hyrule snap is of course the hit new video game for nintendo switch that has swept the globe to almost universal acclaim. @nightpool and @ot3 wanted to see some of my "nature photography" (part 2 here)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I would consider these 'perfect' animal shots; they're high contrast and there's even more than one animal in the larger shot for most of them. I spent an hour of in-game time staked out to get the arowana leaping
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these are shots I like but will retake at some point to get bigger or with higher contrast. you are rewarded by physically getting close to your quarry--one thing totk did is actually reduce the 'resolution' of your photos as you zoom in. I have a lot of very zoomed-in bird pics with 'pixels' the size of a man
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these are likewise perfect monster shots. note the octorok's projectile about to clock me clean upside the head
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
these monster pics will get reshot but I really like the poses I got. the wheezing wizzrobe who just needs a second. the top ten anime moments before black moblin disaster. the boss boko with his ducklings is funny to me; I just have to get the picture physically closer and on a sunnier day (hyrule doesn't have a real golden hour, either)
bonus: I like to shoot equipment in situ when possible. local twink jailed for taking creepshots, claimed 'was just trying to get a good angle on the gerudo scimitar'

"The Storm and a Siren"
Wind was elated to be back on Outset. The problem? The last portal separated the group and he had to search the whole Great Sea to find them.
When he finds all of them but their veteran, he's questioning why he even worried and got into an argument with Tetra over finding them as soon as possible.
When they finally find Legend, Wind remembers that even heroes are not exempt from the cruelty of the sea and its inhabitants.
Febuwhump 2024 | Prompt 5: Rope Burns
Read on AO3
Warnings: mentions of rape (mentioned but did not/will not take place, nor come close to), Wind curses a lot
Wind wasn't sure what to do. To start with, he was back home, but that wasn't the problem.
His problem was that the portal that brought them here was one of those damned separation portals. He didn't know where any of his brothers were and that was his problem.
Tetra, thank the Ocean King, was on Outset when he showed up. After he explained to her the situation and figured out none of the other heroes ended up on Outset, they set out to find them.
It wasn't too hard, just time consuming even with his control of the winds. Tetra hated magic near her ship, but after a rather heated argument that had him cashing in one of his only favors as well as snapping at her in a way he'd never done before because "his brothers might be dying!" She let him use the Windwaker, but refused to let him fly them.
That was good enough. He blew storms away from their path, gave them a strong wind to keep them going.
They found Twilight on Horseshoe Island, and comically Hyrule on Fairy Island where the Great Fairy was rather reluctant to let him leave despite Hyrule hightailing it to their ship the moment he mentioned it.
They came up on Diamond Steppe by day seven and, no storm in sight, saw a huge blast of lightning take out a Big Octo. ONE HIT! It turned out to be Sky and Wild, the latter having made a raft that they'd tried to sail off to find them. They were both grinning like idiots and waving when they realized it was Wind, Twilight, and Hyrule. Wind wondered how Sky was considered a responsible adult when hE FUCKING SMITED A BIG OCTO!
Day eleven they reached Tingle Island where Time was, and not unlike Hyrule, their leader had sped to the ship the moment he was made aware of its existence, going far away from the main resident who gave the island its name.
Sky wanted to smite another Big Octo, saying he'd never summoned lightning before and he wanted to try again. Tetra was the one who vehemently denied him, causing everyone else to sigh in relief, except for Wild and Hyrule who egged him on.
Though, it weren't for the fact they were on a ship, Wind probably would've been doing the same.
Day twenty one, they found Warriors on Dragon Roost Island with three Big Octos smite... smitten... smote? STRUCK BY MAGIC LIGHTNING by both Sky and Hyrule.
Wind wondered why he had been so worried about his brothers. Ocean or not, they could handle themselves.
They made landfall at a market isle, Wind staying on ship while the others went to gather supplies. He scoured over the map, the searched islands, and wondered where in the ocean the scholar was. Legend was still nowhere to be found, though the Forsaken Fortress was still un-searched...
