real question how/why do y'all use the bookmark button on ao3...
I never really use it but I know a lot of people use it to track what they've read, or a place to collect their favourite fics for re-reads, or any other way (tbf I have a spreadsheet for all of these actions)
so if you could all please let me know if/how/why you use the bookmark button maybe it'll give me ideas lol

Disclaimer: none of these answers are official, and may not work for your particular use case. If there is a specific feature that an unofficial app had that you don't know how to replicate on the AO3, let me know in the notes and we might can crowdsource a solution.
A lot of people used the Archive Reader app to access stories on Archive of Our Own, and have been upset that the app is now charging to read longer than an hour a day. AO3 (and its parent organization, the OTW) has made it extremely clear in recent days that this app is unofficial and that there *is* no official app. They encourage people to use the website.
However, there are MANY reasons you might want an app, and in a bunch of those cases, there are ways to do those things without having to provide your login information to a random person running an app. Here is a round-up of solutions to the most common reasons I've seen people give for wanting an app instead of the plain AO3 website.
These solutions are based on the following assumptions:
You know what Archive of Our Own is
You often or primarily access it through a mobile device running iOS or Android
You understand what a browser is
You understand what a browser bookmark is
You understand what a site skin is
Edits:
Edited to clarify that you must be logged in to use custom site skins
Edited to add more tips and tricks from the reblogs
Edited to add new entry about notifications/emails
Edited to add new entry about reading statistics and the tracking thereof
I need a widget on my phone's homescreen, not just a browser bookmark.
You can do this with any website, not just AO3! Instructions here: https://www.howtogeek.com/196087/how-to-add-websites-to-the-home-screen-on-any-smartphone-or-tablet/
I need Dark Mode.
AO3 has a default site skin for Dark Mode, it's just called Reversi. Find it here, or at the bottom of any page on the website. https://archiveofourown.org/skins/929/
If you'd like Dark Mode on your whole browser (and you're on Android), sorrelchestnut has advice here: https://www.tumblr.com/sorrelchestnut/737869282153775104/if-you-want-dark-mode-and-dont-want-to-mess
I need to be able to read stories when I don't have internet.
Every work on the AO3 has a download button, so you can click on that and download the story for offline reading in the ereader app of your choice. More info on how to do that is in the AO3 FAQs: https://archiveofourown.org/faq/downloading-fanworks?language_id=en#accesslater
I need to be able to change the text size of the website itself.
If you have an AO3 account (and you should!!) you can do this with a personalized site skin! There is a simple tutorial here: https://www.tumblr.com/ao3skin/667284237718798336/i-have-a-request-if-you-dont-mind-could-you
I need to be able to change the text size in downloaded stories.
My personal recommendation: Don't download in PDF format. All the other formats you can download in can scale the text size up and down, assuming you open the work in the correct app. For me, I download works in EPUB format and read them on the built-in Books app on my iPhone. I hear good things about Moon Reader on Android as well.
I need to be able to replace Y/N in fics with an actual name.
ElectricAlice has a bookmarklet for that here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/34796935
I need to be able to save specific tags and not have to search them up every time.
If you have an AO3 account (which you definitely should) then you can favorite up to 20 tags which will appear on the landing page. The AO3 FAQ explains how that works: https://archiveofourown.org/faq/tags?language_id=en#favtag
I need to be able to save specific filters and be able to apply them to any tag.
Reisling's beautiful bookmarklet has you covered: https://archiveofourown.org/works/33825019
I need to be able to permanently hide certain tags.
The best option is adding this to your site skin. (Must be logged in.) Instructions here: https://www.tumblr.com/ao3css/719667033634160640/how-to-permanently-filter-out-certain-tags-on-ao3
I also hear things about the AO3 Enhancements extension (just for Android/desktop, sorry iOS folks): https://www.tumblr.com/emotionalsupportrats/686787582579851265/browser-extension-everyone-on-ao3-should-know
I need it to save my place on the page and not reload.
This is really mostly a browser error--Firefox on iOS does this to me A LOT. Your best bet is to download the work and read it in an ereader app. A lot of people also will make an ao3 bookmark and write in the notes section which part they were at, but that assumes you aren't falling asleep while reading. (Which is the main reason I have this issue, lol.) For more info on bookmarks, see the FAQ: https://archiveofourown.org/faq/bookmarks?language_id=en#whatisbookmark
I need it to keep track of which stories I've already read/opened/kudos'd.
If you have an account (which you should) then the "My History" page keeps track of every fic you've ever clicked on. No, it isn't searchable or sortable, but it does exist. For fics you've kudos'd, I have yet to find a solution for iOS. For desktop or Android, you can use this excellent userscript: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/5835-ao3-kudosed-and-seen-history
@the-sleepy-archivist and @inkandarsenic have a solution for iOS here to use userscripts: https://www.tumblr.com/the-sleepy-archivist/737895174683885568/this-is-a-great-guide-one-thing-i-can-help-with and https://www.tumblr.com/inkandarsenic/737827438571192320/the-user-scripts-will-also-work-on-ios-there-are
I need an app because the website's search is terrible.
(I genuinely don't understand this one but I have seen it multiple times so on the list it goes!!) The search bar at the top of the screen is a keyword search. If you'd rather search within a specific field (like title or tag) then you'll want to click on the word "search" at the top of the screen and select Work Search or Tag Search. To search users, use People Search. To search Bookmarks, use Bookmark Search. (If this is you, please tell me what the heck you mean by "search is bad" and how an app helped with this.)
I need to be able to sort stories by date posted/number of bookmarks/alphabetical/etc.
You can do this using the filters sidebar. Pick a tag you want to filter on (like a fandom, character, or relationship) and then click on the "Filters" button. The sidebar will pop out and you can sort and filter on a boggling array of specifics. A good filtering guide: https://www.tumblr.com/saurons-pr-department/718665516093472768/if-there-is-something-you-dont-want-to-see-in
I need to be able to mark stories to read later.
AO3 has this feature built in! If you have an account (which you should) there is a "Mark for Later" option on every work.
Edit: Thispersonishuman reminded me that History and Mark For Later can be disabled, so if you're not seeing the Mark for Later option, check your settings.
I need to be able to listen to stories using text-to-speech.
