enjoy it and watch it closely without ever turning your eyes away.
I hope God is watching too. I hope he sees every second of the things that have happened in the last 2 years alone from politicians who said death to the weak populace who would catch covid is a better alternative than death to the American economy, pastors starting new witch hunts and taking counsel from "demons" in their head and still calling themselves godly men, to the ones saying that we should round all the gay people up and put bullets in the back of their brains like we are N@zis and this is the Holocaust, the "good" Christian folk willing to send bombs and anthrax into buildings serving mother's of unborn babies that "needed protecting" so much that this happened in the first place, to "good" Christian parents who will be throwing kids out on the street or beating babies out of them and turning them in for reward money in Texas. I hope God is watching and I hope when judgement day comes there is a silence so deafening that the almighty can hear a pin drop and not a protest to be voiced as the fall comes for those people who cause suffering and pain for anyone.

(the reader is finally finishing her first trimester, we have to move it along hehe)
Chris wanted to throw his phone against the wall he was so angry. He knew it came with the territory of being a celebrity, but sometimes he wanted to damn the paparazzi to hell. Invading his privacy was one thing, he had lawyers for things like that. But invading yours and the baby's fueled him with unbridled rage.
Maybe it was a sense of protection he was growing over the child you were carrying, but he didn't want your face out there and now it was. Chris blamed himself, he was just so caught up in you and the baby he had been so relaxed and hadn't noticed the camera.
"Fuck, she's probably seen it." He groaned throwing his phone onto his sofa.
"I bet she has." Olivia spat, leading Chris to roll his eyes. "Oh, this one's rich!' She laughed sitting next to Chris. "Captain America star Chris Evans was seen cozied up with homegrown Boston beauty last Friday. The pair were spotted leaving together, Chris holding open the door for his suspected new woman. And is that a baby bump? So, could this mean America's most eligible bachelor is off the market?”
"Fucking E-news!" Chris yelled. "Calling her a Boston beauty, and the bump, fuck!" he tugged at his brown fluffy strands of hair.
"I'm sure she called herself a homegrown Boston beauty.' Olivia mimicked your accent. "Sounds too narssacitic to be press."
Chris practically blew smoke out his nose. “Olivia would you just fucking quit it!” He slammed his hand on the coffee table, pushing himself off the sofa. “She didn’t leak shit! We got caught, that simple!”
“Why are you defending her, huh?’ Olivia turned Chris around by his shoulder. “You don’t even know her!”
“I’m getting to know her!’ Chris shouted. “And I—I like her so far. Yes, she’s a tough cookie to crack. But I like her, and she seems like a good fucking person.” Chris said, bringing his temper down.
Olivia shook her head pointing at Chris. “This isn’t over, I’m calling the press and the news and telling them to take every damn story down, today.” She stormed off, her heels clicking against the marble floor. Chris shook his head as his hands rested on his hips. He really hoped you weren’t hurting somewhere.
You sat with tears in your eyes that were ready to break like the Hoover damn. You never imagined yourself to be so pregnant, and so alone. You held your mom's hand tighter moving all the metal wiring and tubing out of your way. Trying your best to ignore the heart monitor's persistent beeps.
“Mom,’ you sniffled, caressing her motionless hand. “You’re finally going to have a grandbaby, see?’ You leaned back, exposing your growing belly.
But she didn’t move, she never did. Your mother stayed still, her eyes remained closed as a tube roped through her neck doing all the breathing for her.
“Fuck.” You whimpered, pulling at the hospital sheets as you cried into them.
Why was life so unfair and cruel? Especially to the people who did it no harm. Your mom had been in a coma for just over two years at this point. And each day she was left on life support was another day it felt harder to be here. Harder to not be were she was. Or worst.
You remember that night. That night you, your mother, and your younger sister had almost lost your lives to the heinous man you once called your father. He had beaten you along with your sister to a pulp and nearly killed your mother by strangulation. Resulting in her slipping into a coma.
The doctors said if he had strangled her for just another minute, she wouldn't have made it. And from that treacherous night on, you had done nothing but pray she would wake up. Pray she would recover and you all could heal finally, as a family. And he could rot in hell.
A soft knock on the door pulled your attention from your mother, you slowly looked over to the sound and saw your mother's nurse just making her rounds.
“Hi.’ She smiled, clicking a pen alive and scribbling what your were positive was nurse terminology down onto a clipboard.
You noticed in between everything she wrote she would glance at you with a precarious look bestowed on her face. It wouldn’t take long before she finally spoke up.
“Not to be rude.’ She coughed, putting the pen on the collar of her colorful nursing scrubs. “But aren’t you the girl who's dating Chris Evans?”
