OC infodump: Havens

So I never talked about this but lemme introduce you guys to the Havens :)

Basically there was this period of time where I could really only cope by listening to music I like. And since I have such a strong connection to the songs I love I thought- well, why not make these into coherent thoughts? So I made characters out of them. Big infodump under the cut ><

I call them "Havens". They are created when a specific type of memory or bond is made with a song, whether it be good or bad. They come with a small dimension-like space and a being. A Haven is both its place and its person. Each Haven is marked with a different symbol that indicates what type of bond or memory they have with their Holder. (Symbol designs are a wip) A Holder is a person who creates Havens- for example, I would be the Holder of my Havens. So far, there are four types of bonds. Favored, favored but bittersweet, not favored, and inexplicable. (Though, there is only one Haven in the inexplicable category so far.)

Havens, either good or bad memory, are supposed to be safe spaces that their Holder can go to when needed. What the theme of a Haven is is dictated by the Holder's personal perception of a song. If it is related to the song's source or not, that is what the Haven will look like. For both area and being. (For example, I have a Haven of the song Waterfall from Undertale. Their area is very similar to the Waterfall area in the game since that is what I relate the song to.)

A Haven is able to take form as its being or as its area- if that makes sense. They can either be their person or their place, basically.

How a Haven's area works is up to you. You don't need logic, for it's to help comfort you. Like I have a Haven that is underwater, but y'know- since we can't breathe underwater I conceptualized it to where I could.

Now, onto the people. Each Haven has its own distinct personality and way of helping their Holder cope. (For me, I usually like to sleep so a lot of my Havens help me fall asleep.) Their names are not dictated by anything, and you can name your Haven whatever you please. Their names work like this: "Haven (Name)". Haven is in their name to indicate what they are, and their name helps differentiate who is who. They also have titles. It is usually dictated by what their area is like or what their memory is attached to.

They are able to leave their area and visit other Havens if they'd like, but they instantly return if their Holder needs. I haven't conceptualized a way that multiple Havens could speak with their Holder at once quite yet. I'll get there soon, though.

Now I think I've explained enough to help you understand..? If not then feel free to ask questions, I love this concept dearly and will explain everything as many times as needed (with pleasure).

quick headcanon dump for gold's newest team member (who is also now on his profile)!

Yes. Sable IS based loosely off of this creepypasta and the respective FNF Lullaby song featuring her. I actually have to credit Saster, the guy who composed her song, for dubbing her 'Sable' as a much nicer thing to call her.

She still can't Sing. she can't really speak either. Gold's working on a way to get the Unown to help her out when it comes to communicating her thoughts.

Gold allowed her to forget Sing, instead teaching her moves that don't rely on her voice. Primarily, though, she's the token support team member/emotional support pink blob since, you know, not a good idea to make her battle.

She was planned to join Gold's team from the very beginning of this blog. Since she's the star of her own creepypasta, I wanted to give Sable a bit of a spotlight/have a little story arc for how she joined Gold's team. The Love Ball was just a happy coincidence that gave me the spark to push forward.

No, she doesn't want you to give her your Sing. She mostly just wants Poffins and headpats.

She also does not look creepy like in the pasta. She's a normal Wigglytuff aside from being unable to sing. Sorry to disappoint.

Hurry being the one to find her is a fun callback to how DISABLED ends, where the player receives Hurry in a trade.

Saw people sharing their rarepairs from G1 and I thought I’d write a small prompt for mine after watching Boo York for the first time in years.

Even though she’s performed many times in many different places, one place Catty never expected to perform was at a museum gala hosted by a rather stuffy royal who had no interest in modern day music let alone Catty’s brand of it. Yet despite not being a fan the same stuffy royal did care for her son and wanted to show support for his choice. Which is how both Catty and Pharoh found themselves performing tonight.

Due to the unexpectedness of it all and the fact that she hadn’t planned for it, after all she had only expected to go to a gala, any monster could tell the addition was last minute. But while that may be true it could also be said that the quality Catty gave did not falter. In fact she sounded and looked better than ever, because she felt better than ever.

She had found so much since coming to Boo York, she found her music, she found a good friend and someone who understood her in Pharoh…but there was one last thing she hoped she could say she had found since the moment she laid eyes on them.

