#i HATE this song like crazy but the MV has nice parts
RPWP let's go! To be honest, I didn't know the album dropped today. I thought Lost was another pre-release and that the album would drop in June, but I think that's NJs new album?
Anyway, I watched the Lost MV after waking up and was kind of disappointed. Namjoon's always a mixed bag (except in collabs). I don't understand his way of writing and expressing himself, and find it quite indigestible and dense; his English rap is very slurred most of the time too. Yes, he's incredibly intelligent, can write amazing lyrics, and his Korean rap can be insane, but a lot of the times I can't enjoy his songs. I tend to like his features more (he has some amazing ones, like Change, Sexy Nukim and Don't).
Hours later, I'm back from work and have listened to his album:
Right People, Wrong Place: Nice intro, but immediately his English accent and the way he sings in English is off-putting. The track is also very alternative and indie, which are genres I don't vibe with.
Nuts: Very interesting song... The way he's rapping in the beginning is a bit... it doesn't work super well. I loved the outro though - that part was cool. Overall, it's a good song. People went fucking crazy over the "she's a pro-rider", and also "he's a pro-rider", but I'm not sure this is Namjoon being a "bisexual king"; it's like the relationship from the guy's pov, which is why he says "no woman could stop him" and not "no man [RM] could stop him". But it's still a possible interpretation. I just see too many Armys taking everything he said literally and filling in the blanks with assumptions, creating their own narrative which is quickly being spread as the truth. People are saying RM cut his hair, started working out and deleted his IG pics because of a breakup and that he then got into situationships. I mean, this would be a normal thing to do but those could all be isolated events. You don't know if he cut his hair over a breakup?... Like, Army wants BTS relationship drama so much they act like they know everything. I admit I'm not a normal 20 year old, so who knows? I also wasn't keeping up with his Weverse lives.
out of love: Well, this whole album is very Sundance coming of age movie about a "cool yet lost guy in his 20s who goes to bars, drinks, smokes with this friends while contemplating his existence" which couldn't be further from my vibe. I hate indie music because it's slow, lethargic, whimsical, loose, and I'm neurotic, high-strung, literal, and uptight. I can't vibe with indie; I can't relate to normal 20 years old who smoke weed at parties. That's really nothing special, but to me it's a whole different universe. I have no friends or a life. I can't relate to Namjoon at all... Anyway, him saying "bitches" is not cool. I see Army praising him for hitting back at those who criticize idols for smoking, but, no man - unless he's explicitly queer and saying it and a fun manner, maybe, can use the word "bitch" imo. I fucking hate that word. I also felt like Namjoon was trying to copy black rappers in this song, but I'm probably too white to comment. Can't say I enjoyed the track. I feel really basic, but I'm too straight-laced, boring white girl to appreciate this album, sorry.
Domodachi: Eh... I was expecting the woman to be an amazing rapper, since I saw Army hype her up, but she's... alright? Lyrically, she's pretty basic - in this track at least. Also, it's so weird listening to Brits rap lmao. There's no translation of this track yet, so I don't really know the lyrics.
? (Interlude): I like classical music (won't include XXI classical music in this statement, which I know nothing about and is a lot different from what we traditionally think of as classical music), but I don't like jazz that much in general... Both are considered "intelectual music", but jazz isn't for me... I like structure and a certain repetitiveness in music. Improvisation is just confusing to me and, like, I'm so type A, I just can't vibe with it.
Groin: Joon's cursing is a bit too much in this album. The way he curses is a bit... aggressive?, yet at the same time giving Jungkook in Seven vibes. I guess that's the point. We have "bitch" here again. It's pretty disappointing... I thought he'd learned better. I read the lyrics translation from an account on X and on Genius, and they were quite different... The first was very anti establishment, the second less so. "Not a fucking diplomat" is great though. But I hate the chorus... "Get your ass out the trunk?"...
Heaven: Didn't particularly stand out. This song also doesn't have a translation yet (or I couldn't find one. It's been hours though. If this was an ot7, maknae line, or Yoongi track, 100% sure there would be multiple translations already).
LOST!: The woman singing in the beginning sounds so familiar... The song has a fun rhythm, and of all the RPWP tracks (aside from Come Back to Me), it's the easiest listening song. It actually represents the album very well, unlike Come Back to Me which is a clear outlier (feel kind of deceived, really) and easily the most GP friendly track (hence it being the pre-release). The song is fun but the English lyrics are just bad. The album's full of poorly written English lyrics. I guess it's on purpose? Don't like it, don't get it.
Around the world in a day: Another count for "bitch". The song's okay, butthe lyrics are... Honestly, it feels like the whole album is just vibes. What is he even saying? Heartbreak, anger, etc., but in terms of message, it's very repetitive. It's all so vague too? Don't know what he means because I like things spelled out to me - maybe that's my bad.
Credit Roll: Well, no use commenting haha.
Come Back to Me is the only relatable and truly enjoyable track to me. Sorry, I don't know how to appreciate this album and can't stand a lot of the English. I feel like RPWP highlights everything I like least about RM as an artist... While, I didn't enjoy the album on my first listen, it's cool how experimental it is and that it sounds nothing like idol music. BTS are so diverse musically. If you play this album to anyone and tell them it's BTS, they'll be in absolute disbelief lmao.
Second listen through and review here!

do u ever think about the way olivia rodrigo invented music
just kidding i know the emotions she sings about have existed since the beginning of time but im just now realizing that if i was born in the taylor swift era i would 100% be a swiftie bc i was thinking abt olivia rodrigo’s music the other day and unironically had the thought “wow she literally invented having emotions” before i managed to catch myself. but honestly i think it’s crazy how accurately she captures all these feelings of insecurity and heartbreak (and now joy!) so perfectly!!
“lacy” and “pretty isn’t pretty” seem so similar on the surface, but i feel like lacy is more of a gradual realization that no matter what u do—or how ur actually perceived—you will never feel as feminine as u want to. there will always be people (aka Lacy) who are gonna be effortlessly elegant and beautiful and feminine and feeling jealous of that is so fuckin stupid but that doesn’t stop u from caring. and then i like “pretty isn’t pretty” bc i feel like that’s the aftermath of Lacy. idk the part abt her trying every shade of lipstick really hit bc when i was first experimenting w makeup i remember feeling so insecure that none of them seemed “my” color. also i really like the gradual buildup of “it’s in my phone/head/magazines/the boys i bring to bed” bc i feel like that describes the pipeline so well
anyway now let’s get into the new songs she released. i’m actually not sure if they’re new bc when i searched it up after it popped up on my spotify google said she released this back in 2023? so idk. but her youtube channel literally has this all released within the last few days. but my favorite thing about these songs is how im in the same era she’s in rn. that happened to me with “sour” and “guts” reopened a lot of those old wounds, so i absolutely love the healing theme (? i know that’s not the right word but it’s hard to think rn) this album has. let’s start off with obsessed since that popped up for me first
obsessed? yeah, obsessed with this fucking song. seriously. “if you knew how much i thought about her you’d think i was in love” already starting off on a banger. also i watched the mv and i loved it. this song literally couldn’t have came at a more perfect time, yall ever just randomly remember that ur s/o has dated ppl that aren’t u before? chilling realization, really
scared of my guitar? “i can’t lie to it the same way i like to you”? “i lay in your arms and pretend that it’s love”? “i’d rather be tied to someone even if they’re wrong”? oh my god. i was literally thinking about this the other day. like, being in a relationship bc u want to be or if it’s bc you’re scared of being by yourself. and i also like the fact that it’s insinuating that the other person is the better half. bc sometimes it does feel like literally just loving someone when you struggle so much with the thoughts i mentioned is just the same as stringing them along. but then also i think it’s nice to pretend you’re in love bc obviously at the beginning of a relationship you have no idea if it’s ever going to go that far, so i think we often fall in love with the idea of being loved. which sounds a bit corny when i put it like that, but scared of my guitar made *me* feel like a tortured poet bc i used to be like “im chill ! :o)” and then open up ao3 and write a billy taupe/lucy gray story like girl…. that’s not the same as olivia rodrigo being folksy and cute
speaking of being folksy and cute, “girl i’ve always been” is so folksy and cute! i literally hate country music so fucking much (i’m sorry… one time this guy in hs played God’s Country in front of the class for a presentation and he stood there kinda ominously so ever since then i’ve kinda hated it) but this song was nice i liked it! i like the confidence it exudes, someone already mentioned this in the comments but it really is giving off lucy gray vibes, especially “with venom on my tongue u ask me who i’ve become” like okayyy someone needs to write a billy taupe/ lucy gray inspired story abt that line immediately. i don’t really have much more to say since this one was the one i found the least personally relatable, but i love the sassiness of it all!!
stranger. this one was a FUCKING banger, this was the sort of era i was in when guts released so im so glad miss olivia rodrigo could put the feeling of realizing u don’t *need* someone u thought u literally couldn’t live without into words. “i always thought it was some comforting lie ppl told” literally. also the call back to “enough for you” by saying “if im not enough for you then you’re not enough for me either” :,). i think growing up is quite nice
so american. fav! <3 <3 <3. “he’s like a poem i wish i wrote” hands down my favorite lyric fucking ever. i LOVE this song. like i said with “lacy” and “pretty isn’t pretty” bleeding into each other, i think the same applies w this song and “scared of my guitar.” like after u get over ur fear of ur guitar u realize that ur so american and suddenly wanting to get married and be in love doesn’t seem so selfish anymore. i really, really love this song (if i haven’t already mentioned that)
sorry, i know this was a long post! stranger had me bursting into tears so i told Boyfriend i needed to write in my “notes app” abt it so everyone say hi Boyfriend. but seriously im feeling so american rn i literally was like “leave me alone and don’t touch me im feeling explosively emotional” and he was like ok! here’s some fruit. and then now im writing on my phone about songs i love. like is there any better feeling??

Reviewing Every UKISS Release: By Unpopular Demand ~ Only One
Ah yes, their 1st studio album, and the peak of UKISS. I remember this coming out because it was around the time of the Olympics, and I don't know why that's the way I remember it.
But yeah, they were soooo popular now, they had tons of variety shows - Pops in Seoul for the English line, Chef's Kiss was right after this, and I think UKISS Vampire was done around after that, or after Break Time, I can't remember.
Tumblr media
Only One - 1st Studio Album | 2010.02.03
I liked Bingeul Bingeul when it came out, and I still do prefer it to MMHN. Not entirely sure why, though it might be because I'll always associate with Chef's Kiss, and that makes me feel some real warm fuzzies. Also, was this when Soohyun's dating scandal happened? Or was it after this? Anyway, kudos for him to just going "thanks for making us the #1 trending topic XD"
This is something I meant to put in the Conti UKISS review but forgot, and it's that they seem so much taller in MMHN. Like I know Dongho and maybe Kevin and Eli were still growing, but all of them just seemed so much taller, for MMHN, and that's the importance of good styling.
So yeah, we're still in their woman-hating era, but it's a little dialed back now. I don't really have any good relevant tea about this era, which is a little weird. Was this when they had their first ever concert? I think it happened before Break Time, and if I remember correctly, it was because the Philippines LOVED Bingeul Bingeul and it went crazy viral there, so as a thank you they had a concert in Manila.
I don't think I ever watched the full concert, but I kinda feel like it would be the endearing disaster that any small-mid company's group would have when hosting a concert in somewhere not South Korea/Japan/even China. I think I remember the audio being really bad and I wasn't sure if it was just the video/recording problem or if it actually sounded like that on stage. Did they even have enough music to do a concert?
Oh right, and beware of this album on Spotify I don't know why it's so messed up, but there's 2 versions of it up, and like a couple songs show up on the Real School OST and none of this is consolidated. It is a hot mess, do I like tell Soohyun this on Bubble or on b.stage or what?
