– first time clubbing with boyfriend!san
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
fic type: headcanon
pairing: choi san x fem!reader
description: just san taking you to the club for a night out after seeing you so stressed with studying
genre: fluff (?), mildly suggestive, established relationship
warning/s: use of alcohol, pet names (if i missed anything else pls lmk!)
wc: 1.1k
a/n: this is supery dupery self indulgent LMAO and as a giggly drunk myself, i'd like to have a choi san too pls!
* i would rlly appreciate it if you reblog and leave some feedbacks btw!
— !¡☆
UNI was stressing you out
all the studying had your head always drowning in books and you rarely leaving your room
your boyfriend, choi san, knew he had to do something
now, san had a lot of options in his head on how to help you take a break
bcos even if you kept insisting that you didn't need one
san KNEW that it was only a matter of time before you burst and break down
and so he surprises you while you're eating dinner with him one night,
"do you wanna do something fun tomorrow night?" "what? san, you know i can't afford to-"
"please?" he cuts you off, PLEADING
and who were you to say no to a pouting san?
you were ALWAYS a weak woman for him
"fine," you say, giving in. "what do you have in mind?"
"wanna go clubbing with me, baby?"
as soon as those words left his mouth, he sees it
sees the way your eyes sparkle with something akin to excitement and then you're blurting out,
"oh god, yes!"
the following night, san enters your bedroom after he was done getting ready
his hair was slicked back, he was dressed in a black button down shirt with the first two buttons unbuttoned
a silver necklace dangling on his neck, a sliver of his chest exposed
he's wearing black slacks and a belt with silvery chains hanging on it
since this will be your first night out, he wanted to look good for you
and boy was it a pleasant surprise when he enters your room and see you all dolled up from head to toe
"well, aren't you a sight to see?" san marvels while he watches you apply lipstick
you were oozing with such allure in a dress you're wearing for the first time that san thinks he's severely beguiled with you
and so it goes without saying that his eyes never left you even until you left the house
the only time san's gaze breaks away from you was when he was driving
arriving at the club, san immediately turns to you and asks,
"hey, i know, we're already here and all but i just wanna say that if you wanna back out and go home, we still can, just say the word and-"
san knew just how much your family coddled you while growing up
and you've only started to venture out of your comfort zone when you met him
so he understands how settings like this might overwhelm-
"are you kidding me?" you gave him an incredulous look, cutting off his rambling
"i wanna get hammered!" you shout against the blaring club music
and then you were the one pulling him further inside past the sweaty bodies and the heavy smell of alcohol and the blinding neon lights
"unfortunately i wont be getting my usual today, so i'll just have a soda ," san says since he'll be driving. "but, hmm, maybe a tequila sunrise for this pretty lady right here" he tells the bartender and winks at you
you roll your eyes, your gaze shifting to the dancefloor
"can i dance…later?" you ask san
san barks out a laugh and pinches your cheek
"i won't be stopping you tonight, baby, so go ahead. tonight will be all about you," he whispers these in your ear, goosebumps trailing your skin
you haven't drunk anything yet, but you already felt hot just like that
when your drinks do came, you surprise san at how you basically drunk it in one draft
"baby, hey, hey, we got all night!" he chuckles trying to get you to slow you down
soon, one tequila sunrise became five, and you were already red from the drinks and laughter
you were a giggly drunk how cute
"i think," you slur, pointing at san and then abruptly standing that you slightly wobble due to dizziness. "i think i'm ready to hit the dancefloor"
san grabs a hold of your arm, asking if do you want him to escort you to the center but you brushed him off
you were still giggling when you walked away
while you were dancing the night away, san just keeps staring at you
watching every move you make, every smile popping out to grace your lips, and every glance you sent his way
you were mouthing for him to come join you but he shook his head
san wanted you to have your fun for now
he wanted you to let loose so badly that you'll be screaming at his face tomorrow morning for letting you drink that much
but then, deeper into the night, he starts noticing that more eyes were on you now and that your intoxicated self remained oblivious to it
san downs the remaining liquid in his canned drink, licks his lips, and leaves the bar, deciding it was finally time to join you
unaware, your dancing was starting to become bolder as you become hotter with all the alcohol coursing through your system and all the body heat emitted by everyone surrounding you
and then you feel hands on your waist
a familiar scent filling your senses and you immediately knew it was san who was behind you
you let your body become slack against his while he rocks your bodies from side to side, his hands pulling you even closer and face leaning in
you bring your hand up, caressing his face while he speaks to you in a low tone
"are you having fun, baby?" his lips brush against the shell of your ear making you shiver
you reply with a mere hum, giggling as his hot breath tickles your face
"i take it you loved my suggestion then?" "mhmm, i loveddd it san, i love youu" you mumble, smiling with your eyes closed
san chuckles at your drunk self, he doesn't really think you'll end up remembering MOST of this tomorrow
but at least you had fun
and so was he, san thinks as he smirks
later on not so subtly meeting the gaze of this one person he caught looking at you since earlier
by the time he was about to drive the both of you back home
san steps out of the car, heavily exhaling, after laying you down in the passenger seat
he needed a breather especially that he didn't expect the scenario of you grinding on him earlier at the dancefloor
san left the house with with you, hand in hand, and two of his buttons unbuttoned
and now, he comes home with you passed out in his arms and his button down shirt open

Uncanny Valley reader
I don't remember what part
Male reader
Violence, fluff
🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷(name)s move was prompt.
Ran watching the cats explore the new area and a majority of (name)s belongings in storage (mostly his stuffed toys and furniture), The Bonten executive excited to have his strange boyfriend around more often.
(Name) held his hello kitty blanket and squishmallow confused and Ran cooed "you can put your stuff anywhere darling, my home is yours"
(Name) tentatively put his stuff in little areas, a stuffed plush there and his blanket on the bed.
That was another thing ran was going to enjoy.
Sharing a bed with (name).
Ran was determined to be a good boyfriend to (name) who also did try his best in his own way, the broker letting ran cuddle him and even wear one of rans shirts to bed.
Ran didnt want (name) finding a new apartment.
Though the others?
They couldn't stand it.
And boy did it FILL RAN WITH SO MUCH JOY.
(Name) and rans schedules were surprisingly similar though ran did have to drag (name) from his computer to bed when the man wouldn't sleep with the promise of more Cat videos and people watching at the park.
(Name) liked how ran smelled.
He always smelt very nice, expensive.
(Name) never imagined having a relationship much less being the little spoon, letting ran take the lead in the relationship. He didn't think he would enjoy not being in control but Ran seemed to know what he was doing so (name) let him do as he pleased.
Ran learned (name)s likes and dislikes, he wasn't fond of big fancy dinners often, the broker liked private rooms to eat and ran didn't mind, less likely to get killed that way.
(Name) was also not easy to impress as the man was always on edge but Ran learned what he liked.
Cute things and soft things.
Ran was truly dating a cat.
The two got ready at the same time, Ran splitting his closet for (name) "you have so many plush toys and blankets but three suits"
"Yes?"
"We have very different priorities, I know how much Bonten pays you so why don't you buy suits baby?"
Ran also learned (name) liked nicknames and pet names but only out of the public eye "Why would I need more?"
"Why not?"
Today was a rare day off, ran deciding to take (name) out clothes shopping, the man having one set of pajamas, three suits and five casual pants and shirts.
Ran was appaled.
Ran managed to convince his boyfriend to go clothes shopping with the promise of buying him a limited edition plush toy.
What they weren't counting on was Bonten tagging along in disguises..
"Wear this..." Mikey commanded to the deadpan broker, handing him a god awful shirt but the man just shrugged and went into the change room and tried it on.
"When can I get my plush" (name) said deadpan, clearly not enjoying this experience and ran wanted to scream, not at (name) but at the others who were taking up his time but Ran appreciated how (name) always focused his attention on his boyfriend when asking questions. "(Name)! Try this!" Koko beamed and held clearly women's lingerie and the broker just looked cold and dead before going and changing into his clothes and walking out of the store "God damn it..." Ran mumbled.
Over the months with (name) he learned (name)s tells and he knew (name) was very much done.
He ended up finding him at a gatcha machine corner getting little keychains.
(Name) was beyond uncomfortable, he didn't have experience with a lot of people at once and malls were only used for people watching or info gathering.
Not people who he knew didn't like him months prior suddenly wanting attention.
He didn't understand.
"Hey baby, cute keychains" Ran joked and (name) looked at him "I'm not some doll to be dressed, can we end this errand and return to your apartment?" (Name) mumbled gripping the keychains, he didn't even get his plush like promised.
Ran nodded and ended up ditching Bonten (save for Rindō who he asked to get the plush and a few other cute things for (name)) and went back to the penthouse "they're insistence is confusing and unwelcome" (name) said simply "yeah, I wish they would lay off too..." Ran said bringing him to the livingroom where the cats were currently very entranced with the birds on the balcony.
Ran smiled as (name) and him ended up cuddling on the couch, the broker clearly overwhelmed and overstimulated and after head scratches and shows Ran introduced (name) to, the man was out cold in comfy clothes.
He looked absolutely precious.
People often forgot who and what (name) was and did.
He was absolutely precious to Ran but seeing him beat a guy senseless with a briefcase and an empty expression was both horrifying and *hot* to the elder Haitani. The man was half conscious as (name) bent down "don't try and swindle me" he hissed out and bashed the guys face into the floor before getting up.
(Name) recently began working with Bonten fully no longer as an information broker but as an intelligence gatherer strictly under Bonten.
"I don't like this apartment" (name) said simply as he looked it over, it was a very nice place, state of the art appliances and an excellent view of the city "what don't you like about it?" Ran asked as Rindō checked out the rooms "it's not right"
This had been (name)s answer for the past four apartments and Ran was confused, what was wrong with these places?
Then it clicked.
And Ran was smug.
(Name) now only slept in Rans bed, in Rans clothes and cuddling ran.
He got ready with Ran.
He ate with Ran.
He did most things with Ran.
What was missing from the apartments was Ran.
"Still looking for an apartment?" Koko asked (name) who was walking to his new office as (name) technically counted as an executive as he was in charge of an entire sector.
"Yes" (name) said smiling, he didn't like Kokos company or most of their company "well an apartment opened up in my building, I can put a good word in for you!" He offered and (name) shook his head "I have decided to continue my residency with Ran" (name) said simply and the energy in the office plummeted as the men lowkey pouted but (name) didn't care "does this mean we can move your stuff to my place fully?' Ran grinned fully aware of what he's doing.
"Yes" (name) looked very unsettling as he walked into his office and Ran followed "you know you don't have to do that if you don't want to" Ran said softly and (name) was twitchy "it's fine" he said stiffly "is it?'
"I... I enjoy your company greatly... I don't want to be without it... Is it acceptable for me to continue?"
"Absolutely baby" he said kissing (name) softly and spoke "we can take your stuff out of storage... I have three extra rooms, we can put all you're cute stuff in there"
"Stuffed toys on the bed?"
"You can have five"
"Deal"

miscellaneous tag game
tagged by @searchingfortheuniverse! tysm i love these things <3
A band you don’t like that many others do: uhh i'm really not a hater and i genuinely do not have that strong of opinions about music and bands, so i really can't think of any right now
A childhood memory that you remember vividly: god i have so many vivid childhood memories it's hard to pick just one. my most vivid memories are probably the ones i have of playing with my twin when we were pretty little. they all tend to blend together, but i can still picture so clearly the castles we built out of soft blocks and the little lego people and toy cars we moved around them like dolls and the stories and scenarios we made up and acted out and the dragon costume in his closet he always tried to scare me with
Least favorite animal and why: insects probably, but only the really annoying little flying ones that buzz so relentlessly and never take the hint when you shoo them off. also whatever wretched little bug bit me in my sleep the other night
Hot fandom take: idk if this means like for a specific fandom or just fandom in general, but either way i don't really think i have any? then again i didn't think that that "steve harrington wasn't a bad person/boyfriend he was literally just 17" post i made a little while ago was a hot take either but apparently it was a little more reactive than i expected
Do you wear any jewelry, if so, what’s your favorite piece: i'm literally always wearing jewelry; i've got two hands full of rings that i basically never take off like ever, and it's rare to see me without earrings in and necklaces on. my favorite piece at the moment is probably my little silver bat necklace i got at an antique mall about a year ago
A movie others liked but you didn’t: guys i'm really not a hater. also i tend not to watch movies i just don't have the attention span tbh
Three things you love about yourself: my creativity, my perseverance, my sense of self-expression
A place you hope to visit in the future and why: everywhere, there's so much of the world i haven't seen. more realistically though, i hope to visit my twin in washington sometime this year, probably in the summer
An actor that gets on your nerves and why: again i'm. really not a hater. i tend to be utterly indifferent to like 95% of all celebrities, i just can't care about them enough for them to even be able get on my nerves
Things you’re excited for in the nearby future? there are a few alternative music club nights (emo, goth, metal) coming up over this next month and i'm very excited to dress up and go to those with friends!