Your eyes went wide and your heart silent. Your breathing was unusually shallow as you swallowed what ever spit was left in your parched throat. “What?” Being the only word you could muster.
“I’m sorry.’ She laughed, sweeping a red flyaway behind her ear. “It’s just your trending all over social media. They say you’re dating him.’
You didn’t say a word, instead you tore through your bag, pulling out your phone and jamming your thumb on the power button waiting for it to illuminate in your face.
‘Cmon, cmon.” You groaned, pushing into the button harder.
Finally, your phone lit up and you unlocked it heading straight to Twitter's trending page. There you discovered Chris was trending number one. You gasped as your eyes scrolled down the timeline along with your fingertips. Suddenly your phone began to show all of the miss calls and text messages from random numbers and Chris along with your best friend Vada.
You stood up from your chair, leaning down and giving your mother a kiss on her cheek. “I love you, mom.” You smiled somberly into the kiss, pulling away with a sigh.
“And no.’ You looked at the nurse. “I’m not dating him.”
Fuck, should you have said that? You scurried out of the hospital, jumping into the back of your Uber dialing your Vadas number as the sweat continued to pile underneath your arms.
“Bitch, you better explain yourself, and now!” She yelled over the phone.
“Vads, I’m not dating him! I don’t even know how those pictures got out there! Did he really use me as a publicity stunt?” You groaned, looking out the window.
“So you’re not fucking him?” She asked.
“Fuck no! He just wanted to talk and I agreed, then he begged to take me home." You fanned your overheating body. "Fuck, do you think he set me up?”
“It doesn’t seem like it from the pictures.’ Vada typed away on her desktop. “Have you talked to him?”
“No, but I’m going to his house now.” You sighed, biting at your nails. “I know he's probably thinking about me what I’m thinking about him.”
“You think he’ll think it was you?”
“Yup.” You shook your head.
Your Uber came to a halt in front of the penthouse. You said thank you and stepped out closing the door behind yourself.
“I’ll call you back Vads.” You said hanging up.
You looked at your call log and you finger lingered over Chris’s name which was bright red with missed calls. You let the pad of your finger hit it and brung the phone up to your ear.
“Hello, Y/n?”
“Chris, what’s happening?” You asked, walking inside his building.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I wish I knew.”
You took in a deep breath closing your eyes. “Can you let me up?” You ran a hand through your knotless braids.
“Your here?” Chris jumped up.
“Yes, is that okay?”
“More than okay.’ He said, walking toward his home phone that connected to the front desk. “One second.” He sat his cellphone down.
“Hey phill, can you let her up please?”
“Sure thing Mr. Evans, but which one?”
Chris paused, almost wanting to laugh. “What.” The laugh stifled out anyways.
“Well, there’s a pretty brunette here for you and a stunning lady with braids.’ He stood looking at both women. “So which one?”
Chris bit his lip and threw his head back. The last thing he need was to hear Emma's mouth about this. They weren’t even a thing, but she seemed not to take the hint. Or rather hints.
“Send 'em’ both.” He groaned hanging up the phone.
Phil shook his head, hanging his own phone up. “Um ladies,’ he coughed. “You can go through here.” A private elevator opened.
Your eyes scrunched together as you heard a pair of heels clicking behind you. Turning around you saw a fierce brunette walking towards you with fire in her eyes. She looked like something out of a magazine. Her brown hair flowed and bounced as she stomped toward the elevator. You scurried toward the elevator doors behind her, immediately feeling small next to the tall and slender woman. The doors shut in front of you and you began rocking on your heels hoping to elevate some of the tension that contaminated the air.
“So you’re sleeping with my boyfriend and he knocked you up?” Emma asked snarkily.
“What?’ You looked up at her. “No, it was a medical mistake.”
“Not what the news says.’ She crossed her arm, bursting out of the elevator at the ding.
You rolled your eyes, sheepishly following after her. You both reached the front door of Chris’s place. Emma knocked on the door ferociously so that it certainly could be heard from the other side. And it was, Chris opened up the door looking exhausted.
“Really?” She shouted, pushing past him.
You stood there biting the inside of your lip watching him shake his head low.
“Hi.” You said, still standing outside his door frame.
“Hi.” He exhaled, opening space for you to walk through.
"Trouble in paradise?" You chuckled, pointing towards Emma.
"There is no paradise,' he whispered, shutting the door.
"Hm," you said, tugging at your purse strap.
"There's the little minx." Olivia's nose flared as she strutted towards you with Emma behind her.
"That's not even the word for her." Emma ground her teeth together.
