best friends who go to a wedding only to realise they're in love? sounds like jo. this story fell out of me upon seeing a moodboard by /wildemaven and god i love them. i think about them so often and it makes me want to write him like this again. just fun, easy. it helped me find my nerve to tackle him again after a break when LNT finished, so it was nice to hang with him again.

who'd have thought this would make this list? not me. but it has, and god. i really tested myself with this one. creating him was days of churning over interviews of other actors, of finding who he is in the centre of fucking nothing. and then pouring my heart into it for lovely @pedgito and god am i grateful that's the moodboard i was given. i was terrified (ali will attest) but now i am so proud of it. i love it, and him. I'm almost terrified now to see the movie and watch this version die and wilt hahaha.

not a one shot, but a collection, because i spent longer trying to choose than i did dwelling on choosing the rest and writing this post. i never thought id step back into star wars, but i'm so glad i did. din and his girl, seeing different planets together, letting us see the world through her eyes. there's a lot of my writing I'm proud of, but I'm most proud of the lines in this. because i get to describe in a way where i don't feel its redundant. because we're seeing it at the same time as she is. i also have so much fun each time i get to write him, and that, makes me happy.

the whole damn roadhouse knows - oh my god,, this fic is the Peak of 2013/2014 destiel fics with the roadhouse gang and everyone just working together.  it’s got a bet, shenanigans, and overall is a really good time i recommend it So Hard it hurts.  very surprised its not more popular honestly.  66k and 18 chapters

4 times they nearly kissed, 1 time they nearly didn't - soft au where cas moves to lawrence and dean owns a cafe.  jack and claire are cas’s twins and its just a fluffy fic where dean and cas go on dates a bunch :) honestly So Soft and its kinda a magic au where cas and the kids are just witches and honestly what more could u want there??  10k and 6 chapters

my three dads - a season 13 sort of rewrite picking up after 13x03.  so much here!  widower arc feels, claire being a larger part of the narrative, making jack and dean’s relationship make more sense, and dean finding a daughter he had 16 years ago on some random hunt with claire!  i’m a sucker for kid fic so i love this one and it feels really organic for the kind of fic it is,, total recommend.  68k and 20 chapters

the six hearts of dean winchester - holy shit this one is my everything.  it’s based on the promo for 14x10 and basically explores sam and cas going to find six shards of dean’s heart that he’s hiding so they can get rid of michael and save dean.  god this one is so good i don’t want to spoil it but it’s a fast read and u will love it!  or money back guaranteed.   9k oneshot

caught somewhere in time - ok so ik i said i don’t love fics where it’s setting deancas in the past... but this is a canonverse fic where they get sent into the past accidentally and then stay there for a while building a life while they realize they aren’t coming back to reality any time soon.  so so good i love it a lot (also no war! wow can you believe that!)  29k and 7 chapters

literally anything by GatesKeeper - iykyk this writer is chefs kiss so good!!  i love some good sam knows and supportive sam and oblivious deancas.. amongst everything else they write.  20 total works (and all of them are destiel)

grace and pirouette - both are finale fix its ive already read at least three times and i just. misha was right when he said fic writers could do it better !!!!! grace is a script based fic that’s just. so much better than the finale,, and pirouette is a claire saves the day type finale fix it that we also deserved!  5k and 6k oneshots, respectively

UGH anon i can't believe i didn't answer this very important question before, and esp bc i think maybe you were hoping for a full fic and not just. this random assortment of headcanons, but, obviously i have thots:

one of my fav John & Chas comics canon scene is when they goof on some rando at a bar bc he looks like a character from spinal tap, from which i infer: they probably watched it together, or else must've discussed it (w nostalgia given their own ~touring days) enough that john knows chas'll get the reference. HENCE i have inferred that they have at least somewhat similar tastes in pop culture and i assume that holds true across canons.

comics!john is also someone who canonically referenced dr who, star trek, and star wars, ergo, a BIT of a (sci-fi) nerd, which you wouldn't expect looking at him HOWEVER. chas knows 👀 and probably teases him about. not that chas is like. COOL but i see him as having idk more basic tastes. Airport fiction, etc. Stuff he can consume on his (minimal) downtime as a cabbie/dad/chauffeur/bodyguard/personal chef.