Microsoft Edge web browser has a built in text to speech function. Supposedly it works on both iOS and Android, but I have not personally tested that. iOS also has a native accessibility feature in settings for text to speech that will work on the Books app, so I assume Android has a similar functionality. A bunch of people in the reblogs have more in-depth Android recommendations here: https://www.tumblr.com/protect-namine/737957194510794752/seconding-voice-aloud-on-android-for-tts-my, https://www.tumblr.com/smallercommand/737884523093704704/i-use-voice-for-tts-on-android-its-got-some, and https://www.tumblr.com/doitninetimes/737869463749263360/for-text-to-speech-on-android-you-can-also-check
I need to have in-app notifications for updates/I can't ever find story updates in among the rest of my emails/checking my email stresses me out.
Set up a separate email address using a free service like gmail, and use that email address JUST for AO3. Then the only emails in that inbox will be your story updates. I use Apple's Mail application for all my inboxes, but it's very easy to use the Gmail app instead, and you could log in to JUST the ao3 email and set it to notify for every email.
(Also as a general PSA: don't use your work, school, or military email as your AO3 email. Just don't.)
I want statistics like how many hours I spent reading, how many words I read, what my most read tags were, stuff like that.
So we've finally hit something that isn't easy and that requires a hell of a lot of manual work. Short version: AO3 does not track this data because they don't want to. (Mostly due to privacy concerns.) The lack of this tracking is a feature, not a bug. You can crunch these numbers yourself, but it will take a hell of a lot more effort, and it's something I personally found is not worth the effort the couple of times I have tried to crunch those numbers. If you are willing to download your history to an actual computer (not a tablet or chromebook) using Calibre, you can get a rough idea of your most popular tags via their tag browser, but it won't play nice with typos synned to a Common Tag (Canonical Tag/filterable tag) like ao3 does. (If anyone has used an app that gave you stats on this, please let me know in reblogs/replies/via ask how that worked because I am very curious.)
I need an app because <other reason>.
The AO3 Unofficial Browser Tools FAQ might cover your use case: https://archiveofourown.org/faq/unofficial-browser-tools?language_id=en If not, give a shout and we'll see what other tumblr users suggest!

hi you wonderful people. thank you so much for all the glorious fic suggestions!!! i camp for weeks/months at a time so i started downloading fics to read, saving them in epub format. to my deepest disappointment I discovered they lack random pages scattered throughout the fic!!! have you ever experienced this and is there a fix? i would appreciate any help you might offer.
thank you to the people offering suggestions and help on my question about downloading epubs- apologies, i cant seem to reply to the thread? fwiw- i am downloading using ao3’s download to my iphone(mobile). it isnt every fic and seems worst with longer ones. redownloading when i get back to connectivity often works. i use epub so i can read offline in books app, what app could i read mobi files in? thank you again for your help!
I don't usually download fics, so I personally don't know. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Steph!! I was wondering if you knew of any really long fics (like 25k or more) that are only one chapter, I travel a lot sometimes and some places don't really have good enough internet for multi chapter fics. So yeah, any really long one chapter fics about John and Sherlock would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hey Nonny!!
LOL OKAY FUNNY STORY. I almost replied to this with “oof I’ll have to read EVERYTHING so I’m sorry.... and then... I remembered.......
I put chapter counts on everything 🙃😐
I’m not the brightest crayon in the box. 🖍
Anyway, so yes, I can definitely rec you some fics! BUT I should also offer you two suggestions you can totally do to read ANY fic!
On Ao3, you can click on the “Entire Work” button to load ALL chapters of a fic (it’s the very first button along the top) and in turn you can then just read it all there!
And the very last button along the top, you can Download copies of the fic to your phone or computer with eBook file types (AZw3 for Kindle, ePub for iPhone’s Books app, and MOBI is for other mobile devices and e-readers), the HTML if you want to read it as-is in a web-browser, or the PDF format which is a universal file format that is supported by everything, even web browsers, so it’s a good one to download if you don’t know what format you need :) If you read on an eReader, though, I can’t recommend enough just downloading the format for your device. You get to keep a copy of the fic AND the eReader keeps it nicely formatted. It’s a BRILLIANT, BEAUTIFUL feature that Ao3 gave us, because I like downloading all my fics and read them later in iBooks. Once you start that, Nonny, you can’t do it any other way. AND at the VERY END of the fics, it links BACK to the original post so you can bookmark, kudos, and comment on it!! <3
So yeah, two options you can do to solve your poopy internet and still read long fics hee hee! <3
ANYWAY EXCUSE FOR A NEW LIST LOL.
ALSO, side note, check out @silentauroriamthereal; a large chunk of her fics are both long AND one chapter, so it’s a good place to go and she’s a brilliant author so I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! <3 Plus a lot of her fics are on this list, so I am sorry hahah.
AND I wanted to make the list a bit longer than I had, so I picked fics over 20K, if that’s alright :) As always, if you wrote a 20k+ single chapter fic, let us know!
SINGLE CHAPTER FICS OVER 20K WORDS
A Life Well-Lived by Kate_Lear (E, 20,121 w., 1 Ch. || Original Male Character, Sherlock Woos John, Jealous Sherlock, Reluctant Bi-John, Past Abuse, Insecure John, Reassuring / Caring Sherlock, Protective Sherlock, Understanding Sherlock) – John got scared off men by an abusive past relationship. Sherlock has to try and woo him while not scaring him off with protective possessive rage.
The White Lotuses by SilentAuror (E, 20,340 w., 1 Ch. || Slow Burn, Domestic, Romance) – One day John realises that he just isn't where he belongs, which is back at Baker Street with Sherlock. So he goes back and Sherlock, in his own way, courts him. Romance.
Out of the Woods by SilentAuror (E, 20,471 w., 1 Ch. || Post S4, Romance, Slow Burn, Flirting, Drunk Sex, Practical Jokes, POV Sherlock, Bottomlock, Possessive John, Pining Sherlock, Frustrated Wanking, Frottage, Hand Jobs, Blow Jobs, First Kiss/Time, Virgin Sherlock, Love Confessions, Soft Sherlock, Dancing, Bum Appreciation, Hanging out with the Yard) – Sherlock is fairly certain that John has taken to flirting with him of late, but can't be entirely certain of it. At least, not until a case takes them into a forest, along with Lestrade's team and something happens that will change everything about their lives...
You're On the Air by prettysailorsoldier (M, 20,616 w., 1 Ch. || Unilock, Matchmaking, Radio, Christmas, Christmas Fluff, First Kiss, Friends to Lovers, Sherlock POV, Pining Sherlock, Flirting, Bisexual John) – The Consulting Detective and The Woman dominate the airwaves of their university radio station, doling out advice on everything from meeting the parents to sexual positions. When their ratings start to dip before the holidays, however, manager Mike thinks it's time for some fresh blood, and who better to fill in the gaps than rugby captain--and notorious flirt--John Watson? Part 1 of 25 Days of Johnlock
whiskies neat by Ellipsical (E, 20,660 w., 15 Ch. || Alternate First Meeting, POV Second Person Sherlock, Slow Burn, One Night Stand, Rimming, Blow Jobs, Anal, Soldier John, Crying, Emotional Lovemaking, Switchlock) – Home and hearth and whiskies neat, or, alternatively, Sherlock Holmes falls in love.