Your breath hitched in your throat as you stepped back, not noticing you had cowarded behind Chris who held your arm gently in support.
"I didn't leak that!" You croaked out.
Olivia folded her arms. "So who did?" She smiled, her eyes blinking rapidly.
"I don't know! Maybe the paparazzi!" You shouted unsurely.
"Chris!' Emma shouted, "Why are you touching her?"
"Because you're both acting insane and shouting at her! She's pregnant and I'm done allowing you both, especially you Liv , to torment her!" Chris belted, veins popping out of his neck.
He grabbed the small of your back, leading you to his couch and sitting you down. "Do you want something to drink, I have ginger ale."
You nodded, looking down at your shoes. "Yes."
Emma scoffed, plopping down on the opposite side of the couch, Oliva by her side, staring you down. "Can I have a drink as well, Chris baby?" she said, her eyes never leaving you.
Chris sighed. "Sure Emma, what would you like?" He twisted your ginger ale bottle open, pouring it into a glass.
"You know how I like it, something hot." She smirked at you.
You sat uncomfortably, not sure what her angle was with you.
"So you really didn't leak it?" Olivia asked.
"No, why would I?" You said, growing angry.
Olivia laughed. "Who would pass up an opportunity to be linked to Chris, lots of people just like you want him."
"I get you're protecting him, but the only thing I want to do is be able to eat my favorite foods without puking." You said, thanking Chris as he handed you your drink. "So no, I didn't leak it. Besides, how could I snap a picture from myself across the parking lot?"
Olivia's eyes softened, sitting back against the sofa. "We'll look into, it," She said snarkily.
Chris shook his head, slowly sipping on his expensive aged bourbon. It burning as it went down. “So where do we go from here?”
“We take her out of the public eye, not like she’s memorable. They’ll forget about her soon enough.” Olivia waved it off. “In the meantime, I’m going to set up a nice little PR date night for you and Em so the public will be off your trail.” She explained to Chris.
Chris rolled his eyes. “So what? We write it off like she’s a friend I was helping?” He asked, his arms resting on the top cushion of his sofa.
“Yup.” Olivia said popping ‘p’
“And maybe you and Emma should kiss, really make it seem legit.” She added.
“I’m all for that,” Emma smirked.
Chris leaned forward, rubbing his face with his palm. The last thing he wanted was for the public to believe he was a manwhore, with two women in less than a month it was bound to be a story, he could see it now. But it was for you and the baby. And at this point he would do about anything for the two of you.
“Okay.” He agreed, setting his drink on his coffee table. “Only for y/n.” He said, standing up.
Your head shot up, for most of the conversation you had been silent hoping no one would point a finger at you if you stood still. But now Chris had just bring that attention back on you, and in the most unexpected way.
“What?” You laughed in confusion.
“I’m only doing this ridiculous stunt for you.’ Chris clarified. “You didn’t ask for this.”
He looked into your eyes. “I’m doing this for you and our baby.” He said.
You weren't sure why, but your heart had just skipped a beat. He was so Captain America-like. Running to your defense like you had watched him do before on the big screen.
You brushed a braid, behind your ear. “Thank you.” Your cheeks heated up, and you almost wanted to slap yourself for allowing it.
“Yeah, anytime,” Chris said with a small smile.
Emma scoffed, grabbing her purse and leaving the room. "I can't stand to watch this!" She shouted, slamming the penthouse door.
"That girl is a nutcase." You sipped on your ginger ale, rubbing your belly.
"Tell me about it." Chris groaned.
Tumblr media
Anxious was an understatement, this was the first ultrasound he would attend. The first time he'd officially meet his baby. Although he had no part in the conception, he never felt more connected to anything in his life. Chris pulled open the doors to the clinic, smiling at the front desk woman as he approached.
Instantly her eyes glimmered over. "Oh my goodness, are you, Chris Evans?" She questioned, frantically pulling out her phone.
He put his finger over his lips shushing her, pulling his baseball cap low. “Yes.” He chuckled.
“Oh my God, I love your work. Could I have a photo?” She giggled, making sure to whisper per his request.
“Sure.” He looked over his shoulder before leaning in. The woman snapped a photo thanking him once more and blowing a kiss.
You just laughed, closing your assignments as you clapped your hands. What a show that was, you couldn’t fathom being famous and getting recognized everywhere you went. You couldn’t even handle being recognized as a teacher in the grocery store. But Chris seemed to handle it well, it was one of the things you were beginning to admire about him. How calm he always seemed to be, it made you less nervous.
“Hey superstar.” You waved at him, putting your students assignments into your bag.
Chris laughed, walking over to you. “Wow.” He gasped as you stood up. “You’re getting so big.” He chucked in disbelief.