BUT anyway, obviously, i think they watch enough movies & TV together (or separately, but have similar enough tastes) that they have the same reference bank so in show canon i assume it’s like, john makes a lot of random snarky asides, chas laughs at it, and zed has no idea what they’re laughing about and after the first few times she asks, decides she really doesn’t want to. 

additionally, show canon is, when john is in town, they go to bars & music shows together (or i guess at least bars where live music is played? but either way john keeps him out ALL NIGHT and renee obviously hates it).

I think John maybe sometimes forgets that Chas isn't 100% aligned w him on stuff? I just recall TV john having that rambly convo w the bartender at the end of the [aired] pilot where hes talking about the sex pistols vs the ramones & then chas shows up [looking like an absolute DILF in his three layers of clothing in ATLANTA of all places] and im not sure if this actually happened but i can just picture john like, trying to rope chas into that discussion & chas being like, 🙄. 

Another john/chas friendship is just based on its longevity. chas has obvs known him a long time & remembers john in his "cutting up his t shirts & safety pining them back together " baby punk disaster stage, and/or his "frontman in a truly terrible band" thing, so even when john is being all broody (esp when john is being all broody) and/or the worst, chas can't completely divorce that from skinny, messy, but in some ways probably happier or at least less traumatized teenaged/early 20s y/o john.

Relatedly, comics!chas has nothing but disdain for Mucous Membrane, despite being their roadie. (i’m assuming he took the job bc he thought it would get him girls tbh.) And he's not afraid to mention it to john, even when john HAS not asked. Just full on roasts him about it, and john takes it so personally! A DELIGHT. any area where chas has a SLIGHT upper hand on john & relentlessly exploits it really just balances them and thus i’m always a fan.

theres a bit in show canon (I'm p sure it was in the New Orleans ep?) where john, chas, & zed are in the car & have to go talk to the police about something, and john starts throwing out different backstories they can use w the implication that they're the ones he & chas have used in the past, and chas is just like nodding along, and idk it's a small moment but it speaks to the fact that post-fire & pre-zed, john & chas DID engage in at least some spooky shit shenanigans, just the two of them. or maybe their ~bits go back to the MM days, or when they were even younger & john was out there just conning people out of things? Either way, EXCELLENT friendship history vibes.

(I actually just had kind of a sad thought which is, the fun hanging out & drinking in dive bars while listening to local bands stuff was a pre-fire/arthurian spell thing, bc after that chas may have mostly been hanging out w john bc they were doing ~spooky shit stuff)

also i’ve said it before but show!john & chas GO GROCERY SHOPPING TOGETHER IN THE PILOT and we DON’T get to see it and it’s NEVER referenced again and this is BIPHOBIA even more so than the fact the camera drifts when john kisses him in the bar

(Most of these answers will deal with my Mando fics, so do not worry, but I gotta consider all fics for the multi-chap questions)

Two-shot: I thought about this long and hard because I really only consider myself a one-shot writer or a writer who starts multi-chaptered fics but never finishes them, but then I remembered I do have a two-shot! Comfort is weird because I wanted the two chapters to more seamlessly connect as one chapter, but it wasn’t happening so I separated it into two chapters

Most popular multichapter: If we’re going by kudos, And Up She Rises but guys??? Guys??? By hits, it’s And A Bottle of Scotch that absolutely knocks it out of the park. That just blows my mind.

Actual worst part of writing: That part of the fic writing where I’m convinced everything I’m writing is shit or I think I’m the worst writer alive. I’m at that point with both my dincobb h/c fics and Im suffering lol. Also editing.

