Leverage- Family Dynamics
Ugh, I'll most definitely write a bigger post about this, but don't you just love the character dynamic in Leverage and Leverage: Redemption? I'm rewatching the whole franchise and notice how over the course of the series the team just get so comfortable with Elliot, that they are absolutely not afraid of him. They know that he will never hurt them and that his gruff persona just hides a giant teddy bear inside.
Like The French Connection Job in season 5:
Elliot is like "I will stabb you in the neck" and Hardison just like "Yeah, yeah okay, but look at this cool laser and levitating food!" There is no way he would be like that in the first season LOL.
And in Leverage Redemption (I believe in The Date Night Job) when Breanna asked Eliot to cook for her and her significant other (he also made a meal for Hardison and you-know-who-because-no-major-spoilers for their date, thats just so cute) and gives him a lot of requirements, he casually throws the cooking knife into a pillar next to her. She doesn't even flinch and cassually walks off LMAO. I find it so sweet, because the team's trust in him is so absolute and they know that he will never hurt one of them and he will never endanger them, so Breanna is not even worried that the knife was flying anywhere but the pillar and that it would ever fly anywhere near her with an intent to hurt her.... And that is only just the trust that they have after working together for a bit, and her listening to Hardiso discussing his friendship with Elliot.
THEY LET ELLIOT COOK FOR THEM, BECAUSE THEY KNOW IT'S HIS PASSION AND THEY LOVE HIS COOKING!!!!!
I can't, this show always makes me fell warm and fuzzy inside. This is a team of lone wolves which becomes a found family over the course of the 5 seasons of Leverage and you are there for the ride all the way!
THEY ARE A FAMILY YOUR HONOUR!!!!!
(BTW if you havent watched these two shows, I highly recommend you to! It has everything you need for a good show- comedy, drama, action, suspense, found family, and superb characters with character developmen)

I'd like to join the kind words dogpile that seems to be happening and thus! I've been following your art stuff for a long time and have always gotten HUGE enjoyment out of it. I've loved every moment of your hanamusa comics from the get-go!
I love that weight gain is shown as a sign not just of health but of HEALING with Jessie's character, something not just to be accepted but actively celebrated. Because she is safer, stabler, better cared for. I love equally that James and Meowth are a part of that, both as Jessie's friends, for her recovery, and for their own separate paths forward. It's all just a wonderful cartoon villain redemption story, right up my alley.
Additionally, within the past year, year and a half range, I've slowly started drawing again. For most of my life I drew for at least a while every single day. I was never not dreaming up stories and there's still nothing I love more than sharing the little worlds inside my head, but things were pretty rough and unstable for my family for a couple of years and its impact on my mental and physical health led to my ceasing to draw almost entirely for those couple of years.
Having the energy and luxury to pursue art again has been a healing step and I'm slowly getting back into a groove of trying to sketch a bit daily. I'm having to relearn a lot of things that used to feel almost as natural as breathing, so it's often as draining and frustrating as it is cathartic and fun.
It's been so long since I did much of anything with my own ideas and stories that I often feel tapped out on creative fuel, but following the hanamusa arc and seeing how much joy other people take in it- and most importantly that you take in it and in sharing it- have helped revive a lot of love and inspiration for my own takes on the Ketchum family and my still intense and deep love of the anime series. My portrayals and such are wildly different from the adventure of hanamusa, but I love them both and have been grateful for the courage and persistence the presence of your art and writing have lent me. So you have my sincere thanks for simply Being, and for sharing of yourself and your ideas!
I know you doubtlessly get a LOT of messages every single day, so I hope you'll not feel a need to reply to this one because there is no need at all. If and when you have a chance to read this, I do hope it brightens your day a bit, like jessie. ash and delia always brighten mine. Be well, and I hope this coming year will be full of positive experiences for you!
aw thank you, i really appreciate it! (and thank you to everyone else who's been sending nice asks)
it makes me happy to hear you've been able to start drawing again! drawing and sharing my art makes me feel so at peace and happy and i only hope it makes anyone else who does art feel the same
best of luck with all your art making endeavors!

The Connection
Tumblr media
Pairing: Elliot Stabler x reader
Summary: Elliot Stabler is your best friend and has been for years. When he and Kathy get divorced, you let yourself wonder what it would be like to be with him...despite your current relationship status. Elliot's jealously will either bring you together or tear you apart.
Warnings: Divorce. Panic Attack. Gun shot wounds. Mentions of death. Hospital. Cursing. Use of pet names. SMUT, oral (M & F receiving), face sitting, unprotected sex (P in V)
It had been eight months since Elliot and Kathy had divorced. Eight months Elliot had spent alone, trying to figure out what the hell to do next. Eight months of trying to find the words to say and eight months of failing to.
The first couple months after Elliot's divorce, you thought about telling him how you felt--how you'd felt for years. You'd be lying if you said you hadn't thought about it every single day since the moment he told you they were getting divorced.
Your fear of losing your best friend was what stopped you from ever admitting your feelings. You couldn't bear to face that possibility. You’d rather have him as just your friend than nothing at all.
But everything changed for you when you met a handsome stranger just outside your favorite coffee shop on your way to work. Tony, as you would later learn, was an emergency room doctor at Mercy Hospital. He had just recently moved to the city after finishing his residency at a hospital in Chicago.
Before long, you and Tony were inseparable. He was kind, charming, and funny--and he treated you better than any man ever had. You were content, happy even, despite the little voice in the back of your mind. The voice that reminded you of how much you loved Elliot--how much you needed him.
That voice was always strongest when you were together, which meant you started to pull away from him--spending more time with Tony and less with Elliot. Even though the two of you worked together and saw each other nearly every day, you tended to stay in your office and avoid too much actual contact with him if you could.
You felt badly about the distance you'd created, but you didn't know what else to do. If Elliot felt the same way, he'd never even hinted at it, let alone expressed it, so you felt the point was moot. Why put yourself through the pain of rejection if you didn't have to? Plus, you had Tony now. Focusing on your relationship with him had to be your priority.
Elliot was no fool. He watched you pull away from him after you met Tony—and he thought he knew why. He couldn’t stand to hear you talk about him—didn’t want to imagine you with someone else. Someone other than him. He had no right to feel that way and he knew it, but there are just some things you can’t control.
You’d been with Tony for 6 months when Elliot finally reached his breaking point. The two of you, along with Olivia, Munch, and Fin, were in the squad room after a particularly stressful case. You were chatting with Olivia about her latest beau and she inquired about Tony. You told her you had been canceling dinner plans with him for the last week due to your case load, but you were planning on seeing him tonight.
“He’s perfect for you, (Y/N),” Olivia said with a smile. “You always light up when you talk about him.”
You offered her a small smile in return. “He really is amazing.” You leaned forward to whisper conspiratorially. “I think he’s been shopping for rings.”
Olivia’s eyes widened. “How long’s it been?”
“6 months,” you answered.
“Damn. That’s fast.” She shrugged, “but if you know, then you know.”
You opened your mouth to tell her that you didn’t know, but Elliot beat you to it. “Jesus, (Y/L/N), I didn’t expect you to just marry the first guy who jumped in your bed. When did you turn into such a needy slut?”
Your face paled and you stepped back as if he’d slapped you. He knew you well enough to know exactly what to say to hurt you and he didn’t pull his punches.
“What the hell, Elliot?” Olivia snapped.
Elliot avoided making eye contact with you—immediately regretting his outburst. He wasn’t one to apologize, and to be honest, he wasn’t very good at it, but he felt the strong urge to beg for your forgiveness.
“I shouldn’t've—“ he started.
“Leave it,” you cut in. “Whatever it is you were about to say, just don’t.” You grabbed your coat and your bag before turning back in his direction. “I’m going to dinner with a man who treats me with respect and genuinely cares about me. I would think you of all people would be happy for me.” You paused. “I know you're tired and stressed, but you don't have the right to take it out on me. I'm your friend, Elliot, although given what you just said to me, I'm not even sure about that."
With that, you walked out the door, never slowing or sparing a glance behind you.
Elliot felt terrible in more ways than one as he watched you leave. He could feel the gazes of his friends, but he couldn’t bear to look at them. “I’m going home,” he mumbled.
“Yeah, maybe you should get some sleep before you insult anyone else,” Fin said none too gently.
In any other situation, Elliot would have clapped back, but the fact that he'd just hurt you like that made him keep his mouth shut. He threw on his coat and stormed out of the precinct before anyone else could speak.
The entire way home, Elliot was fuming. He was mad at himself, mad at Tony, but most of all he was mad at you. Mad that you found someone who fit you so perfectly. Mad that you wanted someone else. Mad that you were happy. God help him--he felt terrible for it--hated himself, even. What kind of person felt this way about their best friend? Wasn't he supposed to be your number one supporter? Your biggest champion?
He was filled with regret as he entered his small apartment. It was mostly empty and completely devoid of personality. He had pictures of his kids, but not much else.
There was, however, one particularly special picture in the living room. He walked over to it and picked up the frame, his heart clenching as he stared at it. It was a picture of you and him on a random Saturday. He'd dragged you to the park for an early morning run, which he knew you hated. You'd gotten your revenge by pushing him into a pond beside the running path.
After you'd stopped laughing, you tried to help him out of the water, but he pulled you in with him, leaving you both soaking wet and laughing hysterically. When you made it back to dry land, you'd dragged him close and snapped a picture of the two of you--muddy, wet, and laughing.
The picture really showcased your personality--light, bubbly, happy, and just a bit goofy. It was his favorite picture and one of his favorite moments with you...it was the moment he realized he loved you. A feeling he'd never expressed, even though he'd felt it long before he and Kathy solidified their divorce.
It was almost two years later and he still hadn't told you how he felt. And now that he was a free man--and had been for a while--you'd found the man of your dreams. He'd managed to blow his chance to be with you and now it was too late.
The picture suddenly became blurry and he sat it back down on the table before wiping his eyes. He wasn't good with emotions and he was thankful no one was there to witness this particular display.
He tried to push all thoughts of you from his mind as he wandered around his kitchen, scrounging up something to eat. He tried not to picture you at dinner with Tony. He tried not to imagine what you would do after dinner. He tried not to think about anything at all...but no matter what he did, you plagued his mind from the moment you'd walked out the door. He decided to go out to a bar and get himself a drink or two. It was Friday after all and he'd had a long week. Why not blow off some steam?
You weren't in the best of moods when you met Tony for dinner that night. Elliot's words echoed in your ears and the feeling of hurt had yet to dissipate. He'd never lashed out at you like that before. Not once. You'd heard him do it to other people, especially when he was angry or frustrated--but he'd never done it to you. You weren't sure what it meant now that he had, but you were certain it wasn't good.
Tony picked up on your mood immediately and he was obviously concerned. He'd asked if you were alright, if you wanted to reschedule...but you'd told him it had just been a long week and not to worry.
"You seem distracted, (Y/N)," Tony commented gently. "Are you sure you're okay?"
You looked up from the food you'd been playing with on your plate and sighed. "Sorry, Tony. I've got a lot on my mind."
He nodded. You could tell he wanted to probe deeper, but he wisely opted to back off. He started to chatter about some new resident at the hospital, complaining about how green the kid was, and your mind began to drift.
You knew you should have been paying attention, but you really couldn't find the energy to--or perhaps desire was the better word. All you could think about was Elliot. When had everything gone so wrong? How did it all become so fucked up? Why did you care so much? He clearly didn't.
A single tear slid down your cheek and dropped onto your plate, surprising you out of your thoughts. You hadn't realized you'd been crying until that moment. You quickly wiped your eyes, hoping Tony wouldn't notice. When you glanced up at him, you knew he'd seen and you could tell he wanted to know what the hell was going on.
The problem was, you weren't even sure what was happening. Why did you feel so damn sad? As you stared at Tony, you realized there was only one person you wanted to talk to about it...and it wasn't the man in front of you. You were hurting and you only wanted the man who'd hurt you. How fucked up was that?
"Seriously, babe, what's going on?" Tony asked gently, concern lacing his voice.
You shook your head. "I don't really wanna talk about it."
"Okay...I wouldn't normally push, but you were literally just crying into your pasta."
"I'm aware, Anthony," you said rather harshly.
He winced slightly and you sighed sadly.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to snap," you said softly.
"It's okay."
There was something about the placating tone of his voice that just set you off. "No it's not! None of this is okay! I'm not okay!"
He was clearly taken aback by the intensity of your outburst and you found yourself feeling incredibly embarrassed...and perhaps a bit annoyed.
"I just--I just wanna go home," you mumbled.
"Okay," he said gently. "Why don't you go wait in the car. I'll pay the bill."
He handed you the keys and you practically ran out of the restaurant. You couldn't explain what you were feeling--it was like you were suffocating, like the very air you were breathing was toxic. Your heart was pounding out of your chest and everything just felt wrong. Your vision started to darken and you felt like you were being crushed...you fell to your knees on the sidewalk, body shaking as you started to hyperventilate.
Moments later, Tony came rushing out and dropped to his knees beside you. You could hear him asking you what was wrong, but you couldn't answer him. You hadn't recognized the signs at first, but somewhere inside you, you knew you were having a panic attack. You couldn't explain why and you certainly couldn't tell him what was happening.
You heard Tony say something about an ambulance, but your brain was too foggy to comprehend what was happening. You'd had panic attacks all your life, but this one felt different--it came on even more suddenly and it was more intense than any attack you'd ever had before. Something about it felt final...deadly.
You heard the sounds of sirens in the distance, and at first you thought they were headed for you, but they never seemed to move any closer. Your vision was almost black, your head was pounding, and you felt as if your body was full of lead--you knew you were moments away from passing out. The last thing you heard was the ringing of a cellphone in close proximity to you. Just as you realized the phone was yours, you succumbed to the blackness of unconsciousness.
A couple blocks away, an ambulance and several police officers were responding to a call for shots fired at a local bar. According to the call, one man was dead, one was critically injured, and four more were wounded.
Witnesses said a man had opened fire inside the bar after an argument had escalated. After the first few shots rang out, another man had gotten up from his seat, pulled out his gun, and identified himself as police. The first gunman pulled the trigger twice, shooting the police officer twice in the chest. As he was falling to the ground, he pulled his own trigger, killing the gunman almost instantly with a shot directly to the heart.
The officer laid on the ground, blood seeping from his wounds, terror gripping his body. His only thought was of his family, and how he would never get to see them again.
He could hear voices all around him, but he couldn't make out what they were saying. His eyes were glazed and unfocused, and he was beginning to feel cold. He knew what that meant, even if he didn't want to admit it.
He heard the scream of sirens followed by the sound of footsteps near him. He heard a man's voice ask a question, but he didn't hear the response.
He heard snippets of what was said, "Gun," "argument," "scared,"...but the one that caught his attention was "Benson." He didn't understand why someone had said his partner's name and he tried to ask, but his voice came out as nothing but incoherent sounds.
The sound of more sirens neared and he began to drift towards sleep or death...he wasn't sure which one. His eyes had closed and his body felt heavy as he took what he feared would be his last few breaths.
"Detective Benson," Olivia answered on the second ring.
"Hi, Detective. This is Officer Bailey."
"Hey, Bailey. You got a case for me?"
"Not exactly, ma'am..." he paused. "It's your partner. Detective Stabler?"
Olivia felt her blood go cold. "What about him?"
"He was involved in an incident at O'Malley's Bar on 5th," Bailey said slowly. "Bar fight turned deadly. Apparently, Detective Stabler shot the gunman."
She inhaled sharply. "Is he alright?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line that told Olivia everything she needed to know. "How bad is it?" she asked softly.
"It's bad, detective. They're taking him to Mercy Hospital. You should probably go there."
Olivia's first thought was of Elliot's kids--she needed to call them when she had more information. She didn't want to scare them if she didn't need to. "Thanks for the call. I'm heading over there now."
She hung up, grabbed her keys and her coat, then ran out the door. She intended to drive with lights and sirens to get there--policy be damned.
When she got to the first floor of her apartment building, it suddenly hit her that she should call you. Even after his comments earlier that day, Elliot was still your best friend. You'd want to know if something happened to him and you'd be beyond pissed if Olivia didn't tell you right away.