You frowned. “What do you mean by that?”
Chris’s eyes widened then softened. “No baby—I mean, Y/n. I meant your belly. The baby.” He pointed at your stomach.
“Well I hope so,” you grumbled. “Sit, our appointment isn’t for another fifteen minutes.”
“Right.” He sighed, sitting beside you. “What we’re you reading?” He asks, sparking conversation.
“Oh, my students informative essays.’ You chuckled. “Would you believe Aria actually wrote about immaculate conception after hearing our story.”
“That girl is something else.” He rubbed his temple.
“You must admit, she’s brilliant. And she will be getting an A.” You said. “And not because I unofficially slept with her uncle.” You brushed your shoulder against his.
Chris brushed yours back, laughing along with you. Not only was Aria something else, so were you, and in the best possible way. But there was something he couldn’t deny himself of knowing anymore. After your coffee date and you mentioning a high insurance rate, Chris looked into the real reason you needed two jobs. He couldn’t find much, but what he could find disturbed him. He just wanted to know the real truth, maybe he could help.
“Can I ask you something, Y/n?” He sighed, rubbing his palms over his knees.
“Shoot.” You smiled at him.
“I found something and I wanted to ask you about it.”
You frowned not sure where this was going, but before Chris could explain the doctor had called your last name. Waving for you to come back.
“Let’s table the conversation for after, okay?” You grabbed your bag.
“Just promise you’ll be honest.” Chris took your bag from you.
You laughed awkwardly. “Depends on what it is.”
“Okay, this is going to be cold, Ms. Y/L/N.” The doctor said, as she began to spread the ultrasound gel along your belly.
“Wow, that really is cold.” You jolted, laughing as she and Chris stared at the screen.
“Yes.” She giggled. “So tell me, Y/n, I see this is your first pregnancy. How has it been so far?”
“Well, I’ve been able to eat more and not get sick so that’s a plus. Also I have this app, it told me my baby should be as big as an avocado by now.” You explained, heading Chris laugh.
“An avocado, that’s so small.” He chuckled.
“Well babies are small, and a handful. Which is why it takes a village to raise them.’ The doctor said, still searching the monitor. “And I assume this is dad?”
“Yeah.” Chris spoke, his heart fluttering at the title.
“Ah, there they are. Beautiful heartbeat.” The doctor pointed at the screen.
You and Chris both leaned in, listening to the heartbeat as it sounded like music to your ears. Your eyes began to swell with tears. You had never had any intentions on having children, but after this, you felt completely different. You would protect this baby with your life. A lone tear rolled down your cheek as you felt your hand inch closer to Chris’s, almost acting on it own accord. Your fingers intertwined as he smiled down at you with misty eyes. That lonely feeling you felt subsided, you realized that as long as you two were in this together, Chris would never make you feel alone.
“When will we know if it’s a boy or girl?” Chris asked, wiping his eyes.
“I’d say give it another month or two.” The doctor smiled, wiping your belly clean. “Congratulations. Whoever they are or choose to be, they’re happy and healthy.” She smiled, leaving the room.
Chris sniffled, wanting to hug you so badly. He couldn’t help that he was a hugger. But you broke through the silence, blowing your nose.
“What did you want to ask me?” You groaned, swinging your legs off the exam table.
Shit, Chris had almost forgotten he wanted to ask you about a harrowing experience in your life.
“Right.’ He watched as your eyes searched his. “Y/n, what really happened to your mother?”
Your stomach dropped, your eyes were glossy again and not from hearing the heartbeat of your baby.
“What?” You croaked.
“I looked into it, the reason you work two jobs because I didn’t want you stressed out.’ He sighed, leaning against the exam table, your watering eyes tearing him apart. “I read an local paper about your stepfather and your mother.”
“It didn’t say much, but it said enough.” Chris said. “Is your mother okay?”
Your body trembled, why would he think it was ok to ask you such questions. Especially after arguable the best moment of your life.
“Why do you care?’ You questioned. “And—and why the fuck are you looking into my past? I thought you were over that?”
“I just wanted to help you anyway I could, and you weren’t talking to me.”
“Talking to you, I barely know you! At least not enough to give you my full fucking life story!” You shout. “Why is it that you know more about me than I do you? And I’m not the ones whose plastered all over social media!” You brush past him, holding onto you belly.
“Y/n!” He shouted after you.
But you ignored him. If Chris didn’t trust you to carry his baby, to hell with him. We all have our past, our demons and you were no exception. But neither was he, and you were about to find out what those demons exactly were.
