Its funny isn't it. there's a side of the fandom that can only cope if they think of Eddie as some cardboard cutout that they can project onto. Its why I think they have latched onto T*mmy so quickly, because he is literally their dream beige version of Eddie and for so long Eddie being a character who has his own motivations has ruined their headcannons. Didn't someone work out that Buck this season has had way more scenes involving Eddie than Eddie has involving Buck? But Eddie is supposed to be the one twiddling his thumbs whilst Buck is out there living life etc.
No, but that's exactly it for a portion of the people on the fandom and that is definitely what made people jump straight into T's arms. Eddie is a main character. He has dept and development. He has 6 seasons worth of a personality that doesn't fit the ideal partner they see for the wobbified version of Buck they made up in their heads. And considering the way that canon established Tommy as Eddie two steps to the left that Buck is projecting feelings into, fanon went wild. Tommy has no established personality. He has the begin episodes that paint him in a not so great light. They have the few scenes that exist with Buck where he exists, okay? He's doing the bare minimum. Sometimes not even that. But that means he is a character they can project anything they want into. He's a blank canvas. That means the space can be filled with whatever they see fit. And that means they can take the personality they convinced themselves Eddie had and copy/paste into T and move on. I've seen some awful takes. AWFUL. Like, some people are legit attacking Eddie to make him look better in comparison because they can't deal with the way that Eddie is still Buck's partner in crime. Eddie is not allowed to exist outside of Buck and some people just wanted to see Oliver make out with a guy. T does that. In a blank canvas. The show is historical for handling Buck's love life poorly and people are putting too much weight on interviews. They lie all the time because they can't give things up. I wanna know what's gonna happen if this relationship isn't the smooth sailing people decided it will be. There is a chance it will be fine and end amicably. But there's also a chance that it will get messy. Right now it could tip either way and I don't think that part of the fandom is gonna be ready to deal with shit if it gets messy. If T does something that goes against the perfect pedestal they put him in. People are already ignoring actually canon stuff like the way he left Buck in a curb, failed to communicate why he was leaving until he was in the car, and then didn't come back. So like, it's crazy. And yeah, a lot of Buck's arc so far has involved Eddie somehow, but Buck is adjacent to Eddie's. But I guess that's making it worse, because they don't like Eddie unless he's providing Buck with something they see fit and they are getting that somewhere else. Some people are showing that they don't have critical thinking skills when it comes to queer couples and honestly, that's kind of alarming.

28. How they feel about [insert character] -Arthur about Van Helsing, Van Helsing about Jack, Arthur about Jonathan
(focused on two who don't journal)
Ooh, fun questions, thank you! Let's see…
-Arthur about Van Helsing: I have a few different takes on this, but generally lean on the interpretation that Arthur picks up on Van Helsing's fatherly attention toward him and finds comfort in it, especially in the wake of his own father's death. Arthur trusts him far more than he really should at first, thinking that Van Helsing is the expert here, but I headcanon that he grows a bit warier of just blindly going along with whatever the professor says, after the night Mina is attacked. Van Helsing is also the one who convinced Arthur to stake Lucy's body, and I imagine that that will always give him some complex feelings. Still, I generally like to fall back on the interpretation that they have a fairly good relationship, with reciprocal fondness.
-Van Helsing about Jack: Ha. Heeheehee heh heh! Okay, so if you've followed me for a while you know that I am a big Helward shipper, so hopefully this is no big surprise. Regardless of whether they ever become a Couple™, though, Van Helsing is weirdly intense about Jack. He drops literally everything in his life to make a multi-hour trip to London just to check up on Lucy because Jack wrote him a letter. He's always touching him, grabbing his hand or his arm or tugging on his ear. He makes jokes at his expense (which reads to me as a sign of affection) and shows his pent-up emotions to him without fear. When he thinks he's going to die, he writes his last goodbye to Jack. He trusts him more than anyone else in the world. Whatever they've got going on, it's very serious.
-Arthur about Jonathan: You are making me realize how many mutually exclusive headcanons I have comfortably coexisting in my head! There are a lot of different possibilities here, and I pick a different one each time depending on the story I want to tell. My favorite version is this: Arthur doesn't think that much about Jonathan until after Mina asks everyone in the group to stake her, and Jonathan refuses to take the vow. Arthur, who has many feelings about staking Lucy, projects a lot of his uncertainty and anger at Jonathan, thinking him a coward and a bad husband for not agreeing to Mina's wishes. They work it out eventually but it gets pretty dicey for a while. I like this headcanon because, in some sense, both Arthur and Jonathan are living in a world where the other one can't be right, or they won't emotionally survive. Arthur needs to know that staking Lucy was the right choice. Jonathan firmly believes that staking Mina would be something that must never happen. The clash between those two perspectives is so tasty! But I also like thinking about them getting along, Arthur going "it's free brother", and both of them disassociating hard enough through the conflict that they manage to never clash about the differences between them. And I ship them sometimes, too, so there's another possibility.

Edward Kenway for character asks!
ooooooo okay i should open this with a disclaimer: i have not finished black flag yet (about 2/3 of the way through i think? i need to level up my ship so i can beat the next story mission lol) so everything i'm saying here is based on the game up to thatch's death, and everything we know about edward in ac 3: forsaken and the comics that came out a couple years ago.
First impression
oh boy... to be honest, one of the reasons it took me such a long time to get around to playing black flag (it was one of the first ps4 games i bought when i got my console in 2016, and i didn't start until about a month ago) was because i didn't really feel particularly strongly about edward's character design. i was vaguely interested in That One Pirate Assassin Game after having watched (and loved) black sails, but was afraid i would be let down; to me edward just looked like Some Dude, and i was still hung up on the black sails gang. to me, black sails and its characters were so genre/time period-defining that any other piece of pirate media just seemed lackluster in comparison.
i'd also heard a lot of praise for edward and for ac4 in general so i was aware that it was a very popular and well-received game. but since i mostly heard that from reddit (didn't join tumblr ac fandom until odyssey in 2018) i kind of discounted it, bc gamer reddit tastes are... questionable at best.
