I don't know, it just feels like a privilege to be able to see the way we love and the way we love. I think my point in making this is twofold:

My therapist asked me Tuesday if I thought part of why I keep debating whether to stay with my boyfriend or not (for those who missed it I broke up with him in March and then got back together a week later because I hadn’t actually given him a chance to respond to or change to the things I was unhappy about) was because I struggle with my making decisions in general.

And wow did that hit me like a ton of bricks. Now I’m no chidi from the hood place, but like I do agonize over a lot of decisions. (See my recent flight angst and every meaningless poll I’ve made here.) and it sounds weird but it was deeply relieving. It’s nice to know where a lot of the angst comes from. It also explains in part why the idea of breaking up with him feels like it would be a relief, because then the decision would be over and I wouldn’t have to make it anymore (in addition to the schedule relief) whereas staying together is more ongoing decision so the decision angst continues.

And not that that means we won’t break up still in the future, there’s a reason for the doubts after all but it’s nice to identify the source of some of the comfort and that it’s an okay source. Removes some of the meta worry (being worried about the angst, don’t have to worry about being stressed about the decision if you know you’re just stressed because decisions are hard)

She also brought up how we can’t ever be 100% sure of anything and that it’s okay to have things not be perfect.

So know I have made myself a little decision making spreadsheet to help me track how I feel about my boyfriend and whether or not I want to keep dating him. The hope being to stop the doom spiral from anytime something slightly upsets me and deciding that must mean he’s the worst for me and I need to break up with him and die alone. Because that’s not helpful or representative really of whether he’s a good fit for me or not.

And maybe it’s slightly neurotic to rank how feel about interactions with my bf, but I love me some data. And laying things out clearly to really see patterns. And see what’s actually happen verses getting distracted by doom spiraling (or conversely letting one good moment (or good sex and all those feel good hormones) ) over shadow the rest

what would your ocs be as pokemon? or if you've already done that what would they be as bugsnax??

Oh I have never been asked this publicly before (for I have not been asked... anything publicly before this week LOL) but I don't know if you're prepared for how much I have thought about my ocs as pokemon or how much effort I am currently putting in to... Well. You'll see.

So. I have Thoughts.

Here are my thoughts (names quickly added for this to be understandable by anyone but me. But I've had this image made for quite some time)

(I love that regular wingull appears on here twice. It was kind of the only choice for both of them LOL.)

So this is like.. The whole cast of MYMK lmao. Even down to background characters. These are like... PMD style pokemon assignments. I tried to balance "literally looks like them" with "has the right vibes, thematically". So you can see a couple thematic pairs of pokemon like the cherrims, meowstics and such. Then other fun picks like Charizard for Hainu, since he's a, well, hypebeast more than he is a person. Then, Markus and MacGuffin get Silvally and Type: Null for (wink) reasons.... And Miao is Marowak because don't even worry about it. Lupus is Lycanroc-Dusk because funny doggy shounen protagonist :)

Also there are ABSOLUTELY pokemon that fit Tabitha better than Persian does but I've been saying hes one of those since 2015 and I'm attatched to it now.....

The reason I went ahead and planned these out and finalised these recently though.... Is because I also assigned them all ideal ribbons/marks/pokeballs and am going to hunt them all! Right now I'm prioritising getting ones where the ribbons/balls necessitate getting them from gens 4-7, but they're all nearly done and are sitting in ultramoon while I grab the royal master ribbon for a few!

(Obviously I've named pokemon after OCs before but these will be The Definitive Guys... Until next gen inevitably introduces the perfect guy for someone lol. C'est la vie!)

I've got a couple more already in swsh and scvi (recently I caught Lazulite in swsh! Go Raid RNG!) but this is the big first step. As for how many other steps there are....

Anyway! Most of the main characters have fully assigned "if they were a pokemon trainer" Rosters too with some lore. (Chrome does contests, All of Tabitha's pokemon have been gifted to him, Lupus has insane shiny luck, Ali Will Summon Giratina....)

Also! The Alighieri triplets map perfectly onto the shiny meowths! They were the first three I went out of my way to hunt back when I saw shiny G-Meowth and realised!!! Pink Yellow Blue!!! My little guys!!

And lastly the thing you almost certainly weren't asking was "what would your OCs look like if they were fakemon, but I also have that for, you guessed it, Chrome, Tabitha and Ali.

Now... As for bugsnax. I have not played bugsnax but I DO have a resident bugsnax fan... So I asked him out of curiosity and they Extremely Delivered. So, Courtesy of @thebrightesteyes....

Anyway I've been trying to rotate a PMD AU in my brain for some time now (purrgatorio lends itself well to it, obviously...) I wonder what I'd make the antagonist...

Also, of note. Ali (and their siblings) does actually have a canon favourite pokemon and opinion on pokemon because they're from a real-world setting. Thing is they are like, not a gamer. So...

Ali likes Dusknoir and Seviper because they saw them on trading cards as a kid and likes Hoopa Unbound because Ari showed them on pokemon go knowing they'd like the design. If they gamed though they'd LOVE Giratina but Hoopa would probably stay top spot.

