i am not ready for the flood of emotions that will come tomorrow; sadness, anger, hatred, heartbreak, and so many more. the events of april 6 are so incredibly gut wrenching that i still have trouble believing it. never did i ever expect something like this to happen so close to home. nobody on that bus deserved what happened to them. those boys had so much to live for, they still had so much to learn, see and feel. those that survived are truly the strongest people i can think of; their ability to live their lives in honour of their brothers is so inspiring. i can’t even comprehend the pain parents, spouses, siblings, girlfriends, friends, etc of those who were lost must be feeling. those lost in the crash will never be forgotten and as a hockey community it is our responsibility to keep their memory alive. after all, they were just young boys wanting to play the game they loved so much. humboldt strong forever. 💚💛

Humboldt Broncos

As I sit here days after the bus crash that took the lives of 15 people in Saskatchewan I am still in disbelief.

15 lives taken to early and way too soon. I think about the families who lost their loved ones. Especially those who lost their sons between the ages of 16-21.

I also think about how growing up the bus was such a safe place for myself and my teammates to have fun when going on bus trips to our next hockey game. These boys who lost their lives perished on a bus that they’ve spent numerous hours of their lives riding on the bus.

It must have seemed like just any other day for them just part of the game-day routine. Then all the sudden 15 out of the 29 on the bus are gone but never forgotten.

This has been tearing me apart for days. It's heartbreaking, and I cannot fathom the pain and sorrow the families are feeling. The support from the hockey community across the world is impressive.

All 15 people will forever be in the hearts of their loved ones and those whose lives they had affected.

Rest in peace all you beautiful angels.

I am haunted by this horrible tragedy. I spent a lot of my early life in Humboldt area. I have so many friends from there. 20 minutes from my hometown of Watson. I feel this pain on a visceral level and my heart weeps for my people and these young hopeful guys. RIP gents.