Intro | YouTube Music 2.6k | Spotify 1.3k
It's 20 seconds long what do I even say
The piano is nice until Kevin's autotuned voice kicks in
5/10 meh I like what I heard, but it's 20 seconds
Bingeul Bingeul (Audio) | YouTube Music 3.2M | Spotify 560k / 1.78M
I have 2 numbers for Spotify because the album version has 560k, but for some reason they the Real School OST there, and the numbers aren't consolidated and that one has 1.78M
Yeah I don't get it
"U U U UKISS AND BRAVE SOUND~" so iconic
I like that the whole premise of this song is "baby I love you please come back" like name a more dynamic duo than UKISS and being pathetic begging men
And the fact that this breakup is basically their fault, yet Kibum is still out here calling me bad? Uh excuse you you're the one who's in the wrong
Does that count as woman-hating? Perhaps
"You make me tingle tingle" absolutely horrific, thank you Eli
The "jjaeggakjjaeggak" part after Eli's rap is one of my favourites I don't know why, it's so catchy
This is mostly a Soohyun/Kevin duet featuring Kibum, Eli, Xander, and Dongho
Kiseop was there and he probably looked gorgeous
Not much to say about the singing since it's mostly been autotuned, but Kibum does sound much better here, and I like the contrast between him and Soohyun
The rappers rapped, that's for sure
Something about the way Dongho sings "you are the only one" is so cute
7.75/10, it's just a fun dance song, not much more I can add. Not earthshattering, but super catchy
Bingeul Bingeul (MV) | Fan upload 10M
Wait was this never uploaded officially?!?!
So I'm watching the alleged HD version and it's still giving 360p-480p, even though YouTube says it's 720p
Again, is this the same expensive camera for Shut Up!!?
Tumblr media
But oh my god we've entered the iconic 2nd Gen MV Box
I forgot that it's not just The Box, but a Spinning Box
Tumblr media
Get it??? They're making kissing gestures because U U U UKISS and~! It's so corny I love it
Tumblr media
This part of the choreo is always gets me it's so fun to look at
The rapid cuts between the members lol
Tumblr media
Again, some peak 2010 looks here
First, I gotta give my condolences to Dongho apparently it took like 7 bleach jobs to get his hair that light
I don't know if they did it in a single sitting, a couple, or spread out, but damn that's gotta hurt the scalp, even if he was young
He does look good with that pale blond though
Xander's hair is tragic they just gave him what they gave Kibum for MMHN, except it really doesn't suit Xander
Kiseop looks amazing as always
Kibum's hair is like a 3D sculpture I wanna know how much product is in it
I like Kevin's hair colour, that light brown always looks good on him, but I hate the bowl cut it's so not a good look
But yeah the studded jackets, necklaces, copious amounts of leather, so 2010 bad boy chic
Oh and we can't forget the skin-toned lipstick, guyliner for days, and emerging smoky eyes
Tumblr media
I forgot the chorus dance is supposed to be done in a circle that's really cool, but I do just love a good circle moment in a dance
Tumblr media
Now THAT is a look
Is it good? Is it bad? I don't really know but I love the eyeshadow
The hair isn't super flattering though
Tumblr media
I have conflicting feelings about these white outfits
I love the overall look and feel of them, but I think a lot of them aren't flattering when they dance
Kevin and Kibum both have the longer jacket and it makes the dancing feel really clunky and difficult
They also have a padded shoulder look, which I actually do like most of the time, but here it makes them look like they have bad posture and permanently hunched shoulders
It's kinda giving cartoon proportions
So yeah, not much happens in this MV it's literally them dancing in The Box in the studded jackets, some solo shots in The Spinning Box, some other solo shots with the art projects drawn on them, and dancing shots in the white outfits
Yeah there's only 2 outfits in this MV, 3 if you count the art project looks
Yes NH give us no budget
Okay, let's be fair, they blew the entire budget on Kibum's hair products, Dongho's bleaching sessions, Eli's eye makeup, the white outfits, and the ink art shots
4.75/10 it was boring, and saved mostly by Eli's cool eye look, and the fact I don't despise every outfit here. At least they're not in a warehouse for this MV, or you know what, they probably are, but they're contained in The Spinning Box, so that's a little interesting
Bingeul Bingeul (Stages) | Highest viewed 1M (Music Core)
Because I cherish my eyes, I'm watching the 1M MuCore one because that one is in HD
I'm sorry but the opening kinda looks like Soohyun's shaking his butt for us
Oh and they're also using headsets for this, I think this is their first comeback using them
Tumblr media
Bless the camera guy for giving us a wide shot of this it's my favourite part of the choreo
I love the use of use of differing heights it makes such an interesting image
Wait, are...are those capris? Are they all wearing capris other than Kibum??? Oh my god
Tumblr media
Soohyun kinda looks like an exotic bird with that hair
There's a lot happening with that top - the leather vest, the different coloured sleeves
Tumblr media
This is actually a pretty good look for Kibum, and he looks weirdly happy here
I think he winked before this too how cute
Tumblr media
Camera guy why are you not focusing on Eli like yeah I love Soohyun too but sheesh how could you ignore Eli during this iconique line??
I love that you can hear them slapping their arms during the "nae ego" part of the rap
CAMERA GUY WHY WOULD YOU CUT AWAY FROM SOOHYUN'S BODY ROLL HE'S REALLY GOOD AT THOSE
Tumblr media
I really don't like this outfit on Kevin it's not flattering at all on him
And I hate his hair
Also not loving Eli's top, but I appreciate the random clump of fabric
Ki brothers really do be the best dressed here
Tumblr media
He had no lines in the song so they gave him the final pose lol
So I've always thought the Bingeul Bingeul dance was silly, especially the chorus part, but after seeing the MV I see the vision now
It looks really cool when they're in a circular formation, but stupid when they're in lines, but circles aren't the best for stages like this
The dance isn't particular difficult, I think the opening is probably the hardest due to the synchronization
The funny chorus bit was probably more difficult for the MV than here
I will say this kind of choreo falls flat without enough commitment, so while funny to watch, they definitely committed
Not much to say other than that. They clearly work well as group, they're all at a minimum competent dancers, and the only real standout here is Dongho
Like MMHN, this choreo is basically made for him, plus he has that kind of je ne sais quoi and pulls your eye
It was sung live, it was a Soohyun/Kevin live duet, the rappers rapped, and I suspect a loud backtrack for Kibum and Dongho
7.5/10 the stage design is kinda boring, and I don't like a lot of their looks, but it's a fine stage overall
A quick Bingeul Bingeul lookbook because I can still upload more images
Tumblr media
I forgot it was a super shiny material
The fabric moves better than I thought, but I don't know I still don't love the look of it
The pants look especially bad in movement, like they're way too baggy because of how the fabric hangs and reflects light
And yeah, I still stand by Kibum and Kevin having the worst jackets
Also I think this was the first stage they did for this?
Mics were really good, and Eli ended this stage? Do they take turns for the final pose?
Tumblr media
Why are half of them dressed for the same event and look like they lost the dress memo?
The random thing hanging off of Xander's jacket lol
I like Kibum's vest love the epaulettes
Why is Kiseop just wearing a button-up with epaulettes?
I don't even hate these looks individually, and I even see the running motif in them, but they don't feel unified
Kevin, Dongho, and Soohyun should have larger shoulder ornaments
Xander needs an epaulette or something
And Kiseop should be wearing a vest like Kibum or a jacket like the others
Kiseop finishes this one huh
Tumblr media
I hate these looks I like the monochrome idea, but what's with the beige/khaki?
And why are some members in all black but the others are mixed?
Not Soohyun wearing a black pleather crew neck with a black pleather jacket
The mics were really good here and they were all live, I think Dongho's voice cracked a little
Tumblr media
Uh those are some looks
I hate those pants so much just let them wear long pants
Before there were those hidden socks and exposed ankles, there were the exposed calves and shins
The copious amounts of pleather is incredible
Without You | YouTube Music 924k | Spotify 388k
Oh my gosh I love this song it's one of my favourites
It's sounds so cute, so sweet, and it's so catchy like I'll honestly start humming this at work without even realizing it
The "baby I love you please come back" song like it's that good
Once again, cementing the fact they're at their best when begging
"Boo" #2
It's honestly amazing how dissonant the lyrics are to the music, like the song itself is fast-paced and cheery
Then the lyrics are basically them begging their girl to come back and crying themselves to sleep
And the fact that this is one of their encore songs, truly incredible
This is basically just a Soohyun/Kevin duet featuring Eli and Xander
They're both killing it though - Soohyun has that bitter voice that works great with the lyrics, while Kevin has that sweet voice that falsely advertises that this is an upbeat song
Their vocal synergy is unmatched
9/10 an all-time favourite of mine so yeah, I'm biased
Mworago (Audio) | YouTube Music 449k | Spotify 26k
Remember how there was supposed to be a 3D animated music video for this? Yeah me neither
The fact that there's a 15 second teaser of it on YouTube literally haunts me
The concept for it is probably rotting in NH's basement or something
So this is what I imagine to be the sequel of OK!
There's a line about the girl making them seem like a beggar, and what did they say in OK? That they weren't going to be a beggar
Thus based off of their pattern of "baby I love you even though you cheated on me", this could either be OK's prequel or sequel
Personally, I like this as the sequel because it makes it 10x funnier
The whole song is basically "you treat me like shit but baby I love you please come back", which is a new variant for this genre
Allegedly, Kiseop does the intro bit, but I'm not buying it. A couple of sites I've checked out attribute it to him, but I don't hear him?
So this is a Kevin-centric song featuring Soohyun and the rap line, with none for Kibum and Kiseop
I think his voice is very well-suited for it - he sounds just like a kicked puppy most of the time, but musters up the right aggression
Soohyun, sounding bitter as always
But they're both hampered by the autotune, that damned Brave autotune
I thought it was interesting they attached Eli's rap to the first verse to lead in to the chorus
Actually, Xander and Dongho both rap before the next chorus, interesting placements
It doesn't sound bad at all, I kinda like it
No funny one liners, unfortunately
8.25/10 more points than Bingeul Bingeul it's more creative and I love a good UKISS being pathetic beggars song
Mworago (Stages) | Highest viewed 89k (Fan upload) | 26k (Inkigayo)
I feel like I have no recollection of ever watching these stages before recently
Tumblr media
Oh my gosh I actually love most of these outfits? The black/red is so nice
I love Kevin's little plaid jacket like it's so cute I want it
And not his statement necklace
Dongho has a kind of taupe trash bag shirt, love that for him
The vests are kinda taking me out
And Kibum's single arm warmer thing
Oh I love Kiseop's jacket too, especially the plaid lapels
They all have much better hair here; Dongho back to his bowl cut, Xander's looks more natural and comfortable, Soohyun has typical idol hair, Eli for some reason is blond again, Kibum rocking the same 'do from Bingeul Bingeul, Kiseop's is...very Kiseop, and Kevin's fluffy light hair
The makeup is very light too, love that though I hate the lipstick still
Tumblr media
That pose kills me
His lips were moving during this so I guess this is Kiseop's part?
Tumblr media
Head choreography was really in with them, huh?
It's kinda cute, makes sense since Soohyun's just shouting "what" the entire time
Tumblr media
It's not even that similar but this screams Stalker
Tumblr media
Why does he enter like that?
Same vibes as when you're not sure if you're entering the right room or if you're interrupting someone
Tumblr media
This is so dramatic, and for what? I love it
It's not a super iconic dance but I like it anyway. It looks pretty aerobics-intensive
There's some weirdly soft moments in the choreo for this kind of dance song though. I don't hate it, but it feels a little out of place since so much of it is sharp and angular
It also makes a lot more use of height, lots of crouching and bending
Soohyun and Kevin are definitely singing live, their expressions say it all, and it becomes obvious when you hear Soohyun fighting with backtrack!Kevin, and when Kevin lets the backtrack take over to catch his breath
It's a bit harder to tell with the rappers since they also have that autotuned voice thing
7.25/10 I would watch it again, not super memorable, but some interesting choreo
I still have 5 images left before I hit the limit Mworago lookbook time
Tumblr media
I like these more relaxed looks, very 2010
Wait is Eli wearing sweats?
