BUCKLE UP I HAVE A LOT TO SAY
10, 13-24 (yes this is twelve questions. they're very important)
Ooh boy. I will explain every answer because I feel like the answers are meaningless without context.
10. What song would you want played at your funeral? This one is hard. I don’t know which one songs will remain important to me, so I'll make a decision based on if my funeral was like. Tomorrow. So I'd say maybe perhaps "Isle of flightless birds" by tøp, or "the worst is over" by matt elliott. Both I've listened to for few years at least and I associate some important memories with both. Then there are also some estonian classics which I love ("see pole see" by marju kuut for example). It'd be funny if I chose danse macabre tho. "That's right, I'm dead, and you're next. Let's dance"
13. If you could commit any crime without consequences? The only murder that has actual appeal to me is the murder of the self/ego. And that one has no legal consequences so uh trespassing? I wanna look at some abandoned houses. Oh I also want to steal. I love thievery.
14. Would you rather know the date or the cause of your death? I was gonna say the cause but I'd actually wanna know the date on which I died. I want to know if it was the day of my birth. Have I ever been alive? That sorta shit
15. What would you do if you want a dead body in a hotel room? Do the selfish thing first and use it for inspiration and then call the police because I've practiced what to say wayy too often to let an opportunity like that pass.
16. Are we really living or are we slowly dying? Depends on the person, but I am slowly dying. I am already dead, but that death keeps evolving.
17. Do you like the taste of blood? I like the taste of blood the same way I like the sight of dead birds with snapped necks and the smell of cigarette smoke. (Yes)
18. If you had to lose a body part, which one? The obvious answer would be like "my middle toe" or something but as much as I hate feet a voice in my head would say my left eye.
19. Would you rather be frozen, burned or drowned? Burned. At the stake. Until nothing remains.
20. If there's a hell of some sort, do you think you're going to it? I mean. Probably? Depends on what's considered a sin worthy of damnation? Like i haven't intentionally damaged someone's property or sth, but I have done some minor immoral things and not felt that much guilt. I am also obsessed with myself, if that's anything. AND I'm 60% sure I'm gay. AND I am so full of envy and greed and gluttony and etc. AND-
21. How would you dispose of a body? I'd turn it into an installation art piece, that way no one would ever think twice about it.
22. Would you kill a stranger to save someone you love? Yes absolutely. I'd let them die or kill them myself. I am a helplessly devoted person.
23. Would you rather be burned at the stake, die a saint beloved by all, or die peacefully, but have nobody remember you? Oh my god- to go out in such a flashy and iconic way AND be remembered and beloved by all? That is everything I've ever wanted
24. Would you rather eat a part of a human heart or a whole human eye? First of all- I *hate* eyeballs, second of all- I love cannibalism and eating a heart could have such beautiful symbology to it.
25. What question would you ask the devil? Gimme the ability to turn my misery into art efficiently pls. Also how can I get horns like that? For Gender reasons

7. Can you commit to one person?
11. Do you ever want to get married?
26. Has anyone told you they don’t want to ever lose you?
35. Have you ever kissed someone (significantly) older than you?
58. What are five ways to win your heart?
64. What is your definition of cheating?
77. What’s your opinion on age differences in relationships?
7. I don't see a point in cheating, that question sounds very pro monogamy tho - and I'm not monogamous. So I'd say I'm fully devoted to people I'm into and I'm committed to them in that sense.
11. As long as the state holds as much power in a marriage as it does, absolutely not. (not for romantic reasons at least) Also not as long as there's no way to marry multiple partners.
26. Yes.
35. Nope.
58. - Making me laugh
- Being passionate about something (doesn't matter what)
- Being considerate and caring
- Remembering little things, things I said, things I like, habits, etc.
- Making an effort to get along with my loved ones
64. Emotional betrayal that involves dishonesty, keeping secrets, breaking promises and agreements.
The main thing I'm asking for in a relationship is open and honest communication, if that's given you're free to do whatever you wanna do. I understand that people have needs and I also understand that partners aren't properties nor that they exist solely to please me. So my partner has all the freedom they need or want and I fully support them fulfilling their needs, as long as we communicate openly and I'm not left in the dark.
