does anybody else feel like a lot of sso's features aren't fully implemented lately? for example the championship season pass thing, I think that was so hidden. for no reason. i've had multiple people tell me they didn't even know it existed until somebody told them about it. and that seems like such a big flaw for a timed event and brand new feature?? i also felt very thrown into the deep end with the collections lately. both gm bee's bees and erissa's dolls didn't tell you anything about what you had to do! i loved the stars, i adored the spiders, this would be right up my alley. but all the confusion ruins it for me! why doesnt sso tell us how many things we have to collect? what's the diary even for if they don't add the new collection quests to it? i loved it as a way to keep track of your progress and get hints of the areas of the collectables you're still missing. the way it is right now it just incentivizes looking up guides instead of trying :(

I was thinking about the stained glass paintings of the Descendants universe (for reasons), and... Cotillion. There is a stained glass picture of Cinderella and Prince Charming... It's not the easiest to spot as its on the lower floor, but its behind Belle and Beast.

So, either racism exits in Descendants at the highest level possible, there are multiple Cinderella's (which tbh would be very entertaining XD Imagine Brandi's Cinderella, the animated Cinderella, and Lily James Cinderella all just sitting down and having tea while talking about their days. no i'm totally not having a fic idea of the three meeting up like a multiverse thing *cough*), OR Rise of Red is on a completely different timeline/universe (multiverse anyone?)

(no but tbh the multiverse theory is my favorite for the absolute chaos it could bring. Have one of the characters, a Wonderland kid probably, be someone who can walk through the universes. Maybe team up with a demigod.)

okay listen.

i like to think that william inherited the purple car from his old man. you know how it was back in the 70s. cars lasted and often got passed down from father to son (SYMBOLISM). he hated the damn thing, but it's what first caught henry's attention one day while on campus. henry drove a much newer car.

while william went to college solely on scholarships courtesy of his smarts and obscenely high GPA, henry's parents footed their son's bill because they could afford it.

"how can a couple of hippies afford to send their kid to school for art?"

"double majoring, actually. dipping my toes into business too."

william hates him for it. it's just so unfair that henry can afford to dress nice but doesn't, because he much rather walk around in comfortable overalls covered in paint. he hates him even more when henry discovers a passion for computers and makes the jump to engineering, almost as a way to compliment william's knack for robotics. william hates him because no, why would you do that, you have no idea what i would've give to be allowed to simply do performance arts. he took after his mom, after all. would've been a professional dancer if his dad had allowed it.

but then one day, because they totally hate each other or whatever, and because their final round of finals before graduation are coming up, henry proposes they skip town. they already got all the technical know-how they needed. who needs a flimsy piece of paper to tell them what they achieved over the past four years?

william takes some convincing. there's a bunch of expectations on his shoulders now. fancy degree, a good paying job, a girl to bring home and follow in his father's wretched footsteps. he can't just... drop it all and run for the hills with his not-friend, right? the not-friend who's always covering his meals and getting him nice flamboyant jackets every birthday and christmas (most of them handmade, of course, really high quality stuff).

henry tells him it's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask permission. "just give it a try, man. imagine if we do get successful. imagine we make it." but what convinces william is the fervor with which henry speaks, the way he looks at him, as if it's just them against the world and they're winning the lottery and nothing could ever go wrong so long as they're side by side.

william abandons his father's car in a lot the following week, hitching a ride out west on henry's fancy car. it's a convertible, by the way. cherry red. some of the best memories william has, after it all goes to shit, is of henry lowering the hood in the middle of the night along a long stretch of dusty, deserted highway. a bug flies into his mouth at some point because he was too busy singing along to the 8-track, but the way henry laughed at his sputtering made it all worth it.

he keeps a polaroid from that roadtrip safe in his pocket, even after everything is said and done.

one day andrew neil and kevin will be forced by their pr teams to do a youtube challenge. they do the deaf blind and mute baking challenge with neil being blind, andrew being deaf, and kevin being mute. exy twitter is never the same after this releases. the chaos is glorious and people now see the three greatest exy players in a completely new light. somehow gold medalists seem less intimidating when you see them cuss each other out over the consistency of cupcake batter

So I'm trying to make a timeline for the pjo universe, and I just realized that Rick skipped a whole year. Like, in universe, he skipped a whole year. Percy went from being old for his grade to being young (he should have turned 18 before his senior year, but now he's turning 18 right before his freshman year of college). So Percy and Annabeth essentially skipped a year of school, because he turned 15 in the battle of the labyrinth and was going into his freshman year of high school by the end of the book, and then a year and a half later, during Trials of Apollo, he's all of a sudden in his senior year. Botl was right before his freshman year, tlo was right before his sophomore year, then he got taken by Hera a few months later, then hoo (minus the lost hero) was the next summer (which would be right after his sophomore year), but then about five months later, January of the next year (when toa starts), he's a senior in high school instead of a junior. Someone please get Rick Riordan a calendar...