He really didn't want to go back to the Forsaken Fortress. But that and the reefs hadn't yet been searched. He supposed they'd do that next, he hoped--
Shit! He didn't tell them he was out of potions too!
Wind quickly left the ship, he hadn't been the only person on it so it wasn't unguarded, and went toward the market.
He found the potion stall easily, having memorized where it was a long time ago. As he was waiting for his potions to be filled, he overheard some chatter.
"Hey, did ya hear? Ol' Cap'n Jones caught a gen-u-ine selkie."
Wind's interest was immediately piqued, he had traveled across the entire Great Sea and hadn't met a single selkie, the Red Lion had said they were myths.
"No," was the response. "I don’t believe that fer a moment."
"Yeah? Well listen closely, brother." Wind spotted the two people talking and saw them lean toward one another. They were dumb to talk about this in public, but... "He's gonna do a whole display t'nite. An' he ain't known f'r bein' a lovin' lover. I 'eard he's gonna--"
"Here ya go, Link. Three reds, greens, and coupl'a blue. I didn' know ya used magic."
Wind heard a bark of laughter from the men as they walked off, but he gave the potioneer a smile. "I don’t, but some of my crew does and you know it's good to be prepared."
She laughed. "Ain't that the truth. And lose that fancy accent 'round here, kid. It's only gonna get ya in trouble."
Wind snorted but he waved and left.
A selkie... Wind was no stranger to the darker sides of the world, thirteen though he may be, he was also a pirate and had seen plenty of gruesome things even outside of his adventures. It was nice to act otherwise around the other heroes, but he had grown up around sailors who loved to talk about their conquests, especially when they thought he wasn't listening. And in their defense... he was supposed to be asleep, in his bed, on the other side of Outset, but that's not the point.
The point was, there was a Captain Jones somewhere on this isle and he was gonna rape someone. Selkie or not, Wind was not letting that happen.
Now if she said she was doing it willingly, then he was hightailing it out of there. But as the legends go, selkies never did anything willingly except run.
Lightning-happy older brothers in tow, Wind snuck through the docks. There was only so many ships on or by the shore, and even less that were active enough to have a public show ongoing.
Finding it was easy.
Seeing it was awful.
The selkie, and Wind realized it was more of a siren than a selkie, probably a mistake of communication, was hanging by their arms above the deck like a giant fish on display for the whole marina to see.
They were huge too, a regular sized human torso covered in scars, long blonde hair coming down just beneath their shoulder blades, but the tail was probably seven feet alone and was a iridescent deep to pastel pink that glittered in the warm lantern light.
If it weren't for the ropes tied tightly around their arms, hanging them over the deck as they thrashed and probably burned their arms with the ropes, Wind would've called the siren a thing of pure oceanic beauty. They were something some sailors spent their whole lives in pursuit of.
Their tail hit someone who came far too close.
"I thought you said they'd be trying to bed the prisoner," Hyrule whispered, the four of them hidden behind barrels. "Nobody could bed a fish."
Wind shrugged. "I told you exactly what I heard, wording and all. They also thought it was a selkie but that's a siren, or a mer. Selkies are seals in water, or out, and can shed their coat to take on a human-like form. There's some myths of an in-between version, but those are scales, not blubber or fur. It's probably just a show off of his catch and maybe some torture."
"Doesn't matter," Wild interrupted. "That's a sentient creature, maybe even a descendant of your Zora who adapted to living in the water unlike their Rito descendants."
"We'll get them free," Sky assured. "We're not even close enough to see their face. Let's get closer first."
Wind nodded. He led the way and they slipped closer, hearing laughter and jeering and admittedly lewd taunts but also a lot of violent ones echo across the docks.
They drew closer and Wind chanced a look.
He could see the siren's face.
"Oh fuck," Wind breathed.
"What?"
"It's the vet!"
It was Legend. Hung with rope by his arms, with huge tail from the waist down, that streak of pink in his hair was much more prominent and it plastered against a soaked face. He snarled, amethyst eyes crazed and he looked feral.
