01) Favourite game of the series?

If I have to pick, Inquisition

02) How did you discover Dragon Age?

I saw a trailer for Origins and I wanted it. Had to have it. Put a pre-order on it and have been hooked on the series ever since.

03) How many times you’ve played the games?

Origins: I broke the disk... easily over 70 times DA2: I broke the disk.... 54 times Inquisition: 17 times.. then my xbox disk drive broke... 

04) Favourite race to play as?

Mainly human, but I’ve enjoyed the elven play through as well. I haven’t touched the dwarf... in any of the games. BUT I love dwarves FYI!!!!

05) Favourite class?

Mainly mage. I’ve been everything else for story line in Origins only. I have never done two handed/sword and shield. 

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?

Generally speaking I make mostly the same choices. Some of them I change up to see what happens BUT I have never done any of the sketchy stuff in Origins, like defile the ashes. NEVER. I play more of a Paragon with touches of Renegade. Or Lights side, with a pinch of darkness lol

07) Go-to adventuring group?

- Origins: Alastair, Shale and Zevran with a female Mage

- DA2: Varric, Fenris and Isabella

- Inquisition: Typically: Dorian, Bull and Varric. 

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?

So far Diana Trevelyan. But Kyrie, my little fire cracker is earning some hard fought time.

09) Favourite romance?

Alright: Origins: Alistair (so hard to say no to him. Those puppy eyes.) DA2: Fenris - dark, broody with a gentle soul. Love him. Inquisition: Cullen. While I have romanced Bull and Blackwall, Cullen’s romance was so much more complete for me.

10) Have you read any of the comics/books?.

Not yet. I want to though.  

11) If you read them, which was your favourite book?

12) Favorite DLCs?

Jaws of Hakkon- it has a lot of lore in it, very lore heavy and it leaves me with a TON of questions. 

13) Things that annoy you.

That once you complete the main romance sequence there really isn’t anything more. Maybe I’m being greedy but I want more.

14) Orlais or Ferelden?

Ferelden. Dogs, sturdy men without pompous pants. Mask free. Sign me up. 

15) Templars or mages?

Mages. I feel they get a hard shake just for being born different. Plus if a templar negates their magic, it’s curtains for them. Unfair fight. 

16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?

Ah, they exist in different universes. I don’t really see how they could interact. Maybe one day but not now.

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

Origins: Fluffy DA2- Carver (lol) Inquisition: Inquisitor

18) Have you installed any mods?

No, wish I could though because omfg people have amazing mods!!!!

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?

Surana did what was asked of her. It was her only way out of the Circle. In a way she welcomed it, in another she exchanged a stone cage for a time cage. 

20) Hawke’s personality?

Purple with a touch of straight face.

21) Did you make matching armour for your companions in Inquisition?

Nope. I avoid plaidweave unless Blackwall is involved. Oh yes, lumberjack fantasies. 

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?  

Oh wow, uh... here we go:

Diana: She would have been at Kinloch. Pulled him out and taken him away. Kyrie: Grabbed her mother and hid. Hyacinth: Ran away before the Conclave. Kiera: Stayed with Cullen through his withdrawal longer. Found a way Lara: Told Fenris how she felt sooner.

23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?

Kyrie’s mother is an escaped mage from the Circle. Her father was a templar, who helped her escape.They lived as apostates on the outskirts of small towns for years. 

24) Are any of your character(s) based on someone?

Bits of myself really. 

25) Who did you leave in the Fade?

Stroud. Alistair is King in my timeline and happily married to his Surana wife.

26) Favourite mount?

Ok, I never used them. I know, I know, strange but I didn’t like them. No offense. I collected them, stocked my stable full but never used them.

Lycorisia Trevelyan was born in 9:18 Dragon, in the middle of Kingsway, making her the youngest, and last, daughter of Ser William Trevelyan and Madame Veronica Trevelyan. The family was relatively happy, and Lycorisia got along marvelously with her elder brother and sister. But, everything changed when she came into her magic. On 9:26 Dragon, shortly after her ninth name day, Lycorisia had burned down her family's stables due to her magic finally manifesting. She was charted off to the Circle, disowned by most of her family, and only received letters from her maternal aunt, Madame Arabella, and her elder brother, Hyacinth. Now, almost 15 years later, everything goes to, well, hell. What languages does Hyacinth speaks👀👀👀

Oooh quite a few actually!

