The same thing that causes you STRESS can be the same thing that allows you to LET GO… Seeing life in black & white… The more we see things as black and white, right and wrong, the more judgmental and opinionated we are. We all know (well, as we get older we tend to find out more 😆) that A LOT of life happens in the grey zone. But at the same time, seeing things in black and white has saved me. It has allowed me to let go of things causing me pain. Namely, in relationships that are no longer working. I remember a relationship I needed to let go of but was having a hard time. When I was justifying and making excuses for the person (even if they were true), I was living in the grey. And in the grey was uncertainty, hope, and a bit of losing myself… The only thing that allowed me to let go of this relationship was seeing it in black and white. Ie: he wants to be with you, or he does not. There is no in between that works for me. And seeing it as black or white allowed me to see no grey… grey wasn’t an option. If it was white and I wanted black, there was NO MORE CONFUSION. It actually made sense! Which made the excuses in the grey completely irrelevant. This is another benefit of understanding how you see your world. You become incredibly aware of how your viewpoint is helping you, or hindering you, and you are able to adjust it accordingly.