Actually all the other videos are too crunchy never mind
Bang Bang Bang | YouTube Music 292k | Spotify 27k
UKISS party song hell yeah with a dash of um...I'm not entirely sure
I've read a couple translations of this and I'm still trying to piece it together
I think it's a "baby I love you please come back" and "angry we broke up so now I'm partying the pain away but it still hurts" mix?
It also feels like an allusion to sex? Like other than the bang bang bang part
Not counting it as a UKISS Sex Song but it's close, it just needs to be more explicit
I do appreciate the storytelling in the lyrics, starting off with "feel like shit gotta go have fun", the sex allusion, "baby I love you", "I'll never love again leave me alone >:(", "baby I miss youuuu", and ending with party lyrics again
It's basically another Soohyun/Kevin duet featuring everyone but Dongho
Interesting parallel with the Kibum/Soohyun and Kiseop/Kevin verses
Once again, I'm asking for more VinSeop verses their voices work well together
How do Soohyun, Kevin, and Xander all sound so nasally here? I thought it might've been the autotune or something but Kibum, Kiseop, and Eli sound relatively okay
Like I'm genuinely impressed I want them to try to recreate this some day
"Singing that!" I thought for the longest time Xander was saying "Sing it dad!"
Also Eli back to calling us bad girl huh
7.5/10 it's a fun song, super catchy, but the autotune is...a lot, and I mean there's not much else to it
Dancing Floor | YouTube Music 216k | Spotify 15.8k
Nasal kings here we go
Bang Bang Bang was just warm up here they're so nasally it's incredible
Like I think it was in that 2020 IG Live with Soohyun and Kevin where they're talking about old songs, someone brings up Dancing Floor, and they literally cannot replicate it
It gets mentioned again in their 2021 vocal line mini reunion and somehow Hoon nails it???
But yeah the lyrics are literally "I'm so depressed that my girl left me so now I'm gonna tear up the dance floor and become the disco king"
Gotta respect the mindset
Horrific how catchy this song is, but understandable since this is the same guy who did Mazeltov
It does feel like a proper Soohyun/Kevin main/lead vocalists + Kibum the subvocalists and accompanying rappers who get like 3 lines each as the bridge
Poor Kiseop with nothing
"Sing it daddy!" the only thing more surprising than hearing this incredible one liner, is the fact that Xander is the one who yells it and not Eli
6.5/10 just because of how horrific their nasally voices are in this my god. It is super catchy though
ManManHaNi (New ver.) | YouTube Music 12M | Spotify 451k
Not much to say, it's a MMHN all right
There's just added some more music and a slightly slower feel to the song, which is basically a negative for me
I think I prefer the original version because it's 8 seconds shorter, and I think it carries the momentum of the song better
Not loving the weird tempo change before the chorus like come on stop torturing me like this
But I do prefer the more stripped percussion for Eli's rap
Also not someone in the comment section saying the original MMHN is the same age them baby what you're a literal fetus
6.5/10 inferior MMHN variation, and I had to not only relisten to the original version for comparison, but I had to listen to this twice
OK! (Remix) | YouTube Music 14k | Spotify 5.2k
I know it's a remix and all that, but I wish it was an acoustic or stripped version
Like that was my biggest complaint with the original with how the autotune detracted from Kevin's voice
And now we just have a lot more noise layered on
6.25/10 not horrible, but there's nothing about this remix that improves on the original, except I guess add more dance beats
I Like You (Remix) | YouTube Music 8.1k | Spotify 2.2k
I like that this is basically a remix of the instrumental with the chorus repeating
Like the song was so unsalvageable they just had to remix the instrumental
This is basically something you'd do like an aerobics class to or whatever
6.25/10 I liked it more than the original
Talk To Me (Remix) | YouTube Music 44k | Spotify 5.9k
Okay this kinda slaps
The remix actually tones down the Soohyun vs Kevin shouting match so it just sounds like normal singing now, which makes this pretty nice to listen to (though not as funny)
The recurring keyboard/piano bit even adds a bit of class
7.25/10 I actually really like this and I'm gonna put it on a playlist now
Not Young (Remix) | YouTube Music 15k | Spotify 4.7k
The lively beat helps a bit
But now there's this weird...dissonance? Like this remix is still pretty soft, but it feels too hard for a song like Not Young
6.5/10 I'm very confused, not in a bad way, just...not sure of what to make of it. I don't hate it, but I also don't like it much more than the original, plus the weird clash between the lyrics and beat that just doesn't work
Give It To Me (Remix) | YouTube Music 10k | Spotify 2.3k
Since the song already had a strong beat, the remix works really well
The dance break sounds much better
I'm a bit confused by the choice to sort of 'hollow' their voices? I don't think that was necessary
The tempo feels a bit faster, and I think it fits a lot better with the whole "don't stop the beat move your feet" bit
7.25/10 another new song going to a playlist
Not really fun facts, but some funny tidbits I remember regarding this time - there's an interview of them from either the time they were filming the Bingeul Bingeul MV or just after, and it's so cute. One of the questions was who made the biggest first impression, and I remember Eli said Dongho because he thought he looked like a tacky country bumpkin. Kevin backhandedly compliments Soohyun by saying he took one look at him and knew he was probably the best singer there (cue Soohyun shouting "what, am I ugly?").
They also get asked who watches porn, and everyone kinda nervously looks around, except for Soohyun who proudly raises his arm, and slaps Kibum to raise his too. If you remember my last post, Kiseop had already admitted to watching it on Soohyun's laptop with Kevin, so those two are lying liars.
This tidbit is actually from 2023, but Soohyun was talking about his early days under NH, and how the lower management really liked him because he could sing well and worked hard (to the point they'd tell him to stop practicing and go back to the dorm because they couldn't sleep), but upper management hated him because he wasn't a flower boy. Apparently the higher-ups never called him by his name early on, just always "hey you", and never complimented him, and the first time they called him by his name was around Bingeul Bingeul and it made him cry. NH, I'll see you in hell.
We have one more release before this OT7 era is over, and while I do look upon this time very fondly, I'm excited for the 2011-2013 years, their back-to-back bangers, and the HD JP MVs I have in my possession.

okay what’s your analysis of this album. also the mv that debacuhery kind of aesthetic god *chef’s kiss*
I was so excited last night when the album and the MV came out. I had so much adrenaline in my body lmao. Then this morning I woke up, had to go out so I played the album on spotify while I was out, walking. Later, I came home and the interlude was playing again and I started ugly crying at that bit of Jimin introducing himself at the concert.
Tumblr media
Well, it's obviously a sad album. There's so much frustration and loneliness and disappointment at oneself in almost every verse of every song. Musically, as far as sound and music genres go, I love all of it. I think it sounds expensive, polished, high quality. He sounds better than ever and his voice is so dynamic, changing with every line, every song. It should be talked more often the way he's able to mold his voice to every music genre. I really don't have much to say about the sound overall because I honestly love every bit of it. I've been enjoying listening to all of the songs, they're just good good songs. It should even be a longer album, imo. But also the songs that are there are kind of enough to send the intended message across.
Face-off starting with that clown music is just genius. To me this song feels like a critic to himself and talks about self-sabotage. I don't really think it's about anyone in particular, but just an abstract song about realizing that you've made a fool of yourself for whatever reason. I know it's a 180 from that but it actually made me think of how in Promise he talks to himself /about himself in the third person. It starts strong, talking about drinking, which is the persistent theme throughout the whole album.
Tumblr media
Alone is a very consistent track with the overall concept of the album and the explanations Jimin himself gave for it. You could probably sum up the whole album in just two songs: Alone and Set Me Free pt2. If we go by credits order, alone it's the song Jimin had the most participation in writing and it does have the most raw, realest lyrics. In the first verse he does that thing of talking about himself in the third person "you tried to escape but you've lost your way". The line "always acting like I'm okay, I feel pathetic" really gets me. It's not really a song that needs any analysis, since it's all laid out pretty clearly. Face-off, for me when I read the lyrics, it feels like choices were made to fit the lyrics to a certain beat/rythm/concept/vibe, and not like the lyrics are the spotlight or the focus of the song. On the other hand, alone does come across as a song where the lyrics are the most important part of it. When I wrote about set me free in a different post, I talked about how my personal interpretation had to do with being stuck, with repetition and something you can't get out of; then the filming episode was posted and Jimin actually said that it was about that, the feeling of being in a hamster wheel. Alone touches upon that again. The same day, the same miserable feelings repeating over and over. Lyrically, alone is my favorite.
Letter is so beautiful. So soooo pretty and I wish it would've been in the album because it feels like a nice wrap to it. Like after all the chaos and self-hate, there's that song that's forgiving, warm and hopeful. I don't really think it's a romantic song; going by the references it really sounds like it's for army and it aligns also with the way he's talked in 2021 about how their "relationship" with army has changed from the beginning until now. I do think having Jungkook on the song was unnecessary because his background vocals aren't even that outstanding (in this song). But that's JK, he's been singing songs for army since forever so that's probably a reason why Jimin might've wanted to include him. I think Jimin said he will talk about this song when he goes live on the 29th.
Tumblr media
I left like crazy for the end because this one is all over the place for me. The lyrics, the references, the MV, the choreo (that I haven't seen but we've all read the things people at the recording said), the explanations Jimin has given. There's like a million interpretations and then also none at all. You could take so many meanings from it depending if you're analyzing the MV, the lyrics, the things Jimin has said, later tonight when we watch the choreo that too will probably make it even more complicated than it already is LMAO.
Firstly, I think one of the reasons there could be so many angles to it and for the lyrics to be kind of... strange? It's because there's so many writers in the song. There are seven credited writers in this song, both the Korean and English version, and Jimin is second to last in contribution. Meaning that 5 other people probably had more input in the lyrics. I don't think that lyrically the song makes a lot of sense with all of the stuff that's been said about it. Is it about the movie, is it about Jimin's personal experiences, is it romantic, is it about sex, is it about a break up???
I was confused by the "she", at first. I was waiting for the Korean lyrics to come out because I wanted to see if Jimin had written it with pronouns. I geniunely didn't think it was something like him, to write a pronoun at all. And he actually didn't. If we go by this, he just wrote "baby".
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure the "she" was added by the other writers, to fit the beat better or to give it more sense to the whole concept. It's just a really random "she" at the beginning of the song.
Things Jimin has said about the song and what it means:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This song to me feels sadder with every listen lmao. My first time watching the MV, without subtitles or lyrics, what I got from it was that he was lost and lonely between the crowds. Again, the feeling like in set me free, of being there but not really being part of anything. There's couples kissing, and groups of friends in the MV, and some moments he's with them but for most of it he's just alone. Even the part where he's standing over the couple kissing, it doesn't feel like that's meant to represent him and a girl either, to me it's all about being alone while everyone else has someone.
I didn't get the feeling that there was a love interest, and I actually find the girl that's "wandering" kind of unnecessary because it leads nowhere...? I feel like they could've gone all the way and show them as a couple/exes if it was the intention, because it's safe. But that didn't happen. I don't know if the choreography will be more "romantic", but from what people have been saying it sounds like it could be more about just mindless touching, meaningless human interactions that are just a distraction for something else. That, I understand; I do get that from the MV and it makes sense with the explanation that Jimin gave about it being a song in which you're just trying to escape from feelings you don't want to -well, face. In the English version there's a line that says "numbing the pain", which is quite literal.
