An interesting little fun thing with team 7 is that you assume that Sakura's gonna, like, woobify and simplify Sasuke by putting him on a pedastal, cause her goal is centered around him and shes a 12 y/o fangirl so like of course her understanding of him is skewed cause she doesnt see him as a person, just an object of affection, right? She's can't get Sasuke, can't imprint on and/or traumabond with him like Naruto and Kakashi do. They don't see him with rose tinted glasses, because they've lived through their own Horrors and empathize with Sasuke's experience.
......right?
WRONG lmao!! They have too many ghosts!! Naruto's single-minded codependent ass won't get out of his own way long enough to see Sasuke for who he actually is, only able to empathize with the parts of his trauma Naruto relates to and not really capable of understanding him outside of the context of himself (because Sasuke is. His other half). And Kakashi is far too jaded to be fair to him!! He can't decide if Sasuke is gonna end up as a mini-him or a mini-Obito or maybe a mini-Itachi, but either way he ALSO is too traumatized to see Sasuke AS SASUKE.
meanehile SAKURA'S autistic ass may have dogshit empathy, but you know what she does have? A special interest in sasuke. Nothing better to do then give herself a degree in Uchihaisms. She can write character studies about him. she can read his soul. Whenever she says something about him she is right. Every fucking time! She is RIGHT!!!!
'sasuke would NOT compliment me this directly or explicitly express worry unprompted, especially if it gets in the way of his goals' correct.
'Sasuke shouldn't hide that curse on his neck its not healthy BUT if I tell anyone about it he'll never trust me again, which might be even more dangerous for him then the curse mark. Like he can probably handle the curse mark but no one else can stop him from ripping peoples arms off.' correct.
Speaking of! 'Sasuke would not hurt me even when he seems to be...possessed? whatever the only way to knock him out of it is to present myself as Alive and thus something to be protected rather then something to be avenged, because he gets really stuck in his own head about revenge' CORRECT
'hey so um. like. Sasuke's gonna leave Konoha. I'm not sure anything can stop him at this point and honestly I'm kinda starting to doubt anything should, so the only thing I could possibly do to help him at this point is ALSO defect.' CORRECT!!!!

the thing about megumi is that. he's just a kid. he's been pretending to be an adult since he was five and he's fooled a lot of people. he drinks black coffee, he reads nonfiction books, he doesn't get involved with the others' antics, he pretends he doesn't care. he emulates the adults he's known - detaches himself like his father, places himself in the background like his step-mother, takes on the responsibility of protection like gojo - but he's not an adult. he's fifteen. he's scared, and he's miserable, and he keeps losing everyone he's cared about. tsumiki was cursed, itadori was sentenced to death, gojo was sealed, tsumiki was possessed, and of course everything inside of him shattered. he's been masquerading as someone years older than he is for his entire life, until he snapped in half, because he is a child. and he craves love just as much as anyone else, even if he's been made to believe he should be stronger than that. he's fifteen years old. he should be doing algebra homework and standing in tsumiki's bedroom doorway just to be an annoying little sibling and fighting with gojo over stupid things like curfew times or wanting a pet and instead, he threw himself headfirst into a sorcerer death match and lost everything including himself and he was using all the energy he had left in a last-ditch effort to protect his friends because he loves them and he loves and he loves and he loves and sukuna knew he could take advantage of that because if you look at megumi beneath the surface for even a moment, it's so obvious that he's just a kid who loves too much for his own good. he tries to hide it because he knows it will only hurt in the end, but he's fifteen and he never figured out how to truly erase his ability to care for others and when he's broken down to his bare essentials, when everything is gone but the shattered remains of his soul, what remains is a fifteen year old kid who just wants to be loved

SORRY for nattravis posting but. i'm giffing and i just realized coach martinez is still alive on the tree branch and by trying to save his father travis cements his fate. he breaks the tree branch and his dad freefalls to the ground. travis with a father who isn't always good to him who dies in a way he wouldn't have if travis didn't put it in motion (except it was in motion before he got there). obviously nat is going to be obsessed with him. like. yeah that makes perfect sense

Hey, so it turns out that not only did James and Lucretia Garfield finally fall in love with each other after years of marriage, but we have proof of it in one of the sweetest love letters I've ever read.
*
Willard's, Nov 24, 1867
My Precious Darling,
It is nearly ten o'clock Sunday night, and I will not lie down to sleep till I have told you again that I love you. Surely, "love is the fulfilling of the law," and the law of our love is liberty. We no longer love because we ought to, but because we do--the Tyranny of our love is sweet. We waited long for his coming, but he has come to stay. I hope wish, my dear love, that God would let us die together when we die, that neither of us might be left in the empty world for a single hour. It would be unkind of me, to tell you, if I could, how lonely and lost I am without you. Part of the machinery of my life seems to be gone, and I wander around unconsciously as if in search of it, that I may set nature at work again.
Your precious words of the 21st came to me this morning--and fell down into my heart like benedictions. Did you know how unutterably sweet it is to be praised by you? The words you wrote have lifted me and made me proud and happy all day. How sweet the privilege I have had, this summer! The alchemist sought to transmute other substances into gold--I have done far better. I have been able to transmute gold into esthetic joys, intellectual growth, heart life--and better than all--have been permitted to see it transformed into sweet and beautiful decorations of the noblest and truest woman I ever saw--and she as glad to be mine as I to be hers. This surpasses alchemy. It is divine. It is a new proof of the truth that "God is love."
Well Darling, I have done nothing of worth except to hunt houses and read. I am satisfied that the price of the house I wrote you of is too great and we ought not to pay it. I hope I can do better. I am thinking of buying a house on time and hope to sell it again when we are done with it. If we had done so, four years ago, we should have owned it now. I am anxious to receive your answer to my letter of Thursday--It may help me to a decision.
[political paragraph cut for irrelevance]
Dear Love, do write me very often. Kiss the sweet [???] and tell them Papa loves them all.
Ever Your ownest own James