Achieving the Together-Coloured Instant by teahigh (E, 20,776 w., 1 Ch. || Est. Rel, PTSD, Codependency, Fluff & Angst, H/C, Smut, Demisexual Sherlock, Experiments) – John wonders if this is how it’s going to be: A life speaking in code, because they’re both too stupid to figure out how to say, “I love you.”
Winter's Delights by Kate_Lear (E, 21,173 w., 1 Ch. || Holmes Family, Christmas, Fake Relationship, Friends to Lovers, Bed Sharing, Domestics) – Sherlock takes John home for Christmas to meet the extended Holmes family. Part 1 of Winter's Delights
Love Is by SilentAuror (E, 21,508 w., 1 Ch. || Angst, UST / URT, Post HLV, Romance) – At Mrs Hudson’s urging, Sherlock finally decides to tell John how he feels about him. Part 1 of Love Is
echoes through time by chellefic (E, 21,619 w., 1 Ch. || First Time, Romance, ACD & BBC, Epistolary) – Mummy sends a trunk from the Holmes cottage in Sussex to 221B. Its contents alter the way John and Sherlock see themselves and one another.
Ghost Stories by SwissMiss (M, 22,256 w., 1 Ch. || Pining, Holmes Family, Christmas, Friends to Lovers, Slow Burn, Bed Sharing, Fluff, Hurt/Comfort, First Time) – Sherlock's parents think he and John are a couple. They might be onto something.
Sonatina in G Minor by SilentAuror (E, 22,574 w., 1 Ch. || Case Fic, POV Sherlock, Angst, UST, Sherlock’s Violin, Post-S3, Romance) – John has come back to Baker Street, but Sherlock doesn't understand the strange tension between them, even after he begins teaching John to play the violin at John's request.
The Kepler Problem by kinklock (E, 24,270 w., 1 Ch. || Sci-Fi AU, Alien Sherlock, Space Repairman John, Alien Biology, Horny John) – Working in uncharted space exploration was not as exciting as John had hoped, especially when it turned out to be mostly bot maintenance on uninhabited planets. However, the mystery of the repeated, unexplained malfunctions on planet BAK 2212 might turn out to be exactly the kind of adventure he'd been craving.
26 Pieces by Lanning (E, 28,236 w., 1 Ch. || H/C, Torture, First Time, Happy Ending, Schmoop, Past Abuse) – Mycroft gives Sherlock the apparently simple task of solving a puzzle box containing a stolen microchip. It isn't simple.
The Wisteria Tree by SilentAuror (E, 29,773 w., 1 Ch. || Post-S3, Emotional Love Making, Amnesia/Memory Loss, Sherlock Loves John So Much, Sherlock POV, Romance, Angst with Happy Ending, First Times, Hurt/Comfort, Est. Rel., Retirement) – Sherlock wakes up from a month-long coma only to discover that he has no memory of the previous six years to his own shock as well as John's...
Shallow Grave by SilentAuror (E, 31,672 w., 1 Ch. || Romance, Angst, HLV Fix It, Infidelity, Pining Sherlock, First Person POV Sherlock) – Starts as Sherlock's plane is taking off at the end of His Last Vow. When he finds out that Moriarty is alive and that he's being recalled from his mission, Sherlock decides that he should have told John how he felt before he left. So he walks off the plane and kisses him.
The Midas Touch by flawedamythyst (E, 32,231 w., 1 Ch. || PODFIC AVAILABLE || Magical Realism || John has a Magical Cock, Dub Con, Healer John) – John Watson has a medical condition that means everyone he sleeps with is instantly healed of all illness and injury. This causes complications when Sherlock breaks his arm, and even more complications when Sherlock falls in love with him. Yes, this is a story where John has a literal magic healing cock. It's a lot less cracky than you're probably imagining. Warning: Contains complex issues of sexual consent, although not between Sherlock and John.
The Whore of Babylon Was a Perfectly Nice Girl by out_there (E, 32,897 w., 1 Ch. || Past Drug Use, Blowjobs, Toplock, Mentions of Switching, Rough Sex, Background Cases, Sherlock’s Past, Sherlock’s Sexual History, Experienced Sherlock, Past One Night Stands, Fingering, Cuddling, Possessive Sherlock, Paris Holiday, Bed Sharing, Naked Lie-Ins, Bathing Together, Confessions, Worried Sherlock, Laying in Bed All Day, Meddling Mycroft, Naked Lazy Day) – Sherlock walks into a room and takes all the space right out of it. He does the same inside John's head.
Our Enthusiasms Which Cannot Always Be Explained by withoutawish (M, 32,961 w., 1 Ch. || Christmas, Fluff and Angst, H/C, Post-TRF, Case Fic, Mild Gore, Sherlock Whump) – The list that is tacked haphazardly on the refrigerator of 221B reads, ‘Kidney(s), and/or a full cadaver (preferably male, late 30s, under six feet tall), bag of fresh toes, sixteen cow’s eyes (corneas retained), dual exhaust hand –held flame thrower, an unopened first edition copy of Joseph Conrad’s 'Heart of Darkness', and no less than ten abhorrently gruesome murders in the upcoming month.” The one neatly hanging next to it simply reads, “Sex.” One of these lists is not John Watson’s. If John Watson were to put what he really wanted in list form, to live in a land somewhere beyond ‘almosts' now that Sherlock Holmes has indeed returned to him, he would never be able to look his flatmate in the eye ever again.
Bedtime Stories by Liketheriver (M, 34,388 w., 1 Ch. || Emotional H/C, Romance, Angst & Humour, Bed Sharing, John First Person, TRF, John Whump) – John's POV during Season 2 and beyond when Sherlock takes up semi-permanent residence in his bed. A collection of codas and missing scenes wrapped up into one long fic and topped with a bow that takes the story beyond Reichenbach and into happy territory once more. Part 1 of Bedtime Universe
The Yellow Poppies by SilentAuror (E, 34,952 w., 1 Ch. || H/C, Nightmares, HLV Fix-It, PTSD, Trauma, POV Sherlock, Doctor John) – Sherlock is threatened and assaulted in the hospital immediately after having been shot in the heart, first by Mary, then by Magnussen. As he recovers at Baker Street with John and plans the attack on Appledore with Mycroft, he fights to work through the trauma caused by these two visits. Set during His Last Vow.