If I think about the movie, the characters are both alone in different parts of the world and they both date other people while still missing each other and never really letting go of what they had. They didn't get any closure. I could see that in the half-assed metaphor with the girl and how she and Jimin are "searching" for each other but never really getting together. In the movie, they're constantly trying to make it work but it just doesn't work. The characters are stuck in the past (again, a recurring theme in the album), and they keep trying to be together but it gets to the point where it's like "are we trying to make this work because we still love each other or because we're clinging to what we used to be?". It's in those particular feelings that the movie evokes where Jimin explanation makes sense, that it's about losing yourself because you want to stay in that fairytale with a loved one. Even if that daydream-like experience has already passed and now it's just painful and draining and a neverending circle of self-loathing because they can't be that same couple again.
Before the song/MV were out, a friend and I talked about how it would be about separation, and I thought that it could be about BTS, even. Then, Jimin actually said this:
Tumblr media
And this:
Tumblr media
I think it's another valid angle from which you could interpret this song, too. It would even make sense with the timing, because he said he was feeling like that during their Vegas concerts, and that was the last moments BTS were together as a group. Though I wouldn't necessarily take his words so literally. He said it began at those concerts, so it probably went on for a while after that. The songs are in order for a reason, and like crazy is one of the last songs of the album.
All in all, to me it really is unclear if this song was written based on his personal experience, a real romantic break up he actually went through, or if he was going through something else (disbandment) that he related to the story in the movie.
As for a general commentary about the album, I think he did a fantastic job at blurring the line and making songs where the subject is ambiguous. The songs can be read as being about other people, failed relationships, or they could even be read as self-criticism.

RANK BANGTAN'S 34 TITLE TRACKS!
@joon-rkive tagged me in the hardest challenge i've ever had DFKJDJSF no but i enjoy it a lot, thanks baby!!
DISCLAIMER: I strongly believe BTS has one of the few non-skippable discographies and I really love every single song they've released and this list order can change almost every single day. Also they outdid the entire kpop industry i don’t even care
1. FILM OUT
Literal chills every single time I listen to it. The chorus always has me on tears, it's that little thing they do with [Kimi dake wo hiroi atsumete tsunagete] that kills me every.single.time. I'm sure it's gonna be in my top 10 in my spotify wrapped cuz at some point of the year I got obsessed.
2. SPRING DAY - 봄날
I’m sure this one is pretty self-explanatory, considering it might be BTS' best song in their entire discography. For some reason it stayed in the charts for so long.
3. BLACK SWAN
I put BS so high mostly because this fandom completely forgot about it (don’t worry I blame the pandemic mostly). Every single aspect of this song is literal art, from the lyrics to the beauty of the music video.
4. BUTTER
I’m an english-BTS-songs stan forever and ever, no english song can make me hate their discography and it includes these songs. Butter is the queen of their english era idec anymore, it hypes the shit out of me whenever I listen to it and whoever hates it can suck my di-
5. BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS
The reasons for this one? Idek, it scratches my brain in the best way ever.
6. AIRPLANE PT. 2
I like how it builds and the choreo. It also reminds me to my favorite BTS era ever.
7. FIRE
Hypes the shit out of me for good. I can’t stop watching the MV.
8. DANGER
I’m putting it high mostly because I denied this song for years (i’m stupid, don’t ask why) and when I finally made up my mind I hated myself for never listening to it. Good one for real and it hits so well
9. IDOL
BRING ME BACK TO THIS ERA GODDAMIT. That's all I can say really. No, kidding. The teaser already was perfect then the whole traditional instruments and the craziness of the beats just makes me wanna jump off a balcony (i’m in my charly garcia era)
10. HEARTBEAT
I’m not sure where to put this one but there's that one part, the bridge, makes this song rise automatically.
11. ON
Another hype one, it's lower than heartbeat because the bridge doesn't hit as much but overall I love listening to it.
12. MIC DROP
Can easily be put lower if you ask me. It's here because it was the first song I heard of them and the memories gives it that plus.
13. JUST ONE DAY
I learnt korean with this one SKDFLS no but seriously, yoongi's verse and the "yoongi-ah" gets me every single time. Could listen to it forever and ever honestly.
I think it was one of the first songs I listened after getting into them and that also gives it like a plus extra of reasons to be this high. Either way, it goes on so well and also the lyric and beat play with I'm Fine makes the original even better.
14. DYNAMITE
I don’t get how y'all can hate this one. I hate the remixes but the song builds so sweetly and their voices sound pretty cool with it. I like the retro style and the dance breaks for the choreos were so interesting and different. That's why I like it, it was different to other styles and their english voices are nice to hear every once in a while.
15. LIFE GOES ON
My mom calls this one the pandemic song and I laugh every single time. I think the comfort this song gives me makes it sound so good. It's always about the feelings their songs give me what makes me like them more or less. That happens with LGO
16. YET TO COME
MAKES ME CRY SM I really got freaked out thinking they were saying goodbye. Took me a bit to fully get into it and the hyundai version helped a lot.
17. SAVE ME
I think it was one of the first songs I listened after getting into them and that also gives it like a plus extra of reasons to be this high. Either way, it goes on so well and also the lyric and beat play with I'm Fine makes the original even better.
18. DOPE
AYO LADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEN this is their queen of hype songs.
19. NO MORE DREAM
I only hate that weird sound at the beginning of the song and this kind of hip hop is not really my thing. It's higher than WABPT2 because aw they debuted lksdfsdkf
20. WE ARE BULLETPROOF PT. 2
It makes me laugh a lot for some reason, I just picture them trying hard to be bad boys in the recording studio and I laugh a bit. Anyways rapper jungkook is a FAVE.
21. FAKE LOVE
My first comeback omg. I remember the problem called "they all dyed their hair the same fucking color". Anyways, I prefer the rock version for some reason and I feel the song would have been better if it was that one the OG version. Also the "fakey" love part kind of still bugs me but overall I love this song.
22. I NEED U
I know how much it means to them but I can listen to it every once in a while. Not my favorite but easily one of their best songs. It builds very strongly.
23. RUN
Like DNA (yeah I have many situations like this), I love the song but I enjoy it mostly while watching the MV or a live performance.
24. NOT TODAY
HYPEEE. But again, like DNA, the choreo kind of outdoes the song for me. I like to watch the mv and listen to the song that way than only listening to the song.
25. EPILOGUE: YOUNG FOREVER
Only dropped it so low because I cry whenever I listen to it. Other than that, it could easily be higher. I just stopped listening to it cuz I genuinely can’t stop crying, I never get to finish the song
26. PERMISSION TO DANCE
Not their strongest english song KJFKDSJ if it wasn't sounding so high school musical-ish I would put it higher. I do adore the sign language dance move and how happy they look while performing it. Also, catchy as fuck anyways.
27. DNA
Probably goes low because I might have overplayed it a bit. With this one I priorize the music video and choreo over the song itself. They kind of outdo it.
28. STAY GOLD
Took me a bit to get into it because the chorus bothered me a bit, when all the voices kind of overslap each other while singing different lines (never my favorite type of resource during a song, happens to with Kiss of Fire by Hugh Laurie tho I love that song) but it's still good.
29. BOY IN LUV
I was never a huge fan of this one but I did have my obsession phase when I got into them. I like these songs were Taehyung would rasp his voice a bit tho I'm glad he's using it more like he did with Singularity.
30. BOY WITH LUV
I love Halsey but I felt she ruined the song even though she barely participates anyways. However, I only really enjoy Suga's verse. The song isn't bad but I got tired of it (enough to rank it this low, it still outdid the entire kpop industry idc)
31. N.O.
It was never a song I played too much for some reason. I do enjoy the chorus and oh shit the lyrics, I love their rebellious era.
32. WAR OF HORMONES
I had a phase where I listened to it religiously but after that I sort of stopped LKDLKS. It's still very catchy.
33. LIGHTS
Never really listened to it much, maybe only a couple of times.
34. FOR YOU.
Never really listened to it much, maybe only a couple of times. Before Lights and For You I prefer their B-sides.
i don’t know many armys i think i’m gonna tag @peachy-101 @christina-dh @jieunssi @senor-hoberto @jungkooks-princess @latenightjjk @sinatserendipity

Based on your user and your post saying you were trying to stay up for Jimin on Jimmy, I'm going to assume you're an ARMY . . .???
Thoughts on Jimin's new album? 👀 I'm dying to talk music with someone 😂💜
Cheers! I hope all is well.
@twogyuu hey friend!!!
yeah i'm an army lol (the chill kind so don't come for me yall 💜😂) little backstory i found out about them back in 2018. i was just about to graduate high school at the time and was freaking out about the future, as one does, when i stumbled across their fake love mv. my curiosity was peeked and it was over from there. their songs and lyrics got me through literally some of the hardest times of my life, and whalien 52 will always symbolically be my favorite track from them because, besides being nice to listen to, it really spoke to me at the time and i would play it a lot whenever i would be hard on myself or feel upset over my circumstances. that song (and others like so far away by suga) was like a comfort - like an acknowledgement of my feelings and a reminder that i wasn't alone, that i wasn't the only person who has felt lonely or struggled in some way. and bts was my gateway into kpop so they'll always hold a special place in my heart (although now i have to suffer from being attacked everyday by a different kpop group and its members so idk thanks i guess??? lololol) ok sob story about my username is over lol.
this post is getting long so album thoughts are under the cut.
thoughts on jimin's new album - idk if i'm gonna get flamed for this but it wasn't really my vibe (no pun intended) if i'm being honest and i say that lovingly/respectfully. he is my bts bias and the first bias i ever had so believe me i am being honestttt lol. his dancing is what he's known for obvs so it didn't surprise me when the first release was set me free prt 2 which had more of an anthemic, powerful vibe to it. that was definitely fun to watch but it was that kind of kpop release where i get this feeling of like, this is a great performance to watch, but not a song i'd necessarily wanna hear again. and then i listened to the rest of the album and the other songs didn't do it for me personally either *with love*. Like Crazy was definitely my favorite, with the soft 80s vibes <3, but I'm not sure I'm gonna be playing it all that often. There wasn't a stand out point for me in it where I was like 'ah i wanna hear that part again' ya know??? For ref i really liked the song he did with taeyang (Vibe) and I still love the heck out of Serendipity from the Love Yourself days so I know jimin is capable of greatness...this just wasn't it for me personally. i keep emphasizing that b/c i'm not tryna receive any army hate 🤣. of all the member's releases so far, my favs were rm's indigo album (such a vibe ugggh + his features were fantastic), jin's the astronaut (was meh the first time i listened and then i heard it again in the middle of the night and it broke me???) and jhope's song on the street with jcole (not much of a rap girlie but i loveeeee jcole's music in particular for his incredible lyricism - he's a goat and one of the few i listen to - so i screamed when i saw the collab and the song was so freaking good 😭). I am incredibly excited for V's release whenever that comes because I'm convinced it's gonna be full of kdrama tracks that will make me cry (have you heard sweet night??? christmas tree??? winter bear??? bruh) and then Jungkook is such a stunning vocalist that i know I'll enjoy whatever he releases (euphoria is set as my phone alarm and ringtone and it still makes me cry to this day 🥹).
i loveeeee music so much (she says as if she didn't make that obvs by writing a whole 35k fic based off one dang song) - i am that person with a specific playlist for every possible feeling/vibe imaginable, i do indeed listen to/find gems from the songs writers list as inspo for their fics, and i am constantly on the hunt for new music so please reach out to me anytime about songs/releases, non-kpop included of course!!! this post was long af but hope you enjoyed <3

I need your opinion on Closer than this and Shot glass full of tears… and my poor 3D
Thanks for asking! I would love to share my opinion!
I reviewed CTT here and here (and have nothing else to add).
