It's been almost a day and I'm still not over this. They really rapped inside that horse costume.

Heya! I hope you are doing well and thanks again for the translations! I was just curious about what you thought regarding the talk between Hifumi and Honobono in the Block Party drama track. I am unsure of what to think about the situation. Thanks so much!
This is a somewhat heavy topic that involves some degree of personal feelings, so I'll put it under a cut.
The fact that Hifumi wants to understand Honobono as a person and reach out to her once again doesn't come as a surprise, since it's consistent with Hifumi's characterization from day 1. From the very first Matenrou arc with the stalker to Hifumi being concerned about Doppo losing his job in the flashback scene in FP/M+ 8, Hifumi has always shown more concern for other people, even if they hurt him. I think this is supposed to be read as a positive thing--and it is very magnanimous of him and a trait I admire in him--but I also consider it, like Doppo does, a worrying thing. It's self-sacrificial to the point of being dangerous.
I likewise appreciate that Honobono is a character who, at least for now, is not being slapped with a black-or-white role of incontrovertibly evil. Hifumi is suggesting that she has the ability to grow and change to commit better actions, which is a message I always enjoy seeing in fiction. If Honobono takes the initiative and tries to act in better ways (I think the notion of "good people" or "bad people" is harmfully reductive, so I'm framing this in terms of actions), I would welcome a transformation arc.
But I dislike that the onus of the transformation is being placed on Hifumi and his ability to forgive her. My personal belief, speaking as both a victim and an aggressor in past traumatic situations, is that no one owns their abuser forgiveness or is responsible for helping their abuser grow into a wiser, more considerate person. In real-life situations, this is often dangerous, as the victim may end up being hurt further in the process. The abuser also does not have a right to access the victim's life. It's not on the victim to be "the bigger person," and the societal expectation that exists for them to stick around in the victim's life quite frankly disgusts me. It's more common to see this in fiction with the genders swapped, but either way, I firmly believe Hifumi isn't responsible for managing Honobono's emotions and the negative, harmful ways she chooses to express them.
At the same time, I can also accept that my personal beliefs don't align with the story that the Hypmic writers want to tell. And that's okay. It's fine to encounter stories that make me feel uncomfortable because they give me opportunities to examine where the discomfort is coming from and let me reevaluate my own ideas. I may choose to change my ideas or keep them as they are, but I'll have grown either way for thinking of it.
I'm sure others have had difficulty with this scene as well, and I hope that everyone who has struggled with it can find closure in their own way.

i really like how ep 6 emphasized my favorite part about fling posse which is how they all struggle with identity but find it in each other!
ramuda doesn't know what makes him unique/irreplaceable, gentaro is carrying a name and identity that isn't his, and dice has cut all ties to his family. they are everything to each other and ramuda defining himself as "someone who is special to gentaro and dice" makes me sob a little

i feel like i haven't seen anyone talking about akira and satoru from rhyme anima. (maybe i'm just not looking in the right places.) but that is such a crime. I'm so emotional about them.

btw i do think the saburo/ramuda duet is going to be the most lore heavy and/or intense song on either album. i love the cute fanart of them messing around but this next album seems lore heavy as is, and currently we know two things:
1) saburo's current mission is finding information on his mom
2) yamada mom is (likely) stored in the same place as the ramuda clones were
the reason i think saburo and ramuda have a duet is they are each other's answer. ramuda can help saburo learn about his mom, and saburo will probably have some means to help find information on ramuda's candies
intensity wise i just hope the song is as dark or trippy as requiem/pink iro no ai because we know both of them are capable of it

