Anon-sending-the-long-tanistry-asks back again! Maybe to keep the rivalry between Thistleclaw and Bluefur for the deputy position Thistleclaw is a close relative of Sunstar? In canon his only relative, that we know of, is his brother Featherwhisker who is a medicine cat. (in this AU would Featherwhisker have been kept from taking that path without another option for deputy?) But with a slight tweak it could be rivalry between different ideologies as well as blood vs adoption. That might even add to Tigerclaw's belief he deserves to be leader if his father/mentor impressed upon him that Bluestar stole leadership from their family. Also, will Hawkfrost and Mothwing be in RiverClan still/in this AU at all? I've always been interested in the fact that Hawkfrost was able to successfully fake a sign from StarClan, and in an AU with this kind of inheritance it'd be cool to see if that's something that's been abused in the past/something he can use in the present. Also, since Graystripe would just be a stopgap deputy (in the clan's eyes) would there be tension if Firestar didn't promote Cloudtail as soon as Brightheart had Whitekit? (Or would he make Cloudtail his deputy without reluctance?) In canon he didn't want to choose a new deputy even while everyone was sure Graystripe was gone, so I imagine a similar thing could happen here even without the pressure of Graystripe being gone. (and then if Graystripe still gets taken it could be considered a sign it's time for Firestar to choose a new heir.) At the same time I think it would be interesting to see how a rivalry between Squirrelpaw and Brambleclaw would play out. I remember in one of your original posts you speculated that Squirrelpaw would be under pressure to become a good candidate once she reached adulthood. If Firestar was refusing to replace Graystripe it might be misconstrued as him waiting for Squirrelpaw (or maybe Brambleclaw) to meet the requirements and that could add extra pressure to one or both of them. But all of this is assuming Firestar wouldn't go with the flow of Clan customs and replace Graystripe, or that he isn't actually waiting for Squirrelpaw to grow up so she can be his deputy, he very well might be waiting for that. Since this last little bit has been about Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw, that also makes me wonder if a leader's mate is an acceptable choice for deputy. Or if they're waiting for their kits to grow up if the mate is a stand in for them. I swear I don't keep plan on making these long, but every time I start typing I just seem to think or more and more things I want to ask about! I'm excited for this and I love the titles you came up with! Even though the sword is kind of just a left over, I do like that it's light and shadow being contrasted in names. (and enemies being unable to escape in battle reminds me of how Brokentail was able to take all of Raggedstar's lives in a single blow like Scourge with Tigerstar. It also adds to the way the other clans talk about ShadowClan in the first series, as ruthless fighters that have had their hearts hardened by cold North winds.) I'm excited to see what else you come up with!

I very much like that idea! Thistleclaw representing an idea of blood absolutism while Bluefur representing an idea that connections through mentorship are just as valid. It's with Sunstar afterall that the mentor-apprentice deputy chain in ThunderClan starts. I can even see how in his search for returning the leadership to his family, spurred on by Thistleclaw, Tigerclaw could very well spare Whitestorm. Afterall, if either ends up as deputy it's goal accomplished, although Tigerclaw would very much prefer it was him. There's much to consider here, but that's good, thank you for the suggestion.

Oh man, Hawkfrost! Hell yeah, I like him in RiverClan. The fact he's one of the Tigerspawn really puts a different spin on his deputyship rivalry with Mistyfoot. Obviously she's the preferred candidate being related to Stonestar by blood and with stuff shifted around so Leopardfur was never an elligible candidate for deputyship he's probably Stonestar's apprentice. Afterall, giving Mothpaw to Mistyfoot and Hawkpaw to Leopardstar was an attempt to show them acceptance so if we shift the leader around Hawk had to have still been the leader's apprentice. That's also an interesting contrast to Bluefur and Thistleclaw's whole deal. Hmmmmm, this is an alluring prospect to write...

Regarding the situation with Graystripe... I feel like Firestar would be reluctant to appoint Cloudtail at all and it's definitely going to be misconstrued as him waiting on Squirrelpaw. Cloudtail had a rather... eventful youth let's say, and I can see Firestar worrying he might not be leader material, a sentiment the Clan probably agrees with to some extent. So until he shows change, or Brambleclaw meets the requirements, I don't think Firestar would cave in on replacing Graystripe. Squirrelpaw is an afterthought in deputy considerations I feel. Fire doesn't want to pile on too much pressure on her, but of course that's not the message the rest of the Clan is getting. So he pressures her kind of on accident? And I don't think she'd confront her dad about it so it's pressure she's got to bear on her own.

ACTUALLY THAT'S SUCH A BRILLIANT IDEA! I think it fits with this insecurity that's so characteristic of Bramble has if he starts thinking of Squirrelpaw, a teenage girl, as his rival from early on. All the while Squirrelpaw is triyng so hard to fit into the mold everyone assumes her father wants to put her in and it's kind of exhausting for her. She probably much rather Bramble actually get the stupid deputyship so she can have space to breathe.

