Had a lost cat yowling outside my door last night...it probably belonged to someone in my same apartment building but it didn't have a dang tag so I had to take it to the only open shelter at that hour which was a good 30 mins away. Kitty was not very happy but didn't claw or try to run. The last lost cat I picked up at least had a tag so I could bring it back to its home address and put it back inside (since the front door was swinging open, which explained how it escaped...)

Anyways while at the shelter I was surrounded by kitties so obviously I was set upon by the urge to adopt. These two senior cats both call to me...Chicken Noodle has a top tier name but Leonidas looks like he walked out of a Looney Tunes cartoon...

loved what you said about each of the robins loving and fighting for gotham in their own way. comparing them, when they give so much, feels kinda unfair or at least pointless.

I do have to ask tho on the note that each robin loves gotham differently. they all have complicated relationships with the city- their long histories filled with love, hurt, joy, family, tragedy,,. I wonder if Dick's perception and love of gotham will always be tainted by the fact that his parents were killed there. his home and way of life where taken away from him. by, at first a petty criminal, then what turns out to be a massive organization in the shadows and roots of gotham. he loves gotham. but he wonders what it would be like if haleys what never connected with the court, or if they didn't stop by gotham when they did. if he had a normal life had he been adopted into a family from a different state. would he still have become the man he was now. what did he gain. what did he lose.

he was not born there. he even left for other cities. yet he keeps going back. is it the familial loyalty, genuine love for gotham despite all its taken from him? is it a sign that he's moved on from his desire for vengeance to selfless heroism?

sorry for the ramble. just have so many thoughts about dick and gotham. given his long literary history, ive probably barely even scratched the surface.

i think, honestly, everyone who loves gotham has a twisted relationship with it. bruce, dick, jason, tim, duke, and steph all lost their parents to the city, in one way or another. they've lost so many people they love to its bowels, but i don't think it taints their love for the grime much. it'd be easy to walk away from the city, continue to help people and save lives in another. but, like i said last time, i think it's the love they have despite their tragedies that fuels who they are and how they see the city

the "what-if" scenario is always going to be at the forefront of everyones minds. what if haly's had never ventured to gotham? what if they hadn't walked down crime alley? what if he hadn't been caught stealing the batmobile tires? what if, what if, what if.

i can't speak on what everyone else would do, but i know for a fact that dick wouldn't trade the life he has now for the one he used to have. dick loves with his entire heart, but he loves in the present. i think the murder of his parents really sent that message home for dick. dick would rather love those that are in front of him with his entire being than keep half of his heart sheltered in the past, away from the ones who are with him now. dick knows what it is to have everything taken away from you in the blink of an eye; family, friends, his home. he lost everything that night, and dick will always strive to learn from his mistakes so he never makes the same mistake twice. so, dick wouldn't trade the life, the family, he has now for the one he used to, but i'm sure he does think about the what-could-haves and should-haves of the past. he doesn't linger on them though, not when he has love to give and receive from those around him

i think he comes back to gotham precisely for that love he carries with him. he doesn't want to make the same mistakes twice. he doesn't want to lose another family, ever, so of course he's going to return. bludhaven is a bit like a metaphor though; gotham was his home when he was younger, but he's grown up. he's ready for new things in life. everyone has to leave home at some point and explore, and even though his family, his home, was in gotham, dick needed to leave in order to grow. he didn't leave because he hates the city or doesn't want to be reminded of all that he lost; dick returns because he loves the city and wants to see all of which he has gained

i view dick as a bit of a nomad- he can travel anywhere and fit in quite comfortably, but i don't think he's ever going to be satisfied. dick is full of potential and, in some ways, he's never going to reach his highest potential because he has an infinite capacity to grow and change. no one is bound to gotham, perhaps some need the city more than others, but in the end, it's the love dick has for the inhabitants more so than the city itself that keeps him returning

First of all, Clotted Creams and Expressos are nuetral with one another and can get along since both are observant and do their best when given a task, so if the two decides to work together, they may accomplish a task faster and with more accuracy

Both Cookies will want to get to know their new home, mind you, they are very observant, Espressos especially so even the smallest of out of place items will not escape unnoticed by him, it is important to give them each a area of their own where they can be alone if they wish too, Epressos will prefer to have their areas with books while Clotted Creams will prefer their area as a relaxing like a small table for them to eat deserts

Clotted Creams are first seen as affogatoes and are hated since at first, everyone taught they were deceptful and manipulative, however, while they do have a habit of excessively planning ahead of time, they are true to their worlds and are very polite! So they love when one trusts their plans and ideas, even so if someone disagrees with him, they will always try to find a better plan if its for the betterment of others

Expressos love to be very busy cookies but even then, they need sleep no matter what they say, so even tho most are prideful to admit, having a adopt who cares about their health and sleep will be great of them, and also if you allow them to make you coffee, tho you may need to pass if you aren't used to expressos yet, they are quite strong

Like again, Since everyone thought Clotted Cream are like Affogatoes, they were at first treated quite harshly and sadly, some still do that, not will this make the Clotted Cream more insecure and Anxious about planning ahead of time, but they may also start to think of themselves as the bad guys which is of course not the case,

Due to their often Sassy and Bitter (no pun intented) Nature, Expressos are often only adopted when one need help with academics and would only call on them in need of help, of course, even as most grumpy of Expressos will need a one on one interaction with their adopters to strengthen their bond, they may enjoy working alone but even thr most introverted of Cookies need a hand every now and then, oh and also adding Milk to Coffee, they hate those

As long as you are ready to be understanding and patient to both Clotted Cream and Expresso and are willing to devote the time to spend with them, then you are quite ready, just make sure you don't let your Expresso see you make coffee, especially if you add milk to it

- Raph will ask tons of questions about the languages, your background and about your family. Will be careful when topic goes around your grandfather. Wants to know about him but won't push you to tell.

- First when you met he thought you are only shy and quiet but oh boy he was wrong! He better not pick up another fight with you too soon again....Yet he would love to fight with you soon. That temper and fire you have makes him smile. Also using your native languages along with english in fight is challenge he accepts.

- Your shyness, quietness is well balanced with your temper and fierceness in his opinion. You both can talk and just listen to each other. No need to fill every space with talk.

- He is kind of pessimistic and grumpy but your positive attitude wonders him. It's like you are the sun that shines and just makes people smile. At least him. Raph wants to spend more and more time with the sun ;)

- Wants to call you and get sunshine come thru a phone. It will make him feel better and makes him see things differently, about himself too.
