I miss HTTYD 1.

So much!

Everything about it was absolute peak-! The story, the sound effects, the BG music, the nostalgic score, the character design and character development, the theme, the dynamic flight sequences, the FEELS!

And finally, one of the best scenes in the franchise's history with a score so damn good one can see the whole thing while just listening to it. Not to mention the absolute dread and ferocity Toothless exhibits in some scenes.

Httyd 1 was truly the best piece of media in the franchise (not counting the books)

why does the soundtrack of HTTYD hit so hard?

like, I know this is an old thing to talk about, but the soundtrack is SO fucking good

it makes me feel things 

every single time without failure

the other day I decided to listen to it while doing my make-up 

and I kid you not

the moment ‘Forbidden Friendship’ got to THAT part... I was done

I was weeping and my make-up was long forgotten, no chance of survival

Haha new Hijack au!

The Haddocks and the Overlands are rival clans, sworn enemies for generations. Though Hiccup had no clear idea why that was, all he got from his father were curses and declaring that 'the Overlands were a bunch of no-good, thieving, rat-faced scum!' Hiccup decided not to open that jar of curdled yak milk.

A recent attack by Krogan and his fliers had left the Riders to take refuge in the closest island, which happens to be the once-secret home to his rival clan. Found out and imprisoned by Jack and his tribesmen, Hiccup is determined not to let whatever family history they have keep him from resolving things peacefully.

With the threats of Dragon Fliers finding out about Jack's island home, he reluctantly lets them stay...

If only their snaggle-tooth leader stopped trying to eagerly make friends with him like some puppy-eyed fool.

I drew some VERY rough sketches of some scenes in the chapters I’ve written so far, out of context, with no dialogue, and I’m about to draw more because they were so fun. Put roughly in the order of the chapters they appear in, to the best of my memory anyways

I have this tma fantasy au I am DYING to write but it's like,,,, writing is hard,,,,,,,, daydreaming is more fun so I'm just gonna tell you the basics here for now to get it out of my system

basically we got tim, sasha, and martin as dragon riders. (which is a Highly Illegal thing to do in this universe the monarchy wants dragons dead so they're Cool Outlaws rescuing dragons. yes I was listening to the HTTYD soundtrack shush.)

jon is a fae who's been hiding out in a little cottage in the woods after Disrespecting his Court and high tailing it across the globe. by some fate or luck or what have you, he and martin meet (not under the best circumstances tho) and it's all breaking the law, 'romantic flight', and found family from there.

ALSO pretty sure there's some gerry x micheal hiding out in there. thinking gerry lives near the sea (maybe he's a fisherman or maybe just for fun, I might even make him a witch) and micheal is a giant merperson thingy who saved gerry from drowning and is now attached to the strange little human.

also micheal's mute (well, probably can make sounds but he can't speak any human languages? like, cause uh, gills) so I really like the idea of them bonding through Gerry teaching him sign language to break their language barrier.

Thinking about Httyd...hot and perhaps too personal take: To me, Httyd was more than anything else a movie about emotional starvation. And Forbidden Friendship was the sweetest, briefest celebration of relief from that.

Afterwards, everybody basically told Hiccup to man up “because that’s just life” and I will never forgive Httyd2 and Httyd3 for that.
