Thank you for even making that post because I honestly feel like I’m going to explode!! Championing every issue is EXHAUSTING. I have such empathy fatigue. Bombardment of “rules”, behavioral guidelines, services, companies, networks + food brands & PEOPLE to boycott ALL THE TIME. Fandom is space many of us come to unplug from reality…it’s certainly my hyperfixation & ppl be like “well then get another one because you shouldn’t support–” IT DOESN’T WORK LIKE THAT. Fuck. I can’t take it anymore. Calls to action being in EVERY single place have weakened my mental state even more than it was before which was already on “pending disability” level of severe & now I’m just. burned t-absolute-f out….at everything!! I can literally FEEL myself unraveling. Kpop stans & their toxic activism can go to hell. They’re so worried about making sure to condemn others for “not doing enough” or being bad people, that they don’t even realize their actions are making them into bad people. When I posted the pic of NCT Dream and Big Time Rush, I wrote in the tags how BTR was something my sister and I loved and bonded over. We watched the show even though it was obviously a kids show and we were both adults. It was just something that gave us joy. My sister passed away years ago and anything BTR-related will make me teary because I think about how much we laughed together over it.

So the first thing I get are messages over how problematic BTR is, that I should delete the post or I'm pro-genocide if I don't dislike them. Ngl that made me so upset because I got a bunch of faceless people trying to taint some precious memories of me and my sister. If they came at me trying to educate me on things I didn't know that would be different, but it's straight to judgment and hatred toward me over something I posted that was totally innocent.

Meanwhile I get criticized for posting about a kpop group instead of reblogging every call to action post. I donate my money to these causes, but I don't post about it because I don't need my ass kissed for doing what I know to be right. I am 1000% sure the anons in my inbox that try to police me have never given a dime to anything, but are policing people's blogs for not reblogging posts or talking about it more.

I feel bad that I haven't been very active on here this year so I try to come on when I have some free time to interact with you guys. I make a silly post about Doyoung and get anons tearing into me for it like I'm his social media manager. Okay so because the world is going to shit we aren't allowed to enjoy anything?? Can't make jokes about anything. Can't show support for anything. Just wrong on every fucking count.

Believe me I am so goddamn aware of how lucky I am that I can sit here and say I'm very privileged that I live comfortably in the life I have. I know what's going on in the world and I do my part to help where I can, but I also have to keep functioning. I don't want every minute of my life to be seeped in anger, I did that for a long time and it not only eats away at you, it makes you ineffective in actually changing the things making you angry in the first place.

This was just supposed to be a blog where I posted my stories. One of the few places I could go and not constantly be reminded of how fucked up the world is. I've always said that people who told me reading a fic of mine made their day a little better or helped them escape for a bit were always my favorite. That was what I came here for and I loved being able to share the tiniest moments of peace and quiet with others through stories with guaranteed happy endings.

I'm frustrated because I have 4 drafts ready to go next year. I got the story posts done and made all the headers. But I don't want to post them. I have no problem admitting I'm selfish and spiteful. The name ‘Suranga’ when i originally looked it up while trying to name him meant something like divine? It apparently also means orange, which is funny cos of his arrogance and daring stats lol, though he was more of a bluestep when i first made him, so yeah, oddly fitting. As for why he picked his name, I think I decided it was a name someone he almost came to see as a parental figure in his pre-vigilante days would’ve given their kid, if they’d been able to have one. In some ways, that was his way of honoring them and it was the first thing that could be his (if also something residual from farm training and people-pleasing to need someone else to pick).

he could’ve gone for something more common but then again, it wasn’t a name he was intending to share with anyone else until ortega, otherwise, he was always giving fake names. whether suranga actually believes he still deserves his name, though, honestly varies with his self-loathing levels. this guy has so many complexes lmao.

Genderwise, it’s kinda a mess? At first seeing ricardo on the news gave him some gender revelations, starting to id as a binary trans guy and staying stealth with the rangers (and it was def comforting to know there was a fellow trans man on the team, even if he and sentinel were never close) but it didn’t fully feel right? Then post second escape and through puppeting yasmin he gradually realizes oh, the whole girl thing isn’t so bad when it’s on his terms (or close enough), yoink, my gender now. As yasmin he’s a lot more confident, so he basically trials things he’d never be able to do as himself through her and post-debut, he gets a little bit bolder with his own body.