She called your phone several times as she drove to the hospital, each time leaving a voicemail begging you to call her back.
She was thankful she lived so close to the hospital and she made it there in record time. She pulled up to the emergency room entrance just as an ambulance pulled up to the front doors.
Olivia quickly got out of her car and jogged towards the entrance, but she stepped aside as EMS rushed someone through the doors. Olivia's face paled as she got a good look at the person on the gurney--you.
She ran in after them, practically running right into Tony as he came in. Olivia recognized him immediately. "What the hell happened?" she asked in a rush.
Tony looked over at her in surprise, as if he was just realizing she was there. A look of recognition crossed his face, but it was quickly replaced with confusion. "She, uh--I don't know. She collapsed outside the restaurant." He eyed her carefully. "What are you doing here?"
"Elliot was involved in some sort of altercation at a bar. They brought him here, so I came down to figure out what the hell happened."
Tony looked shocked. "When?"
Tony's face paled. "That's right about when (Y/N) collapsed..."
Olivia's eyes widened. "What are the odds of that?"
He shook his head. "I'm gonna say extremely unlikely."
She sighed and shook her head too. "I need to check in with the front desk and see what they know."
The ladies at the front desk informed Olivia that Elliot had received two GSWs to the chest and was currently in surgery. They promised to keep her updated and let her know if anything changed. She also asked them to keep her updated on your status as well. It didn't seem likely that the two incidents were connected, but she had to admit it was really damn weird.
Olivia joined Tony in the waiting room and made several phone calls to Elliot's kids and the rest of her team. She wanted to make sure they all knew what was going on. The kids were out of town with Kathy, but Fin, Munch, and Cragen all promised to come down to the hospital immediately.
When they arrived, the five of them sat in the waiting room in silence. None of them knew what to say.
About an hour after the others had arrived, a nurse came into the waiting room. "(Y/L/N)?" she called.
Tony looked up at the sound of your name. He jumped out of his seat and walked towards the nurse. "Is she okay?" he asked urgently.
The nurse nodded. "She's awake and asking for someone named Elliot."
Olivia made eye contact with Fin, who was sitting across from her. He shared her knowing glance before they both looked in Tony's direction.
"Oh, um...I'm her boyfriend. Would I be able to see her?"
The nurse nodded again. "Sure, Dr. Cooper. She's in 103."
Tony immediately headed towards your room without waiting for the nurse to follow. Olivia got up and walked over to the nurse before she could walk away. "Excuse me," she called.
The nurse turned back to her. "Yes?"
"You said (Y/N) was asking for Elliot?"
She nodded. "You know him?"
Olivia nodded her affirmation. "He's my partner. He was brought in about 2 hours ago for GSWs to the chest. I believe he's in surgery right now."
The nurse paled. "Dr. (Y/L/N) didn't have any noticeable injuries. Was she there when he was shot?"
Olivia shook her head. "She was a couple blocks away. We're not sure what happened to her."
"The doctor said it was probably an intense panic attack, based on the symptoms Dr. (Y/L/N) described."
Olivia was a little surprised, but she didn't say it. "Thank you."
The nurse nodded and headed back into the patient area. Olivia returned to her coworkers and shared the information she'd just received.
"A panic attack?" Fin asked in surprise.
Olivia nodded. "That's what the nurse said."
"At the same time Elliot got shot?" Munch asked.
"Roughly, yeah." Olivia confirmed.
"What the hell are the odds of that?" Cragen asked.
"I'd say a million to one," Munch answered.
"At least she's gonna be okay," Fin said softly.
They all nodded their agreement. No one wanted to mention their fears about Elliot's survival...they just had to hope he would pull through.
You'd been surprised to find yourself in the hospital when you awoke, but you quickly realized the intensity of your panic attack must have literally knocked you out. Tony wouldn't have known what was happening, so of course he called 911.
You checked your phone as soon as you woke up and discovered you had several missed calls and messages from Olivia. You listened to the most recent one and felt the blood drain from your face.
"(Y/N), please answer your phone! I'm getting worried. Elliot's been in some sort of altercation and it's bad. I don't know what's going on, but I'm on my way to the hospital. Please call me." Olivia's voice sounded panicked, so you knew it must be really bad.
You pressed your call button and the moment a nurse walked into the room you asked for Elliot. The nurse told you she didn't know who that was, but she said she'd go out to the waiting room to see.
Much to your dismay, the person who walked into your room 5 minutes later, was Tony. You felt terrible for feeling that way, but not seeing Elliot standing in your doorway confirmed your worst fears.
"Elliot?" you whispered, the meaning of your question very clear.
Tony sighed as he came to the side of your bed. "He's in surgery," he said gently.
Your skin was already pale, but you turned white as a sheet upon hearing those words. "What happened?"
"He was shot twice in the chest. Some guy shot several people during a bar fight and Elliot stopped him."
"How bad is it?" You didn't really wanna ask, but Tony was an ER doctor after all...he would know and he wouldn't lie to you.
His expression was sad. "It's bad, (Y/N/N)," he said honestly. "It's really bad."
You couldn't stop the tears from sliding down your cheeks. You didn't want to ask more questions--didn't really wanna know--but you needed to. "What are the odds?"
Tony shook his head, not wanting to upset you further.
"Anthony, please," you begged.
He sighed. "He might not make it through surgery, but even if he does, the chances of survival are slim. He lost a lot of blood and there was internal damage from the bullets."
You closed your eyes and took a shuddering breath. "Where's Olivia?" you whispered.
"She's out in the waiting room. Want me to get her?"
"Please," you said so softly he barely heard you.
A few minutes later, Tony reappeared in the doorway with a distraught Olivia. She pushed past him and into your room, quickly crossing the short distance to your bedside. Tony backed out of the room and out of sight.
"How are you feeling?" she asked worriedly.
"I'm fine," you answered. "I don't understand how this could happen."
Olivia knew what you meant, but she didn't have a good answer for you. Elliot didn't frequent bars alone, nor was he the type to get into any kind of bar fight. But honestly, what really bothered her was the timing of your panic attack. "Why did you have a panic attack?"
You looked at her in surprise. "I--I don't really know. It just came on suddenly."
"Right when Elliot was in trouble? That just seems...odd."
"I can't explain it. I was outside waiting for Tony to pay the bill and it hit me. I was on my knees, unable to breathe, in mere seconds."
"You know I'm not a superstitious person and I don't really believe in any of that mystical stuff, but if I did...I'd say you felt something happen to him and that's why you had the attack."
You wouldn't classify yourself as some kind of mystic either, but you were a psychologist. You'd spent years studying the human mind, and nothing about it made complete sense. The brain is the most complex part of human anatomy...so complex, in fact, that we may never fully understand it.
"I suppose it's possible," you began slowly. "We know there are examples of minds being connected in inexplicable ways, the best example being that of twins. Twins claim to be able to sense each other and understand each other in ways the rest of us could never really understand. Twins a 1,000 miles away from each other claim to know the exact moment their twin died. Some people claim to have similar bonds with siblings and significant others. So while it seems unlikely, it is entirely plausible that such a connection could be formed between two people."
"If anyone was to have a connection like that, it would be you and Elliot."
"What makes you say that?"
Olivia gave you a knowing look, one you'd seen on her face countless times before...just never directed at you. "I might not be a profiler, (Y/N), but I'm not an idiot. It doesn't take a good detective to know that the bond between you and Elliot is different--special."
"He's my best friend," you conceded, although you knew that was not what she meant.
"This goes way beyond friendship," she said simply.
She didn't elaborate and you didn't need her to. Some part of you knew she was right, or at least suspected it. But if her idea of this connection was accurate--and your interpretation of the meaning was accurate--then didn't that imply your feelings were not one-sided?
You weren't sure if you were ready to admit it, but this revelation changed everything for you. In that moment, you decided if Elliot survived this, you would tell him how you feel...consequences be damned.
**********
Two weeks went by without much change or improvement in Elliot's status. He'd made it through surgery, but he'd been in a coma ever since. The doctors weren't quite sure why...there didn't appear to be a medical cause.
You visited Elliot every single day, sometimes spending hours at his bedside talking to him. If there was even the slightest chance he could hear you, it was worth it.
That first night in the hospital had changed a lot of things for you, and it made you realize you couldn't keep pretending anymore. You broke things off with Tony, unable to lead him on any longer. He was surprisingly understanding about it, despite the obvious hurt.
The rest of the squad would stop by periodically to check in on Elliot and to see how you were holding up. You'd come back to work right away, but you'd made yourself as scarce as possible. You weren't ready to face the possibility that Elliot may never wake up, even if your coworkers were.
It was week three of Elliot's coma when you were called to testify in court for an SVU case. It wasn't a case you wanted to relive, but you'd played a vital roll in identifying the offender and your testimony was crucial.
You'd testified for a day and a half before you were finally released from court. Having done your duty, you pulled out your phone to check your messages. You were surprised to see several missed calls--all from Olivia.
Your heart clenched in your chest and terror froze your body in place. You weren't sure you wanted to listen to the message she'd left...you wanted to live in this moment just a while longer. In this moment, in this world, Elliot was still alive, but if you listened to that voicemail, that world might shatter.
You forced your body to move, making your way to a more secluded part of the courthouse before taking a deep breath and pressing 'play' on the voicemail.
"I know you're in court, but I wanted to make sure you heard this as soon as you finished up. We're all at the hospital--Elliot's awake!"
You didn't listen to the rest of the message--nothing else mattered. All you heard was "Elliot's awake!" and you were already running towards the exit. You ran at top speed all the way out of the building and to your car, pushing past anyone who got in the way.
When you reached your car, you jumped in the driver's seat and took off, ignoring almost every single traffic law in existence. All that mattered was getting to the hospital--all that mattered was Elliot.
After parking your car, you raced into the hospital and into the elevator, angrily pressing the button for the 3rd floor repeatedly. When the doors finally opened to the ICU, you sprinted from the elevator and down the hall towards Elliot's room.
You were breathless when you reached the doorway of his room, but you didn't care. Olivia, Munch, Fin, and Cragen all stood around the bed and they turned towards the door when they heard you.
You barely noticed any of them. Your focus was entirely on the man sitting up in bed, his bright blue eyes locked on yours. "Elliot," you breathed softly.
Every single person in that room felt the air shift when you entered. It didn't take a trained investigator to recognize the tension in the air. You didn't move from the doorway and your gaze didn't leave Elliot's face.
"Why don't we give you guys a moment alone?" Cragen suggested as he started to back out towards the door.
The other three followed their captain, Olivia shutting the door as she exited the room.
"Hey," Elliot murmured once the two of you were alone.
"Hi," you said softly, voice catching slightly as your emotions washed over you.
"Come here," he coaxed.
You crossed the room, stopping when you reached the side of his bed.
The two of you stared at each other in silence, emotions threatening to overwhelm both of you. It felt like everything inside you bubbled up all at once and you gasped, "I'm sorry."
Elliot spoke his apology at the exact same time. "I'm sorry."
You both let out a breathy laugh, some of the tension easing from your bodies.
"What do you have to be sorry for?" Elliot asked.
"I shouldn't have ever questioned our friendship. It was cruel."
He shook his head. "If anyone was cruel, it was me. Frankly, I deserved way worse than what you said. I didn't mean a word of it, (Y/N), not a single word."
"I know--" you began.
"Let me finish," he cut in insistently. You fell silent, allowing him to continue. "I shouldn't have called you a slut. I shouldn't have judged your relationship--it wasn't my place. I was upset and I took it out on you...it wasn't fair and I'm sorry. You deserve better."
"I appreciate that," you said quietly. "But why did you say it? You're never cruel to me...ever."
The pain in your voice nearly broke his heart in two. "I was mad at you," he mumbled. "It's stupid and it doesn't matter 'cause you're with Tony anyway and you're happy and I should be happy toorightbecauseyou'remybestfriend--"
You grabbed his arm to bring his attention back to you and cut off his ramble. "You can breathe now," you teased you lightly.
He chuckled. "Sorry."
"Don't be. I think it's cute when you ramble like that."
He rolled his eyes. "Great. I'm cute."
You grinned. "Very cute," you said in a teasing tone. As you looked at him, your smile slipped and a sad expression slid into place. "I thought I was going to lose you," you whispered.
He grabbed your hand and squeezed it tightly. "I'm harder to get rid of than that."
Tears filled your eyes, despite your attempt to smile. "What happened, Elliot?"
"They didn't tell you?"
"I know the official story, but I wanna hear it from you."
"I needed to blow off some steam, so I went to the bar for a couple drinks. Some guy got into an argument, pulled out a gun, and started shooting...so I shot back."
Your eyes fluttered closed. "You could have been killed."
"But I wasn't."
"But you could have been!" you said loudly. "Why the hell did you go to that bar alone? Why didn't you just stay home? You could have called someone to go with you! You could of--"
"(Y/N)," Elliot cut in gently. "I'm okay."
You realized you'd been rambling and you inhaled deeply to catch your breath. "I was so scared," you whispered. "When I woke up and Olivia told me what had happened...it felt like my world was falling apart. All I wanted was to see you, but you were still in surgery. Even when you finally made it to recovery, they wouldn't let me see you because they wanted to keep me for observation overnight."
"Wait, what? Who wanted to keep you for observation?" he asked, confused.
"The hospital," you answered. "I got here about 5 minutes after you."
"What?" His eyes scanned over your body, checking for wounds or signs of injuries. "Why? What happened? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," you assured him gently. "It was just a panic attack."
He looked even more confused. "A panic attack?"
"It was intense," you admitted. "I passed out and Tony called 911. I didn't know what happened to you until I woke up in the hospital and listened to my voicemails from Olivia."
"I thought you usually knew when a panic attack was coming on."
"This one was weird. It hit me suddenly and literally brought me to my knees." You paused. "Anyway, I'm fine. How are you feeling?"
"Sore," Elliot admitted. "My chest feels like an elephant is sitting on it."
"Do you need pain meds? I can get the nurse--" you turned to call for the nurse, but he grabbed your arm to stop you.
"No, please--don't go."
You turned back to him. "I'm not going anywhere, but if you're in pain, the nurse can help."
He shook his head. "The meds make me sleep. I don't wanna sleep."
"Alright, but if the pain becomes unbearable, please tell me."
"I will," he promised. "I just want to talk to you for a while longer."
You smiled. "I can't say no to that."
For the next several minutes, you helped Elliot get caught up on everything that had happened in the last three weeks, leaving out a few key things about changes in your life until the end.
"I, uhh--I broke up with Tony," you mumbled quickly.
Elliot's eyes widened and you swore his face lit up before he tried to hide it. "Oh? I'm sorry, (Y/N/N). I know you really liked him."
You shrugged. "He's a good man and he'll make a great husband for someone, just not me."
"So...why'd you break up with him?"
"He deserved to be with someone who loved him the way he loved me and I knew I'd never be able to."
"Why not?" Fuck subtlety, he thought to himself.
You laughed breathily. "Good lord you're full of questions."
"That's not an answer."
You shot him a look of annoyance, but he knew you weren't actually upset. You were clearly trying to decide how to answer his question...and how much information you really wanted to give him.
"You can't love more than one person at the same time. At least not fully."
He raised his eyebrows. "Who do you love?"
"Elliot," you groaned softly. "Why does it matter?"
"I want to know." I need to know.
You sighed heavily. "How long have we known each other?"
He was clearly confused by your question, but he answered it anyway. "Eight years?"
You nodded. "And you were married for most of it, right?"
"As far as I'm aware, yes," he said in boorish tone.
"Six years, Elliot. Six whole years of my life," you said softly.
"What do you mean?"
You bit your lip and stared at the blanket covering his chest, unable to look at his face as you answered his question. "That's how long I've loved you," you whispered.
He'd waited two very long years to hear you say those words, but he'd never actually imagined you would ever say them. He was so stunned by your admission that he found himself rendered mute.
The seconds ticked by and you started to feel incredibly foolish and embarrassed. "Please say something," you begged.