As Catty sang the last song of the night, her eyes did not leave the ghoul in the front of the crowd. She was dancing her heart out doing sick twirls and just completely letting loose in the way Catty always wanted to but never could until she learned how. The ghoul looked to be having so much fun and the popstar couldn’t help the desire to want to be part of the crowd for a change, dancing right beside her.

And so when the last song ended Catty wasted no time making her way over to the ghoul. Funny enough she’s actually been around them plenty of times, this would just be the first time they’d officially interact one-on-one so Catty was a bit nervous. In truth she actually got nervous quite often but never like this which made it all the more exciting.

Especially when the ghoul turned to face her, noticing who was coming her way she smiled and spoke before Catty had a chance to say a word.

“Catty, that performance was a-maze-ing! Hex it almost makes me feel like a stereotypical rat that I didn’t have to pay to enjoy it.”

“Thanks Mouscedes, that’s actually a rather nice and unique compliment.”

Mouscedes squeaked in amusement as she giggled into her hand before adding. “I think this is the first time we talked like this, hard to believe considering how often we been around each other the last few days.”

“I was just thinking the same thing!”

“Know what they say, great minds think alike, but I’ve actually been wanting to talk to you for awhile now.”

“Is that so?” For a moment Catty hoped it was for the same reason as her but then again she was a popstar so what reason did she have to hope that.

“Yeah, but it’s not because you’re a popstar.”

‘…Oh…’ Was all her mind managed to think as Mouscedes continued on.

“I won’t lie, I love meeting spellebrities as much as the next beast but that’s not the reason I wanted to talk with you…well not since that die-saster of a brunch anyway.”

“So, why did you want to talk to me?”

Mouscedes squeaked again before saying the next words without even a hint of hesitation. “To ask you on a date.”

To say Catty was at a loss for words was an understatement. Not to toot her own horn but she was Catty Noir, and most of the monsters who talk to her do so in a way that doesn’t let her fidget. Yet here was this rat ghoul doing exactly that.

Not only that but she just asked her out and wow okay. This is definitely a new feeling…but it wasn’t a bad one.

“A date, with me?”

“Of course, with you. I know it might seem out of nowhere but I promise it’s not because of your fame. Like I said it was ever since then, that first time I saw you, that I felt like I had to ask. There’s something about you that just wouldn’t leave my mind. I’m sorry if I’m being a pest right now I just-“

“No! I mean no you aren’t being a pest. Actually that’s kinda almost exactly what I wanted to say to you.”

“Really?” The accompanying squeak was almost a full octave higher than the others.

“Yeah, I think I’ve been having the same thoughts even.”

“Wow, and I thought when I said ‘great minds’ it was just as a cheesy saying. Who knew it would have been literal.”

This time it was Catty’s turn to laugh, though there was something about the way Mouscedes spoke that always left her smiling.

“Anyway, I know this great vegan restaurant that’s to die for, pick you up at your hotel tomorrow? Normally I prefer to get around by walking or by taxi but maybe I’ll think about bringing out the limo for this occasion.”

Was Mouscedes teasing her? If that smile and that glint in her eye was anything to go by then yes, she most definitely was.

“I think walking sounds like a grand idea.”

Mouscedes squeaked joyfully and the soft closed eyed smile she hit Catty with almost knocked her on her feet but somehow she stayed standing. “I’m glad to hear that.”

Catty smiled back and for a moment she even forgot she was still a popstar in the middle of a fancy gala. For a moment she felt like a normal ghoul giddy with excitement over the prospect of something new.

it's munday and i'm gonna be ranking all the lullaby songs let's go gamers.

safety lullaby: kinda mid. off-putting to hear hypno say lines when he's just sampling the pokémon cry for the rest of the mod, but hey he's spitting bars. 4/10.

left unchecked: absolute fucking banger and highly underrated. actually writing my own lyrics to it as we speak. 8/10.

lost cause: literally just noise but gf's beginning part saves it from being a zero. 1/10.

frostbite: kinda slow but i do admit, it's kinda grown on me. after that first verse it does get a lot better, ESPECIALLY once freakachu comes out. i do gotta say the shiny remix of it is the improved version, especially when the monochrome leitmotif comes in. 6/10.

insomnia: another one that grew on me!!! kinda long but i love silver's chromatics and there's a few really fun parts. i do wish scorchvx got to add in the ending animation to insomnia because otherwise the sequence feels incomplete without it and we don't get how BF ends up in the void. 7/10.