Obv with the whole maintaining two different identities thing (without even factoring in argos post-debut), the Autism™, and never really having a stable sense of self thanks to cuckoo training (plus SO MUCH TRAUMA), it’s hard to actually pinpoint what his gender is, at best i’d say something like uh, genderqueer/genderfluid?

Sexuality is similarly a very big mess. He’s definitely aspec/some kind of aroflux, and his ongoing secret crush on ricardo is a jumble of ortega being his first real friend (and not letting anyone else close enough to have other points of reference), and being a simultaneously touch averse AND touch starved mf, and also the gender confusion triggered by ric before even meeting him (‘do i want to be him or be friends with him??’) so suranga’s whole ability to determine if it’s romantic/sexual attraction or platonic feelings is very very fucked. With ortega specifically they used to be very close (he thought the world of him tbh), but with ricardo hovering since their reunion he’s trying to keep him at arms length, because he’s very aware how well ortega can read him. He can’t help but go back to ortega in spite of his efforts to stay away, partly because he wants ortega to stop and/or help him but doesn’t know how to ask, or if he can.

He’s honestly very clueless on the chen attraction thing. There’s the baggage from having known eachother back before, but also post-heartbreak he can better relate to chen (which includes a mutual hatred of stairs!) because of the chronic pain/fatigue problems he’s had to deal with, and spoon is also a big factor - he does prefer cats, and his own cat Fred in particular that stayed with elena after HB,, but getting to hang out with spoon is pretty good too.

As yasmin, he becomes very fond of mortum, but he’s not sure he’d call it romantic attraction, though they might’ve flirted a bit at the start. Suranga really enjoys the doctor’s company and respects her a lot, in part cos it’s so fun to nerd out over tech stuff, and there’s none of the baggage that comes with ortega. he’d rather not compromise that friendship by stringing her along, so I think he makes it clear at the gala on the feelings? i’m still working out his canon route, but for sure he tells mortum the truth in retri. 

Also his flirting as yasmin bleeds over into his argos persona when he fights with argent. he def likes playing with fire lol. Romantic relationships are a big ????

However, in general relationship terms, he’s pretty familial with rosie and his crew, in part cos the dynamic reminds him a lot of the rangers in his sidestep days, and old habits are hard to shake. 

Motivation tends to vary, but the underlying principles are that he’s very very tired and bitter and just wants to feel like he’s in some control of his life again/not powerless - the argos suit is in part a mobility aid, because it lets him do what he could as sidestep, and more. argos gives him a lot of freedom and at times euphoria, but also huge guilt, just as he does with yasmin. he's following the path of least resistance (fate motive), even if that’s driving himself (further) into a self-destructive spiral. at least it’s by his hand instead of someone else’s?

Faulty logic aside, there’s a lot of anger at himself, especially his past self for his naivety and getting careless (as much as he tries to bury it, he’s still a hero at heart), but also at the Farm, but it’s not like he can really touch them. I have a soft spot for the outsider scar cos that’s the first one i ever got, and the whole disconnect from the rest of the world feels very very fitting, and coupling that with the suicidal scar (so suicidal from rebirth → outsider into retri), though I have tried him out with puppetmaster too, and maybe some parts from the hunger scar can work too?

idk if he'll actually remain driven enough to stick to being argos, but it sure is fun watching him be a trainwreck about it

People have been speculating that Tom is most likely gonna get killed in the prison island explosion

I think Tom's somewhat speculated death is gonna be the thing that tests Sonic's resolve thats established at the start of the trailer.

Will he succumb to hatred and anger like Shadow has? Or will he stay true to who he is despite the loss and pain he’s going through

It would push Sonic to his breaking point and it would lead to Sonic getting the chance to kill Shadow (most likely during the fight on the Ark), but then remembering what Tom said and choosing not to become like Shadow.

Plus one thing that would kind of tie it in with the previous films, is that when he's had his final fights with Robotnik, he's ALWAYS gone for the kill (even if he still survived lol).

So for him to choose not to end Shadow and forgive him, would be a neat little arc too.

It would be really interesting gets really angry of course powering up almost about to kill shadow and remember what Tom told him of course, because unlike Sonic? Shadow does not have loving parents to go back to, plus Maria is dead, so…

I’m thinkin’ a fakeout death would really motivate Sonic to go all out on Shadow.