Thoughts on the 11th ep of Hypmic Rhyme Anima+. Spoilers beware
Season 1 | Ep.1 | Ep.2 | Ep.3 | Ep.4 | Ep. 5 | Ep. 6 | Ep. 7 | Ep. 8 | Ep. 9 | Ep. 10
eyyy separating them into their gumis! the gentaro and jyushi interaction is cute and i love how worried jyushi is about hifu thats so sweet of him
i love how thats the part that kuko focuses on www
LMAO ramuda's cute
i love how ichiro's accent just slipped out a bit there its cute
hm i still think kaibyakumon is in the right
Hey look at that! we finally got why kenji is so invested in them. would have liked to see more of the three but ill take what i can get
honestly i wanna ship akira and satoru so bad wwww they have so much ship potential
YES. THANK YOU RAMUDA. just let them destroy each other my goodness
idk if this show wants to villainize or humanize kaibyakumon. like on one hand everyone's against him on principle but i don't see why they should be?? Ramuda is right, hes the answer to 90% of the casts outside problems
RIP HITOYA LMAO
i love how samatoki is probably the only consistent character here and just wants to be the one to punch the government in the face www
ugh i really wanted ramuda to have won that argument. it suckksss they really went with the most boring path
poor doppo, i feel so bad for him
even poor hifumi can't stand to watch ripp
i love seeing rio in his element, hes kinda cute like that
lmao rei being waving off his own son as if hes just a brat
man i do hope that they get their just revenge. it would be nice but unfortunately impossible just because of the nature of this sort of anime
LMAO HES SO EXHAUSTED THAT HES HALLUCINATING OH NOOOOOOO i feel so bad for doppo sometimes
wow for all that talk of stealth rio just blew up a whole wall
OOOOO GUMI SONG!!!!!!!!!!
hmm i don't like the last two songs as much but there is intresting wordplay to be found in ciaro's verses, especially one as an anti-governmental piece
damn so it seems like the last three episodes will be just the gumis going to each place and fighting off the others
oooo theres a bit of rio's rap ability on show with that shelter
HAHA DICE PUSHING RIO AWAYYYY
OH FUCK ARE THEY CORRUPTING THE DATA TO THE POINT WHERE THEY"RE KILLING AKIRA AND SATORU??????
ey look at that!! I did sort of predict the mass hypnosis! granted its subliminal messaging but im fine with being wrong once in a while
LMAO GAMBLER LIFE
damn theyre still gay after death
the "whos gonna answer my questions" has the same vibe as "who else will I eat icecream with?" thing from kingdom hearts wwww
bro i want a season just about these two idiots
hmm intresting design for scuro i do like it
man now i really do like akira and satoru. they're cool. I hate this bc i know in the end they'll die and kaibyakumon will get his ass kicked to preserve the status quo. i do hope that the anime does use this as a jumping off point tho bc the premise is pretty fun
tho they probably won't. as i said status quo as long as the source material still insists on the current status quo of keeping chuuoku in power. The drama CDs do seem like its building towards a conclusion but its not enough for any meaningful change yet.
tho the anime is original content and thus exists in a separate sphere from the CDs. Its entirely possible that they may move ahead and start shaking things up but i doubt it
lol why the dotsuhon ed they got so little screen time this episode ripp them

Fandom: Hypnosis Mic
Characters: Otome Tohoten, Original female character
Synposis: There has been a weird observation with one of Chuohku’s members. The sudden change of a mother, from looking out for her daughter to suddenly no longer acknowledging her. Just what is going on?