Hyacinth enjoyed the benefits of Circle education and therefore is fluent in Common and Orlesian (both Chant and modern version), can read&write in modern Tevene, and knows some bits and pieces of ancient Tevene and old Allamari. Of course, she gained some and lost some knowledge in her travels and adventures - for example, her Tevene is getting rusty this days (not much ancient scrolls to deal with), she learned more of modern Elvhen from Velanna and Finn, some bits of Dwarven from Sigrun, and then she occasionally switches to ancient Elvhen without noticing thanks to her ghostly Arcane Warrior tutor…

So yeah, she got plenty to choose from :D

25. what did they plan for their life to look like before the events of the game happened?

Hyacinth mostly hoped to pass her Harrowing and then climb the ranks slow and steady up to senior enchanter somewhere in her 40s. The most daring ambition she had was to get appointed as a court enchanter one day, but it was more of a sweet unreachable daydream rather than a concrete goal — she knew it was down to either luck or a lot of scheming and was sure she would never have the guts to participate in this kind of politicking

Marinette tried her best to not build up any long term plans - she knew they'd have to leave Lothering one day and she would gave no choice but to follow her siblings and mother as their faithful protector.. but still somewhere deep down, in a very repressed corner of her soul Marinette hoped that Bethany will find someone who would be willing to protect her from templars, Carver would stay to look after mother and Marinette would get to travel all by herself wherever she wanted. It took her almost 10 years to admit that she even had this kind of thoughts tho

Before the Conclave Lambert was in a dark place — after the dissolution of the Circles he lost what little opportunity to avoid his duties he had (since his commanding officer was strongly on "we must hunt down every single rebel" side of things) and generally his plans didn't go farther than "i wish the next mage and/or abomination we meet kills me before anyone can stop them". What little part of his will to live still remained held on to feeble hope to maybe run away and spend however many days he had left in some abandoned shack in the woods, but it was buried very deep down and held back by his lyrium addiction (that Lambert is keenly aware of)

26. do they get a happy ending?

Surprisingly, yes — for all 3!

Hyacinth survives, gets over her grief for Alistair, finds new friends and love, and gets her sense of fulfillment from being a Warden Commander and arlessa. Even during Inquisition, despite everything, she saves her inner circle and at least part of other Ferelden Wardens (those stationed at Vigil and Soldier's Peak), reunites with Anders and Justice, and works tirelessly to find the cure for Calling (dunno if she succeeds, but the important thing is that she is hopeful and willing to go on rather than despairing and giving up on life)

Marinette finally leaves Kirkwall, gets to travel with Isabella, discovers that this whole time she was an aquatic animal and sailing brings her great joy, and at long last gets to deal with mental baggage she'd been carrying around for over a decade. Of course, she has to deal with the Inquisition mess, but at this point she is already in a much better place than she used to be.

For Lambert it's a bit harder to answer since i haven't finished the Inquisition yet and have pretty vague knowledge of Trespasser, but even now i can say that whatever state he ends up in, it's leagues away from where he started - he found new purpose in life, reunited with his dear older sister and is deeply in love with Dorian, now having actual will to live that he sorely lacked at the beginning

Hmmm good question!

Hyacinth's main way of expressing love is action - not sure if it can be categorized neatly as either acts of service or gifts or quality time, but if she loves someone she will absolutely do something about it.

On the receiving end she is a words of affirmation kind of girl - sincere compliments and just nice words are her weak spot.

btw been thinking about warden-as-companion scenario for hyacinth and ended up merging it with dalish!hyacinth AU

in it her mother managed to hide her from templars and then ran away from lothering and found zathrian's clan, where little hyacinth been raised as proper dalish mage

so during nature of the beast she can join warden's crew first to save her mother from the curse and then permanently, witnessing darkspawn in forest and deciding that she wants to help against blight - esp since she was not supposed to stay with clan for much longer cause there's plenty of mages in it and she would've been transfered to different clan come next arlathven

suffice to say she's way happier and secure in this Au

their paths may look similar, but in fact Bernard is way more laid back both about means to achieve his goals and just in general, while Hyacinth is an anxious mess and is less likely to engage in shady stuff (tho she still ends up in some, that's just the way of grey wardens)

also Bernard left Wynne in circle tower cause the squad isn't big enough for two posessed spirit healers (and he was worried about both her well-being after broken circle and the fact that she won't look kindly upon him learning bloodmagic)

