Yet again posting about Castlevania Nocturne again because this show has an iron grip on my brain.

I've seen some Castlevania 'Purists' complain about Annette being different than in the games and I am. So so baffled. Nocturnes Anette is so much more interesting and fascinating than the original Annette was ever and could ever be. She's not even really a character in Rondo of Blood for crying out loud! She only exists in the games to be the damsel in distress and prize for Richter to get at the end of the game. She is not a character. But now that she finally gets to be a character people get pissy because "She's not like how she is in the games" when the real reason they're mad is they can't handle seeing a badass woman of color standing up for herself.

And while talking about Annette, I'd like to take a moment to appreciate how we're getting to see more than just the Revolution in France. As someone who has a fascination in the French Revolution, I really liked how they're also bringing up the Revolution in Hati (saint-domingue) as we tend to just focus on what was going on in Europe and France at this time, but important Revolutions were also going on all across Frances holdings that still effect what's going on. And getting to see it from the perspective of Annette, a former slave who liberated herself and helped in the Revolution is really cool, especially getting to see her Yoruba heritage from her parents, and her religion. It's also neat to see Hati Creole being used. While this show does have some flaws, Annette is not one of them, and if you're having trouble accepting that then. Idk what to tell you

Anyway back to obsessing over Alucard (and also Juste Belmont)

i have watched nothing other than EthoSlab the past couple weeks. (With the exception of Double Life and Friday Night Stabby Stabby).

I have watched Vinyl Fantasy, Spellbound Caves, Kaizo Caverns, Simulation Protocol (twice), Diversity 3, Terra Restore 2 (like five times or something, including the Team Canada Montage video of it-), Uncharted Territory, 1 and 2 (just finished 2).

I'm about to start Uncharted Territory 3.

And I've already watched all of Sky Factory 2.5, Labyrinth of Puzzles, all of Team Canada's Don't Starve, plus all of Etho and Doc's Don't Starve.

I am mentally okay.

my favourite thing about macdennis is their weird domestic habits like wdym they rented all their furniture for more than two decades instead of buying them. they rented the predator movie each time too even though it's their favourite movie that they've watched 30 times in the last two months. mac peels dennis' apples for him and dennis isn't allowed to eat apples with them. they have monthly dinners that they look forward to where they dress nicely and go to fancy restaurants. MONTHLY. mac only knows how to cook boxed mac and cheese and dennis screams at him for this but doesn't consider taking up cooking himself ofc. they make a room in their suburbs house a trash room and paste fresherners all over the room bc they don't know how to just take out the trash like normal people. they need two rooms and two bathrooms at minimum as a home, and bc they can't find that, they'd rather sleep with dee and an old man in one bed in a house with only one bathroom. the fact that basically nothing in their house before the fire belonged to mac, and dennis supposedly hates living with mac and yet still does even though they're pushing 50. they seem to share their finance, and dennis tells mac to stop buying the rock drinks using it. dennis lets mac massage his pecs and dye his hair. they do all this and yet dennis acts like mac is insane for acting like they're a couple.

Crowley's Bentley = Crowley's Heart?

Putting on them clown damned shoes again, y'all. Had a thought last night while typing out today's additions to my GO S2 Meta...

Is Crowley's Bentley supposed to be a metaphor for his heart?

THINK ABOUT IT:

In Season 1:

The Bentley survives the fire because Crowley believes with all his heart that he and the car will make it to save Aziraphale.

Crowley drives fast because his love for Azzie makes his heart race.

Speaking of driving too fast, when Aziraphale say's "you drive too fast for me Crowley", subtextually he means "your heart moves too fast for me, I'm not ready for you".

In Season 2:

Crowley's houseplants (the only things he supposedly loves) are in his Bentley (home is where the heart is??). He didn't have the heart to throw them away, so... he put them in his heart where they will be loved.

Crowley sends Aziraphale away from the bookshop to protect him from the threat of Heaven, and the safest place he knows is (his heart) The Bentley, which will take care of Azzie. He literally locks Azzie away in his heart to keep Azzie safe and sheltered away from everyone.

Crowley can feel everything happening in and around the Bentley. He knows when his heart slowed down because he wasn't worried about Aziraphale anymore; his heart desires to please Aziraphale and make him happy by driving slow, playing music Aziraphale loves, offering him sweets, and being painted yellow like Crowley's eyes. Crowley only threatens because he's worried Aziraphale will find out that he loves him if the Bentley keeps up with being adoring to Aziraphale. GUYS I THINK WE'RE GOING TO GET A DOTING-HUSBAND-CROWLEY is what I'm getting at, here.

That said, the Bentley ADORES Aziraphale, trying to follow him and keep him safe. And immediately does what Aziraphale asks, just like Crowley usually does.

At the end of S2E6, the Bentley plays the music Crowley is thinking about immediately after their spat and his failed confession, then shuts it off angrily because he’s heart broken... so he “breaks the (love) song” by shutting it off and out of his heart.

BASICALLY what I'm saying is that in the 90 or so years he's owned the Bentley is when he truly realized he was IN LOVE with Aziraphale and poured all that love into the Bentley instead to compensate.

Shax even says to Aziraphale in S2E4:

"Sometime, in the last 80 or 90 years, I remember hearing that you and Crowley were an item."

Very specific numbers, mentioned TO the love interest inside of the damned Heart itself, isn't it? And we know Shax can read into people's hearts (she does it numerous times in the season, specifically with the Crowley mirror, Maggie, in S2E5 and again to Aziraphale in S2E6, revealing more about Crowley and Azzie).

I reckon there's a LOT more, but like... DAMN this feels like Phones and Hearts all over again. I'm not sure if this makes the Bookshop Azzie's heart (right now I'm thinking MAYBE??), but that's something else to explore after another rewatch. That would mean, if the Bookshop was Azzie's heart, that he realized a LOT longer ago than Crowley he loved him. Hmm.

After Lilith teleported away and Beatrice was left all alone, heartbroken and bone tired, she glanced at the opposite wall and looked away again after a few moments as if she couldn't bear the sight for another second.

What if this was when she lost her faith in God completely? We see signs long before this. Now, Ava is gone. Beatrice has failed to protect the Warrior Nun and The Halo yet again, the mission she has committed to for so long. Lilith, the sister she once had, abandoned her once more. Also, how can she face Jillian, who lost her son for the second time? How can the OCS function without The Halo and a Warrior Nun?

Ava is gone, and Beatrice's world and faith in God are shattered.
