so much of what happened holds great significance not only to harry but to every single one of us. him acknowledging the flags, asking the fans to hold them up proudly, and thanking the audience for creating such a safe environment at his shows -- all these things weren't done in solidarity alone, they came from the heart of someone who's very much in the same community as us. he wants those flags there, he wants that pride there, he wants this safe space for both himself and for us, as has been the case for years now. the speech that he gave today came from a place of familiarity, he couldn't have said those words in the way that he did if he were just an ally. it was one of the very few times he acknowledged the flags using his words and i think that's monumental. rainbows are basically synonymous to harry's concerts now and it's because we felt safe and proud enough to do it and he wanted us to do it because he feels safe and proud too. i hope every single person who's been part of this fandom knows just how important whatever you do is. you are all important.

My Policeman Review
Okay I was initially going to wait until tomorrow to write this (or rather later in the day as it's currently about 2 am by me) but I needed to pen out my thoughts while they're fresh in my mind.
I did think the movie was beautifully done. It was aesthetically pleasing and visually appealing. I noticed quite a few touches that made it unique to Michael, such as the heavy use of mirrors and the background blurring into the foreground (and I know these aren't specially unique to him but I wouldn't say these are super common features in the films I've personally watched).
David Dawson, Emma Corrin, and Rupert Everett were the stars of the show, in my opinion. The whole cast is talented but I was especially drawn to these three. Really tugged my heart strings at times 😀
I cried. Like A LOT lmao full on sobbed at the end, I won't lie to you. I did while reading the book, too. It's just such a sad and unfair story. I can't even type this without getting emotional so perhaps we can talk about it after I get some sleep lmao
I wish some of the scenes were longer. I understand there's a lot to cover in a short amount of time, but some of the scenes felt rushed (i.e. Tom and Marion's first kiss scene). Sometimes I just wish there was more to it. I wonder if I felt so strongly about the movie because of how I felt while reading the book. Like if I only saw the movie I wonder how I'd feel.
Harry's acting...*sigh*. I tried so hard to like it, I promise. I really loved the book and I thought the movie was almost as good. But Harry's acting is just questionable. I found myself kind of frustrated at parts because of how forced it seemed. And I don't blame him. I don't think it's his fault. He's not super experienced and it's pretty different from his normal career. I just...wish he was better? Idk how to say this without people taking personal offense to it but that's my opinion.
Also, in case people ask, I'd say he was better in this than DWD but not by a lot. And that's not necessarily on the directors but it's solely on the fact that he's just not a strong actor, again in my opinion.
Lastly, I just want to add something about my personal thoughts on the story as a whole and not just the film.
I've said it a couple times but for those who don't know, I identify as queer (I say bisexual but my definition most closely resembles pansexual). I'm very fortunate to live in an age where queerness is more accepted. However, I think I felt so strongly about this story because as a queer person, I can relate a little bit. Obviously not to the same extreme, I understand that. But in my experience, it's still slightly terrifying.
I'm pretty open about my sexuality here and with my friends. And while although most of my family knows, it's not something I openly talk about with them. My mom's side is rather accepting, with the occasional homophobic comment from the more conservative members. And my dad's side doesn't speak to me anymore. It's mentally exhausting and unless you've been through it, it's really hard to explain what it feels like. My Policeman helps explain that feeling, at least a little bit.
I'm happy to talk about it more if you'd like.
And I just wanted to mention that ^^ so some of you can understand why I really love this book so much. It's a heartbreaking story but it's also a feeling that's hard to explain through words alone.
But yeah those are my general thoughts. I need to sleep now because my eyes are actually burning and swollen from crying LMAO but yeah we'll circle back ♥︎

