I just saw Beetlejuice on tour. And it was AMAZING. It was funny and heartwarming and I actually was going to cry at one point.

It was absolutely so amazing. I’m kinda biased because that show was the first musical I ever got really into. It’s what got me into listening to show tunes and the OBC Recording was the first piece of music I ever bought myself. 

Beetlejuice stole every scene he was in. He had so much charisma and impeccable comedic timing. Every joke landed and he even got my younger sibling (who doesn’t like musicals) to laugh. He had my favorite line: “I thought that only happened to books who turned kids gaaayyyyYyYyyYy 😩”(during the “puppet show”. Iykyk) 

Lydia was so talented. Like her belts???? I’m jealous. AND IT WAS HER PROFESSIONAL DEBUT!!!! She just graduated high school and she had THAT much talent. It was insane. 

Barbara and Adam were so cute and had such great chemistry. With each other and with Beetlejuice. They bounced off each other well and they were the perfect Adorable Maitlands I love from the movie ❤️. 

Charles had me tearing up when he has that talk with Lydia in the Netherworld. Like sir I was gonna CRY. And Delia had such great physicality and put a really cool spin on Delia. 

Honestly I loved every minute of it. I’m so blessed to have finally been able to see the show that made me love theater so much.

You half-heartedly roll your eyes from your place on top of the kitchen counter.

You’ve never felt as at ease as you do right now. Gojo has always been the strongest, never letting his gaze soften or his guard down. The fact he does both when he’s with you makes a bashful grin tug at your cheeks.

“We still have a billion more packs.” Walking up to you, Satoru sets his hands your waist, peering up at you with his bright blue eyes.

Eyes so blue you could swim in and happily get lost in forever. You wrap your arms around him playing with the white baby hairs on the nape of his neck. The sound of the TV in the living room filling your shared apartment.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice be a doll the lecture!”

“BEETLEJUICE the musical” playing as background noise with the volume turned all the way down.

It’s obvious you put this movie on.

The white haired idiot forms a smug grin, “You look comfortable, don’t you.” He eyes the warm fleece you’re wearing up and down.

The fleece that you stole from him.

“I’m so warm.” Your voice lowers, as you lean down closer to more warmth– his warmth.

He’s looks so good right now and the domesticity of it all is catching up to you.

“Yeah?” His gaze drops to your lips, as you absentmindedly lick them. His eyes heavy in desire.

“Mhm.” Your nod, lips brushing his as you bringing him into a soft kiss. Your hand steady on his neck, as his hands tighten on your waist.

You love him, and he love you. You’re sure of it– he’s sure of it. You both could get used to doing things like this. It seems like you both are already used to it anyway.

Before the kiss can go any further a loud shrill startles you making your head shoot up and bump into the overhead cabinet behind you.

The cookies are done.

Before anything else, a hand immediately covers the back of your head rubbing it so gently, your heart tingles.

“Careful.” Satoru glares while picking you up to take you off the counter top. Your sock covered feet softly hit the ground of the hardwood floor.

Following closely behind your boyfriend, you shut off the timer as he opens the oven.

You frown glaring at the blue eyed man beside you. He picks one up inspecting it.

He burnt the cookies like you said he would.

“Satoruuuu,” You whine pushing him lightly.

“I really wanted those cookies.” He stares at you, biting back a laugh.

“I’m sure they’re fine, they can’t be that bad.” Blowing one off as much as Satoru could, he takes a bite.

Quickly his grin turns into a frown. He immediately starts coughing, the burnt cookie attacking him. Satoru drops the cookie, rushing to the nearest water source.

Your laughter bubbles over as you kneel over. He’s so stupid, but so cute.

Hearing you laugh makes his heart feel all fuzzy, warmer than anything that fleece could make you feel. He would choke on a burnt cookie a million times over if it meant he could hear you laugh again.

You rub his back soothingly as he gulps water from the sink. You shrug, starting to speak, “At least I bought extra.”

“I’ll make-“

“You’re not making anything, ever.”

What the different Romeros would being doing to celebrate their birthday

Our main boy would probably hold a lavish party to celebrate himself and purposely not invite Dallas. He’d be fully dressed up and have lots of strawberries. All kinds of desserts and food, loud music, the works. He and his boyfriend Bastian would dance and watch the stars afterwards. Maybe at the end of the night, he’d get the old gang together. Flynn, Artemis, Spencer, Harper, Cecelia, Dallas and himself. They’d laugh and joke like they used to and for a time, it’ll feel like nothing had changed. Maybe the portraits in the hallway will wish him a happy birthday as he makes his way to bed.

