The Millennium Saga Book Four: Fate Weavers - a formal WIP intro
This is book four of The Millennium Saga! Intros for the first three can be found here: Firebreathers [X], Echoseers [X], and Goddess-Touched [X]
“It’s only happening to one piece of him at a time,” she says. “You take the left. I’ll take the right.” A bleary blink, as her words sink in. A flicker of hope—one I have to nurture, because I can’t handle the idea of losing it—and I join her in reaching for him, even as his extremities spasm and dematerialize in random, quick bursts. And together, we lift him up. Her sea-slick, shivering hand clasps my shoulder as I clasp hers, each with one of my brother’s arms thrown over our necks. Her grip is tight, even as her breaths are shallow, and mine still pants little clouds into the night air as we limp towards the shore. As we drag him—no. As we drag ourselves, because even accounting for the periodically-disappearing limbs, he’s easily twenty pounds lighter than he should be, his cheeks hollow and stomach concave and wrists sharp when they’re material. As we drag ourselves along, step by painful step, the rest of the world starts gradually coming back into focus.
Genre: High fantasy/Steampunk Target Audience: New Adult/Adult POV: First person present, Multi-POV Themes: Anti-Imperialism, trauma and recovery, hope and hopelessness, the stigma surrounding mental illness, the differences between vengeance, atonement, and justice, the separation between faith, religion, and deities, death and life and which one defines humanity more, and the struggle to rebuild after disaster.
Draft one in extremely early stages as of October 27th, 2024.
A Flex is a life altering thing, on the off chance of survival.
A second Flex is almost unheard of.
An interrupted song; a plea from Death Herself; a single voice calling for understanding and forgiveness, lost amid the tide. And the savior, bedridden, while everyone who has just become survivor races to pick up the pieces of what he’s done.
And in the potential end that all diplomacy fails, that the land-walking people of the world must retreat inland and up-tree, there still need to be options.
To Andy, those options center airships. To Nimbus, they center hovertech. To Annie, it’s peace with The Shadow. To Isa, the wounded. To Ember, their family, safe, alive—a goal that feels further from reach every moment.
And to Lakia, those options center vengeance.
The ocean has yet to quiet. The Fourth Eternal has yet to show her face.
And time is running out for the world.
The taglist for The Millennium Saga will now be maintained below the cut on this post! If you'd like to join it, let me know in which ever way is most comfortable for you!
In addition to that, you'll also find another version of the banner below, because while this one was my favorite of the versions I tried, I am quite proud of the glass and ironwork on the other one.

The Arrival of Bolt and Calliope!
Hey, StarFam! This week we meet the supposed monsters made by madness!
When a Robot and Carousel Horse Come to Life…
When a certain circus master greedily seeked to harness the power of Pandoria and channel it through his carousel, he brought the most beautiful one of the horses to life. Breaking free from the circus master's power hungry grasp, she now resides in Gallopers Keep, seeking a bond with a kind spirit - will it be you who shows Calliope love?
In a similar event, an evil Dark Core scientist used a beaker of Drakkonium combined with the power of pure lightning to bring one of the Dark Core robots to life. As the robot sprung to life, it fled the monstrous commands of the scientist, and ran away into the stormy night looking for a friend. He has found a spot in the Keep to rest for now - will you be the one to bring Bolt a friendly forever home?
Bolt is also accompanied by a Dark Core drone who, inadvertently, had been brought to life during that same stormy night. With faint memories of flight and observation of moving objects, the drone took off after Bolt. After their mutual escape, they have now bonded to each other. HoverTech will happily bond to you, and join your adventures around Jorvik. Bolt and Calliope can be bought for 900 Star Coins, and HoverTech will become your companion for 350 Star Coins. They are leaving the game along with the Halloween festivities on November 6th, and will not return until next year's Halloween festival.
Galloper’s Gambit!
Are you a brave soul who dares test the ruthless spirit of Galloper Thompson? Then take on the Gallopers Gambit! Once you’ve accepted the challenge, the ghost of Galloper will begin chasing you at some point within fifteen minutes of leaving the Keep… So tread carefully!
Please note that the timer for when Galloper will chase you resets if you re-enter the Keep, or start a race!