77. Depends on how old the people involved are. The younger a person is the less they're aware of just how young, immature and easily manipulated they are. I've always been mature for my age, but only in hindsight I'm now able to see that I was nowhere near as mature as thought I was when I was <23. The younger a person is the less they have to fall back on when things go wrong, so I don't support big age gaps between people where one of them doesn't even have a fully developed brain yet. At some point age becomes just a number tho and that number comes with certain experiences, but the damage the relationship can cost is less intense.

How do you keep from wanting to smash every doctors office window
How do you keep yourself from becoming violent
This is the most radicalizing thing I've ever been through. And I feel numb. I feel like I'm not allowed to feel this or to speak about it because I still have to rely on the medical industry. I want to burn it down. And the psudo-medical industry. And all the essential oils. And every crystal bracelet. And every medical university.
Like I get that we all still have to interact with doctors but like am I the only one stuffing this much anger? I know it's personal and I need to work on it but how is our community not emotionally on fire? Where is like...the art? I wanna commit fucking property damage and spray painting a doctor's car is illegal, so I'm going to need a different outlet as much as I'd rather start a riot like damn someone at least link me some poetry or something

So there's a couple options I have for this which is basically if the whole "supers partnering with TV stations" thing is official or not. If its an unofficial, under the table sort of agreement, then it's probably facilitated by a system of bribes and information exchanging, sort of a "tell us where to station our camera crew for good views and we'll help fund your Evil Scheme/your thwarting the Evil Scheme" sort of deal. In that situation, news stations (or wealthy news moguls) are probably subtly facilitating superhero/villain conflict in the interest of creating profitable stories.
It's probably generally agreed on that the press are neutral parties in conflict (because hey, they're paying for both of our fancy spandex suits) so targeting/threatening them would be generally off-limits. I could see an informal honor code developing, where protecting reporters during fights becomes something of an implicit expectation--to the point where people may be willing to stop fighting entirely if the reporter or camera crew gets hurt. This could also develop into a situation where the reporters/news stations have some level of power over when and where fights actually happen, maybe there's a bargaining system in place or something to hash out those details.
However it being an official thing is also interesting, and where I'm currently leaning. Because that can have all of the above, but it's done in the open. There's rules to the game, official ones now, and as long as you play by them being a supervillain is just as acceptable (or at least necessary to the system) as being a superhero.
There's probably levels or rankings involved, like "if you're a class Bravo Superhero you can cause x amount of property damage and the government superhero fund or whatever will cover it" or "if you're a Supervillain of Y ranking you can commit up to four felonies a year". The higher the rank (hero or villain) the less people are allowed to fill it, and those spots are probably very closely vied for since higher ranks come with more permissions/freedoms. These ranks probably have a whole system going into them based on strength/powers, experience, etc, but I'd imagine popularity might very well be a direct factor.
There's vloggers who try to get in the way of super fights to get good footage (they're probably a grey area in terms of press protection rules tbh) and there's heroes and villains both who are bloggers and regularly film their encounters. There's probably a bunch of youtubers analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of supers on both sides, talking about their powers, theorizing about their lives, that kinda thing. Whatever people do with celebrities lol.
Also, because of the publicity/benefits that both heroes and villains get, sometimes people who don't initially meet the success they want in one field will switch to the other. This was actually the case with Stockman, he started out working with the EPF and switched over to the Foot Clan (assuming I go the route of "this stuff is done in the open"). I like the idea that there's a lot of complicated paperwork involved in making the switch official to dissuade people from doing it too often lol.
I'm on the fence about whether heroes are open about their 'secret identities' or not, but there's one webcomic (I Don't Want This Kind of Hero, i think) where villains actively avoided trying to find out heroes' identities and/or family members, largely because they realized that harming someone's family was a pretty solid way of getting them to break their moral code in favor of revenge. Or something like that it's been a hot sec since I read it, but anyway I think that would be fun to play with.