Wind had never seen their composed scholar like that, and based off the wounded noise from Hyrule, the sharp inhale from Wild, and the snarl from Sky, they hadn't either.
Legend swung himself and his huge tail smacked someone else and sent them off the ship and into the water. He bared sharp fangs.
"Alright! Time for the main event!" Someone declared, walking down from the stern. If Wind had to wager a guess, that was Jones.
Legend visibly faltered, Wind never expected to see fear flash in his brother's eyes. Not that one's. "Legend" and "scared" should never be in the same sentence, unless it was that he scared someone else, and yet...
"He looks scared of him," Hyrule whispered, and he was absolutely right.
Legend looked downright terrified of Captain Jones.
"Oh hell no," Sky snarled. "Not my kid."
Wind couldn't warn him that storming up on a boat of rowdy pirates here for entertainment was not a good idea before Sky was boarding the ship.
"Ohhh, that's not good," Wild said and Wind wholly agreed. "Those guys are not surviving."
...What?
"HEY!"
Sky shoved his way, new lightning powers crackling off him, through the crowd and onto the deck.
Legend had twisted to look at him and Wind saw his eyes light up, heard his melodic thrill that must've meant happiness or something.
Sky stood right between Legend and Captain Jones. "I'll give you ten seconds to cut him down before I do it myself and sink your whole ship while I'm at it."
The laughter was insulting but Wind nudged the others.
"Come on. We have to get the scholar down and get him clear before the sky knight actually smites the place."
Both their eyes widened and came to the same conclusion he did that a siren--a Hylian transformed into a siren or not--would not handle an electrical attack well.
"I'll cut, you catch, wait for Chosen's signal."
They moved quickly.
"Now look 'ere, we captured that siren fair an' square, you ain't got a lick ov'a right to 'im. Get your ass off mah ship before I throw ya off."
Legend snarled, twisting.
"You want rights?" Sky demanded. "You want to throw around threats?! Fine."
Sky moved forward.
"My right? First, he is not something you can have a right to, secondly, he is mine. I have equal claim over him as a parent does their child." He drew his sword, pointing it to the clouded sky. "As for threats? How about a promise. I'll strike this boat with lightning and drown every single spirit but my own on it."
If it weren't for the electricity crackling off Sky, Wind knew the crowd would've laughed. But the Chosen Hero radiated danger and the air smelt of ozone.
Jones did laugh. "That's a neat trick there, brat," his voice turned sharp and harsh. "But everyone knows magic died in hylians centuries ago. Back when the flood took this world."
Sky snarled. "Then it's a damn good thing I'm from centuries ago."
Wind swung his sword and sliced through the rope that held Legend up. Something yellow exploded and Hyrule and Wild flew past on a barrel, snatching Legend before he finished falling.
Wind leapt over the side just in time as lightning crackled through the sky and ripped apart the ship.
He swam to shore and found Legend back to Hylian and clothed (did the transformation steal his clothes too?) but shaking.
Hyrule was hugging him, Wild putting some kind of paste on reddened arms.
"'M sorry, 'm'sorry--"
Wind hated this. Legend was one of the strong ones, he had told very few stories but each one had Wind feeling sick because Legend had been younger than Aryll when he started.
Now he looked like the kid he probably was never able to be, and that was coming from Wind, who had gone on half as many adventures at a young age.
"Shh, it's okay, it's alright," Hyrule insisted.
"Goddess, this is bad," Wild groaned. Legend flinched and jerked his arm, Wild let go easily. "No, it'll heal, I promise. It's just--I've never seen rope burns this bad."
Wind drew closer. "Vet?"
Legend looked up sharply. "S-Sailor--No, no, I can't--"
"It's okay," Hyrule insisted. "You're allowed to be weak, Veteran. You’re allowed to hurt."
"No, no--I'm sorry, I can't--Please, it hurts--" Legend choked on a sob.
Wild gave Hyrule the bottle of gel and gestured Wind away, as they moved Wind spotted someone running along the beach toward them.
Sky.
"The salt water irritated the burns bad, and you said your water's toxic, so we're waiting to clean them before Hyrule heals them," Wild explained. "Fastest way to somewhere safe?"