Two New Halloween Sets!
Want to match the lively look of Bolt and Calliope? Dress yourself in the robotic inspired outfit of Dark Core, featuring details of Drakonium, or channel your inner Carousel Queen in the circus inspired set. We are hoping you will be a kinder circus master to Calliope than a certain someone…
Coming NEXT WEEK!
We are hearing whispers of werewolves on Jorvik…

Friend, sharing image of Kid Robotnik playing on a NotSwitch: "There's a emo teenage Robotnik. Why?"
Me: "Well, when you think about the whole Gerald and Maria situation what with the ARK and GUN's mess it makes sense. He had a lot to be angry about and it really was him against the world depending on how events went after they blamed Gerald for the ARK Incident."
Bigger image shared:
Me: ".... okay why is there a baby on the Robotnik Council and why does Oldest Robotnik have tennis ball covered wheel cane when they have hovertech so he won't have to protect the ends with it to begin with."
I completely forgot Sonic Prime was a thing. That makes... four multiverse adaption series things that's come out recently I think doesn't it? Loki, Spider-Man (both films), Sonic Prime, and Dr Strange.

Second main fallout au character now has a fresh design and reff! i actually went kinda all out on this one, which is a surprise for me since i basically never go all out with shading and such on stuff thats for just me. you can read more about demetrius and my made up faction below the cut.
Demetrius Howl, is a main character in my fallout au~ hes from a new faction i made up based off of the Pegasus enclave from fallout equestria kinda mixed with stuff from the bioshock games. Basically, he was born in New Columbus, which is an American city state that was built on a floating fortress. as cities on the ground became overcrowded, the American government put some of their research into creating more living spaces further up in the atmosphere. thus giant flying city fortress that hovers just above the cloud layer.
this city is able to move around freely thanks to the big nuclear-powered engines attached to it. as well as giant fans and futuristic hovertech. so when the bombs fell, the city was barely grazed by the initial bombings. Escaping out over the Pacific Ocean from its initial spot at the time somewhere over California. catching us up 200 years later during around the time of fallout 4. the city is run as its own country, with similar values to America at the time before the bombs. With notable corruption among the council leaders. deme used to be an engineer for new columbus, repairing the city and fixing up robots that ran shops around town. hed always heard that the world below the clouds was a dangerous toxic wasteland, anyone who was down there was a monster. and while people werent exactly friendly to each other up here at least they didnt regularly kill each other for fun right? i haven't fully thought up why he ends up leaving, but i know i want it to do with the city officials being dicks. he does end up leaving eventually, perhaps being exiled. where he ends up stuck on the ground for a while before building his wing suit out of a vertibird wreck. he decides to use his wings to protect caravans and settlers, attacking raider gangs to save people. his wing suit itself is made of his huge wings of course, covered in bulletproof materials so he can use them as shields in a fight. but it also has a built-in exoskeleton, allowing him to dive bomb attackers and take them out using his own body weight without breaking his legs in the process. the metal skeleton, essentially redistributing all the impact into itself and his wings. another cool feature i wanted him to have was his talons, retractable metal claws attached to his feet and hands using hydraulics to move the claws around. good for stabbing and grabbing! his hands are more just retractable knives coming off of his knuckles. so more of a brass knuckle than a claw. not featured but another big part of his suit is his oxygen tank, strapped to his back and attached to a gas mask, this allows him to fly way higher than a person could climb normally.

Bella? What's that?
I left a doodad at that War TARDIS I found out in the wastes. Doodad's just picked up. Meaning there's a fluctuation of some kind. I should go check it out.
Wait, what?! On your own? That's ridiculous!
Of course not on my own!
...
You're coming with me!
You know, I rather more meant like an adult, your mother, maybe?
Nah. Don't get me wrong, love momma very much, but I've got this feeling that this is my adventure. Don't know why.
And that means I'm being dragged along on your adventure?
I need a sidekick!
Oh joy... How are we getting out there? It's quite a ways away.
Well... I've got a Floatzion Hovertech Quad-Bike! Come on, let's go!
Whoa! Bella! Floatzion went under like two centuries ago! Their bikes are relics!