Gonna be honest with ya? I highly doubt they’re actually fully gonna kill off Tom, the difference between him and a character like Maria Robotnik is that Maria was a character who was created from the ground up to be killed off for backstory reasons, and we already have that same type of character for Sonic in these movies, that character being Longclaw, however, that doesn’t mean they can’t do like a fakeout death with Tom, or make it LOOK like he got brutally injured and beaten up by Shadow, and Sonic is told that Tom may or may not have a lot of time left to live for very long

In which I write this because this post is *genuinely* not good for Twitter’s word count…let alone Twitter itself

‪I saw a post about a trans woman sharing her thoughts about the doomposting by newly out or closeted trans women who tend to start off being insecure about passing and essentially hinge on the perceptions of strangers.

Me, not realizing I am a trans man commenting on a trans woman, I shared my thoughts, agreeing with what she said in her thread.

Someone saw my comment and said that while the fact that I’m a man commenting on a woman’s post was initially irritating, he checked my profile and saw that I’m like a parallel universe version of him.

At first, I didn’t know what to say. It felt like a compliment. Not backhanded, but not the superficial, hugboxing, ego-boosting kind either. It just felt “good.” Now that I’ve typed this out, I’m thinking…holy moly am I a masochist getting off to this kind of thing?

Digression aside, I get this logic. Trans men are men, and trans women are women, right? (Spoilers: yes, that is true, and nobody will change my mind on that.) I saw a tweet going around one time that said “trans men are the Men of this community” — of course some of the trans guys I’d see on the For You TL got upset about this, maybe some trans girls too. But despite being a chronic grass toucher due to my job, I somehow had a basic grasp the reasoning behind the belief.

The reasoning, in short terms: men suck. Especially of the white, cisgender, heterosexual kind. Or even any of those combinations of the three. So yes, I get it. I get the so-called “man hatred�� online. I talk with feminists IRL, and call myself one, for the sake of all that’s holy. Of course I’d know what the patriarchy does to an mf.

I may be a man now, but as I settle into my 20’s, I’m still getting used to This Whole Being a Man Thing — I’m new to this concept about being perceived as…well, a man. To be a little bit more personal, I can be considered a “trans kid” or “trans youth” considering I came out when I was 13, but that can entail being raised in a pretty patriarchal environment. Still, my backstory doesn’t excuse the fact that I *do* hold privilege. *Acquired* male privilege, as I like to call it.

While trans men can be oppressed for being assigned female at birth (misogyny), oppressed on the basis of being trans (transphobia), we’re still men at the end of the day. And men (can) suck.

I really don’t want to bring race to this conversation, but if we’re gonna get intersectional: I an Asian trans man, was commenting on a white trans woman’s post. I’ll put the race thing on the table. Both of us have went through gender affirming medical care.

So when it comes to this thing about gender—this reinvented Gender War between trans girls and trans guys and non binary people — what takes precedence? I wish I had the answer aside from wanting everyone to hold hands and sing Kumbayah.

Maybe I should make my own thread one day, but I want my status being an open secret kind of thing. It’s being “Stealth Lite”.‬ My trans status should be known on a case by case basis. I consciously chose this, even if it was slightly motivated by fear of being mistreated for being trans. Yeah, that’s my passing privilege showing, but hey. I’m doing my best to use it to defend the people who lack it.

To any trans guy who finds this: fellas, i know it’s tough that people are realizing that “trans men are men. and since men suck, we should be including them” or whatever. I get it. It does hurt our egos when “trans men are men” is a phrase being used to mock the shitty nature of many (cis and mainly hetero) men. But we’re men, right? We straighten up, stiffen our upper lips and move on.

I know that last sentence is problematic. And to clarify, I don’t mean it sarcastically. But I hope you can understand what I meant to say.

To put it bluntly while also softening my “tough love” language: a lot of men, especially the cis and mainly hetero ones, tend to have fragile egos. This is especially applied to the trans men I’ve seen who have lived as men since they were in their teens.

When we see the complaints by trans women online, especially those of colour, and especially if you’re a white trans man reading those tweets—listen. Don’t get defensive. Learn something from your trans sisters.

i certainly will, and will continue to do so. check your privilege, including the ones you’ve acquired.

hello! I’m Sky, and i have a year of pent up HATRED for the Suicide Squad 2011 comic series. i was fueled with RAGE ATHDHDFJDJFN, so i’m gonna talk (read: rant) about the first 7 issues.

okay! going to go right into it because i seriously need to word vomit so bad rn

Alright. Let’s talk about Adam Glass’s interpretation of the Suicide Squad. Spoilers ahead! (but you knew that pff)

it starts off and already i can tell it’s going to be DARK. which is kind of shocking for something that isn’t DC’s black label, which is where their more adult based content is. It opens up into a gruesome torture scene, which like, it’s DC so i’m not all too surprised here. that part was fine, i enjoyed how brutal they showed Waller to be in her treatment of everyone!