15. What kind of sense of humor do they have? Or do they have one at all?

She sincerely likes Alistair's jokes :D

I guess her sense of humor depends more on her mental state rather than on some fixed preference - at her best she is pretty easy to make laugh; at her worst she would barely react to the best jokes ever conceived (she still can differentiate when one is supposed to react, she's just barely able to and so defaults to polite remark). On her own she usually adapts to the sense of humor of whoever she speaks with - she does gravitate a little to dry, very matter-of-fact kind of wit though.

20. Do they have a strong connection to their culture?

Depends on which culture to speak of! While she lived as a city, or rather country elf in the beginning of her life she didn't even identify herself as one; while in circle, she, of course, thought herself as circle mage only and was as circle-y as possible. Tho not from the start, but after joining the Wardens she eventually found herself drawn to order’s ideals and purpose, and eventually connection to Wardens overpowered connection to the circle - from Paragon of her Kind and forwards (roughly) she thinks of herself as Warden first and circle mage second (in contrast with Bernard - he is always a circle mage first).

But she is also half-Dalish, and while she longs to learn and touch her mother’s culture, she is painfully aware that she is very, very far from it - at least until she meets Velanna. By teaching her Arcane Warrior ways (and realizing exactly what kind of knowledge it is for Dalish) and being taught some Keeper spells Hyacinth slowly moves closer to connecting with her heritage. It happens even faster in multi-warden AUs where she gets to meet Mahariel - not only Merlin, while wary, is more approachable than Velanna, his vallaslin matches the one Hyacinth’s mother had, and with his aid she starts looking for her (it won’t come to fruition until Inquisition comes around, but they would reunite eventually) 

35. Do they believe in fate or do they believe they are in charge of their own destiny?

Latter! And to the point she feels like Everything that happens around (and beyond) her is at least somewhat depends on her - cue her micromanaging team climate in Origins where she puts way too much thought into team composition, does a lot of helping random people, etc. It bites her very badly after the Battle of Denerim - not only is she left grieving for Alistair, she feels like it's the fault of hers and hers only. She gets a bit better after Awakening - but more in the sense of "stops beating herself up faster" rather then "realizes not literally everything is the result of her actions" She is actually kinda similar with Marinette in that regard - except that with Marinette it manifests as “I have a purpose and I don’t give a shit whatever fate or Maker or anything else decided is supposed to happen, I’m gonna do what i need to do regardless”, i.e. while they both consider themselves fully responsible for everything that happens to them, Hyacinth does not believe in fate and cares about very wide variety of people and things, Marinette cares only about her family and doesn’t even bother to take any predestination into consideration. 

38. What are their dreams like? Do they have any recurring dreams/nightmares?

Before the Broken Circle it’s nothing special - a mix of unremarkable fleeing impressions and occasional tomfoolery by some spirits - tho she did used to have nightmares about being separated from her mother the first few years after arriving in the circle. After Broken Circle, however, she is terrified of the possibility of becoming an abomination, and spends months dreamless sleeping amongst wards (her increasing proficiency in spirit school doesn’t help matters). Only after meeting the ancient spirit in the amulet does she start to relax a bit about it and slowly starts to go back to normal sleep.. and then Alistair dies and it all starts again, now to ward off recurring dreams of him and his death. She gets rid of wards roughly six years later after finally finding peace with her loss.

23. do they have, or want to have, children?

Hyacinth became a Grey Warden at 19, and was kinda unamorous by Kinloch Hold standards - so she simply never had a chance to have any before taint and broodmothers killed her maternal instincts for good. And even if they didn't, both of her partners are also Grey Wardens, bringing the chances she'll ever have children to basically zero

19. are they afraid of death?

She used to, before the Blight - but after witnessing the many fates that made death look merciful in comparison and going through near-suicidal patch while grieving, Hyacinth is no longer scared of it. Thankfully, she also no longer welcomes it, but in some cases death as an option brings her a modicum of comfort (like when dealing with broodmothers)