You're thinking linearly! It's two centuries ago, from this moment in time! And I picked this one up very recently actually. Been meaning to add more weapons to it.

WOW THANKS EVERyone for the love on my sci-fantasy goblin trailer park?? have some more design thought tidbits from my discord ramble about this:
worldbuilding stuff like this for asura is a very fun challenge because the trick becomes how to take something that is very ostensibly a real world concept and make it feasibly exist within gw2, PARTICULARLY stuff like this where asura do not really have vehicles (or no one does rather) the thought became that gw2 Does often have floating barges that cargo is carried on-- not just with asura, theres like magical cargo carriers you can find in flame legion and i thiiiink risen? areas-- so therefor asura, with their love of hovertech, would have something similar. they'd Need something like this since theyre constantly building grandiose architectural and scientific projects too, and its impractical or impossible to rely on dolyaks. they do also love their golems and crystals, ergo, floating structures originally designed to carry large cargo aka carriers, now repurposed into modular homes the shapes are drawn from things resembling real life vehicles that get used as homes (a camper van, a trailer designed to be hitched to a semi) but with shapes and motifs borrowed from existing objects in gw2. this sort of also mimics how anet themselves go about designing asuran tech-- asura areas are actually comprised of a lot of 'stock objects' that exist in gw2's database, and when assembling asuran buildings and tech, anet just mashes and clips them together into new configurations. so, a camper van can be a loot chest that has been upscaled and stretched out, basically a trailer can resemble a golem arm, etc
other ppl making gw2 oc writing/fan lore: this is what my cast of characters did during the events of soto :D
me doing this shit: ive put a fair amount of thought into asuran vehicles and city infrastructure for the explicit purpose of inventing the equivalent of a trailer park in metrica province so that some of my ocs can be neighbors in it

“ They’re Some of Our Finest work.. A one Asura Engineering team that can work on Omega-class golems.. No lifts, No Hovertech. “
Owing Their inspiration to Doctor Otto Octavius , Zixx wears a harness that contains 6 Such mechanized Tentacles. The harness is grafted fully into their spine, giving them total control over the limbs, as well as a near-indestructible Back . Orichalcum alloy and force dispersion subsystems allow them to lift parts that would require a Hauling Golem with relative Ease.. or to traverse the Golem bay they’re kept in with smoothness and effeciency . Let’s just hope they never learn the offensive capabilities of those limbs.

Day 6 - Future AU
AU August Rise of the Guardians 5 Sentences + 1 AU
"Look at it, Jamie—we finally got hoverboards," Jack said, grinning as he leaned against the headstone.
The Burgess Skyline in the distance was a vivid neon glow, dotted with silhouettes of people, adult and child alike, freewheeling through the sky on their new hovertech, and Jack sighed, smiling at the sight.
Hoverboards, in Jack's opinion, were just the tip of the iceberg—they paled in comparison to some of the inventions that'd emerged in the last several years, the laser swords, holo-vistas, and butterfly ships, just to name a few—but it was nice to see a long-standing dream finally come true, you know?
"…I just wish you were here to see it," Jack whispered, voice aching.
Jamie's gravestone was firm and steady at his back, the name long worn away, but no matter how long time marched forward, towards the dawning of a new Golden Age, Jack would always find time to look back and remember where it all started, in the quiet bedroom where he first met his first believer - and oldest friend.

have you been working on any new fics?? (your stories are wonderful, ive drowned myself in polyburners thanks to you 😔 its a good place to be)
Not really anything new, although I’ve been picking away at some older ones that I never finished! Namely the plot-heavy sequel to my telepathic soul-bond superhero AU, the intimidatingly complicated sequel to Save A Horse, Ride A Dragon, and my Burnerswap AU where the villains are all our new Burners and the Burners are villains.
Unfortunately since I’m a nurse work has been kind of stressful recently and also my brain only likes to focus on one thing at a time which is currently original novel things. So process is pretty slow, haha. But I’m glad I could bring more people into the polyburners fold!
I do feel bad that I haven’t had the energy to post much for a while; revamping my burnerswap doc is the most recent thing I’ve gotten work done on, so here’s a little bit of scene-setting!