Impression now
I LOVE HIM!!! i always think i want stories about virtuous characters who believe in goodness and kindness and aren't motivated by gold or glory but aren't afraid to do what needs to be done to help others who can't help themselves. and sometimes that's true (coughratonhnhake:toncough). other times i end up clowning on myself because i realize that it's so much fun when said good/kind character has a rough and rugged exterior, and is motivated by personal gain (i think edward and kassandra are kinda kindred spirits across time and space in that regard, but maybe that's another rant for another time). sometimes you just want someone to be a little bit of an opportunistic bastard, and boy does edward fit that to a T. he's an incredibly complex man, and i think what really got me was that even as he was impersonating assassins and then templars and then assassins again, all for personal gain (pickpocketing the templars in havana while he gains their trust and agrees to do their dirty work lmfao my beloved <3), his primary motivation for doing so was to prove to caroline and her family that he is someone worth a damn, that he is capable of great things and that he is worthy of their love and acceptance. and i know from ac forsaken that the marriage with caroline doesn't last (though i haven't played ac4 far enough to see if that happens on screen, or if it occurs between the game and the novel) which makes his backstory in the game all the more heartbreaking. but his optimism and perseverance and determination to prove himself are all what make me love him.
so that's edward the romantic. now let's talk about the way edward is with adewale, his crew, and his friends. and let's also put the rest of this behind a readmore bc girl i am RANTINGGGGGG
he has several lines that he says to adewale that make me physically cringe (namely: "many of [these men] wouldn't accept you as captain" or "what was it like being enslaved?" like i get that someone like edward would be asking that question in good faith and genuine curiosity but also JESUS CHRIST UBISOFT). but on the flip side - cringey as those questions are, he also takes the time to actually listen and learn, and i think he genuinely values the perspective that he gets from adewale allowing him to open these lines of trust and communication. there's a patience and mutual respect there that i adore.
i also love how much edward loves his crew and his other pirate friends. those scenes of him + kidd + thatch + adewale + hornigold (lol) drinking on the beach and having a grand old time and talking about establishing - to borrow one of my favorite chills-down-my-spine phrases from black sails - a nation of thieves, for people like them to live and prosper, free from the chokehold of civilization. and i know he's not as outwardly invested in counterculture/independence/anticolonialism as thatch and vane and kidd are, but the fact that he so wholeheartedly supports his friends' goals, lofty and impossible as they are, speaks volumes about his love for his friends.
Favorite moment
every scene he has with kidd when kidd casually and softly reminds him that they see that he is a good person beneath his opportunistic and rambunctious exterior. i especially love when they discover julien du casse's mansion containing orders for templars to go out and hunt down assassins: the way kidd immediately knows that edward wants to help the assassins as a way to make up for the damage he did while masquerading as a templar, even if he hasn't voiced it aloud himself. the way that they don't force edward to admit anything about himself before he is ready, but still constantly remind him that he has a good heart. they give him space to come to terms with his compassionate side in a world/environment that more often than sees compassion as something to be stamped out or cast aside. i don’t love when characters are forced to be the Moral Compass for a main dude character, but i think it works for edward and kidd.
Idea for a story
not an edward story per se, but there are 2 povs into edward's life that i would cut off (someone else's) limbs for:
jenny's pov growing up in the kenway household. from haytham's pov it seems that she knows way more about his past than haytham ever did (it was hinted at that there are rumors about edward’s past as haytham was growing up that he wasn’t privy to, but i don’t think at any point in the novel does haytham ever find out definitively that his father was a pirate) and i want to know how she knew so much, and more into what her life was like - through her eyes rather than haytham, who is like 10 years younger and by his own admission barely understands her and barely has a functional relationship with her. i'll expand further on edward and jenny in the next question/prompt/bullet point, actually, bc i have a LOT more to say.
connor's pov learning about his grandfather from... idk? who's around to tell him? what's so goddamn sad is that by the time connor rebuilds the colonial brotherhood he's kinda the only one left. sure there's aveline down in louisiana, but as far as we know everyone who was around in edward's generation is dead now, and i'm not sure how much of the kenway saga is preserved for connor to discover, or if all this information about their family line was discovered in the modern-day, by your abstergo employee character, and later by osto berg in the comics. which is why i so badly want a revelations-style game where connor traces his assassin heritage back to the caribbean, relives some of edward's memories, and then makes the trip to london to see his aunt jenny. it would have been such a cool way to round out the kenway saga.
Unpopular opinion
idk how popular or unpopular this is bc i rarely see other in-depth posts about it on my dash, but edward was a terrible father to jenny. he was every bit the wonderful and loving father to haytham for the 10 years that haytham had a father, but i wish we'd seen more of jenny's perspective than just a few lines of dialogue in haytham's diary: i hate the way edward sidelined her and raised her in the same manner that any other wealthy person of the time would have raised their daughter - that is, for the sole purpose of sitting pretty and marrying her off in an arrangement that would benefit the family. it's especially hard to reconcile because in ac4 there are female assassins in the americas, and there are female pirates in the caribbean, so it's not like edward isn't aware that women have as much right as any man to live life on their own terms. it just seems like by the time he returns to england and settles down with his family, he's reverted back to the societal norms and gender roles that the pirates fought (and lost) against, and it's hard not to be deeply disappointed by that.
to be clear, i don't begrudge edward settling down and becoming a Rich Society Man. dude deserves to live comfortably with his loving family. he has every right to dote on his wife and children, and leave behind the hardships of being a pirate. but i think "fightning against deeply-ingrained cultural norms/expectations is a long and bloody struggle, and after losing so many people he cared so deeply about, i think it's understandable that edward wouldn't want to continue that fight alone (and also adewale is still fighting the good fight) (do NOT @ me about ac rogue I Pretend I Do Not See It)" and "i don't love the way edward sidelined his daughter into societally-expected gender roles she did not want; it makes me think that he did not continue drinking his Respect Women Juice as much as i thought he did/wanted him to" are two opinions that can coexist.
Favorite relationship
i don't know that i ship edward romantically with anyone, actually. i thought he and caroline were cute in the beginning, but it's hard to want to ship them knowing that she leaves him eventually. and ofc there'd edward/tessa in ac forsaken, and we know they were very happy together and that he loved her so so much. but we don't see that relationship except through haytham's eyes.
as for non-romantic relationships, i already talked at length above about his relationships with adewale and the other pirates and kidd, and i'll just leave it at that. i'm also vaguely aware that edward's got some upcoming scenes with anne bonny, but i'm not at that point in the game yet so i don't have much to say about the two of them. so far i've only seen them say a few lines to each other at the nassau tavern.
