i feel like the other Joon Ki showed more nuance. (which is so weird to me, i always believed this one was a better actor, even if i haven't seen either in much.) this one mostly looks tired. although that may be the way the twins are written now.

also i'm mildly bored and annoyed. idk if it's just because the writing got worse or because i never was passionate about it in the first place and 4 years in between seasons didn't help, or both. i mean i'm 10 minutes into ep3 and i honestly wouldn't care if i never saw the rest of it.

man it's taken me like 8 months to watch arthdal 2 after it came out.... it's not like i didn't want to but tbh i was scared it would suck. I hadn't heard much about it either, but i guess that's bc it was on disney+ for some reason instead of netflix.

ANYWAY i watch it all last week and honestly it was lit. i thought about rewatching some of season 1 first, but i'm glad i didn't, there was a recap anyway and the 4 year wait helped me forget the actors that got replaced. well, not ALL......but i will say that lee joon gi did a great job. like, as a saya fan i did miss SJK ofc but if i'd got to choose his replacement it might've been lee joon gi! actually i felt so bad for saya this season, why is everything all about eunseom, he gets the girl, gets to be inaishingi AND aramun haesulla? .....dude leave some prophecy for the rest of us..... i'd be jealous too

and it's always a pleasure when my fave eum moon suk makes an appearance.... he was sooo good and MADE the 2 eps he was in

while i've never minded her as an actress (i know she gets some hate), unfortunately shin se kyung WAS kinda flat as tanya. ALSO even tho she's apparently in love with eunseom --they have this weird kiss when finally reuniting after 10 years apart-- the only times she ever shows any emotion are when yangcha is in peril (understandable!!), which brings me to....

as my season 1 fave, i was sooo glad we got more yangcha scenes and background this season! the new hair was dubious & i was sad to see the mask go after only one ep (bc hellooo his main appeal was how masked and silent and mysterious he was) but we do learn about WHY he was masked/couldn't talk (he was a child of shahati but tagon saved him!!), anyway ofc he switches loyalty from tagon to tanya bc he gets his emotions back bc of her and he loooves her. he also tries to die for her a couple times but thankfully survives the season. so tanya. girl. yangcha's right there, like eunseom who?? couldn't be me.

who knows if there'll be a season 3, i mean the setup is there (with saya sailing off somewhere with those neanthals and taelha raising an army + kid to take back arth from eumseom) but not sure the ratings were. if there's ever a S3 though, i'll watch it

 Hello!! Of course I can n.n (sorry it took so long to answer, I kept making changes to this aha). I’ve decided to list my current top 3 favourites, because apparently I’ve watched a lot.

Okay guys, here goes.

Chinese dramas:

So lately the past year or so of my life has been consumed by cdrams (and recently kdramas by extension), but here are some of my faves that I’ve watched.

The Untamed

Anyone who follows my blog knows my crazy obsession with this amazing show. It’s based off of a novel called the Grandmaster of demonic cultivation (has an anime with the same name– s2 is slowly being released right now). The story takes place in a world ruled by the evil Wen Sect. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan cross paths and become good friends (hardcore bromance). Wei Ying tries to save innocent Wen from death, and in the end, he lost almost everything. After going missing for 16 years, the pair find each other again and try to find the real villain.

It’s full of action, mystery, adventure, heart ache, supernatural ghouls, longing, whumping, and an amazingly attractive cast that should honestly be illegal. If you’re looking for a show with lots of emotional pain that will swallow you whole, then you’re in the right place. 

P/s. the 2 mains sing their love song which makes it that much more beautiful/painful.

Ps/s. IT ALSO JUST GOT PUT ONTO NETFLIX GUYS. No excuses not to binge it, and when you do, dm me so we can fangirl together.

Guardian

Another drama based off of a novel, with gay bros, longing, and adventure. Shen Wei is an immortal (kind of), and currently a university professor that has been waiting centuries for his lover/friend (Yunlan) to repay him for what he gave Shen Wei and will do anything for him. Zhao Yunlan is the head of the SID, a department that solves mysteries and crimes with supernatural origins. Together they help save others, solve mysteries, and save the world from Shen Wei’s evil twin brother. 

