last song i listened to:
im being honest it was summer buzz by nika...! go listenn please their music is always so beautiful. i wanna do a cover of this song sometime soon... (probably not acapella this time bc i like the percussion too much) i have vague ideas for an mv that i am not sure i have the skill to execute but i wanna try anyway. i need to lay down some thumbnails but i see it in my brain it's similar in style to iyowa's imawanokiwa mv
alsoo this wasnt the question but im recommending this vocaduo song because its really pretty and i like it a lot
currently watching:
i watched spirited away for the first time this past week it was soo lovely...! a while back i went on a mall date with a friend and i bought a cute spirited away button down just because it was purple and i said to myself "well i haven't watched spirited away but if i watch it and like it that'll justify the purchase right?" and then forgot to watch it... but now i have, and i liked it, so i can wear that shirt without a heavy conscience 👍
currently reading:
not really "current" but i recently read the storytelling animal by jonathan gottschall for one of my classes next semester and i liked it! some parts i found irritating but it was still a fun read to pick apart. ive also been meaning to get back to reading the insomniacs after school manga... the anime was so so so wonderful but the only scanlation i've found for the manga doesn't look all that high quality ;w; i still wanna read it though
oh also JUST last week finished rereading heir's game by suspu, beautiful beautiful comic. andd last month i reread when the day comes by omyo which is my favorite webtoon of alllll time ever. sorry for being a webtoon guy i promise i do it with a distinct theme-understanding air 💜
current obsession:
i have been working for like a month on english translyrics for eimin no susume by narumiya. this isnt my first attempt at writing translyrics (i have tried so many times to write translyrics for itte by yorushika but i think that song's just impossible to translate well in general) but it is the first time ive gotten anywhere close to finishing them... im not as mindblowingly depressed as i was a few weeks ago so im not actually sure i'll still want to cover the song by the time i finish these lyrics but i wanna see it through to the end! and its a fun song to sing anyhow (speaking of covers ive been sitting on this 90% complete cover for a while that i just need to finish recording harmonies on..... maybe i'll go do that after i post this)
also my mom made egg tarts yesterday and they are so awesome and tasty. obsessed with those for sure as well
this isn't really an obsession but i also want to mention i started gnosia a week or so ago at the recommendation of a friend, i kind of got off on a rocky start with it because it wasn't what i was expecting (i am a diehard fan of hidden role games but the singleplayer gameplay just does not scratch that same itch for me) but once i got past that i really started liking it...! i haven't played in a few days but i wanna get back to it
tag 9 people:
umm i dont know that many people ^_^ do it if u wanna do it! no pressure @larnax @vivi-mire @neildylandy @thebeggarlover @ptolemaiios @sunnymatsu

Hey, hope you're doing well. To start, I absolutely loved "Cold Hands, Warm Heart" (vampire Jun has my heart, and the whole world you created around the idea was beautifully executed and described) and "Under the Sun: Woozi" (this series has to be my favourite of all time and I can't wait to read the other parts when you get there in your own time). But, I wanted to squeal about "Dark & Stormy." You have my whole heart for this one and mentioning Resident Evil 6. It's one of my... (Part 1/2)
It's one of my Resident Evil games. I know it's not overly scary and it wasn't well-received by diehard fans at its release, but I personally liked it. The co-op is fun, I enjoyed the split pathways, and it did a lot of fun things (Sherry, Piers, and Jake). Anyways, gaming with the HHU would be so fun and you captured their personalities perfectly in your drabble. I love your writing so much. I hope you don't mind me constantly saying so (I send a lot of anon asks). Take care! ❤ (Part 2/2)
anon it is 100% ok to send me as many asks as u want!! i love talking to ppl even if i don't always like... get to my asks immediately :(
i'm glad you've been enjoying the fics tho! vamp jun fic had been in my drafts for almost a month and ik i wasnt gonna like... make it a long fic (i would have drafted a proper plot out if i was going to) but im glad people have been enjoying it so far <3
also aaa ty for enjoying under the sun! ive kind-of started on wonwoo's part even tho im gonna have to adjust my plans a bit. i'm honestly looking forward to his part a lot sfkhsdf literally my three biases all in a row since woozi-wonwoo-hoshi... also no shade to jun/joshua/jeonghan but i am so ready to be done w their parts bc i rly rly wanna write cheol's :( i've been building him up for So long... i just wanna write his part n give him the kisses he deserves :(
its been so long since ive played any of RE6... its absolutely not the most well received but theres some fun ideas in there that i do enjoy!! but the co-op is absolutely great dskfhsdf i was playing co-op w my dad years ago but we never got far into it :( piers and sherry my beloveds...