How you choose your titles: Summarizing my fic into 1 word or a short phrase, (ie Compromising Positions, In Other Hands, etc). I’ve done song lyrics before but it always looks weird on my fics even though I love it on other people’s fics? It’s like when you see a shirt on a mannequin but when you try it on your body it looks wrong? That’s my experience with “fic titles as all lowercase song lyrics” or “mostly song lyrics (with a lil in parentheses).” 

Do you outline: Always, except in two scenarios. One, it’s under 1k. Two... its the “Luke is haunted by the darksaber” fic bc I just wrote that until I came to a stop. It was the weirdest experience ever because I’ve never, for any other fandom, done that. I only outlined it after the fact when I was editing to make sure it stayed consistent.

Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: Guys my dinluke role-swap AU has the most kickass first line and I love the way I’ve characterized Mando!Luke and Jedi!Din. But it requires me to rewrite so much of Star Wars canon and then naturally reveal the changes to the audience, it’s nigh impossible to write (plus I dont... really have a plot lmao). I’m also crossing all my fingers that my dincobb big bang longfic doesnt fall into this category 

Callouts @ me: Stop comparing your fics to others people’s fics!! Stop comparing the success of one of your fics to another one of your fics!! Just enjoy that people like your fics!! Just read fics you want to read!

Best writing traits: Usually I’d say dialogue (but the structure of Mando eps makes that a lil harder), so instead I’m gonna say emotion. I think I’m getting way better at writing emotion and it definitely shows in actually writing romance in my Mando fics instead of just multiple pre-relationship fics

Spicy tangential opinion: I love reading about trans characters having sex but I also get uncomfy when I see that the majority of fics tagged with “trans character X” are pwp but I ALSO hate that that uncomfortableness is preventing me from spreading my wings and trying to write smut. Just... balance, y’all

He expects it to play a tune and he might even dare to expect the barely-functioning little ballerina to dance along to the soft chimes, but that's it, really.The last thing he expects is for the little ballerina to take human form at night and throw his life out of balance with radiant smiles, soft giggles, and a heart-wrenching story.

RULES: ANSWER MY ELEVEN QUESTIONS THEN TAG ELEVEN PEOPLE AND COME UP WITH ELEVEN QUESTIONS FOR THEM.

1.Who do you think apologies first? Ben or Rey?

I see it as Rey being the first to voice it. But I think Ben’s actions will say it first. Like he’ll do something that shows Rey he regrets how things went. But Rey is more comfortable voicing her emotions so I think she’ll say it out loud first. 

2. Write a short story paragraph of what you think Ben and Rey’s first kiss will actually be like? 

Oh snap... Shit. Let’s pretend they just finished a super intense fight scene but I’m not gonna write that part. So just imagine them standing in the middle of a battlefield after the enemy is destroyed. 

Ben’s warm amber eyes stared at her, rooting her to the spot. The heat in his gaze filled her veins with fire. The last time she’d seen him with such an intense look, she’d ran, searching for a distraction. But there was nothing here to distract her, no rebels facing impeding doom to save her from that look or the man behind it. 

“Ben, I-” Rey fumbled for a coherent thought or some sort of an excuse, anything to buy her time.

It only took two long strides for him to close the distance, to stand before her like a black tower. His lips parted as his eyes searched hers. Perhaps he was looking for an excuse as well, something, anything to deny the energy sizzling between them. 

“Rey,” his voice was just a breath escaping through his full lips, drawing her attention to them and then back to his molting eyes. His breath brushed against her skin like a warm caress, teasing and tempting her. 

Reaching out, Rey placed one hand on his chest, hesitant at first. When he didn’t pull back, she spread her fingers wider, feeling the muscles that tensed at her touched. His chest rose and fell in a steady pace as if he weren’t affected by the tension between their bodies. The hammering of his heart told a different story. 

With her other hand, Rey reached out to trace his scar; the wound she’d inflicted long since healed but the memory behind it still very present, at least for her. 

Perhaps it was the adrenaline coursing through her veins or perhaps a moment of seer insanity. Rey didn’t know, didn’t care. She stretched up on her tiptoes and pulled his face down until their lips met. 