A/N: sorry for not posting this for a while. I know people have been looking forward to it. So here is part four. Nosy Chris.

Scott Patterson returned to The CW this week with the series premiere of Sullivan's Crossing, playing the role of Harry "Sully" Sullivan.
TV Fanatic got the chance to chat about the actor's return to the network, the complicated dynamic between Sully and his daughter, Maggie, and finally getting to work with Chad Michael Murray.
Check out snippets of our chat below.
Returning to The CW
Patterson returned to the network after starring on Gilmore Girls and 90210.
The actor fondly remembers being on the network in 2006 while starring on Gilmore Girls when the network launched.
He says being part of the relaunch is interesting because he believes the network is not messing around now.
"They're a big network getting respect now," he noted, adding that The CW is now in many more homes.
"You can feel the difference, too. It feels like a weighty, large network now with real resources, so it's very exciting to join them as Nexstar's taking an ownership position."
"It's just a wonderful family to be a part of again, so I appreciate it."
Patterson praised Sullivan's Crossing showrunner Roma Roth because she made the series collaborative, asking his opinion on storylines and more.
"That's never happened to me before. That's kind of a rare thing in this business."
He believes Roma is approachable because she gets to know everyone she works with.
"You're a human being; you're a real person with a brain and heart, and she wants to hear you."
Working With Chad Michael Murray
Scott and Chad worked together on Gilmore Girls but never got to share the screen.
Now, they're working together.
Scott always wanted to work with Chad, so hearing he would be a part of Sullivan's Crossing made it easier for him to say yes to the show.
"We have a great working relationship. He's a very talented guy, and what I love the most is that he knows how to be in front of the camera."
"He's very relaxed. He's very confident and has a real ease in his approach to Cal, which is wonderful to work with and watch."
"As actors in an ensemble, we all need to know our roles. We need to know what we're being asked to do."
"He understands what he's being asked to do. A lot of people misinterpret what they are being asked to do and do something different."
"They have to be told that's not what you're being asked to do, but he's got a real emotional intelligence as a person, and he puts that into his work, so it's great reconnecting with him and working with him."
"I hope we get to do more and more scenes together."
A Fractured Relationship Between a Father and Daughter
Patterson says his attraction to the show was the dynamic between Sully and Maggie.
"It was that estrangement and the potential of coming back together," he shared, adding that the only way these two can find common ground is if they confront their own issues and deal with their own demons.
Sullivan's Crossing Season 1 Episode 1 showed just how far apart Sully and Maggie are, setting the stage for plenty of drama throughout the season.
I noted that Sully seems afraid to reconnect with his daughter and wondered whether he maybe felt like she abandoned him for the big city and whether he believes that there are some things he could have done better to maintain that father-daughter relationship.
"I think all of the above. At times, he did feel like she abandoned him."
"He's not willing to admit that he probably had something to do with the fracture of their relationship and the breakup of his marriage."
The biggest shocker on the premiere found Maggie learning that she and the hospital were being sued for malpractice.
Before that revelation, Maggie believed returning home was a bad idea and was gearing up to leave, seemingly without saying goodbye.
"This is an emotional rollercoaster for both Maggie and Sullivan. When they come together, it's combustible. When they're apart, they're exploding all by themselves."
He believes this serves as the spine of the series.
Scott said the show will make all of the characters face their demons as Sullivan's Crossing Season 1 progresses.
"One of the show's main themes is you're watching these characters heal. They come to Sullivan's Crossing to heal themselves or to have experiences that are going to force them to look in the mirror and say, 'I need to make some changes.'"
The best part?
"They're doing it as a community. They're doing it as individuals within a community, and it's very challenging," he added.
"You need to go really deep on the emotional scale to portray these characters truthfully."
"We're really tired at the end of the day because we give everything of ourselves every day, and I think that's translating on screen."
"That's why it's so effective."
"We're like Mick Jagger. We're stabbing ourselves in the heart and bleeding all over the stage for the audience."
Scott says none of that would be possible without the supportive team and the safe environment.
Filming in Nova Scotia
I told Scott that the filming locations look picturesque on-screen.
"That's what all of Nova Scotia looks like. It's everywhere. I'm sitting here talking to you, looking out at the coastline," he responded.
"It's beautiful. All you have to do is drive around, and you realize it's just prettier over here, and let's drive another mile. Oh, it's even prettier than the mile before."
"Your breath just keeps getting taken away, and the people are wonderful. The food is wonderful. Everything is warm and welcoming."
"Very decent people here, and they're very friendly and considerate of one another."
"It's just been a wonderful experience. It feels like you're in a small European community where people just care, know each other, and care about each other. It's been so wonderful so far."
