#had to listen to ttpd out of plain curiosity because everyone was saying how much it didn't deliver and well they weren't lying #they weren't lying about the lana comparisons either! who's afraid of little old me sounds like born to die in the verses #it's very flat tbh like you're listening to the same songs over and over #it's very hollow like the album was just made just to be made in order to keep her name afloat and relevant #not because she had something to actually say and express. her song delivery is very flat and unemotional idek how to properly express what #i mean. like she sings with no actual emotion behind the words no nerve no nothing. like she can't actually convince me that she's feeling #all that she's singing. also like the music is all the same and the way she sings them. there's no fluctuations no diversity. it's the same #song over and over. also sometimes i feel like the lyrics and the delivery don't really go together with the music #like they don't compliment each other #But Daddy I Love Him is supposedly over her fans trying to dictate her life (i have all sorts of opinions on that but it's a diff convo) an #it had 0 nerve and anger in it. i needed a little more intense a little more angry. i liked down bad and Florida (thank god for Florence 😭)#and all the breathy low vocals are not it either. it kind of makes the album flatter. there's no tension no passion in the album #definitely feels like she's trying to recreate 1989 and maybe folklore/evermore and it's not working #also people comparing this album to midnights are not wrong either #it feels like her last few releases all sound the same with no creativity or bringing something new and amazing #she really needs a break and to take a step back re-evaluate and try to create something more inspiring and fun instead of trying to #recreate the same sound over and over again. releasing album after album in such a short period of time is bound to hinder creativity and #the quality of someone's work. and maybe she does need new people to work with that will push her creatively #also i feel like she doesn't need to create such long albums. especially if you're using the same sound in every song. like one song morpths #into the other and it gets boring! especially if there's little to no build up and tension holding the song and having breathy vocals that #lead to nowhere during each song! anyway it could've been a whole lot better and she has better songs than this

#definitely expected more though!! why was this show so short we could've had way more of his trial/work with the police and then of them too #but i guess they wanted to stick to the pacing of her getting ready for her match #although it's kind of a shame because the show started off with the match fixing business #anyway very glad i watched #and i love that he's powerless to resist her (in all ways lol)#my lovely boxer #vinformation

I have the opportunity to spend a month in Michigan this autumn and that should be an easy decision (go! especially before I have more responsibilities) but it’s not

#I mean. the person I'm dating rn is from there and a big thing is us deciding that we want to try to make this work #and given that we're both very sad at the thought of things changing from how they are now we do want to try #but god Michigan is so far away #and in a car dependent country. and I can't drive. and do not want to be dependent on them or their family #but also this is quite the opportunity.. I'd get to see Detroit and Ann Arbor and Chicago and Toronto.. lakes...#it's a whole other continent that I've never been to like of course that would be exciting #but deciding to go feels so. definite. it's a real commitment to this relationship #a relationship which is making me happy but yeah. of course I still miss my ex we were together for more than half a decade #and I'm still just pained by him never working on himself because things could've been okay I think #hmmmm anyway. much to think about.

one of the funniest(........?) ways my brain has decided to cope with [gestures vaguely at lifelong abuse at the hands of the parents] is that i don't remember that this isn't normal most of the time. like i get shocked and confused when i see people talking about how they love their parents or something nice that their parents casually do for them. my brain seems to genuinely believe most of the time that abuse is the norm and anything better than that is shocking and rare

more little lighthouse quilt updates <3

ive hauled the rest of the easy to grab fabrics home now, so i think this is preeetty much what i have to work with- id still like at least one more shade of light blue but I guess we will have to see what comes up!

i need to refer back to my chart to see if i need more darker tones but im pretty happy! i need yall to trust me that the two in the middle are different colours, i could Not get it to show on camera- the upper colour (the one with the cut edge) is gonna be my backing colour too as i have an absolute ton of that!

and these are the other colours! yeeees i have... 6 shade options for the reds when i need 3... i couldn't decide which route i was going.... ill probably want some help on that one soon ':) the others are my white + lighthouse detail colours

i should have some proper updates coming soon as i start to finalise placements and start cutting out! depending on if im happy with my colour range, i might even get to start piecing it together