My main problem comes with the oversexualization of all of the female characters, specifically Harley Quinn. Now i know what you’re saying! “wow, it’s another Harley stan going on a tangent” and you’re absolutely correct <3

But even in just the cover, it is blatantly obvious what they were trying to achieve with how they drew her. in any chance they had to put her in “street clothes”, this is what they came up with.

oh but it did NOT stop there.

quite literally three pages later, she has a thing with Deadshot. which. what? this is issue THREE. AHHH STOP ADAM GLASS PLEASE FOCUS ON THE STORY

that was another thing, the story telling was… alright? but their characterization was poorly executed which made the story telling especially a no for me

after her and Deadshot had that little thing, she wanted a relationship with him, which he shot down and quite literally said he used her, which is always fun i love that.

anyway, after that, Captian Boomerang showed up and DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON HIM THATS A POST ON ITS OWN MAN

So she breaks out of jail and goes right for Gotham. don’t ask how she got there from Louisiana because the comics do not tell us! (i think? i don’t remember DRHDJFJDJ)

she goes to Gotham PD because she heard Joker’s face was sliced off and they took it to evidence! fun! so she wants to see it one last time for like, closure? it was really creepy which is off brand for her compared to her in literally anything else. (maybe not a few video games we don’t talk about those thank you)

So Waller sends the squad to hunt her down, either kill her or bring her back alive.

they look for her, yada yada, we get to see a bit of Harley’s backstory, which i actually kind of like! good job on that one, Adam.

anyway, Joker had the drunk driver that killed her father murdered and gave her the finger which was scary but like, i kind of liked that part, it made sense with how she turned out in this interpretation.

so next issue, gives us a bit more backstory mf the squad catches up to her and they have a little brawl and she gets away because she’s Harley Quinn so

anyway. she gets the drop on Deadshot and it slips back into another backstory, this time when he pushed her in the acid. here’s the flashback, it’s important so i included all of it. get ready, this is. a lot.

after that comes what might possibly be my least favorite scene in the whole series. (second least favorite actually, i’ll talk about a worse one later :’))

it jumps back to the present and Harley has Deadshot tied to a chair. Deadshot is dismissive of her feelings, which i get, he’s a sociopath, but he doesn’t deserve what she does to him.

the problem with this scene is it’s so… out of character for Harley. She does seriously have mental health issues, but this isn’t something she’s done in any other adaptations of her.

mmm hmmmm thinking about my blorbo Isaac Ramos tonight,, this got too long oh no

His plot was inspired by a Lord Huron song, so basically he’s an ex-outlaw that settled down with his wife and they had a daughter. Years later, the government sends bounty hunters to kill him, because they’ve been hunting down other outlaws and the members of his gang he used to run with. Instead of just killing only him, they shoot both his wife and daughter and try to dispose of their bodies. There’s a New Vegas scenario that Isaac was too angry to stay dead even though he got shot in the head.

Now, I’m not a big fan of the “widower goes on a killing spree” but it is fun to play around with this concept. He doesn’t immediately go after the bounty hunters, but properly buries the bodies of his family, then stays at his house for a couple of days, just sitting and trying to comprehend what had happened to him and his family. Eventually, his anger gets the better of him and he grabs his old outlaw garb and all the guns he hid around the house. He knows he can’t do it alone, so he tries to get in touch with the other ex-members and finds out only three of them are alive, four with Isaac. Only two join him, though, the last guy succumbed to alcoholism and is too depressed to help him.

Now this is where I spin this trope around a little - Isaac’s “revenge” is a very bumpy road, because he often finds himself doubting that it will make him feel better and almost bails out of his plan a few times. He’s not your typical action protagonist man avenging his family that mindlessly shoots people. He actually thinks about the consequences of his actions, he wants to get to the bounty hunters and the people that hired them without killing other people that might get involved in this mess. He doesn’t want a bloodbath, even though he was one of the most feared gunslingers back in his gang days, he left the gang because he was sick of the constant violence and hated the man he became. The fact that he found himself squeezing information out of people by threatening them or beating them and slipping back into his old self doesn’t sit right with him. Which is another reason why he isn’t so sure about this whole revenge thing.