"Just straight back to the market town," Wind said as Sky ran up. He turned to him. "He's over there but--"
Wild grabbed Sky's arm before he passed him. "Be careful. It... It would probably be better if you switched with Rulie. The Scholar isn't taking this well, and between the burns and... he seems to think he can't be vulnerable in front of us, that doesn't help."
Sky nodded firmly. Wild let go of him and he crossed the last ten feet in an instant.
Wind didn't know they were ancestor and descendant, but Sky had claimed Legend as his on that ship and Oceans, whoever said the ocean was dangerous and violent clearly had never seen Sky get protective of those he cares about.
Sky dropped to his knees in front of Legend, and soon Hyrule was shifting backward and Sky was wrapping Legend up in his sailcloth, promising safety and assuring him that he was right here.
"Can you carry him, Skyloftian?" Wind asked. "We should get back to the ship, get our Scholar fixed up."
Sky hummed softly. He murmured something to the veteran hidden in his sailcloth and whatever his response was had to be something of an affirmative. Sky stood up carefully, arranging Legend in his arms in a way still that the sailcloth blocked him from view.
Wind couldn't see Legend anymore, but if he was honest?
He really didn't want to.

AHHHHHHHHH I FIGURED OUT HOW REUNION WILL WORK AMD ITS GENIUS
Okay so in canon Reunion, Sasha is sent to execute hop pop and blah blah blah. But, in CiH (meh need to work on the abbreviation), Sasha is with the gorons they don't got no beef with anyone. But Anne is at this moment in time serving the king as a kinda sheikah. So it's like reversed. Anne is sent on a mission to prove her loyalty, she's told to assassinate some goron for whatever reason (idk he like won at cards against the king or some stupid shit). She's all sad about having to take a life and I'm just gonna write this next part out you'll see.
*Anne is pinning a goron against a wall, knife to his throat. She is disguised in her sheikah getup.*
Anne: Look, I'm sorry, I don't know what you did but I'm sorry. *Tears fall from her face as the goron catches sight of something behind them.* I have to do this or he won't help me. I'm so sorry.
*Anne shifts, but just before she can make the cut she is interrupted by a rock thrown at her. Startled, she throws down a smoke bomb and dissappears*
Sasha: Get away from him! *Sasha rushes towards the goron but is stopped by the sudden knife at her throat.*
Anne: Look, I don't know who you are, but if you leave now I won't have to hurt you too. Please. *Her eyes are full of tears and she doesn't recognize the person in front of her.*
*Sasha rears back to punch the assassin, but stops once she hears their voice.*
Sasha: A-Annie? *Her voice breaks at the realization that her friend was about to hurt, and potentially kill her.*
*Anne blinks and drops the dagger, cutting Sasha slightly, staggering backwards. She pulls down her mask, eyes filled with dread.*
Anne: S-Sasha? *Her eyes widen with fear.* Oh no, oh no, I can't-
*Anne continues to back up, pulling her mask back up. Just before she throws another smoke bomb down, she mouths one word to Sasha. Sorry.*
*Sasha falls to her knees, mind still reeling from the confrontation. The goron rushes up to her, thanking her for saving his life, but she doesn't react. She stares blankly at the spot Anne disappeared from, and touches the fresh cut.*

I’ve said it a few times, but I think totk needs a sort of pacifist mode for the world. So nothing attacks you and you get to traverse at your leisure. Maybe one where you get the camera and compendium up front and you’re basically photographing your way through hyrule.
Damn, now I want Hyrule Snap the game. But less on rails, just here is a camera go make the best wildlife, fauna and weapons catalogue pictures hylianly possible.

when night falls in hyrule do you think the yiga clan all sleep together like woodland critters in a nest or do they clock out from work and go home to their wife and kids like any other, hang the mask on the coat rack like ‘whew tough shift today’ and the wife, doubtful he even has a job as hyrule’s minimum wage is well above the measly 2 blue rupees + 1 green he brings to the table, snaps back with ‘don’t think i didn’t notice the blonde hairs on your suit. you’ve been out with that HUSSIE again haven’t you?’ and he’s like ‘rebeega (sheikah form of rebecca) it’s not what you think but there are certain parts of my line of work i can’t ever explain to you.’