 All I can say about this one is that if you haven’t seen it, you’re seriously missing out (but warning, the cgi is horrible lmao). It was also super amazing seeing Zhu Yilong in a main role like this. The king of micro-expression seriously doesn’t let us down. 

Legend of Fuyao

This show had consumed my soul for about a full month and a half until I finished it. When I finished watching, it left me sad that it was over. Got to be honest, the ending is still a bit confusing, but is still worth the watch. This is an epic love story about Fuyao, an orphan looking for adventure, but gets caught in a fight between kingdoms and destiny. Along the way, she meets the Crown Prince and they fall in love, but destiny has their fates already decided. They are on the opposite sides of good and evil and need to decide whether one lives and the other dies. It’s got amazing fight scenes and a really attractive male lead (his first lead in a show I believe). Super amazing acting, because let’s be real, any show with Yang Mi is an automatically good show. She’s just too amazing.

Other honourable mentions: Granting you a dreamlike life, Eternal Love, Untouchable Lovers, the Rise of Phoenixes, Detective L– were amazing shows I could rewatch until I die.

Side note: I am super excited for Xiao Zhan’s Jade Dynasty. So hopefully that movie will be available to us soon.

Korean Dramas:

All right guys. I’ve only recently started watching korean shows about half a year ago or so, so I haven’t seen too many, but the ones I have seen I’ve fallen into a deep love with that keeps me going lol.

My Country: The New Age (ongoing)

This show only has 8 episodes so far and I can’t tell you all how amazing this show is. Words can literally not even describe how much it’s consuming every waking second of my life right now. I think the main reason is Seon ho, who started off as someone you respect, but is constantly doing bad shit. He tries to salvage good things from the wrecks he keeps making, but who knows how long that will last. He is ambiguous and slowly turning into a villain. He is slowly turning into the things he wants to destroy and it’s heartbreaking. My heart aches for him and Hwi all the damn time. I just want them to be bff again and stop fighting, but of course this won’t happen. This show has political turmoil and a country at war with a royal family and council who just wants to watch the world burn. Of course, this means manipulating everyone to get what they want, but both Hwi and SH are trying to play their own game, accidentally putting themselves against each other constantly. Watch for heart break, friendship (sometimes), and very attractive male leads aha.

Also, the music is 1000000 thumbs up. All I can say is PLEASE WATCH IT AND FREAK OUT WITH ME.

I don’t want to spoil too much about this show because it’s honestly an experience. It’s about a girl who can see when people are going to die because of the shadows that follow them. She meets a childhood friend, who has a secret, and he asks her to help him solve crimes and protect people from dying, but of course he has his own plans. Get ready for a funny and badass female lead guys.

It’s the first korean drama I watched and will always be one of my faves. It’s an incredible murder-mystery story with more layers than a damn onion. It’ll keep you on your toes and the ending makes me cri evry tiem.

Arthdal Chronicles

At first I thought this show was kind of weird, but an episode in and I was hooked. This show is difficult to explain, but it starts with a war between Arth and the Neanthal. 2 legendary babies get separated and live in opposite parts of the country. This show is hard to describe but it follows the 3 mains, Eunsom, Tanya, and Saya (and Tagon/ Taelha lol) and their fight through tragedy, and sometimes hell on Arth (lol – like hell on earth – am I funny yet). It’s all about a fight for power and revenge among the tribes. Every single character in this show has a different reason, but they all want power to get revenge, basically.

The fantasy aspect of this show and the different ‘species’ are incredible. It does get very political, but the fun of it is all the plotting, and how the characters fix their plans that don’t work out. Half way through I kept screaming at my TV for the mains (Tanya/Saya specifically) to just fkking talk to each other ughhh. Also, Saya will be my favourite unstable boy forever. 

