on marius' personal sweet chapter stories.....i just wanna talk about The Thing these stories (both sweet chapter story 1 and 2) are Doing and how it makes me really emotional cuz like

in marius' sweet chapter 1 story: we see marius and mc help out timmy through his grief of having recently lost his older brother. throughout the entire thing, marius struggles with his own emotions and feelings about giann's disappearance.

in marius' sweet chapter 2 story: we see that in marius' efforts to protect pax and the von hagen name so that giann will have a good standing to return to once he's found, marius finds himself inevitably having a hand in firing kenji, who takes the fall protect marius. kenji, whom marius sees as an older brother figure to him as well.

whats going on in both these stories: marius' emotions and fears being prodded at, even to the point of intense anger in sweet chapter 2, because the events make him go through whats essentially a secondhand experience of losing a brother.

in terms of this possibly being foreshadowing, i feel very "ONE FEAR" about it all because it's uhhhhh not looking good for giann von hagen ;-;

but in terms of characterization and story, i feel elated because it's these kinds of stories that really show off marius' character, especially the traits and feelings that he tries to hide or sweep under the rug.

in sweet chapter 1, marius consistently brushes off mc worrying about his feelings and then, once he does finally talk about his feelings, he does so in a very emotionally detached kind of way (i wrote more in depth about marius and emotional distancing in this analysis here).

to emotionally distance one's self is, one way or another, a method by which to avoid confronting something head on. timmy's experience paralleling marius' own worries and life is something that marius is afraid of tackling. because thats family hes talking about. and family means the world to him.

in sweet chapter 2, the revelation that kenji did what he did to protect marius got marius absolutely enraged the moment it became clear kenji, an older brother figure to marius, sacrificed himself for marius' sake. thats something that terrifying for marius, because thats not how it's supposed to go, for him. hes the one whos supposed to be protecting people, to shoulder the responsibility so others can get out unscathed, hes the one who needs to take on these burdens not because of pride or anything, but because he wants people to stop getting hurt because of him.

other people getting hurt for marius' sake is one of marius' biggest fears. it pops up so often in all his stories, either the fear itself and/or the measures he takes to prevent other people getting hurt: his childhood guilt over thinking he caused his mother's death (SSR All Through The Night), him moving to florence for his studie so that austin and giann wouldnt get bad press about the whole pax civil war succession thing (SSR Precious Mornings), him worried about causing a man's suicide (SSR Daytime Aurora), him guilty over his friend who got hurt in his name (SR Vibrant Graffiti) like my god, and those are just the ones off the top of my head!!!!

he even says this outright in the story, right after the confrontation with kenji

to marius, kenji taking the fall for him is another person who got hurt because of him. and the fact that he did it willingly to protect marius makes it worse, because thats such an older brother thing to do isnt it? marius saw him as family. family means the world to him.

but marius did not want to be the cause for another person having to suffer, and for another person having to be gone, in a way.

sweet chapter 1 showed us grief from the perspective of a younger brother whose older brother passed away.

sweet chapter 2 showed us an older brother sacrificing himself for a younger brother and having to leave because of that.

now remember what i said about secondhand experiences paralleling onto marius' life and his own worries about giann? yeah. like, no wonder marius got so affected, upset, and emotional in both these stories;

he doesnt want to say goodbye.

Its so annoying that like. I can have a 2 day flashback and then just forget entirely about it and go "yeah so that trauma literally cant have happened" shut the fuck up. It did. It happened. Lets consider all avenues. When did it happen? Where did it happen? Is this two+ isolated events? Or was it one repeat event? Or did it only happen once? Was it the church we went to? Was it that group trip we went on? Was it family? We seem to have a mental block on all three of those for a reason. Which one of them did this specific thing to us though? There has to be a reason we have such a bad religious trauma response and no memory of ever holding a religion. What happened there? Why cant you remember a face or voice or a single word said by whoever was in charge? But you can remember the other kids... why? You know you were there for years, right? Years. And you dont remember it. That has to mean something. The parking lot did always confuse you. Maybe theres a reason. Maybe theres a reason. Why are your memories trying so hard to change themselves right now? You see that too right? They're changing. They're hiding something. I wholeheartedly believe it happened there. Jason getting pragmatic and daaark, haha! Now THIS is a scene I would definately read over and over a million times, if it was fully written. How did the whole convo and (hypocritical) argument go? Did Peter manage to convince Jason that his position isn't in danger (probably)? Or did it leave a permanent rift between the two? Me loves some total drama action! By the by, did Stanhope get exposed or was he able to sweep it under the rug? What happened to him after the Frikoskii takeover?

Jason noticed it even before they got together, that Peter could make literally anyone fall for him. Regardless if it was only for sex, apparently he could make anyone love him. Not like he does, though. Jason’s love runs deep and spiritual. It’s why he believes in a god. But for everyone else it’s still just as threatening to his position. Him marrying Peter seemed completely impossible for 20+ years but now that it’s happened he’s gotten more territorial.