Words: 1,503
Results, if you want to make it anywhere, those are the most important. Especially if you wish to be part of the Party Of Words. There was no need for slackers or those who only did their work half–heartedly. Such people are to be disposed of. You either take this seriously or just don’t bother at all. There was no in between. That was the only possible way to operate.
So seeing someone perform extraordinarily well was more than a pleasant surprise. It was a welcoming one, seeing that there were still people who were willing to give it their all, for the tomorrow the Party Of Words is working so hard for.
One of such members has been showing more of an effort than ever before, one thing which has not slipped Otome’s sight. In fact, she has always taken note of it. It was not as if this was a recent development. The member in question had always been this way, just as eager as everyone else to make a change. In fact, during one of their first one on one conversations she had made this more than obvious.
“So? May I ask why you have decided to join us? Of course only if you like to be open about it.”
“Oh, there is no special reason for it, Miss Tohoten. I just happen to agree with your words. Women should have a bigger voice in society. And I wish to be working towards that goal as well!"
Her words were honest, a woman who wished to jump into action yet had no means before to do so. After all, who would listen to a mere woman, especially if she held no power of any kind? It was hard to get by and the party seemed to be the one opportunity she had been waiting for. Because ever since joining she held nothing back. She was pouring her entire energy into this since day 1, an eager and vocal supporter. And even more so once having been offered a position within Chuohku itself and climbing the ranks ever since. Even if she did not look like much at first glance.
A blonde looking younger than Otome herself. But this was laughable as the woman in question was a little older than the leader, even if just by a few years. Yet most would not assume such a thing, given the official was assumed to be in her thirties, maybe forties. The mother of a child around Otome’s own age? No one would even assume such a thing. But that was the truth. Otome had seen the young girl herself.
Though much to everyone’s dismay the girl had been dismissed some time ago, breaking the trust far enough that there had been no choice. Letting criminals off the hook, disobeying direct orders and even stealing what was originally ‘gouverment property'… Well, even if someone should not refer to a cat as such.
Originally this was meant to be punished one way and one way only – Imprisonment. Even if the girl was capable, her behavior was inexcusable. If it has not been for Kadenokoji’s word she would have met said fate, yet the words were swaying enough for Otome to consider otherwise.
“She shouldn’t be a threat to us if we take away her Hypnosis Microphone. No one would believe her word to begin with. Hilda probably has an eye on her child as well. Imprisonment won’t be necessary.”
Compelling arguments. And yet, it was interesting that Kadenokoji was ready to defend this girl altogether, as if she had not just proven to be a nuisance. But the moment she had heard Hilda’s name… Maybe that had struck a chord at the very end. After all, having to hear that your own kid is going to prison… She shouldn't be talking, having advised her husband to do the same thing, to set an example for their son, yet it was devastating regardless. She knew and making a fellow mother go through the same thing… Perhaps she has a secret soft spot. And it was not impossible to argue. So in the end Otome had agreed.
“Very well. She shouldn’t cause us any trouble under those circumstances.”
Though it may as well have been a slap on the wrist.
Regardless, it had been time for a check up as this incident had taken place several weeks ago. The girl is no more and someone had decided to pick up her slack. That someone was Hilda, having volunteered. Was it to cover up what her daughter had caused and clean up evidence to not get her further evicted? That was Otome’s first guess. After all, Hilda seemed to be very fond of her, having not just sung her praises for her capabilities but putting her a little ahead.
“I’m sorry, I have to leave. My daughter is coming home earlier than planned. And I can’t let her touch even a pot in this house or who knows what she will do to the kitchen!”
“My kid seems happier? Oh yes, she is. Good riddance of that good–for–nothing guy she dated. Would you believe me if I said that we both celebrated that night~?”
She was even ready to stand up for the girl when necessary. One time someone had talked down on her, making Hilda almost freak out. “You insult her more time and I will teach you a lesson personally! If it had not been for her, then you might not have seen the light of day ever again! So instead of complaining that she took your ‘weapon’, you should be grateful instead!”
It was not rare for Hilda to talk about her daughter, so Otome figured that this was the reason behind it. Cover up the tracks. And that made Hilda’s response even odder.
It was something Otome had led into subtly, or so she had hoped. She had summoned Hilda to her office, wanting to have a report on current circumstances, on the areas she was currently supervising. There was of course nothing out of the ordinary and that had not tipped Otome off. It was something else… The response to the question having followed shortly after:
“How is Ann doing?”
“Miss Tohoten… Who is Ann?” She had not even hesitated. The answer shot out of the woman’s mouth, as if it had just been fired. There was no stuttering, no holding back… And it seemed to be no type of joke either.
It had left even someone like Otome speechless for a moment. She would usually keep her expressions in tact, hiding them behind the usual cold facade. She dared not to show anything, otherwise she would make herself vulnerable. And yet, even that had put her in a state of disbelief… Her own eyes went at least a little wider than usual. She had… Not expected a response like that now.
“Ahem… I am speaking of your daughter.” She responded, trying to stay calm. Something was off yet she could not point out what it was. Was it the lack of resistance? The cold delivery? The lack of knowledge which sounded genuine?
“Daughter?” The blonde repeated however, even colder than before. She seemed to have no interest in this whatsoever. Even her head tilted, uncomfortably so, her blue gaze unbelievably blank, lacking light in them. Was this a new thing or had she always been this way? “I don’t have one.”
There it was again. She seemed to insist. “What a–”
“I don’t have a child.” A bold statement, so bold that it would leave shivers down anyone’s spine. Otome had to admit that this was unsettling, uncharacteristic for Hilda. The woman who had suggested her daughter to join, make her part of Chuohku and always bringing her up in conversations. Yet… Actually, had Hilda recently? Come to think of it…
“Please, don’t just make stuff up like that.” The other woman had even said, tone unchanging before turning away from the desk. The conversation was abrupt yet Otome had been somewhat caught off guard by this, to the point that it was hard for her to talk back properly, ask questions. And it seemed that Hilda had insisted, her tone only becoming colder with each word she uttered. “I don’t have a daughter nor did I ever have one. Have a good day.”
There was no further words needed and Hilda left the room shortly after, excusing herself out in the end, not waiting for permission to leave. She had just walked out of the room, not saying anything further.
It was one odd instance and someone might excuse it one way or another… And yet, Otome had seen enough already to know that this is a change which would not happen overnight. The feelings changing on a whim, just like that… No, that was impossible. Something like this was too sudden., wasn’t it?
So that only begs one question… What game is Hilda playing at?