Deluxe is a mass of spires and platforms, shimmering in the sunshine outside Red’s window. Red stares up at the ceiling, at the pale golden glow of sunlight on the pale polymer. He can hear the sound of someone loudly imitating an electric guitar, and faint thumps and thuds through the wall; Duke is taking his traditional lengthy shower and using up all their precious hot water. From the smells drifting up from downstairs, Jacob is already up and in the kitchen experimenting. Kaia is probably upstairs on the roof, tending to her plants, and Abraham had to go back down to the undercity last night. His absence is a hole; no sound of him talking to Jacob in the kitchen, working out irritatingly on Red’s balcony, yelling at Duke for using up the water. There’s always something slightly off, a little bit wrong, when part of their team is missing.
Red sits up, buckles his patch on over the remnant of his left eye, and pushes himself up out of bed to see what’s for breakfast.
Jacob is stirring something in a pan when he Red arrives. There’s a heaping basket of miscellaneous vegetables on the counter next to him, so probably Red’s in for some kind of veggie abomination this morning—but it’s a veggie abomination Red doesn’t have to make and then burn, and he doesn’t really have a sense of taste anymore, anyway. Red drops into a chair, and Jacob piles up a plate of fried vegetables and sets it wordlessly down in front of him.
It’s quiet for a while. Red eats as much as he can manage, and Jacob knows him well enough not to frown when Red has to push the plate away half-eaten.
“Quiet night?” he says, eventually.
“All quiet in the pit,” Red says, and goes to the cooler to fish out a nutrient shake instead. “No calls from Abraham. No alerts, no bots, no Dragon.”
“Mm.” Jacob shakes his head, making an unconvinced grumbling noise. “They’ll come. They always do.”
Red can’t argue that. He stayed on the edge of the platform until the small hours of the morning, looking down into the dark city far below, watching every gleam of light and flicker of movement, waiting for the first flash of red glass eyes or matte metal claws.
The others drift downstairs eventually, one at a time; Duke grimaces at the vegetable mess, but Kaia piles in with every sign of enjoyment. Red sits back and listens to Jacob and Duke bicker, Kaia’s laughing jabs at both of them indiscriminately, and lets the sunlight soften some of the harsh, nauseated fatigue.
He doesn’t realize he’s beginning to drift off, but when his comms light up red with an urgent chime, it startles him badly enough he almost drops his drink.
“Come in,” Abraham’s voice says, flat and low. “Red.”
“Copy,” says Red, and pushes himself up, already moving. The rest of his team reorders around him, Jacob heading for the garage, Duke and Kaia immediately running for their rooms, their weapons. Red picks up his gloves, feeling the circuitry inside thrum hotly against his palms. “Incoming?”
“How did you guess,” says Abraham dryly. “Three Climbers. Two on North Side, one coming up from the East. And she’s sending up the Dragon.”
Red falters in mid-step, then growls and heads down the staircase to the garage, taking the steps two at a time. “Can you make it up?”
“I can try,” Abraham says, but Red knows that tone to his voice, rough and grim. “I think she’s targeting the medical complex on platform 18. Don’t get distracted.”
“Don’t tell me what to do,” Red says, and Abraham gives a brief bark of a laugh and then cuts the call.
--
Deluxe looks beautiful in the sunlight, if beauty is something to pay attention to; Red has seen it a thousand times, growing up from the old undercity of Detroit like an indescribably huge tree made of silver and marble. The platforms that make up the city itself look almost fragile from a distance, hovertech and superlight polymers, gleaming with solar panels and greenery. The massive support structure that holds the city up grows dirtier and more patchwork as it descends into the bristling thicket of ancient, blocky concrete buildings.
Whole civilizations have made their homes on the platforms along that winding trunk. Around its base, built onto the rooftops of old skyscrapers, Red can see the distant gleam of the Casino King’s sprawling compound, gaudy with red and gold floodlights. There are urban legends about an entire lost city, one that made its living in among the building-sized struts and cables themselves, before some unspecified calamity cut all communication with them short.
Some of the midway settlements are against Kane, some of them are only indifferent, but Red can only assume that trying to bargain her way through was too much trouble. Kane took matters into her own hands, and had her R&D invent the Climbers.
