But at the time the only thing she could do was daydreaming about him, after all the imperial entourage would stay for 4 days. So they bid farewell to each other and made a promise with their lingering stares of not forgetting about these feelings

Fourteen years later they did meet again in Manaus. Where he claimed to finally found the most beautiful woman in the Americas.