Of course, as these things go she can't really express it outwardly so the two are locked into this conflict until then. I don't see them getting together within the same timeframe as in canon. Perhaps later after he has locked in the deputyship and she needs someone to help her out with the kits Leafpool asked her to take. I'm imagining something akin to solacefruit's but I couldn't care for the history as the start of their relationship and as they act the part of mates and parents they eventually fall in love?

GOSH, this is so cute. I'm not often one for wholesome Bramblesquirrel, even when I'm in full Brambledad revisionist fanfictions mode I tend to split them up or else have their relationship still be strained at best. But I just cannot pass up the cuteness of this concept. Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight can have a wholesome relationship, as a treat.

I would say in Bramble's case having Squirrel as deputy probably would have more to do with her being Firestar's daughter than with her being his mate. So yeah, typically mate of the leader not an acceptable choice, the mate in question would have to have other relationship to power in order to really be elligible.

RIGHT! That's another connection between ShadowClan and the Sword of Light. They are a clan of ruthless fighters, not letting their enemies retreat until they're done with them. This is a RP blog for a so-canon-divergent-its-basically-an-AU Dabi from mha. What's different? Glad you asked. Read down below.

First, like the bio states, Dabi is a trans woman (she/they) in this. For the sake of more storytelling potential, when starting out a new relationship with a muse, she will still be an egg. When in that state, narration will use they/them pronouns for her. If you want to start out with a post-egg Dabi, just let me know

Her backstory is much, much worse than in canon, and involves extremely heavy topics with just about every kind of abuse under the sun (yes, including that one). I won't ever RP it happening, and it will only ever be explored as backstory, and the gorier details will only ever be implied. That being said...

Her present isn't much better, and includes such topics as extremely severe restrictive eating disorders, hard drug use, alcoholism, and the aftermath of aforementioned extreme abuse. Not to mention the laundry list of other complexes, disorders, and conditions that come from having such a background and lifestyle.

Dabi will NOT recognize remorseful Endeavors, or Endeavors whose past actions align somewhat with canon, as the same person as her own Endeavor. It is, and will be treated as, a person from an entirely different universe

If your Endeavor muse has a flexible story with regard to how he treated his children, and you want my Dabi to recognize him as from her universe, you need to be comfortable with him having committed the most heinous kind of abuse possible. Sorry, this AU does not position Endeavor in a sympathetic light whatsoever

I have not kept up with the manga or anime since shortly after the reveal, and do not plan on catching up anytime soon as I am dissatisfied with the direction the story has taken, so the default state is set during that time in the story. If you want our threads to take into account information that has happened since then, you'll have to fill me in on the relevant details.

Her quirk has undergone an evolution at some point, but she is as of yet unaware of the development. The evolution being that she regenerates when exposed to freezing temperatures or making physical contact with ice. This is a slow process, and at its baseline just barely does enough to keep her alive despite the damage her habits do to her body. Yes, if given enough exposure, this could heal her scars, but that hinges on her discovering the evolution first.

okay so i’m so glad you thought about ibiza waiting patiently for her dad & then he doesn’t show up bc that’s exactly what i had in mind!! & yeah him not being a totally shit dad really does make everything bittersweet. like yeah he does not want to be a father but he really does not want a little girl that he helped bring into the world to have to fend for herself. i also thought about his debt kind of impacting his life other than y’know… the loss of his life. like maybe it affected his job search. it’s a small town so everyone knows everyone & everyone knows about his debt. so this led to people not wanting to hire him partly bc they figured since he’s got such a massive debt that he might not be trustworthy or bc they didn’t want to be around when the people he owed came to collect. also i do see ibiza blaming herself for her dad “abandoning” her. especially with the organization shoving the idea that her parents didn’t want her & that this place was the best option for her down her throat. maybe she starts thinking “i should’ve helped him make some money. i should’ve done more. maybe he would’ve come back for me if i did more” even though she was just a kid… and maybe this thought process rears it’s ugly head when she gets into a relationship w someone. platonic or romantic. she’ll feel like she has to do so much not only to make up for the fact that it’s her but to get them to stay.

I would also like to just say that I am actually the same height as tubbo so personally this feels very accurate lmfao.

But also I feel like a few nights after getting back to LA, at like 3am and the reader and corpse are curled up on the sofa marathoning some TV show, maybe an anime, and the reader quietly admitting that they're terrified for the teenagers having such an enormous audience - "I would know, it's fucking scary, I was just as successful at their age and it ruined my life."

