I remember encountering iaptbap a few years ago and thinking it was an interesting concept, but then dropping it after not really liking the writing style. I mean, I’m also a leftist who likes writing social justice ideas into my fics, but the way she went about it in her story felt so preachy and boring. The themes didn’t feel naturally woven into the narrative. Love interests felt flat and it seemed like they only existed to make the mc look better.
But I was like “different strokes different folks, not like she’s hurting anyone, as long as people are happy, there are way cringier fics out there” only to find out a few days ago while scrolling through tumblr that she had groomed a minor?? Which goes against so much of the character she’s made herself out to be? Especially since she was strict about keeping minors from reading her smut.
Sorry you had to deal with her plagiarism accusations and her ego. Hope you’re doing well
exactly! see, my issues with noor incorporating social commentary into her work isn't the politics themselves or their inclusion——again, i find stories, even bad ones, are better when they're about something——but rather her execution always falls flat.
it reminds me of greta gerwig's barbie——the film presents a very shallow and lite discussion of gender and feminism, and while i admire it for that alone, among its other good qualities, i disagree with critics who hail it as the pinnacle of feminist media. similarly, while i admire iaptbap's attempts to address many of society's faults, it does so with such an immature, condescending hand that i don’t think is deserving of praise.
i, as a queer blasian girl, already know of queerphobia and racism simply by living in a society that wants me dead. and if i wanted to further my education, i could simply pick up a nonfiction book or essay and conduct my own research. so, when it comes to media, literature, and storytelling, i don't want robotic perfect monologues to clap for; i want to feel something. i want emotion, passion, intellect. i want the author to use their art to connect with me, the audience. i don't want the author to have their main character turn directly to the audience and deliver the moral lesson, as if it's a kids' show.
i recently watched this video by withcindy about the faults with “reading for empathy” and performative activism, and one quote particularly caught my eye:
“[…] characters must exist for positive representation so that you can empathize for whatever group they represent, but ironically by having those characters be instruments or tools for good politics, and having them only exist for good politics, that also makes them not represented in their humanity.”
and it immediately reminded me of winter white. noor ended up quietly deleting this section later, but in her 9k raffle one-shot chapter, she revealed that winter was half chinese. based on how it was handled, she solely did this as an excuse to comment on bigotry against east asians. miriam asked it was like dating winter, and mc noted how she received some gross questions about "what it was like dating jungkook," and noor’s only other depiction of his ethnicity was that he used chinese skincare products.
it doesn’t feel like representation for the purpose of making chinese/mixed race readers to feel seen and loved within a popular character, but rather as a pretext to educate a white, ignorant audience about the evils of racism. it’s a depiction of asian trauma without ever depicting asian joy. and while it's good that she decided (presumably) on her own to remove this, this type of shoddy writing can be found everywhere in iaptbap. i don’t recall a single conversation in iaptbap which actually felt real, only exchanges meant to constantly educate me, which is doubly infuriating when i know about this stuff already.
and noor has the audacity to do all of this, then sidestep criticism by saying, "well, it's just a silly disney fanfiction in the end." you can't make me suffer through mc explaining sexual abuse terms like she's a living dictionary and clapping back against strawmen, then switch from iaptbap being an extension of your activism or a dark romance depending on which one gives the least amount of criticism. that’s not how that works. how no one called her out on her bullshit sooner genuinely boggles my mind
#i would love love love to have included a section about manga which i think handles their subject matter elegantly#but this ask would be way too long if so#but also. god please when i say things like ‘noor handles her subject matter poorly’ don’t immediately fret you’re doing the same#there /are/ ways of handling this in a mature manner and you can most certainly put in the research of doing so#and when i analyze and criticize a work i take into account behavior and intention along with the actual quality#cannot stress this enough i would not bash 12yos work the way i do with noor#i feel i have to mention this everytime i do this because god Some Of You Demand Validation From Strangers#and it’s awkward being put in that position#(not directed at anon just a general You)#⤷ 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙶𝙾𝚃 𝙼𝙰𝙸𝙻 ▸ inbox#its a pain to be a prince#lavenoor critical#iaptbap#quotev

Hey, so for the IAPTBAP fans who are currently mourning the fanfic because the writer is... shitty to put it nicely enough, I want to remind you all that Lavenoor wasn't the first to write a Disney genderbent fanfic, and won't be the last to write a Disney gender bent fanfic. the characters DON'T belong to her, they belong to Disney ffs. I encourage you all to rewrite the story, start it from scratch, and let's make a beautiful creation from it!
#it was genuinely insane that lavenoor kept saying that the WHOLE GENRE of gender bent Disney belonged to her#like no homegirl there were hundreds of Disney genderbent fanfics before you're not the first#quotev#lavenoor#yandere blog#yandere community#yandere x reader#iaptbap#its a pain to be a prince

Prefacing this post to say that I know Star in real life. I talk to them nearly every day, and we have talked about their experiences multiple times. Do not send me asks or messages asking about them. If you have anything you want to say to them, you can talk to them yourselves.
Stop using Star for your petty online arguments that you never asked them about. I'm not saying to bother them over every little thing; I'm saying to at least quit speculating on them, their feelings, etc. No one, except for one person, has bothered to ask them how they feel about anything.
Do not use "but the victim!" just to shut down criticism. Quit using their name as a gotcha. Quit assuming how they feel about your petty internet squabbles. If you have questions about them or how they feel about something, you can contact them yourself.
Also, the fact that people only ever call them "the victim" instead of saying their name speaks volumes.

