I'm no good at year-scale resolutions. Let's do a month.
Make a dent in the Anki backlog. 1k reviews and -.5k backlog depth sounds..maybe doable.
Write at least the Axiom of Replacement post; preferably also first Ordinals post. As a stretch, also figure out the second.
...kind of doubt I'll manage the whole Ch.1 of Elementary Algebraic Geometry, it's 45 pages. Aspirationally, sure, but I'll call it good if I make it through 1.1, Nullstellensatz.
Reconnect with <> and learn how to debug compiled binaries, at least a couple hours worth, because i need to fucking practice keeping relationships alive and that's a way
(And also run <> through proofs 101 or like? .....tentative.)
Resume teeth-wrangling
Resume exercise VR handwaving, 15m+ dailyish; it's fun and beneficial and etc.
If all this somehow leaves me with free spoons, I'd like to read a freaking book. Hamlet's fun! Lolita's such a text! C'mon, self.
....is that too much. Feels like too much to promise, though several points can be Just Done..
Eh. Let's See How It Goes.

The Decline of Tupperware...What Happened?
" The classic brand has filed for bankruptcy. This video discusses the company's history and outlines some of the biggest reasons behind its struggles. "
Video source: Company Man
We suggest reading the article below as complementary information to the video:
"Tupperware has been struggling for years. Three charts show just how bad it’s been.By Alex Leeds Matthews, CNN,Published 10:43 AM EDT, Sun April 23, 2023:
CNN — Tupperware may be on the verge of collapse, but the 77-year-old business’ potential demise isn’t necessarily a harbinger of worsening economic conditions.
While sales data shows the rest of the US consumer retail sector — including some of the company’s competitors in the food storage space — seems to be recovering from the pandemic dip, Tupperware sales continue to decline.
Some business experts say that’s because Tupperware has failed to adapt to changing consumer behaviors. And now, faced with mounting debt, declining sales and plummeting stock prices, perhaps little can be done to save the company from bankruptcy.
Tupperware shares hit their lowest price in history Following the announcement that the company could go out of business, Tupperware stock fell to $1.24 per share on April 10.
In a statement emailed to CNN, a Tupperware spokesperson said the brand has been affected by “the pandemic, inflation and high interest rates,” and is working with financial advisers and partnerships including Target and Amazon to strengthen the brand.
“For over 75 years, Tupperware Brands has been one of the world’s most beloved, iconic household brands — and we are excited to remain at the heart of dining room tables, kitchen counters and pantry shelves for many more years to come,” the spokesperson said in the statement.
The Tupperware brand name is so iconic that it’s become shorthand for all food leftover storage. That might be part of the problem, as other brands have emerged to compete against Tupperware, sometimes at lower price points.
“A great brand name can be a blessing or a curse,” said Christie Nordhielm, a marketing consultant and adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. “It’s a curse when you kind of rest on your laurels and milk the brand for profits and don’t continue to invest in a brand.”
If you bought your “tupperware” in a store before October 2022, it was unlikely to be the actual brand. The company just introduced its products into Target stores last fall, a move that is likely, “way too little, too late,” said Barbara Kahn, a professor of marketing at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
“At worst, it’s one of these things where their brand name is almost generic, and not in a good way,” Kahn said. “That doesn’t have to be a bad thing… People might call things Kleenex, but they know the difference,” she added.
Tupperware has historically only sold to consumers through “direct sales,” most commonly at “Tupperware parties.” These parties were gatherings where people who enjoyed the product would demo and sell the Tupperware brand to their friends and acquaintances. That direct selling model worked well at first but fell out of favor as consumer habits changed in the decades preceding the pandemic, according to Kahn.
The fact that Tupperware moved away from that direct sales model and into Target was an “admission” that their core business model wasn’t working, said Tim Calkins, a marketing professor at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business. While some businesses may have taken hits during the pandemic, Tupperware’s decline wasn’t sudden.
“The company has gradually lost steam,” Calkins said. “It hasn’t gone off a cliff so much as over many years it’s just become weaker.”
The pandemic, which affected most businesses negatively, just exacerbated those failures of Tupperware to adjust to changing consumer behaviors and competitive landscapes.
“You could have seen them making that transition very beautifully, but instead they moved into brick and mortar stores,” Nordhielm explained. “If you go and look at Tupperware in a Target, all you’re doing is seeing how incredibly undifferentiated they are, how many other substitute storage containers there are available.”
Instead, people tend to compare the products based on price, Kahn said, and Tupperware’s most valuable asset — its brand equity — loses all its meaning. Tupperware has also failed to innovate in response to these changes in competition and consumer behavior, Nordhielm said. As a result, Tupperware’s sales have been declining for years.
Tupperware sales trending down The decline in Tupperware's sales did not start with the pandemic's economic woes.
Meanwhile the rest of the consumer retail sector is showing signs of recovery after the pandemic. At the worst of the pandemic, sales saw a stark decline, but they have been improving since, recovering more than 60 percent since their nadir in April 2020.
“The state of the consumer remains relatively strong,” Hamilton said. “If a recession is in the cards, it’s not showing up yet in measures for the consumer sector.”
But the recovery in sales doesn’t mean other retailers are immune to collapse. Calkins points out that financing remains tight, creating a challenge for businesses across the sector that face high debt burdens or need support for innovation. Tupperware may be an early casualty because it was already in a weak position. The brand had to restructure its debts in May 2020.
“Sadly, I think this is not the last one of these stories we’re gonna hear,” Calkins said. " "