Warped Romero probably got the day off so he could spend time with Bastian. Artemis would make sure nothing went wrong so he has the perfect birthday. He gets to sleep in, have some breakfast, maybe even see his family. The day will mainly be spent with Bastian and Artemis who likes to always check up on him. He gets to rest and relax before going right back to work the next day.

Romero in Acrobat’s world is probably spending his birthday alone. Maybe he called Artemis to hang out with him since his father was more than likely too busy to notice what day it was. The Astrophel family isn’t too well likes because of their business so it isn’t out of the ordinary for him to spend it alone. But at least he has one person who came to celebrate. He ordered a strawberry ice cream cake and shared it with Artemis and Carnage (Carnage ate most of it.)

Bird Eater (Spider-Man Romero) definitely spent the day outside, hanging out with Cecelia and Spencer who were determined to give him a good birthday. Unbeknownst to him, they stole gifts and cake from shops and prepared a miniature party for him. He got time to tend to his garden and make jam from his strawberry plant named Jen. She was a gift from a friend. ( @burnt-pheonix ) Spencer made sure that none of the other villains dared to try anything that might ruin his birthday while Cecelia planned a nice date for Romero and Bastian. Bastian managed to swipe an expensive pair of earrings for him, against Romero’s wishes. All in all, one of his more peaceful days.

Roadtrip Romero got to go to his favorite museum and spend the day wandering around and buying things from the gift shop. Maybe afterwards, he got to go to the beach, buy all the taffy he wants while Dallas joked about the birds on the beach being his relatives.

Neither Beetlejuice Romero, nor Haunted House Romero would do much to celebrate since they’re dead. Possibly mess around but nothing special.

Sitcom Romero had a classic birthday episode. No one seemed to remember it was his birthday and Artemis was left to spend the day with him doing boring things. Meanwhile back at the house, Dallas organized a huge party for his best friend, having Bastian be a surprise guest. By the end of the night, Romero is frustrated and tired, but when he walks in, he’s surprised by all his friends and family.

Knight au Romero spent the entire day with his most loyal knight, Dallas. They hung out just like they always did, getting treats and having fun.

And last but not least, Salvaged au Romero got to celebrate with everyone in the void house, trying to enjoy the day even though it reminded him of painful memories

The strange claiming of Holiday content

Ever notice that a lost of stuff that was not originally Halloween related (or even things that were not originally Christmas related) tend to get adopted as part of that holiday. For example: The song "Baby, it's Cold Outside" was written by a Jewish, husband and wife team who were essentially joking about a couple making up excuses so no one would talk about it being scandalous if the woman stayed the night. (Many misinterpret it as a man not taking "No" as answer). Frosty the Snow Man doesn't mention Christmas at all either but I certain adaptations place the events at Christmas. Winter Wonderland doesn't mention anything specifically Christmas. And some online Holiday radio stations even play "Let it go" from Frozen as a Christmas song because it talks about Winter Weather. We just automatically let anything that is "Wintery" get adopted as Christmas. And just like with winter and Christmas, all things spooky get associated with Halloween and frustratingly get claimed as being "only for Halloween" as a result. Example: Movies like Beetlejuice, Sleepy Hollow, Fright Night, Lost Boys, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Interview with The Vampire were NOT released around Halloween and yet today many people won't watch some of those except at Halloween. The mini-series Over the Garden Wall originally aired in November. It was based on vintage Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas postcards and now people only associate it with Halloween. The songs Thriller and Ghostbusters were NOT released at Halloween and yet now they are considered "Halloween music" and most radio stations won't play them except around Halloween. Even the song Monster Mash (which many people consider to be THE Halloween party song (or it was before Danny Elfman wrote "This is Halloween."). Monster Mash was actually originally released in the summer time. It as a fun novelty song but it doesn't even mention Halloween. None of these songs do. Also strangely the song Most Wonderful time of the Year (which is about Christmas season) mentions "There will be scary Ghost stories" and yet we now only associate scary ghost stories with Halloween. There are actually many Christmas Ghost stories but they've fallen into obscurity for just the many, many, many adaptations and reimaginings of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. I used to have a book called "Charles Dickens Christmas Ghost Stories." and it contained stories like The Goblins who stole a Sexton, The Signal Man, and the novella, A Christmas Carol. Today, it's like the cultural collective decided scary things don't belong at Christmas and the only ghost story allowed is A Christmas Carol (even though Charles Dickens, himself, actually had other Christmas ghost stories). My point is... I think it's foolish to relegate the things you love to only one day (or month) out of the year, especially since it was just a colletive zeitgeist that decided "Oh, that belongs to this part of the year." If you like something and others think of it as Christmasy or Halloween-y, don't feel ashamed for wanting to enjoy it all year long. Ps. Why do people count Die Hard as a Christmas movie but not Legend of Hell House? Legend of Hell House ends on Christmas day.