He realized he'd been silent for too long and he rushed to say the words that had lived in his heart for so long. "I don't really know when I fell in love with you, (Y/N), but I'll never forget the moment I realized I loved you, and I don't think I'll ever be able to stop loving you."
Your jaw nearly hit the floor as your eyes shot up to meet his. You'd never dreamed he'd feel the same...at least not until three weeks ago. Perhaps Olivia was right after all--perhaps you really were connected in a deeper way. "El..."
"You don't have to say anything," he whispered.
"I love you," you said simply.
His chest ached from more than just the gun shot wounds. "I love you too."
You let out an awkward chuckle. "So what do we do now?"
"Right now?" he asked. "Well right now, you're going to kiss me because I can't really move."
You laughed warmly before leaning in and placing a soft kiss to his warm lips. The moment your lips connected, it just felt right. Everything about him felt right.
"As much as I'd love to kiss you until one or both of us passes out from lack of oxygen, I think I might need those painkillers instead," he said softly, finally letting the pain creep into his voice.
You nearly smacked him. "How long have you been in this much pain?"
"Doesn't matter. This was more than worth it."
You glared at him, but the glare quickly softened to an affectionate expression of concern. "I'll get the nurse."
You returned moments later with the nurse in tow. She gave Elliot a shot of morphine to dull his pain. It didn't take long for him to drift back off to sleep.
You settled into a chair beside his bed, content to stay beside him for as long as the hospital staff would let you.
**********
Four days later, Elliot was finally released from the hospital. You insisted he come to your place because there was absolutely no way you were going to let him be alone yet. Much to your surprise, he didn't argue, if anything he seemed glad for your insistence.
"At least I don't have to give you a tour," you said with a smile as you held the door open for Elliot.
"I've only been here 100 times," he teased.
You closed the door behind him and watched as he moved slowly towards the couch. You knew he was still in pain, though he likely wouldn't admit it.
"Do you need anything?" you asked tentatively as he sunk down onto the couch with a muffled groan.
"Nah, I'm fine."
You knew better than to argue with him. "How 'bout we order Chinese for an early dinner? I don't really feel like cooking."
"God, yes. That sounds amazing."
"Hospital food that bad?" you teased.
"Worse."
You laughed and went to the kitchen to grab the number for your favorite take out place. You ordered enough food to feed a small army before settling onto the couch beside Elliot.
"Okay, so here's the options: we can watch TV, we can sit in silence and awkwardly stare at the wall, or we can talk."
"I vote for the awkward staring."
You laughed. "TV it is."
You turned the TV on, but nothing seemed particularly interesting. Eventually you settled on some mindless drama.
You pulled the blanket off the back of the couch and draped it across your lap. "Do you need one?"
"I'm good."
A few quiet moments went by before Elliot cleared his throat. You looked over at him, but he didn't say anything. You turned back to face the TV, but he started shifting beside you, as if he was restless.
"El?"
"Hmm?"
"What's wrong? Are you in pain?"
He shook his head. "Not really. It's just--well it's just that you're kinda far away."
You raised an eyebrow as you regarded him. "I don't wanna hurt you."
"Well, I wanna hold you and I don't really give a damn if it hurts me."
You offered him a small smile. "I'll be gentle."
You moved closer to him and laid your head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around you and pulled you close, wincing slightly as he shifted. Once you'd both gotten comfortable, your focus went back to the TV.
About 20 minutes later, the buzzer for the door went off and you jumped up to answer it. You let the delivery guy in the main doors and waited for him to reach your apartment.
"Do you always let the delivery guy in?" Elliot asked.
"Yeah."
"It's not safe, (Y/N)."
A knock at your door alerted you to the presence of your dinner. You opened the door, took the food, and paid before shutting the door behind him.
"I've never had any issues," you commented.
"We know plenty of people who have," Elliot said softly.
You glanced over at him and sighed. "El, I've been living alone for most of my adult life. I'm painfully aware of the dangers of being a single female in this city, and I'm always careful."
He nodded, but he didn't look like he really wanted to let it drop.
You walked back into the living room and started laying out the takeout boxes on the coffee table. "Dinner is served."
He inhaled deeply. "Damn that smells good."
"Thank you. I slaved away in the kitchen for hours to make it for you."
He laughed warmly. You saw the look of pain cross his face, the laughter clearly aggravating his wounds.
"At least take a couple Tylenol," you begged.
He sighed. "Will it make you feel better?"
"Yes."
"Fine. I'll take a couple."
The two of you had managed to eat a large portion of the food you'd ordered and you'd gotten Elliot to take some pain medication. All in all, you felt very successful.
The two of you were curled up on the couch watching a movie. Your head was in Elliot's lap, a blanket covering your body, and his arm draped across your torso.
At some point, his hand began to play with your hair and gently trace meaningless designs against your skin. The motion relaxed you and you sighed contentedly. Your eyes drifted closed and you knew you should get up go to bed, but you were simply too warm and comfortable to get up.
Next thing you knew, Elliot was gently shaking you awake. "Sweetheart? It's late. You should go to bed."
You let out a little groan. "But I'm so warm."
He chuckled. "You'll be nice and warm in your bed too. Come on," he coaxed.
You grumbled softly as you sat up. You dragged your weary body off the couch and started to walk back towards your bedroom. When you realized Elliot wasn't following you, you turned around. "Coming?"
"Oh, I--uh...I can sleep on the couch, ummm--if you want."
"We're adults, Elliot. We can share a bed."
"Thank god," he said as he slowly made his way towards you. "Your couch isn't comfortable to sleep on."
"Hey! You've never complained before."
"That's because sleeping in your bed was never an option before."
"I suppose you have a point."
He followed you into your room and chuckled softly as you crawled directly into bed, not even bothering to change into your pajamas. He walked to the other side of the bed and stood there for a moment, clearly unsure of what to do.
"You okay?" you asked.
"I, uhh, I normally wear a lot less clothing when I sleep."
"Oh," you mumbled with a blush. "Umm, you can get comfortable. I don't mind."
"I'll keep some stuff on for modesty," he teased lightly. "I just gotta lose the sweatpants or I'm gonna sweat to death in the middle of the night."
You laughed. "We wouldn't want that."
He quickly shed his pants before crawling into the bed beside you. "Shit," he said with a sigh. "You've been holding out on me."
"Huh?"
"This bed is 1,000 times more comfortable than the couch."
You laughed and very lightly smacked his arm. "You're the worst. You're lucky I let you share in this great comfort."
He grinned. "I feel very lucky. I'd even go so far as to say I feel honored."
You blushed. "Oh hush. Go to sleep, you dork. I'll see you in the morning."
You turned off the bedside lamp and settled back into the bed.
"Goodnight, (Y/N)."
"Goodnight, Elliot."
**********
For the next couple weeks, Elliot was on desk duty at work, which meant he had much more time to spend with you. On slow days, he would come sit in your office and chat with you for hours until someone (usually Cragen or Olivia) came looking for him.
Even though he was more than capable of living alone again, Elliot was still crashing at your house. You'd insisted at first, but it had become a comfortable routine that neither of you were quite ready to break.
The rest of the squad started to notice the change in your relationship too. Elliot was much more affectionate towards you, both physically and verbally. He'd use terms of endearment as often as possible and he was always within arms' reach of you.
The shift in dynamics really became obvious when you and Elliot continued to arrive together to work in the morning after the doctors had cleared him for duty.
"Okay, I'm tired of dancing around this shit," Fin spoke up when you and Elliot walked in the door together.
"Dancing around what?" Olivia asked.
"That," he responded, pointing at you two.
"What about us?" Elliot asked.
"Are you still living with (Y/N)?"
"Yeah," he answered with a shrug.
"So are you dating?" Fin probed.
Elliot shrugged off his jacket and plopped down in his desk chair. "Yeah."
Three surprised voices started peppering you with questions. "Since when?" "Why didn't you tell us?" "How long has this been going on?"
"Guys!" you yelled as you threw up your hands. You were surprised that Elliot had admitted to the relationship so freely. You hadn't discussed keeping it a secret or anything like that, but you also hadn't discussed if and when you were going to tell everyone. "Can you at least wait until I put my bag down before you verbally assault me?"
The questions and comments continued, but were now aimed at Elliot as you made a beeline to your office to drop off your bag and coat.
Before you could make it back to the squad room, there was a gentle knock on the doorframe. "Got a second?"
You turned around at the sound of Cragen's voice. "Sure," you answered as you leaned back against your desk. "What can I do for you?"
"Well, I may have overheard the commotion in the squad room when you and Elliot got in."
"Oh."
"Were you planning on telling me?"
"Honestly, sir, we hadn't discussed it. We didn't even really discuss our relationship...it just sort of happened."
"Near-death experiences will do that to you."
You nodded. "It was rather eye-opening for both of us, I think."
"Not as much for the rest of us."
"What do you mean?"
Cragen smiled. "It doesn't take a good detective to see how much the two of you care about each other, even long before Elliot got shot."
You blushed. "I tried not to be obvious."
"I make it a point to know my people, (Y/N), and I pay attention."
"I hope our relationship isn't going to be an issue, sir."
He shook his head. "I'm not worried about the two of you one bit. You've always been professional and I don't think admitting you love each other out loud will change that."
"I appreciate that, sir. I know Elliot will too."
Cragen just offered you a simple smile before making his way back towards the squad room. You followed slowly behind him, allowing yourself time to steel yourself for the onslaught of questions.
Much to your surprise, the conversation had shifted to other topics, namely Munch's permanent bachelor status and Olivia's terrible choices in men.
You leaned against Elliot's desk and he looked up to smile at you.
"I see they've moved on."
"I put them in their place," he said with a smirk.
"Do I wanna know what that means?"
"Probably not."
You laughed. "You're probably right."
Elliot's next thought was interrupted by the ringing of his phone. He answered it, listened for a few moments, then said "We'll be there in 15," before hanging up. "Liv, we've got a vic over at Bellevue."
She sighed and grabbed her coat. Elliot followed suit, but he paused to kiss you softly before following her out the door. "I'll see you later. Love you."
You smiled. "Love you too. Be safe."
"Always," he said with a wink.
You watched him walk out the door and you felt a pang in your chest. You'd always worried about him--about all of them--every time they went out on a call, but it felt different now. Knowing he loved you as much as you loved him made it so much harder to watch him leave knowing he might never come back.
Thankfully, he did come back, though he was not in a pleasant mood. He was snapping at every person who crossed his path and anyone who dared look at him sideways.
"It was the dad, Olivia," he was yelling when you came into the squad room. "I'm sure of it."
"Okay, Elliot, but we don't have any proof!" she yelled back.
"Hey," you cut in. "What's going on."
"Little girl is in the ICU because she'd been beaten pratically to death. The doctor said there was also evidence of prolonged sexual abuse," Elliot answered.
"That's terrible."
"Yeah, what's worse is the father did it," he said angrily.
"What proof do you have?" you asked.
"God, not you too."
"El, we can't just assume it's the father without some sort of evidence."
"My instincts and years of experience not enough for you?"
"It might be enough for me, but it's not enough for a court of law," you countered.
You could see the rage in his eyes and you knew exactly what he was thinking. You knew the statistics as well as anyone, so you knew it was likely that the child had been raped by a close family member. As a father himself, Elliot hated when a father was the cause of such trauma to a child. That hatred fulled his anger, which led to poor decision making.
"Why don't I talk to the father?" you suggested.
"I'm bringing him in tomorrow morning. I want first dibs," Elliot insisted.
"I think it's best if I talk to him first," you said gently, but firmly.
"Why?"
You sighed, not really wanting to answer him. "Because I'm not sure you can be objective, Elliot."
As you suspected, that only fueled his anger more. "Of course I can be objective! I'm objective! Why do you think--"
"You're angry," you said, cutting him off.
He paused. "Of course I'm angry!"
"I may not have children, but I understand where your anger is coming from, Elliot. The difference is you let your emotions guide you--you imagine yourself in that person's shoes and it fuels your rage." You sighed deeply. "For what it's worth, I trust your judgment. If you think he's guilty, I'm inclined to agree, but I want to talk to him first."
Your words seemed to calm him down. He hated seeing a child hurt, especially one that had been hurt repeatedly. He knew you were right--he was emotional and that tended to cloud his judgment. You, on the other hand, knew how to remain calm and rational, which tended to get you better results.
"You're right. You should interview him."
At that moment, Cragen stepped out of his office. "Emily Riley just passed away. The parents are on their way down to the station now."
"What happened?" Elliot asked.
"She threw a clot to her brain. It was likely caused by the beating she took."
"Why are the parents coming down here?" you asked.
"Mrs. Riley attacked Mr. Riley. She was screaming something about him doing this to Emily. Uniformed officers are bringing them down."
You turned to look at Elliot, who had a slightly surprised look on his face. "I think that means you were right, El."
"Maybe, just once, I'd like to be wrong."
When the Rileys arrived down at the station, Fin and Munch took Mrs. Riley to an interview room, while you took Mr. Riley to another room. Olivia joined you at your request, while Elliot and Cragen watched from the other side of the glass.
It didn't take you very long to get a full confession from Mr. Riley. He admitted to sexually assaulting his daughter for several years. It took a little longer for him to admit to beating her, but eventually he did. He told you and Olivia that he had to kill Emily because she threatened to tell her mother about what he'd done to her for years.
Once he admitted that, Elliot stormed into the room and yelled at him--screaming that he was a pervert and a monster. "You'll get the needle for this...and I'll be right there watching."
Elliot put handcuffs on him and took him to booking, with Olivia trailing behind. You met Cragen outside the interrogation room and he told you you'd done a good job.
"Honestly, I'd rather never have to do an interview like that again."
"But you're good at it, (Y/N)."
"Doesn't mean I like it."
"I don't think any of us really like it."
You offered him a sad smile before walking away, heading to your office to sit down and have a nice cry.
About 30 minutes later, Elliot found you in your office, eyes red from crying.
"Doll?" he asked. "You okay?"
You nodded. "I'm fine. I just...I hate doing those."
He came around the side of your desk and pulled you into him. "I know, baby. I don't like them either."
"That poor little girl. She never had a chance."
He squeezed you tighter. "At least he's going to prison for the rest of his life...thanks to you."
You looked up at him. "I can't take all the credit. Olivia was there too."
"You're the one who won him over. You got him to admit to everything he'd ever done to his daughter."
"At least this is done. I just wanna go home."
"Me too," he said as he stood up. "Get your coat and let's get out of here."
"I want a hot bath," you grumbled.
He chuckled lightly. "Hot bath, a glass of wine, and a good night's sleep next to your very handsome boyfriend, should do the trick."
You rolled your eyes as you threw on your jacket. "I'm taking you up on that."
"It's a guarantee," he said with a wink.
**********
It had been two months since Elliot had been shot. Two of the best months you'd had in a long time. Elliot felt the same. He loved spending time with you and just being around you made him feel so at peace. Just sitting next to you on the couch while you watched a movie made him happy. It was all the little moments that warmed his heart.
Tonight was special. It was the anniversary of the day Elliot realized he was in love with you. To you, it was an ordinary Tuesday, but to him, it was one of the most important days of his life.
He'd made dinner reservations for your favorite restaurant for that evening, but he wouldn't tell you anything else he was planning.
"Why tonight? What's the occasion?" you'd asked him that morning.
"Because I love you and I want to show you just how much," he'd answered.
You didn't believe there wasn't more to it, but you let the matter drop. By the time 5pm rolled around, you'd almost forgotten about your plans for that evening.
"Come on, babe, we gotta go," Elliot said as he popped his head into your office.
"Just let me finish this--"
"We've got reservations at 6:30, sweetheart."
You looked at your watch. "It's only 5:15."
"We have to get home and change first."
"Where are we going that I can't wear this?"
"It's a surprise! Now come on."
You laughed and gathered your belongings before following him out the door.
When you arrived home, you found that Elliot had already picked out exactly what both of you would be wearing that evening. He'd selected a beautiful dress for you and a well-tailored suit for himself.
Thirty minutes later, he was dragging you out the door, insisting he didn't want to be late.
When Elliot pulled up in front of the restaurant, your face lit up in surprise. "Elliot, you hate this place," you insisted.