It has 18 episodes on netflix so far, but just signed up for 2 more seasons (thank god because if they stopped at 18 eps I’d pull a Rosa Diaz and kill everyone and then myself -.-”). I can’t wait for it to come back. GIVE ME MORE CONTENT.

my ship that never sailed: Mmmmm... I can’t say Darklina because honestly, what I got from that ship was pretty much along the lines of what I wanted. It did sail in its own way. I did like Nikolina a lot at some point, but in the end I’m glad it went a different way. Zoyalai is a+++

things I need in season 2 of Arthdal Chronicles

—Nunbyeol reuniting with the rest of the Neanthals (extra points if they become a team of super soldiers, like imagine she teaches them how to use swords, they would be unstoppable)

—Tanya continuing to hear Yangcha’s thoughts so we can actually find out something about the man, preferably why he was silenced in the first place

—Eunseom unlocking more of his Igutu powers because I know they’re there; also glowing eyes need to make a comeback

—Danbyeok’s daughter/Tagon’s niece, because she was cool as heck and since we finally got a glimpse of her face in episode 18, I expect her to be in season 2

—The Momo tribe teaming up with the Ago tribe against Tagon’s tyranny, but I swear to goodness if the writers try and touch those tribes and kill anyone off, I’ll come for them

—Ipsaeng continuing to grow as a character! I want to see him start to trust more and also become more trustworthy, because he could totally be Eunseom’s right hand man

—On that note, I hope they sniff out that spy fast

—Mubaek finally getting off his butt and doing something before he loses his chance for good

—Tanya slowly accumulating more power than Tagon by being kind and good and merciful

—Taelha taking down Tagon secretly, like I don’t like the woman and I’m not exactly rooting for her, but she’s powerful and clever, which I respect

—A Saya redemption arc though I don’t feel like it’s gonna happen, especially considering that his true colors have come out. I don’t think he’ll ever be a good person per say, but I hope he chooses the right side in the end and doesn’t become like Tagon, overwhelmed by greed for the throne.

—On that note, Tagon needs a reality check where someone tears him and his poor mental state to shreds. I don’t care who it is.

—Ahh...I don’t really want this but we’ll probably get a showdown with Tagon and Eunseom eventually, given how Inaishingi is said to be the only one strong enough to fight Aramun Haesulla.

—Saya meeting Eunseom, Eunseom reuniting with Tanya, Tagon realizing Eunseom cannot be killed

—Saya and Eunseom finding out fully about the prophecy (anyone else think that Saya is the mirror of Eunseom?)

Saya felt himself throbbed at the memories of how his father had grabbed his hair just the other night and pounded him into the mattress quite furiously, all the while pressing his bearded face into the crook of Saya’s neck while growling like an animal, ‘How is it? Honestly, Saya knew they were not really in love, in Arthdal where your enemies were next door, love between Tagon and Taelha was just impossible. However, Tagon didn’t seem to think so. When Saya once again attempted to lure Tagon away from Taelha, Tagon had given him a slap across the face and snarled, ‘don’t be stupid, stay where you belong, it is not your place.’ Saya did not want to believe it, but he swore he could sense the slave girl (who was brought to be his maid) quiet giggling.

Tagon had recently brought back a bunch of slaves from the place under the Black Cliffs. They made for a great price. However, not all of them were sold off. For some reason, Tagon kept this one slave. A girl named Tanya. And Tanya had been made Saya’s helper. They had a master and servant relationship, but, behind closed doors, they were on equal footings. Tanya had said, ‘have you tried jealousy? Ah, that was an idea. Saya could try that. But with whom? Tagon knew there would be no woman that can satisfy Saya. So a man? But whom? One of Tagon’s personal guards? Saya stared dazedly at the sight on top of him. While Saya had released his essence onto himself and Mubaek, with a deep grunt, Mubaek let his seed coated the insides of Saya. So much so that some spilled out lewdly onto the white sheets of his bed.

However, even though they were both spent. Saya continued to shove his fingers inside, Mubaek asked him why as he laid next to him, and Saya replied, ‘I want to keep your cum in there.’ Mubaek was flustered. This night set off a month or two of Saya looking for Mubaek and spending his nights with him.

Within a short time of them fucking, Mubaek soon realized that despite Saya wanting to play rough, the younger male actually wanted soft touches and be spoilt. And without much aversion or difficulty, sex between them softened and Saya learned to grasp at Mubaek instead of pillows when he was hitting his climaxes. Mubaek was very pleased with the way Saya was depending on him to get his pleasures, but he was more pleased with the fact that when Saya was asleep, he would turned and cuddled up to him for warmth like a little kitten.

