The most perfect Philodendron Pink Princess!! Who else has a Pink Princess with split pink leaves? I have mentioned in an earlier post that I'm after a really nice Pink Princess. Well Ive just been to visit @francypants78 to see this stunning leaf that has just unfurled. So yes, now I am begging for a cutting but I doubt that'll happen for a very long time!! 😅 So yes, if anyone in Perth Australia sees a Princess like for sale please let me know 😁 Like with most philos. Keep the humidity above 50% and give plenty of indirect light. If you don't give these guys enough light they will start to lose their pink. But not direct sun though as this will scorch the leaves. I like to let the soil almost dry before watering. If you do notice the leaves losing all their pink, sometimes cutting the plant back to its last pink leaf can help. Then increase the light it has been receiving and you should get more pink leaves. Some of my plants prefer bottom watering. This is true for my ricrac cactus, where the soil needs to dry out between waterings. Over time, top watering causes the moisture to "funnel" into specific areas, usually towards the stem of your plant. For impatient waterers (like me), this is a disaster waiting to happen. The pooling water near the base can lead to rot. 🛠For this set-up, get yourself a deep, non-poreous, tray. I like to use clear plastic ones, since they're inexpensive and I can monitor them at a glance. Now, I just fill up the tray and walk away. I can’t believe these leaves have not been painted? I’ve had this Ficus elastica tineke for a few years now but this new leaf has to be my favourite! Looking for a beautiful houseplant with amazing patterns that is very easy to care for? Then the Scindapsus Pictus is the plant for you. They are also known as the Satin Pothos and Silver Pothos amongst other names. These can be grown up a pole or great for a hanging basket. It grows really quick and can tolerate a wide range on conditions. The two things they won't tolerate though is the cold weather, so keep them indoors, also wet soggy soil. While this plant prefers high humidity, I literally have this sitting under my air-conditioner with all that harsh dry heat blowing straight on it and it still thrives. I only water it once the plant is bone dry and not a single brown leaf anywhere. Though it's best to keep the soil slightly moist. And it's very easy to propagate. Once a month or so I chop it up and make cuttings from it. I will be covering how I propagate these in a later video. Also, give these guys bright indirect to thrive.