I got two asks about hyrule snap
I think for maximum enjoyment you will figure out what works best for you but here are a couple of tips:
getting the full stealth gear is good. but also unequipping your weapon, shield, and bow reduces your noise level (as you can see in the HUD). I don't know if this is placebo or not but it seems to me that beyond simply having three points in stealth making less noise lets you get closer to things. obviously this has backfired on me hilariously many times as a stalmoblin spawns at dusk and kills me instantly
(minor gear spoiler) the glow gear or a three-point glow buff will help you light your own shots. brightbloom seeds can also be artfully deployed for a cooler glow. this is great for getting crisper pictures in faron, for instance, where it's always hazy. the steps left behind by the full glow gear are good too. I haven't tried a zonai light yet but it seems like it would work insanely well
Tumblr media
(righthand image taken wearing glow gear in faron)
you can also set up a fire to take better-lit pictures of things like snow wolves.
try to keep eight or more shots open in your album.
if all your shots are coming out looking shitty save and quit out and let the switch get some stamina back. REAL THING THAT HAPPENS. game of the year

Times that the chain forgot Wolfie is Twilight (Fluff for day 3 of Febuwhump)
Here's some fluff to soothe the soul.
Wind
Was super tired that day
Saw Wolfie laying down and flopped on top of the wolf
Sailor was asleep as soon as his head was resting on Wolfies side
Twilight didn't mind, but he definitely doesn't prefer it
It becomes a regular occurrence later, much to his chagrin
(he doesn't really mind that much, he's just keeping up appearances)
 Warriors
Wakes up from a nightmare
Ends up cuddling with Wolfie
Maybe cries a little bit
Twilight politely doesn't bring it up the next morning
He does keep a careful eye on Wars the next day and offers silent support
Four
He doesn't forget as often as the others might
But every so often he finds himself idly scratching Wolfies ears
Red does it most out of the colors
But they all do it
Twilight doesn't mind
He low-key enjoys it from time to time
Hyrule
Rulie sometimes forgets Twilight is Wolfie
And that Wolfie is a nice wolf
He has startled in a sleepy state and drawn his sword on Wolfie before
Twilight takes note to approach slower as Wolfie
Or just transform back to his hylian form
He would never hold it against Rulie, he understands that wolves are not the nicest
Time
He lives on a ranch
He for sure has been around farm dogs
When he's super focused/distracted he’ll give Wolfie commands
The one that got the most laughs was when Wolfie/Twi was trying to snap Time out of his own head
And Time on impulse told Wolfie “No bite.”
Neither lived that down for a while
Legend
He also wakes from a nightmare
Lege decides that he needs a walk and Wolfie goes with
He ends up venting at some point
Twilight never mentions the stuff Legend said that night
But makes sure that Wolfie is there to supervise more late night walks as they seem to help
Sky
Completely forgets that Twilight is Wolfie
Baby talk
Skritches
Treats
Praise
The whole nine yards
Twilight learns to appreciate it, despite the others teasing
It's kind of nice to get praise just for existing sometime
Wild
Wild almost never forgets
However, if injured or really out of it, he completely forgets
Wolfie becomes like his companion in his era
Subject to all the cuddles and silly questions and weepy venting
Wild has admitted to Wolfie his fear of disappointing Twilight
Twi always makes sure to reassure Wild when he's more aware of reality

I’ve done sooo much yapping about Warriors today, here are some headcanon about some of the others!