The turtles are probably very much in the public eye once they start actively fighting villains, partly because their whole color-coded siblings gimmick is fun/entertaining so they garner a large fanbase, and partly because they were genetically engineered to fight supervillains are very, very good at that job. It might be similar to the direction that people somethings take with Rise AUs where Big Mama raises a turtle and puts them in the Nexus, honestly, where they're also doing a lot of interviews and photoshoots and what-have-you.
thinking about how exactly stuff like superhero/supervillain fights work in universe, and I kinda wanna go goofy and say something like "yeah it gets classified as entertainment where different heroes or villains are tied to different news stations and let them know ahead of time when their fights are roughly scheduled to occur so that the station they're tied to can get the best footage" or something like that idk

I hope you’re doing well XO
Hi, hello, I still exist though my blog upkeep would say otherwise. It's been a minute. That's really sweet that you 1) thought of me and 2) wanted to check in. I start to type up something about last year but keep abandoning it because how do you casually introduce that to people's timelines?
So, yeah, ripping off the Band-Aid (putting behind a read-more in case of triggers):
Someone tried to kill me. Well, not just someone, a now-former housemate who I thought was a friend. I still don't understand what lead to it and I don't know if I ever will, because they swing between "nothing happened" and "but if something did, it's her fault" (the O.J. defense). They were removed kicking and screaming from the house by police, and a provisional APVO was served that night with the provision that they must not come within 50 metres of any place where I live or work. It's already had a few court mentions, which I didn't have to attend, but an actual hearing has been adjourned to my birthday this year (happy fucking birthday to me) upon which I expect i'll be called to give my evidence. Charges include: Armed with intent to commit serious indictable offense, destroy/damage property, intimidation, common assault, and intentional choking. They're pleading not guilty on the grounds of mental health, but pull the other one. They had awareness and intent, and the ability to understand the events and make different choices in real-time - such as putting down the knife and saying to the other housemate who was trying to keep me safe, "The only reason i'm not killing her is because you're here".
They tracked down CC (after i'd shared that shit heap of a situation with them) to try and dig for dirt to use against me. They sent the other housemate messages and accusations through her via text for a few months, until the other housemate moved out and blocked them on everything. Some continued willful actions.
Once the property recovery order was finally sorted, they sent a family member and their partner to collect their belongings, and it became obvious rather quickly that they have not been honest with anyone about what they did. The fact that they refused my initial proposal of having a mutual friend do the collection supports that. Not that them acknowledging it would provide any kind of validation or resolution - they've bent over backwards to avoid taking responsibility for themselves since i've known them. But it's that which worries me re: how the hearings could go. I have to prepare myself for the likelihood that they won't face any natural consequences for their actions. The mentions so far have been more concerned with their wellbeing than mine. I haven't been contacted by anyone in months. If it eventuates that they get to go on their merry way, i'm not sure yet how I would respond.
At least the Department of Justice has been amazing, approving an Immediate Needs Support Package to fund a complete security overhaul for the premises. My GP also referred me to a psychologist while the local Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service applied to VOCAL (Victims of Crime Assistance League) on my behalf, though nothing's come of that yet. [EDIT: I just called to follow up and they seem to have lost me in the system, which is awesome but they can't all be winners.]
I wasn't seriously injured, thankfully, besides a chunk of my hair being pulled out (and subsequent blood) and cuts and bruises around my body.
As for my mental health, i'm...okay, I guess. That I knew I needed to quickly access support to mitigate development of PTSD probably saved me from being much worse. I had panic attacks and would replay the event like a video over and over for the first few months after it happened. I have occasional moments when I have trouble dealing with it and get real hard on myself, wishing they'd finished me off. But those moments, thankfully, do pass. Maintaining connection with friends and family, as a means of navigating the trauma recovery, hasn't been easy in recent months (will cover it in another post) but in fighting against my old instinct of avoiding asking for help, it serves as a reminder that there are places and people I can still trust and feel safe around. I've basically treated myself like a client and thought, "Ignore the lies your brain is trying to feed you - what would your best self do right now?"
I survived. I'm continuing to survive. That's the big takeaway.

Incorrect Order Chapter 2 (Nessian AU)
Tumblr media
A/N: DO inform me if you wanna be added/removed from the taglist! If you happen to find my storyline similar to another fic or one of yours, I'm extremely sorry, I might've just not known. All characters belong to the author Sarah J. Mass. Enjoy!