He never thought of himself as anything special.
Anyone could look at the silver-haired, golden-eyed general and see just how divine he is. The way he carries himself, the way he speaks, the way he thinks -- his smile, his beauty, his skill, his strength, his spirit; all these things truly make him seem like the epitome of the divine. To the people of the Xianzhou, who live in perpetual warfare, is it so hard to see why General Jing Yuan is held in such esteem, almost god-like even, when his wisdom has carried him and the Luofu forward for centuries while his peers fell in but a fraction of his reign?
What a surprise it would be for them to know that he never saw himself as anything unique at all -- still doesn't, in fact.
But when your parents, brilliant in their own right, are diligent scholars while you'd rather climb trees or hide a book on warfare between the pages of your reading assignments or roughhouse with a makeshift sword rather than do your studies, how is your own brilliance defined?
...The answer is it isn't.
Of course, Jing Yuan never found anything wrong with that, it simply was as it was. He was just an ordinary boy with two ordinary parents who had ordinary jobs in the Realm-Keeping Commission -- all very important work, of course, but... ordinary.
And horribly, horribly boring.
What he wanted to do was explore. Travel the worlds and see what the universe had to offer. Maybe save a person or two. Jing Yuan will fully admit now that his desires were an escape from the shackles of responsibility, and thus became his path to becoming a Cloud Knight. He never pursued that path for honor or glory.
And so Jing Yuan, an ordinary boy, joined the Cloud Knights -- was lucky enough to attract the attention of the Swordmaster of the Luofu, lucky enough to find that he did actually quite enjoy fighting; and, eventually, became very good at it, too.
And how lucky was he to be invited by his master to join her ranks? How lucky was he to meet such incredible, talented people, to be able to soar fearlessly through the air on a starskiff driven so swiftly it seemed weightless? How lucky was he to grow close to the High Elder of the Vidyadhara himself and the most brilliant blacksmith he'd ever know, both awe-strikingly clever and beautiful? How lucky was he?
And Jing Yuan, this ordinary young man barely past the dawn of youth, who would laugh and insist that he's good at nothing but fighting and hardly even that, this boy who did not dream of greatness, did not see how the sunlight caught his hair and turned it to white fire. He did not see the lightning in his eyes.
He did not see the awe-struck eyes trained on him until he was the only one left.
He did not choose divinity. He did not wish for it. But divinity chose him, and the proof of it is in his survival where all others have fallen.

ken is the type of boyfriend to want to surprise me with my favorite pastry (donuts) to cheer me up but doesn't know which one i'd want the most so he just gets all of them. comes home with 15 dozen boxes. we end up having to share them with the entirety of barbieland or else they'll go bad (hey, if plastic milk can expire, so can plastic donuts)!
driver brings home apple pie bc he assumes it's my favorite. it's not. well, apple is my favorite pie flavor, but pie itself is not my favorite pastry.
...but i would never tell him that, bc i love our routine of eating apple pie together at our favorite diner at two in the morning and i'd be sad if that ever stopped. sure, we could get donuts at 2am, but it wouldn't be the same. the fact that he'd go out of his way to drive us to a diner and sit us down and drape his jacket over my shoulders while sharing a slice of pie with me -- i dunno. it's nice.

☆ Nathaniel Wilson ☆
I Really Like Nathaniel because the guy embodies Hope and Positivity without forcing it down the gullets of everyone around him.
He looks like he'd be a pleasant individual to actually be around at 7 am. Even before his coffee. [ Sera should be too, she doesn't seem like an unbearable person to be around in La Matinée ( the Morning ) . But still, she is alot grumpier than her other half. ]
With that said. Insert Happy music here. Nujabes or Smth.
Submitted by @mettamorphoses!
Love the way you drew Nate here! such a clean style and serious face :> He's my favorite little quadfocal guy... friendly, polite, and a good conversationalist! You're absolutely right, he's one of the easiest people to get along with. It's almost like he knows exactly what to say to people.
Sera isn't grumpy so much as she is disinterested and dismissive. She heads to work without bothering to make small talk besides a basic "Hello." if she passes you by. Not the worst outcome, really, if silence doesn't bother you.

'Parturition' is so brave for being the yaoi ship trope episode of Voyager. "Neelix and Tom Paris had a physical.....fight." Also continuing Tom's beautiful habit of loving both infidelity and child abandonment with all his heart.
Also, wonderful out of context quote: "I had no right to push that pasta in your lap."