Sorry to get heavy for a moment I just think a lot about the reader being a youtuber since their were 15 and my heart hurts. They were baby!! They have to be careful about what they say when people ask for tips on becoming a YouTuber because their instinctual answer is Don't. But also living through what YouTube was and what it has become, I feel like in the month after their tour with 5SOS but before hyperfocus released they spent a lot of time listening to YouTube Culture by Jon Cozart (which slaps and I know word for word,,,,, it makes mefucking feral,, not to bag current YouTube Culture - I run a whole YouTube sideblog - but this song still feels very relevant)

Generally now the reader enjoys what they do now that they're back to only making the kind of content they enjoy, but they are INCREDIBLY self aware, seeing as how they got to decide how the world perceived them, which is so much more pressure now that they've been doing this for almost a decade.

But also both the reader and corpse work far too hard and but only ever worry about each other and not themselves. It's actually kind of cute, they've managed to realise that if the other seems they need a break from being online and focusing on nothing but their work, it's a good indication that they both need a break. Maybe rent an air bnb for 2 nights simply to get out of their apartment and just log off completely for a few days, act like they're anyone but themselves. I have this single image in my head of them sitting alone at the end of a pier, legs dangling over the water as the sun sets all orange and purple and gold. It's a very serene moment, and though this isn't generally canon, in this image in my mind, their shadows stretch back behind them and you can see their horns and halo with their shadow's silhouette.

Some thoughts/ hot takes below:

I've seen a few posts about this kind of thing and while we generally don't want to promote traffic to pages of bigots, and in this circumstance of w*******es either, the majority of the time we just reblog things and they circulate - it isn't general practice to comb through all of the ppl in the reblog chain to see if they have any kind of phobic content in their mains or sideblogs unless something they said raises a red flag. Fandom is the same imo - I'm not generally going though the post history of everyone on a post; most ppl don't either.

Some ppl go as far as to block people from seeing their content if they also engage with things like w******t. (But those ppl also tend to unintentionally (?) bait fights by using tags like 'w*ncesties dni'. People tend to mind their own business and likely won't send hate mail if you don't do that. I've only had to block like 3 ppl for hate mail and that was after tagging posts with 'j*red' - meaning they track those censored tags to pick fights.)

I'm generally not someone who goes through and blocks anyone and everyone who happens to have.... other ships / who interacts with other content.

I just don't engage with them.

If someone leaves me a nice comment on a fic, and I happen to click their profile and see something that is jarring to me, I just say thank you to the comment like anything else and I move on. Their page is just not for me.

If you unknowingly reblog something where someone like that is in the reblog chain, sometimes people jump down your throat. So I just wanted to preempt that with a disclaimer in the tags.

Now onto our beans!! First monsta x, ahhhh just, perfection. Literally monsta x always delivers with perfect style and music. Legit if you want some mafia themes with some sxhmexy spice then monsta x is for you lol. I'm a bit sad to shownu didn't join the promos *sigh* but i understand! Hyungwon and jooheon did a great job covering his part (which I was surprised to hear their vocals because usually in my experience they would either lip sing to the backing track or leave the spot empty for the missing member so to hear them sing was a surprise!) No wins sadly but its alright, the boys did amazing nonetheless and am proud of them! Fjakdjak me with secrets as well. I'm bopping and am thinking 'wait, why do I understand what they are singing' then I noticed it was in English as well haha. Gambler is on repeat alot I just cannot get enough of it

Now onto exo, the kings. The legends, the boys are back *insert the boys are back from hsm3* this comeback is everything. I legit cannot say anything bad about the title track nor bsides, they are all great and fun to listen to! No skips, the fact they even worked on it to make it like a gift for the fans. I legit thought this would be like tempo but worse because while news was saying a 'full' exo comeback, no news for lay for a while and while I was happy to see his teasers (forever am salty we only have one album of lay at all which is the jewel case version. I understand things might be tricky but still ya know?) I was fishy lol. I had no trust with sm but to our surprise we hear lay more properly. Sure he could have more lines but he isn't pulling an nct winwin so I'm not complaining!! I will take this over tempo lol. Apparently they shot the mv during minseok and his bday so that made me extra soft, exo won over butter so I'm happy dancing. As they should, as they should. Now seventeen!! Its finally comeback time so thoughts on the comeback? Ngl I at first didn't bop to ready to love, I feel bad because always their comebacks were ones I always enjoyed and liked right away but yet, this time around I watched the mv and listened to the song and was sitting there confused like ??? That was all, I felt a bit like there was something missing within the song but I couldn't tell what and it was bugging me for a week njdjajd. However, I had the song on repeat and it grew on me!! Which is very much ok I think, while I did feel bad, im human and we all have different tastes and not everyone will like title tracks! The chorus is super catchy and the guitar? I think it is the guitar lol, that you hear is fantastic. I still think the song is missing something but this might be just me being nit picky.