Summary: Don't first impressions always affect the way you see someone? Well, what more with the Nesta Archeron? Nesta meets Cassian at few unexpected places and to say it didn't go well was a major understatement. Certain circumstances make them become enemies to tolerable company to friends to lovers.
Trigger Warnings: Abuse and Swearing
1957 words | Part 1 | Read on AO3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cassian was waiting. And waiting. And waiting. He waited for the day he would forget the woman’s face. He waited for the day he could close his eyes without seeing her blue-grey eyes blazing in anger. He waited for the day he wouldn’t burn his bacon because he was thinking about her.
He had mused, how the face of a stranger was branded into his mind vividly. He would be lying if he said he hadn’t wondered if they’ve known each other before or have seen each other somewhere, anywhere before the day in the mall—even if on photographs or at an event or at another shopping mall. Still, he desperately wanted to forget about her. He wanted to forget that she ever existed. He wanted to forget their encounter in the mall that day. He wanted to forget everything about her, even though deep down, he knew what he wanted was far from forgetting her.
But he couldn’t afford this. He couldn’t afford to think about her at all times. He was getting distracted at work. His part-time job as a martial-arts instructor and as a sommelier was in a precarious position if it went on like this. He nearly tore one of his student’s muscles in his centre and got at least 5 orders wrong at the restaurant he was working at.
On a Saturday noon, Cassian decided the best way to clear his head was to dive into a war book or reread Secrets Of The Sommeliers for probably the millionth time.
* * *
Nesta flinched at the sudden ping of the oven timer. Again. She’d been thinking about him again. This was the fourth time in the whole week when she burned her cheese sandwich and she was getting so tired of this. She urgently needed a way to stop thinking about him. To stop seeing his insufferable grin whenever she closed her eyes. To stop thinking about him at almost all times.
It struck her as odd, the fact they didn’t even know each other’s names but she kept seeing his face as if they’ve known each other before. She gasped. What if they had known each other before? What if they were probably neighbours from Nesta’s old house or classmates or maybe they went to the same college. Nesta shook her head.
But why should she care? No, she doesn’t care. She doesn’t care what his name is or if he even has a name. She doesn’t care if she’s had the misfortune of seeing him before or if that was the first she’s seeing him. Or so she kept telling herself. She couldn’t afford to have him occupy her thoughts. She had better things to do. But all these excuses weren't enough to stop her from still thinking about him.
Nesta looked at her clock. It was a Saturday, almost noon. Maybe reading a spicy book or two will help.
* * *
Cassian loved the House of Wind library and bookstore. They had a variety of books in almost any genre. He'll admit though, that some of the librarians here are better left alone. He was lucky he came here often and therefore knew a handful of the merrier librarians. He made a beeline for his favourite section, books related to wine, best books for sommeliers.
On his way to the shelves he had committed to memory, he realised that there was a big poster about their annual Free Premium Membership Fest where 20 fortunate, early birds would get their membership card updated to premium with a number of privileges. Cassian's whole being was elevated. He missed the last fest they held and had been waiting for the next fest. He wondered how he could forget such an important thing. Oh. Right. Of course. A certain lady was occupying his thoughts. He sighed. He forgot about that too.
He was quite disappointed when he reached the counter. The fest started yesterday and the computer stated that there was only one person left till 20. What truly disappointed him was that Clotho wasn't at the counter as she usually was. Maybe she'll be in the—
“If you're done staring at the computer maybe you could deign to move so it can really serve its purpose of being a public property?” Cass froze. He'd know that voice anywhere. This was the voice taunting him at all times. “And if you have coffee in your hands, I'd suggest you turn slowly.”
He smirked. So she knew who she was talking to.
“Well, looks like the damage would be lesser this time since your clothes aren't white,” he observed.
“I figured black would hide stains caused by ogling, clumsy people better than white,” she said. “Now, if you could move, I want to register for the Membership Fest.”
“Register? What do you mean by ‘I want to register for the Membership Fest’?”
“A register, you know,” she teased, “Something like a form where you fill your details if you want to join something?” She smirked at his glare.
“Well,” he said, “if there is a register let me fill it first.”
“Because your ego is bigger?”
“Ha-ha, very funny,” he dead-panned. “I came here first.”