Red has eyes on one of them now; a long, low shape, slinking across the platform. Six-legged, with four glowing eyes each, moving with an unnerving, artificial grace—the mechanical nightmare-offspring of a wolf and some kind of insect. The tips of their claws hum faintly, lit up—plasma-cutter edges, sharp enough to sink into the polymer like hot knives through butter. Red is a platform above them, out of their field of vision, but he’s seen the way the things scale vertical surfaces, faster than anything that size should be able to move.
As Red watches, one of them opens its mouth, showing hundreds of needle-sharp fangs lit hellish red from the inside, and lets out an awful, scraping snarl.
“I’ve got eyes on one,” Red says, keeping his voice low.
“Yeah, yeah, we see ‘em over here too,” Duke says, tight and sharp with bravado. “Easy. Let’s get it done!”
“I’ve got your back,” Kaia says. “Let’s show these things what—”
“Hey, Red,” says a voice, and something taps Red on the shoulder. “Tag.”
The moment of shock is enough to freeze Red in place for a single fraction of a second, and that’s a hesitation he can’t afford. A blunt edge slams into his ribs, knocks him over off his feet; he rolls, comes up on his feet again and sends out a blind shockwave of energy—throws himself to one side as a staff sweeps past where his ankles were, and this time when he lashes out he feels the impact strike true.
The Dragon of Detroit takes the hit and lets it bowl him backwards, turns the motion into a back-handspring and comes to a skidding halt, shaking overgrown brown bangs out of his dark eyes. He’s laughing, smiling as wide and wild as he always does; the deep scar that stretches crookedly from his cheekbone to his chin twists his smile into something just slightly crooked and bitter, but his laugh sounds irritatingly, insultingly genuine.
“Chilton,” Red snarls, and the man spins his staff behind his back and sweeps a bow, grinning.
“I’m guessing you’re not interested in doing this the easy way, kid,” he says, and Red clenches his fists, lightning crawling up his arms. “Yeah, I didn’t figure. Can’t say I didn’t try.”
“The fuck I can’t,” Red snaps, and Chilton huffs out a breath and shakes his head, ever-present smile never fading. “If you really cared about not hurting anybody you wouldn’t be working for that—”
It’s the flicker of Chilton’s eyes that gives it away, and the faintest sound of scraping metal; Red dives to one side on instinct, just in time to avoid the snap of jagged metal jaws and six sets of wickedly-clawed feet. He comes up swinging, lands a few solid hits; the Climber shrieks as one of its legs spasms and cracks, red lightning and dented metal grinding in one of its back legs.
“Backup!” Red snaps into his comm, and then there’s only the fight.
He’s being distracted, he knows it even while it’s happening, but he can’t break his focus away long enough to care. Chilton is gone, he has to be raiding that medical compound, and Red is stuck here, fighting some stupid robot—
“Heads up!” yells a voice, and Red glances up and then back-pedals abruptly as a huge, blocky shape comes rocketing off the next platform up and drops like a comet onto the Climber’s head. The back half of the bot gives a meaty crunch as Jacob’s construction rig lifts back off of it, leaking nasty, thick, black fluid as it tries to drag itself forward on its two remaining legs; Red steps forward, grimacing in distaste, tears a dented plate away and buries his hand in the things neck to deliver one final, merciless jolt. The Climber whirrs, gives a gurgling growl, and finally goes still.
“Jumpin’ Josephat,” says Jacob, from inside the clunky, ugly cube he calls a hovercar. “You still in one piece down there?”
“Where’s Chilton?!” Red says, and then jerks and looks up at the sound of a laugh, echoing off the white walls and walkways around them.
The Dragon is standing at the very edge of the platform, silhouetted against the sky; he makes eye contact with Red, brief and grinning, one hand on the side of a stolen transport pod. Then he throws off a brief, mocking salute, and launches himself backwards off the edge of the platform into thin air, vanishing over the edge.
“Criminy,” says Jacob weakly, because Jacob is an 80-year-old man in a 20-year-old body.
“Fuck,” Red hisses, and slams a fist down on the ground, leaving lightning-jagged scorch marks across the white polymer. Takes a few breaths and repeats, “…fuck,” soft and hoarse, poisonous in his mouth.