Favorite headcanon
kassandra absolutely rubbed shoulders with edward at some point during his time in the caribbean; i like to think that she needed to lie low for some reason (maybe she was with the assassins idk) and joined his crew. i just need my best stabby gal and my second-favorite stabby dude to be pals!
finally, this isn't a headcanon per se but it is obligatory that any time i talk about kenways i yell for a bit about the fact that EDWARD WOULD HAVE LOVED CONNOR SO SO SO MUCH AND I'M FOREVER DEVASTATED THAT HE NEVER GOT TO MEET HIM. at the same time, if edward hadn't been murdered and haytham not been indoctrinated into the templars the way he had, i'm not sure connor would even have existed. and in a way i'm glad that edward wasn't around to see how broken and cynical and depressed haytham became, because i think that would have absolutely broken his heart.
send me a character!

Shipping Preference
Tumblr media
Multi, single, or fewship?:  I multiship but every ship is unique. Ships are usually in different verses, however Grimmjow is poly and can be promiscuous and thus some interactions (especially volatile and impermanent ones) may coexist in the same verse.
What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?:  I, as the mun, am open to just about everything. I really enjoy platonic ships.
I very rarely have romantic ships for Grimmjow.
Grimmjow is much more prone to hate-ships, rivalries, friends with benefits. Grimmjow definitely has his preferred type of interpersonal interactions.
How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?:
I do not ship anything NSFW in ANY CAPACITY with muns who are under-aged (for me this is 18 or younger).
Outside of that - Bleach has a lot of supernatural creatures! The way that these characters age physically and mentally varies across species and that is a difficult thing to explain. I usually go by maturity (which is largely determined by the mun). Children make me uncomfortable, so I really don’t write with any at all.
Are you selective when shipping?:
Not really. I’m kind of open to developing a ship with anyone, but then it actually... uh... has to be developed. That may take time. There are a few exceptions to this (either because of assumed history, or I already feel the characters in canon have chemistry).
How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?:
I have never written porn on tumblr. So I really don’t know. Usually I just start tagging the moment I think to myself “I would hate if my boss saw this over my shoulder”.
Does one have to ask to ship with you?:
Yes! Sometimes characters just start flirting. If you slide into my DMs (or vice versa) and communicate intent, I am much happier. Otherwise I will get concerned that I am making you uncomfortable.
Also, if this ship isn’t working for you I am equally happy for you to DM me and say “I don’t want to ship any more.” Communication is key!
How often do you like to ship?:
All of the time? I like writing non shippy stuff too, but my main goal on tumblr is to explore and deepen relationships. (Remember! Ship doesn’t have to imply romanticism or sex).
What is your favorite ship in your current fandom?:
GrimmIchi is the ship I’m most involved with in the Bleach community on the whole. In the RPC I think really just... I’ll ship Grimmjow with a lot of people so. GrimmLuppi, AiGrimm, GrimmRuki, NelGrimm. Platonic ships: YoruGrimm, GrimmTier. I crack ship a lot too!

hi dude i think you're a really chill blog! big soz if you're over the shipping/fics topic, feel free to ignore this. i just wanted to make a clarification, if you will. i'm a pretty new fan of mcr so i'm not too caught up on the lore, but frerard makes me uncomfortable because i began to know of them after they’d already gotten married to their wives, and i was quite hesitant about watching mcr videos in the beginning because of the aggressiveness of f+g shippers that seemed to be everywhere /1
and i’ve had bad experiences with gay fetishisers in other fandoms. RE fanfics, i haven’t been in a single real-person fandom where the fics i read didn’t end up affecting my view of the real person. especially as a young kid, being in fandom and reading fics about real people fucked up my worldview pretty bad, and it was hard not to think about the characters/caricatures when thinking of the real person. if people can separate them, great. i think fanfics on their own are perfectly fine but i don’t think fics are always completely harmless, and if someone doesn’t follow blogs that post fics, it’s a perfectly understandable decision. mcr is important to me and i don’t want to start thinking of them with any less respect than i have for them now. i’m also quite wary about certain types of fandom culture. i think the stan twitter of today for example can be more genuinely toxic than fandom culture of ye olde internet so if people have qualms about certain aspects of fandom, i don’t think it should be seen as policing. obviously the bad eggs don’t represent any one type of fan in the fandom, but they can put people off certain things. i’m willing to bet there are people who resonate with some of this and so i hope people can understand this perspective on things. no hate, we’re all part of the same fandom. thanks :)
hmmm so im not sure where to start with this. i will first say that i absolutely understand that fanfiction and “shipping” for lack of a better word doesn’t work for everyone and is not something that everyone is interested in. i am long time mutuals with plenty of people who don’t care about frerard/don’t believe they were in a relationship and we’ve coexisted very amicably for a long time. i’m not trying to push my views on anyone else or tell them they’re wrong or anything like that.
i can see why fanfiction is bad for some people but for me personally it’s always been easy to separate fanfiction from real life. i don’t know if its because i have a lot of personal experience interacting with frank or what but like it doesnt effect my view of them or the level of respect that i have for him and gerard.
people having qualms about these aspects of fandom culture is totally understandable and fine to me. i know everyone is different and has different experiences. my issue came when people with an audience started making huge generalizations about people who believe there was a relationship between them/like demonizing it. the opinions i was seeing don’t represent me at all and i wanted to defend myself against that.
i’ve been in this fandom for a very long time and for the most part people who believe they had a relationship and people who don’t have coexisted without much animosity and i was sort of hurt when suddenly people were being really aggressive about it, i guess. which goes back to what you said, we’re all a part of the same fandom. i think there are absolutely people who take things too far that i dont condone but i think thats a minority and we should all be able to enjoy this band and not come after one another for a difference in opinion here.
i know this isnt a great answer i was just trying to explain my side and reply to your points.

1) Ducktales 2) Drakepad 3) Della (even if i was only supposed to send one, at least you have options for what you want to answer ^^)
Ducktales
Favorite character: Drake!