#i feel like i DEFINITELY need some more light blues but my options r pretty limited #in general but especially with what work has been coming through- its all one shade of grey so the pile is pretty overwhelmed w that #im also not settled on my darker lighthouse colours so we Will See #those should be easy to get tho. its the blues im worried about #looking at all this im prolly starting the robe sewing first bc i dont wanna rush in when i could've waited and got better options #im still standing firm that im not gonna buy anything for the main body of this project tho #nyxtalks #nyx sews #lighthouse painting quilt

#words #&#molly mcghee #posting a longer one because it's just that good #this whole book is a masterclass in rhythm and structure #definitely one of those stories that a less skilled writer could've fucked up very easily #kinda like jackson's the haunting of hill house actually #not that they have anything in common lol its just fresh in my mind #i feel like there are stories that are built around such a great plot that they're hard to fuck up #and then there are stories that depend so heavily on tone and mood #it takes a very specific style to make them work #this is one of the latter #like 'guy is in debt and takes a job cleaning up people's nightmares so they can be more productive' is a fantastic idea #but at the same time its very straightforward #and also very bleak #her style is what makes this story interesting #and the setting bearable #highly recommend #i love how she takes a bit of small talk‚ a ring of the doorbell‚ and then four and a half lines of dialogue after that #and spreads it out over like 6 pages #theres so much interiority here #i love the parentheticals #the interposed moments of self doubt #the punctuation choices in general #she does so much with capitalization and #dashes elipses semicolons in odd places #it all feels so deliberate. and immediate. and INTIMATE. you almost forget that this is an omniscient narrator tbh #like the misspeaking (thinking?) and self-correcting #''she flirts—flits—around the room''#absolutely incredible

I really wish s4 of turn would've included a throw back to Thomas' death (Abe's brother Thomas) when he was undercover in the British army. Since I'm sure Richard would be glad if both of his sons served, maybe not so much after Thomas' death, but still. It was built up as this big impactful thing in s1, in his trial in s3 Abe confesses that he "killed" his brother. So it was still relevant to Abe's character at that point. I know not a lot of people like Abe and wouldn't care for seeing any reference to it, but it could've surfaced in his mind after losing his father: his mother, brother, and finally, father all being dead. Since his brother served and was killed during his time serving in the British Army, it could've strengthened his bond with Mary, or something, since it's his death that caused the two to get married instead.

Peggy Simcoe Mary Anna all seem to share this in common with their development and actions )#( Abe too but I'll get to that later on )#( I think Hewlett had the best character arc in relation to this overall message )#( I think it worked out wonderfully and really made Hewlett a complex character it just really worked in his favor )#( For Abe? idk )#( it could've worked out but I think the whole not killing Simcoe at the end didn't really feel ic for me )#( we always know Abe is a vengeful sorta guy and Simcoe has scorned Abe a few too many times )#( I get it we have to have Simcoe live because of historical accuracy reasons )#( but idk I never really see Abe as the sparring type and I don't really see why Abe spared Simcoe anyways )#( Abe had a chance to kill Simcoe before but now he had another chance and idk I feel like Abe would definitely take advantage of that )#( after all the seasons )#( I think it would've worked better if they interwoven this message more with Mary and his connection to his new family )#( I completely forgot what I was about to say in relation to this lmao )#( overall I think the sparring of Simcoe and this whole message is more ic for Hewlett than it is for Abe )#( like I can see where maybe he thinks more blood and death won't solve anything )#( but idk with everything idk what would've put that in his head? he could've justified killing Simcoe easily with everything )

Just realized I agreed to cover for someone on Monday when I already told a friend I'd be on their stream at that exact time. I had a perfect reason to say no AND now I have to go back on something else I said I'd do.

I still maintain that p3p is fantastic, I always see it talked about as inferior to fes and I take a lot of offense to that but with the new port bringing it to bigger screens it. does look pretty bad

#I guess on emulators you can blow it up but I've never played p3p on emulators so #I know they didn't want to put any more work into this port than they needed to #but they're not bound by the psp's hardware anymore and it's just sad we could've had a true definitive version of Persona 3 #literally though the visuals and lack of cutscenes or the answer is the only downside to p3p #and the fact that they let you date Ken is very uhhhhhh go to jail #but other than that