The Unfinished Letters by SilentAuror (E, 37,391 w., 1 Ch. || Post S3 / S3 / HLV Fix it, Angst with Happy Ending, Romance, Infidelity, Depression, Case Fic, POV Third Person Sherlock, Love Confessions, Pining Sherlock, Letters) – A fire at Baker Street leads John to read something he was never intended to see: a notebook of half-written, unfinished letters Sherlock wrote during his time away...
Set in Stone by SilentAuror (E, 39,309 w., 1 Ch. || Romance, Wedding, Therapy, Fluff and Angst) – Sherlock and John are back from Ravine Valley and planning their wedding. However, as they move past the trial of the human traffickers, Sherlock can't help but wonder if he's imagining that John is becoming a little distant. Surely he isn't getting cold feet about the wedding... Part 2 of The Ravine Valley series
Act IV by SilentAuror (E, 39,707 w., 1 Ch. || First Person POV Sherlock, HLV Fix-It, Infidelity, Angst, Drama) – After Sherlock is shot, John moves back into Baker Street. They spend the autumn together as John tries to make sense of his life and make some important decisions about both Mary and Sherlock. Canon-compliant, excerpts from His Last Vow.
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse by SilentAuror (E, 50,635 w., 1 Ch. || Post-S4/S4 Divergence, Case Fic, For a Case / Reverse Fake-Relationship, Conferences, Marriage Equality, Travelling / New York, Pride, Homophobia, Bottomlock, Marriage Proposal, John POV, Sexuality, Love Confessions, Emotional Love Making, Public Hand Jobs, Blow Jobs, Passionate Kissing, Needy/Clingy Sherlock, Virgin Sherlock, Touching / Hand Holding, Bed Sharing, Little Spoon Sherlock, Intense Orgasms) – John and Sherlock go to New York to attend a conference run by the National Defence of Traditional Marriage Coalition in order to investigate the potential bombing of the annual Manhattan Pride parade. As the conference unfolds, John finds himself repulsed by the toxic ideology being presented, which becomes relevent to his own unacknowledged issues and his friendship with Sherlock...

“I think it’s unfair that we can’t do anything about what our heart want.”

⇢ Pairing: Jungkook x Reader ⇢ Genre: Angst; Fluff; Romance ⇢ Warning(s): Hints of divorce, slight flashbacks to dark past moments, denialism at certain points ⇢ Word Count: 2.04K ⇢ Posted: April 10, 2020 ⇢ A/n: Hey, so I made a fic based off of a show I’ve watched recently called “Love Alarm”. It has since became one of my favorite k-dramas! I’m extremely happy that this idea suddenly came to me. (I deadass don’t think I’ve ever been this hyped to write a fic) I hope you guys enjoy and also there might grammar mistakes which I sincerely apologize for!
Tumblr media
Everything that happened was an accident actually.
Maybe everything would’ve been fine if you only went to class at least a good two minutes later. All of it could’ve been avoided if you weren’t trying to go run an errand for a friend. But then again, who knows?
It was a Monday morning at exactly 7:50 am when you got a text from one of your closest childhood friends, Chaeyoung.
[7:50 am] Chae🍊: bubs,, where r u??
[7:50 am] You: studying in the library
[7:52 am] You: why?
[8:01 am] Chae🍊: do you think you could drop off my paper to ms.eve? i left it in your bag
[8:01 am] You: rn?
[8:03 am] Chae🍊: I mean,,, I would appreciate if you did
[8:03 am] Chae🍊: <3
You sighed and rolled your eyes. Classic Chae move, you thought to yourself. You closed the book you had checked out beforehand as you neatly placed it in your bag before you looked for her paper.
Finally, finding the paper slightly wrinkled, you made your way to the exit. You decided to take the shorter way than the usual way since you wanted to quickly get back to studying again before heading towards your next class.
While walking, you were busying yourself with your phone. Looking at a few unread messages and scrolling on twitter before you heard a group of people discussing a new app.
It wasn’t your intention to eavesdrop but something one of them mentioned was an app that could tell if someone had a crush on anyone in a 10-meter radius.
“Unbelievable,” you scoffed quietly.
You continued walking past them as you decided to search up about it when you were recommended an app, LoveBeep. You chuckled at it. Do people really believe this? From the app details it’s popular at the moment. Are people just that gullible.
You were so engrossed by the app that you didn’t even see the tall figure in front of you. “Sorry! I-” Your sentence stops in the tip of your tongue when you realize who it is. He reaches a hand out for you without even throwing a second glance at you.
It was Jeon Jungkook. You two were never once friends but you shared a few good past memories together as your mom used to babysit him every once in awhile growing up. Now he probably wants nothing to do with you.
You felt your heart race in anxiousness. You quickly grabbed his hand and pulled yourself up before dusting yourself off and heading towards the main reason you were on the floor anyways.
You suddenly stopped though. You turned on your heels before gently tapping him on the shoulders. He looked at you with an annoyed look shadowing over his face.
“I’m sorry.” you sputtered.
All you heard was an annoyed sigh before he faced all the way towards you. He glared down at you. You felt as if you were shrinking, both mentally and physically. You watch him softly chuckling before he turned his gaze back to you.
“I don’t want your dirty ass apology, Y/n. Your mom has already enough,” He spits. “Why are you apologizing for what your mom did? Did you have any part in it? You pity me don’t you.”
You took a few steps back unconsciously before he grabbed your arm and pulled you close. He placed his mouth over your ear. “The fact that you constantly try to fix your mom’s dirty deeds is annoying. She should be able to feel the pain that she’s given others.”
Your eyes water at that for yet, he wasn’t wrong. She did bad things, but that didn’t make her a bad person. You pushed the boy off of you with resentment in your gaze.
It was silent for a moment before your voice broke it. “You know nothing. Nothing at all. You think you got it all figured out don’t you,” you hissed. “Don’t you!” you raved.
You felt the burning tears sliding down your cheeks. “I’ve tried so hard to be generous to you. Do you think I wanted things to be like this? Do you think you’re the only going through things?” you declared. “Go to hell, Jeon!” you shouted before storming off.
Finally, dropping the papers off, you continued on with the rest of your day. Doing your very best to avoid the brown-haired boy at all costs.
Tumblr media
It was a late night, you were bundled under your covers. You looked across the room to see a Chaeyoung peacefully asleep in her own bed. You sighed as you rolled into another position so you could finally go to sleep but it seemed nearly impossible no matter how hard you tried.