“Here as in the counter or the library? Because I’m pretty sure I stepped into this library first.”
Cassian quickly checked the database where the information of all members appeared. He turned back to her with a self-satisfied smirk. “The database shows otherwise, sweetheart.”
She scowled. “I don’t believe you. You might’ve tampered with the information.”
He moved slightly to the side to give her a better view. Her scowled deepened.
She rounded on him. “You,” seethed. “You did—”
“Hello,” a new, shy voice said.
“Hey, Gwyn,” they both said in symphony.
A look of surprise crossed over her features before it faded away. When the woman turned to Gwyn, she wore a huge smile. “Oh, look, she smiles,” he muttered, earning him a glare.
“Is the fest still on?” Cassian asked.
Gwyneth Berdara, one of the joyful librarians here, said, “Unfortunately, not. We just got our 20th member.”
Cassian’s face fell. He noticed the same of the woman too. Gwyn, always the optimistic one, said cheerfully, “Maybe we could reserve one for the both of you next year?”
They both murmured their assent before Gwyn offered her farewell and went back to the staffroom.
The woman turned back to him. “This is all your fault,” she hissed and stalked out of the library, leaving Cassian more confused than ever.
* * *
Nesta went to the library to find solace or at least a semblance of it. Seeing the man there, however, left Nesta more rattled than she would care to admit. Rattled, and angry. Angry at the universe for giving them these unfortunate encounters. Angry at him for following her wherever she went. Angry at herself for feeling such futile emotions. Angry at her body for reacting to him.
She was also upset that she didn’t get a free premium member cr
Nesta was so occupied with her thoughts and emotions that she didn’t realise she was taking the wrong route. She wasn’t familiar with this part of Velaris. She also didn’t realise she was being followed. It was distinct, the sound of hushed breathing, of the soft thuds of footfalls. The footsteps sounded heavier which most probably meant it was a man. She couldn’t really be sure, though. This was a person who was not experienced in stalking but was trying hard enough.
Nesta knew she shouldn’t panic but couldn’t help the bout of fear that crashed through her. Nesta tried to stay calm. She tried to make sure she didn't quicken her pace. She tried, cauldron, she really did. But her fear was slowly overpowering her senses. She felt the urge to run away from her stalker.
But that wouldn’t be wise. Running away from her stalker isn’t a good choice. It wasn’t smart. Who’s to know he wasn’t armed? What if he was faster than her? What if her stalker was faster than her? He might be stronger too. He could over power her and cage her in. She didn’t even know what his motive was.
Then, Nesta made a ridiculously huge, dumb mistake. She turned to an abandoned alley. At least it looked abandoned. She let out a frustrated breath. Running away was at least better than getting stuck in an alley. So much for ‘that wouldn't be wise’. She looked around, trying to get a sense of where she was or if there were any means of escape, however meager it might be.
Suddenly, she was slammed to the alley wall. The rough cold stone was unforgiving and unyielding under her cheek. Her windpipe was closed off and she was struggling to get some air in. She fought to get free but her captor —a man, as she guessed— was too strong. Somehow, his hands felt familiar to her. As if she were long acquainted with this person’s touch.
“What do you want?” she gasped out.
He chuckled, the sound grating through her very bones.
“My little Nesta,” he whispered, his hot breath ghosting the shell of her ear. “Ever the stubborn one.”
That voice. It was one that she couldn’t forget as hard as she tried. Tomas Mandray, her ex-boyfriend, was someone not easily forgotten.
“Tomas,” she said. She couldn’t bring herself to be nice. Not now, not after how he treated her. “What the fuck do you want? Let me go.”
“I see you haven’t changed at all.”
“I can say the same of you.”
“Mhm. You broke up with me and then you called the police. Got me stuck behind bars for two fucking months.”
“Good riddance,” she muttered.
He slammed her head against the wall. Hard. Blinding pain shot through her. He yanked her hair so hard she was afraid chunks of it came out. Her head only throbbed harder.
“Manners were never your cup of tea,” he hissed.
“You were not that kind either. You were an empowering, possessive bastard and I don’t regret watching you grovel to the police for freedom for one fucking moment and I won’t ever.”