tysm anon for the nice ask!! its a v nice pick-me-up since ive been between depression and physically being sick today (which isnt fun!!! i ate two spoonfuls of peanut butter today and thats all i can rly handle at the moment bc low energy + my stomach hurts, i'll try to eat a proper meal tomorrow)

and introduction.
meet elijah.
Tumblr media
hey guys! im lina! im 18 and im in the cst timezone. im currently a freshman in college and ive also been rping for like 6 years now ( i started on the neopets chat boards. if thats not an embarrassing fun fact idk what is ) but i havent rped since this summer since school was and still is kicking my ass. im really into musical theater, marvel & dc, and disney! i also used to be a lifeguard at a great wolf lodge for 2 years so if u want any funny stories about stupid children, or even just wanna be friends, lmk! im also SUPER sorry this intro is so late. i was gonna do it yesterday but then my friends wanted to hang and it kinda went downhill from there. im actually posting this like 20 min before i have a lab practical so i wont be able to reply until late tonight, but like this post to plot or anything!
some fun facts abt elijah:
he was adopted when he was around 3-4? he was abandoned and left on the back of a merchant cart headed to corona, where he was then discovered and then put into the local orphanage since no one was sure where he came from or who left him. all he had was a stuffed bear (named wooly), a basket of water and fruits to eat, and a letter that explained that:
his name was elijah
he was 2 (born on february 28th)
his parents couldnt care for him, so they hoped he would be found by a kind soul who could either take care of and love him, or else get him to someone who could
they loved him and only left him in the hopes that he would have a better life
he lived in the orphanage for almost 2 years and the few months before the 2nd anniversary of his arrival, rapunzel & eugene visited the orphanage that eugene grew up in and fell in love w/ eli, promptly adopting him soon after. he barely remembers anything about his abandonment and time in the orphanage, but always wanted to find his birth parents and let them know how he turned out. he kept the bear and basket in his room but carries the letter around with him in his wallet wherever he goes.
his full name is elijah frederic fitzherbert. he was given the middle name frederic in honor of his grandfather.
but, he much rather prefers eli. doesnt mind formalities but insists on people who know him to call him by his nickname. except he HATES being called “highness” bc he thinks it sounds stupid. he wont get upset per se if u keep referring to him as “your highness” but he will get annoyed
he very much wants to fulfill his role as “corona’s golden boy” by contributing back to his people. he worries for the kingdom more than he worries for himself and is always trying to prove that he is worthy of being a prince rather than just some random kid who got lucky enough to get adopted. most of his days are spent doing modest favors and helping out the townspeople or visiting the villages surrounding the kingdom.
when he’s in the castle you can almost always find him in the kitchen! boi loves to bake and cook. he loves the way food can bring joy to everyone. he often makes goods to give to the townspeople or the kids at the orphanage, where he volunteers at least every 2 weeks when hes not busy w prince stuff.