As for Shot Glass of Tears, I'm pretty meh about it. It's catchy and the chorus is nice, but the lyrics are pure nonsense and really ruin my enjoyment of the song, and while Jungkook sings well and on theme, that's just it, because it adds to the ridiculousness of the lyrics. I think the lyrics are super melodramatic and cringe, though "got a shot glass full of tears/Drink drink drink say cheers" is a mood, ngl. I've said it numerous times, but David Steward is just not a great lyricist, especially of "sad" songs, such as this one and Too Sad to Dance (the title alone is...). So, like, 7/10? I used to like it more.
3D is... okay, the way Jungkook sings is brilliant, with just the right amount of whiny (nasal) and pathetic, yet sassy and playful. There has yet to be anyone who covered this song properly. JK's ability to perfectly convey meaning, fullness, and the right vibe with his vocals is unmatched and underappreciated. 3D is lowkey a masterpiece for it. I also don't mind the lyrics during JK's parts. I love "Baby oh baby you're making me crazy/Rain rain rain, you can't fake it" and the way JK says that! It's whiny and fuck boy-ish in the best way. The chorus is honestly iconic and at least 50% is JK's delivery. "Cause you know I like it giiiirrrrl, 3D" is memorable and so uniquely JK. Also, the dance is super iconic and memorable and largely contributed to the success of the song. I love JK's high note in the alternate version too! But that's just it... I only love the alternate version. I don't mind Jack Harlow's parts in the live performances, since they're mostly in the background but otherwise they drive me nuts. 3D featuring Harlow when it should be JK's solo is my villain origin story... I can't stomach Harlow's sexist and racist lyrics and his scenes in the MV are super misogynistic. Ugh. Apart from that, I love the alternate version and think 3D gets too much hate (except for the Harlow slander, which is very much deserved) and JK's vocals in the song are very underrated too, just because they sound easy (Alexa, play Easy by Le Sserafim). But 3D is repetitive and gets a bit annoying if you hear it too many times... Still, I'll give the alternate version a 8.5/10.
Thanks for the "ask"! Please let me know your opinions too!
Edit! Adding Closer to You (The CTT abbreviation is only ever used for Jimin, so I didn't know you meant Jungkook, sorry! It makes more sense though haha.) This is my second favorite bside after Golden, only behind Somebody, but it was number 1 for a couple of weeks, after the Golden live stage! This song is smooth and shows a different side to JK's vocals. I really like the pre-chorus - it's so fast and JK is so good at playing around with rhythm. The choreo is cool too, but my favorite part isn't really the footwork, but rather the elegant, enticing hand movements that are so pretty and seductive and fit the song so well. I don't really believe this song is anything special, and it kind of lacks soul and variety tbh, but JK's vocals make it pleasing and the outro at the end is nice. I don't know, 7.9/8? Is that harsh? I guess I like JK's voice more than the song itself? Golden only is what it is because of Jungkook, really.

a simple call of the wild review that is totally professional and not way too detailed by me (February)
It's gonna be a bit of comparing to previous powerwolf albums/songs and remember everything is my own opinion. If you disagree/agree we may talk about it in a civilized way, I actually love talking to others about this shit!
But otherwise (hate, insults, etc.) you can keep your opinion somewhere where I can't see it :) Also, the album has barely been out for a day and things change with time and I may grow to like certain things more. (but there's not too much that I don't like tbh) But I hope you enjoy this metalhead-gremlin's ramblings!
Faster than the flame
I had to listen to it quite a few times before I could say anything about it. It's a powerful start into the new album, however, it is (as previously stated) powerful but didn't blow me away like the first songs on the previous albums. (Fire &forgive, Blessed &possessed, amen & attack - wait am I just now noticing a pattern here? oh my god. Anyway.) Maybe I got that personal feeling that I want it to be Fire & Forgive, which is, of course, not possible and would be boring. So i think I'm not even critizing the song but rather the order of the songs.
It feels like a typical powerwolf song; both lyrics and instrumental. Fast, heavy, something about flames and burning - awesome. The two Latin parts (I think it's called the pre-chorus? man, I have no idea and will just throw around these words because my internet connection is too bad to look this up. But if you listen, you'll know which parts I mean.) already give me goosebumps. I also really, really liked the bridge (again?? idk??) aka the "flame, flame, burning wild in heavens name" part. This was the most memorable part for me after the first time listening. Of course, the guitar arrangement throughout the whole song is just... god bless. I must say that using the word "pastor" is dangerous because my stupid brain keeps thinking Attila is singing about "pasta" again... Oh well, moving on!
Beast of Gevaudan
Man, I've been listening almost non-stop since it was released as a single! At first, my head was comparing it somewhat to army of the night but after a few times this feeling was gone and it became an awesome new idea/song. The choir and orchestra part are so well placed and support the rest of the instrumental and Attila's voice perfectly. Again, much fast, very powermetal. I've grown very fond of the guitar solo. The lyrics tell us a little about the story of the beast and I. Love. Storytelling. In. Songs. Glad matthew finally came around to put his idea out there!
This song also has a video, which left me speechless at first. I love Attila's acting so much??? And making this sort of their own story of Jesus was such a cool idea. Production is high quality as well (didn't expect anything less after The Sacrament of Sin MVs) and there were really nice shots in there. I doubt that I will get tired of this song and this video anytime soon!
Dancing with the dead
That choir stuff in the beginning, following by that awesome guitar riff already had me. I couldn't stop listening to this one either. This might be, in my opinion, the most catchy song on the whole album. The intruments are in perfect harmony with Attila's heavenly voice. The transition into the guitar solo is so damn smooth and well done. I'm having a whole crisis about how good this song is.
The lyrics are interesting too! Again, there's a story to be told. As far as I can interpret it, being introduced to some darker powers and growing to enjoy them, despite previously having lots of faith, is what's going on here. It has this slight feeling of... corruption (in a good way of course). This makes me want to go dancing (with the dead)
This one also has a video! Once again, very high quality. Every band member had their "special moments/shots" and just looked stunning. But Attila left them all behind this time. Slow dancing, in a suit, with that smirk on his lips??? Well done, my dude.
Varcolac
This one's dark and heavy. It brings me back to the good ol' times of Lupus Dei and Bible of the Beast. Just with more orchestra, choir and overall harmony. It makes me so happy that Powerwolf is using so many real life legends and figures on this album! And they did such a good job with them as well. If this song was alive, it would be a scary beast.
The typical metal elements and orchestra/choir parts are very well balanced. And the organ throughout the whole song is fitting. It supports the dark and sinister feeling of the whole thing. My favourite part may be the "And as army we bing fire..." parts! Man, I just love werewolves. Also, I think Attila's famous gibberish singing made a return in this one!
Alive or undead
Oh boy, here we go. The piano in this one is incredible. "Here we STAAAAAAND!" Goosebumps and shivers. Everything about this is so emotional andreading the lyrics while listening just makes me want to cry, ok?! T_T Powerwolf has become so flexible, exploring different ways to make music. This could have been some kind of typical powermetal song but it's not and I'm glad about it.
Even if it's a little different, they never stray to far from what makes them special. The few parts, reminding one of typical church music would not have been necessary but are appreciated! They know when to leave out the guitars and go slowly. What bothers me a little, is that it somehow feels like Attila's voice had a tiny bit more potential up to the chorus. It could've been a little bit softer? if i can put it that way. But honestly this song is raw emotion and everything still fits together. If you thought their first ballad was emotional, buckle up, this one kicked me right in the feels.
Blood for blood (Faoladh)
Powerwolf ventures again into the folk metal territory and successfully conquers it! Could be a headline of something. Anyway, this song is a very worthy successor of Incense & Iron! It just makes me happy, its melody is so light - combined with your typical Powerwolf lyrics. Perfect song to start jumping up and down! It radiates motivational energy. Just like Dancing with the dead, this song has a very smooth transition to the guitar parts.
The melody is strong but still easy enough to quickly get into it! I can barely sit still and write this aaaa. Seriously, I am just happy with this song and will go jump and headbang a while to it!
Glaubenskraft
I have returned from jumping and oh no. It's a German song. Bold of them to go all out on that Latin beginning... it works really well though! It might be because I'm German but this song hits hard. Very hard. It's not easy to make this language sound good and ( if you don't happen to know much about German) the lyrics consist of a bunch of old words and grammar you wouldn't normally use anymore. But they made it fucking work!!! The quiet verses only make the pre-chorus and chorus itself heavier and blow me away. And SOMEHOW this super epic song with (made up, at least I'm pretty sure they don't exist like that) Latin words is about.. you know what Powerwolf writes about a lot. And I LOVE that. It's so subtle and only if you read into it, you're like "wait a minute".
This song has a feeling of corruption too. But not in a good way this time. It feels evil and intimidating and - honestly, I can't get enough of it. Everyone of my neighbours will think I'm some kind of weird Christian fanatic because I WILL yell "Glaubenskraft" just as much as I yelled "Stossgebet". Worth it, tho.
Call of the wild
The song with the same title as the album! (or the other way around, whatever.) This song is just catchy from the beginning to the end. Like many other songs its fast and hard. Just how I like it. Don't take that out of context.
The lyrics and instruments go wild (haha get it), with a really neat Latin pre-chorus. It's very fun to listen to. Personally, it makes me feel like I belong to the pack. That we're strong together, that we can say fuck it once in a while and just go crazy. The chanted part near the end of the song reminds me strongly of Sanctified with dynamite (ya know "die, die dynamite" and "call, call, call of the wild") and it's really cool they pick up on old things once again. Be it intentional or not. It's a reminder that they still are who they were back then - and their music is still fucking incredible.
Simply an epic song, strong vocals, strong guitars. I really, really like the intro. Attila has to sing so many words in such little time, does he even need to breathe now and then?
Now I'm wondering what came first; the album title or the track title? Chicken or the egg?
Sermon of swords
First of all: WHAT IS THAT OMINOUS VOICE IN THE BEGINNING. Mark me down as horny and scared. Ahem.
I really like how the verse and the chorus have their own theme and melody going on and yet they're connected. The chorus is super catchy too! And just say it yourself "Sermon of swords", how cool does it sound??? The choir in the beginning is a really neat introduction into the whole song. The lyrics match the whole album, very much a soundtrack to go on a crusade to, like Raise your fist, Evangelist or Christ & Combat. Just... "AAMEEN!" Ok, I'm actually going insane here, calm down, Feb. These might be my favourite lyrics of the whole album I think?? (unless I said that somewhere else already, then i have more than one favourite.)
The whole song has a more "classical" feeling to it, not only in the Powerwolf sense but also in the Heavy Metal sense in general. BUT. Orchestra and choir are prefectly mixed, especially supporting Attila in the chorus. The guitar solo is really cool and sounds very Greywolf-y, if you know what I mean. It's just Matthew's style.
Undress to confess
The name of this song says it all. This is your friendly reminder that no matter how much they preach about Jesus or the Devil, Powerwolf should not be taken too seriously. When I first saw the title I couldn't help but chuckle a little.
The melody is pretty catchy and easy to remember, the organ and general approach reminds me of Demons are a girl's best friend. I absolutely love how the lyrics are on that thin line of somewhat poetic and ridiculous. Let me provide two examples here: "all the world we posess for desire and sin we carress" - man, this sounds pretty.
And there's also "dressed to hide the dark, and obsessed to ride him hard on the.... crucifix." Yeah, I... I don't know what I expected here. Anyway, this is how you describe church sex without actually using explicit words. (why are you booing me, i'm right)
Still really nice to listen to and have a good time!
Reverent of rats
We arrived at the last song of the album! And here we picked up on the speed and power again! The way the organ is played during the verses makes it so... sinister. Again, this piece reminds me of Lupus Dei. The verses keep the sinister feeling while the chorus picks up more... drama? An epic melody mixed with epic words make my soul ascend to heaven.