Ari likes Raichu, Lurantis and Toucannon. (Gamer)

Avi likes Clefairy, Meloetta and Brionne. (The kind of person to seek out fanart and gifsets online to reblog)

and maybe marlene tells herself that ellie’s immunity will eventually save them all, that she has to keep her safe, that she has to keep her alive and away from fucking everything long enough for them to figure out a cure. she doesn’t know or even suspect that it would take killing ellie to get their way—by the time they do figure it out, ellie’s like a daughter to her. she’s watched this kid grow up to hate tuna like anna and laugh like anna and love terrible puns, just like anna. before marlene’s eyes, ellie turns into anna’s mini-me without even knowing it; so what else is she to do but grow to love her too? that’s anna’s baby, anna and marlene’s baby. she loves her more than the world, more than the anything, more than the fireflies. more than a cure

so maybe when marlene finds out what abby’s dad has planned, she makes a different choice. she tells ellie the truth, that she’s sorry, and that she needs to go. ellie (who is blessedly not burdened by survivors guilt from riley and company) wants to live, of course she does. even if she hadn’t, marlene wouldn’t have let her die. she couldn’t

instead, she finds the most trustworthy yet capable and dangerous man she knows: tommy miller. what she hears of him is plenty, but what she knows for sure is this: he’s a great soldier, he’s a good man, and he used to have a neice named sarah. him and ellie already get along, luckily, because he teaches math to the firefly kids a few times a week. she tells him what is planned, and he’s horrified. she tells him how to stop it, so he does (kills a few people along the way, which she covers for. theyre good.)

then at this point, i actually think it’d be fun if joel and tess run into tommy and ellie somewhere random in the woods of wyoming 😭😭😭 maybe when joel and tess break into that old couple’s house from 1x06 and he asks if they’ve heard of a tommy, they actually go “you know what… some guy named tommy was here with a twelve year old not even two hours ago. little one cusses like a sailor. they went that way.”

I never really use it but I know a lot of people use it to track what they've read, or a place to collect their favourite fics for re-reads, or any other way (tbf I have a spreadsheet for all of these actions)

top 3 daichi 'adjusting to life again' routines/rituals

okay I have been thinking about this for so long and I still don't Really have concrete answers but here are my Biggest thoughts at the moment:

extended prayer/meditation. usually he keeps his holy duties to the sunrise hours any anything more is incidental, but I think post-abyss he spends more time than usual in... I mean, yeah, technically worship, but worship for daichi is mostly about finding his footing and making the active choice to give himself over in worship to that divinity. I think turning back to pelor is a comfort both in that a) it's pelor and b) he's choosing it. I think probably, outside his date afternoon/night with zaref, he goes through morning and midday and sunset rituals in a way he hasn't since he was a wee baby acolyte. he hasn't been able to pray in three years; I think he'd find immense comfort in the routine and in really grounding himself in his body as he goes through the motions. training also fits in this category—spending time with his shield, his sword, his body. it's about relearning and remembering the routines he lost or that were corrupted while he was in the abyss

braiding his hair. I'm imagining it like this currently. just something time consuming and precise to help him recenter himself in his body (I imagine him doing it shirtless and watching his reflection in the mirror with all the new scarring and getting used to just like. inhabiting this form. something something spending three years in a body of someone else's making and relearning how to exist as himself again)

I think he'd talk to anticlea! not necessarily something to play out in game, but it's definitely on my to-do list for him. he'd want to talk to the person who resurrected him, especially since it's someone who essentially filled his role in the group while he was out of commission. kinda meta I guess but I do think he'd seek her out, and they'd have tea and talk a lot about stuff. grandma hours etc.

bonus thoughts:

cooking. eating. I don't think he ate in the abyss. he didn't need it + he had no mouth. imagine not eating for three years. my boy is craving some good food.

the tattoo was pretty big. making his body his; marking it in a way he chose to. the reminder of home. I think he could get into tattoos and piercings. it's about the autonomy and the power to make changes to his own form.

he and zaref are taking it slow but. future intimacy. that'll be good. imagine experiencing joy and pleasure after being a tool for destruction and war for three years. get that man an orgasm

literally just sitting and listening to scratch. scratch's chatter being a reminder and a balm to him. he wants to hear everything going through her head; it's good and grounding.

not any time soon, but I do think he'd want to go see the ocean again. eventually. see the changes since the portal closed, know that he can stand there at the edge of the water. I think it might freak him out a little but he'd be okay.

I have a thing for spreadsheets. I can't stop making them for everything. Each of my chapter fics have a spreadsheet with multiple sheets. There usually at least three sheets but some have like 10. I'm fully aware I use them a little obsessively (I cannot do anything without updating/adding onto the spreadsheet) but I can't stop now. Things are so much easier to navigate in writing because all the information and organization I need is in one spot, neatly laid out. Everyone should use spreadsheets in my opinion.