Least Favorite character: M*rk B**ks
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): drakepad, fenro, dellumbra, dellene, three gay caballeros!
Character I find most attractive: seleeeeene!! and della
Character I would marry: frank’s alluded to morgana coming to dt17 and im staying hopeful so...magic wife
Character I would be best friends with: launchpad bc he’s everyone’s friend!!
a random thought: its a good show watch it @ my non dt followers!!
An unpopular opinion: change is good just because they changed your fav character from the old one doesn’t mean the new one and the old cant coexist and be loved by everyone w/o any fighting!
My Canon OTP: there’s no real canonical ships except maybe scroldie? which i do like even if i constantly battle between gay scrooge and lesbian goldie and then back to bi for both
My Non-canon OTP: drakepad hands down!
Most Badass Character: ms. beakley!!!
Most Epic Villain: lunaris was p formidable imo!
Pairing I am not a fan of: besides the obvious incest (this includes webby and the triplets yall!!)/pedophilia...c/rackbea/ks is the ship name i think for fenton and m*rk?
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): hmm not really thinking of anything atm except ig that it feels like there should be more about donald in the terms of him post moonvasion (but like obviously we arent that far so it might get expanded on so thats why i dont wanna concretely say he was “screwed up”)
Favourite Friendship: all the kids being friends makes me 🥺🥺🥺
Character I most identify with: drake and huey probably!!
Character I wish I could be: an interesting question that i don’t quite have an answer for yet!
Tumblr media
Drakepad
When I started shipping them: well i kept seeing cute fanart of them before i even got into dt and after i saw the hype for dwd i explored more, found drakepad, but didnt REALLY ship it til i gave dwd a try and was like “ok wow the fans werent exaggerating the gay huh”
My thoughts: its such a good ship i want it desperately to become canon i’ve never wanted a ship to become canon so badly before this is THE OTP for me.
What makes me happy about them: they care about each other sm and are already a family and are always trying to make the other be a better version of themselves
What makes me sad about them: that nagging negative feeling that theyll only be implied or never shown beyond platonic
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: tbh i can’t think of anything bc all the fics ive read of them are super sweet!! especially @/mighty-ant  @/bassiter’s fics  @/taylorthegiant@/transdarkwingduck(and some others but idk their tumblr urls)
Things I look for in fanfic: mutual love and understanding (also lots of angst AND PINING GOD THE PIIINIIIING!!!!) its also really great if gosalyns in there too bc then fambily.......
My wishlist: canon kiss on screen WHERE YOU CAN SEE IT NO IMPLICATIONS ITS BLATANT LIKE RUPPHIRE WEDDING! ALSO THEY ADOPT GOSALYN AND SING LITTLE GIRL BLUE TOGETHER AND OOOGH!!!!
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: i lowkey like fenton with either!
My happily ever after for them: get married and adopt gosalyn and then grow old together :’)
Tumblr media
Della
How I feel about this character: she’s badass and complete wife...
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: selene and penumbra!
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: i really love how much she loves her kids she wants to be a good mom and i love it ;u;
My unpopular opinion about this character: she deserves her time to shine screw what my uncle says she ain’t annoying! we’ve had a bajillion years of donald and della only made a select few appearances in some old comics no one really knows about so!
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: she faces her fear of not being a good mom and just growing and adjusting and facing what she went through for over a decade
Favorite friendship for this character: donald and i really want for us to see her and gyro itd be hilarious
My crossover ship: um...idk if crossover since she might appear but...morgana x della? i would think morg would be the same age or only a couple of years older in the reboot!
Tumblr media
Thanks for the ask(s)!!

Dragon Age Question Meme
Tagged by @galadrieljones - thanks lethallan!  This is a long one - I’ll continue it under a cut.
Tagging forward to @schoute @viktuuri-fluff-saved-my-life @thevikingwoman @buttsonthebeach @charlatron @mrscullensrutherford @oops-gingermoment @iarollane @aban-asaara @irlaimsaaralath @wardsarefunctioning and anyone else who wants to play!
01) Favourite game of the series?
I haven’t played Origins yet, but between DA2 and DA:I, Inquisition is my jam! I’ve played it 3 times already and I’m not yet tired of it! So many places to explore, and I still haven’t heard all the banter yet, and the lore is just so rich, so many codex entries, yes yes.
02) How did you discover Dragon Age?
Basically all my Horizon Zero Dawn friends insisted - INSISTED - that I play Inquisition. For some reason I thought I wouldn’t like it, like “ahh everyone says it’s so great, how great can it be.” WELP LOL. I have no regrets, but my HZD friends might, given how HORRIBLY OBSESSED I have become LOL.
03) How many times you’ve played the games?
- Origins: 0 times, but looking to rectify that this year! - DA2: 1.5 times. Ughhh Act 2... - DA:I: 3.5 times and still loving it!
04) Favourite race to play as?
Elf. Hands down. I played a Trevelyan once and was like MEH BORING.
05) Favourite class?
MAGE. MAGE MAGE MAGE. Although I’ve been playing as Fenris a lot in DA2 and it’s surprisingly fun!! Good thing too since I’ll have to be a two-handed warrior during my Fenquisition playthrough
06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?
I’ll answer for Inquisition. There are some things I always do the same (e.g. Bull saving the Chargers, allying with Abelas, making Solas APPROVE OF ME LMAO), but other things I alternate. I’ve gone with the mages and the Templars twice, respectively; I prefer picking the mages, it just makes more sense and is more “ethical” to me, but I ADORE COLE and I think the whole envy demon storyline is very interesting, so I quite enjoy siding with the Templars too. I have done something different each time at the Winter Palace, and this time I plan to do something different yet again. I strongly prefer Cole as a spirit, but I’ve had him as a spirit and as human twice each.
My Fenris-as-Inquisitor playthrough will be interesting. I’ll be playing in character as him, so it’s going to be quite different than what I canonically do, and I’m quite interested to see what happens. Solas is going to hate me oh god
07) Go-to adventuring group?