This guitar solo is also the absolute good shit. It might be my favourite from all the songs of this album?! Additionally, the drums? I don't know why but they really stand out here. Love how fast paced they are.
Aaaaand that's it! If you've read all the way through holy shit, you are actually a badass. Thank you for staying with me, my werewolf friend. Maybe we'll meet where the wild wolves have gone. But always remember: Metal is religion.

Hi - Ciao - Hola
Hi, guys. I’m back. I’m the Italian Anon. F Anon. I didn’t know my username wasn’t going to show up in my super long post. I think only Mari saw it (can I call you Mari?). As I said, I’m new in the Tumblr world and I’m still trying to figure out how it all works. I’m a woman and you can call me Faby. Nice to meet all of you guys.
First, I wanted to thank everyone for appreciating my post. I’m honestly overwhelmed. I really wasn’t expecting this, and you have no idea how happy this makes me. I want to thank Mari especially for posting it. I’ve read the comments from you guys, and if that’s okay with you, Mari, I’d like to keep responding to anyone who wants to talk to me through you.
To the Anon who asked if it’s possible to hack an I-Cloud:
Yes. It’s very possible. You can access iMessages by simply logging into someone else’s iCloud on a new iPhone. iClouds are one of the easiest things to hack. But when I said Caminah were hacked, I didn’t mean by ordinary people. I actually meant Epic’s IT department (who had access to all their phones so it wasn’t a fully-fledged hacking) and the ordinary people who they used and most likely paid to spread everything.
From Dinah’s phone, they managed to leak a provisional tracklist of the concert, a personal phone number, and a snippet of 5H’s song ‘Goodbye’. These are things I saw with my own eyes, but it’s rumored that there were also some of her pictures in which she was only wearing underwear, and some in which she was naked, of which, however, they covered her private parts because she was a minor. I’ve personally never seen them, so I don’t know, and I honestly don’t think that’s true.
To @omagadd:
I don’t have Twitter, sorry, Jane. I also already said this at the beginning of my post. I don’t like Twitter. Too many toxic people, too much inconsistency, too much hate, and I don’t have time for that shit. Since it can be done without being registered, I go on Twitter only if I need to see something that is there. We can have that conversation here through Mari, assuming that she’s okay with this.
To the Anon who said I’m acting like Lauren:
No, Anon, I didn’t, and I’m sorry you felt that way. I don’t put all the CS in the same box. I know there are super-smart fans. I know there are reeaally talented fans. I know there are fans from the very beginning. These are all things I said. My post was dedicated to all the CS who were giving up. I tried to remind them of past events. I literally tried to bring light into their moment of darkness. The message I tried to send them with my post is one of hope. I don’t want them to give up. That’s all. Again, I’m sorry if you (or anyone else who has read it) felt ‘attacked’ by my words. Maybe you can go read my post again and see that it wasn’t my intention at all.
For all those who have questions for me, and I repeat for the umpteenth time, only if Mari agrees, you can ask them through her. As I already said, I’ve been working on a fanfiction for over two years, and this fanfiction, it’s based on their lives, on real events. So, in order to be able to write it, I did research on research on research. I know dates. I know names. I know enough things (in a let’s say a bit stalkerish way, lol). This, is to tell you that I have the entire timeline. [I don’t know if you noticed the detailed way I put the dates and other stuff.] Like many of you, I also have proofs, and, of course, I have my theories. In my original post, there were also pictures/proofs, such as, for example, the screenshot of the conversation between Luckiest VIVIN C (for those who don’t know, VIVIN C is a medicinal product) and Nicole’s mom. I decided to leave only the text simply because I don’t want people from other fandoms to come to store them. I don’t want our truth to be taken and manipulated as they please. So I apologize already in advance if someone in the future will ask me something with proofs and I won’t want to post it.
To show you that I’m not lying, this is the example I gave a moment ago: file:///C:/Users/FabyV/Downloads/Lucy_NicoleCartolano_smom.webp  (I repeat, I don’t know if I’m gonna post any more proof in the future)
I send you a virtual hug. Always with love, Faby.
Mari, I’m about to go check your message, don’t worry. Love u.
___
Hey Faby! I am very happy to have you back in my inbox. The truth is that you have caused a lot of controversy, but a good one. The one that gives a lot of hope to the fandom and I really wanted to thank you for the time and work you have dedicated to telling us all this. And yes, you can call me Mari. And you can also use my inbox to answer the anons who will surely want to ask you many things. It’s open to you, Faby. You can use it. What you say about the hacking and the girls is crazy. I remember reading a story where Fetty’s iCloud had been hacked (I don’t remember his name, but he’s the rapper that appears in the Flex MV) and that he had information about the girls or something like that, I have a post from the I talked about it and yeah, I know Apple Clouds are easy to hack (Thank goodness I don’t have that shit). But it’s gross. That is already crossing the line and committing a crime. Even if it comes from the same industry, those bastards. I don’t think you have to apologize for not wanting to show evidence because clowns do that in advance. I think your words and your story can show that we have evidence and that it is searchable because it is public. Thank you very much Faby. Thank you for giving us what you have given us and continuing to support us. A kiss and a hug, and good luck.

what are your favourite and least favourite Taylor looks
I’m just doing candid/tour/award show outfits (mostly the latter) here because music videos aren’t super reflective of Taylor’s personal style for the most part. (Shoutout to the Blank Space MV though, it was a moment.) And of course: This is a very subjective list. This is not meant as hate towards Taylor or her stylist.
Favorites: - 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party: It’s sleek. It’s sexy. It’s simple. What is left to desire? Anna Wintour bob Taylor served some of my favorite looks ever and this dress will probably go down in history as my favorite Taylor red carpet look ever. - THAT white suit from February 2016: If I owned any of those pieces I would never stop wearing them. Never. This look is so incredibly chic and makes Taylor look incredibly powerful... She. - 2010 MET Gala: I think the theme was “American Women - Fashioning a National Identity” and while the dress isn’t anything incredibly exciting, it’s very Old Hollywood and Taylor looks beautiful in it, and I personally think it’s on theme. There is a charming timelessness to this rather simple look that I enjoy a lot. - 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Once again... Thank you Vanity Fair Oscar Party. This look feels very Old Hollywood as well, though it has a dark and vampy twist on it, and Taylor looks so hot and statuesque in it. I especially love her hair, jewelry and makeup here. The more I look at it, the more I feel like it’s EVEN BETTER than her 2016 look. - Style Outfit #1: I am not immune to Taylor Swift’s legs and flapper bead references... This tour outift fits the song so so well and I love the silhouette... - Post-Bleachella Gingham Dress (June 2016): She just looks summery and stunning and classy and beautiful.... Bonus points for the Courtney Love namedrop in the linked post, though that refers to the grunge-y Bleachella candids, that, although fun, didn’t make this list.
Least Favorites: - 2018 Billboard Music Awards: I don’t care how many hours it took to make this dress, the cut looks off and the base fabric looks incredibly cheap and I don’t think the color is super flattering on Taylor. I like the intent (Delicate.mp3) and Taylor looks sexy and confident, but I can’t stand the dress. - 2019 American Music Awards: Luke HauteLeMode tore this dress to shreds in his AMA fashion review and rightfully so. There is nothing that I like about this dress; the fabric doesn’t look great, the cut is off, what’s with the draping, why are there two pairs of straps... Why are there boots in the slit? I think what bothers me the most about this dress is that she wore it to the award show where she was going to be awarded with the Woman Of The Decade award, and this dress lacks any grandeur or impact that I feel would be appropriate for such an occasion. But also, it’s the AMAs. So. - 2015 Grammys: No, I am not choosing the infamous 2016 two-piece here, because as much hate as it may get from some people, I thought it was kind of interesting and I liked the bold color combo, because as we all know, Taylor was nominated for an album called 1989. Might as well look bold. Back to this dress: I just think it’s very boring. I don’t like the high-low situation and the stiff fabric. The color of the dress vs. the shoes is cute though. - Lacy jumpsuit (May 2016): It just looks rough :/ - 2010 American Music Awards: It’s not thaaat bad but I think the clipped-in bangs really throw me off and the sequins on her breasts look a bit awkward.
Well, this was interesting. I think my main takeaway from thinking about particular fashion moments I like or dislike is that I don’t actively hate a lot of the stuff Taylor wears (that is a waaay too strong word to use anyway), but I find the majority of it kind of uninspiring and boring. Taylor pulls off chic and classy very well and when she does it right it’s amazing, so I am not really expecting some crazy looks from her; it’s just nice when she wears something that looks well-made and expensive and tailored to her.

Blackpink The Album Review~
I love this album! All of the songs are bops, and the packaging is so cute! So the way this is gonna work is I’m gonna give a number ranking to the songs, rank then in order from my favorite to least favorite, talk about the physical albums, give my final thoughts, and then do an overall ranking 🙈✨
Number ranking for songs~
How you like that~10/10
So the first time I heard this so I instantly fell in love with it. I don’t care what anybody says, this song is a fucking bop.
Ice cream~10/10
I think the first time I heard it I liked it but it wasn’t an “I LOVE THIS SONG” as soon as I heard it. Buuuuuut, the more I heard it the more it grew on me and now I really really love this song. It makes me super happy to listen to and makes my mood rise whenever I hear it.
Pretty savage~ 10000/10
Pretty Savage is that bitch and you’re lying to yourself if you say you hate this song. The beat, the vocals, the raps 🙈✨ Oh and then when Jennie is like “saaaaavvvvvaaaagggggeeeee” and Jisoo saying “you better run run run” 🥵 Rosé saying “pretty girl” and everytime Lisa says “all my diamonds blah blah” oh my god. This song is my sexuality now.
Bet you wanna~8/10
So I had a lot of hopes for this song because of Cardi B but it kind of fell through. To clarify I really do like this song, when it comes on I don’t skip it because I still enjoy it but it isn’t my favorite off the album. Rosé’s vocals saved this song and it shows lmao. Like I said, still like the song but it’s not my favorite.
Lovesick girls~1000/10
Okay so when I first heard this I thought it was super cute and I liked it but it was just 🤷‍♀️ for me. But for some reason I just kept rewatching the MV (I don’t stream cause I ain’t got time for all that) and I would replay it everytime it came on. There are lyrics that really hit home. To be specific: “we were born to be alone but why we still looking for love” , “Everyone eventually leaves, I’ve become numb to crying, Hurt over and over again”. There were more but those are the ones that stuck out to me the most. I feel like this song applies a lot to things and relationships (like friendships and other relationships) I’ve had or have so it just hits a little different. Of course there also is Jennie’s iconic rap and then the MV! Lisa’s jacket that has flashing lights hits different, Rosé with pink hair in the bathtub, Jisoo in water 😭😭 Oh my god I can’t! I really love this song and music video.
Crazy over you~ 10000/10
Once again, this song is that bitch. It’s the beat for me and when they say “sound the alarm”, “I’m crazy over you” oh gosh it’s perfect 🥴😭 And the vocals right before the “I am crazy over you”!!!!! Don’t even get me started on Rosé and Jisoo 😭 JeSuS this song lives in my head rent free. I LOVE this song. The way I walk around the house just repeating “I am crazy over you” and dance is embarrassing. That song makes me feel like a bad bitch for some reason. Everything about it is perfect. Pretty Savage was my fafavorite song but I think this has replaced it honestly. I could go on and on as to why this song is THAT song but I’ll save y’all the headache lmao.
Love to hate me~9/10
So I don’t hate this song but it was pretty forgettable for me. The first time I heard it, it was my least favorite. It’s not that I hate it because it’s constantly stuck in my head but it just doesn’t stick out to me as much as the other songs do. However, this song hits a little different. Like the lyrics 🙈✨ Oh and I really love the part where they’re lowkey whispering. Like the “wake up, yeah, make up, maybe” that part and then Lisa’s rap....those parts hit a little different. So yeah, not my favorite but still a good song.