Least favorite ship in a fandom you’re in: okay now i'm a hater. it's harringrove 😬
What’s the most toxic fandom you’ve been in? all fandoms are toxic if you venture far enough or have the misfortune of landing in the wrong corners of the internet, but i think my worst experiences have been in areas of the percy jackson fandom (in the mid 2010s especially; ik it's probably kicking up again now with a new wave of toxic fans but i am living in blissful ignorance of that discourse) and, in more recent years, the stranger things fandom (i've had to narrow my involvement down to basically only one specific ship fandom within it and even then only seek it out on tumblr; tiktok is rancid)
List three things you find beautiful about life: human connection, the art of words and stories, the joy of flowers in the spring after a particularly desolate winter
Any dreams for the future? just the typical stuff really: graduate university (i have one semester left that's insane), move out (for realsies, not just for school), and find myself a solid job and make myself a solid home and be able to be self-sufficient and successful and happy in this world. ideally i also dream of actually finishing and publishing a novel one day
How are you really feeling today? i have not had even three consecutive hours of sleep a night for the past week and it's making me feel just a little bit insane, and i'm a bit anxious about school and about meeting up with a newish friend tomorrow, but overall i actually feel pretty good. i finally feel like i've got real proper friends here in this city and i've been seeing them a lot lately, so that's been buoying an overarching sense of positivity despite my sleep deprivation and anxiety
tagging @turquoiseorchid and @rainbowteri if you feel like it! and if anyone else wants to do this too, consider yourselves tagged also; live your dreams, overshare on the internet 🫶🏻

Chapter 3; Engraved in One's Memories
Many days of training and living a new life had passed for Eve. She was asked by the director to meet with the science hall, and finding the lead scientist, Dr. Green. Eve is in front of a new hall, where everyone was wearing lab coats, and stepping to deeper halls or rooms. She turns to each door passing her, looking for a 'Dr. Green's' research room. She stops at the end of the hall and sees a relief of it being there. It was singled out with just a few other labs and storage.
Eve knocks but the door partly opens, with no response. She cracks it a small way and peers her head in to get a peak. "Good morning? I'm Eve, I was told to come here? Is there a Dr. Green around?"
A head pops from behind the other side of the door, beaming brightly. "Hello!" A woman greeted Eve excitedly. She opens the door fully and Eve gets a better look at the lab, and her. She held her golden hair in a floral wrap and a white lab coat over a pretty dress to match. She also had goggles on that covered her toxic green-looking eyes.
Eve steps in to see two other girls and a gentleman sitting at some counter, eyeing Eve curiously. The golden-haired woman clears her throat and opens a hand to shake Eve's. "Welcome to the science lab! I'm Dr. Green, lead scientist in the unit! Over there are my favorite little helpers!"
Dr. Green waves her hand over to three people by a workstation, presumably working on something till Green divides their attention to her. A man crosses his arms and scoffs. "We are scientists, not your typical customer service...."
Green brims her vibrant eyes with a cheeky smile. She bounces over to the man and pats him on his head, which he was much taller than her, so she had to go on the tips of her toes to reach. "But you're still my employees~. Everyone, meet Eve. She's new and here to show us some rare findings. Eve, let me introduce you to my team!"
Like waiting for her cue, a woman with purple hair and pale pink skin, jumps from off a counter space. She runs up to Eve and shakes her hand frantically up and down. "Hi, I'm Morax. Welcome newbie!"
The one man stays in place, not moving to where Eve was. He keeps an inquisitive eye on her however, and stays. Leaning his tall, lengthy body against the counter. "I'm Molaris, Molar, Micro, whatever name works. I'm the best assistant here, just saying..." He waves his hands up, defending himself.
The last woman, short with long and curly hair, sat on a stool beside Molaris. Her eyes were golden, like Eve's mentor, and her skin dark and sun-kissed. She even held a calming tone that made her eyes as direct as Yamehl's. "And I'm Viper. You can call me Cali, if you'd like. The agent names are not that necessary while in the precinct, just safer."
Dr. Green jumps between her assistants and the counterspace. She watches Eve get introduced and quickly interjects the reason why Eve was called there. "So, everyone, this is Eve Evanara, new in training. Eve has a few books and artifacts to share."
Green clasps her hands together and beams, excited to see what Eve had all brought with her. "Eve, what do you want to show us first?"
Eve places books and a bag of items onto the counter to show. She takes things out explaining them. "Well, I've read all through these books and know all the spells. I've got these stone dolls that become people-sized and able to control. I also made fire using normal chemicals, but that, and the spells I can use together. There's ingredients for a fire spell, at least a simple one. Making matters from thin air takes materials most times, unless very practiced, I think. I have found only a few rare plants and things for the spells that I have with me."
Eve jumbles between materials and organizes them into pairs. "Let's see. I can make... healing waters, fire, crystals, electricity, and maybe some other spells. And I've spent over half the time knowing of powers, learning from these books and practicing them for years."
Eve then tosses a stone statue on the ground, and in a poof of smoke, one stands tall, taller than most. It was completely still as Eve gestures at it and other materials. Green pokes at the dark grey, human-like figure. It was completely solid and a tad cold to the touch. It was smooth and voidless of any marks and details other than its shape.
Green was awestruck. "Wow! Incredible!"
Molaris flipped through a few pages but then cringed in confusion. His tone was less thrilled than Green's. "Uh, how did you learn to read all of these?"
Eve's gotten a bit more confident and practiced keeping certain details out. She knows between her real, and vague stories. "By settling in the more ancient parts and asking whoever to teach their modern language first, so you can ask more about the history and other languages. It took some years. I... found older dictionaries and ancient writings, b- but I didn't know if those would be important to keep, most were borrowed. I still have a few notes, actually. I can write what the text says- or I can teach you a spell now!"
After some time writing out on pieces of paper different writings in the books, Eve points out to words and translates to English the spell and some of the interesting parts. She ends on the page that had a fire starter spell. It was used whenever magicians needed a flame for something else, or the start of grasping fire magic.
Eve says out loud every ingredient listed and explains some of the special properties they had. She sets up a small test where she sparingly uses some of the ingredients for a fire spell.
In Eve's hands she holds out crystals and small, ash colored leaves. She takes a deep breath, already starting to focus. "When performing a spell that doesn't require text, you have to feel power drawn to you, and help control it..."
With that, sparks flew. A white sparkle floated up and around Eve. From the palm of her hands grew a bright blue flame. She clenched the tools in one hand and waved them closer to herself.
The flames circled around Eve, never burning her yet it was attached to her. She sets her hands down away from her in a flourish. The flames spin around her legs, making way down to her feet. It vanishes in a small circle on the floor around her.
Eve then continues to teach the group of S.O.U members. "Another thing is that I can help others use small forms of magic, even if they're not an ability-user. Just some small tricks. So, I can show you how to make a flame yourself too."
Molaris crossed his arms in protest. He gives Eve a bit of sass. "Uh, no thanks, I don't think starting with a fire trick is my thing."
Viper giggles in response. "Could be funny to watch. I'd blame you if we burn the lab down."
Eve looks between them curiously, and then smiles. She gets a new idea in mind to teach, if fire was going to be an issue. "How about a water spell?"
Morax lifts herself using a counter and blaringly shouts excited. "I could try that! Sounds easy!" She runs over to Eve. "Whatcha need?"
Eve flips the pages and grabs each tool, ensuring she has everything. She focuses on the spell as she speaks. "I could use a container of pure water for this. We're going to put something in the water for starters, then when I pass it to you. Try to 'hold' the water."
Morax looks at Eve, plain and confused. "Hold... water?"
Eve is given clean water and already submerges stones and crystals inside. She started to hover her hands over a glass container of water. It glowed slightly, her hands mostly glowing. She slowly brings her hands up and the water bubbles up and lifts out of the glass. Eve starts to wave her arms in circles around the forming ball, creating the water to be more spherical.
"What the heck?!" Morax shouts. Eve brings it closer to Morax and she freezes up. "Wha- what do I do?! You didn't read me the spell!"
Eve keeps her hands moving and getting closer. Morax just backs one step away from Eve's. Eve looked at her and tried to impose no threat. "Hehe, it's okay, it'll be simple. Hold your hands out away from you."
Morax did so, hesitantly. She held her arms out and they shook slightly nervously. Eve's calm and direct tone catches their attention. "Now, try mimicking my hands a bit, and we're going to make this bigger, creating more water with the spell."
They both move their hands around the water. It wasn't till Eve moved her hands back a ways that Morax was seeing herself doing it without the water spilling. Suddenly, the water was hovering in Morax's hands unnaturally, to her own movements. "No way! This is so cool!!"
Morax brings the water closer to her and tries to move it around more. She stretches the water across the room till it was gallons worth, but Eve was able to make it happen. Morax suddenly tries to tug the water in different directions. It touches her arm, immediately sending it all over her, and onto the floor. She was doused in cold water by accident and screamed. "Ah-!! Crap! What the heck?!"
Molaris holds his belly, hunched over from laughter. Viper just lightly chuckled at Morax. Morax was visibly upset. Eve just places a fist under her chin, pondering in thought. "You were too rough. You have to be delicate with water because of its unstable form. All spells still take practice and performing them a certain way. Since I'm a performer, I probably just picked it up quickly, heh." Eve casually jokes at the end.
Morax dramatically shouts in a screeching voice. "How come you didn't get wet?!"
Viper and Molaris, both now fail to keep in their laughter. Eve tapped a foot in a sopping wet puddle. She pushes up her sleeves and checks if the base of her jacket protected her. She was fairly dry, especially compared to Morax. "Hm. I didn't try to twist the water around like you did. It just drenched my feet because I held it safely away from me a bit."
Dr. Green jumps in front of Eve, turning her back away from Morax as she was more interested in the experiment. "Wow! What a very neat trick! This could be super useful. You'll have to teach us how to do it ourselves!"
Dr. Green beams at Eve, and Eve responds to her brightness with a kind smile. "With time, most certainly. It might take years however, just for one person to try to pick up. I don't think it's super easy, but it's possible."
It was possible, Eve did it, and then-some. Eve remembers her first time starting to learn spells. She did a lot of shared spells with her mentor. And, her fire spell was one of the more risky ones she tried to do by herself. She burned her hands, but Yamehl healed them quickly so there would be no scarring. It took Eve some time, practice, and a few more scorched fingers till she got the hang of it. Eve eventually got to the point where she could alter or perform a spell to her own will and the spell's will.
Eve was powerful, more than she knew with all that knowledge. Her desire to keep improving and curiosity of modifying spells made her bright for even her mentor's praise. Although she's new to teaching, Eve could start by transferring her powers to someone else. Just like how she started learning with her mentor. However much time, and effort put into learning from Eve, was based on the other's effort. Given, it would take a long time to learn, and others teaching it would take just as long, if not more. At least now she can see for herself through a trail-run with scientists, if they can pick up on it as Eve did from a little way back when.
________________________________________
Eve opens the door to her apartment that was located next to the special unit, Sameer was waiting at the door for her once he heard the doorknob move. Eve immediately smiles and is relieved to come home to her best friend there to greet her. Eve runs over to give her large furry friend a hug. "Hi Sam~! I've missed you!"
Sam makes his funny talking noises, like he was trying to tell Eve that he is happy to see her back. She brushes his fur before walking over to the kitchen, and setting her bag down on her island counter. "I'll get dinner going and we can start off the weekend to ourselves!" She said excitedly.
As Eve cooks, dancing to tunes while doing so, she finally unwinds. She was about to eat, till she was pardoned by a knock at the door. She goes to see who it was. Sam was right by her side, both slightly cautious.
Eve peaks, but immediately opens the door surprised. "... Hello again, Agent. What are you doing here?"
It had been around a week since the last sudden visit. It might have been becoming an ongoing thing for Eve to deal with. As much as it's been happening, she didn't want the agent popping in, and outside of her door so much. But, he was standing right there at the door, cold as ever.
Agent Grey just gives a tired and gloomy response. "Sorry to disturb you after staying late at the agency, but I've been meaning to talk to you again."
Eve raises a brow. She stands in front of her doorway, crossing her arms, and tilting her head curiously. "About?"
Agent Grey sighs, "Apologizing, for troubling you."
Eve straightens her shoulders and looks at Agent Grey slightly taken back. He was troubling her now, just being there. Grey's cold, but sometimes warm. It confused her. And, whatever his real feelings and intentions were, Eve had no clue of. She still acknowledges his apology. "Well, I understand. You were forced to...."
He shakes his head and again sighs. If anything, he also didn't know they had to work together, and had to see each other often. He would have done things a bit differently, if he knew all of that beforehand. "No, I was requested to, not by complete force. It's not all that bad I can promise that, but I know it'll take getting used to. I'm sorry however, for making you distrust us so much from the start."
Eve sees his point. However, the world Eve lived in was in her head, or in her magical world. She wanted to set things right, if they weren't, she was very vocal about it. She speaks her mind even now. "Well... They make it seem like powers are a problem. They could be good, evil, or however. Long, long ago the world took care of magic like any other problem or solution. Not with having to hide it."
Eve was right, of course, Agent Grey could admit. He nods his head in thought. "Yeah... I know we're not saints. I won't even say the unit is the best, but it's better than other federal agencies that could have found you."
Eve's face goes sour for a moment, and eyes wide in shock. She asks, at the jarring idea. "Why...?"
Grey, very matter-of-fact answers, with eyes serious and cold. "Over half of the government doesn't know about our society, shocking. They try to find people with shocking abilities, for their own reasons. If some other government agency would have found you the same way we did, you would have been dealing with a lot worse than this...."
Eve drops her shoulders, more relaxed, and lets her arms fall to her sides. She had her past worries come rushing back to her mind. Eve, of course, didn't want to become a human lab-rat.