- DA2: FENRIS and Anders, and then I alternate my rogues. I love both Varric and Isabela, but depending on how far into my Fenris romance I am, I often have to leave Isabela behind because I HATE WATCHING HER FLIRT WITH MY MAN <sobbing> - Inquisition: SOLAS, Cole and Blackwall is my favourite group, but I also love bringing Cass instead of Blackwall - I love Cass and Cole’s banter. But Solas and Cole are my FAVOURITE PAIRING. I could listen to their incomprehensible chatter forever.
08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?
Damn. Umm... I put equal amounts of thought into Elia Lavellan (romanced with Solas), Athera Lavellan (romanced Abelas) and Rynne Hawke (romanced with Fenris). Before I started writing those ships, the question I had to answer was this: Why would Solas/Fenris/Abelas love her? I know why Elia loves Solas, and I know why Rynne loves Hawke and why Athera admires and eventually loves Abelas. But what is it about those OCs that those men fall in love with? I build my OCs around the men in their lives, not the other way around.
09) Favourite romance?
URGH WHY MUST YOU ASK ME THIS. GOD FINE. Fenris rivalmance, ok?? But I also love the Solasmance and the Blackwall romance to the point of swooning so just FUCK RIGHT OFF WITH THIS QUESTION THXBAI~
10) have you read any of the comics/books?.
Yes! Masked Empire and Asunder.
11) if you read them, which was your favorite book?
Masked Empire. I really liked getting more background on Celene/Briala and Gaspard (i.e. WHY THE FUCK I SHOULD GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE WINTER PALACE MISSION AT ALL). I loved Felassan and Briala’s dalen/hahren relationship. And it was just better written than Asunder.
12) Favorite DLCs?
Must agree with Gala here; Trespasser is bae, and Jaws of Hakkon is just beautiful (and also AMERIDAN <sob>). But I also liked Mark of the Assassin quite a bit! So amusing!
13) Things that annoy you.
The fact that it takes a MILLION YEARS to get banter in DA:I, and also that you can’t just click on your companions in DA:I whenever you like if you just want to hear their voice. I KNOW I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO CLICKED ON FENRIS CONSTANTLY TO HEAR HIM SAY “I enjoy following you”, OKAY? LIKE ALL I WANT IS FOR SOLAS  TO SAY “vhenan” TO ME WHILE WE’RE WANDERING THROUGH THE BLOODY WESTERN APPROACH
14) Orlais or Ferelden?
Ferelden? We seem to spend more time there. But I’m kind of neutral I guess.
15) Templars or mages?
Mages. Hands down. Sorry Templars.
16) if you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?
All parallel universes. None of them coexist. Rynne Hawke doesn’t even coexist with any of my Lavellans because Fenris becomes the Inquisitor in my headcanon
17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)
I have only one pet, Hawke’s mabari, and his name is Toby.
18) have you installed any mods?
Console only <sob>
19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?
n/a - haven’t played Origins yet!
20) Hawke’s personality?
PURPLE HAWKE, with a healthy dash of Isabela-level flirtiness. But Rynne (over?)uses humour to deflect pain and agitation and anger.
21) did you make matching armour for your companions in Inquisition?
...Maybe.
HAHAH so I made matching colour armour for Elia and Solas, yes. And I generally like to dress both Cole and myself in black and red!
22) if your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?
Ohhhh.... fuck. This is tough. - Elia Lavellan (romanced Solas): ...surprisingly, nothing really. She’s got a pretty zen kind of ‘what will be, will be’ attitude. In her darkest moments she might regret falling for Solas, but overall, she doesn’t really regret anything. - Arya Lavellan (romanced Blackwall): nothing. She is very confident.  - Athera Lavellan (romanced Abelas): honestly, she questions half of her decisions half the time. After Trespasser, she regrets not dissolving the Inquisition. (I haven’t decided yet if she eventually does dissolve it after all; perhaps we’ll see what DA4 brings us).  - Rynne Hawke (romanced Fenris): a LOT of things. She regrets letting Bethany attack that ogre. She regrets not bringing Carver to the Deep Roads, because maybe then he wouldn’t have joined the Templars to spite her. She regrets not following up more closely on Emeric’s murder investigation because otherwise maybe her mother wouldn’t have died. She basically blames herself anytime anything bad happens with her family (including the Merry Band of Misfits).
23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?
I actually quite enjoy sticking to canon for the most part, and expanding on facts that we already know. The one canon-ish(?) thing I don’t love is the idea of Dalish Inquisitors understanding or speaking a dialect of Elvhen that’s mutually intelligible with the dialect that Solas and Abelas speak. I let it slide in my Solavellan fics, but I mean, it’s been THOUSANDS OF YEARS between Arlathan and the Dragon Age. Dalish Elvhen (even if they have many many dialects, which is most certainly the case) is very unlikely to be mutually intelligible with ancient Elvhen. I’ve been meaning to write a full post about this for like a year oops
24) Are any of your character(s) based on someone?
They all contain some elements of self-insert, so... me, I guess? XD
25) Who did you leave in the Fade?
The first time I played Inquisition, I had not played DA2 yet, so I left Hawke in the Fade for LOGIC REASONS OK - Stroud was like the only senior Warden left, I thought they needed him! I’ve left Stroud there every time thereafter.
26) Favourite mount?
Well, it WOULD be any and all the harts, except for that FUCKING HORRENDOUS SOUND THEY MAKE. I thus prefer to ride dracolisks for the Coolness Factor™.