He’s really intense like Lloyd, but I think he could love the right person so deeply and would do anything to protect them. Oh!! Lloyd Hansen was a surprise to me and it took me a couple of months to finally Feel Things for him... normally I lean more towards whimsical, mysterious antagonists with an iconic evil laugh (i.e. NPH's Count Olaf, Plankton, Dr. Horrible, Beetlejuice, etc) especially when they're dressed in a cape/trench coat, top hat, something like that. Lloyd is uhhh. special. :) he doesn't have any of those things yet he still kinda stole my heart regardless. Don't tell him I said that, though... his ego is big enough 😂

Patrick Bateman!!! I've read that name a couple of times, I think someone else has also recommended him to me as F/O material in the past??? I'm SO squeamish though, I don't know if I'd be able to watch American Psycho bc I've heard there's some uh, especially violent/abusive themes, and I'm a little wounded if I see something physically violent towards a woman or an animal... or I've heard that this character in particular is also violent during/after sexual acts(???) I don't know for sure tho, I could be wrong.

ANYWAY one of my best friends loves that movie and I'm more than willing to watch it with them if they can give me a heads up on all of the scary parts while we stream it together so I can mentally prepare haha (and I will say, it would be really, really, really nice to be able to look at a horrible, monstrous serial killer and think to myself with FULL confidence "oh, he would never hurt me. he'd use this energy to protect me. I'm the exception 🥰" I used to be able to think this way very easily until a year ago, but I am working on it!!!! maybe this will be a good exercise or something... for me to watch this character do some really really vile terrible things and think to myself "wow he loves me SO MUCH" LOL I managed to do that for Lloyd anyways! so who knows~)

Not a House, But a Home

AHHHH ok ok this was SO fun to write because it's pre-musical Maitlands!! As someone with a deep love for technical theatre, it was fun trying to imagine what the house would be like before the events of the musical. Scenic design is a fun hobby of mine and I love what a set will say about the characters that interact with it!!

Okay so usually when I'm first encountering a prompt/idea, I get clear image of like...the center of the fic? or at least one very specific scene that I can sort of stretch like taffy and build on. The one for this fic was Barbara with the wallpaper! The very first decision I made was that they'd be fixing up the house a bit. It felt in character to me for the Maitlands to literally fix every goddamn thing they could think of instead of like...confronting their mortality LMAO so I wanted to go to a period of their life that felt new and fresh! Also I really love the pastel green wallpaper that they use on the set for the show and I thought it would be sweet if Barbara was the one to put that up. Something something she wears green the house is green something something good luck charm

Then of course the JOKES!! I'm a dad joke connoisseur myself, so it was really fun getting to pick ones for Adam to use. All the jokes in the fic are ones I've used myself, but I looked them up online for specific phrasing. It was really fun getting to play with Adam's delivery actually! To me, Adam has absolutely zero doubt that he's hilarious and will just keep on truckin' until he makes someone laugh. He's so fun to write! He's mischievous and loving and so very white, bless his heart.

I think the core of their relationship is 100% that Barbara and Adam are each other's best friends, y'know? They feel like high school or college sweethearts, or the result of a meet-cute--something sweet and forever-binding. They can't leave Target without buying a million useless things and they take turns either pretending the baby section isn't there or going in and cooing over the little onesies. They slow dance in the kitchen with no music. They have loud, dramatic sing-alongs in the minivan. I think part of that comes from being married/together, but a lot of it is just loving each other's quirks and company.

Also I wrote this in the tags of the og post but I kept making myself laugh writing it by imagining Beetlejuice like...in their walls commenting on the events and such. He's such a wretched little creature I love him dearly. During Ready Set, Not Yet when you see it live, he's bopping around and scatting with 3-D glasses and popcorn literally waiting for them to die it's so fucking funny

Strange Exhilaration

baby's first wicked fic! Wicked will always have a special place in my heart tbh and it was fun bringing back those memories.

This fic was a gift that I whipped up in a couple days, so I didn't sit with it as long as I do some of my other prompts. It was actually nice to do that. It forced me not to overthink what I was doing.