He shrugged. "But it's your favorite."
"El..."
"Come on, beautiful." He hopped out of the car and quickly came around to your side to help you out. He dropped his keys in the valet's outstretched hand before guiding you to the door.
"You never do valet. You always say it's a waste of money," you whispered.
"Tonight is a special occasion," he countered. "Besides, you're worth it."
You blushed heavily as he held the door open for you and followed you inside. "Is that why you took me to one of the most expensive restaurants in Manhattan?" you murmured quietly.
"Mhmm," he hummed.
"Am I missing something here? What's the special occasion?"
Before he could respond, you were met by the maitre d'. "Good evening. Do you have a reservation?"
"Yes. Two for Stabler."
The man smiled at the two of you. "Right this way sir, ma'am."
You followed him to a nice secluded table in the far corner of the restaurant. It gave Elliot an excellent view of the entrance and it suited your preference for a quiet table.
A bottle of wine was immediately brought to your table and two cups poured. It was, of course, your favorite wine.
"Seriously, El...what's with all the fanciness?"
You chuckled. "Can't I treat my girl just because I want to?"
"You can, but I know you. You don't like fancy things."
"But you do."
"Sometimes," you conceited. "Especially when it comes to food."
He grinned. "You have very high expectations as it relates to food."
"You're not wrong."
A server seemed to appear out of nowhere to take your orders. You hadn't even begun to look at the menu, but you didn't need to. You knew exactly what you wanted. After the server left, you turned your attention back to Elliot.
"Are you going to tell me what's so special about today?"
He looked you in the eyes and for some reason, his expression made you feel emotional. "Two years ago today, I realized I was in love with you. This is the first time I've actually had the opportunity to celebrate that love."
Tears welled in your eyes and you gently fanned your face with your hand. "Come on, (Y/N), don't cry in public," you said lightly to yourself.
Elliot laughed warmly and reached across the table to take your hand. The man wasn't big into romantic gestures, but he'd made an effort for you and that meant everything to you.
"This is the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me."
"You need to meet better people then," he said with a smile.
"It wouldn't have the same meaning coming from someone else."
It was his turn to blush. "You deserve to know how much you mean to me. I want to make sure you never forget it."
"I love you, Elliot," you said softly.
"Not as much as I love you."
The evening was extremely beautiful. Delicious food, incredible company...who could ask for a better night?
When you made it back home, you immediately slipped off your shoes and dropped onto the bed. "Who invented heels and can I kill them?" you grumbled.
Elliot laughed as he tugged off his tie. "I'm 80% certain murder is illegal. Besides, they make your ass look incredible."
You laughed. "You're not wrong, but only 80%?" You sat up and watched him as he continued to remove his shirt. Your eyes followed his hands as he unbuttoned his shirt--mouth watering slightly at the teasing bit of his form you could see.
Ordinarily you'd be embarrassed by how blatantly you were staring, but it had been a long time since you'd felt the touch of a man and your body suddenly lit up.
Elliot was still chattering on about something until he looked in your direction and fell silent. The look on your face was hungry--possessive even--and it sent a shock wave of desire through his body.
"Baby?" he asked tentatively.
"Come here," you responded, voice low and husky.
Even if he'd been blind and deaf, he still would have been able to feel the desire oozing from every pore in your body. It wrapped around him, enveloping every part of him, pulling him towards you.
He stopped at the edge of the bed, eyes slowly tracing over your body, waiting for you to give him permission to touch you.
"Help me up," you purred.
He grabbed your hands and pulled you to your feet. "Turn around," he said softly.
You did as he asked, exposing the zipper of your dress to him. You felt his fingers slide slowly up your spine before grasping the zipper and pulling it down at an agonizingly slow pace to just above the curve of your butt.
His lips brushed against the exposed skin of your shoulder as he began to remove your dress. He could feel your heart racing, the blood pumping through your arteries as he kissed your neck.
You gasped softly as his teeth grazed your pulse point, sending shivers through your body. His hands pushed your dress the rest of the way down, letting it pool at your feet.
You felt his hands caress you, sliding around your midsection and pulling you back against him. The way he touched you only made you want him more--the slow pace he'd set driving you crazy.
As if he sensed your need for more, his left hand began to slowly glide up your torso towards your breasts. He slid his hand across one breast and then the other, giving each one a gentle squeeze as he did so.
Your body was flush against his and you could feel his arousal pressing into your back. The lack of skin-to-skin contact was making you desperate. You needed to feel him--all of him.
You turned your head to look up at his face, but you were surprised by his heavy-lidded expression. You'd never seen him look like that and it did something to you.
Your lips parted slightly as you gazed at him and he found it impossible to resist. He leaned down to press his lips against yours, earning a soft sigh from you. You turned around so your chest was pressed against his, and your arms wound around his neck.
His shirt was already unbuttoned, so all you had to do was push it back off his shoulders and let him tug it the rest of the way off. You then let your hands wander under the hem of his undershirt, palms flattening against his taunt abs.
He knew what you wanted, so he pulled back just long enough to pull his shirt off over his head. He leaned back in to kiss you, but you pulled back slightly, hand pressed against his chest to keep him in place.
He would have been hurt by the motion if he'd missed the look on your face. Instead, he felt his chest swell with pride as you eyed him like he was the god, Adonis.
"See something you like?" he teased.
Your eyes flicked up to meet his. "I see a whole lot I like."
He grinned and pulled you back in for another searing kiss. You swore that every time he touched you, it was like your body was on fire--each touch increasing the intensity of the burning. But it wasn't painful...it was an incredible feeling and you wanted more.
Elliot's hands made their way to your back, and he deftly unclasped your bra with practiced hands. You let the bra slide down your arms, exposing your breasts to his hungry eyes.
He cupped them, lifting them to his mouth as he lowered his head to taste your skin. You let out a moan of pleasure as he nipped and sucked, paying each breast and each nipple its dues.
Your fingers began to claw at his belt, desperately trying to free him from the confines of his pants. Elliot chuckled softly at both your desperation and your frustration at not being able to undo his belt.
He pulled back and nodded his head towards the bed. "Lie down, baby."
You did as he asked, eyes never leaving him. He quickly undid his belt and unbuttoned his pants. He was slow to remove them, clearly enjoying the tortured expression on your face.
Your breathing was labored, despite the fact that you weren't doing a damn thing. You could feel your arousal pooling in your panties and you knew you were seconds away from completely losing it.
"How 'bout I just remove these too while I'm at it?" Elliot asked as he tugged his boxer shorts down his legs. When he stood up straight, you got your first view of his erection and you felt your pussy clench as a little gasp escaped your mouth.
He was thick and long--larger than you were used to, but not so big that it scared you. Your mouth watered slightly, the mere thought of feeling his weight on your tongue a massive turn on.
You quickly pulled yourself off the bed, cutting off Elliot's question before he could even speak as you dropped to your knees in front of him.
His eyes widened slightly as he gazed down at you. You looked up at him with a doe-eyed expression that nearly buckled his knees. He watched as you tentatively placed your hands on his thighs, eyes flicking up to his, checking to make sure it was okay.
He reached out and ran his fingers through your hair, letting you know he was comfortable. You licked your lips as your hands moved up his thighs, nails gently scratching the skin.
Elliot's breathing was already heavy and he knew he was going to have a hard time controlling his orgasm. It had been a long time for him too, after all.
You gripped his cock in your dominant hand, leaning towards him to take him into your mouth. You took as much of him as you could without gagging, eyes never leaving his face.
"Fuck," he whispered as he looked down at you.
The single curse word sounded like praise to you, so you ran with it. You wasted no time--you set a quick, intense pace, and he was loving it.
His fingers were tangled in your hair and a string of moans, heavy pants, and curses slipped from his mouth. He watched you as much as he could, but his head would roll back involuntarily as he reacted to the pleasure.
"You're doing so well, baby--feels amazing."
You moaned softly around his cock in response. The vibrations mixed with the warm, wet heaven of your mouth nearly made him cum. You felt the way his body tensed and knew he was close, so you sped up your movements, paying special attention to his sensitive head.
Elliot had been determined not to cum yet, but he was struggling to hold himself back. It just felt so damn good. "Baby, I--I'm close."
You were well aware and you wanted to taste him so badly--so you did the only logical thing...you looked up at him as you sucked, eyes filled with desire.
Within seconds, Elliot filled your throat with his cum--orgasm slamming into him like a freight train. As he started to come down from his high, he realized his grip on your hair was way too tight and he let go of you instantly.
"Sorry, baby. Did I hurt you?" he asked breathlessly.
You smiled up at him and licked your lips, making sure to get the last of his cum into your mouth. "Not at all, El. I loved every minute of it."
He relaxed and let out a relieved sigh. "Well so did I...you were phenomenal, (Y/N/N)."
He helped you up and pulled you against him so he could kiss you--not giving a damn that he could taste himself on your tongue.
"Can you lie down for me, baby? I'd like to repay the favor."
"You don't have to," you assured him as you settled onto the bed.
He looked at you in confusion. "You say it like it's some sort of chore."
You shrugged. "Not all men reciprocate."
"What kind of heathens have you been dating?"
You laughed. "Well...none of them were you."
"See, there's your problem," he teased.
He climbed onto the bed with you, hovering over your body, eyes scanning your face as if he was memorizing it.
"Have I told you how beautiful you are?" he murmured.
"Once or twice," you said, cheeks blushing slightly.
"Hmm," he hummed. "I've gotta tell you more often. No one compares."
Now your cheeks flushed a deep crimson. "Elliot..."
He suddenly sat up. "You know what, babe? I've got a much better idea." He flopped down onto his back. "Sit on my face."
"Say what?"
He turned his head to look at you. "Sit on my face," he said again.
"I...umm. That sounds dangerous."
He cocked an eyebrow. "It's not dangerous, it's sexy as hell."
You sat up and turned to face him. "Are you sure? I mean...couldn't I smother you?"
He laughed. "Absolutely not." His expression sobered suddenly. "Are you telling me no guy has ever asked you to sit on their face?"
You shook your head, embarrassment creeping into your face.
He sat back up and reached for you. "We don't have to do anything you don't want, but I promise you it's worth it--for both of us."
"Are you sure?" you asked again.
"I'm absolutely positive, babe."
He looked and sounded so confident--and to be honest, you'd always wanted to try it--so you nodded your agreement.
You quickly pulled your panties off before climbing on top of him. You straddled his chest--a slightly worried expression on your face.
"I promise you, you're not gonna hurt me," he reassured you. "Besides, I'm strong enough to throw you off me if I had to."
His tone was light and teasing, which made you feel better. Plus, you knew it was true--he really could throw you around if he wanted to.
You took a deep breath and moved your body so your pussy was directly over his face. You lowered yourself slightly, but you didn't actually sit on him.
He sighed in annoyance. "Did I ask you to hover over my face, baby?"
"No," you mumbled.
"What did I ask?"
"You asked me to sit."
"Mhmm...so sit."
You lowered yourself a little more, but you didn't put your full weight on him. You didn't think he would notice, but you were completely wrong.
He wrapped his arms around your thighs and tugged you down so you were completely flush against him. He made the happiest noise you'd ever heard before diving into the delicious feast above him.
You nearly jumped off of him as he began to eat you out--the sensations so intense, it startled you. But holy fucking shit did it feel incredible.
The sounds coming from your mouth were loud enough to wake your neighbors. You grasped the headboard for support as you moaned and begged and chanted his name like a prayer.
All-the-while, Elliot was expertly attacking your pussy, sending wave after wave of unimaginable pleasure through your body. He groaned into you as he feasted, your cries of pleasure spurring him on.
He felt your nails rake against his scalp and your thighs began to shake. He tightened his grip on you as he continued his ministrations.
"Elliot--fuck," you gasped. "I'm so close."
"I know," he said into your pussy, knowing full well you couldn't hear him. He sped up his assault on your clit and seconds later your orgasm washed over you--screams of his name echoing in the small room.
He continued lapping up the mess you'd made, arms still wound tightly around your legs, keeping you against his mouth.
You started to squirm, but he didn't let go. "El--sensitive."
After a couple more licks, he finally released you and you practically fell off of him and onto the bed. Your legs shivered as aftershocks worked their way through your body.
Elliot was happily licking his lips as he watched you, expression smug. You looked almost delirious with pleasure and it brought him great pride.
"That...was...incredible," you said between breaths.
He grinned as he sat up. "I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did." He wiped the rest of your slick from his face with a satisfied smirk.
You looked over at him and laughed breathlessly. He just looked so pleased with himself that you couldn't help but find it funny.
"Kiss me," you pleaded softly.
He was never one to deny you, so he pulled himself up and climbed onto your body, hovering over you once again. He leaned down and gently pressed his lips against yours, earning a contented sigh from your lips.
You cupped the back of his neck and pulled him closer to you as you deepened the kiss. He shifted slightly to get more comfortable and you could feel his arousal press against your thigh. You smiled against his lips, appreciating that he was willing and able to keep going.
Elliot felt your lips curve into a smile and he pulled away so he could look at you. "Something funny, doll?"
You shook your head. "Nothing's funny. I'm just...pleased."
He chuckled and kissed your neck. "Pleased, eh?" He pressed another kiss against your skin. "About what?"
"You," you said breathlessly--his kisses quite clearly having the desired effect on you.
He smiled as he nipped at your collar bone. "I'll take the compliment."
You lifted your hips, brushing against his cock in search of friction. He hissed softly, the feeling too much and not enough at the same time.
Elliot grabbed your hips and pulled you towards him so he could settle more comfortably between your legs. He went back to kissing you, his hands gently skimming over your skin, his cock pressed against your entrance.
You ran your fingers through his short hair and whined softly.
"What's wrong, baby?"
"Need you."
"I'm right here." His teasing tone annoyed you slightly--he knew exactly what you wanted.
"Elliot," you whined.
He grinned. "Come on pretty girl, just tell me what you want and I'll give it to you."
"I want you."
He nipped at your jaw. "Come on...you can do better than that."
You whined again, squirming beneath him, in dire need of his touch. "I wanna feel you inside of me, Elliot--please," you begged.
He growled softly, hearing you beg for him like that made him almost feral.
To your surprise, he started to pull away from you. "El?"
"Need a damn condom."
"I'm on birth control," you said quickly.
"You sure, babe? We know this little swimmers are potent."
You laughed. "I'm sure. Come here."
He lowered himself back on top of you and lined his cock up with your entrance. His eyes locked onto yours, searching for any sign of discomfort. Seeing none, he started to push into you slowly.
The stretch was both delicious and painful at the same time. Your nails dug into his shoulders and you winced slightly when he was about halfway in.
"Shit, am I hurting you?" His worried tone matched his facial expression.
"I'm fine," you assured him. "You're just...big."
He grinned wolfishly, pride pumping through his veins. He kept pushing forward until he completely bottomed out inside you, a deep groan escaping from his lips.
He gave you a few moments to adjust before he began to move. His speed was slow and languid, and his eyes never left yours. He wanted to make sure you were comfortable and enjoying yourself as much as possible.
"More," you gasped out softly.
He sped up his movements, earning a series of moans from you. He shifted his body to get a better angle and you cried out in pleasure, nails scratching into his skin.
He knew better than to slow down or shift any farther. With each thrust, he brought you closer and closer to the edge--and the convulsing of your tight pussy mixed with the sounds coming from your mouth, pushed him towards the edge too.
"Please, please, please" you chanted.
"I've got you," he murmured.
Your nails dug even deeper into his skin, drawing blood as they raked down his back. You cried out in pleasure--a sound that closely resembled his name--as your orgasm hit you.
Elliot barely held on long enough to get in another thrust before he was filling you up with his seed, whispering your name like a prayer in your ear.
As the two of you came down from your highs, Elliot slowly pulled out of you. You shivered at the loss of contact and you could feel his cum leaking from your hole.
"I'll be right back, baby," he whispered as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
You could hear him in the distance, but you were a little delirious from all the pleasure he'd just given you. When he came back, he scooped you up into his arms and carried you towards the bathroom.
You let out a little yelp when he lifted you--you were unaccustomed to being carried anywhere. "What--?"