monochrome: THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND. the reason why i got back into poképastas and remembered why i loved lost silver so much. absolute fucking banger in v1, and simplycrispy IMPROVED on literal perfection for v2. i actually like both versions of perish mix oddly enough, mainly because simplycrispy lowered the jumpscare volume so that it's actually listenable. i still prefer the non-jumpscare version when it comes to juno's cover and general listening because i'm a weenie and don't wanna be shrieked at when i'm listening to juno spitting bars. 11/10.

missingno: definitely a banger, heavily improved from v1, but i don't... really think it should've gotten its own week? the missingno week definitely confuses me, since there wasn't as much of an effort to tie it in with buried alive as lost silver week did for SOMS and lost silver. having two songs as opposed to three definitely didn't help, and maybe if the mod was finished they would've done a little more polishing. still, good song. 8/10.

brimstone: okay this is the one they were REALLY hyping up in the teaser for V2. and while i enjoyed it at first, it's... definitely a bit of a let down. there's a lot of good concepts within (missingno as a pokémon, the white hand becoming GF), but i don't necessarily... think they were fully utilized to the best of their abilities? also it's just LOOOONG. which is weird because triple trouble is much longer but it also feels more dynamic than brimstone does, which i feel like you gotta do if you're making a super long FNF song so the player doesn't fall asleep at the keyboard? 5/10.

amusia: damn, for a wigglytuff unable to sing, she sure goes off. that being said, saster almost never misses. also unfinished because it's lacking the ending jumpscare, but i don't think it really needed that? lullaby overuses the jumpscares quite a bit (coughcoughPURINcoughcoughFROSTBITEcoughitycoughLOSTCAUSEcough) and i think the more somber, poignant ending provides better contrast. also reminds me i gotta get wigglytuff icons for.... science. 8/10.

dissension: WHY ARE YOU SO SLOOOOOW. steven's chromatics fuck though... is what i was originally going to write, but i'm relistening to the song so i can do this and actually wait no this is a banger. the instrumental definitely reminds me of something ghost would put out, and steven's chromatics still fuck. 7/10.

purin: OHHHH MAN HERE WE FUCKING GO. so i know i should be nicer to this song because there was a lot of cool stuff that got cut from it and it's heavily unfinished but man fuck it. the song blows. jigglypuff's chromatics sound like ass, forcing my poor poor man pico to carry the song. there's a cover with gold that fixes the problems of 'jigglypuff's chromatics sound like ass', but MYYYYY GOOOOOOD it does not fix how slooooooooooow it is. it's like Bring Me To Life but if you replaced amy lee with a deflating helium balloon. also no the reversed part is not as cool as people think it is. kill me/10.

death toll: a lot of people claim this is the best song of lullaby. i still think monochrome edges it out, but honestly it's REEEEEAAAAAALLY close. the dueling melodies REALLY hit, the diamond/pearl themes in there feel well-blended, and dawn shifting into BF makes for some really neat moments. juno also wrote a really good cover of this that you should listen to. recd's on it. 10/10.

isotope: the backing track is really good on this one, but my god the memes killed it for me. there should've been a MUCH bigger drop after the 'they took everything from me' monologue. first half is really good, but the song just kinda ends on a sad wet fart, and not the darnell kind. also i don't have any better place to put this but man th3innu3ndo is a douchebag. 4/10.

bygone purpose: so remember my notes on purin above? bygone purpose has the same problem but with a much better song. GOD i do not like hypno's chromatics on this one. alexis definitely saves it though. 6/10.

pasta night: talk about getting funky on a friday night, huh. absolute BANGER swinging back-up, mx, lord x, and hypno's chromatics are really good together, and of course we got my little boy floating by in the background. of COURSE i'm gonna give this one a perfect rating. 10/10.

shinto: reeeeaaaaaaally good. like, unbelievably fun. my one nitpick is that there's a problem with the mixing and the instrumental sometimes overpowers shinto and grey's chromatics, but otherwise it would've also gotten a perfect score. 9.5/10.

shitno: okay unpopular opinion time but i actually like shinto a little better than this one. i think we should've fully given saster free reign over shitno, because his part's DEFINITELY where the song gets really good. not that it was bad (it's not), but like, if you're gonna have shinto turn into a big fuckass monster, you'd want the big fuckass monster song to exceed all expectations. 9/10.

currently reading: Monstress comics. An epic/dark fantasy story in a setting similar to early 20th century Asia, just with a magical race of people at war with sorceresses that gain their magic by consuming said magical race. Also there are old gods that are waking up in the world and pretty much everyone, main character included, is gay to some degree. I love it and honestly can’t recommend it enough.