Writing Glinda was a challenge but a welcome one? She speaks in such a specific way but because the show's been running so long, it's basically a new role each time a new actress steps in. I've only ever seen it live once and that was four or five years ago? So it wasn't super fresh in my mind. It was fun trying to reconcile what I remember with what I needed from Glinda. Her vocabulary is everything to me. I stole 'seriosity' (which is a real word but hasn't been used in ages) from Newsies because I had literally just seen it, but the rest were sorta off the cuff!!

okay so first: girlies. jot that down. I love Glinda and Elphaba's friendship and all the tropes that they encompass both together and apart. Whether or not you actually ship it, I do think it's important to write them as if they're a little in love with each other...because they are! I approach the center of their dynamic like this (and I write a lot of deep friendships this way) and it really makes their intimate moments shine ;w;

Elphaba having ticklish hands and Glinda being a teasy sunshine ler were both happy accidents but so fun to write. RIP Elphaba, me too buddy. Hands are mean. But I think it speaks back to their friendship in a sweet way? Elphaba being startled and embarassed by her own softness and Glinda being genuinely 100% delighted by it is so wholesome and true to them, I think. Then of course the reverse of Elphaba allowing herself to be playful and mischievous and Glinda clearly having the time of her life. Ahhhh I love them!!!!

I was fighting for my LIFE not to use 'wicked' or 'bubbly' as adjectives in case it was corny...I think I only did it once or twice each though. I'm so brave.

What are Chrissy’s favorite movies? Favorite albums? What does her typical outfit look like when she’s out of her cheerleading uniform?

Chrissy loves movies, so jot that down. Her all time favorite movie is the 1978 Lord Of The Rings cartoon. She and her brother used to watch it all the time as kids, and it is the reason she loves Middle Earth so much. She wanted to be Galadriel when she was a little girl. She's a giant nerd.

But if someone were to ask Chrissy what her favorite movie is? She would instantly say Heathers or Top Gun. She can quote the entirety of Heathers from memory and WILL reference it if it comes up. Once she comes back to life, Chrissy begins embracing her nerd side and lets more people know she loves fantasy. She also begins watching movies for her and not for her image. She watches movies like The Goonies, Beetlejuice, Ferris Bueller, etc. She accepts the fact that it's okay to like something that's silly and fun and not everything is about what people want from you. She learns how to have fun!!!

As for music? This girl loves pop music. GVD said her Vecna song would be Uptown Girl and I fully agree. Chrissy has every Billy Joel album as well as all of Elton John's and ABBA's. She also loves Cyndi Lauper and the Beatles. She also loves a good power ballad. Her go to karaoke song is "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" and she will belt it. When she's with her Boys(thats her nickname for Gareth and Jeff), she listens to whatever music they have playing. She's also Corroded Coffin's biggest fan. Chrissy doesn't always understand their music, but she supports them and their dreams.

One of her favorite memories is right after Jeff starts dating her and Gareth. The three of them were hanging out after band practice and snuggling on Jeff's bed, all in various states of nakedness. They were smoking some of Jeff's finest stash and just...enjoying being together. Marvin Gaye was playing from Mr Quince's record player in another room and it was pure bliss for her. That was the moment Chrissy realized how much she loved Jeff and Gareth.

When Chrissy isn't in uniform, her wardrobe changes. If she's having a good self esteem and body image day, she'll wear knee highs, a skirt, and a cute blouse. Other days, she'll wear jeans and a tee shirt. Her closet is filled with clothes she stole from her boyfriends and her brother, and sometimes she will walk around her apartment in a bra and an old tee shirt. Her hair is perfectly done nine times out of ten and she loves doing her makeup. During the colder months, Chrissy likes to bundle up. Instead of knee highs, Chrissy wears tights and can rock a turtleneck. She loves dressing femininely and is an ultimate girly-girl. It never fails to make her laugh that her two boyfriends are in a metal band.

with the ideas i have currently, its almost a reverse? sorta firstborn-esque, i guess i know what i like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

my current idea for how they meet is beetlejuice finding her at the night market. she was caught by demon trappers - shes not a demon but shes a strange creature by isles standards, and with how the clearly sentient king is repeatedly seen as/called a pet or possession i feel like this isnt too far out of the realm of possibility. thats why i said shes found herself in unsavoury circles, shes immediately thrust into the dodgiest possible place, the night market, and surrounded by the kind of people who frequent it. he finds her caged and scared but trying to put on a brave face. part of their first exchange goes something like:

lydia: so youre going to buy me, then? like a fucking animal?