"Hot bath?"
You smiled up at him. He didn't really strike you as an aftercare kind of man, but you could tell he really cared. He wanted to take care of you.
You nodded and he very gently lowered you down into the tub, which was still filling with hot water.
"Temperature okay?"
"It's perfect," you said with a sigh as you leaned back. "Join me."
"In a minute, babe."
He left the room and came back a few moments later with a lighter and a couple candles. He quickly lit them and turned off the light, so the room was bathed in a soft glow. It was surprisingly romantic.
You leaned forward so he could slide into the tub behind you. As soon as he was comfortable, he grabbed you and pulled you back against him. He kissed the top of your head and you sighed happily.
"I love you," he whispered into your hair. "So damn much."
"I love you too, Elliot."
The two of you stayed in the bath until the water began to cool. Elliot helped you dry off and slip on your nightgown before guiding you back to the bed.
He pulled on a pair of boxers and slid beneath the covers beside you. He reached out and put his arm around you, pulling you to him so your back was flush to his chest.
"Sleep well, my love," he whispered.
You were already drifting off to sleep as he uttered those sweet words. He didn't need a reply--he knew exactly how you felt by the way you curled into him, a soft sigh escaping your lips.

If there was something about the SVU squad, was that they all had their backs, no matter what. Either they had some issues, they were attacked, they were at risk, whatever they needed, they were there for each other. But something that they didn’t find odd at all was that they really didn’t talk much about their personal lives. Of course, everyone knew Stabler’s kids and wife, they knew about Fin’s son, Much didn’t actually say much but Stabler knew he had a brother, and Olivia, they knew about her mother that had now passed away. Alexandra Cabot learned a thing about everyone every single day, from the day she joined, she learned to study them and get her own conclusions until proven wrong, that’s the way she got to know people. It was no surprise that Alex was a private person, people knew some things about her but nothing too personal, whatever she did after work, it was for her to know and for the rest to wonder. It was even uncommon to see her in normal clothes, always wearing some fancy brand suit with her perfect hair, so if she had a secret life outside work, no one would ever know.
That’s how, no one in the squad or even the DA’s office knew that Alexandra Cabot had a girlfriend. The Ice Queen had a girlfriend. It wasn’t like she wanted to keep it a secret, it was not, she was happy with her girlfriend, and she loved her. Hell, she was crazy about her, she’d do anything for her, she had fallen hard, and she was happier than ever. But she also knew that if she put it out there that she was dating someone, she would be at risk. They dealt with any type of people every day to the point where they didn’t know how dangerous they could be and what they could be capable of, so that’s why Alex decided to keep it between them. And her girlfriend, y/n, didn’t object. She knew the job, she was close to it since she worked as Melinda’s second in command, so basically, she knew the whole squad, she was seen at the precinct whenever Melinda was busy and asked her to go. So they knew her.
That’s how Alex and y/n met; Melinda was normally the one who took the results to the squad, sometimes directly to Alex whenever she requested a copy to prepare her questions, but they had been stuffed with work and Melinda had sent y/n to take a copy of some exams to Alex. Y/n knew who Alex Cabot was, of course she knew, she had seen her before, and she would’ve lied if she said she hadn’t felt butterflies in her stomach. She was beautiful, y/n was sure that wherever she went, everyone stopped and stared at her, how could they not? But this was the very first time that she was going directly to Alex, to say the least, she was very nervous, she knew she’d definitely make a fool out of herself.
Y/n knocked on her door and cleared her throat. “Ms. Cabot?”
Alex looked up and smiled. “Hi, can I help you?”
“Uh-“ Y/n showed her the folder and smiled a little. “Melinda asked me to bring you a copy of the results from the Turner case?”
“Oh! Yes. I thought she’d come. Come on in.” Alex smiled. “Close the door, please.” Y/n gulped as she closed the door, walking to Alex’s desk and handing her the papers. Alex looked up at her and grinned. “You can sit down, you know?”
Y/n chuckled. “Thanks.”
Alex squinted her eyes as she looked at her, raising her brow. “Can I offer you some water?”
“No, I’m good. Thank you.”
Alex nodded and started reading the results. “Seems like everything I need is here.” She looked back at y/n and smiled. “Thank you for bringing them to me.”
“Is there anything else you need me to bring?”
“Not for now. I think these results will be enough.” Alex smiled as she tilted her head. “You’ve been to the precinct, haven’t you?”
Y/n nodded, her heart skipping a beat. Alex has noticed her. “I have. I normally go whenever Melinda is busy, I’m…literally her second hand.” She chuckled.
“You must be good at your job then. I know Melinda can be a little strict.” Alex grinned.
Y/n chuckled softly. “She’s alright. She’s been like my mentor ever since I joined.”
Alex nodded. “Well, I won’t take more of your time. Thank you for bringing me these. I hope I get to see you again.” She grinned.
Y/n stared at her for a moment, feeling her legs trembling. “Would you…maybe…like to get  a coffee some time? Maybe lunch?”
Alex tilted her head as she smiled. “I’d like that.” She grabbed a small card and wrote her personal phone number on the back. She looked up again and handed it to y/n. “Here. Call me when you’re off work and we can meet up somewhere.”
“I sure will.” Y/n smiled softly as she grabbed the card and looked at it for a moment and then back at Alex. “I’ll see you around then.” She stood up and walked to the door.
“See you around, y/n.” Alex smirked as she looked back down at her files.
Y/n stopped on her tracks and looked back at Alex. “You…you know my name.”
Alex looked back at y/n. “I might have asked Melinda about you.” She smiled.
And that’s where the relationship started. Y/n loved to remember how Alex used to play this flirtatious woman, almost hard to get. She would lie if she said she had never heard from people how Alex always rejected them when asked on dates, but y/n had acted out of impulse when asking and she got a yes, and Alex later confessed that she had been watching y/n from afar and she had been wanting to run into her to ask her out but never had the pleasure too. After a month or two of dating, Alex was deeply in love with y/n and the ‘hard to play’ persona was completely gone.

“Melinda, I finished the paperwork from the Lopez case. Do you need anything else?” Y/n smiled softly as she stood beside Melinda.
“No, you’re free to go.” Melinda looked up at her and smiled. She raised her brow as she grinned. “Going somewhere in this fine Friday night?”
Y/n chuckled. “To my couch and my cozy blanket.”
“Oh, c’mon, y/l/n. You’re young, why don’t you go out and get yourself a date? I’m pretty sure you’d get anyone you want.” Melinda said as she went back to the computer.
Y/n smiled. “I don’t really want anyone. I’ve already got what I want.” She patted Melinda’s shoulder. “See you tomorrow.” She grabbed went to grab her stuff before she left.
The moment y/n started working with Melinda, she felt safe and comfortable, something she had been scared about because she first thought she would never be good enough for her job. But Melinda had received her with open arms and had taught her everything she knew so far, and y/n always told her she would forever be grateful. So whenever Melinda made comments like that, she wished so badly she could just tell her that she had everything she always wanted because she was dating Alex, but she knew that their relationship was private and for a good reason. They had been dating for the last 2 years, and the conversation about relationships had never actually showed up until this very moment, which made her realize that for all this time, no one had suspected anything. Maybe because they were not seen together often, or they were not in the same place ever.
Y/n closed the door behind her and placed her coat and bag on the rack beside the door. She made sure the door was locked and she walked to the big living room, finding Alex sitting on the couch with some files on her lap. She loved the times when she came back from work and she found Alex in the apartment already, it wasn’t common since Alex normally always worked until late at night in her office, or if she came back home, she was stuck in her office until early hours. Y/n smiled softly and leaned over the arm of the couch, kissing her cheek softly.
“I’m surprised you’re home.” Y/n whispered softly as she kissed the side of her head.
Alex giggled and threw her head back to look at y/n. “Thought I’d just finish my notes here.”
Y/n chuckled at the angle but leaned down to kiss her lips. “Good. So. Dinner? Do you fancy some chicken and pasta?”
“I’d like that.” Alex smiled. She then moved as y/n walked out of the living room. “Do you need some help?” She put all her files together and then followed y/n into the kitchen.
“You can just sit there and look all pretty as always.” Y/n tilted her head as she smiled.
Alex rolled her eyes playfully. “You’re afraid I’m going to burn down our kitchen?” She went ahead and got some glasses out for wine.
Y/n chuckled and wrapped her arms around Alex’s waist, kissing her shoulder. “I want to spoil you. If you wanna help, you can go ahead and put the pasta to boil while I prepare the chicken.”
Alex turned on her arms to look at y/n and smiled. “Okay, that sounds like a plan.” She pecked her lips softly and then went ahead to get the pasta.
“So…” y/n cleared her throat as she got all the things she needed from the fridge. “Melinda asked me why I wasn’t partying in this fine Friday night.” She walked to the kitchen island and placed all the things there, looking at Alex.
“And what did you say?” Alex turned to look at her with a curious look.
“That my couch and my cozy blanket were waiting for me.” Y/n smirked.
Alex laughed. “Am I the blanket?”
Y/n shrugged. “You could be.” She winked at her.
Alex shook her head as she walked to y/n and kissed her forehead. “We can always tell them, you know?”
“I’m okay with how we are.” Y/n looked at Alex and smiled. “We know the job we do, I know the risks you have with your job. And it’s a relationship for us and no one else. So…” she shrugged. “I don’t mind.”
Alex nodded as she smiled. “Then we just stay as we are.” She leaned in and kissed her lips softly. “You know I love you, right?”
“Mmm…no? I don’t know what you talking about.”
Alex wrapped her arms around her neck as she grinned, pulling y/n for a slow and passionate kiss, y/n’s hands going up to her back to pull her impossibly closer. She tried deepening the kiss, but Alex pulled away, smiling against her lips.
“Say that again?” Alex whispered.
“I love you too.” Y/n smiled as she pulled Alex for another kiss.

“Life without parole.” Alex said as she walked into the room with the squad sitting at their respective desks, everyone looking at Alex.
“We knew you got this, Cabot.” Fin said as he offered a smile.
“Wait, so they didn’t buy the whole crap of being mentally ill?” Elliot grinned.
“His DNA was literally all over her and almost in every part of her apartment. There was no way they’d believe that he was mentally ill when he was fully conscious of what he had done. I defied him and he told me every little thing he did, and he looked proud of it. That was our win.” Alex grinned.
“And we gotta thank or M.E.’s for that.” Olivia said just as Melinda and y/n walked in, looking at everyone with confused looks.
“What happened?” Melinda looked at Alex confused.
“Life without parole. We got the bastard., and Olivia is right. I have to thank you both.” Alex grinned softly as she looked at y/n.
“You’re very much welcome. It wasn’t much. We just needed to test around 15 people to find a match.” Y/n shrugged as she joked.
“Ms. y/l/n complaining here because she was the one who tested them all.”
“Hey, I spent like 2 hrs there, It’s only fair that Ms. Cabot here thanks me.” Y/n smirked as she looked at Alex.
“As I said, thank you for your welcome.” Alex winked at her, turning to check that no one had noticed.
“Well, well. We also worked here, so, what do y’all say we go for some drinks? Melinda? Y/n? Alex, you promised you’d join us next time so it’s only fair you come with us tonight.” Fin got up and grabbed his coat, looking at the squad.
“I second, Fin. We all have to go.” Munch stood up too and grabbed his coat, putting it on.
Olivia looked at the girls and raised her brow. “C’mon, girls. A drink won’t hurt.”
Y/n looked at Alex who was already looking at her and they gave each other a small nod as if to confirm that they were okay with it. It wasn’t their first time joining the squad for drinks, they’ve done it a bunch of times before, but they always preferred to just go home and have their own little celebration in the comfort of their apartment, but tonight, they thought it was no harm to join them, they knew it would be fun and they could always leave after an hour or so. They all walked to the nearest bar that was not that crowded, and the rounds of drinks started. It was maybe the fact that they were laughing hard that they didn’t notice how many drinks they had so far, or maybe it was just them not minding the number of drinks they’d take that night, it could be anything at this point, but Alex definitely wasn’t counting her drinks.
After 2 hrs, y/n had ordered some water and coffee for them, wanting to sober up a bit -not that she didn’t like tipsy Alex, she actually thought she was really cute, and two or three more drinks and she turned into hot Alex, which…was her personal favorite-. She went ahead and picked up their drinks, putting them in front of Alex who looked at her with a confused face at first.
“So you sober up a bit.”
“Ah, c’mon, y/l/n!” Elliot laughed. “You’re no fun. Let Cabot loosen up a bit. Not like we’re drunk.”
“Yeah, y/n. It’s the first time in so long that Alex actually says yes to coming with us for drinks and you wanna stop her.” Melinda raised her brows as she looked at her.
Y/n rolled her eyes playfully as she looked at them. “I’m just looking out for you, you know?” She then looked at Olivia. “Liv? Back me up here?”
“Oh, c’mon, baby. Another drink or two are not gonna hurt me. I’ll drink the coffee after another drink, promise.”
“That’s what you always say, Lex, and then you whine about having another.” Y/n raised her brow at her as she grinned. But then her grin vanished as she looked around them.
At the same time, it seemed like Alex sobered up enough to realize what they had just said, doing the same as Y/n. “Uh. Maybe I should take my coffee now.” She grabbed the cup and took a sip of it.
Olivia raised her brows as she smirked. “Baby? Lex?”
“Is there something you guys wanna share with the group?” Melinda smirked.
Munch furrowed his brows as he looked at everyone. “Wait, you guys really didn’t know that they were dating? They’ve been dating for the last 2 years. I thought you guys were detectives.”
Everyone turned to look at Munch with surprised looks, Alex and y/n’s jaws dropped as they stared at Munch. They were so sure they had been careful enough to keep it private, but it seemed like they had failed.
“How did you know?” Y/n finally said after like 2 minutes of silence.
Munch huffed a chuckle. “If you guys wanted to keep it private, you should’ve avoided standing in front of the precinct and kissing.”
Alex laughed as she shook her head. “Guess it’s out now.” She looked at y/n and shrugged. “Told you sooner or later they’d find out.”
“I mean, Munch is not wrong. You are all detectives and couldn’t figure it out?” Y/n shook her head. “You should be ashamed of yourselves.”
“You gotta be kidding me! I was about to get you a date and you’ve been dating Alex for 2 years! Thought we were sisters.” Melinda snapped as she laughed.
“In my defense, it was never brought up. And yes, you’re like my big sister, so I apologize. But now that you guys know, yes. Alex is crazy for me.” Y/n wrapped her arm around Alex as she grinned.
Alex laughed as she shook her head. “Oh, says the one that was a bundle of nervousness whenever I was around.”
Y/n chuckled as she leaned in and kissed her lips, not caring about the squad anymore. No, they were not really trying to hide it, they simply decided the relationship was theirs and theirs only, so there was no need to display it to anyone else, but now that they all knew, they were more than happy to share it with them. Even though they knew the teasing would never end.

simon 'ghost' riley x reader headcanons
fully gender neutral + no descriptors because ghost is for the people. implied that reader is military tho. all lowercase bc im cool. wacky ass writing. no other warnings besides ghost being a deeply insecure individual
(literally just writing this bc i have the brainrot so bad i spent 95 hard earned canadian dollars on this stupid game im not even good at it its amazing i love it anyways enjoy u filthy animals)
- he's a dog guy. he secretly wishes he couldve had a stabler life so maybe he could have one or two. If you have a dog, he is ALL over it. will buy treats, toys, enrichment, literally anything and everything. he just wants to spoil the lil baby
- absolutely does not know how to cook, he can only use a microwave smh. if you can cook for him tho, he will absolutely get all heart eyed kickin his feet under ur dinner table twirling his hair round his finger he is in LOVE
- THAT BEING SAID!!!! he makes a bangin cup of tea. his fav is earl grey and he loves a good london fog, but with his line of work he just doesnt have the time. thats why every time he actually goes home, the first thing he does is make a proper cuppa.
- it's very difficult for him to trust anybody, much less fall in love, so when he falls he falls HARD. he'll go out of his way to do nice things for you. if you're out on a mission together and have some downtime he'll just grab your knives and sharpen them for you. He's already doing his own, why not yours too? He lovesss doing small acts like that for u. he knows a little kindness can go a long way.