Jason one day made a comment towards Peter about how Stanhope looks at him with some “fuck me” eyes for a married republican. It threw Peter off because it’s been a few years since they last hooked up and he hadn’t payed attention to how Stanhope saw him since. So he offhandedly mentioned that they may of been a thing at one point. A “thing” is too much of a stretch, it was just hookups with some transactions here and there, but clearly one man caught feelings while the other was indifferent.

God Jason was PISSED. For multiple reasons. Which initially Peter thought Jason was saying he cheated, which he did not. Never did never will. But Jason’s mad cause how the fuck did a 66 year old man have sex with his husband before he did, why didn’t Peter ever tell him about this, and now he’s self conscious cause clearly the guy has no problems with how someone looks and people are already running after him. It’s just a bunch of insecurities, anger, jealousy, the whole lot. None of it makes sense to Peter cause he thought that he was making it clear that there wasn’t any strings attached to the man and that it was the past so who gives a shit. Plus how could Jason POSSIBLY think that he’d leave him for anyone, especially Stanhope of all people.

I wouldnt say it left a rift but after Anahii, Meredith, and Stanhope Jason is left really dejected and feeling like a last resort. I don’t even think he fully believes that Peter is gay. It takes communication and reassurance but the actual rift takes place with Jason acting like his flings don’t do the same thing to his husband. It’s hypocrisy even if it’s not malicious. It’s a source of their arguments. Even if you guys are perfect soulmates and known each other for years getting into a romantic relationship that entails some extra benefits isn’t easy and doesn’t come naturally.

As for Stanhope, early retirement when shit went down with Frikoski taking over and he fled with his wife and kids. He’s off grid after that. I will say he probably didn’t truly love Peter, just looooooved fucking him. But…

1) When did i claim abuse was a feminist movement?? I simply implied it was ridiculous that Stella should be cried over when she is obviously abusive and the fact that if it was man, you wouldnt be upset if he was one-dimensional. 2)the reason she might seem one-dimensional is because she was never meant to be a main character. I wouldn’t even count her as a major side character honestly. Antagonists aren’t always fleshed out. That being said I do agree that the female characters could use more backstory and depth. I never said they didn’t. I wasn’t talking about the way women were written in the show in general, I only spoke about Stella in regards to being abusive. Personally, I don’t see Stella as one-dimensional. I see someone who was born into and raised in a society where you’re praised for the image you give out to the public. I see someone obsessed with the idea of having a picture perfect life to the point of borderline insanity when that previously established image is threatened. To me, Stella doesn’t care about stolas’s feelings because she was never able to care about her own. I mean, the picture shown of her as a child just implies she was always a bit of a hot headed spoiled brat. Which, growing up practically royalty and getting everything you want from the time you (hatch, I guess) will do to some people.

3) again, in not any way did I say it was RIGHT or “excusable” that stolas cheated. I haven’t seen a single person praise stolas for cheating, just getting a divorce. Which WAS a good thing. It was a toxic relationship no matter what way you look at it.

The beginning of the second episode goes into detail of how it changed the relationship with his daughter and how Stella feels about their ruined image. So when Ladybug and Chat noir have the whole Creation destruction vibe going for it, it was one of the main reasons I got into the show.

The whole vibe that the two miraculous together can change the universe is amazing.

The fact that they balance eachother out is phenominal and I love that.

Yet the problem is... it is told that they are important and equal rather than shown.

My reasoning is that the Ladybug miraculous is ridiculously OP and the cat miraculous only has "See in dark" and "Destroy but like not actually depending on the situation"

The Ladybug miraculous is clearly superior to the cat miraculous in every single way.

I have a hard time believing that Hawkmoth/shadowmoth needs both miraculous when clearly having the ladybug one should be enough to fix everything.

The cat miraculous only felt close to as important as the Ladybug miraculous, 4 times in the entire series.

1. Breaking the akumatized Bee miraculous

2. Cataclysming Pharo

3. Cataclysming the turtle miraculous to stop Optigami

4. Cataclysming the giant sweet that Tikki made.

Heck even in Ephemeral, them needing Chat noir was more because it was inconvenient and really Ladybug didnt need 9 heroes she only needed 3

Vesperia, Viperion, and Carapace. (Polymouse wasnt needed.)

Which actually shows that Ladybug doesnt actually need Chat noir. Like no wonder the boy feels like he will be replaced.

Do you know how many times the Ladybug miraculous is important?

That isnt balanced.

If Ladybug is missing once, the world is doomed.

But now the complaint is gonna be "Well ladybug is the main character so she has to save the day."

Yes, I f***ing know. And that is not the problem.

Dont tease me with a balance concept when you are just gonna wipe your ass with it.

The cat miraculous may as well just be one of the lesser important ones. And if it was stated to be then I honestly wouldnt care as much as I do.

It doesnt work when the characters have to say he is important or necessary yet not actually show it.

Also Thomas said that Cataclysm doesnt always destroy, its like misfortune or whatever (being random). Which REALLY damages the view because Tikki is creation.

