GUYS tonight’s dnd was so fucking amazing. Yuri faced and killed his abuser, almost completely solo’ing him by himself. Yuri went from a scared child, afraid of fighting back to literally charging him with his axe and killing him like the coward he was. HE FOUGHT BACK AND WON!

then after Ismo was dead, a fucking Hydroloth crawled out of his corpse and they managed to kill that too. Yuri then witnessed a vision of Ismo being sent directly to the Abyss and reincarnated as a worm, where he’ll writhe forever.

AND AND -- he saved his gnoll-mama and reunited her with his gnoll-papa.

You don't get unrecruited!Ignatz risking his life to help Claude build the future of Fodlan in CF from that support convo. You don't get Claude grieving over being unable to save a killed unrecruited!Ignatz during AM!Gronder from that support convo. You don't get Ignatz being the one to reassure Claude that the Deer are standing by his side in VW's last event from that support convo.

It's so ass!! Like you said it could have gone somewhere genuinely interesting, discussing more about the different faiths Ignatz and Claude personally hold for themselves and how they can connect over that, but no! It just becomes a lame "hehe isn't Sothis and (specifically female) Byleth so pwetty hehe" and it's just so annoying! Because in pretty much every single other part of the game Ignatz is shown to have grown an incredibly deep amount of respect and trust in Claude's capabilities and Claude shows a want to protect Ignatz and then you look at their support for context for where that came from and?? There's literally nothing at all?? At least by the end of the support there isn't. Like the support could work just fine as a silly haha if their relationship outside of it wasn't so drastically different 😭

I think it's criminally underrated, the loyalty it takes to follow any given lord to Gronder. There, Dimitri and Claude are tied. If we ignore people tied to their lords out of political loyalty, however?

Claude has the most.

Like Ignatz (not to mention Raphael and Leonie) . does not have to fight in this war. At-fucking-all. And yet there he is, at the battle that is seen as the pinnacle of tension in the war (not if you recruit everyone out of their houses lmao), fighting, IN HIS OWN WORDS, for the Fódlan Claude wants to create. And yet instead of talking about this in their support, Claude is acting like an immature ten-year-old for . . . absolutely no good reason.

All I'm saying is that we could have had an Ignatz who's muttering to himself about mixing pigments for a project of his. Claude who stumbles upon him and mentions how his face isn't the sort to frown. Ignatz who tries to send him away, but Claude is latching onto the idea that he owes Ignatz something after he revealed he wanted more than anything to see the goddess, and convinces himself he has to even out the tables so there's no more owing (but he also just . wants friends ya know <//3). He makes an off-handed comment about wanting a world where differences are celebrated, not demeaned. Ignatz just nods, not even thinking anything of it, and is like "Of course! The best colours are only products of a whole bunch of different colours." CLAUDE though--starts vibrating. He gets it!! Ignatz gets it!!

We could have had Ignatz painting Fódlan's Throat without the Locket, the sun rising in the east, literally the physical manifestation of a new dawn for both countries, and gifting it to Claude in their A-support (locked until Claude brings in the Almyran reinforcements). We could have had Claude mentioning how admirable it was that Ignatz worked so hard for the future, and Igantz just being like "Well yeah Fódlan is important but I fight for you too"

JUST. WE HONEST TO GOD COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL.