Eve seemed lost in thought. Grey barges closer to Eve, taking the first step in her apartment now. His height made her suddenly move her head slightly up to keep eye contact. His brooding expression chiseled away.
The agent surprisingly smirks, and lax gleaming in his eyes. "I get that you want to keep some things natural. I get that you've seen people fine with powers and abilities. That's... wonderful, actually. It's something even I wish I could see for myself."
Agent Grey sees Eve's eyes suddenly go wide by his last statement. She was internally screaming at him, and physically pouting angrily. Agent Grey's eyes went a bit wider as well, and he waved his hands in protest. "Eh- I meant, I just want to visit and see how a place could function so well. It must be nice to get to experience some freedom too. I don't mean I'd use it for anything, okay? Calm, I can tell what you're thinking just from your expression." He pointed at her face, and slightly scowled.
Eve drops her glare, and sighs in relief. She didn't know if him, and the agency, were clear of being a threat to magic just yet. She agrees, after all. "Sorry, habit. As lovely as it is, that's why I want to protect it so much. It... It's the most liberating and freeing place I know. It's still under a heavy crown, an emperor and empress make most decisions for the whole city."
Eve mutters to herself before explaining more. "Luckily the empress actually cares for the people and their finances... The emperor isn't the best man, the one I might have stolen Sameer from. Their son's a jerk that happens to try to spar me with a sword every time we cross paths..."
"Uh... interesting." Grey reflects, and imagines what Eve must have been through to say that. He couldn't really picture it, also because it left a ridiculous image in his mind.
Eve continues, hoping to tell some better parts that made up for it. "But, all the town's people have been the highlight. Animals run free or are used to work, they're still better cared for than most. The spaces are cozy. You can hear all the chatter, smell all the fresh goods being made, see people hard at work or parading around the market places for fun. Maybe the parading was me... hehe. I would get to perform magic and music all the time in the streets. I could shine there, in the streets, or at the magic shop!" She excitedly beamed.
Grey can picture that a little better. He can see the town, and Eve, how she describes it. "That does sound like quite a beautiful place. I bet you were just as unique as you are now. And, overly-loyal to your master...."
Eve's head shook in dismay. She angry huffs, correcting Agent Grey. "Mentor! Me-n-tor!"
Grey smirks, finding Eve's reaction priceless. His toying, making Eve flustered. He almost couldn't act seriously. "Heh, same difference. He's a grand magician, a master of magic. Right? And, you didn't deny the loyalty part." He cocked his head still giving a confident grin.
Eve's cheeks grow warmer and she babbles flustered. "I didn't get to finish! He is also my good friend. So, I get excited when I think about magic, or 'Mehl. B- because, it's been nothing less than a wonderful in the past. It's definitely the reason I might seem loyal to him. S- so, that's why...." She trails off rambling.
Grey couldn't help but roll his eyes, but he tries not to chuckle at her. "Well, you can believe that all you want. I want to hear more about the town, as fun as your mentor sounds..."
A small silence afterwards left Eve to wonder, still flustered as the dead air between them didn't help with her nerves. Eve slowly speaks up. "I... could maybe show you more of the town and city streets with my memories. That's a better visual, right?"
Grey lifts one edge of his lips upward. He breathes out, a bit curious and concerned. "Heh, think you can control that again? You weren't the best at figuring out where your mind should have been, given the circumstances."
Eve nods. She was determined, but Grey's expression turned softer. "Are you really okay with this?" He insists. Eve nods again shortly and stretches her palms out towards him.
Agent Grey brushes his fingers to Eve's palm, and his eyes change. He looks at Eve as the mystic smoke hides his eyes. He speaks in a deep and serious tone. "Just think about the people, remember what the place looked like. You'll be able to control the memories more."

In a flash, it feels like Eve is back in Uridian, the mysterious small town she met her mentor in. She's walking around large crowds of people under tented balconies and colorful tarps. It was so bright and sunny, the cooling shade basked in all the market's goods. Eve walked closely to the food and produce vendors, one of her favorite pastimes was walking hungry around town. Her stomach's memories guided her steps.
Eve stops at a few shops to buy ingredients. She leaves and gets a glimpse of colorful smokes and a warm earthy scent. It's an older lady sitting on a corner with a small basket of interesting goods. Eve goes to her and the woman immediately grabs Eve's hand and places a wooden charm in her hands.
"Have some protection, dearie. You never know when you might run into some bad spirits." The lady said.
Eve thanks the woman and gives her change for the trinket. She wanders off to the steps by the woman, following a different path. Going up it's less crowded and buildings and bigger shops line the streets. There's restaurants and small cafes. People walk around perusing and socializing with loved ones. Eve looked around with a smile glued to her face in delight. She cradled a bag from the shops as she skips throughout the city.
A voice booms from behind Eve, stopping her in her tracks. "Oh! Why hello there, Miss Idol! Thought I'd run into you again, haha!"
Eve turns and sees someone in a red apron and uniform, with vibrant hair to match, wave and bounds up to her. She greets them, happy from the sudden surprise. "Oh, hello there Fable. Do you work around here?"
They wave frantically with a big, toothy smile. They cheered, then grabbed Eve's arm and lightly tugged her. "Yes! Care to come to my Ma's tavern and restaurant? I can cook or fix a drink for you. Come, take a break and sit for a while."
Eve wobbles a few steps and looks up at the pub's sign. It had its rustic charm with a barrel pouring liquid burned into the wood. Eve gains her balance as Fable lets go and they both stand in front of it. Fable's already going in and holding the door for Eve. She politely told, as she walked in. "I don't drink, but I could chat for a moment. I'm just taking some things back home to my mentor."
Fable knits their fingers in a tight fist. They looked to Eve with amazement in their eyes. "Oh~ Magical ingredients?"
Eve immediately giggles. She sets down her bag on a counter and turns her head to Fable. "Mostly dinner, but I got a few things we needed for the shop we were low on. Yamehl's busy, as always."
Eve holds up a jar of glowing orbs with violet translucent-looking leaves attached, they were a funny fruit called Star-Berries. She sets it down, and Fable pokes at the jar in wonder. They peep at small branches with many twisting limbs sticking out.
Fable's eyes light up, and they gasp. "Neeeat!! Can you show what they do? Pretty please? It's sooo cool when a person gets to see a magician at work." Fable was already vibrating in excitement.
Eve rolled up her sleeves. She slightly stretched her hands and neck. "I don't want to use the ingredients I just bought, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve... Mm, would you like some music?"
Eve closes her eyes and sways her arms around her in circles. She increases the movements, strides, then spins to and forth. Warm, sunny glimmers of light follow her as she spins around the tables and seats. The glow reflects the light from outside and the room is filled with an inviting presence to the barely occupied tavern.
Eve drops her hands and waves them around like conducting an orchestra. In return, soft chimes and whistling tunes met Eve's tempo. She harmonically breathed. "Lyra, Lyra. Grazioso...."
People start crowding into the small mixed bar and restaurant. Eve starts to sing an angelic melody. As her song comes to an end, Eve spins and reaches out to the window. The golden light leaves and gets carried up into the sky from outside. Some people clap for her and she bows, then walking to the window to stick her head out and marvel at the area. She sighs happily.
Eve looks back as she's still hanging out the window. "I should be off! Can't dilly-dally for too long, hehe. Bye everyone!" Eve waves enthusiastically and is out the door. She rushes back to the herbal shop, happily skipping with dinner, ingredients, and a cool new trinket from the market to show Yamehl.
.
.
.
Another vision occurs and Eve was in the middle of the square of the city. The beautiful garden and tree of life behind her as she passed through. People seem to be making way for her. As expected this is one of the times Eve's performing. She's in her element, playing a violin and lightly smacking the wood of the bow to the violin's body, making a beat. She's twirling around and skipping. Playing and sharing exchanges of glee and wonder with the bystanders. People are clapping, dancing, waving their arms, and cheering.
Eve waved her bow up, tip pointing to the sky and a swirling glow floated around and up into the air in a golden firework display. After, Eve keeps her motion going, continuing to play and sing down into the narrow streets. A crowd was following, with children and couples dancing around her and playing. Eve tries to skip and hop between people, most seeing her and making room. Some even joined the crowd following Eve deeper into the streets.
At the end of one of her songs, a small girl lightly grabs the hems of Eve's jacket. She turns and is looking down curiously. Eve's attention suddenly made the girl lose her words. She nervously said. "Um... Sorry, but are you the magician's helper?"
Eve nods excitedly. "Oh, yes, that's me! Did you need something?"
The girl passed a note over to Eve. She meekly spoke. "My grandmother's sick, she gets medicine from your shop. I'm on my way, b- but could I give you this note instead? For whenever you get back?"
Eve looks down at the note and takes it. She holds it up to the sun to read. "Medicine? I can take you to the shop! I think we might have this... I know we just got all the ingredients for it recently, for another order. Come, I'll take you and get you back to your grandma's house safely too."
The girl's features soften, a bit relieved. "Thank you... Are you sure you're not doing something?"
Eve held out her hand and waves to come along. She spins and swings a foot in the direction she just came, watching if the girl was going to follow. "I was just passing by, and passing the time. It's no trouble taking you to my mentor. He'll know how long it will take to have it ready."
She held her hands together and anxiously twisted her fingers. "T- thank you again... What's your name?"
Eve bows slightly and smiles. She then extended a hand out. "Eve, and you?"
The girl lighting grabbing her by Eve's jacket sleeve. She shyly followed behind Eve, finally introducing herself. "It's Lilian. My grandma is Miss Malar. She hasn't been able to get up to take care of herself. Me and Mama have been helping her."
Both Eve and Lilian walk to the medicine shop. Eve skipped and cheerfully gleamed. "How kind of you to help! I'm sure this medicine will get her on her feet in no time~!"

It felt like a flash of light turned everything to night. It was empty now but Eve was not alone. Her and her mentor were making their way out of the city. Eve looked up at the familiar, and quite beautiful, vast sky. The stars were endless in a Milky Way above her. It was a breathtaking sight even in the lit up town, the lights were so little compared to the ones up above. The vivid night sky was Eve's favorite sight.
Eve walked with a raised hood out of an alley. She had caught up to the streams at the town's edge, with her mentor by her side. When they both stand next to murky waters, Yamehl kneels down, and places his hands into the waters below. He motioned for Eve to do the same. She speaks up. "... This water isn't as clean as the river's."
Her mentor chuckled briefly. "It's not. The dirt and waste that comes from the streets get pushed into the water, making them unable to be drunk out of."
Yamehl's eyes glowed a golden ray and his hands started glowing as well but white. In the water, greyish-brown water disappears around his hands. He soothingly breathes. "It is our job to make sure the water doesn't float up the stream and contaminate the rest of the supply. It also helps it so not all the bad water is pushed into the seas."
Eve kneels down and concentrates down at her own hands in the fairly grotesque waters. She begins to glow all over as well as her hands. She couldn't see her eyes of course but even in memory, she knows now they're glowing blue. Especially at night, they gave off a golden glitter. The water quickly became clear around her, she swished her hands around to spread it around.
Yamehl looks over and smiles warmly at his apprentice. "That's excellent. Your light magic is amazing for this. Pure, like light, it helps the waters get cleansed."
Eve looked over her shoulder at her mentor inquisitively. "What do you usually do?"
Yamehl cleans the waters with his glowing hands as they talk. He responded as he reached further into the cold channel of water. "Go around until all this water flowing out looks clear again. Maybe in a month's time we'll have to do this again. Luckily, it hasn't been bad as of late."
Eve lays on the ground and dives her whole arms in. Her robe now drenched and sleeves soping. She playfully swished her arms around, disturbing the water's calm surface. She all at once kicked her feet out and cheered warmly. "Magic... is so beautiful! The ability to do this is remarkable. I- I wish more places did this! Clean water, give life back, cure diseases, so forth."
Yamehl takes a hand from out of the water and flicks it dry with some heat magic. He then takes his clean, dry hand to rub the top of Eve's head gently. "Heh, I hope so too. May the stars one day grant it... I'm grateful they at least gave me an apprentice that thinks the same. By the next generation, I hope they too get to meet someone like you."
.
.
.
Eve is inside of the large palace. Her, Yamehl, and many other guests dressed fancy, crowded under pillars and a tall, dome ceiling. It was very colorful and vibrant, flowers, streamers, and people littered the place with sights.
Eve and her mentor wore similar suits, but hers was light, and his was a dark attire with many charms on him. Eve sees some color ribbon fly by her face. She looks up to see people, delicately twirling and wrapping themselves in fabric above the heads of the party goers. Eve grabs her mentor's jacket and points up above. "Yamehl? What's that?! Oh my stars!! It looks so fun!!"
Her mentor looks at Eve, and eyes upward at the display. Yamehl smiled back at Eve's wonder, answering. "Their silk dancers and traipse artists. They use ribbons and cabling tied to the ceiling to do all their tricks."
Eve clasped her hands together, holding tightly, as if having to stop herself from running off to look at the sights. She jumps from one side of her mentor to another, looking around. It was the most elegant party she's ever seen. The one usually making wonders and entertaining people, was amazed herself.
"It's a party fit for royalty." A booming voice joins in from behind Eve. Turning around to meet them, unexpectedly, the emperor stood.
Eve's smile immediately drops, her mouth now agape. She stopped herself, and tried to act calm. "Oh- your highness, good evening."