“Yeah,” says Jacob, and his boots thump softly as he slides down, his hand settles carefully on Red’s shoulder. “C’mon. Let’s get back to the others.”
#AltU: Burnerswap#the work on the SAHRAD sequel is mostly planning because the content itself needed a structure before I could actually start#I'm ngl there's enough work involved in finishing that one that I don't know how/if I'm going to be able to get it done#but I'd like to#the superhero one is actually like#WAY closer to being finished than either of them#but the remaining stuff is stuff that I'm having trouble cleaning up and closing so I'm stalled out SIGH#oh man tho when I finish it up...THE DRAMA......#Anonymous

Uni looked back at Cubby sadly, then threw her off. "This band is my family. We're going to fix this." It then leapt out of the tower, using its hovertech to float gently onto the stage and join the performance.
"Colorgraphic is back together!!"
((copied from the discord rp))
Cubby stood guard at the entrance to the control room, roller at the ready. She knew those other people were going to try to stop her, so she made sure to have some special cooked up for it. Nothing was going to stop her from… Was that another Mothership? No, too flashy. It was more like…
"Sorry we're late!"
The aircraft came closer into view, revealing itself to be an Octoseeker that was refurbished into a flying stage. The speakers blasted an uplifting synthetic pop tune, and a pair of Octolings rose from a trapdoor.
"Echoes of the past..." Null began.
"Mixed into the sounds of the future!" Void added.
"Lighting the waves, we're Colorgraphic!"
"This one goes out to someone SUPER important to us, so tune in, Uni!"
"Time to short Cubby's circuits and end this once and for all! Now playing: Calamari Inkantation OMEGAMIX!"
The music shifted to a tune you all know well, and Null and Void began singing. Despite having been in sleep mode to power on the bomb, Uni began to stir. "… that… heavenly melody…"

Okay, y'all, our book After the Storm is coming out on Monday, so it's time (probably past time) for us to tell you about it! Queer sci fi erotica, nearly 200k words of nerdy boys, disabled genius boys, and sexy science boys. What's the plot? So glad you asked!
*
Rich Merrill, gene-tweaked supersoldier by birth and AI support technician by vocation, is done fighting. Finally reassigned after four hellish years aboard the Sympatico, a dysfunctional ship with a deadly crew, all he wants is to make the most of his second chance.
The survival skills that got him through his last posting aren’t going to help him on the Reliant, though. In among a kinder, gentler crew, Rich’s old scars and bad habits are just as much of a problem as vengeful ex-crewmates, or the Sympatico’s corrupted AI, which wants him back.
Rich wants to be a better person. He wants to make some friends, finally. He’d especially like to be friends--or more--with Basil Wright, a brilliant teen rival who’s grown up captivatingly handsome; or Liam Beaker, a beautiful, mercurial botanist and fellow tweak. Rich wants to reconnect with what’s left of his family, pick up some hobbies, get some sun, learn to relax. But if he can’t learn how to leave his old life behind, his new life won’t be worth living.
*
Other folks in this book: a badass ring-fighter sister, a middle-aged disabled sports star named for Hurricane Katrina, a snarky gene-modded granny who takes no shit, & an asexual department head surrounded by horny idiots.
Fun things:
- set in the Michigan Fleet, a city of boats on Lake Michigan, established during the climate collapse when everything else was falling apart. A good place to settle down with your poly family and raise kids.
- people with bunches of different gene-mods! There's folks with pretty phosphorescent skin spots, "fourhands" with hand-feet, lykoi "werewolf" soldier mods, and more.
- hovertech means new sports! As well as flying cars and stuff, obv, but we know about that already.
- cinnamon roll protagonist looks giant and scary, is a Big Soft Boi. Heiseigrey, one of our advance readers, said, "This poor boy is a mess, but he is an endearing mess. I love him and wish all good things for him."
@roach-works and @splickedylit and I have worked on this book for almost a year, and we're really excited to get it out there! The ebook will be available to buy on Smashwords, and we'll post one free, illustrated chapter every two weeks on Wattpad. Please enjoy it!