0-18
to be received by such gracious hosts I
0-25
have always heard about the splendor of
0-28
your country and the kindness of your
0-30
citizens but words do not do justice to
0-35
the grandeur of this remarkable place
0-38
and the incredible hospitality you have
0-42
shown us from the moment we arrived you
0-48
also hosted me in the treasured home of
0-52
King Abdul Aziz the founder of the
0-57
kingdom who United your great people
1-01
working alongside of another beloved
1-06
leader American President Franklin
1-09
Roosevelt King Abdulaziz began the
1-14
enduring partnership between our two
1-18
countries King Salman your father would
1-25
be very very proud to see that you are
1-29
continuing his legacy and just as he
1-34
opened the first chapter of our
1-38
partnership today we begin a new chapter
1-41
that will bring lasting benefits to all
1-46
of our citizens
1-49
let me now also extend my deep and

2-29
deliver a message of friendship and hope
2-33
and love that is why I chose to make my
2-38
first Fallin visit a trip to the heart
2-42
of the Muslim world to the nation that
2-45
serves as custodian of the two holy
2-48
sites in the Islamic faith in my
2-53
inaugural address to the American people
2-56
I pledged to strengthen America's oldest
2-59
friendships and to build new
3-01
partnerships in pursuit of peace I also
3-06
promise that America will not seek to
3-09
impose our way of life on others but to
3-13
outstretch our hands in the spirit of
3-16
cooperation and trust
3-19
our vision is one of peace security and
3-24
prosperity in this region and all
3-29
throughout the world our goal is a
3-33
coalition of nations who share the aim
3-36
of stamping out extremism and providing
3-39
our children a hopeful future that does
3-44
honor to God and so this historic and
3-49
unprecedented gathering of leaders
3-52
unique in the history of nations is a
3-55
symbol to the world of our shared
3-59
resolved and our mutual respect to the
4-05
leaders and citizens of every country
4-07
assembled here today I want you to know
4-10
that the United States is eager to form
4-13
closer bonds of friendship security
4-16
culture and commerce for Americans this
4-21
is a very exciting time
4-24
a new spirit of optimism is sweeping our
4-27
country in just a few months we have
4-30
created almost a million new jobs added
4-34
over three trillion dollars in new value
4-39
lifted the burdens on American industry
4-42
and made record investments in our
4-46
military that will protect the safety of
4-49
our people and enhance the security of
4-52
our wonderful friends and allies many of
4-56
whom are here today now there is even
5-02
more blessedness that I am pleased to
5-07
share with you my meetings with King
5-10
Salman the crown prince and the deputy
5-13
Crown Prince have been filled with great
5-16
warmth goodwill and tremendous
5-20
cooperation yesterday we signed historic
5-23
agreements with the Kingdom that will
5-27
invest almost 400 billion dollars in our
5-31
two countries and create many hundreds
5-34
of thousands of jobs in America and
5-38
Saudi Arabia this landmark agreement
5-41
includes the announcement of a 110
5-45
billion dollar Saudi funded defense
5-47
purchase and we will be sure to help our
5-52
Saudi friends to get a good deal from
5-55
our great American defense companies the
5-59
greatest anywhere in the world this
6-02
agreement will help the Saudi military
6-04
to take a far greater role in security
6-09
and operations having to do with
6-12
security we've also started discussions
6-16
with many of the countries present today
6-18
on strengthening partnerships and
6-20
forming new ones to advance security and
6-24
stability across the Middle East and far
6-27
beyond later today we will make history
6-30
again with the opening of the new global
6-34
center for combating extremist idea
6-37
ecology located right here in the
6-41
central part of the Islamic world this
6-46
groundbreaking new center represents a
6-48
clear declaration that Muslim majority
6-51
countries must take the lead in
6-55
combating radicalization and I want to
6-58
express our gratitude to King Salman for
7-02
his strong demonstration and his
7-06
absolutely incredible and powerful
7-09
leadership I've had the pleasure of
7-13
welcoming several of the leaders present
7-15
today to the White House and I look
7-18
forward to working with all of you
7-21
America is a sovereign nation and our
7-24
first priority is always the safety and
7-27
security of our citizens we are not here
7-32
to lecture we are not here to tell other
7-37
people how to live what to do who to be
7-41
or how to worship instead we are here to
7-45
offer partnership based on shared
7-48
interests and values to pursue a better
7-51
future for all of us here at this summit
7-55
we will discuss many interests that we
7-59
share together but above all we must be
8-03
united in pursuing the one goal that
8-06
transcends every other consideration
8-09
that goal is to meet history's great
8-12
tests to conquer extremism and vanquish
8-16
the forces that terrorism brings with it
8-20
every single time young Muslim boys and
8-25
girls should be able to grow up free
8-27
from fear safe from violence and
8-30
innocent of hatred when young Muslim men
8-35
and women should have the chance to
8-38
build a new era of prosperity for
8-40
themselves it has to be done and we have
8-44
to let them do it with God's help this
8-48
summit will mark the beginning of the
8-50
end
8-51
for those who practice terror and spread
8-54
its vile Creed at the same time we pray
8-58
the special gathering may someday be
9-01
remembered as the beginning of peace in
9-04
the Middle East and maybe even all over
9-08
the world but this future can only be
9-12
achieved through defeating terrorism and
9-15
the ideology that drives it few nations
9-21
have been spared the violent reach of
9-25
terrorism America has suffered repeated
9-29
barbaric attacks from the atrocities of
9-33
September 11th to the devastation of the
9-36
Boston bombings to the horrible killings
9-39
in San Bernardino and Orlando the
9-43
nations of Europe have also endured
9-46
unspeakable horror so to have the
9-50
nations of Africa and South America
9-54
India Russia China and Australia have
10-00
all been victims but in sheer numbers
10-02
the deadliest toll has been exacted on
10-06
the innocent people of Arab Muslim and
10-11
Middle Eastern nations they have borne
10-15
the brunt of the killings and the worst
10-17
of the destruction in this wave of
10-20
fanatical violence
10-23
some estimates hold that more than 95%
10-26
of the victims of terrorism are
10-29
themselves Muslim we now face
10-33
humanitarian and security disaster in
10-36
this region that is spreading across the
10-39
planet it is a tragedy of epic
10-44
proportions no description of the
10-48
suffering and depravity can begin to
10-51
capture its full measure the to crow of
10-56
Isis if you look at what's happening al
11-00
Qaeda Hezbollah Hamas
11-04
and so many others must be counted not
11-08
only in the number of dead it also must
11-10
be counted in generations of vanished
11-14
dreams the Middle East is rich with
11-18