It must have been because Saya was desperate for affection and attention that he soon forget why he went to Mubaek in the first place. Saya spent his night being fucked by Mubaek and being loved by him. It wasn’t the same as what Tagon gave him, but Saya soon realized that he much prefer Mubaek’s way of being with him. This revelation caused Saya to slowly divert away from Tagon. He became more elusive, dodging his father, giving short replies at Tagon’s questions, and always was the first to leave if they were both alone.

For the first time in a long while, Saya was being focused on, so maybe that was why he was a bit reckless. Saya disregarded the kind of danger that Tagon posed and attempted to being intimate with Mubaek in the daylight. At a point in time when Mubaek came to Tagon’s quarters to discuss the safety of Arthdal, Saya made sure to hung around and caught his eyes. Mubaek was flustered and became unable to continue with the meeting. The next few times that Saya came across Mubaek in the street, he made sure to secretly rub Mubaek’s biceps in a manner similar to how he would touch him during their nights together. And when Mubaek realized Saya was Tagon’s son, he was slightly hesitant to continue his relationship with Saya, but Saya progressed. He made sure to let Mubaek knows that Tagon was not interested in him or what he did with his day, much less who he was fucking. Which was true, it had been days and weeks since he last have a proper conversation with Tagon, and Saya couldn’t remember one time when Tagon express disgruntlement at not being able to see Saya.

Saya continued to give Mubaek short touches and short, seductive glances whenever they were in close proximity with each other. Mubaek, like a youngster in love, was keening at the attention of such beauty and was on cloud nine. They both became irresponsible in their day to day life and in their showcase of affection towards each other.

On the other hand, Tagon was slowly losing his temper.

Something was driving Saya away from him. It had been months, months, since Tagon last saw Saya. Every time Tagon came to visit his baby, Saya always had something he had to do. It was understandable the first few times, but till this point, it was too unbearable. Despite how Saya never showed his face to Tagon anymore, every time Tagon had a meeting with his underlings, Saya made his presence known. It was insufferable.

Tagon had wondered if he had done anything to cause Saya to stay away from him and what he remembered made him cringed. He was rough, and he wasn’t delicate when he was last talking to his baby. However, Tagon did not see anything wrong. He had always had Saya. Even when he said mean things to him, he had him. He had Saya’s unwavering attention and affection. Every time he came home, Saya would be greeting him with a bright grin and thrilled expression. Tagon was always the one person that Saya would not hesitate to spend all of his time with. And more importantly, Tagon was the only one that can ever satisfy Saya. This much he was certain. He was sure there wasn’t one person in Arthdal who could ever take Saya away from him. No one could ever be compared to him.

Then Tagon came across Mubaek and Saya. Numerous times. Things between the two had escalated. From simple glances to quick touches, to draw out gazes and lascivious smiles at each other. Tagon was not stupid and he could not believed Saya and Mubaek would treat him as such. Tagon knew what was going on. Saya had found someone to replace him. To touch him and to fuck him. Saya was indirectly saying that he had no need for Tagon in his life anymore. Tagon was convinced it would not go on for so long and resigned to just wait for Saya to come crawling back to him as usual.

However, it would seem that what he thought was not the case. The sign of things had changed between him and Saya had come when he saw them at noon in one of the darker corners of his building. Tagon’s vision distorted at what he saw. With their arms around each other, they looked like lovers. Hiding from sight and sunlight by being intimate in a darkened corridor. Mubaek had Saya’s legs wrapped around him, giving Saya a deep kiss as he slowly fucked him. Based on the quiet moans and noises Saya made, Tagon was sure he was enjoying it immensely.

Tagon felt lightheaded, he had never thought, or never come to terms with the fact that Saya would ever reveal those beautiful sides of him to anyone else. But here Saya was, his beautiful son, letting himself be fucked mindlessly, face a picture of pure ecstasy; with Mubaek as the one who currently enjoyed delivering the pleasure to him.

Within his mind, Tagon’s rage screamed in agony about how it should’ve been him in that position. He was supposed to be the one that had his arms around Saya’s hips, the one that possessed Saya’s unconditioned attention and love. The one person in the entirety of the world who could ever see the different aspects of Saya’s body. Not Mubaek. Not that fucker who had been plotting behind his back. That fucker could never satisfy his baby. Tagon was angry. He was angry and jealous and hurt. And no one hurt Tagon.

