Where in Adrien's already busy therapy schedule do we think 'realized the only reason i got to have any kind of social life at all is because i got in the way of Dad's fun new hobby' fits? Does it rank lower than 'mom's in a coffin in the basement' or 'I'm a sentimonster' but higher maybe than 'i cataclysmed my supervillain father'? 🤔
... just sitting here thinking about Adrien starting school the very day after Hawkmoth showed up and how the only reason he was even allowed to was because Gabriel didn't want him in the house while he was having fun terrorizing Paris. So literally, Adrien's 'freedom' came at the cost of the entire city...

And another thing because my brain is not a light switch or the kitchen tap, thoughts are perpetually flowing...
Omega was far too handy at everything. Her successes and processes feel earned in earlier episodes, when she figures a thing out and uses her newfound knowledge. But in the finale...
it is bizarre and excessive how she can program the medical droid, carry out their plan with no real hitch (esp considering the literal armor that the Zillo has standing between them and certain danger), gain access to whatever terminal or keypad she needs when even Echo is barred from certain things. We barely have time to marinate in the Batch being captured (do not even get me started on that Decision) before she all too easily sneaks past the highly skilled assassins and hits a few keys to free her brothers. Problem solved.
But then you stop to think and go "well but if she had to pause or to figure out another way, we would have exceeded the show's run time and the epilogue would have been even more abbreviated"
The Batch does not get captured so that we can confront Hemlock or whoever and answer several looming questions rather than to unnecessarily provide yet another opportunity for Omega to rescue everyone.
What.
You don't need to rig things to show us that Omega is a badass. We already knew that and were shown it time and time again without weakening the surrounding plot and characters in order to do it.
I was so damned excited when she showed the force kiddos her pick and resolved to bust them out. I was expecting something on the level of her and Crosshair making a daring escape in Episode 3, and it just....sort of.....happens. Boom there's the shuttle. Shove Emerie and the kiddos into it, leave Tantiss with no obstacles, no ground control waiting to take a shot at you. Box ticked. Problem sorted. Next.
The narrative conveniences just start to pile up.
This also, to a lesser degree, happens with Echo who takes down opponents with an ease that is suspicious even for him. I just.
The most that I can say about the finale at this point is that it Got The Job Done. It ticked boxes. It got them safely off Tantiss. Of course it did not tick a few other glaring boxes but well.
I would argue that it doesn't really make for the most satisfying conclusion to what has been such a vastly underrated, gorgeous, brilliant, visually ground breaking, stirring, poignant series when it feels like you are handed a happy ending and then also told to shut up and just take your damned happy ending. Stop stirring your own feelings and then you won't feel so mixed about it. lmfao.

so ml is simultaneously pushing three angles:
adrien, created by emilie in her image, not only looks exactly like her, but also has a similar personality.
marinette is a foil for gabriel, as they're both stubborn, perfectionistic, talented and calculating fashion designers.
both gabriel/emilie and adrien/marinette are representations of PURE AND TRUE LOVE.

Is it fair to be tired of the things that you love? Grow faint at heart for a love you can’t have? Is it okay to hurt over people who don’t care?! He deserves to be happy, I’m just not it.

You know, on some level I get why James Somerton's responses have been so strange. My mind would be scrambled too at this point. I mean, imagine being called out by a helicopter pilot.
