Danny phantom episode “Girls night out” deserves more hate. Like it’s the worst of season 3’s shift into more generic superhero cartoon plot lines imo, it’s gender politics are noxious. Something about the art is especially not working for me. ember and spectra should be trying to maul each other.

I ended up reading The Price of the Phoenix and while it didn't make me want to bleach my eyes like Killing Time, I still didn't like it as much as I hoped I would. Don't get me wrong, the homoeroticism was intriguing to me, but the actual writing and storyline itself left me with a headache. I think I get my hopes up with these books, given all of the possibilities that the written word has for Trek, and it inevitably sets me up for disappointment lol

#if u liked it thats fine I just kind of hated it #star trek #The only ones Ive genuinely liked so far is STTMP and the one about Garak written by Andrew Robinson #i wish Roddenberry had written more. STTMP was no literary masterpiece but his writing style had a lot of potential and I feel that #he actually captured the characters authentically and you could relate to their feelings #Price of the Phoenix had all of this corny alpha male shit going on that almost made me feel #like the author just didn't know how to write men or something #Like they relied a lot on stereotypes of the time which sucked considering that Kirk and co. are supposed to be living in the future #the dialogue was clunky and even confusing at times #and the characters were just #idk. vapid to me #Like Kirk and Spock's love for each other is portrayed which is nice but basically everything else about them just didnt feel #accurately characterized or otherwise explored #it was basically just muliple chapters of several different versions of Kirk getting his ass kicked & this big weird villain dude taking up #space on the page with his plan to take over the universe or whatever #the reincarnation concept was intriguing but the themes just weren't clear enough for me #the end haha #sttos #k/s #review #price of the phoenix #well Im glad I read it anyway I was curious #i get kind of leary of certain K/S content TBF since a lot of it- esp around that time- comes off as voyeuristic towards M/M relationships #a lot of those ppl didnt exactly care about queer movements as much as they cared about seeing their two fictional favs fuck #yes there were queer writers but we didnt always exactly get center stage in these things #you can tell what is written with respect and whats just kinda. written. you feel me #i love K/S and its history but Im not gonna pretend all or even half of it was written with the intention of uplifting queer men #i ended up having more to say than I realized uhhhhhh to be continued at another date

since i started star wars at like 14, i didn’t really get the full political implications or just the innate tragedy of it. it’s not supposed to be a happy story but there’s supposed to be hope. i always thought anakin wasn’t to blame going to the dark like maybe if he had a different master or wasn’t groomed by palpatine but in reality he was a grown ass man with full jedi training that chose to get married (“in secret” bc i swear everyone knew they was fuckin, they just didn’t want to banish him bc they saw him as the chosen one) and chose to kill younglings and massacre an entire people and kill another jedi and turn to the dark side. even if he had really strong emotions and felt things on an insanely intense level bc of midichlorians or whatever he still had full fledged jedi training to be able to control that and yeah the jedi temple was so corrupt in the way they were just cops with telekinetic abilities and fake buddhists but like HES GROWN. no matter what he experienced it was his choice. he was weak and he chose the dark side. so he is not babygirl. he’s hot. but he’s not baby girl. it was over even before he force choked padme cause he killed them kids he said no more jedi too bad so sad.

i never understood padme’s death tho it was kind of a plot hole to me just she just lost the will to live and just died after giving birth like what????even if she is force sensitive (ALLEGEDLY) that’s still crazy. i think it was soley for the anakin-vader plot so that he wouldn’t think of his actions or to maybe (idk if this was on purpose) justify his actions bc he had nothing left.

also sorry if u haven’t watched star wars yet…i recommend release order and clone wars and rebels animated series. forget about the mandalorian and the “ahsoka” show it literally doesn’t matter.

#ik there’s gonna be a new jedi order and theryre coming out with a new trilogy but sw is turning into marvel in the way u need to watch #all their stupid ass series to watch a bitchass movie or one show. if u content can’t stand alone it fucking sucks #also i hate when ppl quote yoda just bc he’s old doesn’t mean he’s not stupid #also i think the jedi values kinda ‘dehumanized’ jedis like leaving their families no attachments like what are y’all fighting for ur just #glorified cops. i think especially when u see the poverty in corusant which is supposed to be the planet for the AMAZING republic..some #peopl have never seen the sky…do something bout that. #if i have learned anything from my grandparents parents uncles and aunts it's how not to treat children and spouses #i hope I'm a good wife to my wife and that i never put them through pain I've seen people put their partners through #i hope i never treat any children in my life like they do #i hope my possible children my nephews and nieces and my siblings always know they have a home with me #EVEN if I'm mad or disappointed in them #even if they scream how much they hate me i hope they know i love them I'll still feed them and make sure that's safe #i hope the people in my life never have to question of they're loved or safe with me i hope i can provide for them so they never have to go #with out something they need and then some to spoil them i want these people loved #i don't want my daughter to think because she talked back to me or is dating someone in not super found of that I'm goin to throw her away #i hope all the kids in my life always know I will try to take care of them as best i can no matter what #not trusting your elders to love you sucks ass not trusting your partner to love you through the scary bits of life sucks #i know so many men who just leave their spouses or cheat on them when they're wives get cancer #that's one thing I'm glad my dad did everything he could to try to let my mom know he loved hwr when she was here at least #i didn't understand or like some of the things he did but qt least he stayed with her and loved her then #unlike some people I'm regrettably related to #i hwar people at work talk about their spouses also one lady wants her husband to die #and it makes me sad i hope to God. my wife never has to question how much i love them i hope they feel loved and special forever #i hate how people treat the people they say they love the most i hope i am not like that i hope i never ever get like that

#like. y the last man (hulu version) had trans men among the survivors - which #even if they could have been folded into the narrative a BIT more seamlessly when strangers singled out yorick as a rare sight to see #- basically felt like an accurate reflection of the world we live in #i also am inclined to give y the last man more leniency bc the showrunner had said she had ideas to integrate trans women as well in s2 #and also because they spelled out the science more clearly. as strictly a chromosonal thing #and ALSO because idk. just. in vibes. y the last man wasn't fucking at all with the idea of essentialism or the idea that #the Event might be in any way a feminist stroke of luck #but the power is kinda playing with fire (heh) here bc #in the early stages it is seen by many characters as a chance for women to finally have... you know..#power #so it feels like... a miss that the show treats it as an awesome thing that all women and only women happen to have #i kinda think this plot sucks and i hated the book and i'm not surprised that the show maintains the whole like #''what if girl power but then girls were also bad?????'' lame ass attempted logical gotcha #i mean the book lost me when it had a scene where a group of young women at a rally in nigeria #gangraped the only male character who was a sort of feminist in progress #i'm just not buying what this show is selling i fear #ugh. i miss y the last man (hulu version) bring back y the last man!!

was bored so i scrolled down the blueycapsules william tag on twitter only to find out there was some kinda silly argument i think over William's design a few days ago with some people saying they hate it and stuff (these people seem to hate the whole comic, actually), comparing the blueycapsules design with rebornica's Vincent and stuff for some reason

and then some blueycapsules fans would come in saying that William's design isn't supposed to be attractive in the first place and i am like excuse me what-