Saya was startled when he saw his father in his room. It was nighttime and Saya was preparing to go to Mubaek’s quarters. He hadn’t come across Tagon all week, he completely forgot about his and Tagon’s little relationship. So Saya greeted his father happily, silently wishing Tagon would say whatever he needed to say and then leave. Tagon gave Saya an animalistic grin, ‘you’ve been avoiding me.’ Saya was taken aback. ‘What do you mean? I haven’t.’ Saya then moved over to his mirror and began to sort out his hair. ‘I thought you were busy, you’re the one that haven’t come to visit me. I mean. I am your son after all, such neglect coming from you, father.’ Saya mused playfully, with his new relationship with Mubaek, Saya slipped back into the platonic father and son relationship that he used to share with Tagon almost unknowingly, unaware of Tagon’s brewing rage. After all Saya was still young and quite naive, his mind changing rapidly. However, unlike Saya, Tagon knew what was happening and was aware of his surroundings. His Saya was trying to redirect their connection back to how it used to be. Back to when Tagon could only palm himself discreetly to the memories of Saya in his head. Back to when they had only a distant relationship.

‘Father, are you alright? You seem distraught.’

Tagon grinned.

my OTP: You know, I think before the rewatch, I would have said Rory x Jess, but I realized that truly, I like Jess more than I like the ship itself- the ship is just an excuse for me to see more of him. They still make me perk up though, but they don’t quite have OTP status. I also like Luke x Lorelai a lot, but again, I don’t feel suuuper strongly about them either? you make some really good points about eunseom that i didn’t even think about!!!! he has absolutely no experience when it comes to being a leader and has no idea the issues and struggles he’s going to undoubtedly face while leading 30,000 people, especially when he plans on using all of these people to fight an entire union/nation. i also think that his adamance to do things the way he was raised will either be his downfall as a leader or his saving grace. i kind of hoping it’s the latter since it’s worked out for him so far? idk maybe i’m naive but i want to believe that his kindness and his empathy will be what leads him to success? the fact that he has compassion for others already makes him so different from the people of arth and i think that’s what the people need…. idk i feel like i’m not wording this properly LMAO you’ll soon find out that i am very bad at articulating my thoughts lolololol (3/8)

i’m scared for him; i have no doubt he’s a good person and he’ll be a good leader, but like they say, everything fails before it succeeds (or...something like that...maybe that’s just me haha). yes, eunseom is definitely someone who holds strong to their morals and isn’t persuaded easily. he’s resilient, which we’ve seen, but he’s also like twenty years old and heavily traumatized, as we also saw. 

honestly, you’re fine with articulating your thoughts, but i’m also bad at doing it lol. i’ll have a good idea and then spend fifteen minutes talking in a circle with a lot of stammering and stuttering.

taelha…………………………………… no words. she’s in a league of her own and while there are times where i absolutely cannot stand her because she’s actively doing horrific things, you have to admire her tenacity. she’s so clever and everything so far has worked out in her favor, yes she’s been in dangerous situations and almost had her feet cut off but she was able to get out of that situation and she just!!!!! amazes me. same with nunbyeol. we see her as this like fragile girl that can’t do much but then….. she gets a sword or goes neanthal and it’s just !!!!AHH!!!! i’m so excited to see what she does and where her character goes, i have adopted her as my daughter. (5/8)

yeah...she’s an evil woman, but also a powerful and cunning one...have to support, but also have to hate, if you know what i mean. one thing - and i was just reminded about this thinking about kim okvin - is that all of the cast is spectacular at conveying emotion through their faces, especially her, saya/eunseom, and tanya (tagon...he’s alright. he’s a presence.)