Eve bows, and keeps her head down for a moment, so she can see Yamehl bowing as well. They both look up and the emperor officially welcomes them. "Hello Shaman, and my humble guests. Are you enjoying the party?" He grins confidently, much as one with his power would have.
Eve answers, not meeting his eye, but trying to sound pleasant. "It's been a beautiful sight. Thank you for having us..."
He chuckles with a sick notion. "Would you care to see more? I have a beautiful collection of pets in the other ballroom, a gallery of all the gems in the world, and every room is filled with entertainment for tonight. Come with me, I bet you could muster the courage to see some of even the wildest of beasts."
For a moment, it strikes Eve eerily making her feel like something wasn't right. But, she didn't know if she could say 'no' to a man like him. "S- sure, your highness. Lead the way...."
The emperor leads them to another room, with large doors guarded by heavy tall doors. He waved and opened the door to usher both Eve and Yamehl into his special room. Immediately something struck Eve as unnerving. Cages were everywhere, birds out and flying around, or in smaller cages as well.
The emperor brandished the room by pointing his hand around. "Have a look, almost every animal and different species in one roof. The largest elephant, to the most colorful of birds! The softest, to the most ferocious types!" He goes deeper into the room, stopping at one cage in particular. "Take a look at my newest to my collection, a rare white tiger!"
The tiger laid there in its cage, looking tired. Its shackles slacked, not having been eager to lash out or try to escape. The emperor looks at it and grumbles. He grabs a whip from the wall and opens the cage, about to strike the tiger. "C'mon, get up already!..."
Eve flinched by the slight of the whip. She couldn't think but reacted. She ran up and tried to intervene. Eve grabbed the emperor by his hand that was about to strike the tiger with the whip. He batted her away with a fist. She fell over on the ground by the no-so vicious tiger. "What on earth are you doing?!"
Eve gets up on one knee and throws down a fire capsule tucked away in her pocket. She stomped a foot between the emperor and the tiger, with only her being lit in flames. She waved her hands out and obscured his path in a fiery blockade. "STOP!!" Eve threatened to get closer. Her voice broke as she screamed in anguish. "DON'T HURT IT!!"
The emperor retreated back slightly. He spat with venom building in his veins. "It's a killer tiger! Don't stand so close to it, you naive girl! I'll have you and it rotting in the dungeons! GUARDS!!"
Eve extinguished the flames and rushed over to the worn, newly encountered tiger. It looked at her, their eyes sad, calling out for help. She used an ice crystal and broke the chains on the shackles of the tiger. The tiger suddenly leapt over her and now was guarding Eve.
"Eve, quick!! This way!!" Her mentor shouted from next to an open balcony. A way outside, a way out. Eve rushes the tiger and herself over to her mentor. She stares as the ground below had people under her, she couldn't leap away. Looking behind at the guards now chasing her. She pans around for a way out.
The tiger nudges Eve's side, pointing with his head to her, then his back. He was signaling for her to hold onto him. Eve wasn't quite sure but she saw the tiger arching back and ready to leap. She jumps on carefully, trying not to hurt them. The tiger takes a slow first step, but then charges and leaps up over the railing, just missing swords of some guards by a second.
People look above at the soaring tiger in shock and gasps. Eve helps by making them lighter by using her powers, and they start to glow and glide away. They ascend far enough and safely back onto the ground. They continue to run through the streets and Eve looks as the sights of the city slowly lessen, till it was out of sight in what seemed like minutes. All that's left is a sparkling white trail coming from both of them.
Eve lets out a small whimper and continues to ride on the tigers back. "Yamehl... I didn't say goodbye... I promise, I'll contact you as soon as we're safe."
She taps the tiger and he slowed, looking up at her. She hopped off and walked beside him, now safe enough from being followed. She lightly brushed the tiger's dirty fur. "Poor thing... You don't deserve a jerk like that ruler. I'll help you find your home. Or, at least somewhere better than in the palace...."
.
.
.
Eve feels the sudden change and she is back in the present. She's not sick like the last time, but spaced out somewhere else. Sameer comes up, but Eve doesn't look down. Sam brushes Eve worried, and she snaps out of her trance. Eve pets her tiger companion softly.
Grey watches with a puzzled look. He looks at Sam. Sameer looks at him curiously. "That's how you found... him? At a party?"
It was, and the beginning of their inseparable bond. The beginning might have lasted for many days and nights, till they found a port in a completely different city. Along that, she learned over talking to Sam that he would nod or shake his head to 'yes' and 'no' questions. She started to understand, Sameer was very unique. She didn't know if the emperor knew of it, or if he was just interested in the rare colored fur.
Eve nods. "Yes, and Sam ended up staying with me! My mentor also told me that there were wanted posters of me. Just because I saved an animal from cruelty. I'm sure that broke the heart's of the people living there to see...." She looks down at her tiger friend, saddened herself.
Her honesty, and her memories, made Grey feel like he's already seen what the town's like. With Eve's last memory, he sees its cons to being there. Even Grey felt Eve's fear when the emperor showed up. "I see. Well, so it has its perks. Also its downsides, like anywhere else."
Eve beams at Grey, delighted to hear his understanding. "Correct. It still holds a dear place in my hear. I love Uri- ahem, the town. It's a funny name heh... You know it better as 'The Town' that I love so much, haha~." She nervously laughed.
Eve awkwardly brushed off her slip up. She gets a bit vulnerable for a moment, and Grey just takes advantage of the situation to tease. "Hm... You sure you just don't 'love' the magic shop and your mentor more? Seems like all your memories are strongest about it."
Eve's face dropped as she processed. For a moment looking dumbfounded, then wide and flustered. "Ye- yes! It's everything, not just one thing! I just spent most of my time in the shop, and with 'Mehl. It's just that, and my amazement from magic, that resonates so strongly with me..."
There was hesitation in Eve's voice denying it. Grey raises a brow. He lets out an unamused, "Mhmm....", not buying it.
Eve feels like she can't lie to Agent Grey. She couldn't just brush his toying of the subject off any longer. "I'll just say... I love the town and... my mentor, he's.... He's... sort of... technically-my-first-love-. I've-never-dated-a-person-and-I-didn't-want-to-ruin-our-frien-!!" She breaks, rambling and admitting to everything, like a child confessing to a bad deed.
Agent Grey starts to wave his hands to stop her, then grabs Eve to finally shut her up. "Okay! OKAY!! Stop, I get it. It's fine. I was just teasing you. Sorry for pushing too much. Just. Breathe. Alright?"
He lets go and huffs. Eve tries to inhale a deep breath. She pardons herself, still a bit flustered. "S- sorry... I got carried away. I'm not used to having a crush, or talking about it. My memories might just be me reliving my pipe-dreams... Just thinking of all the adventures we'd have together...."
If Grey was wrong to assume, Eve was doubting herself just then. He might have not been able to translate her speedy response at first, but he started to understand. "Pipe-dreams are different from reality. You really like him, and I think he likes you back."
Eve's eyes flash wide. She blinks and tries to make Grey explain. "... You know what he's thinking?... Without knowing or using your power on him?"
Grey huffs and rolls his eyes. He then makes vague quotations with his hands for Eve to understand. "He said, 'don't forget me', 'I'll protect you', 'I am grateful to have you', 'you're my precious little apprentice' I've just taken in randomly, same bloody age as me! You two are both oblivious...". It might've not been accurate but he did bring up a fair point.
Eve tries to excuse Grey's assumptions. Eve thinks she knows more, of course, but her feelings say otherwise. She sighs and looks down. "He's 32... Regardless... I was just worried he meant it because I'm the only one that understood him too. It might have just been a like-minded admiration...."
Grey's brow was getting a workout from doubting Eve so much. She wasn't the best liar, even to herself. It all just came out as excuses. He exhales, sounding judgmental, but only to keep teasing her. "Yeah... Does he always play with your hair then?"
Eve waves her arm in a childish protest. She corrects him, without taking time to think first. "He gives me head pats when I do a good job!"
Grey rolls his eyes and momentarily shakes his head. "Okaaay... Still weird." He let out a loud sigh, mentally taking a moment to backtrack. He was surprisingly getting serious again, and the brooding look was back. It wasn't his intent to ask about Eve's love life, or lack of one. It might have gotten off track, since the originally avoided topic was eventually brought up.
Eve had been talking about her mentor so much. Grey also might have messed with her a few too many times. It felt inevitable, but now was not the time. He groans annoyed. "My god, the point of coming here wasn't to interrogate you... I'll leave you be now. I'm sorry for over-staying..."
Eve turns back to her new living place. She takes glances at Grey as he turns away to exit, then the kitchen for a moment. "Hm... I just made dinner, but there's plenty to spare, if you'd like to sit and eat something."
Grey turns, and waves a hand, solemnly opposing. "You've already shown enough hospitality to me. I owe you plenty already."
"You can put it on your tab, if you have one, hehe." Eve pats a seat and skootches the chair out. She skips to go get a fresh plate with whatever was leftover. Grey hesitantly walks over and sits down. Eve also forks a bit of her own plate onto his and serves it. She sits back and smiles, then digging back into her meal she almost forgotten she's made.
Grey takes a moment to wonder if at any point he said 'no' to Eve. He didn't directly, as he maybe should have. He looks down and tries not to look a bit overwhelmed. They talk for a moment, and his stubbornness subsides. It seemed like they were able to be more casual between the two future partners.
"So..." Agent Grey paused, raising the question. "... You never had a crush growing up?"
Eve almost chokes, and eyes go wide as spheres. She confesses, wiping her face and hiding her face in a napkin. "... Not since I started my internet-tainment career, as silly as that was when I was young. I took it very seriously! I was too focused on music and school. Then, after discovering my powers, it became difficult to let people in fully. Even though I was trying to put myself and knowledge out there...."
Grey waves a fork at Eve, perplexing at the situation. For someone so bubbly and out there, the one thing she didn't think about, even when writing about it, was love. It was hard for him to see her so lonely actually, for someone so compassionate for people. "And, your mentor is your only crush, that you've kept hushed for... how long?"
Eve looks away blushing. Her voice goes a bit quieter, embarrassed to admit. "... Since the first three, to almost four years living there...."
That meant it had been almost a decade since Eve had her first crush, and on her mentor. Grey held a fist to his lips, suddenly looking very deep in thought. In reality, he wasn't sure he was slightly to pity her or to laugh. He felt like both at once and was trying to hold it all back.
Eve brushes away her love woes, and Grey's gaze. She opened up about her own trust issues. "Mm, I just surprisingly don't have many close to me. Yamehl was really the first for that, maybe the second. My designer, Rin, had been like an older sibling, even though they travel a lot for work. And, Sam has been the magical companion that's been by my side now. I only have a few beside me, and they're like family." On cue, Sameer brushes up against her, and Eve petted him as she sat at the dining table.
Agent Grey sighs into a bite of food, out of his own pity. "Still, it must be nice. I could say the agency is like family, but it's quite the headache to deal with sometimes. Everyone calls me the angry old man... Don't you dare start either."He eyes her, warning.
Eve joked in a cocky tone. "Psh, yet I'm going to have to be your partner someday? What do you even do now?"
Grey was actually a top notch agent, but he's a lone authoritative figure. Not every agent needs a partner, but one with his experience should, and just as high ranked. Grey still defends himself. "I'm still work as I've normally done. I just haven't needed a partner for a while... Listen, if we're entrusting each other with information, I might as well tell you a secret, this time."
The mood suddenly got serious. Eve nods, willing to hear him out. Grey doesn't look at her. Instead, his glaze paused on the floor for a moment, till he tried to look coolly. "When I first started as an agent, I had a partner. He... 'was' my best friend. We were in the academy together, and in boarding school. We both developed a bond that made us a really great team. Till...."
The room remained silent as Agent Grey wore an unreadable expression. His mouth was ajar, unable to let out anything. He purses his lips, after failing to speak. He breathes a more calm and somber tone. "... One day, we were on a mission that killed him from a rogue explosion. Along with several other casualties... We were a couple years into our partnership. After being discharged for a moment, I requested not to have a partner for my missions. After almost a decade, they finally tried to get me to work with someone else, but I would refuse."
Eve's expression was soft and sincere. She understands the heartbreak that mourning has. "I'm... really sorry. I know it's never a good feeling to have someone you care about greatly pass on. I'm so sorry they were killed."
Grey sighs and leans on his chair. He felt crappy but better, now that he's told Eve. "It's fine now. I trust I can tell you this, as a warning just in case something happens in the future. I might still get hot-tempered and freak out, but I'll try not to."
The idea of being Grey's partner was ridiculous, but started to make more sense. At least to why he hadn't had a partner already. Eve just didn't know why she was chosen, but just went with it now. "Heh, but hey, at least you know you get angry. You worry about something happening again. As much as I'm certain yelling solves, you have your way of showing concern."
Grey eats and nods as he looks down. "Hmph, exactly. It's not like anyone wants to be in a situation like that, let alone have it happen again. It's a risky job, yes, but we still don't have agents keeling over dying left and right. It was shocking for the whole unit to hear... Getting shot is most of our worries and we wear protection just as any other officer, sometimes more. We even have the best medicines and a healer. But, new topics now... Thank you, again, for a nice meal. I wanted to apologize again, and possibly invite you to explore a few places outside that are safe for S.O.U. members. I could show you some spots that are reserved to freely use their powers in. They're more closed off from onlookers outside."
