i love how illumi and hisoka are freak by nature x freak by act. like hisoka could 100% be a normal person if he chose to be one day but illumi couldn't act normal even if he tried
Hisoka is the guy that makes a conscious effort for people to perceive him as a disgusting freak every single day but Illumi doesnt even have to try. he just is. he exists and people are weirded the fuck out by him. Even hisoka agrees too like 😭😭😭😭

I can’t lie and say that I have never thought of a possible reasonable answer for this. Because I did. A couple of times.
I thought about the same question when I was watching the Greed Island arc for the 6th time and it honestly creeped me out?? I don’t know what Ging and his friends were thinking back then when they were making this special rule for the player who finishes the whole game.
But at the same time, I think he knew exactly what he was doing.
If you somehow forgot what the special rule attributed to the winning player was, then here it is again:
If a player finishes the game, he or she can pick three cards of their choosing and will be able to use them outside of the game. (*the player can only pick three restricted cards of the 100. They CANNOT pick the cards that don’t have a slot of their own.*)
I believe Ging didn’t think much about what would’ve happened if the player picked a humanoid card because he already predicted at the time that his son would win. Since he knew Gon would’ve completed the game, Ging knew that he would still keep pursuing him so he’d be more focused on choosing specific cards that would help him find him.
And he was right.
Gon chose two cards of his game just so he can keep chasing him. (Plus if you think about it, it would be kinda weird and awkward to see a random player finishing the game instead of Gon.) But what I’m trying to say here is that Ging was so sure that Gon would win and only pick useful cards to find him that he didn’t have to dig too deep into the matter.
However, even if Gon did pick a humanoid card like Gold Dust Girl for his third card (if Bisky wasn’t here), Ging would still have applied that rule for her.
There are multiple humanoid cards in Greed Island.
Each has a role to do and accomplish to stay outside of their respective card. However, this is where it gets trickier to see if they’ll be able to stay or disappear right after they do what they need to do. Because, unlike the non-humanoid cards, these take the shape of people. Meaning that they might just have a chance of being able to freely roam around with their player outside of the game if they could. Since they all take on the form of humans, they could be perceived as such but would have limitations to what they can do and can’t.
I believe the special rule can make certain groups of cards have different endings after being summoned into the outside world.
I truly assume this given the fact that the two cards chosen by Gon and Bisky had met different ends. One stayed with its caster (Bisky’s “Blue Planet”) and the other disappeared when it served its purpose to its player (Gon’s “Paladin’s Necklace”).
The different situations of their cards led me to the conclusion that the special card rule can have three outcomes depending on which type of card the player chooses.
A) Cards being physical objects that can’t do anything like “Blue Planet” can stay with the caster for as long as the player wants.
B) Cards being physical objects that can invoke SPELLS like “Paladin’s Necklace” and “Angel’s Breath” can only be used once and can never be acquired ever again.
When we use a non-humanoid card outside of the game, it can only be used once and can never be obtained again. Cards such as these were the “Angel’s Breath” and “Paladin’s Necklace”. We are aware of this due to the cards Gon used to get to Kite. As soon as he used “Paladin’s Necklace”, we never saw it again. So if non-humanoid cards are not usable on the second try outside of the game, can humanoid cards be applied to this rule as well? That may be the case at first glance but if we look at Bisky’s case, we get unsure again. When Gon finished the game, he let Bisky take a card. She picked the “Blue Planet” card and when summoned, it takes the form of an incredibly rare blue jewel. She immediately summoned it and took possession of it implying that the jewel in question cannot and will not disappear once cast. (Bisky’s goal was to gain that card by going through the complete game so she must’ve been sure that collecting it wouldn’t result in only having it for a short while). Bisky’s situation made us learn that some cards can stay without disappearing outside of the game.
C) Cards being physical objects that can serve the player in any way shape or form can be used as many times as the caster wants.
Cards like “Sleeping Girl”, “Gold Dust Girl”, “Aromatherapy Girl”, and “Imp’s Wink” are great examples of this situation. We also get to learn that many other cards who don’t take the shape of full fledged humans can be used more than once such as “Miniature Mermaid” and “Instant Foreign Language School”.

Number 49: A mermaid small enough to fit in your hand. A comfortable living environment puts her in a good mood, and she will sing with her beautiful voice.
Number 59: Spend time studying a language at this school, and you will accrue time on a timer (included). While the timer is activated and counting down, you will be fluent.
So in short, I believe humanoid cards like “Gold Dust Girl” can stay in the outside world with their player as a non-growing human as long as they serve and keep being useful to the winning player.
(*important to note that humanoid cards may have personalities added to them by the game. “Gold Dust Girl” is one of those cards. If we look at her card’s description, she is portrayed as a shy and quiet girl. Personalities will also be a main trait once you summon humanoid cards in the outside world*)