Hi Slug! So you've been reading the manga and the drama tracks from the start right? So do you have any theories about how Ramuda can be saved? Do you think Jakurai will have a big play in saving his life, or do you think it'll remain a fling posse story only? Or do you think hypmic will kill him off? I'd love to hear your thoughts and read any rambles you may have :)
Spoilers for Block Party below a cut
Hmm... For a long time, I was under the impression that Jakurai would be involved with somehow miraculously curing Ramuda. But with the introduction of the Pacific Rim!mecha!Hypmics, I'm leaning more towards Fling Posse power-of-friendship'ing him back to full health. Right now, it seems like the old friends are reconnecting as less antagonistic rivals, sort of like Pokemon rivals. So I don't think Jakurai will play a huge role, but I could always be wrong.
With that being said, I am 99.9% sure they won't kill him off. If nothing else, he makes King Records too much money.

my heart breaking and shattering into millions of pieces thinking about how dice’s main fears and anxieties are around the idea he isn’t loved.
from his perspective, otome abandoned him. in her own words, she sent him away to protect him, but i doubt he knew or understood that.
during catch us if you can, it’s pretty clear-cut what gentaro is doing, and specifically what he’s sacrificing for ramuda, because it’s a physical object (the manuscript).
but what dice is doing is gambling on a question he has been avoiding; whether his mom loves him at all. before he had the manuscript, his only plan was to call her, supposedly to try to appeal to her heart because he didn’t have any leverage over her yet. all he had was the fact he was her son. but already, with each call that gets denied, it feels like a confirmation that she really doesn’t care about him.
he told gentaro that he could get the most out of the manuscript; and that was his last chance of testing if the fact that he’s her son meant anything to her. and honestly, based on his reaction, i feel like he didn’t get what he wanted. she doesn’t react to him even when he screams at her. when otome gives her final offer, he just seems so hurt that him being her son doesn’t seem to mean anything to her.
gentaro and ramuda are overjoyed with the results, but i feel like dice really expected more. gentaro’s sacrifice was losing part of his brother, but dice’s sacrifice was confirmation that he doesn’t have a mother.

Thoughts on the 13th and final ep of Hypmic Rhyme Anima+. For one last time, spoilers beware
Season 1 | Ep.1 | Ep.2 | Ep.3 | Ep.4 | Ep. 5 | Ep. 6 | Ep. 7 | Ep. 8 | Ep. 9 | Ep. 10 | Ep. 11 | Ep. 12
Final episode lets gooooo I'm sad that it been such a ride but all good things must come to an inevitable end
Damn i hoped there would be a chuuoku girls song
HAHAHA FOLDING LIKE PAPER
good, let it be destroyed, it would save the plot honestly
OOO new secret aliens song? Oh that english was smoothhhhh tom's VA's pronounciation has become very nice
LMAO poor kuko
awwww thats so soft of him, living in a willing illusion
as they should, good for them. Honestly i don't hate chuuoku but it just find it weird that get why the main characters wouldn't team up with him when their goals align
LETS GO I CALLED IT, I hope they actually don't use jakurai to heal him tho it feels like it would be a waste of character to do so
ah so a battle of differing ideals to a common goal? unfortunate if only they talked and let themselves come to a compromise, they would have been fine
oh thats cool, i like that speaker concept. very crumbling empire. very litterally hyakiyakou huh
hahaha that upsidown star is so on the nose that this man is The Big BadTM oh my gods hypmi does not know the meaning of subtle
awwww even in spirit they are still alive. Its the whole you die twice, once with your physical body and second with your memories
I love the typography for kaibyakumon's rap, its really pretty and the effects? damn the eam who worked on this particular rap really busted their asses huh.
something i do with they had akira and satoru speak with a bit more of an accent. like i get it, they moved to tokyo when they were young but they did come from nagoya and oosaka respectively. Betcha didn't know that huh, its only a tidbit on the official site
wwwww return of the sunfish!
hm, at least he makes some sense. I still don't like it but it does seem like a logical conculsion
oh thats proper body horror imagery there i do like it, very creepy
aww power of gay and friendship
i do think this song is nice, it has good flow and the beat is pretty nice with lots of oppertunies to change the genre. Like this big group piece is probably the bridge which is a nice connector to any more hard hitting places
and honestly i do like that they went for a softer approach here, that the thing that won in the end wasn't perpetuated violence but something gentle.
please don't actually, it would be fun if they were dead
oh i like the fact that []'s face is covered in shadows giving her the feeling of evil intent.
noooo poor doppo rippp
LMAO rip them their all stuck here
ah i do like having them being battle idiots, theyr so silly
eyyy hoodstars! ah, this was a nice final episode
i feel like it wasn't the best ending out there but it was satisfying. tied up some ends pretty nicely and kept the status quo without mucking canon up too hard. As an anime original storyline i think they handled it quite well
WHile I don't have all the thoughts to encompass this episode yet, it was overall really nice! i enjoyed the story overall and while the pacing was meh as always and you could tell where the budget went, the anime introduced really good characters that I really enjoyed. Beginning Gate quartet was so much more intresting to me than Secret Aliens. THe only thing I wish they could have done better is put some more focus on BAT and DH as it is their anime debut. Oh well, I'm happy with what we got anyways.