You looked over at your phone and you remembered that ridiculous app from earlier. You grabbed it from the nightstand before typing the name into the app store before downloading
Once it was finished downloading, you inspect med the app. The first thing to pop up was a loading screen that displayed tips about the app. Once it finished loading you were introduced to a welcome sign before it faded out into 3 rings with a zero in the middle of them.
It seemed fake. Like an app, a seven-year-old girl would download to try to find her imaginary prince charming. Nevertheless, it still intrigued you. You stayed up the rest of the night trying to find out more about before you crashed around 4 am.
Tumblr media
A few months later, it finally starting to begin spring. The incident with Jeon is far in the back of year head as you sit on the bench and enjoy the warm air and the few blows of cool air surrounding you as you took a considerable bite out of your apple, listening to Chaeyoung as she rants about her latest “life problems”.
You feel content for the first time in a while. You feel in your gut it won’t last for long though. You inhale a deep breath to just take the moment in. You let your eyes flutter closed for a second, reassuring Chaeyoung that you’re still listening to her.
Suddenly you hear your phone beep. You look at the notification to see from LoveBeep, saying exactly, “Someone in a 10-meter radius loves you”. You were just about to put your phone back since it wasn’t like it was the first time it had beeped before but you had felt a certain urge to look up.
You looked up to see Jungkook walking past you with a friend. You were just about to ignore the occurrence when you realize, he was, in fact, within a 10-meter radius when your phone buzzed. You felt your cheeks tingling at that.
No, it wasn’t him. It can’t be him. You convinced yourself. You’re in a school, there are tons of other students within a 10-meter radius of you. He was also walking with a friend meaning it could’ve been him.
The incident could’ve been easily ignored if for the past few passing you had with him within the last month didn’t result in your phone beeping. Every. Single. Time.
You kept trying to ascertain that it was another reason for this but what really got you was when you were in art class early, drawing a few sketches to waste time. You had felt your phone vibrate as you got other notification from LoveBeep. You had heard the door open before you turned your attention over to where the sound was made.
It had fully hit you. Jungkook is the one beeping you.
Tumblr media
You were currently waiting by the exit of the school since Chae was taking way more longer than expected oddly since it was normally you that was always late.
The majority of the students had already left school, only a few people walking around which you assumed was for the after school clubs. You decided on going into the school to go find her when you saw the boy down the hall.
“Jungkook, we need to talk,” you said as you walked up to him. You felt your phone vibrate again in your pocket before you let out a sigh.
“What?” he asked nonchalantly. He looked up at you like you were, in fact, wasting his time.
You tilted your head at him slightly look at him straight in his eyes. You just wanted to get it over with.
How can he act so damn rude yet still have feeling for you? Seems kinda fucked up.
“Listen, I don’t wanna be here just as much as you,” you smirked at him. “I know you like me, Jeon.” All you heard in reply was bluff of air coming through his sealed lips.
He rebuked, “What in the actual fuck are you talking about? You genuinely think I out of all fucking people would like you?”
Annoyed, you pulled out your phone and went directly Into the app.
“Then what is this?”
“An app.”
“What app jackass.”
“LoveBeep obviously.”
“Okay, and what does it say.”
“I’m not reading that you can do it yourself.”
You groaned in annoyance. “Are you just that fucking difficult?” You shot the phone right in his face. “You like me.” You disputed
“You’re gonna believe an app?” he yapped through tight lips. An obvious thick tension in the air had you fidgeting with your school skirt. The reality of it hit you.
This dickhead, the one who is steadily hateful towards you. The one who you once were close with. Yet, he is someone who had a full reason to hate. Not hurting any less though.
You hated him. But you loved him. Not in the cheesy ‘I’m in love with my enemy’ type of way. But the ‘You and me against the world’ type of way. A platonic love that was now one-sided from something which you strictly blame on yourself no matter how many times you tell yourself otherwise.
Your mood suddenly turning more sour at the realization, you mutter out a barely audible “Why?” before keeping your gaze with his eyes.
“You are so sick and twisted. I know she fucked up everything but you just let it out on me and then when I feel like I did it you have then you yell at me about why am I trying to fix shit that I didn’t do. It’s because of you!” you exploded.
Not stopping there, you step to up still maintaining the connected glare as you continue on. “Then you have the fucking audacity to like me? What the fuck is wrong with you.” You wept, your emotions finally overpowering you. You were so filled with anger but it was useless because there was nothing you could do about it. “It’s so unfair you can live your life like this while I’m just here.” you ended.
“Live my life like this? My parents aren’t even in the same fucking country because of her and you think your life is tough because I developed unwanted feelings for you?” He argued.
Anger flurrying through you, your arm flung at him involuntarily, slapping him in the process. “You don’t know everything!” you screeched tear stains down your cheeks before storming off.
As you were walking off, you heard him yell out to you causing you to stop. “I think it’s unfair that we can’t do anything about what our heart wants,” You heard him let out an emotionless chuckle. “If we could do you think I would like someone as low as you?” he deadpanned before listening to his footsteps walk off.
“Fuck you, Jungkook.” you gritted out before continuing on. Deciding on going home, you decided to text Chaeyoung ahead of time.
[4:51 pm] You: im gonna walk home early
[4:51 pm] Chae🍊: ? did something happen :(
[4:55 pm] Chae🍊: y/n???
[4:56 pm] You: can we talk about it later please
[4;56 pm] Chae🍊: ofc bubs
[4;57 pm] Chae🍊: do you want me to order your favorite takeout when i get home?
[4:57 pm] You: yes pls
And that was the last time you had any interaction with Jungkook.

Advice
This was originally supposed to be on Ao3 so a lot of this info probably wont be relevant to you but, a lot of it can also still be used so I hope you enjoy this little essay of sort’s that’s supposed to help you out. if you have anything to add to this then please do!
Make sure that your fic/story chapters are longer than 1k words and are descriptive. The more words you have in total can affect whether a person decides to read your work or not, for example I personally only read someone's work if it has 15k words or more.
It's a different case when your work is a one shot, I personally only read one shot’s if it is at least 1.5k or more words long. Remember to sort your works in paragraphs. It makes your work more appealing and way easier to read for most people.
You probably already know this but please don't put “read to find out” as the description of your work. It will just make you get less hits then if you actually put a decent description in the first place, it lets the readers know what they're possibly getting into and let them know if they’ll be interested or not.
With my experience with titles I couldn't really tell you too much about them other than the more clever it is the more intrigued the reader will be with your work. If you look at any other of my works you’ll see that I'm not exactly an expert on titles, so sorry if this piece of advice is wank.