You never know~ 1000/10
This was the perfect way to end the album. A softer song that has that raw emotion...absolutely beautiful. This song really really hits home. A lot of people think I’m this perfect person because I’m pretty smart, I have good friends, I get the leads in the plays and musicals, im nice to everyone, I go to an art school and it basically just seems like im thriving but the truth is I do be struggling. I have a lot of hardships I’ve had to overcome and that I’m still overcoming yet a lot of people don’t know that. I’ve gone through a lot to be where I am today and people like to think I have this perfect life because that’s the front I put up. So this song just hits a little different. When Jennie sings the chorus that really hit different because it just made me think of how much hate and bullshit she has to go through. Obviously I also thought about all the hate every single one of them has to put up with. We think their lives are perfect yet we’ll never truly know how much they struggle unless we’re in their shoes. This song is so beautiful and the vocals just....wow. Idk what it is about how Jisoo starts the song but there is something so pretty about how she sings. Anyway, love this song so much. I saw some people say this was forgettable but I completely disagree. The lyrics hit different. Even if you haven’t gone through what the girls are singing about, you’ve experienced someone who has and I feel like thinking about that person while listening to the song just makes your heart hurt a little. Idk, this song is so perfect to me.
Ranking the songs in order from favorite to least favorite~
1.) Crazy over you
2.) Pretty Savage
3.) You never know
4.) Lovesick Girls
5.) How you like that
6.) Ice Cream
7.) Love to hate me
8.) Bet You Wanna
Physical Album Thoughts~
So, the physical album is super cute! So for version 3 I had the impression that it was going to have a smoky look but it ended up just being shinny so that was lowkey weird lmao. I got version 2 because pink is my favorite color but I almost got the 3rd version (version 4 was sold out when I went to preorder) so I’m glad I got the 2nd version. I love the cover of the photo book, it’s so beautiful and it was a nice little surprise that the picture changes. All of the pictures in each of the photo books are so so cute! The girls look absolutely stunning. I personally perfer their past photo books only because I’m a sucker for the concept photos and seeing pics from the music video buuut like I said all of the pictures are beautiful and I’m so happy with the quality and how many pictures are in the photo book. The only other problem I had with the photo book is I wish they did it like the past ones where all of the pink versions had color with the black stuck to the darker gray, white, and black themes. Version 2 is kind of like both of the black versions but still, the pictures are great so I cant complain at all! Love the postcards and they feel very smooth. Great pictures, could look at them all day. Love the size of the poster, very cute! I saw pictures of the group PCs and I wish they were different cause they kind of looked the same but maybe they look different in person. The sticker is so cute, love the black and white picture you get, and I LOVE the random postcards and random photo cards. Overall, you get a lot and I’m in love with the packaging. Some little things that bothered me but the quality was great so I can’t complain 🤷‍♀️
Final thoughts~
Everything about this album is perfect. There are no songs that I hate or dislike. None that I skip and none I wouldn’t listen to by itself. I disagree with people saying pretty savsavage should have been the title track instead of lovesick girls. We got the black with how you like that, we got the pink with ice cream, and lovesick girls was a mix of the two. Obviously that song meant something to the girls since Jisoo and Jennie wrote some of the lyrics and helped produce it. I think people would have complained if Pretty Savage was the title track because they always want the girls to do “something different” and lovesick girls was something different. At first I was a little sad by the fact that there were only 8 songs but honestly I’d rather have quality over quantity. Each song felt like they spent a lot of time on it and if there were more songs I feel like there would have been some filler songs so the quality wouldn’t have been as good as it is now. Like I said, packaging was cute and you get a lot. The issues I had are more personal issues and they don’t really bother me all that much so the positives out way the negatives by a LOT!
Overall ranking:
1000000/10....this album was that bitch and will forever be that bitch 🤷‍♀️

Obey Me! Brothers as songs from BLACKPINK’S ‘The Album’
I’ve been listening to the album on loop since its release. All the songs SLAPS. Eventually I came up with this so yeah let’s get started.
(All English lyrics are taken from genius.com)
Tumblr media
Lucifer: How You Like That
This one is pretty obvious.
First single from the album, first track, multiple records hit upon its release - idk sounds pretty much like “the mighty first-born” to me
The song is basically about escaping a toxic relationship. You know who else has a toxic relationship? That’s right, Mr. Godly Daddy Issues. He literally started a war against his dad.
“Again in such a dark place, light up the sky” & “In such a darker place, shine like the stars” is literally the Morningstar himself in Devildom and no one can change my mind on this. Fact.
Pridey McPrideface moment: “Look at you, now look at me”
There’s this line in the lyrics: “The day I went down with my wings lost/ Those dark days when I was trapped”, which I think fully represents his fall from heaven. Also queen Roseanne Park NAILED this scene in the MV:
Tumblr media
Yep. That’s the fall of an Archangel for me.
Tumblr media
Mammon: You Never Know
Tbh I’ve had a hard time deciding on Mammon’s song.
But then these lyrics hit me: “The words that everyone said so easily/ Maybe you can hear it soon/ I've heard enough I've heard enough/ Of the things that I'm not”
Mammon is constantly harassed by his brothers for being stupid. Sure, he might lack common sense, but it doesn’t give the brothers the full authority to shame him like that.
“But you'll never know unless you walk in my shoеs/ You'll never know, my tangled strings/ 'Causе everybody sees what they wanna see/ It's easier to judge me than to believe” That’s our classic misunderstood tsundere right there.
He’s probably the one who’s gonna stick with MC until the very end (y’all know how clingy he can be). “Even if the whole world changes/ I'm still the same”
Also remember during the Lamp event, he was the first one to say that he’d rather be with MC instead of ruling the world? Yeah, the line hits right there.
At the same time, his feelings for MC? Y O U N E V E R K N O W
(But everyone does eventually)
Tumblr media
Leviathan: Love To Hate Me
“Kinda sad that you always been like that/ See me making waves and you don't like that” Levi usually gets emotional because of mangas/animes/video games (and I wouldn’t be surprised if he would actually flood the House Of Lamentation). And how many times do we see the brothers complain about that throughout the storyline? Countless.
“Only thing I think about is big stacks” except the stacks are Ruri-chan goods.
Notice how Levi is the one who gets involved in family drama the least (unless his video games are the direct cause for them)? Sounds a lot like “I keep it light/ No, no, no drama in my life”.
Classic introvert line: “I need you? Nah, I been good lately/ Blowin' up, workin' busy” because who the fuck needs people when you can binge watch animes and blow shits up in video games all day?
Poor boy keeps chasing Mammon because of the debt. “I'm takin' back what you've taken from me” yeah you go boy.
Tumblr media
Satan: Pretty Savage.
The song title speaks for itself.
Satan is definitely a pretty boy (fight me, I dare you). He shows off a friendly smile way too often that people sometimes forget that he’s the Avatar Of Wrath.
And yeah, he can be pretty savage.
He HATES being compared to Lucifer. “It seems similar, but we are different from the core”. He loathes it even more if people start calling him by his bRoThEr’s name. “If you get our name wrong, ddu-du-ddu-du hit” aka prepare for the wrath of kitty boyo.
Did I mention how he loves messing up Lucifer’s life? That’s exactly what “Yeah, we some bitches you can't manage/ I make this difficult thing again” means.
When he gets angry, well “You better run, run, run”.
This whole song just fits him perfectly.
Well, except for the “I wore something similar to you, but it looks better on me” part because this man has absolutely no fashion sense.
Tumblr media
Asmodeus: Bet You Wanna
“MC I know you want meeeeee”
Horny song for a horny demon boyo.
Asmodeus is beautiful and he knows it. He’s undeniably the most confident demon in Devildom. He knows his looks are on another level. “Uh, I'm gonna make you go blind/ Every time I walk, my hips, they don't lie”
He’s also a party animal full of energy. Anywhere he goes, he’s gonna make sure all eyes are on him. “You wanna run with my love, I know you wanna/ From the club to the tub, you said you wanna/ Give me an all night hug, I bet you wanna”
And of course, the song screams his signature trait: his lust. “Let's do what we both desire/ On God, like I'm in the choir/ I bet you if you make me sweat, I'll still be on fire” Yeah mister, thank you for announcing your desire to have such intense sex that you’ll moan like a whole choir. Totally useful information.
Also imagine Asmo singing along to this with Cardi B.
The S A S S tho.
Tumblr media
Beelzebub: Ice Cream
Another obvious one.
“Wow, a food-themed song! Totally fits the Avatar Of Gluttony perfectly!”
That’s what you think, right? Well, there’s actually more to that.
At first glance, we all think that Ice Cream is just another summer song with cheerful and light-hearted beats, right? But haha SIKE BITCH it’s actually a horny song.
It’s even more horny than Bet You Wanna. See the lyrics for yourself.
And Beel, he may appear as a totally friendly demon who craves food 24/7 at first.
But as we go deeper into the storyline, we realise that he’s actually not nice and naive like we thought.
His personality has darker aspects (aka depressing memories) along with a needy side.
How many times were MC asked to feed him (and then given the option to have a passionate kiss with him) during the storyline? Idk, I lost count already.
Also I’m sure that 80% of this fandom wouldn’t mind being a hoe for him.
Tumblr media
Belphegor: Crazy For You
(SPOILERS FOR LESSON 16)
Oh boy, here comes the yandere vibes.
Belphie’s love is extremely obsessive. “If you're my (hu)man, I want you to myself”.
When he was trapped in the attic, he knew he needed a plan to get out. And he knew that plan would eventually trigger Lucifer so much. But he proceeded anyway and approached MC first, because all he needed then was their attention. “I know I'll have enemies long as you're into me/ But I don't care 'cause I got what I need”
Being the natural cunning demon he is, he knows how to manipulate MC into helping him. “I saw you/ And knew what I was trying to do/ I had to play it rеal, real smooth/ And once I finally made my move/ I went crazy over you”
Remember what he did to MC after lesson 16? Cow boyo began pining to us like crazy. That part was so smooth I almost forgot he choked us to death. (Admit it, some of you actually forgot about it.)
Like Jennie sang, “Feels wrong but it's right, right?”

submission:
I love how a big part of the GP or people who just listen to their music but don’t know anything about them see through this shitshow, saying it’s PR or that it’s hella sus cause of the timing, the mv, the break up and basically everything. I just love it. But I read a thread on twitter twice and the second time I read it from GP’s POV cause it made much more sense to me, probably the person who wrote it is part of the GP. And before you attack me and start defending Shon just read it from another POV, imagine you don’t know anything about the industry or your faves. And I don’t agree with few things in the thread or they are not exactly right but it brings good points.