And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
yes, it's 2:32am, I should sleep BUT I wrote about harry and the cat that Lily talks about in her letter to Sirius
and yes, her name is inspired by Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, don't ask me why (the title too, it's the song: somewhere over the rainbow)
thanks to @petalstofish fanfic about Lily not crying anymore too!!!
---------------
"Dorothea loves Harry," Lily says, watching her son crawl along beside the cat, who calmly paces around the room, as if waiting for him.
''I still hate that name,'' James says, but he's smiling, also looking at the scene. ''But yes, Dorothy loves him,'' The cat stops as soon as they arrive at the mattress on the floor that they have laid for Harry to lie on, she waits patiently for Harry who climbs up and lies down on the pillow, clutching a blanket that really needed to be washed.
''It's Dorothea, please, and it's a beautiful name, and it means-''
''Gift of the Gods, yes, you already told me that.''
''It's just that I think it fits... She showed up on our doorstep as soon as we found out I was pregnant, it was too much of a coincidence, and since then she's been very attached to Harry, even before he was born... Remember how she liked to lie on my belly and feel him move?'' Lily said, nostalgia lulling her voice, watching as Harry started to mumble something, looking up at the ceiling that James had bewitched to show the stars, while the cat was lying next to him.
''Dorothy probably just wanted a quiet life, but now she has a baby who loves hold her like a doll and won't leave her alone,'' James chuckled. ''She's good company for him,''
''Absolutely,'' Lily smiled, feeling that watching such a trivial and domestic scene made her feel a little less terrified of the war.
Inside, in their house, Harry was happy, loved, and his only concern was having Dorothea by his side in everything he was going to do. Forget the prophecy and Voldemort, that little boy, was only caring about eating, sleeping, and playing with his best friend.
''When this is all over,'' And it will be, Lily completed in her mind. ‘’We must have another child. And one more cat, maybe a dog too... We'll buy a bigger house if we need to... And we'll be very happy,''
''Yes,'' James squeezed her hand. Not that they weren't happy, but it was different when there wasn't a war to worry about. ''Let's fill our house with life and happiness... Dorothy needs more children to play with.''

Back to Tempo trio we go
"You're Peter Parker, yes?'
Peter looked at the man who looked like Harry's dad but...off. Nothing he could put his finger on though, and his spider sense was silent. "Yes?"
"Excellent. I was wondering if we could have a little talk. Mostly about Harry."
Was this a family thing? Was he getting in the middle of an Osborn family mess. "Aunt May's expecting me back soon."
"We can talk while we walk." The man strode beside him and Peter realized short of running he wasn't going to get rid of him. Hopefully he wasn't going to make things too much worse for him.
"I suppose I should get the first question out of the way. Are you Spiderman?"
Peter whipped his head around in shock, the blood draining from his face. "I thought as much. You do need to work on your pokerface though."
"Why...how?"
"Because in my reality my son's best friend turned out to be Spiderman. I thought it might be the same here."
"You're reality? You're saying you're a different version of Normal Osborn? And your son's a different version of Harry?" Peter asked, somewhat disbelieving.
"I am a different version of Normal Osborn, yes. But my son, Lewis is significantly different enough that though Harry is his middle name, I would not count them as the same person. But now the most important question. Is Harry happy?" Not what he was expecting after the Spiderman accusation. "Why do you ask?"
He was silent for a moment. "My father hid the birth of my son from me. I didn't realize he existed for several years later. He had been adopted to a good home and I left him there because...because I wasn't sure I could give him a good home. I hated my father for who he was and who he tried to turn me into and I was terrified that on some level he had succeeded. That I would raise Lewis as he had raised me. The truth eventfully came out, of course, and I am grateful Lewis is giving me a chance to be in his life, but I haven't challenged for custody and I won't. Because I trust his adoptive parent to do what's best for him more than I trust myself."
"When I met the Normal Osborn of this world I saw everything about myself that I feared becoming. A man who was truly his father's son. And that he had a son he raised on his own and...is Harry happy, Peter? Is he loved? Does he know that he's loved?"
"They love each other, but I don't think either knows how to show it." Peter admitted. "And they get frustrated with each other because of it. And Mr. Osborn has his company to run so he doesn't have a lot of time and sometimes Harry feels like he doesn't see him, just his heir and..."
"Not quite the nightmare scenario, but close enough." Norman pinched his nose. "i'm going to see if I can help, possibly bring Harry temporarily through to portal to spend time with his 'cousin'. Thank you. And you really should tell someone you're Spiderman. Arthur, Lewis's friend, tried to go it by himself for the longest time. Then he started to work with some other heroes, Ghost and Squirrel Girl, and came clean to Lewis and their mutual friend Vivi. He's been a lot healthier for it. And the very least tell your Aunt, who I trust is a real person?"
That got a look of confusion. "Of course she is! Why would you even-" Wait. "Did...Arthur?...lie about having an Aunt."
"Not an Aunt per se. It was well know his Uncle never married. But he certainly did give everyone the impression he had a guardian and wasn't living alone in his Uncle's house struggling to get by after said Uncle was shot."
Peter felt his stomach drop. He couldn't imagine not having Aunt May, especially after losing Uncle Ben. "If you hurt Harry, I'm coming after you."
Normal laughed. "You'll have to get in line I'm afraid."