Eve pouts, tilting her head and looking at the agent inquisitively. She rephrased the remark, just to be certain. "There's places... I can use magic in?"
Grey sternly agrees and sighs. "Yes. Magic, powers, whatever the hell to call them. You can talk amongst users, along with using abilities in a safe environment, outside of here and the unit. As long as you don't do anything dangerous, of course. Another thing about powers and using them outside, that privilege can get revoked if you break important rules."
Eve ushered for him to continue. "Which are?"
Grey points at Eve, assuming she'll need to really listen. "No harming bystanders, or exposing abilities to 'non-users'."
Eve flashes a smile, carefree. "Easy enough. And, I'll stop showing off magic, so yeah."
Grey nods lightly and turns his gaze away. "Good... If you want, we can also stop by a bakery not far from here. I could pay you back for a meal with something... sweet maybe?"
Eve's eyes lit up. Even though they're already eating, Grey's got her attention. She brings up a question. "Is the bakery a secret agent spot?"
Grey chuckles in response, but then drops back to serious. "No... but there's one across the street from it. It's by the park, so there's lots of things one can do while going out."
Eve's eyes keep sparkling. She was in the middle of eating, but even left the fork on her mouth. She gleefully screamed, attempting to finish what was in her mouth, and then uttering. "Oooh yes!! I love parks!! Can Sam come? I know a way to cloak him, if we can take him along too!"
Agent Grey exhales questionably. He shakes his head. As if the idea couldn't possibly work, and Eve just spoke nonsense to him. "Uh... I really don't know about bringing a large tiger around a bunch of people...."
Eve disputes, explaining to hopefully convince him. "I've done it lots before, no one screamed or ran away~ The thing about a cloaking spell, people still see you but it's as if you're just part of a background. If they try to look at you, they suddenly lose focus and see past you. They then forget or move on. Like when you think you saw something strange, but it's immediately gone in an instant to tell. They work on people and animals too."
Grey provokes Eve with more questions. He wanted to know most of the spell, since there could be rules and circumstances along with them. "Well, how long does it last, and does it affect everyone the same way?"
Eve shakes her head and explains. "It lasts a while, then fades, and no, not exactly. There's a level to how well the spell works, based on the person. Someone might be smart enough to see through it. I can also physically try to grab your attention so the spell is impossible to combat. Sam and I, I think, have a contradiction to the rule, because we're constantly together when we go out. If either of us runs off, we can still see each other."
Grey almost wavers the thought, but declines. "If there's a chance of getting caught, I wouldn't abide by it. That explains some things though... Reports have mentioned, well, how you were only discovered quite recently. And the tiger was only seen in videos. They didn't think much of someone making videos since they can easily be altered. Not until they sent an agent to check some suspicions, when you were doing a performance outside."
Eve now knows the point of her magic-downfall. A blessing and curse to show the world its hidden wonders. She was only trying to open the world's eyes for something greater. "Hm. Yes, well some of my true fans know I can do some magical things. They don't know how to explain it themselves, since I'm so obscure and quirky about relieving it. I sometimes say it's a 'magic trick', in which it's true but no one understands it means literal magic these days. It's old knowledge, but still all around us."
Grey leans his head to the side on a propped fist, with his elbow on the table. He shrugs and no nods to Eve's statements, and waves his hand as he responds. "Fair said, I understand how it's like universal coding, like natural law. We definitely are steering away from the old and natural. Probably an issue to why not many people understand this. Besides the ones that have been living in places fairly uncharted from the rest of the world. It's... still new and kind of risky for someone who's never seen this stuff before."
Grey looks up at Eve in a serious brow-raise. He was a man of not liking risk. However, she was a risk-seeker, and tries to find answers whenever she had questions. It did spell well for the two.
Eve tried to prove a point that the agency, and Grey, were missing. Her voice was a bit saddened by her own words. "Humans are just a small fraction yet we hold such a hierarchy over us, don't we? Humans have taken a lot of the reins here, sadly. The world cannot be ranked of its creatures but be seen as a whole system working together. Really, it's the universe that's just one system, but I digress. It's not something unnatural, or even foreign. It's just the basis of life itself."
Grey looks into Eve's eyes with a bit of sorrow. He abruptly warned. "You're definitely not wrong about some things. You understand a lot more than most do. You know more about powers than some of the top directors and influentials out there. You may find things you don't agree with, having to be in a new system. So, try to keep calm and find the best solution. It's a lot to ask of you, when you're not even out of training yet, but try to be safe."
Eve agrees with a soft smile. "I'll try. I really don't like combat though, I'd gladly ace the written test proportions."
Grey remarked. "Hm, but you're not that bad in combat either. Maybe a bit snappy at test takers, but you scored above average. You could have done a lot more, but I assume it was overwhelming at first."
Eve rolls her eyes. She speaks with a slight annoyance as she complains. "You have to know everything about me?"
Grey looks occupied as he forks his plate, and coldy acknowledges. "Basically. I'm still monitoring you, in case something happens, or you do something the board doesn't like. They want to make sure you can be trusted too. It's a whole system of everyone needing to gain one's trust."
Eve finishes her meal. She goes to kneel beside Sameer and plays with his fur. "What do you even on your time off?" She chuckled, wondering if he does anything but work. Which was an unlikely assumption.
Agent Grey ran a hand through his hair and composedly listed his to-do's. "Mostly working even on breaks, working out, and training. I'll still keep up with more of my daily tasks around the apartment." He bored out, as 'fun' as it sounded.
Eve leans on her counter and charismatically idols. "Sounds like you need a day out too. Need a refresher from your cycle once and awhile."
Unable to unwind himself, Grey just defeatedly gives in. "I do. Ugh, never mind... Fine, let's go out tomorrow. We'll all go." He suddenly looks at Sam, insinuating for him to join as well.
Eve jumped up and cheered. Sameer even smiles with his lips curved upwards. Grey just sighs and puts a hand to his face. "I'm going to regret this..."
At least things have subside between the two future partners. What will happen when they're actually paired? And, how were Eve and Sameer going to gang up on Grey on their outing together? Everyone seemed at least a little nervous about how some things are going to go.

Fall of the sky
Tumblr media
Todoroki Shoto x Reader
Genre: Romance I guess?
Warnings: Angst, Implied smut, fluff? (There will be smut eventually)
Word count: 2500+
Summary:
Ah Arkridge city of laughter and full of rich, cocky assholes. Oh, and me, my name is (Y/N) and this is my story about the fall of the sky. It’s 2034 and the government declares the ground below us is inhabitable, broken, and destroyed. So people build a city, a sanctuary for the human race to keep on living. Although the one thing they chose to do wasn’t to send us to space no, it was to build a city. No normal city though, it flew. Like a plane, but looked way more magical than the human mind could ever imagine. Towering buildings and cute little homes waiting to be inhabited. Although there was a dark side to this solution, poor people were rarely seen on this island, but why may you ask? That will play a big part in my story and how I made the sky fall. I am (y/n) (l/n) and this is my story on how I made the sky fall.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wake up to the sound of my alarm going off. I hit it so it turns off, the robotic voice speaks through the speaking. “Miss (y/n), it's time to get up and ready for the ball” you shot your head up and your hair goes all over your face. You huff pushing it out of your face. “Wait, that's today?” you question cocking your head to the side. “August 29th 3093” You smile“You have an appointment with the hairdressers and makeup artist today. Should I message them and say you're still coming?” the robotic voice questions. You shove the blankets off you and get up to start dancing and jumping around. “Uhm miss your heart rate has gone up substantially in the past few seconds is their reason to call an ambulance?” she asks and you stop your movements and laugh. “Oh sorry Nebula, I'm fine and yes I will still be at both of those appointments.” You straighten yourself out, you still have a stupid smile on your face but who can blame you? You were going to see Bakugou today at the ball. The love of your life was going to be there and you couldn't be anymore happier.
You walk into your bathroom and see how messed up your hair is spread out all over the place. Your eyes widen and you grab your brush quickly taking the knots out of your hair and brushing it down. You walk out of the bathroom and quickly get dressed into a tank top and some sweats. You hear the door downstairs open and close. You walk out of the room to see who has just come in. Looking over the railing to see Bakugou. “Babe!” You shout and run down the stairs almost falling as you do so. You wrap your arms around him pulling away only to kiss him. “Morning babe,” He says in his gruff voice. “You're coming tonight right?” you ask pulling away as you do so. “Wouldn't miss it for the world Babe” You untangle from him and make your way to the kitchen. “Did you eat before you came here, Suki?” You say to him. “Yeah I did but I want something else to eat” He smirks and traps you between the counters. He kisses you harshly and you pull away. “Babe, I already told you it's too early for us to be doing that stuff” You shrug and try to weave between his arms. “But baby~ We’ve been dating for so long, three months I think?” He thinks about it.
You steal a surprise kiss from him. “Yeah, I guess we've been dating for a while but I just want to make sure I lose it too,” You say turning around and opening your fridge grabbing some milk. He sighs “If I wasn’t the one I would’ve left long ago” He grumbles while you fetch some cereal pouring it in the bowl. You grab the milk and sit down eating your cereal. “Look, I know you're not happy about this situation, but I'm not ready and you said you’d respect that,” you say mouth half full of cereal. He makes his way towards you and takes a seat next to you. “Plus I already offered to please you but you weren’t interested so I don’t know what you want.” You shrug and eat more cereal. He comes close to your ear and whispers, “I want you bent overlooking all prett-” You start laughing “Me, bent over, for you?” You point your spoon at yourself. “God Bakugou, you are one horny bastard.” You finish your cereal and drink the milk. You put the bowl back down. Milk dripping from your mouth, he brings up his thumb to your mouth wiping it. You stare at him with wide eyes and feel your face get hot. Blush attacking your face and you get up rushing over to the sink turning the water on rinsing the bowl out. “Bakugou when I can trust you fully and know you want to be with me for real and not just because of my body, then we can do whatever you want. But I’m just not ready.” You sigh “So I have an appointment in about an hour so if you're still here while I’m at my appointment. Could you lock the door before you leave thanks, babe.” You say as you rush out of the house and into your car. You start it and back out of the driveway. Making your way to the hairdressers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You arrive at the hairdressers and get out of your car. Grabbing your keys from your pocket you lock the doors. You walk up to the familiar doors of the hair business. You open the doors and walk up to the receptionist's desk and your hairdresser comes up. “Oh hey (y/n) just take a seat over there and I'll be with you in a second.” She smiles softly and you smile back. Walking over to the seat she pointed to. You saw her disappear into the back but to return with some new shampoo and towels. She walks over to your seat and props the items she was holding up on a shelf and grabs a cover to put around you. “So are you excited for the ball tonight? I heard it's the biggest one the city has thrown.” She smiles brightly “Of course! When have you ever seen me not at a ball” You smile back and she begins to do your hair giving it a trim before asking what you want to be done. “I was kind of thinking like a bun and then some braids around it? Will I have enough hair” You laugh and she nods fiddling with your hair. “Girl, you have hair for days I don't know what you mean” She giggles softly at your comment. She starts doing your hair wetting it slightly. “So I heard that some prince is going to be there. He's supposedly looking for a wife” You frown at the comment. “Yeah I heard about that, but you know already I have Bakugou. Plus it's not like I could catch a prince's attention” You sigh realizing Bakugou isn’t gonna let you around any other man this evening. “Yeah I know but you're so beautiful if anybody could do it, it would be you (y/n).” You laugh at her comment and shake your head slightly. “Me, no, how about you? You’re so pretty any guy would be lucky to have you.” You smile at her.
“Ok! How does that look?” She asked as she finished my hair. “Great! Also, could you maybe do my makeup here I don’t want to drive across town” You pout and bring out your phone canceling the appointment? “Yeah, sure what kind of look are you going for?” You think back to your dress and it's a deep blue with white stars all along with it. “Hm, so it should match my dress so how about a navy blue look with little specks of white glitter” You suggest and she nods going into the back room. She comes back with some makeup and brushes. She starts doing your makeup and before long it's done. You open your eyes and smile. “Wow, it looks amazing, thank you” You get up from the chair and grab your purse. You hold your wrist out and she scans it. “Have a great day don’t forget to book an appointment a week before you plan on coming.” She smiles and bows as you walk out of the shop. You check the time on your phone and realize you only have two hours to get ready.
You quickly drive home and when you arrive you check the time. “Damn I only have an hour and a half to get ready.” You sigh rushing into the house and unlocking it signaling that Bakugou had left, probably to get ready as well. You quickly run up the stairs to see the beautiful gown is displayed on the mannequin you had in the room.
It was a deep ocean blue that faded into a white on the bottom. It had started displayed all across it and on the top part it curved down right above your belly button. Covering just the right amount of breast but enough to show off how nice they looked. Bakugou wouldn’t be happy as the back was very flashy as well. You quickly put on the big dress and it took a while. You fix your hair and right after you're done you hear someone honk outside your house. Must be the limo you thought. You grab the black heels you were going to wear for the night and rush down the stairs. You leave your house and see the limo. You lock the doors and rush to the limo jumping inside making sure to grab all of your dress and not to get it caught in the door of the car. You realized you forgot your mask at home but remembered it was around your neck. You slipped it one when putting on the dress.