- the same goes the other way around, if you do literally anything for him the man is SWOONING. he's about to head out but can't find something, and u pop outta nowhere to place it in his hands with a kiss on the cheek of his mask? he's planning a proposal as soon as hes out the door. he loves u. amazing.
- he knows he's a good looking guy, but before he shows you his face he's super scared about you not liking how he looks. He worries that he isn't your 'type' and once you see his face you'll get bored of him and move on to someone more entertaining like Soap or Alejandro
- He's not great at verbalizing his emotions, and tends to bottle things up. if he does it for long enough he'll get way too in his head and he'll start distancing himself from u (unintentionally). one day it gets to be too much and u just sit him down and make him tell u whats up
- he's just. not good at talking abt his feelings. his sentences have super long pauses where he overthinks everything he's saying. he's trying not to hurt your feelings if it's something relating to you, but sometimes that means he wont tell u the whole truth. but hes trying ok? he WANTS to communicate with you, he's just gotta learn how essentially from scratch.
- but man if ur able to break down his walls a little, and he can tell that you see him as a person and not just some mysterious puzzle to solve, he will go to the ends of the earth for u.
- he will devote a lot of his downtime to just being around you. he just likes your presence, hes the type of guy to want to sit in a room together and do your own things. he'll post up at a desk and look over the next mission's paperwork while you chill in a corner with a hobby of yours
if u made it this far hell yeah i hope u enjoyed, this is absolutely just self indulgent but i figured the world must be blessed as well. have a good one yall

You know what I'd love?
A fic where Barba and Stabler have to work together for Benson's sake on a case related to a William Lewis copycat.
Featuring:
-Barba asking the hard questions. "Where the hell were you when she was abducted? At every hostage situation she's been in? When they adopted Noah? When Noah was kidnapped? Every major moment of her life for the past decade, I've been right here and you couldn't even be bothered to send a post card. Have you even asked about the things she's been through since you've gone? Because I was here for all of it."
- The above conversation ends with Fin and Carasi having to stop Stabler from throwing a punch, but he knows Barba is right
- Amanda and/or longsuffering Fin shouts that this isn't helping shit and if neither of them can stop with the dick measuring then they can both get the hell out of the squadroom.
-At some point they have to have a heart to heart where Barba admits he's jealous because Olivia's never been able to let go of Stabler, Stabler is grateful that someone else tried to protect liv even if it wasn't how he would have done it.
-Alternate Barson and Bensler endings because at this point I'm having a hard time choosing so I'm going back to reading Rollisi because its so much simpler ugh

Casey Novak X Reader
Chapter 1
You had just been transferred as a detective to Manhattan’s SVU unit. After working for the FBI and as a lawyer for big corporations, I wanted to do something that would make a difference. It seemed the team had been there before your 9AM start. A tall, beautiful middle aged woman with shoulder hair and bronze skin was arguing with a man with short hair who looked upset, he was about the same age.
“We are going to need a warrant for this….if we can get a man for the steakout.” The man shouted, his hands thrown in the air.
“Perhaps I can help, I’m your new detective. What have we got?”
The woman stepped forward and you made a face at each other. You had a one night stand with her eons ago. You hoped your face did not show that.”
“I’m detective Olivia Benson, this is Detective Elliot Stabler” I shook both their hands.
“Nice to meet you, we need a man in this house until we can get that warrant. Our ADA, Novak, is a bit busy right now.”
“I’d love to. Give me the address and I will steak it out” Olivia looked at you up and down admiring your more formal outfit of a waistcoat and tie. You weren’t out to any of your departments, even though your sexuality was probably obvious with the ties.
………………………………………………………….
Hours went by at the address when Olivia called you. You had been reading files on your new precinct to gain information on your new colleagues. Your chest rose and your heart skipped a beat. You had wanted to be friends with her but had been so busy and did not want it to be unprofessional.
“Hello there”
“Hey it’s Olivia”
“Hey, yes, I know the work phone had everyone’s name in it. Can I help you with something?”
“We need fresh eyes on this work in order to get a warrant. Please come back to the station, a beat cop will replace your lookout.”
As you drove back, you kept looking at street signs, this is what real cops did but you knew your FBI trained brain could help the team and you were eager to prove yourself.
You walked into the bullpen with everyone looking at the board, including a new redhead.
“Any progress?” You asked
“We need to see if this is the same MO. If it is the damn Feds will get this case.” Elliot remarked
Olivia looked surprised at him, “She was a Fed before this, Elliot.”
“I understand your anger, the reason why the Feds step in is because for every case a great like yours has, there are a dozen horrible ones that but a dark mark on our jobs. Now, what comparisons do we have?”
The redhead stepped forward “These scars he leaves plus the ropes he ties them with, we also should look at the type of woman he gets, great tie, but the way.” She remarked in a deep, raspy voice.
“Thank you, and you are?”
She stuck out her hand, “Casey Novak, ADA.”
“Well nice to meet you Ms. Novak,” You said, shaking her hand
“Please, call me Casey” You smiled at each other. You turned back to the board only to see Olivia uncomfortable.
Stabler explained more of these things for you.
“I reckon it’s a copycat. The way the blade is dragged is in a different direction, like the original was left handed and this guy is right handed. The women are different two, this time there was no connection between them and last time there was and not just a physical one. I’m calling a copycat. Casey, let me know if the Feds try to take this, perhaps they will listen to one of their own.”
“One of their own?” Oliva asked.
“Yes, I was in the FBI for two years,”
“Well, I will try to get this warrant. If the evidence is just circumstantial they we have a problem, but 5 now 6 accounts is enough.”
“Is the perp left handed”
“Yes, honey, why don't you come with us to see what you can find during the raid?” Olivia asked, I nodded.
I drove with Olivia which started our silent then she asked, “ Did you tell anyone?”
“There’s nothing to tell.”
“Do they know?”
“Know what?” I enquired.
“Do they know…about you?” I held my breath for a minute. Since Olivia did not seem out to everyone, I figured I could confide in her.
“No, I never talk about these things, especially at work.”
“Me neither,”
There was a long silence then but you did admire the woman and had to tell her.
“I did think you were really cool and thought we would be good friends, if that’s possible after…everything we did together.”
“Considering we are partners, I wouldn't mind that,” She remarked with a smile and caressed your knee.
“Do people even date in the department? I should get back out there but was only planning on doing so outside of work,”
“Not sure,” Live replied before we got a passage on the radio. She sped up the 4 or so miles to the perps house.
They were arresting him and we put on gloves and began to roam the house. I began searching the whole house, trying to find Casey, I wanted to learn more about her. A young, bright attorney, we had a lot in common. I came back down toward the front when Olivia asked me for advice, that I advised and did the same for Stabler. I went back to Oliva and asked if anyone had seen Casey, louder than expected and she laughed and motioned to herself.
“You wanted to see me?”
“Just to see if you needed help, seems like you lead these things,”
“Ha! No it's more symbiotic, we get what we need, perhaps I’m the more needy one. You sure that was the only reason,” She enquired, you stuttered a bit.
“I wondered if you wanted to hang out, as I also have a background in law,”
“I thought you worked for the FBI,”
“I have done both, though, thought I worked with the bad guys before, helped big corporations screw other big corporations,”
Casey nodded. “Sure, I’d love to,”
……………………………………………………………………………………….
Our suspected perp had gone to a gay club or sorts. You held your breath when they mentioned the event as you had been there. Your team would find out. Olivia seemed to notice your fear because she took you aside into the overtime bedroom.
“Everything ok?”
“Um, yeah, how about you?”
“You can’t like to me hon, you have been there, haven’t you?”
You were about to nod, as only Olivia knew your secret, then Casey came in, quite intensely.
“We’re talking, Case,” Olvia exclaimed in a serious voice.
“I need to talk to our newest detective, alone preferably”
“It’s fine, what is it Casey?”
“Why did you tell us you were at the Swinging Scissor event?”
You blushed and stood up, your arms crossed over your chest.
“It’s none of your business,”
“Well I got the footage and looked over it before anyone else did so the rest of the team will know,”
You felt so weak, like you were made of lead. Casey crossed over to you and sat on the bed.
“Olivia please give us a minute,” She looked at me and I nodded for her to leave as it was just Casey and you.
You felt like you were going to cry. Casey looked conflicted. “I’ve always wanted to go to an event like this, I haven’t been to something similar in over a decade. You know I swing both ways, right?”
You looked at the redhead before looking down. “The less people know about me, the better, why can’t someone else do this?”
“Because you have experience in this field. Hell, even long term undercover FBI agents are chosen based on what they know about the context of each assignment,”
You turned away from Casey and put your hands on your face, leaning against the wall. Casey came up behind you and gently stroked your arm. You turned to the redhead and gently nodded.
……………………………………………………………………….
You felt tired as everything was explained, especially that you were at this event and would be a main part in the operation. You felt Liv staring at you even when you weren’t talking. The operation would take place in two days with that everyone left for the day, you first rushing out the door.
That night, you tossed and turned in bed. You had a dream about Olivia and not the kosher kind. She was beautiful, especially when you met her and made love to her. You woke up an hour and a half early, feeling unfulfilled and worked out to distract you.
You had your head in the clouds as you walked into the building when Casey came up behind you.
“Huh,” you muttered as your head came back down to earth. You had been thinking about your experience with Olivia all those years ago but now you needed your head in the game, not in your bed.
“We need to get your undercover outfit, it’s the best part of being undercover, so I’m told!” She beamed, the redhead seemed more excited about this that you did.
“Forgive my lack of enthusiasm, my coffee has yet to kick in. I’m glad you are excited for me,” you replied, striding over to your desk.
“I’m not just excited for me , I am excited for us! I was willing to go undercover as well. Most of the other women didn’t want to!”
“Way to go for lesbian stereotypes, I figured most of the women here were gay….until I found out most had boyfriends,” I sat down at the desk to check my emails.
“They could swing both ways,” Casey replied leaning over your desk, her hair swooped down, eyes on your, close to your face. You made your breath not hitch and raised an eyebrow.
“Let’s go look at those clothes, Case,”
…………………………………………………………….
As Cragen listed out everything that would happen. You felt Casey’s eyes on you and Olivia’s less so but hers had concern. There would be two extra cops there with Cragen and a few others with Stabler in a truck down the street. You would be given sunglasses with a camera and would drink milk and fatty food beforehand so if someone bought you a drink, it would not affect you much.
It was your job to give information on this event to everyone, which you weren’t fond of. “The event will be loud so only vision will be important. There are different balconies so I can see everyone, but I need to make it not look suspicious.” You saw Casey smirk, her arms crossed as she looked down. “Once I see the perp, I will briefly cover the camera. It will be hard to see and focus but you must follow her. Novak and I will leave roughly 30 minutes after, looking….frisky so that we have an excuse to leave. I reckon there will be security on the perp’s behalf so it’s important Casey and I look normal,”
“Perhaps you and I should go for a drink after this, to get to know each other a bit. You seem nervous that we won’t mesh,”
“Fine, I just want to make sure that this does not look like an operation from the perp’s perspective. This one especially knows police tactics.”
With that everyone dispersed to get ready for tomorrow evening. You spent the rest of the day researching the perp and staring at the blueprints of the place. One in particular when Casey came up to you. Despite the day being slow, you had spaced out.
“What a sexy blueprint!” She exclaimed. “Indeed,” you said haphazardly. “So you agree that that blueprint is sexy and it’s why you’ve been staring at it for 15 minutes. “What!” You say as you get up to get some water.
“I’m just teasing you, wanna go for that drink, it’s almost 5,” You looked at the computer, the clock read 4:32. “Not exactly 5 Casey,” “Close enough, technically this is a work thing to prepare us for tomorrow,” She said, shaking her shoulders. “You know, it'll look like I’m talking to you but I will be talking to the earpiece,” “So I’m just a body for you, or in the case of this mission, just a hot piece of ass.”
Your eyes bulged and you shook your head. “Such a feminist,” She walked over to you and crossed her arms, “Feminism is about choice,”
“Yes well, let’s continue this conversation elsewhere as I’m bored,” “Ah, I’m boring you, I see,”
“Not you, Casey, the work. Come on, let’s go have that drink!”

Aziraphale’s Want Vs Need
Hello I must once more dive into Aziraphale’s character, because he’s such a complex case and I love it. I feel him on such a deep level, and I don’t want his character summed up as “an idiot, currently, for doing a dumb thing.” Crowley can absolutely feel that right now, but we’ve got the benefit of watching from a little farther away.
It is want, verses need, okay? Oldest story arc in the book.
And what Aziraphale wants (not knowing what he needs yet) is for things to finally be easy.
From the beginning, Aziraphale has not had things go easy. Neither has Crowley, but in a different way. For Aziraphale, he has been trained for his whole life to view God and Heaven as good, above all. And until he met Crowley, he’s never really had to challenge that belief. Even if he might’ve had some thoughts himself, he’s never said or heard anyone say them out loud.
And then here’s Crowley, a fellow angel, unashamedly pointing out the flaws in God and Heaven’s logic. From the moment Crowley first started asking questions, Aziraphale was there with a worried expression, pumping the breaks, trying to shave the edges off of Crowley’s defiance for fear of someone overhearing. Crowley has had it rough on the outside—no question, much rougher than Aziraphale—but he’s never been the person to censor himself, or to deny how he feels. That’s what lead to his fall, but it’s also what made him much surer of himself, much stabler, much less stressed about his own morality. He’s got it down pat. Even as a demon, he’s not bothered about breaking the “evil” rules—he’s worried about consequences, and doesn’t like being called nice, but he’s never battling with himself. He knows who he is. And he never has to feel guilt about rejecting his side, because his side is (mostly) awful. It’s Hell. No one is supposed to like Hell, that’s it’s primary function, to be hated. If he breaks a rule, he’s met with punishment, but he’s never punished inwardly.
On the other hand, Aziraphale has been trained to view any defiance of Heaven’s methods as sinful and wrong. There’s no wiggle room – you either agree, or you’re not an angel. And yet, he is faced, again and again, with examples of Heaven’s decisions being cruel, unjust, contradictory, uninformed, and just plain hypocritical. And every time, he’s forced to make that justification—it’s all ineffable, and he’s just not at the level at which he can understand. And any time he makes a decision that contradicts Heaven—the sword, the children of Job—another stone of guilt is added to his load, because even if he instinctually feels it’s the right thing, he’ll have that lifetime of training screaming in his ear, “No, you idiot, you traitor, there was a reason this was done, and you’ve ruined it.” Nothing is easy. No matter what he does, it’s never easy. His guilt comes from so many sides, but it’s all cumulative. All he feels is that ever-present weight, and he’s felt it from the moment Crowley introduced him to the concept of doubt.
So, when he’s offered the job in Heaven—to be the one making the rules, the one who can decide what is good—it’s the first time, ever, that things simplify in his head. With him at the helm, “good” can actually mean “good.” No more uncomfortable contradictions, where killing children is somehow both evil and God’s will. His logic will be sound; it will withstand scrutiny. He will allow questions because he’ll have answers, and if he doesn’t, he’ll learn the best answers. Finally, things are making sense. Things are becoming easy.
And Crowley…ah, Crowley. The biggest contradiction. A demon who is simultaneously sin embodied and the purest source of good in Aziraphale’s life. A person he should hate, but instead loves. That, too, can be made easy. He can make Crowley an angel again—he can restore Crowley to his true form. And there’s nothing complicated about working with, but most importantly loving another angel. It is, finally, how it should be. It will be so, so easy. No more guilt. No more weight.
And so, what Aziraphale thinks he wants is for things to be “easy.” But that’s not what he needs. Because in his vision, “easy” simply means “being myself while still pacifying Heaven.” And unfortunately for Aziraphale, this is just not possible. He’s chronically attaching his own morals to a corporation that lacks any scrap of it, but who simply has a God-level PR firm. It’s as oil and water as you can get, but Aziraphale keeps stirring. And unfortunately, he’s idealistic enough to fall for one more lie, because he craves the easy existence he never got—not one free of work, but free of mental burden as an angel of God.