beej: course not. im gonna steal you

so he steals her. and in terms of her perspective, thats an important distinction. he didnt rescue her, he stole her, and as far as shes concerned shes just gone from one captor to another. he brings her back to his hole, tells her about the curse, and proposes the deal. theres some miscommunication there: beetlejuice means it as an option she can walk away from, if she said no hed have tried to convince her to change her mind, sure, but ultimately if she refused hed probably have just dropped her in bonesbourough in the morning. but she interprets it more as 'help me with the curse and i'll eventually let you go'. she agrees quickly because she thinks its the only way to get her captor to feed her. she probably still would have agreed if she properly understood the terms, but she would have put more thought into it.

but she realises, as time goes on, that he doesnt treat her as a prisoner like she expected. he makes no effort to prevent her from leaving, hes generally friendly towards her, theres no consequences for snapping at him. and eventually she asks over dinner what he would have done if she refused the deal, and he says the thing about bonesborough, and she realises he was never actually holding her prisoner. she'd thought that him referring to her as an apprentice was just a way to make the situation sound more savoury, but turns out it was genuine. that exchange probably happened before they meet eda and luz, but im not certain on that

Ink (2009)

Ink is a movie about extraplanar entities, invisible to our plane, who visit us at night and deliver dreams (or nightmares). One night, a young girl's soul is kidnapped, leaving her waking body comatose. Allel, a Dreamgiver, must hunt down the creature who stole her before it's too late.

Ink is another movie that I love dearly! I love the worldbuilding, the characters, the use of music and lighting.

It's not a very well-known movie, which is a shame, because I feel like it could have a fairly strong following if more people got to see it.

So let's talk about it! Review under the cut, and as always, SPOILERS ahead!

Alright, STRICTLY SPEAKING, Ink is not a horror movie. It's more of a fantasy with some elements of horror and suspense. But this is my review blog and I do what I want.

The movie opens up with a scene of a little girl (Emma) and her father (John) spending time together one morning. She wants to play pretend, but Dad is awkward, like he's not sure how playing pretend works, but he gives in and tries anyway, leaping out of his comfort zone and into her world of pretend beasties and forts they must defend. it's really cute, if a little too brightly lit.

Then we are introduced to a core concept of the movie- the Dreamgivers. As the neighborhood falls asleep, dozens of individuals literally POP into existence and slip into their homes, where they deliver sweet dreams through a gentle touch. It is weirdly shot in some places, though, reminding me of a medication commercial, but I suppose that can be the nature of dreams.

The Dreamgivers just look like regular people, in contrast to their opposites, the Incubi, who are dressed in black shiny trenchcoats and have their faces projected onto a screen like a mask. The Incubi deliver nightmares, as you might expect, though not through touch- they simply sidle up to a sleeper and whisper negativity that influences the dreams.

I like how differently the two factions are portrayed- the Dreamgivers are warm, personal, almost loving in their duties, while the Incubi are cold and impersonal, projecting fears and insecurities on their victims from afar.

In this world, however, there are more than just Dreamgivers and Incubi, and we meet our primary antagonist, Ink, when he POPs into existence and steals Emma, who is living with her grandparents. Except, he has stolen her on This side of reality- the Dreamers' side- leaving her physical body there without a soul.

Our Dreamgiver protag Allel tries to fight Ink off, and is backed up by some of her compatriots, giving us a really cool detail about the Dreamside World. When objects are damaged, such as furniture, it reverses itself back into its normal state moments later. It's a really cool visual and helps to establish the fact that Dreamsiders can't affect the real world.

Ink kicks everyone's ass and manages to escape with Emma's soul by playing a funky lil beat on a hand drum, which opens a gateway they vanish into. That, in itself, is a cool ass concept. Let me just play a little ditty and get gone.

Ink (the character) is a tragic figure. During the course of the movie, we learn his goal is to become an Incubus- detached, unfeeling, perfectly formed. We are told that his entry into the Dreamside was painful, and when we get a face reveal, we see he is covered in scars, with an almost comically enlarged nose (think close to Adam Maitland's character transformation in Beetlejuice for a comparison) and only a few long thin strands of hair on his otherwise bald, scarred head. he intends to deliver Emma's soul in exchange for this new status.

See, the Dreamside is implied to be the Afterlife. There are angelic figures like Liev the Storyteller; demonic figures like the Incubus Prince; drifters, like Ink, who used to be human but never settled into one side or the other; and Pathfinders who can hear the beat of the world and actually influence it.

