I usually don't get into discourse but why are people comparing Mollie to Lumity out of all things. Amity and Ollie are quite different characters.

Amity starts more as a sort of rival to Luz and they clash because of their different personalities and goals. A lot of her characterization comes from how abusive and controlling her parents are, mainly Odalia, her mother. Amity's arc about opening up to others and cutting ties with toxic friends she has at the start.

Ollie is like the opposite. Molly and him instantly click with each other because they have plenty of things in common, which makes Molly see Ollie in rose tinted glasses for some episodes until ¨I Wanna Dance With Some-Ollie¨ when she realizes that she can't be with him for the moment if Ollie keeps seeing ghosts as his enemy. And Ollie's arc has to do with inherited prejudice, how his parents raised him to hate ghosts and him growing out from that mentality. Ollie also has a decent relationship with his parents outside the whole ghosthunting stuff, they... aren't perfect but you can see that Ruben and Esther care about Ollie and June.

If anything, Amity has more in common with Andrea. And even then their problems and execution of characters are rather different.