He growled and slammed her head against the wall again. She cried out and was pretty sure she heard something crack. She felt the metallic tang of blood on her lips, streaming from her nose freely.
“Oh, you will. You’ll regret everything. Every. Single. Thing. For your whole god-damned life. I’ll make sure of it, bitch,” he promised.
He tightened his grip on her hair that sent another wave of agony through her. She caught the glint of something in the fading sunlight. A knife. Of course he had a knife.
He had a knife while she was a mess, kneeling on an alley, completely at the mercy of one of the people who hated her the most. Pathetic. So, so, pathetic. She hated herself for whimpering. She hated herself for being this weak. She hated that she had gotten panicked enough that she turned to an alley, where no one would know.
Here, in this unknown alley, with the person she hated the most, Nesta Archeron was going to die. She was going to die a death as unknown as the place she was in. Maybe even without her sisters knowing. Shit. Her sisters. If only she showed all her love to sweet Elain and brave Feyre, if only she even went to meet her brother-in-laws, Rhysand, Azriel and Cassian, maybe things would’ve been different. She closed her eyes, fighting the emotion in her throat. I’m sorry Elain, Feyre, Rhysand, Azriel and Cassian, I’m so, so sorry, was the last thing in her head before she felt acute pain and succumbed to the dragging talons of oblivion.
(1/2) So this isn't specifically RoseGarden related but I love all the ideas you come up with so I thought I'd get your opinion on this. I've had this idea in my head for a while now that, what if the CRWBY decided to remake RWBY from V1C1 in the Maya engine with all the skills and things they've learned? I personally think that would be a cool idea since they could use that idea to fix up the story and have it start at the beginning rather than in the middle of V3.
(2/2) They could tighten up the story since, V1 (at least to me) seemed like a rough draft of what they really wanted and it would be a great opportunity to fix up the writing people always complain about. They could also make so much better scenery so we could actually see what Vale looks like and Beacon wouldn't just be a 2D picture in the background! I know some people wouldn't be fond of it since Monty wouldn't be behind it but personally I think it would be cool. Anyway, what do you think?
‘Sup Velian. Hmmthat’s actually not a bad idea. I can definitely see the CRWBY committing tosomething like that as part of some kind of anniversary milestone special,y’know what I mean? As of now, RWBY had been on the web for at least five yearswith a total of 6 seasons and 79 episodes as of Volume 6’s conclusion. If theCRWBY have the resources, the budget and the production crew to pull this offthen I can see this idea being like a full remaster of theBeacon Trilogy. I’m not sure if you’re a Kingdom Hearts fanbut KH is notorious for this kind of thing. Kingdom Hearts had its first originalgame start on the PlayStation 2 but over the years spread its game storyline acrossmultiple different consoles correlating in different engines and more or lessdifferent styles to cater to each engine, as in the case of Chain of Memories.And don’t even get me started on all the Re-Done games andFinal mixes which had additional scenes from the English versionsince the Final Mix Kingdom Hearts games were only available in Japan.
However,later…years down the line, we inevitably got Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 (andbegrudgingly KingdomHearts 2.8) which basically takes all the games and clump themtogether onto 2 discs redone in beautiful HD graphics.
Overall Ican see the CRWBY doing a remaster of theentire Beacon Trilogy (V1-V3) in the Maya Engine if they’re feeling ballsy andagain, have the time and budget to pull such a stunt off without interferingwith their schedule for other upcoming seasons of RWBY.
Or…evenbetter, they can do what Kingdom Hearts did with Unchained X, it’s game available onmobile. In 2.8, they basically created this movie that summarized the events ofUnchained Key with all the characters being modelled in the new game engine.
For yearsI’ve wanted to see the CRWBY possibly do a RWBY feature length movie. RoosterTeeth hasalready done original movies before. I’m just waiting for them to grow biggerto the point that they can evolve again and branch out to have another studiothat’s in charge of creating feature animated films including ones for known RoosterTeethproperties like RWBY.
Who doesn’t want to see a RWBY moviesomeday? Thissquiggle meister would for sure.
Besides,if the CRWBY Writers don’t wish to hot up their heads over coming up with an original concept for a movie that possibly deviates from the canonanyways (like how the Pokémon films used to move), they can always create afull feature length RWBY movie that basically summarizes the events of theBeacon Trilogy while adding a new spin on it, as you suggested.