YES i already talked about this, but when we had the overvoice of what a neanthal with a sword would be like and we see her taking them down? amazing. chills.

i also wish mubaek would do more but i’m kind of glad he’s been sidelined, if that makes sense. if he was too actively team eunseom i feel like tagon would have killed him by now so instead he very subtlety helps out which while annoying because we know he knows everything and could do so much (!!!!), is kind of warranted. true...my memory is a little blurry, but tagon was already suspicious of him, wasn’t he? because, if i’m remembering right, mubaek isn’t from arth, is he? isn’t he from another tribe? i might be recalling it wrong. also his brother (mugwang) is dead now, so idk if that’s going to shift his opinion...i can’t remember if he did anything about that, since it was relatively near the end - OH but he did pull a card out and told saya that he was a twin, wasn’t he? which...kind of actively goes against tanya’s plan, doesn’t it?

head empty no thoughts.. yangcha sexy.. but seriously when tanya started reading his mind i got so excited! if he’s not a main character next season, i think he’ll at least be more present? which at this point i will take anything i can get. the whole mask and no speaking thing is so interesting, we deserve answers!! i whole heartedly agree with everything you said about mungtae! tanya, eunseom or dalsae! one of them has to be the one to kill him or i’m rioting! it’s the least they deserve (7/8)

if that wasn’t the whole fandom watching this ;-;. yeah, we need him on secondary level, as he’s already advanced from background to more tertiary. you can’t have a man that hot and not do anything with him - they were honestly just teasing us before tanya came in, our saving grace with her mind reading abilities. a wahan should end a traitor to the wahan’s, yes.

when i started chocolate i actually had no idea what it was about LOL some girl in front of me was watching it during class once and i got really immersed in it and just decided to watch it from like the 10 minutes that i saw. i usually never have a reason behind watching a drama…. i kinda pick a random one and see what happens… my brain doesn’t make any sense lololol (8/8)

lol i’m the girl watching kdramas in class. well, if i can. i actually just finished my skim watch of it - i couldn’t really tell you much about the hospice or the romance plot, but i just skipped to the family dynamics...don’t get me wrong, i usually don’t skim kdramas (hardly ever...the last one must have been school 2013 like three years ago), but i like chocolate? but it was too melo esque and slow for me, so i skimmed rip.

omg you admire my dedication……. an angel thank you so much!! when i get into a show that i like i make sure to watch at least one episode a day, i don’t know why it’s just how my brain works and i thought it was dumb but apparently i’m just dedicated :D if you really want to, why not watch it a second time around!! you might catch some stuff you didn't the first time!! it might be smart to wait to rewatch until we're closer to season two so everything is fresh in your mind!! that’s actually a really solid way to go about things, and i’m glad it works out like that for you. i already told you i’m a hare brain when it comes to this stuff - i’ll rewatch shows i haven’t even finished lol, and i rewatch shows i’ve finished in sporadic bits because they’re comforting (i did that a lot during quarantine). i want to rewatch, but i want to time it right, you know? like during a time i can afford to get immersed in it, maybe after i’ve finished some shows that i should finish (i need to make a list for the summer...). also, i heard the release date for season 2 got pushed back to 2022 instead of 2021 because of covid...i don’t know if that’s confirmed though.

!!spoilers for the arthdal chronicles incoming!! my feelings for the characters in arthdal have literally changed so much. in one moment i’ll admire a character and then absolutely hate them the next and it’s a lot of fun LOL despite that my feelings have never changed for eunseom! i’ve always admired him and i have a lot of faith in him and he’s just such a good person! (2/9)

i know, it’s like a normal kdrama but it really feels like you’ve watched 3 kdramas in one, because of length and how much happens. eunseom is everyone’s no 1 boy, honestly. he never did anything wrong *insert that meme, or whatever*. 

that being said, i’m still a little scared of him being inaishingi and basically ruling the entirety of the ago tribe because as we’ve learned from the show, being in a position of power corrupts you, no matter what your intentions are so i’m a lil nervous but then i also remember that eunseom is eunseom so i’m worried for nothing lol (3/9)

(side note but i’ll be talking about this from memory and it’s been like 10 months SO) but even though he’s like a god, he’s not actually a god, not yet. and eunseom at his core is good - that being said, i know what you mean; honestly haven’t thought about that. i’m more scared that he won’t know how to lead, or that he’s not exactly equipped to lead a rebellion - more like i’m worried he might act in his own self interest instead of for all of ago, if you know what i mean? because he’s leading this whole group he’s not actually a part of.