It was brief but soft. Gentle yet scorching. As she stepped back down, heat flushed her cheeks and she looked away, too unsure of her actions to meet Ben’s penetrating eyes. 

“I- I’m sorry. I don’t-”

In a flash, Ben wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her flush against his hard form, cutting off her apology. He crushed his lips over hers, claiming her mouth with his own. 

Mine.

The thought burned through Rey’s mind like a lighting bolt, powerful and blinding, blocking out all other thoughts and leaving her momentarily blinded. 

Mine.

It wasn’t Ben’s voice in her head this time as Rey tangled her fingers in his thick black hair. The thought was all her own. 

Mine.

Both their voices rang through each other’s minds claiming one another mentally as they claimed one another physically. 

Took more than a paragraph but I tried. Lol. That last line is a bit meh but I didn’t know how to wrap it up. 

3. What other pairings do you love?

Currently? None like Reylo. Reylo has taken control of my life. But I also love Jamie and Claire from Outlander (both the books and the TV show) and Mac and Barrons from the Fever series (I highly HIGHLY recommend these books)

4. Do you think Rey and Kylo are both virgins? (lol i do) What do you actually think the first time will be like?

I honestly do think they’re both virgins which is a bit refreshing. I think they’re first time will be... soft? I guess is the word. Soft but passionate. I don’t think it’s something either of them will rush into. While I think they’ll make out hot and heavy, I think the first time they have sex, they’ll both be like “are you sure” and “is this okay” but once they get past that first bit of awkwardness, the passion will kick in. 

5. When did you fall in love with Reylo?

Before TFA to be honest. I wasn’t much into SW before Reylo. I used to be on Tumblr for the ship Amorra (Amon x Korra from The Legend of Korra) a ship that has lots of similar traits as Amorra. So fellow Amorrians kept telling me I needed to watch TFA because I would ship Reylo. Since I wasn’t super into SW, I didn’t get around to seeing TFA for awhile but I did enjoy Reylo fanart and gifsets and such. Then once I finally saw TFA I got into reading fics and into slowly took over my life.

6. Imagine you were in Rey’s position in the Force Awakens during the interrogation scene? How do you think you would have reacted to Kylo threatening you and demanding Luke?

Pretending like I don’t have to keep it rated PG-13, I would have cussed him out and threatened him lol

7. An AU where Ben and Rey meet every time by reincarnation or whatever. Where are they?

Uhhhhhhh. Hm. I’m just gonna go with a biker bar since I’m writing an AU biker fic right now

8. What do you think it would be like in episode 9 if Luke had lived ?

Oh damn. I’ve never thought of this. I think Luke would probably have “retired” I mean he basically faced his past and learned to forgive himself for his mistake. But I think he would have told Leia the truth about what had happened that night. And then once Ben and Rey got together and Ben sees Luke again, I think Ben would forgive him because Ben’s dealt with/learned from his past too. 

9. Do you agree that Hux might be the biggest bad guy in 9?

Not biggest. But I think he’ll be one of the biggest. I think the biggest will be Kylo/Ben overcoming his fear/learning to forgive himself. I think 9 will focus more on finding balance than destroying the dark. But I think Hux is gonna get in the way of Ben/Rey finding the balance so they’ll have to face him as a “big bad”

10. What do you think Ben and Rey’s first meeting in 9 will be like after everything that’s happened?

I honestly think it’ll happen during Leia’s funeral. So instead of them yelling or arguing, I think they’ll find comfort in each other. And then later on they’ll have to deal with everything that happened between them. But I think Leia’s funeral will kind force them to put all that crap to the side for a moment. But because it brings them together, it’s also going to force them to deal with the crap (maybe not right away) instead of trying to ignore it. If that makes sense. 

11. What do you head cannon Reylo baby to look like? Boy or girl?

I honestly haven’t really thought about this. But genetically speaking, they’ll probably have twins since twins skip a generation. I think a boy and a girl. The girl would have Ben’s hair that he secretly loves braiding all the time. The boy would look like Rey but with Ben’s ears.