Patton woke up feeling well-rested and ready for the day. But something was wrong. Why didn’t he wake up to his alarm clock? What time was it?

He looked at the clock and froze. How had he not heard his alarm clock? It was now 10 am and the other sides needed breakfast. He usually made breakfast for them since they all liked to sleep in. Oh no, he had to hurry now.

Before he could sprint downstairs, he noticed a note on the table. With the note was a glass of water.

‘Good morning, Patton. Please don’t be alarmed. You’ve worked yourself into the ground lately, so we decided to turn off your alarm. You needed the rest. I’ve put a glass of water on your bedside table. Remember to stay hydrated - Logan’

Huh, that was nice of them. He still needed to prepare some breakfast though, right? 

He made his way downstairs, but almost missed a step when the smell of pancakes and bacon hit his nose. He could feel a smile tug on his lips. Gosh, he loved his friends so much.

When he made it to the kitchen, he saw none other than his dark strange son flipping a pancake.

“Oh hey, Pat. I’m glad you’ve gotten some rest. Don’t tell Logan but I put chocolate chips in the pancakes. I know you like them that way” 

Patton didn’t know what to say. He just squealed and ran to his friend, giving him the biggest hug ever. They were all being so nice to him.

He sat down at the table when Roman walked into the kitchen.

“Good morning, my dear Patton. I hope you feel energized and ready for adventure. We are going on a family picnic today. The sun is shining in the Imagination. I made sure of it!”

Patton couldn’t contain his excitement. He jumped up and down and over to Roman, pulled him into a hug, and started dancing wildly around the room with him. Giggles could be heard in all of the Mindscape.

Before their family picnic could start, they had to prepare some food to bring with them. Patton made a bunch of sandwiches. He made sure to make some with Crofters for Logan and Roman. He also decided to make cookies! Roman and Virgil helped and it got a little messy, but that’s okay because they were all having fun and that’s what counts. Remus even showed up a few times to steal some cookies. They didn’t mind that. “There’s enough for a whole army here anyway” Roman had said.

When Patton stepped into the Imagination for the family picnic he lost his breath. Roman really had made sure the sun was shining. Everything was beautiful. The grass was a stunning vibrant green and there were flowers in every color of the rainbow. It truly was perfect.

They spent hours in the Imagination. Patton and Roman made flower crowns for everyone. Some were reluctant to put them on but eventually, they did. Remus decided to conjure up a mud puddle and start to roll around in it. Later he tackled Roman, much to his dismay, in a hug, and Roman proceeded to hunt his brother down for revenge. The others hadn’t been able to stop laughing.

Patton and Virgil had laid down in the grass to look at the few clouds in the sky, pointing out what they looked like. 

“That one looks like a heart!” Patton excitedly exclaimed.

“Patton, every cloud looks like a heart to you,” Virgil said, with a fond smile on his lips.

Patton eventually closed his eyes and enjoyed the warmth of the sun on his skin and the feeling of Virgil’s hand in his. 

This was nice. Patton could use more days like this. He thought the others could too.

While all this had happened Deceit and Logan had been sitting quietly in the grass talking and reading. Sometimes they would look up at their friends and smile, making a comment about how silly they were. 

Apparently, Patton had dozed off because he woke up to the wonderful smell of dinner being ready. They all ate dinner together, talking about the events of the day. Patton was so happy he could almost cry. 

The day ended with one of their classic Disney movie nights. Logan made popcorn and Remus brought all the pillows and blankets to the living room making a giant blanket nest for them all. Patton was sandwiched between Roman and Virgil with his head on Roman’s chest. This day could not get any better.

Lots of laughter was shared and songs were sung. It was absolutely perfect.

Around midnight Patton’s eyes started to droop. He fell asleep to the sound of Roman’s steady heartbeat with a smile on his lips.

I have been feeling down lately, so I thought writing some fluff would help. This is also my first fic without any angst in it! I’ve had a long break from writing so I’m sorry if this feels really fast-paced. I hope it’s still okay tho. I’m trying to get into writing mode again.