This is still possible. This easing of the mental burden. But it won’t come from an easy solution. He doesn’t need things to be easy in the life he’s always known—he needs to unhitch himself from the life that’s made things hard. He needs to let go of any lingering hope that Heaven and God have something up their sleeve. He needs to fall.
Perhaps he won’t fall completely, or technically—there will probably be some lost paperwork that means he can keep the keycard into Heaven—but he will absolutely have to “fall” from his mental title of “Angel of Heaven, as it currently is, and of God, as She currently paints herself.” He tried being both himself and this impossible paradox of “Angel Who Does Evil That Is Somehow Good(?)”, and he’s failed. He will always fail.
Consequently, he also needs to do the one thing he’s both very good and very bad at doing. He needs to trust Crowley.
And he finds it oh so easy to trust Crowley when the decisions are simply regarding his own life. He trusts that Crowley will come to his rescue seconds before death. He trusts Crowley, a person who’s not held a gun in his life, to shoot him in the face. But the moment it comes to Heaven, Aziraphale shuts down. Because Heaven has done a very good job at selling itself as the most important thing in the universe. Of course Aziraphale would see his own life unimportant compared to Heaven. It’s what he’s learned.
But now, after 6000 years of proof that Heaven is not some all-knowing place that “does the right thing, in a way you just can’t understand,” Aziraphale needs to trust the person who’d clocked it from the start. Even if Crowley isn’t always right—he’ll always need that pull from Aziraphale to land on the best patch of middle ground—Crowley is still forever pointing in the right direction.
The final step to Crowley won’t be an easy one. It’s a mental step much bigger, much tougher than Crowley ever had to make. His fall was due to a simple question. A slip of paper in a suggestion box. There wasn’t this threat of losing angel status, of being cast into flame; he never even thought the punishment existed. It wasn’t a question of renouncing Heaven and their corrupted concept of “good” entirely. And Aziraphale has had many more years of brainwashing, gaslighting, and fear making this final step as hard as possible. But once there, Aziraphale’s mind will clear. For the first time in 6000 years, the shouting will disappear, the stones will lift, and the tension will slacken. Things will be easy.

law and order characters and their kinks [headcanons]
Tumblr media
Elliot Stabler: - Breeding (is this even questionable? mans has like 6 or 7 kids. i've lost count) - *possibly* a switch but that might be more related to chris himself JDFKSJFSD like the vibes i get from him and his wife irl (but anyways) - orgasm control (i just get this vibe. maybe it was that shower scene from season one of organized crime. either way, he's an edgy dude)
Tumblr media
Rafael Barba: - Breeding (maybe i'm applying this to every character because of a personal correlation but oh well) - Office Sex (this mans would have sex in his chambers. no question about it. look at the way he's rolling his sleeves up in that) - BDSM (nothing too extreme but definitely cuffs, belts, and rope) - Praise - Impact Play - Cuban Dirty Talk (te amo = i love you, eres cochina = dirty girl, quiero comerte = i want to eat you out)
Tumblr media
Nick Amaro: - Breeding (i'm so sorry y'all, i just can't help it. look at those eyes) - Age Play (not in an extreme level but like, he likes being called daddy absolutely) - Dirty Talk (you're so fucking hot, you're so sexy, i want you so bad, you're driving me crazy, etc.) - Office Sex (which might be hard in a precinct but you can make it work) ngl it's hard for me to imagine extreme things because of him being catholic,, i mean most of the characters are,, but he seems kind of vanilla but probably does have some turn-ons
Tumblr media
Malachi: - first off, i'm in love with this man (well i'm in love with barba and elliot, too) but like fr fr /hj - BDSM (he may seem oblivious to it but mans is definitely kinky. he's a hacker so he's seen things) - breeding (never gonna stop saying breeding clearly) - sadist (slightly) but tbh,, he seems so caring and gentle, so he's hard to imagine too but like,, yeah
Tumblr media
Joe Velasco: - Dirty Talk (mix of english and spanish) - Breeding (i'm so sorry y'all... i can imagine what some of the comments are gonna be but i just can't help it ksjfksjfdsf) - BDSM - voyeurism (with s/o)

So everyone else seems to be bolstered in their Buddie hope after this episode, but am I the only one that's getting a sinking feeling instead?
On one hand, yes, the repressed catholic guilt for Eddie makes me optimistic--and was I understanding Maddie's hint about Eddie correctly or was I crazy?--but everything else read to me as ABC beginning to--maybe not solidfy Buck and Eddie as only friends, but at least pump the breaks on Buddie.
I get letting them grow and learn more about themselves in separate relationships first, but Eddie's genuine, physical attraction to Marisol? Going back to the beginning of their relationship so ABC can undo how Fox just kind of through them together like usual right before the season finale and they can actually show the development of this relationship that's existed for months now but we weren't able to see? Paralleling this with Buck and Tommy who want to get to know each other better? Buck and Eddie's shorter, more bro-style interactions vs the softer more intimate interactions we were used to seeing in Buck's kitchen? The hug and "call Tommy," was all just so quick and platonic😭.
I'm not saying they'll never go there, I'm just saying I'm not so confident that if it does happen, we'll see it confirmed in the next few years.
Anyone else know the story of Benson and Stabler on SVU? They were always partners/ best friends/ride-or-dies/more-than-friends/soulmates, but Stabler was Catholic, married and had up to 5 kids. Everyone and their mother knew those two were meant to be, but their timing just never worked out. In their first 12 years before Chris(Stabler) left the show though, they hugged like a total of 3 times, never once said "I love you" or ever crossed the line physically. Okay? You with me? And yet, there was so much chemistry and love shown between them, that they were undeniable.
Cut forward 10 years, and Stabler gets his own spinoff and is brought back into Benson's life. 22 YEARS in the making. In his first season back, his wife was killed, he told her "I love you" and this giant, unspoken thing between them was actually fucking acknowledged by their characters in the show. In one season, they advanced these twos' personal relationship more than the previous 22 years put together.
But then.... nothing happened. I mean small things here and there between the two shows, an almost kiss, them admitting they want each other. But still, three years later and they still aren't together. And now we're at 25 years, for what has to be the slowest slow burn in the history of like, everything.
All this to say, I'm really afraid that ABC and Tim Minear are only coming out swinging so hard in an effort to hook existing fans and gain their loyalty. But then, it's going to go back to doing what any other major television company does, and it's going to fall back into drawing it out as long as possible. Because yeah, the show is on season 7, but if ABC wants it to go another 7 for themselves, they can't just rush and give us what we want in the first one or two seasons, that wouldn't be a good financial strategy for them. I really don't think they'll do it that way.
ABC gave us bi Buck and they can't ever take that away, but will they trap us with that bait, and be content with making everyone halfway happy to avoid taking too many more risks so soon or ever? Yeah, I really think they're not above that.
I feel like we're already falling back into the patented responses from cast and crew that "you never know" or "anything can happen" or "nothing is set in stone", so that's not making me feel great.
Don't get me wrong, I would be so happy to admit I'm wrong if it doesn't go the way I think it will, but I don't think I can live episode-to-episode for another 7 years living off scraps of Buddie interactions and subtext😭😭 I'd rather they just go the "brother" route so I can get closure and focus on fanfiction instead. The will they/won't they and overanalyslzing every single second looking for a hint of something sexual or romantic between them will be the death of me, because at the end of the day, it'll mean whatever ABC will want it to mean😭
Most of yall probably won't even read this, but I had to get my anxiety out, lmao😅

Love is Never Easy
Tumblr media
Pairing: Elliot Stabler x Wife!Reader
Summary: Elliot's temper and anger issues force a wedge between the two of you. You ask for a separation in the hopes that it pushes him to get the help he needs.
Warnings: Separation and talks of divorce. Cursing. Use of pet names. SMUT, unprotected sex (P in V), not super descriptive...this is about love making and connection.
"That tension in your jaw? Your vein pulsing in your forehead? The way you clench your hands into tight fists? It's rage, Elliot. Pure, intense rage."
"How the hell would you know how I'm feeling, huh? Are you psychic now?" he yelled.
"I can read the cues, Elliot. And I know you, better than anyone else. If you keep bottling it up, eventually you're going to explode. God only knows who you'll take with you when you do."
"How many times do I have to tell you I'm fine?!"
"It doesn't matter how many times you say it!" you yelled back. "A blind man can see you're not okay."
"You think because you're a shrink you know everything?"
"When it comes to you, I'm your wife, not a shrink. But I can't turn it off, Elliot. You need help."
"Screw you, (Y/N)."
He started to walk out the door and you felt your heart clench in your chest. You knew if he left, there was a good chance something terrible would happen.
"Just answer one question," you begged, stopping him in his tracks. "How many times have you thought about eating your gun?"
For the first time since the argument had begun, Elliot was speechless. You had never asked him that before and he didn't know how to answer you. He didn't know how to tell you that he thought about it all the time. He didn't know how to tell you that he'd almost made you a widow more times than he could count.
Even when he wasn't thinking about killing himself, he was making decisions that put him in danger...way beyond the typical line of duty scenarios. He put himself in harm's way so often it had almost become second nature. He tried never to think about you getting a knock on the door...his partner and his captain telling you he was gone.
If he thought about those things, then he couldn't be reckless. He couldn't make those poor choices. As it stood, those choices were already killing him inside. He'd pulled away from you long before you'd put the separation on the table. What was the point in hurting you more than he already had?
"Suicide's a sin," he mumbled.
"This isn't about religion. This is about you and the choices you make."
When he turned to look at you, his eyes were haunted--filled with a pain so deep you couldn't begin to comprehend it. You took a step towards him, desperate not to lose him. "Talk to me, Elliot. Just talk to me."
His heart ached hearing you plead like that. It wasn't in your nature to beg, and here you were begging for the second time in less than a minute. "What do you want me to say?"
"The truth," you pleaded.
To your surprise, he turned around, shutting the door behind him. He leaned against the wall and ran his fingers over his face, emotion covering every inch of it. "You don't just wanna leave and get this over with?"
"Is that really what you want me to do? Do you I believe I think so little of our marriage?"
"No," he whispered, almost inaudibly.
"Then for once, Elliot, please. Just be honest with me."
He stared at the floor for several moments before deciding to answer you, eyes never leaving the ground. "I think about it all the time, but I'm more inclined to be reckless than I am to eat my own gun."
You were taken aback by his words. You hadn't really expected him to be honest with you and you certainly hadn't expected him to give you that answer.
"Do you want to fix this?" you asked softly, unsure if you really wanted the answer.
He finally looked up at you. "I don't wanna lose you."
"Then get help."
**********
It had been six long months since you'd begged Elliot to get help. Six months since you'd told him you wanted to separate. Six months since you'd taken the kids and moved in with your sister.
You only saw Elliot on weekends when he came to pick up the kids, and even then it was only briefly. The only news you ever got about him came from Olivia when she would call you to give you an update.
You'd never wanted to split up...never wanted a divorce...never wanted to lose him. But you had to protect yourself and your kids. Plus, you wanted to shock him into getting help. Asking for a separation was the only thing you could think of to push him into finally talking to someone.
You had no idea if he was going to therapy or not. He'd never told you and you didn't ask. For the first time in 15 years, you felt like it wasn't your place to pry. If he wanted to open up to you, then he would do it on his own.
You were sitting at your desk, thinking about the past, remembering things you'd long since forgotten. Most of your memories with Elliot were good, but this wasn't a happy trip down memory lane.
You remembered when you got pregnant with your first child. Elliot had just joined the NYPD and you were settling into your new job with the FBI as a forensic psychiatrist.
When Elliot found out you were pregnant, he was thrilled...but as the days went on, his mood shifted. You started to worry about whether he actually wanted this baby or not, a concern you'd never had before.
One day, you finally gathered the courage to ask him what was going on. "El...do you not want this baby?" you'd whispered.
He'd been shocked. "Of course I do, doll! You know I've always wanted a family, especially with you."
"Then why don't you seem happy?"
He'd grabbed your hand and squeezed it tightly. A look of sadness had crossed over his features and he whispered his biggest fear aloud for only you and God to hear, "What if I'm like my dad?"
You knew his past. You knew how his father had treated him. What was worse was you knew exactly how badly it had damaged him. But you also knew him.
"If I know anything for certain, I know this," you began. You gently lifted his chin so he was looking into your eyes. "You are not your father. You are kind, loving, and gentle...and I know you're going to treat this baby as reverently as you treat me."
The memory almost hurt to think about now. You hadn't been wrong...Elliot was nothing like his father, but he'd carried that hurt with him for almost 40 years. It affected him in ways even he didn't want to admit.
You sighed loudly, trying to will the memory away. You didn't want to think about it anymore.
"Am I interrupting?"
You looked up with a smile. "Never. What's up?"
Your partner and close friend, George Huang, entered your office. "I heard the dramatic sigh. You okay?"
You shrugged. "Taking a trip down memory lane. It's nothing."
He gave you a look that said he wasn't at all convinced, but he didn't pry. "How are the kids?"
"They're all doing really well, considering. The twins keep asking when daddy is coming home."
He nodded his understanding. "And how is Elliot?"
"You'd know better than me. You're the one that sees him all the time."
"Only because you refuse to go to the precinct."
"It would be awkward and you know it."
He sighed. "Do you want my opinion?"
You groaned. "Professional or friend?"
"A little of both."
"Fine--go on."
He sat down in the chair closest to your desk. "He's different, (Y/N/N). Anyone can see that he's trying and the whole squad has noticed it, myself included. As your friend, I really think you should talk to him."
"What if he doesn't wanna talk to me?"
Huang gave you a look that said it all. "If you don't know how much that man loves you, then you're an idiot." He held up his hand to stop your protest. "And I know you're not an idiot. Talk to him, (Y/N/N). He needs you."
He got up and left your office without another word, leaving you to sit there and think about what you were gonna do next.
**********
It took a couple weeks, but you finally decided to take Huang's advice. You'd called Elliot and asked him to meet you for dinner at a little diner near the office.
You arrived about 10 minutes early and to your surprise, Elliot had already gotten a table and was waiting for you. It was very unlike him to be on time...let alone early.
He stood up when he saw you walk in, but when you reached the table, it became evident he didn't know what to do.
"Can I hug you?" he asked softly.
You nodded and offered him a small smile. He pulled you against him tightly and held on, as if he was terrified of letting go.
You pulled away and gestured for him to sit back down. You slid into the booth across from him and began to study him. You knew you shouldn't...but you wanted--needed--to know where his head was.
He actually looked shockingly good, better than he had in a long time. His eyes were clear and bright, and the bags that had once lingered under them were gone. He was clean shaven and his hair had recently been trimmed. All in all, he looked healthy and perhaps even happy.
"You look good," you commented softly.
"So do you."
You knew for a fact you did not look good...but you appreciated the lie. Being apart from him for so long had really taken its toll on you, as had taking care of the kids by yourself. You were tired, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
You looked down at the clothes you were wearing and felt a twinge of embarrassment. Your shirt was more wrinkled than you would have liked and you were pretty sure you'd accidentally gotten bleach on your black pants, as evidenced by the odd reddish stain you hadn't noticed that morning. You'd come straight to the diner from work, so you hadn't had time to change.
"I look like I slept on a park bench last night," you grumbled as you tried to smooth down your shirt.
Elliot chuckled, the sound clear and crisp. "You look as beautiful as the day I met you...cheesy as that may sound."
You blushed. "It ranks up there with cheesiest comments you've ever made."
He smiled. "It's nice to see you, (Y/N)," he said softly. "I mean really see you."
You simply nodded. You weren't quite ready to talk about the separation yet. "How have you been?"
He sighed, noting your subtle avoidance. "It was hard at first--really damn hard--but I'm actually doing pretty well now." He paused. "I, uh--I started seeing a therapist."
Your face lit up in surprise. You hadn't expected him to be honest with you so quickly. "Really? That's great."
"Yeah, it's actually been surprisingly helpful. I feel like I've broken down a lot of those barriers I had up, ya know? It was awful at first, but once I started talking, it was like I couldn't stop. For a while there, I was going twice a week. Now I'm down to biweekly and the doc says I'll probably be able to go to once a month soon."