Nowcontrary to what you and other fans might think, this squiggle meister actually thought the Beacon Trilogy was flawless. Don’t get me wrong, it had its fairshare of faults, yes, however the key thing that impressed me the most aboutthe Beacon Trilogy and why I personally will defend it as the best trilogy ofRWBY so far is because of its plot structure.
Tumblr media
Let meexplain. I’m a glutton for a well thought out, well-written, well-paced and well-structuredplot. I love stories that give me a plot where every piece ofinformation shown on screen means something in hindsight to the overallnarrative. I love it when stories create this perfectly woven spider web thataffirms that everything in the story---even those little throwaway details thatsome audience members might overlook, meant something in the development of theoverarching plot. So that when you get the final payoff, you feel this biggersense of excitement because it’s something you know the story has been buildingup to for ages. It’s why I get why fans love the Marvel movies. Each movie wasjust a piece of a thought out Cinematic Universe that’s been building for yearsand it’s still going strong.
I mean, Ilove surprises and moments just thrown in for shock value in stories too but Ilove it even more when I get stories where everything is connected andadds up to something bigger; y’know what I mean?
This iswhy the Beacon Trilogy will always be perfect in my eyes because it had a great structure. Everything addedup. Almost every detail the CRWBY Writers introduced to us between V1 and V2meant something in the grander scheme that led up to V3.  If I had to compare the Beacon Trilogy tosomething, it would be a well-baked lasagne with each volume representing theperfectly staked layers of meat and cheese that slowly build up to a savouryplot of baked perfection (meaning V3 and the Fall of Beacon) that anyone cansink their teeth into.
This iswhy if the CRWBY ever redid the Beacon Trilogy, I don’t want nor do I expectthem to change anything. At this moment, the Beacon Trilogy---the first threeseasons of RWBY are by far some of the best seasons in the show. Between the Beacon Arc and the Mistral Arc, Beacon still stands superior to itssuccessor because of that strong plot structure; something that Miles and Kerryunfortunately did not carry over into the Mistral Arc.
Theystarted off decently in V4 but messed up sadly in the middle with V5. V6 waspretty much damagecontrol for what transpired in V5while setting up for V7 and for the most part, V6 was a great season. Still thebest of the Mistral Arc for me, hands down. It’s just unfortunate that theCRWBY Writers had that slip up in V5 because that’s what most fan critiqueskeeping bringing up. I, as always, have a different stance on this.
I actuallydisagree with you Velian. The overall story did technically start in V1. I meanfrom V3, the key plot of RWBY definitely did kick in more but everythingstarted from V1.V1, by my observation was a solid good season to me. V1 wasabout establishing the important details---our main cast of colourful characters,the setting for the arc and our course our key villains while at the same timeproviding the first instance of what was going to be the main conflict goingforward.
The mainconflict of the Beacon Arc which was the Fall of Beacon at the Vytal Festivalwas something that had clues dropped as early as V1 with Torchwick. RomanTorchwick was the man who the audience identified with since he was the villainwe mostly got to see this scheme get conducted through. It wasn’t until V2 whenthings started to pick up with the involvement of Cinder, Emerald and Mercury.I don’t want to go too much into this but…everything about the Fall of Beaconstarted to build up from V1. In V2, we got more clues but we still weren’tclear on what the main plan was until V3. The CRWBY did a great job of buildingthe suspense and mystery toward the Fall of Beacon so when it finally wentdown, you were surprised but you also got this sense of revelation when yourealize that everything that happened in the volumes before it meant somethingin the grander scheme of things. At least by my eyes. You, of course, have yourown thoughts on that.
I guesswhat I’m trying to say overall is that I like your idea. I think it canhonestly work better as a remaster as part of an anniversary type of event orperhaps a movie where we get to relive our favourite moments of the BeaconTrilogy. However it’s not a straight retelling of the original story. I likeyour idea of it adding more to the story than what we received before plus itreally would be lovely to see Vale remastered in the Maya engine with all thatthe CRWBY had learnt over the past three seasons.