Spoiler but not really - he does get his revenge with the other two members alive, but he breaks down after that, because after weeks of chasing the people that killed his family, he just feels tired and wanted it to be over. Though he did want to look into the eyes of the men that killed his loved ones, which gave him some relief.

I didn’t want to portray the generic “man’s family gets killed so he’s a badass mf shooting guns” like That, instead, I wanted it to be ugly. Isaac is broken and sad, and he thinks revenge is the only thing that might give him some relief (and it does to some extent). It’s more about his journey, how he is dealing with the grief and the idea of spilling blood for his loved ones, slipping back into his old ways that he was disgusted by. It also isn’t a story of how “revenge doesn’t solve everything” because he kills the people that wronged him and he is glad that it’s over. He is angry at first, but the deeper he goes, the more tired he becomes. Endless doubts are eating him up along with his self-hatred during his revenge journey. My brain not work correctly today, but his feelings are very complicated.

Since his faceclaim is none other than Mr. Pedro Pascal, he is a little inspired by Din Djarin in terms of personality. He comes off as your Stoic Tough Guy, but has a tender side, considering he had a daughter he has a weakness for kids and his Dad Instincts immediately kick in. He doesn’t like senseless violence and tries to avoid killing people that have nothing to do with the situation he’s in. He tends to give into his anger a lot, but not the feral type. more like the “calm angry” type, he comes off as awfully calm during tense situations and keeps his hands steady, which makes him a dangerous gunslinger. Despite grieving his family, he still cracks jokes with his friends and doesn’t push them away during his bad moments. In fact, he deeply values them and the fact that they joined him on his journey without asking unnecessary questions. They’ve had a close bond during their gang days that didn’t fade during those years they’ve been apart. Actually, Isaac was the reason the gang fell apart, because after he left, the others realized that their leader was a fraud and they were all sick living like that, though some kept on living the outlaw life until they got hunted down. Others were on the run and hiding from the law.

I have one of the group members somewhat developed, but I still haven’t figured out the third one.

Random Shigaraki Headcanons

Literally has no idea about real-life relationship dynamics outside of what he’s observed in his own parents, in Sensei, and in Kurogiri. All he thinks in the beginning is that people who claim to love you will stand by and let you be hurt, that villains took care of him better than any damn hero, and that he can only truly rely on himself. It takes a loooooooong time of interacting with other people to break himself out of this mindset, and even then, sometimes it comes creeping back if bad things happen.

Getting into canon territory with this one, but really, really, reeeeeeeeally hates heroes because they didn’t even bother to help him when he was going through a whole mental breakdown. Literally one of the only reasons he hates them so much. I know this is pretty much canon, but I doubt he would ever grasp Stain’s ideology of ‘maybe some are good’ because in his eyes, not even the underground pro heroes even bothered to see if he was okay. Remember the scene from the manga with the old lady when he was a child? Yeah. There were bound to be heroes he bumped into, even off-duty ones, and nobody even gave him another glance.

Has extremely bad abandonment issues. If he likes you, he’s gonna want to keep you because he didn’t really have anything nice to call his own while growing up, and Sensei kept him fairly isolated so he literally tolerates nobody else other than him and Kurogiri at first. Reacts horribly when his friends want to break off the friendship. Goes through a whole depressive episode for a while, his old insecurities pop back up, and he really thinks he’s worse than trash and not worth anyone’s time or attention for a while. Prime time for Sensei to further twist his mind.

On that same note, if you’re dating, for the love of everything still good in this world do not break his heart. He will never forgive you. Literally will go to the grave before he forgives you for doing what you did (whether it be cheating on him or completely dropping him like a hot potato). Although this might also extend to little issues that make him feel like you don’t love him enough, he’ll forgive you if you show him plenty of attention and apologize for whatever he was upset over. If you cannot remain patient through his toxic mindsets, it’s best not to get into a relationship in the first place with him if you want to still remain friends afterward, because breaking it off means instant heartbreak.