You felt a little jolt of pride warm your chest. You were proud of him for owning his issues and for working to make himself better. All you ever wanted was for him to start to heal...if he couldn't talk to you, then he might as well talk to someone who could help him.
"George mentioned you'd been going to therapy. He said you were doing really well."
His expression soured slightly. "Huang told you?"
"He is my partner, you know." You sighed. "If it makes you feel better, he only told me a couple weeks ago."
"It's not that I didn't want you to know or anything...I just kinda wanted to be the one to tell you."
"When were you planning on telling me, El?"
"I don't know...I figured I'd just mention it when I picked up or dropped off the kids."
"You've been going to therapy for how long?"
"Almost 7 months."
"I'm proud of you, Elliot, I really am. But I wish you would have told me sooner."
"I'm sorry."
Your eyes widened slightly. "I...I can't remember the last time you apologized to me for something."
He looked down at the table. "I know. It's one of things we've been working on."
"I appreciate your apology," you whispered. "It's just--If I'd known about the therapy, I probably would have arranged this meeting sooner."
"Really?"
He seemed genuinely surprised and it broke your heart a little. "I missed you, El. Every single moment of every day for the last 7 months."
His eyes widened in surprise. "I--I didn't know."
A look of hurt flashed across your face.
"I just figured you wanted to get away from me," he said quickly. "I mean, you're the one who asked for the separation."
You reached across the table and grabbed his hand. "I never intended to hurt you, Elliot. I just wanted you to get the help you needed. I..." you sighed. "I missed the man I love, the man I married, the wonderful loving husband and father...I just wanted him back."
He squeezed your hand. "I didn't even realize how far away I'd gotten from the person I was, but when I did, it was too late. You'd already pulled away and then we had that big fight and that was it...you moved out and I had to try and piece my life back together."
You swallowed thickly. "Something needed to get your attention, Elliot. My words weren't enough. I asked for the separation because I thought it would force you to get help. I never intended to take it any farther than that."
He lifted your hand to his lips and kissed it gently. "I know," he whispered against your skin. "I think it saved me, (Y/N)--I really do."
"I'm glad, El. I really am." I just hope it saves us.
As if he read your mind, he spoke your thought into existence, "I hope it's enough to save us, baby. I still love you more than anything in this life."
Your heart skipped a beat just like it used to when you were young and madly in love with the man sitting across from you. "Nothing's changed for me. I love you more now than I ever have."
"Even after everything I've done? Everything I've said? All those times I let my temper get the best of me?"
"Even after all of that."
"I'm not sure I deserve it."
"You have my love and my forgiveness, Elliot. They're mine to give and I give them to you freely," you said gently. "It may surprise you, but I always knew why your temper was so intense, why you'd fly off the handle at the smallest thing...but you never wanted to open up to me, so I couldn't help you. I did the only thing I could think of to help you help yourself."
"I'll be forever grateful, (Y/N)."
"Me too."
He looked at you quizzically, so you elaborated.
"I'm grateful for your strength, your perseverance...for your willingness to change. And I will always be grateful for your love."
"It means a lot to me, (Y/N/N)."
"I always had faith in you, El."
He smiled, but the expression didn't quite reach his eyes. There was something more...something that was clearly bothering him.
Much to your surprise, you didn't have to prod him for answers. "What about us, (Y/N)?"
"I always hoped the separation would be temporary."
"We were broken long before the separation, doll. As much as I don't want to admit it, it's the truth."
A look of sadness crossed your face. "I know."
"Can we fix it?" he asked so softly you almost didn't hear him.
"I'll never stop trying," you whispered back. "I'm not ready to give up on us, Elliot."
"Neither am I. I never wanna lose you," he admitted. "I'll do whatever it takes to fix this."
"I think this is a good start," you responded softly.
"Forgiveness," he said simply. "Forgive ourselves and each other."
You nodded. "Forgiveness."
The two of you spent several hours at the diner--talking, eating, laughing, even crying. It felt good to be with each other like this...to hash out so many things that needed to be said, deal with all the things that needed to be handled.
Before you knew it, your watch read 10pm. You hadn't even realized you'd been siting there for so long. "Shit, it's 10! The kids will probably already be in bed."
Elliot looked at his watch in surprise. "I didn't even realize it was so late. Stay here--I'll go pay the bill and then I'll walk you out."
A few minutes later, he came back to the table to get you.
"Where'd you park?"
"I took the subway, actually."
"Oh, um...can I at least drive you home? Or if you don't want me to do that, I can call you a cab--"
"I would love if you took me home," you said, cutting him off.
He seemed relieved. He hated the idea of you being out late at night, completely alone. He couldn't guarantee you'd be safe in a cab anymore than the subway. "My car's this way."
He started walking down the sidewalk and you fell in step beside him. It was a chilly evening and you'd been completely unprepared for the drop in temperature. After a few minutes, you started to shiver, the cold cutting right through your thin shirt.
Elliot took notice immediately. "Take my jacket, baby. It's cold." He started to shrug it off and before you could protest, he cut you off. "You're freezing, so take the jacket. No fuss."
You accepted it gratefully, the warmth flooding your body the moment you put it on. "Thank you," you said softly.
"You're welcome."
As you continued to walk, his scent washed over you with every breath you took. His jacket smelled like him and it enveloped you in a warm cocoon of Elliot. His scent was even more intoxicating than you were used to, perhaps because you hadn't smelled it in so long.
You tentatively brushed your hand against his, gauging his reaction to the touch. Unlike you, he didn't hesitate--he intertwined his fingers with yours in such a familiar way, it almost made you cry. You hadn't realized how much you'd missed this...all those little things the two of you stopped doing ages ago. All the little ways you showed love or affection had seemingly died off, but what scared you most was that you hadn't really noticed.
"When did we stop touching each other?" you whispered aloud.
"What?"
You hadn't even realized you'd said anything out loud until he spoke. "Oh--I was umm...I was just wondering when we stopped being affectionate? I--well, I don't remember the last time we held hands."
His eyes darkened with sorrow. "Neither do I. I can't pinpoint an exact moment--all I know is that I missed this. So much."
"I missed you," you whispered. "In all the ways you can miss someone."
You'd just reached his car when you stopped talking. Elliot opened the door for you, but you didn't get in. He'd always been good at reading you, just as you were good at reading him. Years of loving someone will do that to you.
He took a step towards you so his body was mere inches away from yours. You looked up at him and your breath caught in your chest. As you stood there feeling like a love-struck teenager, all you could think was please kiss me.
As if Elliot heard your thoughts, he leaned into you and pressed his lips to yours with a tenderness you'd long since forgotten. Your hands rested on his hips and you pulled him closer to you, desperate to feel his warmth.
The tenderness quickly turned to something darker, something more primal. You needed him--and he needed you--like a drowning man needs oxygen. He was your drug of choice, always had been, and you knew you'd never be able to quit him.
Elliot pressed his body up against yours, leaning you back against the frame of the car. He held onto you, lips parting to deepen the kiss.
You needed to breathe and you suspected he did too, but in that moment, nothing else mattered. It was you and him, locked in a passionate embrace you never wanted to end.
But it had to end eventually--the survival instinct kicked in and you pulled away from each other, completely breathless. You both sucked in air desperately as he leaned his forehead against yours.
"Baby..." he whispered.
"Take me home," you begged.
He pulled away instantly, a look of hurt crossing his handsome face. "I'm sorry, (Y/N/N), I didn't mean to--I shouldn't have--"
You grabbed him and tugged him to you so you could kiss him again. When you let him go, he stared at you in stunned silence. "Take me home, Elliot. Please."
He started to smile as the realization crossed his face. He'd thought you were asking him to take you to your sister's...not home. "You've got it, doll."
You smiled warmly as he helped you into the car before practically running to the driver's side. You chuckled lightly, his haste making you roll your eyes affectionately.
As soon as he was in the car, he was off--speed limit be damned.
"Babe, if you wreck this car, I swear..."
He laughed. "I won't, I promise. I just need to get my girl home, okay? She asked so nicely."
You chuckled again. You couldn't remember the last time you felt this way--like a giddy schoolgirl or a horny teenager. As opposed as you were to breaking traffic laws, you decided to let it slide this time--the need to get home as soon as possible was really all you could think about.
In what had to be record-breaking time, Elliot pulled into the driveway of the home the two of you had shared together for almost 10 years. You hadn't been inside in months, but right now there was only one room you cared to see.
Elliot didn't even make it around the front of the car before you were closing your door and making your way to the house. He chuckled lightly as he ran after you, arms snaking around your waist to you pull you back against his chest.
"What's the rush, baby?"
"I need you, Elliot, and I need you now. Are you really gonna make me wait?"
The dark, seductive tone in your voice nearly brought him to his knees. "No ma'am," he insisted. Then he scooped you up like he did when you were both a lot younger and carried you to the door like you were his brand new blushing bride.
"Elliot!" you yelled, laughter clouding your voice. "Put me down! You're gonna strain your back."
He laughed too, but he didn't put you down. "Don't underestimate my strength, baby. Besides, you're light as a feather."
"You lie, but I love it."
He grinned as he carried you across the threshold. "I would never."
Instead of putting you down once you were inside the house, he continued to carry you towards the stairs. "Absolutely not!"
"I'm not gonna drop you."
"No, but we might fall down the stairs!" You started to squirm to make your point.
"Fine, fine. But only because trying to hold onto you now would probably be a death sentence." He sat you down gently. "Crazy woman," he teased as he leaned in to kiss you.
"Lock the door and meet me upstairs," you said before running up the steps to your bedroom.
He grinned ear to ear, and made sure to lock the front door before racing after you.
When he reached the bedroom you'd shared for almost a decade, his heart skipped a beat at the sight before him. Somehow in the 10 second head start you'd had, you managed to get down to nothing but your bra and panties. You were laying on the bed, chest rising and falling rapidly, a look of heady desire on your face.
"Aren't you gonna come in?"
Elliot smiled and stepped into the room. "I was just admiring the view."
You smirked. "See something you like?"
"I see someone I love."
Your expression softened and you reached out for him. "Come here, baby."
He slipped his shoes off and made his way over to the bed.
"Wait--maybe take off your shirt and pants first."
He raised his eyebrows.
"Unless you want me to rip them off."
He laughed. "As sexy as that might be, I don't want to be vacuuming up buttons for the next month."
You laughed softly and watched as he quickly undressed. "Lose the undershirt too, while you're at it."
"When did you get to be so demanding?" he teased before complying with your request.
"You love it," you teased back.
He climbed onto the bed and hovered over you. His lips grazed your ear, as he whispered, "You know I do."
When he kissed you this time, you felt all the years of love the two of you shared, all the things you'd left unsaid for so long, and all the emotions you had both been holding back.
Love wasn't easy--it was messy and imperfect, but you wouldn't have traded it for anything. Very few people were blessed with true love and those that were knew to hold onto it. You had come so close to losing it--losing him--but you'd never let yourself really feel that loss. His gentle loving touch reminded you of everything you'd come so close to losing and it brought tears to your eyes.
"Hey," he said softly, noticing your tears. He brushed back your hair and he wiped a tear from your cheek. "What's wrong, doll?"
"Nothing, El," you assured him. "Everything is just right."
"You don't usually cry when I kiss you."
You laughed lightly and wiped your eyes. You reached up to touch his face and he leaned into your palm. "Losing you is my biggest fear," you whispered. "I came so close...I never want to feel that way again."
"You won't," he murmured as his eyes turned glossy. "I'm not going anywhere."
You sighed softly. "Make love to me, Elliot Stabler."
"Your wish is my command, (Y/N) Stabler."
Hips lips met yours again in a searing kiss. The way he touched you, held you, kissed you--it was passionate and loving, and you were once again reminded that it had been years since you'd made love like this.
His hands were gentle, but firm, as if he wanted to make sure you knew he wasn't going anywhere. The room was filled with nothing but his gentle whispers of affection and your soft moans of enjoyment.
By the time he was ready to enter you, you were already teetering on the brink, your body vibrating with need. He slid inside of you in one quick thrust, and you gasped his name in his ear.
There was nothing rushed about the way he moved, despite the pent up desire you'd both experienced. He gave you what you needed and accepted what you gave him. The soft sounds you made spurred him on, his need to hear you reach your peak his driving force.
"I love you so much, (Y/N/N)," he whispered.
You kissed him breathlessly. "And I love you."
There were a thousand things he wanted to tell you, a million sweet nothings, but those would have to wait. He had forgotten what it felt like to be so deeply connected to another person--so intimately intertwined. It was a feeling he could never put into words and he'd only ever felt it with you.
"I missed this," he murmured. "I missed you."
"I missed us," you whispered in return.
In truth, he'd missed everything about being with you. He would have sold his soul if it meant he never had to leave you. He imagined you wouldn't be particularly fond of such a thought, but he couldn't help the way he felt. You were his world and he would have done anything to keep you.
"I'm close," you gasped, nails digging into the flesh of his broad back.
"Hang on for a little longer, baby. I want you to cum with me."
"I don't think I can."
"Yes you can, doll. Do it for me."
You nodded and dug your nails in a little deeper, as if the reflex kept you from falling over the edge.
Elliot groaned softly, the pain mixing with the pleasure in just the right way. He knew he was going to have marks on his back tomorrow and he would wear them with pride.
His pace quickened slightly and your moans began to increase in volume. You continued to clutch onto him and your core spasmed around him, pulling him closer to the edge.
"I'm almost there, baby," he murmured.
You whined, unable to verbally beg him to speed up.
He took the hint and changed his pace again, chasing his own high. He knew you couldn't hold on much longer, but he was desperate to feel you reach your climax at the same time as him.
"Need to cum," you begged.
"Almost, baby."
You whined again, but you continued to hold on.
He knew he was seconds away from orgasming, but he waited until the very last moment to whisper in your ear, "Cum for me."
The moment those words left his lips, the cord in your abdomen snapped and you cried out as the wall of pleasure slammed into you. Elliot came at the same moment, a cry of your name ripped from his throat as he filled you with his seed.
You clung to each other as you began to come down from your highs, unwilling or unable to let go. Elliot collapsed on top of you and you held on tightly, enjoying the feeling of his warm body enveloping yours.
Through the haze of pleasure, you were reminded of how incredible sex was when it was with someone who loved and respected you as much as you loved and respected them. There was nothing special about the sex itself...it was missionary position for crying out loud, but the person you were making love with is what made it special.
"You are my heart and soul, Elliot. I could never love anyone the way I love you." You whispered the words into his hair, almost hoping he didn't hear you.
He didn't move for a long moment--so long, in fact, that you thought he may have simply fallen asleep. Then he lifted his head to look at you and the words he said would stick with you for the rest of your life.
"I never knew what love was until I met you--it was just a word, nothing special. I've been madly in love with you for as long as I can remember and I'll never want anything else. You are my everything, (Y/N)...my sun, my moon, my stars, my universe. You are branded on my soul for all of time."
That was, without a doubt, the most romantic thing he'd ever said to you--and he'd said a lot of romantic things in the past 15 years. Your eyes filled with emotion and you tried your hardest not to cry.
He pulled himself up and leaned over you to kiss you gently and sweetly, a kiss you returned gladly. When he pulled away, he laid down beside you and tugged you to him, not quite ready to let go of you.
You nuzzled into his chest with a sigh, perfectly content to stay right there forever.
Elliot kissed the top of your head and squeezed you tightly, making sure you knew he wasn't going to let you go. He knew there was still going to be a lot for the two of you to talk about, but you'd managed to reform a connection that you'd both lost, and he'd be damned if he let it break again.
He wasn't at all surprised when you spoke up as if you'd read his mind. "We still have a lot to talk about, El."
He chuckled softly. "I know, baby, but we'll have plenty of time to talk tomorrow. For now, I just want to fall asleep with you in my arms."
You sighed happily. "I think I can live with that."
It didn't take long for you both to fall asleep, the comfort of each other's arms all you needed to feel safe, protected, and so very loved. Love is never easy, but it is always worth it.