I should point out that I am fine with Marinette being the main character, (she is my favorite after all). So her always saving the day is fine. That is not my problem with this.

My problem is that the cat miraculous rarely feels needed. And the treatment of Adrien is unbalanced. (Not even in an opposite way)

I wish that adrien's situation was paralleling Marinette's more.

Ladybug gaining more allies and trust. Being able to share her secret.

Chat noir starts losing more people in his life and starts becoming more untrusting. But anytime I think thats gonna happen, it is just (zip) fixed and status quo again.

Right now it feels like they are just gonna sweep the ladynoir conflict that had been brewing under the rug.

The view of the cat miraculous is being pushed aside and I hate that they are doing that when there are so many ways they can make it equal without undermining Marinette/Ladybug as a character

That is why the Yin yang concept the miraculous were supposed to be infuriates me. Because I love that trope.

this isn’t an one shot or anything, I’m just curious on your intake? okay, i know this is a long shot, but have you ever wonder what would happen if Izuku got caught? Him, the number one hero, the new symbol of peace, getting caught by his mentor or mother that they’ve kidnapped someone or something. honestly, I feel like Izuku is a very careful person on how he kidnaps his darling and how it goes down, but i was wondering; what would happen if those two found out about what he’s doing; like noncon, abuse, and etc? I feel like if anything, they would sweep it under the rug because if the symbol of peace gets caught like this — there would be an uproar or something, right? like people WOULDNT trust heroes after that so for the greater good, they’re going to be like “I’m sorry that he’s doing this, but you gotta suck it up” type of thing? What I’m asking is your belief on this. Like would they sweep it under the rug? What would their reactions be to Izuku’s yandere side? Their reaction to the abuse and stuff? (Honestly you don’t have to do this for Izuku, you could even answer for Katsuki, but I feel like Izuku would have a bigger ass impact if he were caught)

I believe Deku would be able to spin it in a direction that would make him seem like a hero. If he hasn't managed to break her in yet for her to smile and nod with pretty rehearsed lines on her lips, I'd still say that there are many cards for Izuku to play. And with so many people owing him favours, he's very well situated to deal any number of them.

DANGER TO HERSELF

He could pull the insanity card. Not for himself, but for his darling. Convince be it All might or his mother or a court that the love of his life isn't safe when left alone.

With the number of mental illnesses in the world, it shouldn't be too hard to scramble a few of them together and prove to whomever that she, despite screaming that she hates him, actually needs him.

Or he could spin another story, perhaps after one of his many enemies targeted her, his poor darling lost her mind. With his intelligence and ability to predict the future, fake evidence isn't too hard to craft, especially when he's literally above the law.

DANGER TO SOCIETY

Then there's the rehabilitation card. Again, not for him, but for his darling. Her entrapment with him could be seen as just that: incarceration. He could craft a tale of how she was once a vey powerful villain, and that's he's keeping extra close tabs on her because like the pure hearted hero that he is, he just can't find it in himself to kill her.

He could take it farther and say that he had her memories of that time wiped, in hopes she'd be reborn. He could say he's tried time and time again at making her a good person, but how she always falls back to that evil deranged mindset that leaves him with no other option but to house her like a charity handling a troubled child.

NUCLEAR OPTION: TRUTH

Or, he could simply tell the truth. I mean, he's the strongest person in the world, standing side by side with other of the world's most powerful people that would die for him.

And in the end of the day, one girl is a small price to pay for world peace after all.

BAKUGO KATSUKI - KACHAN

Bakugo's a different story.

I think Bakugo's more talented and intelligent than Deku in the art of combat, but when it comes to politics and preying on the sympathy of the people, Deku has him beat. Plus, Bakigo's identity as a hero isn't as reassuring as Deku: the symbol of peace, so the media doesn't have the same tolerance with him as they have with Izuku.

However, where he doesn't have the people, he has Deku, who in turn has the people. Not to mention Kirishima as well.

It's ugly, but there's a reason powerful people get away with things.

Money, fame and connections.

Then there's the service he offers the world, and powerful people in powerful places not wanting his reputation to go to waste. UA doesn't want its prestigious esteemed name to be dragged through the mud as the high school who trained a kidnapping abuser, and the Hero Comity doesn't want the public thinking they don't have control over their heroes. Meaning, they'll spin the narrative in whichever way seems most appealing.

- laberta conflates her self worth with inclusion and marriage, as that was the only thing noticeable amongst her circle and her family. her mother explicitly excluded her from the family choir and withheld love from her, along with forcing her father to do the same through manipulation. she does the same thing to clay at the party by getting him drunk and manipulating him into marriage

-moralton didnt pay attention to mr creepler opting to sweep it under the rug to stay comfortable even though people were getting hurt. what ms sculpthumb does to capture him is labeled as a heroic act, even though she’s a victim and this wouldnt have happened if moralton didnt try to ignore it

-nurse bendy age regresses. kids are often seen as innocent, so her age regression shields her from the way everybody else sees her: a sex object