Stranger things 3 rant so spoilers !! Not major plot points but I need to vent (mostly about billy hargrove and my love and appreciation for Dacre Montgomery) so pls excuse me

First off, I literally want to say it: Billy deserved better. That's not even coming from a major Billy stan or a harringrove fan standpoint - he fucking deserved better. They gave him less than ONE episode (hint: it's the first one) to be a normal human with no posession and what do we get with it? We get him OGLING AT FUCKING KAREN. I will take the hatred for the d*ffer brothers to my grave for that. The poor boy was made to be the main antagonist of this season and he is given LITTLE TO NO HUMANIZATION. we see NO continuation from season 2's finale with him agreeing to have a somewhat truce with max. Do not get me wrong, dacre's performance is phenomenal and he deserves the entire world but for fuck's sake, they really screwed us over there. Wouldn't his entire story have been more effective if we had gotten some NORMAL qualities or some affection towards his sister? The lack of care for Billy hargrove as a character actually hurts my heart and soul because of all of the time and effort I have put into him. I've spent hours writing about, drawing, and hoping for this abused kid to be able to overcome his demons and escape his dad and have friends and people who care for him. But NOPE he has none of that at all, in fact, the entire cast spends all this time focusing on getting rid of the mind flayer VS saving Billy. When the roles were reversed and it was will who was under possession, he had an entire group of people fighting for him and Billy had nothing of the sort. Will has human qualities seeping through, making us feel for him and Billy ONLY did because of dacre's astonishing performance. He didn't have actual plot points to do it save for eleven viewing his memories! And even that was not to save Billy, it was a means to eliminating the MF. Which is important, I understand, however FUCK. everything ABOUT HIS PLOT was forced and quick and i felt like I had no time at all properly grasp it all. It bounced back and forth so fast and even though Dacre did amazing, I felt like his shit was cut as far as options went. Why did we get NOTHING wholesome from him before he was possessed? Having friends? Getting an ice cream? Talking to his little fucking sister? A morning routine? SOMETHING OTHER THAN FUCKING KAREN WHEELER. Watching this season sparked little to no joy from me solely because it felt like an attack on myself and the love I have in my heart for these characters. Imagine how much deeper all of the storylines COULD have been if they were more intertwined instead of completely separate. It felt like such a disappointment because I had SO MUCH ANXIETY about it, about Billy, about the show in general that I felt nauseated nearly the whole thing!!! ALSO....let me touch on the predictability of most of the show. Without even reading spoilers, one could easily figure out almost the entire fucking plot (hence why I had so much anxiety and I was 99% correct on EVERYTHING I thought would happen) so much so to the point where I started to rethink solely because it was all too obvious!!! And i wont say it directly because it is a major plot point, but the ONE Thing that Billy has all to himself, the ONE GOOD he has got is fucking taken from him by another plot. Almost immediately. Because why would we need any sort of important moment to truly cement Billy's character when something else can swoop in literally 30 seconds later and steal all of the attention? (Not that that was not also important but I'm specifically talking about Billy rn) AND ALSO. There is not ONE specific interaction with Steve, which was basically his ENTIRE storyline last season? It just felt so random and out of left field and like they really just didn't want him to get better.

TL;DR I feel empty and hollow and so hurt and distraught by this season. I feel like someone has betrayed one of my best and strongest friends and reduced them to nothing. But I am so so so proud of Dacre Montgomery for his skill and wonderful talent and I'm proud of Billy for actually ending up being a "main" character, but for the love of fucking god, why couldn't we just have something good? Something happy? Something more than what we got? I truly believe we deserved it. Because all of us Billy fans (and a lot of the harringrove fandom) are the most creative and talented and loving people I've ever met and I know we have put our hearts and souls into this and I can't help but feel destroyed.

First of all I’m sorry for the pain that you personally had to go through. I hope you’re doing okay 🤗. At the same time though, I see uniqueness besides similarities in everybody’s situation. 

1. Someone who is broken can’t be a crutch for someone else

In a traditional family setup in many cultures, even more prominent in Asian cultures, the eldest child is always the one assumed to carry responsibilities of looking after the younger ones. In a family crisis situation, while the younger ones theoretically have the one they can turn to, the eldest child has nobody and is usually left to fend for himself and everybody else. 

Some elder kids have the inner strength and maturity to carry it at young age but some really struggle with it and only develop at a later age. Your brother and Taka seem to be in the latter category. Like Taka, your brother walked out because he was hurting and that was the shortcut way he knew how to surpress it and to stay away from what was troubling him at home. He couldn’t be your pillar when he was broken himself. Just like Taka who took the quick way out and his story had been well documented. 

Also, a lot of times, someone who feels worthless doesn’t understand why anyone would feel hurt to see him walk away. I’m sure Taka himself only fully began to understand NOW, as an adult, the hurt he caused Hiro when he walked away back then. In his mind, he was a loser. Not doing well in school, stressed out over the parents’ marriage breaking up, not getting along with their father, very unhappy and not knowing where his future was heading. Certainly not someone for little Hiro to look up to. How would he look after Hiro when he could barely take care of himself?

