I'm just. so grateful for LOSH

#I was having a hard time when I first started reading it #i was sick most of the year with infection after infection #and i didn't have barely any motivation to draw or write or make playlists #all things I love to do more than just about anything #and then i read losh and suddenly i felt like creating again more than i had in months #even when i was sick AGAIN it got me through it #and i've met so many wonderful people and gained so many wonderful mutuals #who also helped me through it more than they know #simply by talking to me about comic books when i didn't feel well #its just. i love the comics and i love the people i've met through them #sorry i'm emotional tonight #delete later

Following the art associated with this piece, I'd like to say a few things and make a few shout outs to friends involved in the process. This ask consumed my month, always in the background and always cause for a good long chuckle.

First, a nod to @nevrat, who appropriately roasted and made fun of my ass when I first found out what "Butsutaji" was. I made the mistake of reading it as though it was the name of a tradition and not in fact just two angry gilfs going to town on each other. Nev is also the sweetheart who suggested I make this into my own New Year's tradition, which I will be sticking to wholeheartedly. (I am a man who commits to the bit.)

Then to you, WBY, because this both prompted me to reach out, but also to spark a friendship that is, to me, fascinating and great to be in. You're such a delightful person and I'm glad I can call you a friend.

@magnolian-gold, my fiance, for being disgustingly sweet even when joining Nev in on roasting me. (Still fair. I goofed so hard on this one.) This year has been both exciting and confusing. I started it off a disgruntled Dragon Age fan, idling in my little corner with little to do. Now, as we end it, I'm neck deep in Naruto and enjoying myself thoroughly. The Founders corner of the fandom is truly spectacular, full of talented and passionate authors and artists, and the people are generally respectful if not immediately kind. (I've met very few people who are rude, mind you!) Anyways, Butsutaji shall now be my New Year's tradition, just to keep with the prompt and also stick to the bit.

omg i spent the whole day cleaning my entire apartment because my family was coming to visit and 1) so so so happy my adhd is being medicated now it's literally changing my life and 2) i FINALLLY got through to my dad about how he probably has ADHD too!!!!! he finally said Yeah i think i might have adhd. and my mom was like Me too (we've had this talk privately before, she knows she has adhd too lol) And my brother is literally transferring to a different school because he can't concentrate and isn't disciplined at his current uni. adhd family.

#literally thank goodness my brother was here to like Perfectly describe in real time what happens to adhd people when they go to college for #the first time. there's less structure and you fall apart. i used that as an opportunity.#i've slowly slowly slowly been chipping away at my Entire family btw. i've finally convinced my dad that medication is a GOOD THING.#i said You know. there's a lot in life that you feel like you Have to live with. but being on meds has made life so much easier and happier.#and that's when my dad finally said it.#:^) sometimes i like..... think about my family and how complicated i feel because growing up was super tough with all of them but now they #are all better people..... and i can't help but feel proud because as much as it is ABSOLUTELY great job for THEM for getting there But i #also feel uhhh partly responsible because i was constantly calling them out for shit. not always in the best way #but always standing up for others and challenging them on their worldviews and just casually talking about more liberal (as in free. not #politically) things. yes i do feel like if it wasn't for me my family would be worse people #i KNOW one of my brothers would be because he literally told me so. and it makes me happy. it is proof that my life is worthy and i have a #good impact on the world. it doesn't have to be a big thing i do to change things..... because i believe in the Ripple Effect #my dad is a teacher and he uses the proper pronouns for his trans students without complaint now. that has a good impact on SO many people #the trans students and their classmates who hear their teacher respect them. my brother is no longer homophobic he's bi lol and #if i hadn't argued with him about what bisexuality meant bc he was Wrong when i was 18 and he was 16... i wonder....#my younger sister is one of the nicest kids i've ever met and i partly raised her. it feels great to see her be such a good kid #her best friend is a trans girl and when she first came out my sister was one of two people in their class who still wanted to be #her friend.#idk. just inspires me to keep being the best person i can be & always do what's right even if it makes people mad #bc no one can hurt me as much as my family has traumatized me (lol) and look what happened to them!! i didn't give up! and i see real change

I will never in my life understand people who only watch Western TV shows.

Like even if it's just watching anime! Or whatever... please venture outside of your Anglo-European bubble.

#if you are wondering why i go as broad as western is because #i've never met anyone who only watches shows from their own country #like americans love british shows and will be happy to watch a canadian show if it actually breaks out (like schitt's creek+yellowjackets)#but there are just so many that don't beyond--- as i said--- anglo-european #which is why squid game actually was such a big deal??#because it wasn't just a hit #everyone watched that fucking show #(i do think that on the whole people in anglo countries are just fairly unlikely to watch shows not in english unfortunately---#--but the reason I went broader is because so many people from non-anglo western countries also only watch shows in their language+english

holding my tongue to keep my promise to myself to not engage with neverending chronic online discourse and failing whenever people tout that n is 100% canonically no doubt 20 in bw based on an off the cuff comment that was unclear where in the timeline it was referring to and hasn't been corroborated by anything before or since 2012

#text #'n has been confirmed 20 multiple times!!' after extensive searching the only other instance of that number being applied to him was in the #anime's episode n... which takes place two years after he met reshiram and separated from team plasma. ie it's during the equivalent of bw2 #not even going to get into the mc age because as i've said many times there are multiple sources to pull from with them.#and the game legit starts you out with them being told '[you'll go on your journey]... and become wonderful adults!'#n is right now in text during this current pokemon masters event being grouped in the same age group as hugh and the other rivals + protags #it's such a headache. i'll never understand why this is what gets all the attention when there are other canon supported ships with more-#ambiguity and people are making content for actually morally corrupt pairings. this is so vanilla #can we all go home now