- Twilight’s hair grows similarly to a wolf’s pelt in that his roots are just permanently very dark and his hair is incredibly thick (I also think his hair is definitely a red toned brown)
- Time is not at all a natural born leader or an intentional father figure. He’s just very kind and genuinely wants to help others, and everyone else has really bad Daddy Issues. He’s not being fatherly on purpose and has no idea they’re all interpreting it that way
- More on that: The others all see Time as this stoic, mysterious man, but the reality is Time has HORRIBLE control of his facial expressions and will sit down and think his silly little thoughts and the others will be like “WOAH- He must be THINKIN- Hylia, he’s so wise!!!” but Time’s thoughts are actually just “Did I clean my sword… Wild was hurt earlier I hope he’s feeling better… Is this how Warriors felt about me during the War…”
- Wild is very extroverted and a reasonably chatty guy. He knows like EVERYONE in his era and they all just adore him (except that flower lady by that shrine). He’s cautious around new people because of the yiga, but the town regulars are people he very much enjoys chatting with
- Part of the reason Legend is so grumpy is because he has chronic pain, he doesn’t mean to snap at people. The other part is that he struggles to control his tone. He’s never intentionally rude or cruel to people, he’s incredibly nice and sweet once he relaxes around people
- Warriors and Legend have gotten into a full on physical brawl at least twice over a bet and Time had to break them up
- Sky will wander off with Hyrule and Wild sometimes to find more wood to carve
- Wind is a SHOCKINGLY good artist, he likes drawing places he’s been and the people around him. The others are just impressed he can sit still long enough to finish a piece
- Four would regularly take walks by himself, but Twilight got anxious about him disappearing off alone so he’d join him, but as Wolfie, out of respect of the fact that Four didn’t want Hylian company
- Hyrule has healing magic but is/was NOT a medic, or trained to be one at all. He knew a few basic things from his quest, but the more complex things he learned from Warriors who was trained as a field medic
- Wild is very independent, and is very responsible when he wants to be. He just… rarely WANTS to be

Legend honestly is just bad at talking to people, so when his inability to be nice when trying to tell someone to take some personal regard for their safety (at least from his perspective) is called out, he decides to fall back on some old, fairly unhealthy coping mechanisms: specifically, silence.

Ancient Loz AU Story
Tumblr media
10,000 years before the events of BOTW the Princess of Hyrule and the Hero who wields the sword that seals the Darkness first fought off the Calamity. With the help of the Sheikah, Guardians, Champions and the Divine Beasts. However, the hero and her best friend; the Prince of the Gerudo, were now missing. The only one to return from the fight was the Princess… Bloodied and bruised. She emerged from the castle alone. No longer the energetic, and free spirited person she used to be. Now, she is filled with a sole dedication to her Kingdom. But cold, and filled with deep sorrow. She orders the Sheikah to create shrines to train the next hero. They prepare the towers, store the Guardians under the castle till they are needed. Research started on the slate where it can be used for building infrastructure and even battle. Anything to help prepare for another Calamity.
The Gerudo Prince wasn't seen again and the heroes identity was forgotten But, the Royal blood of Hylia lives on….
Tumblr media
Link is from a traveling caravan. His family has blood from the ancient Zonai tribe. He travels with a decent size troupe along with his sister, father and grandmother.
He meets Zelda during a festival where he was entering an archery contest in castletown. Zelda, who was disguised as Sheik, was also entering. She beat him at the contest(barely), but was extremely bothered by how good he was.
The festival goes on for about 3 days and at the end there is the sword ceremony where all the people coming of age(18) can attempt to pull the sword. She was presiding over it and witnessed him pull the sword and his whole life change. Not long after they meet officially and Link is appointed as her Knight; She introduces him to Ganondorf, her best friend from childhood.