Gonna throw some more Careful stanning in the ring and say that I actually really really appreciate how it seems that her only ambitions -for lack of a better word- in life is to be a mother, a good mother at that. She just wants to be there for her cubs and keep them out of harm. And honestly in a media world that pushes the strong, no-children ambitious women characters, it's actually kinda refreshing to see a female character who simply just wants to be a good mom/housewife in her life and enjoys it at that. Nothing against the former trope ofc! But seeing it so much kinda makes me understand just how "simple" she wants her life to be in a way. It makes me hope even more for her to get out of the situation she's in with her pride even more and hope she can live her life in peace where she and her litter can be safe.
Anyways yeah, we stan Careful. Love a gal with simple pleasures tbh.
ahh thank you so much, anon. ^^
Despite being childfree and having no desire to have kids of my own for a variety of reasons, I've always loved parents in media go above and beyond for their kids. There's just something so endearing about it. Harry Mason from Silent Hill is one example. He's not even willing to sit back and let the cops handle everything, he's going to look for his kid in this scary ass town. Even though he's never even held a gun before. It's just such a great character archetype.
If it were me, I'd probably just curl in a ball and cry. lol
We also wanted to show that being in an abusive situation when you have young kids is beyond terrifying. I won't lie, I lowkey get quite mad when people criticise Careful for not being more outspoken about Jasper's treatment of her family. Until you're in that kind of situation yourself, you honestly can't judge a mother for being scared out of her mind for her children to the point where she'll lay low and be submissive to keep them safe. It's not that she doesn't give a shit. It's entirely the opposite. She does care about Hope and her situation, but her cubs (who are still tiny and have no-one to protect them but her) are her world. She sticks up for Hope and you know what happens in her mind? Jasper decides she doesn't deserve the privilege of raising HIS children so he takes them away from her or worse.
Just because Careful's cubs are not main players in the comic does not mean that their safety and well-being does not matter.
It's also worth noting that her situation is an ongoing one which we intend to resolve. There's the flip side to the coin when it comes to abuse victims. Some take longer to stand up for themselves than others and that's OK. It's OK to be scared if you're being abused. It's OK to do whatever it takes to survive. You're not weak for being afraid. You're certainly not weak when your concern is for somebody else, like your children. That is what Careful represents for us and I'm so glad you get it, anon. She may not have thrown out a fist like Clever or Hope but she's still a fighter, she still holds on for her kids. - RJ

(daemons)
"Hey, boss' fucktoy! What's up?"
Ichigo rolls his eyes as Rikuto goes on her hind legs to swat at the fat-tailed lizard on Di Roy's shoulder. The little twerp sways to the side to dodge her, smirks at him all fucked-up teeth out, like he's proud of himself for that one.
Then Tatsuki steps forward boxer-fast and flicks him on the ear. Di Roy hisses like a teakettle and swipes back a lot more seriously, but she dodges that, smirking.
Tatsuki has, honestly, gotten even more terrifying ever since she met the lot of them. Ichigo hadn't thought that was even possible. He has regrets.
It's fun, though, so.
"Yo, Tatsukisaki." He waves his fingers, thumb still firmly stuck in his belt loop, then puts them right back into his pockets. Kisaki grunts back, flops on his side in the dust to allow Rikuto to nuzzle briefly at the edge between black and white fur along his flank, long claws stretched before him. It's maybe three more seconds before his show of disinterest is over and he's standing back up to go harry Di Roy's fat lizard-thing.
Ichigo has been told that Di Roy's daemon is actually kind of pretty venomous, and he knows neither one of them has a problem with playing mean. If it were anyone else sparring with them, it might even worry him. A honey badger ain't gonna give a fuck, though.
"You're blind," she's telling Di Roy as she tries to shuffle-jog circles around him. "Grimmjow's the boytoy."
Ichigo makes a haughty face. "Hey. We all know that, but it's rude to say it."
-----
(abo)
"--Fuck. How long you been awake for?" If he heard about -- if he heard Grimmjow admitting to... Shit. Of course Kurosaki knows he saved him, he was there, but Grimmjow hates that it happened. Hates that he was so weak, so pitiful that Kurosaki needed to. He told himself he wasn't gonna bring it up again unless it was while he's demanding his rematch.
Won't be a rematch any time soon, though, will there? Not after this.
Feels pretty shitty, no lie.
"Mnh... 'Destroy him'? I think." Kurosaki smiles against his skin, still cuddled close and his body loose with trust. "You can try."
"I'm gonna do more than try, you piece of trash, I'm gonna take off your horns and keep them as a trophy."
He's expecting -- he's not sure. A return volley of trash talk? A reminder that right now Kurosaki has him bent over and stuffed full of his dick? Kurosaki just chuckles. "Yeah, they're pretty sweet, huh."
Grimmjow could see everyone calming down, and then Kurosaki goes and puts his mouth right on the nape of his neck.