i also like dalsae, xabara, tanya, chaeuun and the neanthals!!! i have so much to say about the neanthals omg i really wish we saw more of them but i also understand why we don’t. they’ve almost been completely wiped out of existence so they don’t really get involved with anything which i completely understand, i just wish!!!! that when rottip met eunseom that he would’ve said or done something. i waited all season for that moment, waiting for it to maybe happen and rottip just walked away (4/9

i understand why but :/ ipsaeng is kind of a bastard but i still like him a lil bit. i also really like mubaek and yangcha even though they’re like. bad guys and members of the daekan forces (5/9)

one moment, i have to go remind myself who dalsae is...and oh, right, i do like him a lot! ipsaeng is pretty funny himself. and yes!!! the females in this show were awesome, especially xabara and chaeun and nunbyeol (tanya and taelha get their own category). yes!! when rottip and eunseom met, i really thought he would matter more to them, but i kind of understand why it went down like that...i think the other (hot) neanthal reminded rottip that they couldn’t really connect? ah, it was something like that. i had complicated feelings about it as well, but i hope that they’ll meet again in season 2 (and i hope nunbyeol wrecks arth with her sword, i remember when we first saw her fight with a sword in neanthal form; i was s c r e a m i n g).

mubaek is good, but also annoying. he knows this, but he’s complicit in all the evil actions going on. like, man, if you know that much,  you should use it to do something. knowledge is power! but he preferred to be sidelined and not do anything. yangcha is so hot...seriously, but i think he’s so interesting. the fandom needs to know why he has a mask on, there’s so many theories. i love how tanya could read his thoughts, but we still didn’t get many of them, but i think it shows how he’ll be more of a main character (hopefully) in season 2.

i know you asked for characters i like but i can’t help but mention the one character that i absolutely DESPISE. like saying i despise him doesn’t even truly explain my feelings for him (6/9)

I CANNOT STAND MUNGTAE he’s literal scum i hate him so much…. the fact that he betrayed eunseom and dalsae when they were literally coming to rescue him!! OH MY GOD and then everything that happened with teodae and eunseom having to see it and being traumatized by it………. i hate mungtae and i wish i wish he would face the actions of his consequences but there is no justice in arthdal so he will most likely get away scot free (7/9)

MUNGTAE CAN PERISH. he needed to have died in episode 1 seriously. it’s fine if you’re a coward, but not a snitch...everyone’s afraid, but at least they have a concept of loyalty. omg...teodae, the fact that eunseom got so traumatized by that made me want to sob. imagine you have a friend who you want to help save, but such friend loves their mind because of the situation they’re in and begins to believe the lies about you, tries to kill you, and then kills themselves in front of you...every episode of this show should have been titled: eunseom is wrecked and traumatized. again. part xx.

honestly, my hope is that tanya or eunseom straight up murders him. or dalsae. he can’t survive season 2, not on my watch.

a lot of people were complaining about the ending being vague or just not good in general, but i thought it was the perfect ending! the ending was relatively lackluster in the sense that nothing too crazy took place and what’s gonna happen next season was laid out relatively clear? i mean tagon wants to conquer the east and made a point to mention the ago tribe so i think we’re going see like eunseom’s return (?) as in he’s gonna actively become a problem for those in power in arth again (8/9)

i didn’t actually know people were saying that, because i thought the ending was so good. in my opinion, the whole finale of it serves to do two things which are a) tie up loose ends for season one and b) establish the continuation needed for season 2. arth was always going to continue, but it also builds suspense for season 2: there’s going to be a war, but tanya and eunseom are on different sides. saya knows he has a twin. AND there’s that awful women spy...she can perish as well. us clowns watching the show for the first time really thought we were going to get an eunseom and tanya reunion...we were played.

i’ve mainly watched like movies or variety shows for idols that i like but for some reason i never really got into kdramas until like right now. i’ve only seen 4 in total LOL but i’ve liked all of the shows that i’ve watched so i can’t complain. i’ve seen hello monster, arthdal, prison playbook and chocolate! (9/9)

oh, seriously? that’s amazing! i’ve watched 3/4, and right now i’m actually skimming through chocolate - i’m not really a fan of all the melo nonsense they have going on, so i’m mostly watching it for the sibling scenes and jun’s scenes haha...