natural beauty vibrant cultures and
11-21
massive amounts of historic treasures it
11-24
should increasingly become one of the
11-28
great global centres of Commerce and
11-30
opportunity this region should not be a
11-33
place from which refugees flee but to
11-37
which newcomers flock Saudi Arabia is
11-41
home to the holiest sites in one of the
11-46
world's great faiths each year millions
11-50
of Muslims come from around the world to
11-53
Saudi Arabia to take part in the Hajj in
11-57
addition to ancient wonders this country
12-01
is also home to modern ones including
12-05
soaring achievements and architecture
12-08
Egypt was a thriving center of learning
12-11
and achievement thousands of years
12-14
before other parts of the world the
12-17
wonders of his luxor and Alexandria are
12-22
proud monuments to that ancient heritage
12-27
all over the world people dream of
12-29
walking through the ruins of Petra in
12-33
Jordan Iraq was the cradle of
12-37
civilization and is a land of natural
12-40
beauty and the United Arab Emirates has
12-45
reached incredible heights with glass
12-48
and steel and turned Earth and water
12-50
into spectacular works of art the entire
12-56
region is at the center of the key
12-59
shipping lines of the Suez Canal the Red
13-03
Sea and the Straits of Hormuz
13-07
the potential of this region has never
13-10
ever been greater sixty-five percent of
13-15
its population is under the age
13-18
of 30 like all young men and women they
13-22
seek great futures to build great
13-24
national projects to join and a place
13-28
for their families to call home but this
13-32
untapped potential this tremendous cause
13-35
of optimism is held at bay by bloodshed
13-40
and terror there can be no coexistence
13-45
with this violence there can be no
13-49
tolerating it no accepting it no
13-52
excusing it and no ignoring it every
13-56
time a terrorist murders an innocent
13-58
person and falsely invokes the name of
14-01
God it should be an insult to every
14-05
person of faith terrorists do not
14-09
worship God they worship death if we do
14-14
not act against this organized terror
14-16
then we know what will happen and what
14-21
will be the end result
14-24
terrorism's devastation of life will
14-27
continue to spread peaceful societies
14-31
will become engulfed by violence and the
14-34
futures of many generations will be
14-38
sadly squandered if we do not stand in
14-41
uniform condemnation of this killing
14-44
then not only will we be judged by our
14-47
people not only will we be judged by
14-51
history but we will be judged by God
14-56
this is not a battle between different
14-59
faiths different sects or different
15-03
civilizations this is a battle between
15-07
barbaric criminals who seek to
15-10
obliterate human life and decent people
15-13
all in the name of religion people that
15-19
want to protect life and want to protect
15-23
their religion this is a battle between
15-26
good and evil when we see
15-30
the scenes of destruction in the wake of
15-33
terror we see no signs that does
15-36
murdered were Jewish or Christian Shia
15-40
or Sunni when we look upon the strains
15-45
of innocent blood soaked into the
15-47
ancient ground we cannot see the faith
15-50
or sect or tribe of the victims we see
15-55
only that they were children of God
15-57
whose nests are an insult to all that is
16-03
holy but we can only overcome this evil
16-07
if the forces of good are united and
16-10
strong and if everyone in this room does
16-13
their fair share and fulfills their part
16-16
of the burden terrorism has spread all
16-20
across the world but the path to peace
16-23
begins right here on this ancient soil
16-26
in this sacred land America is prepared
16-31
to stand with you in pursuit of shared
16-34
interests and common security but the
16-37
nations of the Middle East cannot wait
16-39
for American power to crush this enemy
16-42
for them the nations of the Middle East
16-44
will have to decide what kind of future
16-48
they want for themselves for their
16-50
country and frankly for their families
16-54
and for their children it's a choice
16-57
between two futures and it is a choice
17-00
America cannot make for you a better
17-05
future is only possible if your nations
17-08
drive out the terrorists and drive out
17-11
the extremists drive them out drive them
17-18
out of your places of worship drive them
17-22
out of your communities drive them out
17-25
of your holy land and drive them out of
17-29
this earth for our part America is
17-35
committed to adjusting our strategies to
17-38
meet evolving threats and new facts
17-41
we will discard those strategies that
17-45
have not worked and will apply new
17-46
approaches informed by experienced
17-50
talent and judgment we are adopting a
17-54
principle realism rooted in common
17-58
values shared interests and common sense
18-02
our friends will never question our
18-05
support and our enemies will never doubt
18-08
our determination our partnerships will
18-12
advance security through stability not
18-15
through radical disruption we will make
18-18
decisions based on real-world outcomes
18-21
not inflexible ideology we will be
18-25
guided by the lessons of experience not
18-28
the confines of rigid thinking and
18-32
wherever possible we will seek gradual
18-36
reforms not sudden intervention we must
18-40
seek partners not perfection and to make
18-45
allies of all who share our goals above
18-49
all America seeks peace not war Muslim
18-53
nations must be willing to take on the
18-56
burden if we are going to defeat
18-58
terrorism and send its wicked ideology
19-01
into oblivion
19-04
the first task in this joint effort is
19-07
for your nations to deny all territory
19-10
to the foot soldiers of evil every
19-14
country in the region has an absolute
19-16
duty to ensure that terrorists find no
19-20
sanctuary on their soil many are already
19-24
making significant contributions to
19-27
regional security Jordanian pilots are
19-31
crucial partners against Isis in Syria
19-34
and Iraq Saudi Arabia and a regional
19-39
coalition have taken strong action
19-42
against hootie militants in Yemen the
19-47
Lebanese army is hunting Isis operatives
19-50
who try to infiltrate their territory
19-54
Emirati troops are supporting our Afghan
20-00
partners and supporting them strongly in
20-05
Mosul American troops are supporting
20-08
Kurds Sunnis and she is fighting
20-11
together for their homeland Qatar which
20-16
hosts the US Central Command is a
20-19
crucial strategic partner our
20-24
long-standing partnership with Kuwait
20-26
and Bahrain continued to enhance
20-30
security in the region our courageous
20-34
Afghan soldiers are making tremendous
20-36
sacrifices in the fight against the
20-39
Taliban and others in the fight for
20-42
their country as we deny terrorist
20-46
organization control of territory and
20-49
populations we must also strip them of
20-53
their access to funds we must cut off
20-57
the financial channels that let Isis
21-00
sell oil let extremists pay their
21-03
fighters and help terrorists smuggle
21-06
their reinforcements I am proud to
21-10
announce that the nations here today
