#I MAY HAVE GOTTEN A LITTLE SILLY WITH DISCORDS DESIGN #like his original design makes sense because its described as mostly pony with a bunch of other things thrown in. cause yknow chaos #and I dont have a problem with it but I wanted to try something else #mostly riffing off of daycare attendent and the collector. but I like the idea of his colors mismatching when using magic #like the dark blue spots become orange and vice versa. it looked really cool in my head #fluttershys bat design partly inspired by the Honduran white bat and ghost bats #I like the idea that they turn her back but she still has bat wings hidden under her feathers. makes her a quiet flyer shrugs #and I have never ever seen a single drawing of flutterbat with a bat nose and its a crime #also they r very cute to me. I do feel like these designs maybe portray the clearest arc out of all of them so far. I like that #some of it came from a bit of necessity which is really fun that mirrors the actual play format thats cool #(necessity being freshman year riz is pretty much a huge block of red flannel lmao. kinda stole figs canon color coding for a bit)#(and he's got the owlbear jacket from taping the games in sophomore year... so I cant give fig the big red blocking until #junior year lmao. coincidentally this forced me to be a bit more dynamic with her concept which is great)#her second pair of shoes very sonic tho. I kinda enjoy that lol #tbh I really love that canon gorgug is like in a pair of chucks 24/7 that is SO funny for a barbarian I hope to keep the energy going #with class swap fig I think a barbarian who wears like collector sneakers is awesome. the foot support is so important to their work #the general idea of a hyperfem girlypop barbarian still ticks for me tbh. idk enough abt the zeitgeist to know if thats passé now or not #but doing Fashion on ur job of bodily tearing ur opponent apart with the least flourish possible is just a hit for me #her knee brace is from like an injury back in her cheer days that she got by overexercising in hope of being good enough that #the team couldn't let her go. the team then used that same injury as a pretext to let her go #I think abt her arc tbh... fig's thing in canon junior year abt the point of her rebelling. I feel like a lot of it can also apply to rage #both knocking things over and holding onto things don't like. make anything new. destruction without at least a glimpse of a vision #of the after is ultimately a cynical defeatist point of view... strategic barbarianism for fig babeyy #yay! once again its time for me to Fucking Sleep. but hopefully I can hammer out a proper ref for riz and gorgug both in the #following week inbetween doing my job. its that time of da year lads (<- fully seasonal worker)

I've been at this since may.#probably over 25 hours total.#please please please zoom in. look at the details. make an artist happy.#anyways! does anyone else associate Ouyang with red? specifically rust red.#Esen and Baoxiang are blue and dark blue respectively.#while Zhu is yellow/orange.#so Ouyang being red works in my head bc it places him opposite to Esen's blue.#with red and navy blue being commonly put together despite being very different and even clashing (Ouyang and Baoxiang)#red is right next to orange on the color wheel #and red/yellow/orange mix into each other to become the same colors with Ouyang and Zhu #hence the colors of this piece #plus dark rust red/crimson being both assocoeged with antagonists and blood. both of these fit Ouyang I think.#Ma is also red in my head to go with zhu as well #but she's specifically bright ruby red that goes more towards purple than orange.#so it doesn't overlap with Zhu’s color region #just hangs out next to it.#this also puts Ouyang and Ma as sort of paralel to each other which I think is fun #anyways. i am hungry! i will go eat! it is 4am holy crap–#the radiant emperor #he who drowned the world #zhu yuanzhang #general ouyang #also i lied earlier only evil baoxiang is navy blue. normal non evil wbx is a nice cool green.#same color family as Esen still but lighter/more femenine/less generic #(Esen is specifically Boy-Coded Blue)#WBX being green also has him as complementary color to Ma and Ouyang.#okokok now im done fr.#my art

just saw this girl on tinder that i had the most insane rollercoaster thing with in college but she now identifies as a goth dyke and let me tell you… i swiped right so hard but almost didn’t because i wanted to keep looking at her pictures. she looks the same, just different style but it suits her so so well. and as ya’ll know i am a whore for goth/alt aesthetics to my colorful dyke look. the contrast is so giving but it just so happens to be what im usually drawn to. if we even go out to coffee and end up making out over this, it will have been worth the swipe. even if nothing, it was still totally worth it. i cannot lie, she was such a disaster in college though and nearly tanked an entire group project for me but my professor was also a lesbian (shoutout to this professor bc i loved her so much and she really cared about me) and she was like “hey allura,” and proceeded to tell me that this girl was a less experienced gay than i was and was clearly very obsessed with me (cause apparently she had gone to our professor to talk about me and had accidentally dropped a weird amount of concerning info??) and so my professor was going to separate her from me as much as possible (cause at that point she was like causing a crazy ton of issues for my school stuff and in my social life) but i mean… she was/is REALLY hot. her intensity was really sexy and the way she was so shameless was ALSO very sexy. plus i mean, even though she was doing wild shit it wasn’t like she was an awful person. i found her to be super yummy in all respects and was really shook when she flew off the handle and was basically harassing me. now this all sounds really insane i know but… ugh i want her so bad and i really hoped that some years apart would change those toxic obsessive pieces so let’s hope yes and find out

i'm late to this year’s art review thingy bc I had a reeeally busy december and then left my laptop behind when I came home so couldn’t finish any drawings or get my files 🥲 anyway I’ve been reunited with it now so!!!

it’s been a weird but mostly good year!! i started my first proper job in the anim industry and moved house twice. there’s tons of stuff i wanted to make this year but couldn’t find time for bc of the amount of. everything. going on all the time. it was actually a bit hard finding art to fill the spaces this year, which is why i had to stretch my little amount of sketchbook week stuff over two months. it’s been a little bit frustrating - i feel like i’ve learned so much from my job but i haven’t had much time to do anything to show it, but i guess that’s the trade-off. it’s cool being a small part of someone else’s idea but that means i get less time & energy for my own. i want to try and strike a better balance between the two this year and i really hope that soon i’ll be able to share the thing i’m working on i’m literally gonna die of excitement 😭

it’s been really cool getting to make more content of my ocs and see ppl enjoy it, you guys and the nice comments you leave are everything to me. i hope this new year is kind to everyone and thanks for sticking around <3
