Christian coworker gave me (an atheist) a grant application from her church via /r/atheism
Christian coworker gave me (an atheist) a grant application from her church So I'm starting community college later this month and my Christian coworker gave me this grant application from her church. She doesn't know that I'm atheist, I kind of just agreed and took the application so that it wouldn't start an argument. Also, the idea of free money is tempting. I could easily just pretend to be Christian and chat gpt the essay to be as 'praise the Lord' as possible , but something about doing that makes me really uncomfortable. I feel like I'd be betraying myself if I wrote that essay, and I'd feel kind of guilty for lying to my coworker (who is still a nice lady, even though I don't believe in her religion). Another part of me thinks I should write the essay anyway. The prompt is "in 500 words share why you think it's important to be saved while getting and education". So...not a very long essay at all, but I don't even know what they mean by getting "saved". Saved from what exactly? Does anyone know how I could answer this prompt from a different perspective or something like that? Do you think maybe I should write it and just explain why getting an education is good, but avoid the topic of religion entirely? What would you do if you were in my situation? 🤣 Submitted August 03, 2024 at 01:49AM by jackojacko9 (From Reddit https://ift.tt/NkspDn6)
