Delullu, same ! This afternoon, before the chapter released, I had commented about how I thought it was gonna be something like "copia lost the keys and the door won't open". I've been saying "CALLED IT" all day lol

I'm also super excited about the music as well and the new aesthetic the next era of ghost will have

Also you mention not liking the chapters masks very much, I'd like to hear more. Honestly I love how expressive Popia was like... he OPENED HIS MOUTH, he actually opened his mouth for real, who are you and what have you done to copia ?

The mask thing: I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at the Masks for drawing him (and autism reasons) and theres a ton of differences between them (especially between the Cardi masks, but thats not the topic here now). The chapter mask is one of the earlier Popia masks and I dont know, it's just weird, the overall shapes are a bit worse than my preferred ones (the 2023 EU/early US mask and the one from the LA shows onward), the crooked hairline etc etc.

The main reason why he opted for the new mask ("surgery") was because TF was feeling claustrophobic in the much more tighter fitting masks before that (thats why those had much better articulation (like, 2018 copia looked like a real dude in both the masks there! it's really good! but also many of terzos masks, even if they almost squeezed his ear off), fit nicer around the mouth etc, were not as huuuge as the popia head, all that) and to allow more freedom for singing (hence the big jaw). This causes a weird mouth situation (the downward turned corners of his mouth, weirder lips, the "bend" in the lower lip (as seen in profile; because of the mask being so far away from the face, pic taken from here and the other is one of Ryan C's from the Ticketmaster site, to illustrate what i mean with "bend") etc, (most of these things are hidden by the black paint when he wears the full facepaint).

the mouth is the main reason why chapter copia looks so "weird" to many and is declared "ugly"; but when you draw him, all you need to do, really, is to fix the mouth and his face works!). Which is perfectly fine for concert things - the main focus should be on him feeling fine and being able to sing as good as possible!

But for the chapters, i feel, it would be cool to have on that focuses a bit more on the expressions and realism, you know? you dont have to be able to sing for 2 hours in this one. and he does have the budget to commission a mask for the chapters, if he can afford that fancy suit

Dont want to talk too much about the copia masks, because this would cause a level 9 autism event; one day i might publish my mask guide with a timeline and highlighted differences, though, heh.

seeing people's takes about the whole watcher situation is just a bit.... mind-boggling.

i think the apology they posted was good in the sense that they admitted to fucking up and walked back on their decision, and i think the model they've settled on now is a lot more reasonable (having content be released earlier for those who choose to subscribe), but like.... that doesn't mean that no one should've ever been mad at them in the first place???

like seriously, why does it seem like people are looking at a "good" apology and thinking "huh! they sure did apologize well! i guess that means that it was ridiculous for people to be mad in the first place! no one should have ever complained!!". if no one complained, they wouldnt have walked back their decision! they would've kept going with their dumb completely paywalled option!

and thats not even getting into the fact that their financial woes seem to come from completely mismanaging their money - hiring people when they can not afford to and spending more money on "high quality productions" when they cant afford to.... these are core issues that im not sure will be completely fixed by this? but idk.

also, this situation i think has really helped my own self come to terms with the fact that i do not enjoy many aspects of their content. i sorta already knew that considering i can not remember the last ghost files video i watched because i find that shit incredibly boring and overproduced, and even things like too many spirits have become a chore to watch bc they decided to extend the Not That Funny drink making portion when i just wanna hear some funny spooky stories.

anyway i guess my ultimate point here is: im glad they acknowledged they fucked up, but i also am not sure how interested i am in their content anymore in the first place. oh well

i know astrology is fake but i'm not too keen on how a lot of people on this website seem to be clowning on it as a hobby a bit too hard. i swear the woman who thinks it's neat how she and her friends with the same sun sign are all similar isn't trying to say that you are who you are born as and there is nothing you can do to change it. it's a hobby. an interest. what happened to finding meaning and joy in the small things. does it affect you if someone enjoys tarot reading or crystals. does it make you upset someone has interests that they enjoy.

I think one of my biggest regrets about the NEL is that we don't get as many of the in between plays as we used to in the U20 Arc.

I mean like-- those shots of Chigiri running up the side of the field, Bachira and Isagi doing 1-2s across the field, Reo blocking Aiku with that marvelous chameleon replication, Gagamaru's insane saves along with Aryu and Niko's defense... Rin and Isagi's cooperation, that one panel of Chigiri being frustrated that he's being subbed out, Karasu being a defensive midfielder and honestly reading the field incredibly well, all that jazz. Even on the U20 side, you had those incredible defense quadruple, Sendou popping in and out, and of course Aiku, Sae and Shidou. As time wore on the focus primarily switched to the latter three (Sendou has his shining moments) but you could feel that there were many people fighting for each second on the field.

Like, the NEL feels so goal focused? Not that U20 wasn't, but somehow the in between plays felt equally important. It really made you feel like there were 11 players on field for both sides. That this match has everyone doing their absolute best to win because it was do or die for them. I understand that the NEL doesn't have the same stakes now, but it's odd. Now it feels like there's only one important character on field, and that's because you can see that they're about to score.

I think that's why I seem to prefer the U20 game over any of the NEL ones. Hmmm.

Before I go to sleep I leave you all with this piece of advice: sometimes you don't actually have to answer big political questions, sometimes you can just say "I am not smart enough to know that, I just know the small things I do to help." Like you can often times completely avoid making a fool of yourself if you just say you don't know.
