lothian to start a number of new services in west lothian from december
so that's a few places in west lothian saved, as in they'll have a bus service when McGill's and horsburgh pull out on the 2nd ae december. it's no much, each is only hourly and only during the day, but it's better than nothing and probably the best they can do for such a last minute emergency operation to no leave most ae west lothian wi no bus whatsoever.
hopefully it'll only get better from next year, after getting increasingly worse to the state were in now since 2019.

Prop’s shock kick earns Raiders late win over Dragons
Canberra are praying for a miracle after a late try from the most unlikely of sources helped them overcome St George Illawarra 26-24 and keep their NRL finals hopes alive, if only theoretically.
Down by four points with two minutes remaining on Saturday, Corey Horsburgh attempted to grubber through for himself 10 metres from the Dragons’ line.
The big prop mistimed the kick, shinning it horribly,…

r96sk: Pretty good!
I wouldn’t class ‘JCVD’ as anything above that, though it is a film worth watching. I really like the way the story is portrayed, while it’s interesting to have JCVD play JCVD. It’s not as entertaining as it perhaps could’ve been, though it merits props for how it’s put together and how it comes out – which is positively.

Creating my brand
As discussed below, I wanted my brand to be punk adjacent, follow the punk mentality and demonstrate an enigmatic presence. In addition to this as understood by Horsburgh's essay, brands require strong visual images to accompany the music.
Group Name
★ Decided name - Vice
Though not strictly part of visuals, the artists name is an important aspect of branding, with it often being the first introduction to a new artist, allowing said brand to be meaningfully distinguished from competition.
When looking into what I should name my band, I looked into naming conventions for specifically pop-punk groups, as it is the genre of 'What's My Age Again?'. To begin I analysed the original artist, blink-182's name, which derived from their founder Tom Delonge's preference for short, snappy titles, with '182' being virtually meaningless. On the contrary, another seminal pop-punk band, Green Day 's name derived from Bay Area slang, in which a 'Green Day' referred to spending a day doing nothing besides smoking marijuana. As such, I wanted to consolidate both these naming conventions for my band name, being short and snappy yet allude to less than moral practices. I then decided on the name 'Vice' due to its being short and meaning 'immoral or wicked behaviour'.
Group Visuals
Horsburgh's essay suggests the creation of a moodboard aids in realising the visual image you want your brand to portray. As you don't need to follow the classical 'punk' style in order to be punk, I complied a bunch of artists, however specifically band's, whose visuals (be it graphical, fashion, etc.) I wanted to emulate in my brand. In order to be non-conformist, I looked towards not only counter culture visuals, but also ones that stray from the traditional image of 'punk', namely with bright colours, softer, more juvenile detailing and a 2000s flair.
Ideals and history
In order to make Vice feel like a fully fleshed out band, they required a fabricated history. I came up with:
Vice is a three piece pop-punk-alt-rock group that started out of a garage following each members respective bands disowning them was they are all notoriously difficult to work with.
Horsburgh's essay also outlined an important way of distilling 'What do you want to be known for?' through formatting your answer through a tweet. Which, to Vice, would be:
'why would we want to be known for anything expect music. we aren't the sex pistols'

British LAPSUS$ teen members sentenced for cyber attacks
Two adolescents hailing from the United Kingdom, integral members of the cybercrime and extortion syndicate known as LAPSUS$, have received sentencing for orchestrating a series of high-profile attacks against numerous companies.
In the case of 18-year-old Arion Kurtaj from Oxford, he has been handed an indefinite hospital order due to his explicit intent to swiftly return to cybercriminal activities, as reported by the BBC. Despite being diagnosed with autism, Kurtaj was deemed unfit to stand trial.
Another member of LAPSUS$, an unnamed 17-year-old minor, was sentenced to an 18-month-long Youth Rehabilitation Order, which includes a three-month intensive supervision and surveillance component. His conviction included charges of fraud, Computer Misuse Act offenses, and blackmail, totaling two counts of each.
The legal proceedings against both defendants began with their initial arrests in January 2022, followed by release under investigation. Subsequent re-arrests occurred in March 2022. While Kurtaj was granted bail initially, he persisted in attacking various companies until his re-apprehension in September.
The spree of attacks unfolded between August 2020 and September 2022, targeting prominent entities such as BT, EE, Globant, LG, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Okta, Revolut, Rockstar Games, Samsung, Ubisoft, Uber, and Vodafone.
LAPSUS$ is reportedly composed of members from the United Kingdom and Brazil. A third member, also suspected to be a teenager, was apprehended in Brazil in October 2022.
A report by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB) disclosed the threat actor's utilization of SIM-swapping attacks to commandeer victim accounts and infiltrate target networks. The group employed a Telegram channel to publicize its operations and extort its victims.
The notoriety gained by LAPSUS$ over the past year has spawned the emergence of another group called Scattered Spider. Both entities are affiliated with a larger collective known as the Comm.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Comm is comprised of a "geographically diverse group of individuals, organized in various subgroups, all of whom coordinate through online communication applications such as Discord and Telegram." Their activities encompass corporate intrusions, SIM swapping, crypto theft, real-life violence, and swatting.
Detective Chief Superintendent Amanda Horsburgh from the City of London Police emphasized, "This case serves as an example of the dangers that young people can be drawn towards while online and the serious consequences it can have for someone's broader future." She acknowledged that while many young individuals are inclined to explore technology for educational purposes, the allure of the digital realm can sometimes lead them astray.