2. Some people need to pull themselves together first before they can love others

That dark period in Taka’s life was not something he’s proud of. He acknowledges it in interviews and his lyrics. Even OOR members admitted that Taka wasn’t exactly a pleasant person to deal with when they first found him. But once he got his life on track, things fell into places. He made amend with his father and got back the Moriuchi name. While Taka couldn’t give back the years with him that Hiro lost, he let Hiro hang around his friends and be a part of his life back in that way. 

Even Hiro never denied the perks of being Taka’s brother. The most significant was when one of Taka’s close friends K from Pay Money To My Pain befriended Hiro and how that friendship led to the formation of MY FIRST STORY. 

Think again, would Kei Goto a.k.a the late K simply befriend a random underaged high school kid just like that? I highly doubt it 🤔. Hiroki Moriuchi was NOT some random high school kid. K and Taka were buddies and Hiro the high school kid was Taka’s little brother. I doubt Taka would let his little brother hang around someone he didn’t trust. He knew Hiro was in good hands. All these happened only after Taka got his life back on track and was able to be the big brother figure he was meant to be for Hiro.

3. Taka publicly standing up for Hiro would be bad for Hiro’s image

Yes, it would be counter-productive for Taka to do so. You see, the ROOT of the hate and cyber-bullying towards Hiro stemmed from how easy things happened for him because of his family connection. If Taka had spoken out, it would make Hiro appear weak and ultra-dependant on his big brother. 

“Duh! Not only he got a band because he’s Taka brother. Now, he needs to be protected like a baby!” 

Hmm … does that sound good to you? We also need to see things from the haters’ perspective too, you know. Oh, with Papa being a multi-millionaire? Trust me. Hiro would get even less respect if any of his family members had spoken out for him. The bullying might get even worse. 

As for Tomo, anything his family members say would bring unnecessary attention to him. He appeared on TV that one time because of his job at the station. Otherwise, he’s very private. It’s unfair on him if his famous family gives more reasons for the public to scrutinize his life when that’s the last thing he wants. 

4. Being seen publicly as a brave independent fighter would be far more beneficial for Hiro

It worked well for Taka. He only started displaying his bonds with his parents AFTER he had firmly made a name for himself even though they had been on good terms since the early days of OOR. Likewise, Hiro would be less relatable to many fans if he is constantly being taken care of by his more famous and successful family members. Isn’t that the public perception Hiro is still trying hard to break away from? 

Not just the Moriuchi, I have never seen being publicly defended by family members work well for ANY celebrity in the world. It may work for ordinary folks but things work differently for famous people. 

I do support Hiro but I think even his most ardent supporters would agree that he somewhat gives off these “baby” vibes. MFS members themselves seem protective towards him. They let him be mischievious, loud and boisterous with them but they’re always there to hug him when he cries. Therefore, independence from his family would balance that out nicely.

5. Taka made a conscious choice to speak only for himself because he knew any reaction to it would be directed to him and ONLY him

As opposed to Taka speaking out for any of his family members, whom the public might hurl the hate and negative reaction to instead. 

Things just work differently for celebrities. In a way, to minimize the bullying towards their loved ones, staying out of their public battle a lot of times is the better way to go. By not bringing more attention to it. 

Likewise, none of Taka’s family members said anything when Taka had to face a barrage of criticism and angry reactions at the time. The ones who publicly defended him were his friends and peers. Guys like Mah (SiM) and Masato (Coldrain) among some. For celebrities, somehow testimonies from people they have worked with or even strangers they have encountered hold much higher values than family members. 

With their chosen careers, backlash and criticism come with the territory. That’s what their parents want to instill in the two brothers. “You have chosen this path. Learn to deal with it.“

6. Rude fans are rude fans nonetheless

Rude people don’t suddenly become angels just because their idols ask them to. Just look at the backlash against Taka. It was quite brutal. Just like how Hiro got pictures of a woman pooping by his haters, I saw a photo of a “hairy ding dong” for Taka among some, along with truckloads of really scathing words. By his own fans (or should I say “ex-fans"?). If this kind of fans are willing to treat Taka like that just from ONE social media post, then nothing good can come out of it if Taka had said or done anything about Hiro’s haters. The ones who would cheer him would still be the same ones who already support MFS anyway. 