has an acute fear of disappointment. he feels so much pressure to prove his worth that came from growing up thinking if he did anything wrong he’d be sent back to orphanage, esp since his parents had another child. they wouldn’t want or need him anymore. he mostly got over this when he broke a vase when he was 12 and tried to run away from home, except he fell out the tree that he used to climb out his window and broke his leg lmao. his parents assured him that no matter what he did they would still love him and never abandon him, and his dad also taught him how to climb trees and roofs without dying (much to his mom’s chagrin). even tho hes pretty much over it, it kinda lingers subconsciously. thus, he overcompensates in everything he does and gets overly anxious about small problems
growing up he thought the stories that his dad told him about his past were so cool, despite the fact that he would almost always only hear those stories when he was being taught lessons of what he shouldnt do. he used to run around pretending to be flynn rider and his dad played along, planning play heists for them to do together (think scott & cassie in that one scene from ant man and the wasp) but they stopped when eli hit that age where he thought it was embarrassing to play w his dad. but, it really helped him bond w eugene and help him work on his coordination bc eli is CLUMSY AF
eli legit trips over nothing at least twice a day.
he bonded w his mom through art tho, which eventually turned into aesthetic desserts and meals! thats another reason why he loves baking and cooking so much.
when his 1st sibling was born when he was 5 at first he was jealous. he didnt get much attention at the orphanage due to the fact that there were so many kids and he was just starting to get used to the idea of having parents didnt have tons of kids always trying to win their affection and attention. he thought having a little sibling was the worst thing in the world and would hide from his parents bc if they couldnt find him they couldnt send him away. he hated his sibling.
until he met them. the second he saw their chubby face he was hooked. he swore that he would do anything and everything for them. and that continued when his parents adopted his other siblings as well. he absolutely adores them and acts like the protective older bro role
thankfully, with such a large age gap eli never rlly had to go through any of those petty squabbles that siblings usually have. he was always pretty protective of them tho and would fight when he thought they were being reckless and dumb out of his own fear that if they got hurt he would be an awful big brother (again, fear of disappointment)
he loves to travel bc his mom would always take him to these extravagant kingdoms and on these amazing sightseeing trips
this boy is hopeless when it comes to love. i can imagine lots of ppl liking him on top of all the ppl throwing themselves at him bc royal, but him being completely oblivious and thinking that no one likes him.
he had rlly bad ADD as a kid but its gotten better as hes grown. he still occasionally struggles w executive functioning tho and always gets rlly frustrated when he cant focus or remember
like i said earlier, clumsy af. no coordination. the only athletic ability he ever had was horse riding and running
that said he has a horse named may (short for mayonnaise. dont ask
he likes music a lot. prob learned piano at a young age
he probably is at the party bc royals? idk
EDIT: although (currently) unknown to eli, his true birth mother is maleficent. when eli was 2, his birth father took him away from her and had her suppress eli’s natural born powers. his father realized he was unfit to care for him, so he was the one who abandoned eli.
wanted connections!!
obv his parents and siblings? i mean cmon
one ( or both???? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ) of his birth parents!!!!! they dont have to know that eli is their son or mayb they do and are too scared to tell him, but being trapped together will eventually make it revealed
childhood friends! people he met when he traveled w his mom or met at royal social functions? i rlly also want friends that he would hang w at all the royal galas and stuff and they would go do dumb stuff like look sneak out and look for secret passages of make bets of who could dump more crab cakes into the stuffy duchess’ purse when she wasnt looking
people who know him solely through his family
someone who likes eli and eli legit has no clue, no matter how much they flirt and drop hints
people who hate eli! or even just dislike him, which makes him upset bc he doesnt like the idea that there are ppl who dont like him in the world. mayb bc sometimes he gets super highstrung when things arent going how they should b and he like lashed out at them once or something. maybe they hate his parents and on principle hate him. idk
someone who was w eli in the orphanage
past relationships? i feel like hes never rlly had a bad breakup tho, its just that they prob just didnt work out. hes also bi so they can b any gender. hes still looking for his otp
idk, legit anything. send me those plots man

Estelle Jude Baste & Kate Sullivan, FASA 2020-2021 Co-Cultural Chairs
Tumblr media
“Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story?”
Act I: Exposition
“I’M A GENERAL CULTURAL CHAIR, WHEE!” We remember the excitement that came with our election into this position! To be a Cultural Chair is to have a big commitment and a great responsibility. It requires three cultural programs each semester with emphasis on traditional FASA events like Tinikling on the Diag or our annual Philippine Cultural Night. For starting out, this can seem overwhelming at first, but remember that you have a team to support you along the way.