If you're wondering what app/software you should use to write your story with , I would recommend google docs and word. Word is a software on pc so if you don't have a computer i would recommend google docs. You can access google docs through google on your phone and also download the app on your phone. If you don't want to use doc’s I recommend using a note’s app on your phone that you trust.
Just to let you know if you're going to put Author’s notes not every single one of your readers will read it. There will be a good proportion who will not read it but there also will be a good proportion who will read it. It’s best to put a lot of your personality into your author’s note’s to make it sound like you're the one actually saying it. Don’t make it sound like a book, sure that’s what your fanfic is supposed to sound like but this is an author’s note that most likely no one cares about so MAKE them care.

I had been tagged by @aibidil to answer: If one could put five books/fics on a pentagram to summon you, what would they be?
I gave this a good amount of thought since it's not like the regular fic-rec post, it's more about the fics that for some reason stayed with me in a prominent way. SO:
⭐Let's Fight a Revolution with Flowers in our Hair (it's an orphan account now, so I'm not going to write who was the original author) - one of the very first fics that I had read in general (and yeah, I know I discovered the whole fic thing super late in life haha) and also the fic with which I figured out that AO3 lets you download pdfs of the works onto your phone and you don't have to read them in the browser 😂 But, most importantly, it was the fic with my beloved rare pairing of my fandom of that time and it made SUCH an impression on me I had read it a few times in a row 🌼👊
⭐In Defiance of all Geometry by @idiopath-fic-smile - a fic that I could to this day quote from memory, I had been going through a pretty stressful time back when it came out and it somehow become my comfort read, I don't think there's any other fic on my Kindle that I had read more times than this one. Also, it introduced me to the awesomeness that is a well written polyamory relationship and started the tradition of me only skimming through tags and being surprised by the sudden OT3 😂
⭐All Our Secrets Laid Bare by @firethesound - I had already mentioned it in a post once or twice, but it was my very first Drarry fic and I will always remember how hard and fast I fell in love with Harry and Draco's characterisations and the worldbuilding there. It basically introduced me to this pairing, showed me how much more than canon they can be and helped me discover the fantastic community that is Drarry Fandom ❤️
⭐All Life is Yours to Miss by Saras_Girl - another comfort read of mine, this time from the Drarry fandom. There's just something about this story that resonates the most with me out of all of the Saras_Girl's fics (and yooo, had I read them all multiple times xD) and I like to get back to it from time to time, no matter the mood I am in, but it had been known to cheer me up when everything else failed 😊
⭐The Man Who Lived by sebastianL - a fic that I almost hadn't read because it was written in the 1st person pov and FUCK but am I glad I gave it a chance despite my stupid prejudice because it had me hooked after just a few lines and I remember checking how far in I am in hope that it's not that much yet; I wanted to savor it so much and at the same time I couldn't wait to learn what will happen next 🙈 It's one of these stories that simply leave an IMPRESSION on you, there's just no other way.
💛Dropped Dead Gorgeous by dustmouth - a bonus 'inside the pentagram' thingie, which is not really a fic but a comic - the very comic that made me realize I could try my way with longer, more plotty stuff and post them on AO3 even though I'm not a writer. These longer comics are pretty much my very fav thing to create these days 🥰 Also, all dustmouth's comics are a foolproof way to cheer up and nobody else could dress Draco better👌
Fuck, this got pretty long and I have no idea how to add the 'read more' thing via app or will it add by itself?? I'm so sorry you guys 🙈 I'm tagging @cibeewastaken @fomalhaut89 @drarryruinedme7 @goldentruth813 @upthehillart @fictional @bixgirl1 and anyone who wants to do it too! And please tag me if you do 😊😊

it isn’t failure; it’s data
Equipment: mac pro 2014 with inbuilt mic. Moto G3 (and then Moto G6) for reading via the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader. For hosting purposes, Dropbox and Mediafire. Software: both GarageBand and Audacity.
There’s 1600 words under the cut. Or you can read here over at Dreamwidth if it’s easier
Chose: GaragageBand or Audacity:  For the sheer scope of the information gathered alone, Audacity. I held out on using Audacity until I got my head around GarageBand, because GB was Apple. I did five of my first podfics in GarageBand (and the last six in Audacity). I'm glad that I did GarageBand before I got into Audacity, because Audacity didn't feel that difficult when I got my head around it, because I already had my wars with GarageBand. Although I do like GarageBand for the ease of rerecording (you literally just record over the offending area), and insertion of silences, it has a lot of drawbacks. For instance,  when it comes to longer files (about 180mins) it will start to eat your files. In addition, because not many people use GarageBand, information on troubleshooting is pretty rare, and Apple insists on upgrading and changing the interface ever so often. As a result, a lot of people I know are working from their legacy interface from 2014. It doesn't help me with what I have now. I only know one person (other than myself) who worked in GarageBand, and got tired of bugging her (she's busy and took ages to respond to my questions, because she's BUSY). whereas with Audacity, there are enough people to have a wiki. There are guides everywhere in terms of how to use Audacity, especially podfic specific guides. Overall, Audacity is a bit more straightforward, once you know what to look for. The wiki is relatively comprehensive and easy to follow. For instance, once I got my head around recording edits and putting them in the spaces where they needed to be, the process of recording patches then patching them for reedits is fairly straight forward. Audacity has the advantage of doing more pin point edits when it comes to mouth noises, and general cleaning up of fic background noises with noise plates. Audacity's envelope application is a lot better and smoother than GarageBand's fades (in terms of say, if you want to have music fading in or out of your narrative). Now, I don't think I'm going to be the sort of person to use music in a podfic unless the writer is pretty much waving semaphore flags and going - this piece of music here!