death in venice by thomas mann (classic. but its so rich w metaphors and symbolism. if you do read it, i'd recommend reading "the uses of myth in death in venice" by isadore traschen afterwards, bc it does a great job explaining all the freudian allegories and mythological symbolism and u'll literally be tearing ur hair out afterwards over how brilliant thomas mann was)

the carnivorous lamb by agustín gómez-arcos (idc that i've already talked about this a gajillion times on here. its literally the best book i've ever read. i'll forever be obsessed and i wish there was literally anything that could ever hit as hard as this did. if u read it, anon (if u havent already) dont go through the carnivorous lamb tag on here bc u need to experience this without any big prior knowledge. trust me)

It’s so much funnier to give love interests one specific person that they just seethe with jealousy over. In a lot of acotar fics it’s usually Helion or Tarquin (both single, both very sexy and sweet). I think it’d be really funny if it’s one specific guy. Like he’s just a guy, some guard night court!reader knew in Velaris. He’s literally just a nice guy, no problems with anyone.

But something about him just pisses Eris off to no end 😭 (like Dinkleberg in The Fairly Oddparents)

If it’s a high lord, the obvious option is Tarquin bc I feel like Eris has some hint of his mother’s affairs with Helion. Tbh I rarely look at what creators post cuz its all old(and on deviant art which I don’t use) BUT I LOVE THIS I HAD NO IDEA SHE WAS UPDATED AT ALL I THOUGHT SHE EAS DROPPED. . I love it. not that murder is ok for the most part … but this is affirming my brain…….

my entire creepypasta au thingy or whatever kinda just redirects most of them into like, vigilantes, trying to keep peace, some aren’t even killers, some have a body count of like 2 max +++ not even slender is trying to just go around killing everyone for funsies . Jeff totally still kills for funsies tho I can’t take that from him. But now clocky… VIGILANTEEEE 💪💪

I never liked everyone being sadistic and going on killing sprees. Makes no sense for half their backstories/motivations, So tbh being able to throw clockwork into the vigilante category when actually analyzing her backstory AND IT BE CANONNNNN so real and true. It helps make it easier to separate said motivations between each character too, so they’re all just a little more complicated and I have more to think about. And I esp think my girls need more complexity cuz ppl wanna sweep them all under the “Mary sue” rug and I am TIIIIREEEEDDD of my gf clocky getting shit on for the same shit jeff is loved for 💔 also I def love the little note of her trying to get past using killing as a coping mechanism cuz ykw? I don’t think a therapist would recommend . And it would make for real good fics/comics lol

Also it’s just nice to watch people reflect on old tropes and adjust them as time goes on. I’m obv super attached and nostalgic for most things 2015 tho LOL

But like most people here I don’t really actually focus on canon details, I just run with the rough concept and design of the character for the most part (but love people who completely revamp stories and designs for fun it’s super cool). But this is smth I will be indulging in……

omg i have such a playlist of taylor songs i think are joel & tess coded but ive only ever dedicated to making the champagne problems video i'll have to listen into those for video ideas with them in mind (like out of the woods could be coded too but im also blorbified so anything can be a song for blorbies if i choose)

Lore, 1989 deluxe was the first taylor album i ever bought and the first album i ever bought with my own money. it has a special place in my heart. (though ranking changes and evermore remains on top, 1989 will always be My First album)

I refused to listen to songs from 1989 at all for over a MONTH leading up to the release because I wanted it to feel fresh and i didn't want the old versions to discourage my liking the new stuff (nostalgia be damned) and i wasn't disappointed but i did notice some songs sounding Different(tm) not a bad thing they're just different. I'll rank each song 1-10 for you with lil quirks if i have anything to say about them

(1/10 based on personal opinion AND production. it's a complicated math but im a professional)

welcome to new york - 6/10 - some lyrics sound like she's singing her heart out from behind a glass window & the producers are trying so hard to keep pitch the same while raising her volume which throws me off. she sings like i scream in dreams

The resident Verdanian peeked around the fabric of the entryway, wine red eyes framed by furrowed brows. The gore of it all? Oh, she was certainly unbothered - it was the fact Mahito was the center of attention that irked her. "H-huh?!" She'd surely have covered her mouth if it weren't on the opposite side of her body. Could a water elemental even sweat..? In any case, it had suddenly gotten that much harder to hold solid form, features partially dissolving as the magi-engineer stumbled hurriedly out of view, paying little heed to her surroundings. In the meantime, the avatar had finally stopped giggling enough to formulate speech.

Fan Fic Writer Asks: 8, 13, 19

8. What project(s) are you currently working on?

I am sporadically working on a sequel to and if I swallow anything evil. Haven't made a lot of headway so far but it's going. Also working on that fic about Sam being trapped between the veil (as a sequel to State of Grace). This one was suggested by MagnoliaTurtle in the comments ages ago and I every time I think about it, I go a little bit more insane.

There's several others as well that I type away at occasionally but really just these two.

I have that fic about Cas trapping Sam in his head a la Frank from Hunteri Heroici (to stop him hurting himself and others with his out of control psychic powers) on my mind too, but I've lost the draft and haven't brought myself to try recreating it yet.

13. How much planning do you do before writing?

Hmm, just a little, usually. I have a general idea of where I'm going and how I intend on getting there but I really find out somewhere near the 20% mark when I've got the vibe down. That's when I do the real planning. Sometimes the vibe suggests the ending to me and I have to change my original plan completely.

19. Give us a small teaser from one of your WIPs.

His world has reliably fallen apart every time Sam's been hurt, he's dropped everything, every time. Except, as it turns out, the last time. The last time, by his tenuous calculation, he'd just finished a job near Atlantic City, and things being the way they were, he'd decided he could do with a short break. The world ending, and all.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, he thinks he might have been spinning his phone on the table, Sam's contact number blurring in circles. He's not all that sure, it could have been some other day or night in some other city, some other table.