“Immigrants [+ Filipinxs]: we get the job done.”
One of the most important things we learned from our predecessors was that no matter what, YOU ARE FILIPINX ENOUGH.
Estelle: Coming into FASA as a freshman, I remember feeling super excited that I was finally able to have people my own age with whom I could share my culture and experiences with, without feeling singled out for my differences and ethnicity. Our experiences are all unique, and perhaps mine is no different. I had a different upbringing and I have a different ethnic identity. Growing up, I had only my Mom and my Bisaya community to rely on, all of whom were of the older generation. I grew up with traditional values and felt detached from the American community and way of life at times. Even now I have to admit that I sometimes still feel like I don’t entirely fit in with FASA, because of my background. It was hard for me to understand how to act around Filipino-Americans, simply because I had never done it before. I felt that I wasn’t American enough, or maybe I was too Filipino, or sometimes I felt the other way around. I ran for Cultural Chair because I wanted my experiences and others who may also have similar experiences to be reassured that they are not alone in their struggles to find a place for themselves.
Kate: I actually stumbled onto FASA by accident with the help of the lovely Ms. Bea! Growing up I did not have anyone to share my culture with other than my mom and this made me feel really singled out because in my community I was not “white enough” and in groups of Filipinx people I was not “Filipino enough.” This led me to grow up truly detached from my Philippine culture. Coming into FASA, I learned that despite my lack of cultural knowledge I was still Filipinx enough and FASA truly gave me the space to explore all avenues of our culture. Running for Cultural Chair was an opportunity for me to explore the culture I never had while also encouraging others to explore their culture because no matter what our differences in upbringing we are all Filipinx enough.
“I am inimitable, I am an original”
As people, we get to define our culture and explore it in our own ways but throughout our time in FASA we learned that other than the typical things people tell you that influence your culture (i.e. upbringing, languages, etc.) what really helped shape and explore our culture was the people in FASA we got to explore it with. Throughout the hardships we faced in promoting our culture it was okay to feel disconnected sometimes, but when given the opportunity to explore and promote our culture? “We’re not throwing away our shot.”
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the chaotic dynamic we have
ACT II: Rising Action
“And Peggy. Estelle! Kate!” Your Co will be there for you throughout the whole journey and who is to say you won’t become close friends :) Talk with each other, learn about each other, find your dynamic. What are you like as a leader? What do you lack? As boardies there are a lot of challenges you will face as you plan for events, but play off of your Co’s strengths and weaknesses. You NEED them. Things get difficult, difficult, lemon difficult sometimes, but as long as you communicate with and trust your team nothing can stop you (other than COVID Guidelines. STAY SAFE!).
“This is not a moment. It’s the movement.” As Cultural Chairs your main focus is not just the three events you have each semester, it is the culture you incorporate into everything FASA does. Your FASA events are not purely Cultural Chair events. They are FASA events, so utilize your team, communicate and trust your team to the fullest. You have E-Board, your co, super helpful interns and general members who are willing to help you along the way <3

Mitolohiya Month Was Such A Blast! Thank You To Everyone Who Participated :)
ACT III : Climax
“Let me tell you what I wish I’d known.” We came into this position not realising yet that sometimes what we envision will not be what goes through. The pandemic unfortunately skewed many of our initial plans and ideas and we had to learn to adapt each time. Our advice to anyone interested in Cultural Chair is to plan ahead and plan for the worst case scenario! In this role, overplanning is not a thing and we promise you that it will enjoy your events a lot more when you do not have to run around during the event to figure things out.

Ang Sarap Sarap! Celebrating Thanksgiving Virtually At The Thanksgiving Mukbang!
“Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now!” And perhaps our biggest piece of advice, have fun! This role may take a lot of time and planning, but at the end of the day you should be able to enjoy your events with everyone else. Be yourself, relax, and enjoy the work that you have created.