- but it's a neat effect. Hardest thing about podficcing: For me, it was getting the reading down pat, to be honest. When I listen to my first five podfics, I'm surprised at how fast I'm reading, so every reading it's been me telling myself to slow down. It's one of the reasons why I started to edit as I go, because it forced me to refocus, and check my speed when rabbiting along. Then because my reading got slower, I could engage in the process of the fic more. However, as I grew more confident with the reading flow, I'd allow myself to read through a chapter or so, and then go back and edit. I didn't really get the concept of what a read/performance was until podfic 7, I guess (AO3 is down now, so I can't remember what it is. I want to say Cloud City). The whole concept of pauses in podfic and how that's a part of hitting the ear didn't really strike me until about podfic 10 (Stay In My Eyeline to the point where I took it down and recut for silences). But I think podfic 9 (Good Timing), made me happy enough with my narrative and voice bits. As much as podfic 11 KICKED MY ARSE, I'm more or less happy with the pauses and spaces in the fic. I mean, I could have done more, let the quiet spill out, especially towards the ending, but you can only learn by doing. I'm not going to beat up myself with the first podfics, tbh, because no one is born a master. Now, that last podfic. I don't think I had any hubris with the first ten podfics. I tried to improve on every one as I went on, and I think they got better quality wise when I jumped over to Audacity, because again, because of noise plates and edits made for a cleaner product (I could get rid of the 'clunk' sound when I'd stop the recording), but that last podfic (Now That I'm In Madrid) almost made me rage quit many a time. Between the file deletions, Audacity freezing, my files crashing, having to borrow someone else's PC to get my three hour files on as well as the edits, the installation of my mpegg plug in refusing to deal on my macbook (until I had to manually install it, after overriding Apple’s admin permissions to accept the plug in), only to export the chapters and not being able to bundle them into a book. Plus my voice turning to gravelly mush in the last third of the reading, it's been a hard knock on my confidence, to be honest. To the point where, I'm like, "Yeah, I liked podficcing, I guess? But erm... I don't think it likes me much." That being said, I really like the last story, and I'm sorry that I didn't do my best by it, but it was beyond my ken. To the point where, if I had to redo the podfic (lol, no), I couldn't do it any better right now, and that's fine. Reading source: A lot of people read their fic on screen while the recording is going on in the background. I tend to read directly from my smartphone, using the Adobe PDF app. I do like the app because you can highlight bits, and insert comments on the document, it's also smooth scrolling experience reading wise. My Moto G6 has more power and a better screen so it's an easier read. File hosting: Dropbox and MediaFire are relatively straightforward. They are fine. Most annoying bit of podficcing: Podfic covers. As much as I know that they didn't have to be made, I pretty much did it, because people do expect them (before Itsadrizzit started the push to overturn the practice). I wouldn't do anything beyond a text box now, but podfic covers came at the worst time for me. After recording, edits, and listen throughs and before uploading for hosting. I forever whinged around that. Most surprising bit of podficcing: The edits, I guess? I didn't mind them at all. I can do edits while being sociable, whereas for preprepping and doing the reading itself, I had to lock myself away and put my phone on 'do not disturb' mode. Would I podfic again? I don't have the resources, nor will I be in a position to get a new laptop for the while so, no, I don't know. More no than yes. It depends? As it is, I can't risk anything more than a 60 min run time (no more than 9.5k word count) and even then, I do wonder if I should review that to 30 mins (about 3-4k word count) because I can't trust my equipment. It makes no sense to set your stall up for anything less than a 2k word count. It's too much hassle for me to find an empty space and record for anything under 1.8k at least.  Not to mention the edits, listen through (ugh) and hosting. I can't do anything chaptered in terms of podbooks (because I don't know how to bundle the chapters to export without having ppl downloading 24 separate files and I don't have the bandwidth to deal with that right now. I'd just do a basic .m4b file, although I hear that people aren't fans and NEED. CHAPTERED .m4b podfic, but these madams will have to deal). My computer cannot be trusted to splice various files together (for instance, if I wanted to do a fic with a run time of 180mins, I'd have to do three 60min files, then splice them together. My computer crashed twice doing that feat, so no). This is tragic, because it's knee capped what I wanted to do. Liiiiike that 25k fic to pod in my bookmarks is now deleted (170 mins run time, three files of 57 mins give or take). Overall, yay or nay?  Yay! I'd like to think that I have shown respect for podficcers before, but after doing it for three weeks (11 podfics in three weeks, but I spent two weeks before doing the research) my respect is tenfold. It's not just reading what's on the page, but reacting to it with a mixture of control with the air of surprise. There's an art to it, as well as the technical bits, be it just having a fluid and enjoyable listening experience. Hell, just reading aloud alone is its own feat of stamina. There's the weighing up of file hostings, and this on top of the lack of Blanket Permissions, so if you find a fic that you want to do but there's no BP, you're out of luck, and there are far too many writers who are really arsey toward the whole medium. Conclusion: So, yeah, my experiment ends here! It wasn't a total failure, but it hasn't been an activity brimming with triumphant successes either. Thanks for the weigh ins and the advice from the podficcers who've been doing this for a minute. If you're a writer and are reading this, please think about including a BP in your profiles, even if it's a yes, maybe so (please ask) or hell no (so you won't be bothered).

Let’s Read: Readict “Not Rejected Just Unwanted”, parts 2-5
Yesterday, after having read the first chapter, I talked with my friend who turned me onto the app. She also downloaded it and started reading the story too. “If you sneeze, you'll miss the entire thing,” she said.
Maybe I should do more than just one chapter at a time? I guess that I'll see how I'm feeling, and how much the app lets me read!
Chapter 2
So following that encounter, Raine no longer felt like attending school. Like... bitch, nobody wants to attend school. You can't just ditch simply because...???? Reasons. But her teachers give her her school work for the day, and she goes to sign out. Which she can apparently do at this magical werewolf school where students can just ditch whenever they fucking feel like it.
However, as she's leaving the building, she's randomly ganged up on by a group of people. They surround her and start beating the shit out of her. Obviously, they have a reason for doing this, but Raine insists that she doesn't know what they're talking about. Lovely.
They're stopped by a mystery man, who helps Raine inside to the school doctor. Raine is having difficulty seeing, thanks to her beating, but when her vision miraciously clears as soon as she's inside, she's surprised to see that it's “Alpha” Jonathan Nelson. Aw, I'm disappointed that it isn't the name of another random celebrity.
Anyway, as you might expect, after having taken a beating like that where she literally lost her ability to see, the doctor says that he can't treat Raine there, and she needs to go to the hospital. Apparently, everybody here is a werewolf, and he doesn't say “the hospital”. No, he says “the werewolf hospital”. Because there's apparently a fucking difference.
Raine somehow thinks that she's in good condition to drive, but Jonathan (I fucking refuse to call him Alpha) says no, and physically picks her up and puts her over her shoulder, like the petulant child she is.
Just then, Frodo shows up and demands to know what's going on. To be fair... if I see a man carrying a woman who's bloody and bruised, I'm going to be asking a lot of questions, too.