After about half an hour of driving, you ended up arriving at a big castle-like mansion. “Thanks!” You say to the driver and hop out of the car putting your mask on. You make your way to the entrance and flashes start going off. People were taking pictures of you so you started to pose. After a few minutes, you walk into the big palace and see everyone either talking or dancing. Some people looked up at you while some ignored you. You saw someone with green flowy hair offer a hand out to you. You take it and smile walking down the stairs with him. Bakugou wouldn’t be too mad right? It's just one dance. He places his hand in yours and one on your waist. You both started dancing to the instrumental music playing. “I haven’t seen you around here before, are you now?” You had curiosity getting the better of you. “Wouldn’t you like to know Doll.” He smirks at you and spins you around. “Yes I guess you could say that I’m new” He spins you around again and stops you bringing you close to his face. But before he can kiss you someone pulls you away from him bringing you to his chest. The scent was familiar, it was Bakugou. “Move along extra she's mine” You hear him say to the green-haired boy. “Calm down man we were just dancing” The green boy raised his hands like he was innocent. “Yeah what dancing do you mean because I think you mean you trying to get your lips to dance across hers” He groans and pulls you away with him to the center of the ballroom. He grabs your waist and starts dancing. You look into his crimson red eyes and smile blushing softly. “I’m sorry baby he offered to dance I di-” He cuts you off with a kiss and you pull back blushing even harder. “Uhm can we go get some fresh air.” He nods wrapping his arm around your waist. You make your way to the garden where you could see the edge of the city. You both walk around the garden and soon make it to the edge where you look down and see clouds. “Bakugou, I have something to tell you.” You fiddle with your fingers and look up at him. “I don’t think this is going to work out-” He groans and starts laughing. “Fuck- I’m so glad now I can get rid of you” He has an evil grin on his face. “Wh-what do you mean Bakugou?” Your eyes widen as you step away from the edge but he grabs you. “God, do you know how hard it is for me to be around you all the time. ‘Bakubaby’ really come up with something less annoying please” He rolls his eyes and tears prick your eyes. “I just wanted to hit it with the dip” He starts laughing and you struggle to get out of his grip. He brings your body closer to the edge of the city. “God, I've been wanting to do this for so long, a quick and easy way out and if people come looking for you I can just say you fell off the edge. Even better I can say it right after I throw you off. I’ll start crying and hyperventilating screaming. Saying ‘oh shit she fell’” He started imitating what he’ll do once you're plummeting to your death. “Please- no- don't please” You plead with him. He lightens his grip on you but just as you thought you got through to him he throws you off and you scream.
And there you were, falling. Watching what it felt like slow-mo. He had a devilish smile on his face and you had tears running down your face. You felt the wind flow through your hair and your dress move all around. It was kind of peaceful if you think about it. The sun was setting letting a pink tint fall onto them. But in reality, this was the scariest moment in your life “Fuck” You say right before you fall into some trees and blackout.
(Next chapter sneak peek)
You open your eyes slightly surrounded by trees. You see a blurry figure hovering over you. Hair tinted white and red “You lucky son of a bitch” He says in shock as you get picked up. You moan and he looks down at you while he's carrying you. “I know it hurts but I’ll make it go away” and with that, you close your eyes.
An: This is my first time writing in like two years so if it's not up to your standards I'm sorry. But if you wanna be tagged in the next part then comment! Also if you have some suggestions on how I can improve please tell me I'm always open to criticism

A LunaTic and her Gunn (Part 103 1xs2) "Pride"

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I don't know, Doll." Stephanie answers Luna. "I ran into you in the lobby at The Grand... You were already shitwrecked." She laughs.
"I'm telling you, it was Kings Cup." Sam says leaning up from her seat.
"I hate that fucking game." Luna rolls her eyes as she slumps into hers.
"Enh.... Take a nap and get over it, Smith. We got big plans when we get home, Baby!" Stephanie grins at her as she hands her a joint.
Luna accepts it as her mind begins to wander over The Pride Parade, Colson, the people she needs to see and the things she needs to pick up while she's home. It's gonna be a long 36hrs.
--------------------------------------------------
"I want you motherfuckers to make some MOTHERFUCKEN' NOISE!!!" Slim shouts to the crowded nightclub.
They're playing The Pearl Club tonight inside The Palms. Halfway through their set and The Boys are in rare form. Pulling people OnStage just to chuck them back off into the willing sea of hands waiting below.
Colson replaces Bad Things with Bulls on Parade. Hyping himself and the audience up even more. Spraying water all over them as he jumps and dives off the stage whenever he's not dancing around on it.
Ashleigh notices he gets a little flirtatious during Candy. Talking about how He likes to be called Daddy, Yeah. Rolling her eyes, she goes to look for Don. Tomorrow's their last show of this leg and she wants to touch base with him before they head to LA.
--------------------------------------------------
Back in NYC, Stephanie, Luna and Sam share another TownCar. Privately leaving LaGuardia without notice or interruption to Luna's relief. Stephanie is dropped off first at her penthouse in Manhattan. The TownCar then traveling down into Washington Heights to Sam's, the difference in neighborhoods being beyond vast.
Inside Sam's apartment, Luna sets her luggage to the side as she lights a joint. Passing it to Sam while she caters to her cat Jasper.
"I need to hook up with Nipple tonight." Luna informs Sam as she takes the joint back.
"Hit him up... Have him meet up with us here after Duplex." Sam answers as she cuddles her furry friend.
"Alright, cool." Luna agrees as she sends out the text.
They finish the joint before Luna grabs a few things and heads to her grandmother's. She's gonna meet up with Sam and Stephanie later.
Out on the pavement, Luna hails a cab. As she makes her way back Uptown she stares out the window. Thousands of thoughts and memories drifting through her mind as the cab zips and jerks through the busy streets. Looking up, she catches a glimpse of the Empire State Building. It's lit in multicolor lights to celebrate Pride Week.
Luna smiles to herself with a soft sigh. Thinking of her grandfather and wondering what he would've been like. Robert Mapplethorpe had passed away from the AIDS virus before Luna was born. Even without having the chance to meet him, his creativity and legacy continue to live on through every photograph Luna's ever taken. His intense eye and style being engrained into her soul.
--------------------------------------------------
After the show The Boys stay at The Palms, gambling and drinking like their normal reDICKulous selves. Sitting around the roulette table Colson nudges Rook.
"Yo. We good?" He asks with a crooked smile.
Looking over at Colson, Rook places $1000 chip on Black. His eyes have a daring electricity in them that Colson's never seen before.
"You and Loons good?" He asks with a glare on his face as Colson matches his bet.
"Yeah... She's meeting back up with us in LA..." Colson begins to answer.
"BLACK 17!!" The Dealer calls.
"FUUUUUCK YEAH!!" Colson and Rook shout in unison as they high five each other in excitement.
Heading towards another table after collecting their winnings, Colson asks Rook again if They're Good. Rook doesn't say anything until their bets are placed.
"Guess I am if you guys are... I'm gonna grab a beer." Rook says curtly as he brushes him off.
Walking away before the ball stops bouncing. Not caring for the money or conversation he left at the table.
Watching him walk way Colson isn't sure how he feels about Rook's words. "He ain't seen shit if he thinks that was bad..." He thinks to himself as his memories roll over the arguments and fights him and Luna have gotten into. His dick grows hard as he remembers the night he smashed her phone. "Fuck I hope she makes it back in time tomorrow, crazy fucking bitch...." He chuckles to himself as he touches the middle of his forehead. "Enh... He'll get ov...." His thoughts being broken as The Dealer calls his color again.
---------------------------------------------------
"Hey Mom-Mom...." Luna calls out as she opens the door.
"Loons! I was wondering when you were getting home." Patti answers as she embraces her granddaughter with a warm hug.
Walking into the kitchen together, Luna greets Joni. Catching up with her grandmother and aunt, she explains her itinerary and asks to borrow Joni's jet to get back to LA tomorrow. Joni happily agrees, with Luna's fame rising, both her and Patti prefer for Luna to travel privately rather than commercially. Continuing to chat about Luna's plans, she suggests they come out with her tonight. They're beyond delighted by the invitation. Going on to get dressed as Luna heads to her own bedroom.
Luna hates using the jet. It feels weird and pretentious to her. Collecting random things from her room, she finds the shimmery rainbow one piece she wants to wear tomorrow. Unlocking the top of her safe, she pulls out her Glock and the two unused clips. Placing them safely in her bag, it's one of the two reasons she won't mind using the jet tomorrow.
---------------------------------------------------
Still inside The Palms, Colson and The Boys are getting tore up. Drinking, smoking, laughing, gambling and flirting with girls.
Rook and Colson start wrestling around as usual. Catching him in a headlock, Colson gives Rook a noogie as he squirms out of his grasp with a few light body shots. Climbing on top of a stool, Rook spidermonkey's off of it onto Colson's back. With one arm around his neck, Rook starts running his knuckles over the top of Colson's head.
"How you like it!!" He shouts as Colson spins them around in a circle.
Flipping Rook over his back and off of him, Colson drops him onto the floor. With a quick sweep of the leg, Rook knocks Colson down onto the ground with him. They start slap boxing as they roll all over the carpet of the casino. Rook adding a touch of force behind his hits. Colson's ring catches Rook in the eyebrow hard, breaking the skin. This causes their wrestling to become a bit more aggressive as they battle it out, rocking into innocent bystanders as they smack each other. It's not until they find themselves out of breath, trapped, barely able to hit the other and Rook bleeding, do they stop.
"Feel better?" Colson asks slightly panting.
"A bit." Rook answers trying to catch his own.
With that, the two friends help each other up. Rook giving Colson a firm SideEye after they rise.
"Stop fucking wit my homie." He states before catching Colson with another light slap to his left cheek.
"Fair enough." Colson laughs, appreciating how protective Rook seems to be of Luna. "Let her know we miss her?" He then asks.
"Definitely." Rook agrees as Colson throws his arm over his shoulder, both grinning stupidly as they Snap their favorite girl.
---------------------------------------------------
Duplex is one of NYC hidden gems. It's the oldest, most queer and utterly fantastic piano bar in The West Village.
Walking inside with Patti and Joni, Luna finds Stephanie with a bunch of their friends. Including Mackenzie and Mal. Grabbing her grandmother's hand, she leads them over.
"Smith!!" Stephanie shouts upon seeing her. "Ohh!! And you've got Patti and Joni with you!" She glows as she stands to greet them.
"Hey you..." A deep voice says as a finger taps Luna's shoulder.
"AHHHH!!!" Luna screams in excitement.
Turning around, she finds her dear friend Logan Slaughterhouse. One the most fabulous people she knows, inside and out. Jumping up into his arms, Luna gives him a full body squeeze.
"Watch the make-up, Little Bird." Logan laughs as Luna pecks him with kisses.
"It's so good to see you!" Luna says wrapping her arms around his waist after she's jumped down.
"I know!! It's only been forever, Miss Popularity.... Pretty soon you'll be just like Steph and we'll never see you...." He teases.
"Stop it. I'm about to buy another place and set up a lable here... Girl, you know I can't be outta The City for too long!" She laughs as she holds him tight before pulling out of their hug.
"Soooooo.... Tell me about THIS MAAAAN..." He drawls.
Logan watches Luna with love as she gushes about Colson. Covering everything from their insane connection, her relationship with Casie to his beautiful, tortured creative soul and how he's so incredibly sweet but a still fucking Asshole at the same time. Logan laughing loudly at the last part.
"All the best are, darling." Logan reassures her with a knowing grin.
They head to the bar to order and grab a round for those in need. Such as Luna, Patti and Joni. Reaching her hand out to pay, Logan's eyes are pulled towards her sparkling finger.
"Holy Mother of Mary... It is true!!!" He exclaims while grabbing her hand.
Flipping it in his hands, the way Ashley did when she first seen it, he looks up with wide eyes. Luna meeting him with an amused smirk.
"Oh no, Sister Girl." He states as he drags her away, leaving their order waiting. "Patti!! Patti!! Did you know about thissss?" Logan asks as he thrusts Luna's engagement ring up in the air to the group.
The sight of the large ruby is met by gasps, Oh Shits and Wows. Some shocked at the beauty of the stone, other's by it's representation.
"Yes, I did." Patti answers as sh"Yes, I did." Patti answers as she takes Luna's hand. "It's gorgeous, eh?" She asks their companions as she displays Luna's hand again.
"Yeah... About that...." Luna starts in, she's yet to talk to her grandmother regarding this whole marriage conversation she had with Colson.
"HEEY!!!" Sam shouts as she heads towards their tables.
Patti and Luna's almost conversation is lost as Sam joins them. Luna goes on to say Hello to anyone she'd missed. Grabbing a seat, she Thanks Logan as he returns with their drinks.
Patti's friends Debbie and Susan join them as the night mixes with excitement and nastalgia. The diverse group speaking of tomorrow's and the past. Sharing drinks, laughter, stories and plans. Listening as the piano and different singer's melodies fill the air around them.
Duplex is an old haunt of Stephanie and Luna's. With Stephanie sparingly stopping in and Luna being gone for what feels like forever, they're both teased and guilt tripped until they agree to take the stage.
Luna performs Benny, a fun, catchy tune she had written years ago about her friend coming out. Telling the story of how Luna had a crush on him but how he had loved a boy named Benny and found a future where they could be happy. It's a crowd favorite, hitting #5 on the Indie Charts when it debuted. Always being requested when Luna's present and even covered when she's not.