“Legacy. What is a legacy? It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.” We faced a lot of challenges during our time as Cultural Chairs, but everything you do as a member of FASA counts for something. Never forget that as a boardie, your opinion will always matter, and that every moment you are appreciated. Never forget that as a Cultural Chair, your position is so unique––you are valued in FASA for your insight. It took us a long time to grow and evolve as leaders and Culture Chairs, and realise that we are valued and we are appreciated. Our ideas are uniquely our own, our events uniquely our board’s, and every act is a small seed planted into FASA’s garden. One day we will get to look back at how the next set of Cultural Queens took those seedlings and adapted them into their own plants and ideas. And we can’t wait to see that happen.
Tumblr media
“It’s over der, do-on!”
ACT IV: What Comes Next?
“In New York [*cough* FASA E-Board *cough*] you can be a new man person.” Being a FASA board member can take many forms, so there is no one way to be a cultural chair or any other chair. Dream big, plan for the worst case scenario and go with the flow. Each position has lots of potential to grow with so explore all possible avenues and don’t be afraid to reach out when you need help.
“I wanna be in the room where it happens.” Do you wanna be in the room uh meeting where it happens? We recommend running for board if you have any interest in growing with FASA while also giving FASA what you have to offer! We are so grateful for FASA and this opportunity to share our culture with all of you and we cannot wait to see what ideas you can bring to the table.
Tumblr media
cringe but cute HAHA
DENOUEMENT: The Curtain Call
“Teach me how to say good-bye.”
Estelle: Thank you FASA for a great year and for allowing Kate and I to grow into the position of Culture Chair and letting us feel like our work truly mattered. We went through so many ups and downs together, as Cultural Chairs, as a board, and as a student org. It’s been a wonderful experience to have been able to be a part of something as beautiful as sharing Filipino culture with all of you.
Kate: Thank you to everyone in FASA, for helping us grow while being patient with us as we did. This year has brought on a lot of challenges and it has been a wonderful journey to explore our culture virtually with you. We could not execute PCN without all of your support and love <3 We know FASA is in good hands and we wish you all the best of luck during elections.
With the best of luck to our future boardies, and with the greatest anticipation, we look forward to our next round of Culture Chairs!
“RISE UP!”
Taking One Last Bow, and Raising a Glass to Culture,
Estelle and Kate

INTRO TO ANIME: A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE
want to get into anime? well, you’ve come to the right place BUD. below, i have some personal recommendations for people who don’t know where to start/wondering where to go from x, y, or z
ESSENTIALS (these shows are classics/must-watches in order to be ‘initiated’ into anime. once u watch these, u can start branching off into ur personal taste more):
COWBOY BEBOP - a space odyssey. beautiful, tragic, and groovy as hell -inspired by jazz, specifically bebop (hence the name) as well as western culture, bebop is a perfect entry level anime for someone not fully used to anime tropes and whatnot. i would recommend the english dub for THIS anime and only a handful of others, mostly because of stephen blum’s amazing job at voicing spike. if you really dig this anime and want more like it, i would watch samurai champloo. it is bebop’s spiritual successor in some sense. both have a trio of misfits each on their own individual journey, and both are inspired by western culture and music. champloo has more of a hip-hop spin, which is pretty cool.
AKIRA - this is a movie, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a classic. it actually inspired 2012′s chronicle. this movie is important in multiple aspects, one of them being the animation, which was insanely impressive given the time period it was made in. they also spent hella money making it, so ig thats the tradeoff. i dont rly wanna say much about the movie, just go watch it for yourself. (i watched the sub for this)
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD - this one is kind of an investment. clocking in at around 64 episodes, its pretty daunting, especially for someone just getting into anime. however, i promise you, it is most definitely worth its time. an expansive, yet intimate story, fma:b is the perfect blend of action/adventure and all the warm & fuzzy shit that makes u wanna listen to blonde while laying on ur bed. it also has significantly more “anime” tropes than the first two i’ve mentioned, but it’s not to the point where it is overpowering or annoying, which can be the case for some recent shows dropping these days. fma:b is set in a world where alchemy is the main form of science. it’s basically magic, though. the way the uncover the story is really interesting and the payoff is really great. this one is a keeper, and a great gateway drug to “real” anime.