Chapter 3
Jonathan tells Elijah that he's trying to take Raine to the “pack doctor”, that she was jumped by several others outside. Elijah wants to take her instead, and tells Jonathan to get to class. I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. WHY IS NOBODY ASKING WHY THIS KID WAS JUST WANDERING AROUND IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASSES?! WHY WAS A GIANT GROUP OF STUDENTS WAITING OUTSIDE TO JUMP RAINE?! IS THERE NO LAW IN THIS SCHOOL?! IS THIS SET IN THE WILD WEST OR SOMETHING?!
Anyway, Raine continues to insist that she can drive herself to the hospital. But the second that she's put down on the ground, she falls. Jonathan grabs her again, and insists to Elijah that he should get back to class.
Outside in Jonathan's car, Raine asks about her own truck. Jonathan insists that he'll get Elijah to drive it back home for her. And then he asks for Raine's name.
They go to the hospital, where they say that she has a bunch of broken bones, randomly sprained her wrist, and a concussion. Nobody says shit about lacerations, which Raine herself mentioned in the story earlier when she said that her lip was busted up and that it hurt to smile and talk. Furthermore, they don't say anything about having run any tests other than to just simply look at her. With injuries like broken ribs, it's likely that she has some insanely serious internal injuries. And honestly, those can be way worse than external ones, because they can get deadly if not found. (Hey, when I'm not watching crime dramas, I'm watching medical dramas.)
Also this: “Well she doesn't seem to be healing properly, so we'll have to run some tests to see.” [sic]
NOT HEALING PROPERLY?! BITCH, THIS HAPPENED... WHAT?! 10-30 MINUTES AGO?! I know in a lot of stories, werewolves can heal fast. But nowhere in this story is a healing factor mentioned at all!
Furthermore, why the fuck did nobody at the school call the police? Not only for the group of lawless teenagers running around and beating the shit out of unsuspecting people, but because this girl has some insane injuries. Not even the school doctor who assessed THAT THIS GIRL SHOULD GO TO THE GODDAMNED HOSPITAL once mentioned actually calling for a goddamned ambulance.
But then again, maybe they don't have a pack ambulance.
Not even five seconds after the doctor assessed Raine, she tells Jonathan that he should get back to school. He insists that it's fine. But then he asks what's up with her and Elijah. She tries to deflect the issue, but Jonathan calls her out on her lie, and she confesses that the two of them are mates.
Chapter 4
Jonathan is surprised to hear about Raine and Elijah. But Raine said that Rose will never find out, because “he doesn't want me”. Even though I'm pretty sure that Raine was the one who pushed Elijah away, but you know. Drama for the sake of drama. There is no point about any of this, but at least with a girlfriend for the mate, then there's some problem that needs to be overcome.
She also mentions that she asked Elijah not to flat-out reject her today because it's her birthday.
Oh, and the doctor “draws some blood” and does an ultrasound. Raine doesn't like needles because she once saw a scary movie where the bad-guy used a needle and it was scary! And like... I get it. Needles aren't fun. But do you want to know what is the literal goddamned worst? DYING OF INTERNAL INJURIES. Although, how the fuck is anybody supposed to figure out if she's got an internal bleed or not by doing a goddamned blood test? I mean, the ultrasound will figure some things out, but come on.
But anyway, Jonathan thinks that Elijah “rejecting” Raine is what's causing her to not heal. He says that he lost his mate, and knows how it feels. He also feels sorry for her, and says that she deserves better.
Jonathan then randomly asks where her friends are. IN CLASS, BITCH. IT'S THE MIDDLE OF THE GODDAMNED MORNING. WE ALL CAN'T JUST SKIP CLASS TO DO WHATEVER THE FUCK WE FEEL LIKE, YOU KNOW.
But because she's the woefully distraught teenage protagonist, Raine says that she doesn't have friends. This just ups her sympathy level in Jonathan's eyes. He says that he wants to be her friend, because he knows what it's like to have lost a mate.
The doctor then gives Raine something that will help her boost her healing abilities. Well, at least some of this is explained. But I wish that the story had actually bothered to tell us some of it before it was just randomly tossed in there. A little context would have been fucking nice, but whatever. But it really helps Raine to feel a lot better, and she's able to get back to Jonathan's car on her own. She's just coherent enough to hear him mutter “so cute” before she passes out from the drug.
Because of course there's going to be a goddamned shitty love triangle.
Chapter 5
And hey! Do you guys know what could possibly make this story BETTER?! Randomly switching the first person POV to Jonathan's! Which is a huge clue that he's going to be the end-game love interest.
Honestly, I used to read fics like this when I was 12. The only difference is that I fucking grew out of wanting to read poorly written trash like this.
After texting Elijah to bring Raine's car around later (and she randomly left her keys in the car, because that's fucking normal...), Jonathan then sits and thinks about Raine. She's so nice! I can tell from the two second conversation that we had!
I get that it would make anybody angry to see the end result of a gang fight like that, with so many people against one person. But at the same time, Jonathan will not shut the fuck up about how “nice” Raine is, even though like... how the hell would he even really know?
He then thinks about the shit situation Elijah is in with Rose. Jonathan had warned Elijah not to date before finding your mate, but Rose had manipulated Elijah to be with her. According to Jonathan, Rose is a lying bitch who manipulates and uses people. Which... yep. Book went there. And let's just say that Elijah refuses to acknowledge any of this about Rose, because he's... uh... probably thinking with not the brain in his head, if you catch my drift.
AND OH MY GOD. THE FORMATTING IN THIS IS JUST AWFUL. WHO THE FUCK TOLD THIS PERSON THAT THEY COULD FUCKING WRITE?!
Jonathan eventually gets to... who the fuck knows. He didn't even fucking know Raine's name until like an hour earlier. Neither did Elijah, I might add (this is for later). Jonathan goes back to thinking about how much Raine's situation with Elijah and Rose is going to suck, because Raine is going to go into heat. AND OH MY GOD. IF THERE IS SEX IN THIS BOOK, I WILL PROBABLY HUNT DOWN THE AUTHOR AND HURT HER.
Elijah shows up as Jonathan starts to take Raine inside from the car. Elijah starts to get insanely pissy about how Jonathan is holding her. However, Jonathan only heard from Raine about how she rejected Elijah, but twisted the story to make her seem like the victim in all of this.
Oh, and they're not at Raine's house. Apparently, all of the teenage werewolves live in a place called “the packhouse”, where they go to be with their mates once they find them. The parents live downstairs, or in stand-alone houses elsewhere in the town.
Jonathan takes Raine up to his room, because... that's not fucking creepy at all. He covers her up, and is about to leave, when she begs him to stay. Because of course she does. And then Jonathan randomly decides that he's going to protect her, no matter what.
And I'm out. This is about as much as I can take in one sitting. Goodbye.