“I think this needs to be said, because I don’t see any discussion happening on this and this topic NEEDS to be explored - even regardless of all the movements and awareness that have taken place over the years, there is still rampant and unaddressed sexism in the music industry. On February 25th at the #Oscars, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper took the stage to perform #Shallow, from the ‘A Star Is Born’. Minutes afterwards, Gaga received 'Best Original Song’, and made history for winning a #BAFTA, #Grammy, #GoldenGlobe and Oscar, in a single year. However, this aspect was hardly covered by tabloids and magazines. The intimate performance by Gaga and Cooper of 'Shallow’ involved them locking eyes, leaning on each other while singing and a powerhouse vocal run by Lady Gaga. The main focus was on the chemistry between the two and the reaction of the audience members - particularly that of Irina Shayk (Cooper’s then girlfriend). Weeks later, Cooper ended his four year relationship with Shayk, with whom he shares a child.Rumors had been swirling around ever since initial shooting for 'A Star Is Born’ had commenced but intensified after the performance and skyrocketed after the breakup. Gaga appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show and clarified that the chemistry was what “we wanted you to see"Some celebrities like Piers Morgan and Mel B did little to dispel these speculations, accusing Gaga of 'crossing a few lines’ and breaking "a woman’s code”. Tabloids, fans, magazines accused Gaga of being a homewrecker and being responsible for breaking up Cooper and Shayk. Which I feel is pretty sexist and defamatory as we’re automatically assuming that Cooper had absolutely no role in this, and that Gaga, being the woman and due to her infamous '100 people in the room’ quote had a major role to play in this. Months later, the song #S*norita by Sh*wn M*ndes and C*mila C*bello was released whose music video was scandalous at best, and a bit uncomfortable at worst, as they have described each other as being 'best friends’ consistently. After the #S*noritaVideo was released, Camilla and her then boyfriend M*tthew H*ssey’s relationship ended. And what do you know? Absolutely, NOBODY is accusing Sh*wn M*ndes of being a homewrecker or attacking him like they attacked Gaga. They shared passionate lovemaking scenes in the video, whereas Gaga just LOOKED Bradley in the eyes and leaned on him while singing a LOVE SONG from a LOVE STORY . Yet, Gaga is almost exclusively blamed for breaking up a relationship while Sh*wn M*ndes gets a free pass. Coincidence? I think not.The sexism that is deeply rooted in our mindsets proves that there is still a long way to go to dismantle the patriarchy and to eradicate the misogynistic thoughts that so many of us grew up with. .When situations like these arise, blame will almost always be allocated to the woman as they are expected to settle down with one man and remain faithful, while men will always get away due to sayings like 'boys will be boys’ which appropriate and normalize unfaithful and flirtatious behavior as being a personality trait for men. We need to talk about this. This isn’t fair and it definitely needs to be addressed. Peace.”
I just want to say, I don’t have anything against Shon, I pretty much have a neutral opinion about him – talented vanilla dude who sings cheesy songs and teens can obsess about him, putting face to their imaginary boyfriends, but he is talented. This is not about Shon, it’s about how unfair the whole situation is and what kind of an imagine they are gonna pass Camila. The media was already implying it even before these photos came out and now everyone is going crazy. And those photos are not in everyone’s favor – hotel, shirtless curly boy, holding hands, kissing behind a cactus. Basically TS 2.0, so I’m kind of anxious about how this whole thing is gonna play out. Also Fans of Shon who don’t like Camila are saying she is a cheater, a wh*re, jumping from boy to boy. And we know how the society things – if a girl sleeps with 3 boys – she is a wh*re, if a boy sleeps with 3 women – wow, what a man, respect, he is a hero. I may sound very crude, sexist and hypocritical saying this but I won’t sugarcoat it – men in industry are privileged just because they have a fucking dick in their pants. Sure, they are not allowed to do everything they want to and are still controlled but. A grown up man takes the mic from a 19 years old girl during her acceptance speech – that’s him speaking his mind. A woman taking a huge issue in the industry and making it public – she is a bully, she is having a temper tantrum. A grown up man making a video with naked celebrities without their consent, calling people names – but yeah, Taylor is the snake. Mhm. Sexism, double standards, misogyny, fucked up industry. And the media plays a huge part of all this shit, cause they try to stir up some bs, again using the double standards and people eat this shit up like a fucking bagel. The GP eats it and doesn’t think that there are two sides of the coin whereas in the industry there are 1000 sides. Even people who aren’t interested in all the celebrity drama are kind of forced to see, hear or read about it, cause it’s shoved to our faces everywhere. And they eat that shit and I hope there won’t be any more shit about Camila then there is now. I can already read some bs like “Sh*wn scored that Cuban booty who apparently jumps very fast between relationships” or something along the line just with better words but still implying it.
The second thing I want to say is about that fucking heteronormativity. Toucs said it really well and I just want to say again how fucking disgusting people are. And we are the one who has disgusting sexual fantasies, yeah right. Sh*wmila shippers using 50x zoom to see “a condom in his pocket during the party” and then comments like “they should go raw”. Fine, we write sometimes witty comments about strapons or other things when an astro comes by, but how the fuck are we the ones with the sick fantasies? Just because we ship two girls. Using the photos and making up sexual things, which are really sick that I don’t even want to say them. But yeah, we are the ones who are disgusting. And their teams do know how to bait those shonmila shippers like crazy tho. PRs were not invented yesterday, so they definitely know that fans pay attention and notice everything. Boy and a girl hold hands – bang, we have a couple. Seen outside a hotel – bang, they banged. But don’t hate the player, hate the game.
I just wanted to take this off my chest, I don’t even know if I make any sense or said the things I wanted to cause my migraine is killing me and my thoughts are all over the place. I guess we just must stick around and wait again until this “relationship” run “its course” too. And let’s hope something nice would happen to our ship or our community (Taylor please come out). Also, don’t go and hate shon or shonmila shipper, it’s not worth it, we already know that everything is our fault and we are wrong about everything and should rot in hell cause our sick fantasies.

Sunni's thoughts on the Tryforce album!
I do this everytime GG puts out a new album (i THINK I did one for Cool Patrol also but i gotta check- ANYWAY)
Here's my post of what I thought of the album and, this is my opinions so not everyone will agree. Take it with a grain of salt, I'm just sayin how I feel:)
RATING SYSTEM IS 10/10 process. 10 being best, 5 being average, 1 being buttfucking bad.
Intro:
It was cute, a nice way to start the album off with a bang. I will say tho, I noticed the theme of "its our last album" really hangs over the whole tracklist from this and that kinda throws off the good vibes. Like, yeah its the last one, but maybe not make it a huge deal that it is.
8/10
Hardest Game in the Fucking World:
I'm in the middle with this one. On the one hand, it's Dan and Arin lamenting on how hard Dark Souls is (and tbh same), but on the other hand...it's literally them lamenting about how hard the game is. Also it's from their perspective and not a game character which is weird but a cool change of pace. The lady in the intro got me confused tho, like WHO ARE YOU???
6/10
A Boy and his Boat:
My favorite of the songs of the ones they did as an MV. I love the beat so much, it has that smooth feel to it like I wanna just chill out by a pool. Dan sounds sooooo good in the bg vocals, and tbh the Zelda raps are always the best so- I'm glad this lived up to the hype. Side note the Disneyland line got me all happy inside XP
10/10
Filling in the Name Of:
So I guess this is a Tetris one? It was a little hard to figure out what it was till I listened a bit longer- and I guess Arin is the long piece that gets used all the time. A pretty funny concept xp I got all happy when Brian showed up- boy needs to be in more songs like when he was in Release the Kraken👍👍 the guitar and Arin excitement is damn good too omg
9/10
Welcome to the Mario Party
Okay this is the one I got all butthurt about before when the video came out- it's supposed to be a smooth jam and Arin is imitating Snoop Dogg, but ehhhh it's kinda just meh for me. The bridge is okay, the beat is nice, I kinda love/hate the inclusion of TWRP, like them being in it makes it sound like a real party slow jam, but also kinda cramps the style of the whole album since this is the only song that has this style to it. Also Dan does fuck all in this one and sounds super monotoned- I liked the line about him losing his invite in the mail tho- but overall, meh
5/10
Dream Daddy- A Dad Dating Skit
....the fuck was this crap?
@ GG, please don't make it like you're money hungry, because that whole skit, makes Arin and Dan seem like they're doing this for quick cash and that's REALLY not good. Couldn't we have gotten a dream daddy rap? No? ....k then. Still sucks tho.
3/10
Donkey Kong Joonyer:
It wasn't good. Like...at all. Its honestly the worst rap of the whole album. It's a one note joke, repeated for the whole run time. And it's not funny. Kinda offensive, and also really fucking dumb.
1/10
A Wild Guitar Solo Appears!:
HELL YEAH A POKEMON RAP!
Honestly this one brought back memories of me trying to learn the last pokemon rap and then listening to the first one at my grandmother's house YEARS ago. A lotta nostalgia in this one, plus the guitar solo was pretty sweet. I will say tho, I don't know if imma remember this one as much as the others. Still really liked it but I feel the other two were better? Also loved the interaction with Ash and Pikachu, it was honestly hella cute. But overall, a very good song!
7/10
The Simple Plot of Kingdom Hearts
...alright so....
This was the song I was dreading because, you guys know I'm a big kh fan and I was thinking I was gonna love it or hate it. Honestly, this one is pretty cute, and I really liked how much the announcer was actually trying to make sense of the plot this time instead of getting butthurt that it's going on for too long xp I did notice tho, they only cover the first game and not the entire storyplot which Id say is a missed opportunity but also a good choice since you don't wanna confuse everyone like crazy, even tho the firsy game KINDA does that anyway. They also made it a big deal that hey, it's the last album this is the last song last last LASTONE, and I'm not a fan of that but fine -_- it was still cute tho- gotta listen to it again to catch the points of the game they made.
8/10
Arin Checks the Mic:
ARIN WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO BE SO GOOD AT RAPPING?? LIKE, I WAS IN SHOCK THE WHOLE TIME, HE SOUNDS SO GOOD, HE WAS GOLDEN
10/10
Blowing the Payload:
Eh. It's the overwatch rap and I'm not 100% into the game anyway from the one time I played and failed miserably, but I mean- it's an okay concept. Reminds me a lot of Robots in Need of Disguise, with it being super mundane but shit happens that completely ridiculous. I did make a point before tho, Dan sounds completely unenthusiastic the whole time and yeah he's playing a guy who's playing other people so the voice shouldn't technically change, but I feel like it should have just to make it funnier (like the guy is trying so hard to get into a character to come off convincing) but then again, him not giving a shit is also kinda funny? So meh, in the middle with that. Not a fan of Arin yelling the whole time tho- it's just got KINDA annoying. Just a smidge.
6/10
Vegeta's Serenade:
Im confused as to why there's a Dragonball rpa in a video game album but sure- OKAY ARIN I STG YOU'RE GONNA MAKE ME CRY, YOU SOUND SO BEAUTIFUL ACTUALLY SINGING THIS TIME AND IT'S SO NICE- WHY DIDN'T YOU AND DAN SING TOGETHER THO- MISSED OPPORTUNITY GODDAMMIT BUT IT WAS STILL SUPER GOOD
10/10
This Song Sucks:
Not gonna say this song sucks but- it's not....good either? Lol
It's also in the middle for me- its them poking fun at themselves for the album layout where again, they say it's the last one yada yada, guys don't hammer it in- we get it.
That aside, they were kinda just throwing out what I assume is scrapped ideas for songs they never did- sad but tbh I can see how this would be a good idea and I like it. The Sonic Boom slam tho, BEST PART AND I WAS SHOOKETH.
7/10
Outro:
A perfect sendoff to the whole album. Not my favorite outro but then again, the outtros and intros were never my favorite anyway? But it got me all sentimental- this is probably their last album (if jamming it down our throats that it was the last wasn't already obvious). But still, it's cute xp
9/10
FINAL THOUGHTS
The whole album itself, has this kinda unfocused feeling, like they don't exactly have a consistent flow of songs that go with the mood- its just a "throw to the wall and see what sticks" kinda feel, for me anyway.
I think in the long run, Player Select will still be my favorite along the albums, and Tryforce might be...number 2? Yeah the first Starbomb Album is not my favorite I'm sorry xp
Then again, Starbomb 1 had more songs I hated than actually liked, so this is an improvement.
As the last album goes, it could have been a lot better but for what we got? Pretty good! Had some stinkers tho, not gonna deny that.
Damn guys, this has been a long ass journey, and Starbomb-thought not as special to me as NSP, still holds a lot of nostalgia and sentimental value to me. Tryforce isn't the best of the albums, but its a really nice sendoff to all these years of Starbomb. Hope it isn't the LAST time tho...
