note: i started writing this at school but forgot to draft it and lost all my progress when my laptop shut down.

Pairings: Sonic x Hedgehog!GN!Reader (platonic)

Usually, whenever Sonic went out for a run, it was to relax—or he just ran for the hell of it. If not either of those, it was to run a few errands—like now.

Sonic was on his way to Amy's house to get Tails' blueprints the fox left there the night prior, and even though the hedgehog practically protested against it, he couldn't just leave his little bro hanging, now could he?

Even with that being the case, Sonic was still taking his time getting to Amy's place, whether it be intentionally or unintentionally (most likely unintentionally, since we all know how Amy is around Sonic). He had just run around the same block at least ten times already!

I guess Sonic wasn't looking ahead of him during his eleventh lap around the block, because before he got the chance to even look in front of him, he bumped into another mobian, causing them both to stumble and fall back onto the ground.

Sonic let out a groan, sitting up and rubbing his head. He was still trying to process what had just happened. When he got a grip back on reality, he quickly stood up, extending a hand out to the unfamiliar creature out in front of him, a sheepish smirk making its way onto his face.

"Sorry about that. Here, let me help ya!"

The mobian below him blinked up at Sonic, making eye contact for a second before grabbing ahold of his hand, raising themselves back onto their feet.

"It's fine...thanks, by the way."

"No problem!"

Hold on, there was something weird about this mobian that the hedgehog just couldn't seem to register. He'd never seen them around the area before—not even on a mission of some sorts. Not only that, this mobian looked similar to his species—like a hedgehog! There's no way! Sonic would have been sure to be friends with them if they were a hedgehog, so he definitely doesn't know who this particular hedgehog is.

"Oh, I never introduced myself, huh? Let's fix that," Sonic cleared his throat, his signature smirk making its way onto his face as he puffed his chest out proudly. "The name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog!"

Seeing his confident nature made the (color) hedgehog giggle, deciding to reciprocate the blue hedgehog's actions. "Well then, Sonic, allow me to introduce myself," the hedgehog grinned. "The name's (Name). (Name) the Hedgehog."

Sonic playfully bowed, seeming to amuse (Name) as they laughed, bowing before Sonic as he stood up, the two soon breaking into their own fit of giggles. Suddenly, Sonic's ears perked up as he let out a frustrated sigh, causing (Name) to look at him in concern.

"As much as I'd love to hang out with you more," Sonic started. "I just remembered I'm supposed to be running errands for my baby bro, so see you later?"

(Name) hummed in thought, before responding, "Sure thing, see you later, Sonic!"

"See ya later (Name)!"

Sonic ran off, causing the (color) hedgehog to stumble back a bit, before smiling to themselves, and walking their own way.

Yeah, maybe they would see each other later.

Pros:

Nathane might be quiet most of the time, but if she likes you, she'll often ramble about stuff she's passionate about. You'll probably learn a lot of facts about marine life that way.

If you're struggling with something, they'll do whatever they can afford to do to help, even if it's just giving you a blanket and such.

Good listener. Pays attention to what you're saying, and tries to remember it even with their bad memory.

Ace-spec, she'll be happy whether you prefer to kiss, cuddle or simply share the same space doing your own thing. There's not a lot of stuff they'd consider "mandatory" in a relationship.

Will ask about your interests and be genuinely happy to listen. Tell her about your random thoughts, hyperfixations she knows nothing about, something random that you like... They'll love it.

Very chill unless you tease her. Unfortunately for them, they do have very funny reactions...

Good if you want a partner to play videogames with. Not incredibly competitive, but satisfied to play along with the banter, and very very good at gaming.

Cons:

Will doodle on your walls if you invite them over. The doodles might be cute, but if you appreciate a clean wall, you probably won't like it.

Has no idea how self-care works. If you care about her health, she'll probably make you worry a lot. Harmful stims, occasionally bad hygiene, skipping meals without realizing, bad habits in general... Very bad at taking care of herself.

She likes you, but if you're chewing on something that's loud or annoying near her, she will either leave the room or put on headphones, even if you're in the middle of a conversation. Very sensitive hearing.

Probably won't talk about their feelings unless you talk about yours first. And even then, they might not. If you don't ask, she won't tell you if something's bothering her. Actually, it's possible they won't tell you any stuff if you don't directly ask, in general.

Emotionally unstable. Very, very emotionally unstable.

Bad memory. Fucked-up memory, actually. The friendless scar made it very difficult for her to remember good emotions regarding relationships, so Nathane will have complicated feelings even about your good experiences.

Very clumsy. Bumps into everything, falls frequently. Say goodbye to your fragile items.