The Pathfinder we meet is a blind man named Jacob who serves as a guide and comedic relief from some of the dramatic tension, and is also my second favorite character behind Emma. He seems deeply unserious, but he's dedicated to the task at hand- saving Emma's soul before her body expires. He's just gonna give Allel shit about it the whole time. ("What are we supposed to do when we find Emma on the other side?" "SHAKE THE SHIT OUT OF HER.")

His ability to affect the world gives us my absolute favorite sequence in the movie- he opens his little case he's been carrying and through it, emits a soft little gust of wind that sets off a chain reaction eventually culminating in a car wreck that sends Emma's father to the same hospital she's in. (Even if you don't want to watch this entire movie I do highly recommend looking up that scene on Youtube!)

This movie is an artistic one, utilizing light and environmental storytelling to provide a lot of the details- for example, when John is actively being influenced by an Incubus, the world around him dims, then darkens considerably, showing just how alone he feels in his misery and anger. During the first Flashback sequence, he is shown to be (literally) in the spotlight at work, over and over, congratulated for his business sense and smart dealings, while at home the light is dim as his wife pleads for him to stop working such long hours and spending so much time away from the family.

The movie also uses color to signify which layer of reality we're in- the real world is often overly bright, but colorful, where the Dreamside is mostly gray and muted. I like visual cues that communicate to the viewer details like that, helps me keep track of what's going on and where we are.

The Twist of the movie is decently set up and can be figured out if you're paying attention, but don't feel bad if you don't, since there is some timey wimey bullshit going on. Alternate Worlds love having time work differently than the real one, and while it may be a cliche, it's a fun story element that opens up more possibilities.

Ink is John. Or, at least, a version of him that could be, if he keeps on the path he's on right now. Ink is what happens when John ignores his daughter's condition and continues to work and do coke and withdraw from the only family he has left, resulting in Emma's death. Ink is what happens when John gets so low he takes his own life.

The Final Battle is a fantastic scene- on the Dreamside, we have a handful of Dreamgivers fighting to keep the Incubi who are swarming the hospital at bay and away from John so he can make his own choice; on the reality side of things, we have a normal day in a hospital, with John wandering down the halls in search of Emma. There's a sense of urgency and a rapidly approaching time limit on the Dreamside, but in the real world it's peaceful, almost dreamlike.

Ink/John's journey to recovery parallels how hard it is to come back from the darkness in our own world. How the promise of relief from your pain can be so seductive that you'd give up anything, everything, just to be free. How hard it is to let go of your resentment and admit when you're wrong, when you need help. How even a hand extended in friendship can seem like a threat.

This movie ends on a good note, leaving me with a sense of relief and satisfaction. As I said before, it's not so much a true horror movie as it is a fantasy with some horror elements, so that's probably why it has such a happy ending, but I digress.

I give this one ten ghosts outta ten, because I love the story, the worldbuilding, the visual effects, and the characters a hell of a lot. And because Jacob is right, sometimes you really do just gotta shake the shit outta people. (Maybe don't orchestrate a car accident as your first option though.)

I had the best dream ever, fashion-wise, last night.

I dreamt that my family and I were in our old apartment. I was magically starting to wear Elvis’ clothes from the 70′s and had my hair matching his. Every time my mom tried to brush it, it would go back to the style Elvis had. For context and clarity, I have shoulder-length hair that is mostly black (I have highlights that are fading back to black). Below is a picture of the hairstyle, accessories, and clothes.

Anyway, I was being sent off to school, which was the last day and I was by a creek, wearing his boots. My outfits kept changing but I was still wearing the sunglasses. I continued to cross the creek and was walking in the woods, in some odd, Little Red Riding Hood kind of thing, hoping for the Wolf to come. The Wolf didn’t show, but then, I was on a bus, in my regular clothes, but I was on my way to a talent competition, hosted by Elvis, held at this church, and the winner would get $200,000 USD. I was the entry from the bus besides this older Mexican guy singing Cielito Lindo. 

So, we get there and some kid played “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” on his violin. Then, the cast of Beetlejuice: The Musical shows up and does “The Whole Being Dead Thing,” which I was singing along to, in my Beetlejuice voice. Someone stole my debit, medical insurance, and Social Security cards, but I got them back (I know it’s bad to keep my Social Security card in my wallet, but it’s the only place secure enough to where I don’t lose it in the dream.) I was next to sing, but I woke up.