21-12
will be signing an agreement to prevent
21-15
the financing of terrorism called the
21-19
terrorist financing targeting center
21-23
co-chaired by the United States and
21-25
Saudi Arabia and joined by every member
21-29
of the Gulf Cooperation Council it is
21-34
another historic step in a day that will
21-37
be long remembered I also applaud the
21-42
Gulf Cooperation Council for blocking
21-46
funders from using their countries as a
21-49
financial base for terror and for
21-53
designating Hezbollah as a terrorist
21-56
organization which they certainly are
22-00
last year
22-01
Saudi Arabia also joined us this week in
22-04
placing sanctions on one of the most
22-07
senior Lee
22-08
years of Hezbollah of course there is
22-12
still much work to be done
22-16
that means honestly confronting the
22-19
crisis of Islamic extremism and the
22-22
Islamists and Islamic terror of all
22-26
kinds
22-27
we must stop what they're doing to
22-30
inspire because they do nothing to
22-33
inspire but kill and we are having a
22-38
very profound effect if you look at
22-42
what's happened recently and it means
22-45
standing together against the murder of
22-48
innocent Muslims the oppression of women
22-51
the persecution of Jews and the
22-54
slaughter of Christians religious
22-57
leaders must make this absolutely clear
23-00
barbarism will deliver you no glory
23-04
piety to evil will bring you no dignity
23-09
if you choose the path of terror your
23-15
life will be empty your life will be
23-18
brief and your soul will be fully
23-23
condemned and political leaders must
23-27
speak out to affirm the same idea heroes
23-30
don't kill innocence they save them many
23-33
nations here today have taken important
23-36
steps to raise up that message Saudi
23-39
Arabia's vision for 2030 is an important
23-43
and encouraging statement of tolerance
23-45
respect empowering women and economic
23-49
development the United Arab Emirates has
23-53
also engaged in the battle for the
23-55
hearts and souls and with the United
23-58
States launched a center to counter the
24-01
online spread of hate Bahrain too is
24-04
working to undermine recruitment and
24-07
radicalism I also applaud your Turkey
24-11
and Lebanon for their role in hosting
24-15
refugees the surge of migrants and
24-19
refugees living and just
24-21
living so poorly that they're forced to
24-24
leave the Middle East depletes the human
24-28
capital needed to build stable societies
24-31
and economies instead of depriving this
24-35
region of so much human potential Middle
24-38
Eastern countries can give young people
24-40
hope for a brighter future in their home
24-43
nations and regions that means promoting
24-48
the aspirations and dreams of all
24-51
citizens who seek a better life
24-52
including women children and the
24-55
followers of all faced numerous Arab and
24-59
Islamic scholars have eloquently argued
25-03
that protecting equality strengthens
25-07
Arab and Muslim communities for many
25-11
centuries the Middle East has been home
25-13
to Christians Muslims and Jews living
25-17
side-by-side we must practice tolerance
25-21
and respect for each other once again
25-23
and make this region a place where every
25-27
man and woman no matter their faiths or
25-31
ethnicity can enjoy a life of dignity
25-34
and hope in that spirit after concluding
25-40
my risen in a fabulous place that we're
25-46
at today Riyadh which I've gotten to
25-50
know so well in so shorter time I will
25-54
travel to Jerusalem and Bethlehem and
25-56
then to the Vatican visiting many of the
26-00
holiest places in the three Abrahamic
26-04
faiths
26-05
if these 3-phase can join together in
26-08
cooperation then peace in this world is
26-12
possible including peace between
26-15
Israelis and Palestinians I will be
26-20
meeting with both Israeli Prime Minister
26-23
Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian
26-29
President Abbas
26-33
starving terrorists of their territory
26-36
of their funding and the false allure of
26-40
the Craven ideology will be the basis
26-44
for easily defeating them but no
26-48
discussion of stamping out this threat
26-51
would be complete without mentioning the
26-53
government that gives terrorists all
26-55
three safe harbor financial backing and
26-59
the social standing needed for
27-03
recruitment it is a regime that is
27-06
responsible for so much instability in
27-09
that region I am speaking of course of
27-13
Iran from Lebanon to Iraq to Yemen Iran
27-21
funds arms and trains terrorists
27-24
militias and other extremist groups that
27-28
spread destruction and chaos across the
27-32
region for decades Iran has filled the
27-35
fires of sectarian conflict and terror
27-38
is a government that speaks openly of
27-41
mass murder vowing the destruction of
27-44
Israel death to America and ruin for
27-48
many leaders and nations in this very
27-51
room among Iran's most tragic and
27-56
destabilizing interventions you've seen
28-00
it in Syria bolstered by Iran Assad has
28-06
committed unspeakable crimes and the
28-09
United States has taken firm action in
28-12
response to the use of banned chemical
28-15
weapons by the Assad regime
28-20
launching 59 missiles at the Syrian air
28-25
base from where that murderers attack
28-28
originated responsible nations must work
28-32
together to end the humanitarian crisis
28-35
in Syria eradicate Isis and restore
28-39
stability to the region and as quickly
28-42
as possible
28-43
the Iranian regime's longest suffering
28-46
victims are its own people Iran has a
28-50
rich history and culture but the people
28-53
of Iran have endured hardship and
28-55
despair under their leaders reckless
28-58
pursuit of conflict and terror until the
29-02
Iranian regime is willing to be a
29-04
partner for peace all nations of
29-07
conscience must work together to isolate
29-11
deny it
29-12
funding for terrorism cannot do it and
29-16
pray for the day when the Iranian people
29-20
have the just and righteous government
29-22
they so richly deserve the decisions we
29-26
make will affect countless lives King

30-22
violence we in this room are the leaders
30-27
of our peoples they look to us for
30-31
answers and for action and when we look
30-35
back at their faces behind every pair of
30-38
eyes is a soul that yearns for justice
30-42
and yearns for peace today billions of
30-47
faces are now looking at us waiting for
30-51
us to act or the great question
30-55
of our time will we be indifferent in
30-59
the presence of evil will we protect our
31-04
citizens from its violent ideology will
31-10
we let its venom spread through our
31-13
societies will we let it destroy the
31-17
most holy sites on earth if we do not
31-23
confront this deadly terror we know what
31-27
the future will bring more suffering
31-29
more death and more despair but if we
31-34
act if we leave this magnificent room
31-38
unified and determined to do what it
31-41
takes to destroy the terror that
31-45
threatens the world then there is no
31-48
limit to the great future our citizens
31-53
will have the birthplace of civilization

commerce to inspire mankind great cities
32-17

32-25

32-33