Stephanie hits the stage next, performing Born This Way. Being one of the more famous anthems of the LGBTQ community, the bar roars along with her. Begging for more as she finishes up. Laughing in appreciation, she calls Luna back to the stage. Obliging, Luna drags her grandmother and her friends behind her in retaliation for their laughter.
Luna slides in next to Stephanie on the piano bench. Quickly discussing amongst the five of them, they choose to cover Elton John's Rocket Man. It'll be an easy cover with Luna and Stephanie knowing how to play the song together as a piano duet. Luna opens with the beginning lyrics, switching off before the end of the first verse with Stephanie. They then harmonize with each other over the chorus. Patti, Susan, and Debbie coming in to share the second verses and chorus with each other. It's a loud and jovial performance. Iconic and rare. Something to only be caught once in a lifetime, solely found in New York City. The five of them coming together for the last set of the chorus as the crowd continues to sing along with them the whole way through.
🎼And//I think it's gonna be//A long long time//'Till touch down//Brings me round again// To find//I'm not the man//They think I am at home//Oh no no no//I'm a rocket man//Rocket man//Burning out his fuse up Here alone🎶
Their audience claps and cheers for the five musicians and each other as they end the number. Multiple rounds being purchased for The Bar in celebration. The night continuing on with laughter, bonding and LOTS of alcohol.

Before saying GoodBye to Stephanie and everyone, they remind each other where they're meeting in the morning and whose responsible for which essentials. Luna then puts Patti and her friends in a cab. Hugging and kissing them GoodBye before catching her own cab with Sam.
Nipple is sitting on Sam's stoop when they arrive. Paying the driver and hopping out of the cab, Luna embraces the man tightly. He may be her Guy but like most people in her life, he's her friend also.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Upstairs Luna, Sam and Nipple catch up while sharing joints and beers. Him asking Where They've Been. After answering, they ask him How's Life. Sam, Luna and Nipple have known each other for almost 5yrs. Meeting through an ex boyfriend of Sam's. Like bath water, she had thrown out the whole boyfriend while keeping their plug.
Sitting together at the kitchen table, Luna pulls out five thick stacks of cash. Her actions surprise neither Sam or Nipple. They're used to Luna buying in bulk. Nipple opens both of the two black gym bags he has with him as he begins to place her order on the table.
"Okay... We got... A pound of magical fungi. An ounce of pure, uncut Molls... I did a hit of this shit last night and... Shoooh!!! Gone, and I mean GONE HARD for like 16hrs!" Nipple exclaims as he pats the bag of chunky, cloudy, yellow crystals. "I've got 10grams of DMT, 120 bars, 120 footballs, 120 XR30s and 120 30s..." He sits back looking proudly at his display. "Oh!! I almost forgot. I got you a goodie bag too. A Quap each of Red Kross, MK and Guaptilla as your Indica and then I threw in an Alien Jack to try out as a Sativa." He continues as he drops the four large bags of marijuana on the table also. "I also got you a mix of 50 carts if you want check 'em out." He says pulling out a cardboard box.
The items on the table aren't much different from anything Luna would normally order. The only change is that some items are doubled up along with the addition of the 30s and Adds. Luna knows which one she's catching a hard SideEye from Sam for. Brushing her off, Luna goes through the cases of liquid THC viles and checks over the rest of her items as Nipple counts his payment. They're friends but business is business.
Sharing another joint as Luna repacks her purchases, Nipple asks Why The Double Up and Change. Luna uses the second reason for not minding the jet as her answer. She's headed to The West Coast and needs to stock up while she has the ability to move mass quantities. This sparks questions about Why The West Coast which turn into Congratulations on her engagement. Nipple admitting he's a MGK fan to Sam's scoffs.
As Nipple goes to leave, Sam's buzzer goes off. It's Ashley. She comes in like a hurricane as Luna checks her phone. There's a Snap from Colson and Rook.
"What are you laughing at?" Ashley asks as she snatches Luna's phone.
Tumblr media
Looking at it, she smirks and tosses it back at Luna. "Tell those animals I said to shut the fuck up... They're always Assholes."
Luna snaps a picture of Ashley as she grabs her tits and sticks out her tongue. Placing a caption, she shoots it to Colson. Sam passes Ashley a joint she has sparked as her and Luna fill Ashley in on tomorrow's plans.
"I can't believe you're leaving after Memorial Park..." Ashley complains as she exhales.
"Right." Sam snarks as she hands Luna and Ashley each a beer.
"Man, fuck you guys." Luna says as she takes the joint from Ashley. "It'd be different if it wasn't his last show."
"Whatever... Just admit it. You're DickSprung." Sam laughs as she throws a cheese ball at Luna.
"Yeah? You got something to say about THAT Baaaazemeister?" Luna counters as Ashley laughs at them both.
"Fuck you." Sam laughs with her as she chucks another cheese ball in Luna's direction.
--------------------------------------------------
Colson's headed back to The Bus when he gets Luna's Snap. Laughing out loud, he shows it to Rook.
Tumblr media
"You can't deny Ash has a great rack." Rook jokes as Colson shoves him on The Bus.
Colson Snaps Luna back quickly before hopping on himself. Not saying it out loud but knowing himself that Ashley definitely has nice tits.
--------------------------------------------------
"Hey... We should talk." Sam says to Luna.
They're on the floor passing a bong back and forth while Ashley snoozes on the couch. Luna eyes Sam. They never Talk.
"I'm not going to LA with you tomorrow...." Sam begins before she takes a rip.
Luna's eyebrows furrow together as she takes the bong and asks Why. She hits it Sam rattles on about LA not being her scene and how she was only supposed to be on tour for a couple days, not weeks.
"What about Baze?" Luna asks bluntly as she exhales.
"I talked to Steve already.... I need to be home for a minute, Loons. He gets that...." Sam trails off as she repacks the head.
"Is this about Colson?" Luna's question still being direct.
"No... I don't know... Maybe.... Honestly? He gets on my fucking nerves sometimes and I don't really understand why you're rushing to marry him the way you are. It doesn't seem like you at all... Not the rushing but the marriage. Like... Why all of a sudden do you need some type of confirmation from the fucking government?" Sam asks as she finally lets out her true thoughts.
Luna and Sam stare at each other for a moment. Luna taking a huge rip, coughing her face off and having to regain her composure before answering.
"I don't know, Sammy... Maybe because at 26yrs old, I already understand mortality way more than I should? Because I know with my whole being that it's right, even when it's tough..... There's something between Us that's unexplainable. A connection and understanding that doesn't even need words most times." Luna says as she thinks about the depth of her and Colson's relationship.
"I know.... I've seen it." Sam sighs out her own hit.
"Then what's the fucking problem?" Luna asks as she holds the bong hostage.
"You know the problem. It's the same problem you had with Justin." Sam answers as lifts her lowered eyes to Luna's.
Her words form a lump in Luna's throat. She's already aware of the different qualities Colson and Justin share. Swallowing hard, she bites the inside of her cheek as her stomach starts to hurt from also knowing that Sam's right.
"Well, I'm already in it, so... It's gonna turn out how it turns out whether we're married or not." Luna shrugs. "Now, what are we gonna do about IT?" She asks, changing the subject before she fires the smoking apparatus back up.
"What do you mean?" Sam counters with confusion.
"I've gotta get it recorded.... I was planning on doing it in LA as soon as we got back, but...." Luna trails with uncertainty as she hands over the piece.
"You still want Mikey?" Sam asks.
"Yeah." Luna nods with concerned eyes.
"I'm still not going with you tomorrow but if you HAVE to record in fucking Cali, I'll be there. Mikey too." Sam says with a sigh. "I'm still not going with you tomorrow but if you HAVE to record in fucking Cali, I'll be there. Mikey too." Sam says with a sigh before finally taking a hit.
All of this feels weird to Luna and Sam. Through their long years of friendship and musical collaborations, this is the first time they aren't on the same line. Let alone the same page.
"I'm sorry." Sam continues when she sees the hurt on Luna's face.
Shaking her head, Luna reassures her They're Good. Kissing Sam lightly on the cheek, she heads out to the fire escape alone for a smoke. Lighting a cigarette, she closes her eyes and listens to The City as she contemplates Sam's words.
"It really doesn't matter..." Luna thinks of Colson. "Coke, Adderall, DickHeadedness... It's not like I can go anywhere..." She thinks. Acknowledging how he's trapped her soul, becoming the only one she desires. With the throbbing ache of being away from him for even simple reasons, Luna can't stomach imagining them not together as a couple. The thought makes her heart feel sad and lost. Even with her history, to Luna, there's no one but Colson.
Finishing her cigarette, she checks her phone. There's a new Snap from Colson.
Tumblr media
Luna rolls her eyes as she opens it, glad that Ashley is asleep considering it's content. Walking back inside, she sits in front of a mirror on the living room floor. Snapping Colson back, she then pops two 30s and a bar before heading to crawl into bed with Sam for the night.
--------------------------------------------------
With his and Luna's time difference being off, Colson finds himself on the back of The Bus in their empty bed. Drunk and missing her, he tries to call. Disappointed when it rings straight through.
"Ugh, I fucking miss her.... Man, I really hope she makes it to LA..." He worries to himself.
Curling up in bed, he searches through his phone, wanting a particular file. He had not so secretly recorded Luna when she had shared her latest song with him. Finding it, he wraps himself around Luna's pillow. Slowly falling out as she sings him to sleep. His mind dissecting her words as it drifts off. Making his heart worry about how his flaws have and will continue to effect her.
--------------------------------------------------
You would think that Sunday morning would be insane. It's not. They're in Sam's apartment and Sam functions on no one's time but her own. Much like Luna.
Waking up naturally around 10A, Sam bothers no one. Pattering around her place, she starts a pot of coffee before heading out to the fire escape with Jasper for her morning cigarette.
Finishing up, she heads back inside with Jasper in tow. Flipping on her stereo, she drops Janis Joplin's Pearl onto her record player. Using the raspy voiced woman and her powerful band to rise her friends.
It works. Ashley lifts her head off the couch as Luna slowly makes her way out of the bedroom. Sam doesn't yell about Pride, she simply hands over cups of coffee with individual joints. The three girls climbing out the window to catch the early June morning sun, a smoke and to finally scream MOTHERFUCKING PRIDE. Slowly coming to life as they laugh with each other while sipping their coffee and smoking as they discuss their day.
--------------------------------------------------
Colson wakes up on the back of The Bus. Reaching for his phone, his head is pounding. Opening his lock screen he finds a Snap from Luna.
Tumblr media
Forgetting what he sent her before, Colson stares at her picture. He can barely see her through the words on the screen but her full lips are on display for him.
Pulling his briefs off, he starts to stroke his cock. Rubbing his thumb around the tip of his head, he imagines Luna's hands and mouth on him. Spitting on his hand, he runs it up and down his hard dick, pretending his saliva is Luna's juices. Pulling quicker and firmer, he licks his other hand before spitting into it also. Grabbing his dick with his soaked hand, he yanks on himself as he remembers pushing Luna up against the hotel window.
His legs begin to shake as his hand clenches around himself. Squeezing harder, he tugs on his huge staff. His mind dreaming of Luna's pussy around his cock as he cums all over himself. Breathing hard, he stares at the Snap he screen shotted. Even with a full release, his heart still wanting Luna.
"FUCK....." His mind sighs.
--------------------------------------------------
Dressed in a rainbow colored, shimmery one piece with flowing strands, high black boots and accessories, Luna is Pride Ready. She had picked the outfit up last year and has been WAITING to wear it's gloriousness.

Kezi's x Red proposal!
Kezi's POV
There was a light knock on my bedroom door. "Kezi? Ya ready yet?" Called a gruff voice I know and love.
"Just a sec Red!" I yelled back as I grabbed my pale green cardigan.
I swooshed the door open and there he stood, He held a beautiful bouquet of flowers in his arms. And for a second we just stared at each other wordlessly, I couldn't help but notice how handsome he looks in that Red dress shirt.
"I um, got Ya these." He finally spoke, breaking the silence handing the flowers to me.
How on earth does this adorable skelly man keep melting my heart like this?
"They're beautiful, you didn't have to."
He mumbled something I didn't quite catch, but knowing him he probably didn't want me to hear whatever he said.
"Thank you, I'll just put them in some water, then we can get going."
It was a beautiful night, Red had suggested we walk which was a bit strange but I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth, it was always nice to go on a little romantic walk with my boyfriend, and it being a rare occasion just makes it that little bit more special. So there we were walking in the dead of night, the glittering stars above our heads. I wrapped my arm around his and cuddled up to him but something seemed a miss.
"Red, I have a quick question."
"Sure, what's on yer mind sweetheart?"
"Ok so, I'm loving the red shirt, your outfits really nice but I was just wondering where your jacket is? It's just you're always wearing it, I know it makes you feel comfortable and well I was kind of missing your fluffy hood, Has your brother finally managed to get it in the wash or something?" I rambled on a little wishing the words would just stop.
"Ha ha, very funny, but Nah it's in ma inventory. It's gettin' a little chilli, I'll put it on unless ya wanna wear it?"
"I'm good, but I think you could do with the cuddle factor." I giggled.
With a few taps of his phone his jacket appeared on him and I snuggled into the softest hood known to man and monster kind. We continued walking and talking about idle things, until we found ourselves on a hill, in front of us was a bench with the best view of the stars I'd ever seen.
"Wow!" I gasped practical gaping at the amazing sight.
"Heh, yeah, I um, wanted to show ya this place doll, it's the best stargazin spot I could find. It's um, real special."
