you loved lazy days. you especially loved lazy days with your beautiful boyfriend, jay. it wasn’t often that you got them, mostly considering that jay was a busy man. if he could help it, jay would take you out every weekend, but you knew he needed the rest and didn’t mind going out every other week.

that’s how you usually spent your weekends: laid up together, limbs tangled up under your covers, with the sun peeking through the curtains. you didn’t mind it at all, soaking up the sunlight and sitting in a comfortable silence with your boyfriend. during this time, it was easy to slip into the rabbit hole that was tiktok. the clock app never loosened the grip it had on you, oftentimes scrolling through videos mindlessly.

dance videos flooded your for you page. you tend to save a lot of them to maybe try and learn later. you stopped scrolling when one specific video caught your eye.

the way the curly-haired singer glided across your screen mesmerized you. the dance was truly addictive, leaving you to save the video in your collection. you honestly wished you could move the way tyla did.

looking through the sound, it seemed like the dance was blowing up. tons of dancers swayed their hips to the sound effortlessly. continuing to scroll, you stopped on a video of a girl ‘testing’ her boyfriend with the sound.

you had seen this prank before with another tyla video. it was kind of funny to see the guys try to look discreetly. with jay right beside you, you figured, “why not?”

by no means were you an insecure person. in fact, you actually loved tyla and admired her skills as a singer and dancer. jay was also not the biggest fan of tiktok, often spending his lazy days scrolling through twitter or reading a book on his phone. there’s no way he could’ve seen the dance going around, right?

clicking the sound, you turned away a bit to make sure the camera had a good view of your boyfriend. after turning up the volume level on your phone a bit, you pressed record. the song played for a few seconds, and for a moment, you really thought jay wouldn’t look back towards the camera. he almost passed your little ‘test’, except… was that his eye?

“park jongseong!” you yelped. you couldn’t believe what you just saw. your jaw dropped when you looked back at your man, only to see him smirking and continuing to read his book.

“i honestly had a feeling you were going to do this sooner or later.” he said.

“you’re not even super active on tiktok? how do you know the trend?”

“riki showed us the video, you know how obsessed he is with tyla.” you should’ve known, as riki loved tyla as much as you did. still, you might need to rethink just how chronically online your boyfriend must actually be.

“you’re not mad i looked, are you?” jay turned his body towards you. by the way your back was still turned to him and your bottom lip jutted out; he wanted to make sure you weren’t genuinely upset.

“no, seong, i’m not mad,” you turned around to look your boyfriend in the eye. “it’s not like tyla is super famous, super talented, pretty, and has an amazing body.” you said, rolling your eyes playfully.

“yeah, well, while that might be true, just know you’re better,” he chuckled, wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you closer. “and you want to know why that is?”

“why is that, park jongseong?”

jay gazed deeply into your eyes before capturing your lips in a sweet, chaste kiss.

“because you’re mine.”

kamakura, japan - nmr

summary: you visit kamakura for the first time with your japanese boyfriend and dress up in a kimono || warnings: none || genre: fluff || word count: approximately 600 || a/n: thank you so much for the request and the compliment!! I made this in the perspective of someone who isn't from japan so i hope that's okay with you & i hope you enjoy, pls send more requests!!

I was currently in Japan, exploring and enjoying the country with my boyfriend, Riki who had grown up here. Even before I had come with him to Japan, I could tell he was really excited about all of this, concocting ideas with his family about where he should take me and making a very long list of places to go with me.

Eventually, we had arrived in Japan and immediately he made sure our days were filled with exciting things, bringing me to some more tourist-popular areas and then some more local-popular areas.

On the second night of us being in Japan, he had suggested we go to Kamakura, Japan; an ancient capital in Japan where you could really explore and learn more about Japanese culture and explore the beauty of the country.

Of course, I was excited about the suggestion and instantly agreed to the idea. I mean, why wouldn't I want to learn more about the country's culture, especially since my boyfriend was from here.

The next day, we took the train to Kamakura. During the train ride, me and Riki had fallen asleep, getting in a quick nap as to fully enjoy the little day trip. When we arrived, we got off of the train and headed to one of the shrines. At the shrine, there was a place to rent a Kimono for the day. Riki had encouraged me to do so and though I felt a little shy about it, I did want to do it. I always found Kimonos beautiful and just so elegant looking.

He ended up convincing me, telling me that he'd get in one to so that I wasn't alone- although really I wouldn't be alone since there were a bunch of other people in Kimonos as well.

I got into the Kimono, got my hair done, my makeup done, and got taught the correct way to wear the clothing by the worker who had spoken to me in a mixture of English and Japanese which was very helpful.

I thanked the worker before leaving- having had paid beforehand for the rental. I walked out of the shop to see Riki, standing outside waiting for me. He was wearing a Kimono as well and it looked so good on him. It was beautiful, really.

When he looked up, he and I had made eye contact as he watched me walk over to him, "What do you think?" I shyly asked, hoping he'd think I'd looked pretty.

"You look beautiful." He said, practically looking down at me with heart eyes.

"You think so?" I asked, smiling up at him.

"I know so." He reassured me, looking me up and down but not in a lustful way, more in a way full of love and admiration.

"I'm really excited to see the shrine. I saw pictures online and it looks beautiful." I tell Riki as we started to walk towards the shrine.

"You're really going to like it. I've been here before when I was a kid." He tells me and I nod, listening to him as he explained what he remembered about it to me.

We spent the rest of the day exploring the area along with the beautiful culture of Japan. We then got on the train again and got ready for another long train ride back to his family's home. While in the train, at least before I ended up falling asleep, I already was thinking about how excited I was to explore more of the country tomorrow. I realized, though, that right now, I should enjoy the present moment and the day I had just had.