And the chaos and comrade-ere ensues~
Over 3 years they travel, train, fall in love and wait for the day when the evil is supposed to show itself. With no sign of the great evil, they start to relax a bit. But that is when it strikes. Ganon travelling by himself at this time. Explores a cave in the Gerudo desert and encounters something ominous. Whispers in the dark speak to him and his fears and wants and his distaste for the King of Hyrule…. The voice is familiar, much too familiar, and before he can fight back it consumes him. When he awakes he is alone. He isn't instantly ‘evil’ but over time it twists his thoughts and actions. His closest friends and mother grow concerned. He becomes harsher and radical. Cruel. During a secret meeting with the King, Ganon assassinates him. Zelda happens upon Ganon covered in blood. She thinks he's hurt and is concerned by his behavior the past year. He snaps. He tells her every dark thing he has been thinking, and that he killed her father. In shock, and devastated, she can’t move as Ganon is about to strike her. But Link manages to get to her in time because the master sword was glowing, something he has never seen before but an instinct so old took over him. He races to escape with her. Ganon takes over the castle. But only as a steward because the King and the Princess are nowhere to be found. No one is the wiser to his malevolent plots. Yet. He knows she has to act fast since Zelda and Link escaped.
Zelda and Link make it all the way to Kakariko Village and Impa and they are all Informed that the Calamity is upon them. No one can believe it is their Ganondorf who is doing this but it is undeniable. They grieve, but they must act fast. With the help of the Sheikah they gather the guardians, monks and send word to the Races and Champions to prepare for battle. Zelda listens as Link hums an old Zonai Lullaby his mother used to sing to him. And it makes her remember something she read about. A story about there being an ancient Zonai device below the castle that would help defeat the Demon King.
Impa knows the tunnels She can help them sneak in. So they prepare to infiltrate the castle.
Under the castle they find the Zonai Artifacts that were left behind for sealing the great evil.
Ganon's followers saw them enter however and informed him. Knowing this is his chance he stops all pretenses and releases his power. Unleashing a mob of monsters and a cloud of malace into the castle and across Hyrule. But the Champions and Shekah are prepared to meet them.
Looking around for any clue. Trying to think of anything they read or that Link heard from his family that could be used to turn on the sealing jewelry. They don’t know how to activate it, but Ganon is going to be upon them soon as they had to fight through hordes of monsters beforehand.
Out of the dark behind them he emerges.
Zelda and Link manage to avoid the surprise attack. They both go on the defensive. They fight and try to reason with him. They can’t believe this is their friend, their lover. The fight is tough, because they all know each other's moves after training together for years along with the emotional turmoil. Zelda tells Link he needs to figure out how to activate the artifact if they are to succeed. She will hold him off. But by this point they are both exhausted.
Ganon manages to cut Link, spraying blood over the floor and the statue. Link falls to the floor and Ganon towers over him ready to strike him down, but Zelda blasts him away. Ganon turns his attention to her. Annoyed with her meddling and manages to land a blow on her also. Cutting the tip of her right ear off.

The statue lights up from the blood. The blood of a zonai. That  was another part of the Lullaby from Links family Zelda realizes. The Jewelry glows and expands before flying off the wrists of the statue to Link. He is surrounded by a green glowing light that blasts Ganon and Zelda back. The bands constrict around his arms and legs disintegrating the clothing underneath. He screams. Zelda watches on in horror as Link transforms before her. His skin is turning black and his bones and skin stretch until he is 6 ft tall. What did she get him into? This was supposed to help them what was happening… She is living in a nightmare. What else will she have to give up. She cries as she looks at him, feeling his pain and fear. His hair band she had given him falls from his hair. Rolling across the floor towards her. “..Zelda….” He says

She picks up the hair band and goes to him! But he is not really responding. He is restrained and struggling within himself. His head is filled with the spirits of the Zonai he knows what he must do…he knows this is the last time he will see Zelda and Ganon. To seal the Demon King he must sacrifice himself. He says the last part of the Lullaby to Zelda and she knows. This is it. She kisses him. Though a bit strange now that he's so tall and his lips are cold. Ganon is getting up across the cavern from them, laughing. He mocks them and their weak attempts at thwarting him. One last clash. Zelda manages to get his weapon from him and Link plunges his arm into Ganons chest activating the sealing power. Glowing green. They both freeze in place and all is quiet. Entombed under the castle. The malice and monsters disappear. Zelda cautiously goes up to them. She doesn't touch them lest she break the spell somehow. The only thing she does is grab the hair bangle that fell to the floor in the final fight. It was the one from Ganon’s hair. And she left for the surface.
Alone.