"It's so beautiful!"
We sat down on the bench looking up at the celestial lights that painted the sky so perfectly, his arm around the back of the bench. I cuddle up to him, burying my head once again in the floof on his hood.
Tumblr media
"I um…" Red took a deep breath and held my hand, a light glow to his cheekbones, he seemed a little nervous for a reason unknown to me.
"Kezi, I, well, ya see, I adore ya, ya amazin', meetin' ya was the best thing that's ever happened ta me, you're so supportive, understandin' an' so kind, I mean how can anyone be as flipping kind as ya, I really dunno. Ya absolutely adorable and gorgeous and well I wanna make ya feel as happy an' safe as ya make me feel, An' I really wanna let ya know how damn special ya are ta me, now I'm no good at this emotional stuff an' wish I was cuz this might be a little easier, but there just aren't any words to describe how I feel about ya, not any I can find at least, I just love ya that much. Ya really make ma soul soar an' I can't even imagine life without ya. So I guess what 'm trynna say is."
He got up from the bench and down on one knee in front of me and got out the prettiest ring I'd ever seen, my heart bubbled up with joy.
"Would ya marry me?"
I gasped and jumped up, the joy consuming me, "YES! Yes, Of course!"
His eye lights lit up brightly, forming heart shapes his cheek bones glowing slightly. "R-really!"
"Yes, yes, yes! Oh stars Yes!"
"OK, OK, um, here, put on the ring."
"It's so beautiful, how did you such a gorgeous ring?"
"Well I had a little help."
I wrap my arms around him In a happy, excited hug and kiss his cheekbone.
"What, ya miss on purpose?" He chuckled
"No, I'm pretty sure I-"
His teeth pressed against my lips cutting me off. He slid his hand behind my head deepening the kiss.
"Damn Kezi, I love ya so much." He whispered his hot breath hitting my face.
"I love you more,"
"I flipping doubt that sweetheart." He purred moving in for another kiss.

Merry Go Round
Tumblr media
The nickname 'stone face' wasn't earned by Hwang Minhyun for nothing. Yet with such a handsome face, the cold image was still lingering all over him because he was well-known to be very quiet. This didn't stop Jung Yesoo from confessing to him 2 years ago. Standing before Yesoo, who was anxious waiting for his answer, Minhyun still maintained the facial expression that makes everyone reluctant to approach him. But slowly he showed his little smile. Great amount of shyness was unexpectedly oozed from that little smile that slowly got wider. Yes, he accepted her.
Both Minhyun and Yesoo were a shy couple in the first 100 days. It felt like riding a roller coaster for children. No big, scary, nerve racking ups and downs, but the excited feeling was there. Aside from that, Yesoo's friends could tell that she was genuinely happy. A fresh smile was always attached on her face. She barely had a bad day. Because seeing Minhyun itself had become her main source of happiness, although Minhyun didn't talk much or do sweet things to her.
And so the days went on. The ride had changed to merry go round. The happiness was still there, but it just went round and round with constant speed although the view was beautiful. Minhyun still had his usual smile. Yesoo still smiled, yet she felt different. The fond feeling of Minhyun didn't change. Yet she couldn't help thinking that something was a bit off.
Yesoo was too afraid to spill it on Minhyun.
"Chuseok holiday is coming. Do you want to go somewhere?" Yesoo asked. They were enjoying a lunch date in Hongdae. Lunch date is a must on the weekend since that's the only time they have to see each other.
Minhyun nodded. But Yesoo couldn't tell if he was excited, if he was anticipating about it, or maybe if he was at least interested. They were going to one year and 9 months together, and Yesoo couldn't believe herself that she didn't know much about Minhyun. She can't even read his mind or his expression. She wouldn't know if Minhyun probably was the opposite who knows everything about her since he never really talked about it. "Where do you want to go?" he asked back.
"I was thinking about Deukryang Island. But that would be too far, I guess."
"Well, we can make option list."
Yesoo nodded.
After paying the bills, they were ready to go outside when Yesoo almost reached out her arm to hold Minhyun's hand. Suddenly her mind was full of thoughts of her relationship. She just remembered, after all this time, she was the one who did the moves first. Confession, first date, second date, third date, and even holding hands.
"Yesoo?" he called, already several steps ahead.
"Yeah, coming up." She finally grabbed her beloved boyfriend's hand.
~~~~
Yesoo stomped her steps as she finished her work early. Her colleagues already bid her good bye. The time showed that it was only 2 PM. Suddenly it crossed her mind that Minhyun's office was nearby. A visit once in a while would be harmless, right?
She tried to call him but no answer. Her lips pouted as she redialled her phone. This time he picked up, which enlightened her expression.
"Hey, I'm near your office. You know, that cafe across your office building."
"Oh, yeah."
Yesoo's smile slowly faded. She could imagine how Minhyun was on the phone, with his plain, expressionless face, and his attention all over to his computer screen, working on anything he was working on. She continued speaking, "I was thinking if we could meet for a minute, or two. I'm buying you coffee and some snack."
"Sorry, it's not that I don't want to meet you, but work is piling up right now."
The smile was completely gone on her face. She just faked one when talking. "Oh, okay. It's alright. Let's meet once you're not busy."
"Mm-hmm. I'll text you later."
"Sure."
"I'm hanging up."
"Okay." She glanced at the coffee and bread she had bought. Fortunately, she only bought what she liked, so she could have them later.
 Meanwhile at the same time, Minhyun who was concentrating on his new project got startled by Jisoo who suddenly popped up out of nowhere. "Was it your girlfriend?" he asked with excitement oozing out of his eyes.
The word 'girlfriend' successfully attracted everyone's attention and they started to cheer. Because who would have a thought that this stone-face actually has a girlfriend?
"What? Hwang Minhyun? Girlfriend?"
"Really? Heol, daebak."
Thanks to Jisoo, now Minhyun couldn't focus on his work.
The chattering went on until his supervisor showed up and joined the crowd. "Your girlfriend is here? Then you should come down and meet her. I suppose you haven't had your lunch break."
"No, Raina noona, it's fine. I'm almost finished."
"Hwang Minhyun, do you want me to turn off your computer this very moment?" Raina bend her body and put her thumb on Minhyun's computer's power button. She didn't seem to play around, especially recalling how eccentric she was. "Then go down this instant. Your work can wait for a while."
"Yes, Ma'am." He quickly stood up before Raina started rambling again, or worse.
Minhyun stopped by in rest room to wash his face. His face and body muscles got stiff from not moving from his workspace. He massaged his wet face before he got tissues to dry it.
His eyes landed at the mirror before him, gazing at his own reflection for a moment. Fair skin, not so thick eyebrows, squinted monolid eyes, fine nose, and thin lips. Not to mention a sharp jaw. Stone face, huh? Well, he always put a serious expression that he never realized. His sense of fashion also matched the 'stone face' concept, as his closet was full of plain black, grey, white or brown colored outfit. Whenever he went out with Yesoo, whose clothes were mostly colorful or have patterns, the contrast of their outfit was very clear.
Before leaving the rest room, he once again took a look at himself who was wearing black shirt and grey trousers. He gave himself some pats on his shoulder and chest, probably to brush off some dust sticking on his clothes.
He dialed Yesoo's number as he speeded up his steps to go after her girlfriend, who he assumed was still in the restaurant she mentioned. Or at least if she had left, she wouldn't be very far. Yesoo not picking up his call finally made him run through emergency stairs from the 5th floor instead of using elevator. He headed to the restaurant across the street right away.
At least Minhyun was right about his girlfriend not leaving the restaurant yet. But who she was with there apparently poked his curiosity.
"Yesoo!" he called her. Yet she didn't even flinch. Minhyun could tell that Yesoo finally recognized him after given signs from her 'friend'.
At last, Yesoo turned her head to where Hui's eyes stopped. An instant smile grew on her face and she immediately got up approaching the tall guy. She reached her arm to link to him. "Did you have lunch? Do you want me to order something for you? Coffee?"
Minhyun, smiling and looking at his girl in the eyes, shook his head. "I'm good. But coffee would be great."
Yesoo smiled back. She escorted him to her seat, where Hui awkwardly waited for his friend to come back. "I'll be right back," she said as she patted Minhyun's back when he sat across Hui. "By the way, this is my friend, Hwitaek, or Hui for short. Hui, this is boyfriend, Minhyun."
Both guys bowed their heads and said hi. Once Yesoo left to the cashier, only awkward silence lingered around them. Thank goodness she didn't go away for long.
"Here's your coffee." She handed the tall cup to Minhyun and took a seat between the guys.
"So, I assume we work in the same building." Hui started conversation when he noticed the same access card hanging on Minhyun's neck.
"Yeah, I'm on the fifth floor."
"Oh, cool. Seonho and Guanlin are there too, right? Anyway, I'm on the second floor."
"Yeah." Minhyun calmly sipped his coffee. Then he didn't say any single word.
Having finished all the food, Hui finally excused himself leaving the couple. Just because. "Anyway.. It's nice to meet you guys, but I have to go back." He continued, "Yesoo, it's great to see you again. I'll talk to you later, okay?"
Yesoo nodded, waving her friend a good bye, alongside Minhyun who was bowing to him.
"Yesoo, I think I should go back too."
She pouted. "Already?" She was not usually clingy. But there were times when she wanted to be that clingy girlfriend. She never tried it though. It would be weird if she was being clingy out of the blue, especially to the stone-face guy like Minhyun, who was her own boyfriend, who didn't seem to be able to spoil his own girlfriend. "But I want to stay longer," she mumbled.
"Sorry," he replied. His expression didn't change a bit. "I'll call you later." With that, he got up after patting her head twice. He threw a little smile at her before leaving.
 ~~~
 Fall season was approaching very soon. Yesoo couldn't wait for the falling leaves all over the street. Autumn was Yesoo's favorite season, and Minhyun's too. This year was going to be their second time enjoying autumn together. Last autumn they went to Han river almost every weekend, having a picnic. Sometimes they went for a hike too in nearby mountains.
Yesoo had finished putting her summer clothes in a box after taking out all her autumn clothes. She had spared a few pieces for the last days of summer. Just in time when she had to find her cocktail midi dress and her only one high heels. She was getting ready for accompanying Minhyun to his company dinner, which allowed the workers to bring their plus one. As for Minhyun's case, his colleagues were the one who encouraged him to bring Yesoo. They seemed to be very enthusiastic to meet Hwang Minhyun's girlfriend.
It was rare for Yesoo to attend those fancy events. Her outfits were mostly smart casual. Or just casual. She didn't have much make up kit and tools too. She only had basic skin care, some BB cream or CC cream, foundation, and mascara. And, of course, some lipstick or lip tints. That day was going to be her very first time dolling herself up for Minhyun. By dolling up, it meant that after doing her base, she was just going to add blush and eye shadows using lipstick she had. That should be enough to give some colors.
She decided to leave her hair untied after she tried curling it a little. She brushed her hair with her fingers for the finishing touch. Just in time when Minhyun called, saying he was already in the apartment lobby. She quickly put on her heels and grabbed a coat lying on the couch.
Minhyun greeted with a warm smile. Without words they just set off and headed to the dinner venue. As usual, there were not much conversation on the road. Yesoo used to like every moment with Minhyun, including that long silence moment between them. But now, this silence had a different feel. Yesoo couldn't even look at him the way she used to when they were drowned in their own moment of silence. One-hour trip from her apartment to the restaurant felt like one year and somehow it was killing her inside.
Finally they arrived and dropped off Minhyun's car. That Minhyun didn't take Yesoo's hands hadn't changed. Yesoo had to reach his. So she could walk by his side, not behind his back. Wearing their best smiles, they headed straight to the venue and were jolly welcomed by Minhyun's coworkers. They were so delighted to see Minhyun's girlfriend, who they found her a bit odd for having Hwang Minhyun the stone face as boyfriend.
"Yesoo, thank you for today," said Minhyun when they were on their way home.
"It's okay. I had fun. You have nice friends. I'm sure the office environment is good."
"Yeah." Minhyun paused for a quite long time. He pretended to search for songs on the radio. "Actually, there is something I've wanted to say."
As much as Yesoo got flustered, she wouldn't show it. She knew sooner or later this time was going to come. She had no idea what it is he was going to say. But she had feelings. "What is it?" she asked, smiling.
"What do you think about us?"
Still maintaining her smile, she asked back. "What do you mean?" She tried hard to combine words that scattered in her head. "I like us. I like that you are with me the past 2 years." Her voice was getting softer and a little bit shakier, as she continued, "And I wish we can stay together for... more years to come?"
"I see." He looked at Yesoo, who just turned her head and kept her eyes to the front.
"What about you?"
"I..." Minhyun forced a smile. "I like it too."
This time Yesoo forced a smile as well. She knew Minhyun buried his honest feelings deep inside. Although he had his infamous stone-face, she could easily tell that the smile wasn't genuine. Why he wouldn't say it out loud was still a question to Yesoo. Frankly, it bothered her. But she didn't want to push him to tell the truth.
As the time passed, Yesoo's behavior towards Minhyun started to change. She no longer reached her hand to hold his. She no longer asked where they were going to go on weekends. She no longer gave suggestions on where they should go on weekends. She also no longer had that genuine happy smile when with him. The smile she wore mostly was forced. And no one really knew if Minhyun was aware of this. If this continued, fall probably would just pass without any good memories between them.