Remember when fans were speculating that OOR’s song Right By Your Side as being dedicated to Hiro? Those who like MFS thought it was a sweet gesture but those who don’t like MFS used it as an excuse to say, “Look! Taka wrote a song for Hiro. Yet he still wants to call Taka his rival. What a low life!”. Yes, I’ve personally seen comments like that. So, see? Whatever Taka does regarding Hiro, mean-spirited people will still find a way to set fire to it.

7. There must be more than meets the eye

Fans went nuts when the brothers wore this pair of pants. I doubt it’s a coincidence that Hiro suddenly is comfortable wearing Taka’s look when he used to be sensitive about being called Taka’s copy before.

But that’s not even something new. in January 2018, Taka posted a photo of himself wearing this Monster’s Inc hoodie at Disneyland. That same month, Hiro was wearing that same Disney hoodie at his 24th birthday party.

Heaven knows what Taka had said to Hiro in private especially after MFS Budokan show 🤔. At the end of the day, they are family and though I also know many families who cut ties from each other, Taka and Hiro clearly are the ones who keep theirs 😉.

i would honestly love to hear what you have to say about the sectumsempra scene

honestly can’t believe i’m about to make an in depth harry potter post in the year 2019 but anon u made me blush so:

basically i am obsessed w/ draco n the scene imo opened up such a good opportunity for a redemption arc for him that i think he really deserved. i just would’ve LOVED to see him unlearn all the shit he grew up with like what a lovely message that would have been!! we can grow up around hatred but it doesn’t mean we have to keep it around forever!! how we are raised is not who we have to be for the rest of our lives!! we are not our fathers!! we can learn from their mistakes and we can take the hatred they gave us & learn from it & become the best versions of ourselves that we can!!

like obviously the shit that he did was all terrible but still he was a child!! reading that scene when i was like 11 i got the shock of my life i was like HUH? he’s CRYING? evil people don’t have FEELINGS? i fr expected that after that he would change at least a little bit, not even immediately bc of the whole “he’ll kill me” thing but at least eventually he would get the chance to like, escape i guess? the scene rlly showed that he had more to him than just “i’m a stupid bastard i love my daddy and i love committing acts of evil” bc it rlly just showed that he was a mf child!! who was scared and crying!! who had to do things he didn’t want to do!! who grew up in an environment so vile that he didn’t even get the chance to realise that this isn’t what he wants at all until its too late!! u can see in this scene that he obviously does not want to hurt anyone anymore and he’s just trying to protect himself and his family from his parents mistakes. he’s a kid w/ too much on his shoulders!! just like harry and the rest!!

there’s a lot of instances other than this scene i think that could have also been used…. the astronomy tower… the snatchers at malfoy manner… the battle.. tho this was the first one + the most striking n the most obvious. tho i’m forever mad that they cut the scene out of the last movie where draco throws harry his wand like HELLO that was perfect but gdbfksdfbsfs

the scene for me isn’t even about drarry (yall are weird for taking a scene where one of them almost kills the other and turning it into ship material lol i mean i too read my fair share of drarry as a 14 year old but like… leave this scene alone)

i think he sort of got one in the cursed child??? i don’t remember it too well but that absolutely does not count lol i don’t think he would’ve been able to change after spending yet another 15 or something years like that, after u become a Real adult i  + also nothing in that was actually canon of course

there’s like.. a lot more thoughts that i have about this, i just can’t rlly articulate them + i forgot a lot of the things that happened. there’s so much more to talk abt in this scene in relation to the themes of of antagonism n both harry and draco’s maturity and effects of war but i’m uhh stupid. i’m currently reading the books with my little brother which is why draco came to mind when i saw that post but we’re only up to chamber of secrets so there’s a lot i don’t remember!! it’s all just v personal for me as someone who grew up in a v religious household amongst a lot of homophobia and racism and misogyny and just general hatred for a lot of things that are Actually Okay.. but i’ve used my brain cells to realise that That Ain’t It Chief and i’ve learned to love others n the world and whatever despite what my family thinks and what they tried to push onto me. and i know many others who have also done the same thing and i’m an optimist i guess, i like to think that we aint it! and i’m a weirdo who is too obsessed w/ fictional characters so i like to see this shit in books!

i’m also just mad that all the slytherin kids were all portrayed as little bastard children like why was not a single one of them okay??? sn*pe doesn’t count and no one even knows who regulus is. also i’m mad that snape of all fucking characters got a redemption arc and draco didn’t fuck jkr and her horny fantasies. also i can’t believe i’m still so obsessed w/ this series after all these years, i didn’t mean to write this much but uhhhh thanks for coming to my ted talk