Not sureif they would actually do something like that. However, it’s a pretty sweet idea=) Hope this answers your question, fam.
how the tables have turned. sam elliott just appeared and i cannot explain to you in words how absolutely beyond fuckable he is
thirdly: it's embarrassing how uncomfortable this perfectly nice doctor lady looks in patrick swayze's loft apartment. the whole scene is trying to be dirty dancing and failing MISERABLY
patrick swayze should really be making john locke’s organ-stealing father pay for these endless car repairs
holy property damage. i don't know when i've seen more successive absolutely no-reason senseless stupid fights in my life. also, ben gazzara is the least interesting villain, although i have no patience for agents of chaos in general. the entitlement of mennnnn
hottie sam elliott is right. you don't need this, patrick swayze. I LOVE YOU MIJO ohhhh i'd watch them kiss forever
A SECOND BUILDING EXPLODED? now patrick swayze's parkouring off the roof to save that sweet old farmer man. EVIL LAUGH MOTORCYCLE MAN??? this movie is entirely too much. surprise gun to a roundhouse kick to the face fight! aaaaand now patrick has committed a murder.
oh shit, patrick's got some confidence leaving that mercedes-benz in the parking lot.
ONE OF THEM DIES??????? THAT MAN SENT HIS GANG TO HURT MY BABY DON'T YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE, PATRICK SWAYZE.
OPE. NEVER MIND. LOVE OF MY LIFE HAS BEEN MURDERED.
tails again, motherfucker! death by polar bear!
TROUNCED BY THE TOWNSPEOPLE??? FINALLY? how many damn bullets can this man take
i had no idea what to expect. road house (1989) is maybe the worst movie i've seen in years. i sort of had fun. points for the very talented blind blues singer jeff healey, and of course for sam elliott, before the horribly unfortunate murder of sam elliott.
(thank you for coming to what became a liveblog)
i'm watching road house (1989) for the first time. so far this movie hates every woman that exists, and every man either wants to fuck patrick swayze or kill him
I'd be surprised if there's a consensus across the multiverse, honestly. I certainly hope you don't have to deal with the slagheads we have out here.
I'm sure there are perfectly decent and reasonable people living on at least some of the worlds they govern, but the Galactic Council is not a species, a culture, or even a government. They're a large alliance composed of individual planetary governments whose representatives come together to settle their problems. Sounds good, right?
I can respect the feelings organic government leaders have about the Cybertronian civil war and its effects throughout this galaxy.
I cannot respect the idiots who make up the Galactic Council.
You want to ask me for reparations from Destron on behalf of your people or wherever you come from? Sit down and we will see what we can do.
You want to negotiate where the borders are and under what circumstances people can cross them? Talk to the Council of Worlds.
You want to have a convocation to discuss what kinds of weapons of mass destruction should and shouldn't exist and how they should be handled? Great.
This is not what they do.
If I sat you down and said, "in order to destabilise the Earth-Destron Alliance, I want to send one of my agents to kill and replace a candidate for President of the United States of America..."
Hopefully the first thing you'd say would be: "Ravage, have you lost your mind?"
But let's assume you didn't. Let's assume you said, "Which candidate? It's got to be Trump, right? He's the only one whose followers are so gullible and whose behaviour is so erratic that an alien agent could successfully pull this off."
And I said, "No. It's Megan Guiglione."
And you'd say, "Who the fuck is that? They must be new!"
So then I'd say, "Yeah. Yeah she is."
And you'd say, "okay, so which organic species did you recruit your agent from? This person is going to be constantly watched and surrounded by humans at all times."
And then I would say, "Why bother with that? We'll just send Overlord! We had to make him a new body after the last job we sent him on turned him into a living flowerbed, so we made him a really fancy pretender shell!"
And then you would have me committed. Right?
Did this spectacularly brilliant and well-thought out plan succeed?
Of course not. But stupid people are terrible enemies. They will still do lots of damage, because you can't predict their awful decisions using anything even remotely like logic. The Earth-Destron Alliance survived, but there was a lot of damage to people and property on all sides, and on top of that, it attracted the Wreckers back into the system.
That's the Galactic Council that I know.
Please tell me there is actually a universe where they have a purpose other than fucking slag up.
Tumblr media
What's the general consensus on the Galactic Council?