So one of the things that made me cry (and laugh) the most, when reading the whole series was in Debriefing when Ice has surgery and Mav kisses him on the forehead, then Ice types out “I am cured” with like no punctuation. (Because of course Ice is the punctuation man 99% of the time.)
One, Ice is actually so fucking funny with the “I am cured.” Like no one would believe how funny he actually is. (And I headcanon that Mav knows this, of course, but almost no one else believes him. Which drives him up the wall.) Two, that exchange was so simple but so loving??? Foaming at the mouth here. Especially after those crazy 30 years. So my question is, what are Ice and Mav’s kisses of choice? Forehead, cheek, regular ol’ lips, the world is their secretly sappy oyster.
I haven’t read that chapter of debriefing since fucking last October! Whoa! not sure how i feel about it .
regular ol’ on the lips :) it means something more than all the rest, it’s romantic in a way none of the others are (which is why it’s so dangerous)
okay yes re: ice being funny yes. wait wait wait let me find it in my doc hold on

My Dracoflora: Series II enamel pin Kickstarter is in its last few hours!
This project has been a serious labor of love over the past couple months and it's wild to me that the campaign is somehow already drawing to a close? I'm still kinda in awe at how positive the response to the little guys has been -- I feel like these dragons are some of the best designs I’ve ever made, and it makes me incredibly happy that folks are so enthusiastic about something I'm so proud of.
The project ends at 12pm EDT on October 24th, so if you want to take a peek and admire some dragons (inspired by real-world plants!), or even pick some up yourself, you have till then to do it!

"The vision
“Every lawyer has skills that can help the climate. We’ve just gotta make the connections.” — Environmental lawyer and advocate Matthew Karmel
The spotlight
“How many lawyers does it take to break a Guinness World Record?”
Matthew Karmel posed this question on LinkedIn in February, adding, “No, this isn’t a bad lawyer joke; it’s a reason for climate optimism.”
Karmel, a principal at the law firm Offit Kurman and the chair of its environmental and sustainability law practice group, is one of the organizers of the Climate Pro Bono Bootcamp, a two-day virtual conference dedicated to helping more lawyers and legal professionals figure out how to donate their time and skills to advance climate work.
When people — including lawyers themselves — think of the intersection between climate and law, their minds may go straight to high-profile climate lawsuits or other legal action aimed at holding big polluters and inactive governments accountable. But there are many other forms of legal support that climate causes might need, from simple contracts to forming a new business or nonprofit to legal defense. “There are so many attorneys working at large law firms, small law firms — attorneys everywhere who just don’t do litigation, but are still very passionate about climate change and want to apply their skills in that way,” said Stephanie Demetry, the executive director of Green Pro Bono, an organization that matches attorneys with companies, nonprofits, grassroots leaders, and others who need legal assistance to advance climate solutions.
Karmel had the idea for the conference in late 2023, after he had been working with Green Pro Bono for a few years. “I was sitting there thinking, Why isn’t everyone doing this?” he recalled. “The things I’m doing aren’t unique. It doesn’t require specialized legal skills. It requires passion, and the general legal knowledge that every lawyer has.” He approached Demetry with the idea of hosting a training to help demystify what climate-related pro bono work can entail and build up the network of attorneys interested in offering it.
They held the first bootcamp in January of 2024 and had around 700 attendees — far exceeding their expectations. After the event, Demetry said, Green Pro Bono more than doubled the number of attorneys in its network and also saw a 53 percent increase in the number of projects that got picked up.
But for this year’s bootcamp, planned for late April, they’re aiming to increase that attendance — and setting the ambitious goal of growing it a hundredfold. That’s the number that would break a Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a virtual law conference in one week (yes, this entry truly does exist). It might be a longer-term goal, but it’s one they’re serious about. Breaking the record, Karmel said, would be a powerful way to demonstrate the growing interest in climate action among the legal community, and also an opportunity to reach thousands more attorneys, students, and others with the event’s key message: that you don’t have to choose between your day job and working for the causes you care about."
You can find out more about the climate pro bono bootcamp, which is FREE, right here. It's April 22 & 23, 2025 at 12:00pm – 5:00pm EDT

Article Date: March 10, 2025
You can no longer order free COVID-19 tests from the United States government. As of March 10, the government's free coronavirus test distribution program, COVIDtests.gov, is not currently accepting orders, the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response website says.  Previously, every American household was eligible to order four free at-home COVID test kits, which were shipped to your home through the U.S. Postal Service at zero cost. "Tests ordered before 8:00 PM EDT, Sunday, March 9, 2025, will be shipped," the ASPR website says. The free COVID test distribution program started in 2021. Since then, more than 900 million free COVID tests have been mailed to households in the U.S., and some 900 million have been distributed to community centers, libraries, nursing homes, and food banks, TODAY.com previously reported.
