I was just looking through my "Star Trek technology" tag on Capsfromtrek (Inactive sideblog) and I just enjoy the aesthetic of Star Trek so much. All the beeps and the bops and the chonky technology and the panels from all the different eras.

All the levers and the buttons and the random numbers and the flashing light of a tricorder going beep beep you have a weird space condition. I love all the piles of padds and the whoosh of the transporter and the animations of fantastical space events.

I love Star Trek so much.

learning about star treks influence on not only fanfic but like almost every facet of modern fan culture is SO fascinating

Star Trek is amazing bc like half the time I’m blown away by the incredible world building and the way that they tackle relevant issues.I’m stunned by the way that they take the beauty of discovery and adventure and bring it to life,The way that I can relate to characters so different from me.And the other half I’m breaking down laughing bc Dr. Twink himself is wearing spandex again and Worf just got his ass beat to prove that this new rando villain is kinda buff and literal God is being horny on the bridge again and somewhere else Literal Jesus Is angry bc A gay lizard Secret agent is being being horny on bridge Again and the guy who kisses with his hands is holding hands with the guy who clearly loves him while the directors scream that they don’t love eachother and a dorky horny troll man is tryna sell me alcohol in a world where I can magic my own in my room the characters are either LGBTQ+, on the autism spectrum, have ADHD OR they’re just a literal father you can’t get this kind of quality content anywhere else

I honestly loved how Star Trek-y last SNW episode was.

Old friend to the captain that looks like they had a fling? Hell yes

An ensign screwing up a whole mission and having a redemption arc? Queen shit

All of the aliens acting hella sketch but none of the characters notice? Looking away like a boss

The captain ignoring any professionalism at the work place and having sex with the aliens they are working with? On point

Doctor and guest doctor bonded at the very last moment? Character growths

The aliens are absolutely ethically wrong but you can't do anything about it because what is done is done? Absolute emptiness and helplessness

God I love this show