also, i would just watch a handful of ghibli movies. princess mononoke, castle in the sky, kiki’s delivery service, spirited away, nausica valley of the wind, howl’s moving castle
---------
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (this is the stuff you want to start watching once u finish the essentials. some of them might be a bit lower quality than the essentials, but MOST of them are AS good, or if not better than some of the essentials. the only reason i have them in here is because they usually are more enjoyable after getting ur feet kinda wet in the anime world first.)
JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE - i don’t even know where to start with jojo. just do yourself a favor and watch it. part 5 never.
MOB PSYCHO 100 - this one is fire too. made by the same artist as one punch man, this anime is short and sweet. art style is hella dope
GARDEN OF WORDS (KOTONOHA NO NIWA) - same studio who made kimi no na wa. the animation is suuuuuuuper fucking sexy. it’s classified as a “movie”, but its only like 40 something minutes long. its a pretty relaxing watch, although i will admit its more shine than substance, at least in terms of story.
NEON GENESIS EVANGELION (AND THE END OF EVANGELION, MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE EOE RIGHT AFTER THE SHOW) - nge is another anime for the CULTURE. this show shaped many character archetypes still seen today, and is highly praised for its topics and dark, psychological tone, mostly seen in the second half of the show, which hits the fucking rails. ive also noticed this show is quite polarizing, but you’ll find more people in the love camp than cynical camp on this one. also, do not watch this unless ur depressed or want to be depressed, bc it will fuck u up
BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA (MY HERO ACADEMY) - this is a rather recent show (actually, probably the most recent one on this list), and despite the large amount of garbage being put out these days, this one is something really special. think anime sky high. or anime harry potter for kids w superpowers. that’s pretty much all you need to know. there’s two seasons and they are currently making a 3rd one i believe. this anime gets me hella fucking hyped, so if u like fights, check this one out. fighting isnt a main aspect of the show, but when they do it, they fucking execute it really well.
PARASYTE - i havent seen this one in a while, but i remember really enjoying it. its about these parasites than land on earth, one of which infects the main character, who manages to isolate it to his right hand. he then goes on a bloody rampage.  its also kinda creepy but the payoff is pretty decent iirc
THE TATAMI GALAXY - i watched this one a couple months ago. its 11 episodes long, but it packs in a lot of content, mainly due to the supersonic dialogue. seriously, you’ll need to get used to how fast everyone talks. once u do though, it’s decently manageable. tatami galaxy is about a 3rd yr college student who wonders what his life would’ve been like if he joined x y or z club during freshman year. its a great coming of age story, and also really fucking quirky. the art style is unique and really dope. soundtrack is fire too.
STEINS;GATE - this is a TIME TRAVEL ANIME. and its a giant mindfuck. iirc, it was based off of a visual novel. the main character is hit or miss in terms of tolerability. main girl is a super queen. some people i’ve talked to dropped this show before getting to the second half, which is kinda understandable, but i promise you, keep sticking with this anime. once shit hits the fan, its really hard to put this one down.
YOUR LIE IN APRIL (SHIGATSU WA KIMI NO USO) - your lie in april i watched pretty early on in my “anime career”. its inspirational and heartbreaking. watch if it u want something different from action/adventure. obviously, the music in this show is really on point. i dont know much about classical, but they were playing some slaps
HAIKYUU - SPORTS!!!!! haikyuu is about a high school volleyball team trying to get to nationals. seems like a simple story, but the games get hella fucking hype and all the characters are super likeable in their own way. watch this one if u want some mega bromance vibes
well, that’s all i have to offer. i hope you got at least a decent idea of where you want to start. if you have any other questions/recommendation requests, pls feel free to msg me