Hello. I made this account to spread awareness on lavenoor. I don't want anyone to be harrassed; I made this to share my experience and shed light on what happened to me.
Warning for talk of grooming in the document.

I'm genuinely so disappointed as what Vio has ended up to be:( Her writing was so good, but there were so many flaws. Sad to say the ff she wrote was one of the few that actually kept me entertained. It saddens me that we will never get the ending we anticipated.
I looked up to her writing so much for the past 4 years, I've always viewed her with rose-tinted glasses—I am completely flabbergasted with what she did. I reread iaptbap, and I must say, there were so many weird things I brushed off (?) when reading. So much for Mc wanting to get consent from the princes first lmao
I never had expected her to be like that. It was utterly disgusting and disappointing. My heart goes out for the victim, lots of love for them for speaking out and spreading awareness. <3

NOOOOOOOO MY FAVORITE QUOTEV STORY GOT DELETED 😭😭😭
I am MOURNING at the loss of one extraordinary fanfiction about genderbend versions of Disney characters. (It's a guilty pleasure okay). And yes, I know that the author has the right to either continue their story or delete forever. But DAMN did it hurt when I find out that they deleted it.
Though, with that said, I really hope the author is doing well. They haven't been updating for a while now, and the last post on their account was something along the lines of med school, exams, and stressful life in general. Again, I just hope that life's been and will continue to be merciful towards them, they definitely need it.
SCRATCH THAT. I hope their choice of career is pointless and unforgiving to the point it sucks the passion to keep on living from them.
Update:
That was minutes BEFORE I found out that they were a groomer. For more context, refer to this link
Because I swear for the life of me, I cannot do it justice and explain it here. I'm horrible at that. Again, as the original poster of that link. Don't use this as an excuse to harass @lavenoor because 1.) That's dumb and 2.) you sort of can't now.

just heard about what noor did and i’m honestly… stunned?😭😭 i used to see her through EXTREMELY rose-tinted glasses, and now that i’m revisiting her work, i’m realizing how much weird stuff i completely brushed off. i remember being put off by certain things she wrote—some of the hypocrisy too—but i ignored those gut feelings because of the glorified image i had of her as a reader.
what baffles me even more is that she still hasn’t responded to the victim. how can you present yourself as this strong, morally-sound person online—constantly preaching good values—if you can’t even take accountability for your own actions? not even a public apology? and the way she treated other people’s work just for having a similar prompt, claiming it was unoriginal… like, where’s the fairness in that? that’s not integrity, that’s immaturity, hypocrisy, and ignorance.
i’ve been revisiting the iaptbap archives now that the rose-tinted glasses are off, and there’s so much i overlooked. the random s/a scenes, the way the princess mononoke arc was written, and more. i always felt a little creeped out by kano’s behavior too, especially since his movie counterpart was nothing like that. i’d like to revisit jadol and tao if anyone’s managed to save them, though it’s been a while so i barely remember anything.
i also want to say—my heart goes out to the victim. i can’t imagine how heavy and painful it must’ve been to come forward, especially against someone with a huge following and a carefully curated image. thank you for your courage. you are incredibly strong for speaking up, and you deserve nothing but support, healing, and peace. what happened to you should have never been brushed aside.
as someone who used to be a die-hard fan, someone who made fanart for her stories, someone who was genuinely inspired to write because of her—i mean it when i say this: let her works die. there’s no legacy worth preserving if it’s built on harm and silence.

I honestly can’t even begin to describe how disappointed and disgusted I am with the things that came to the light these past weeks. Noor would always talk about how she discourages explicit content in the hands of minors. When she herself was found to be a pedo along with writing scenes in her story It’s a pain to be a Prince that can be considered sa, just disappointing and so very frustrating when I started reading her stories around the age of 15 and looked up to her writing.

Came back to hate on that one fic i used to obsess over (i still obsess over it but now I'm just gonna rewrite the entire thing bc the author is allegedly a PEDOPHILE so.)

as much as i sympathize with the readers who’ve devoted their time to supporting iaptbap, i think it’s in poor taste to say you want the fic to continue.
think about it: who would write the story in lavenoor’s absence? someone who lavenoor gives the account to, a friend who has chosen to maintain contact with a groomer? not to mention how the victim would feel if their groomer's fic continues to receive love and attention despite the author telling a child she wanted to date them.
i’m urging everyone to please write your own fic. fuck the feelings of a groomer who didn’t apologize and ran away when she was outed — she does not own the concept of a yandere disney princess harem isekai. not like she can stop you from writing your own fic unless she decides to not be a coward and face what she did head-on. stop looking to her for content since i can promise that every single one of you can write something far superior to any slop that groomer put out. let iaptbap die and fuck lavenoor
#and i’m going to keep calling her a groomer with my full chest 🫶 fuck you we were all 17 once. we’ve all been traumatized#none of us wanted to date a MIDDLE SCHOOL CHILD#if what she did was defendable then she’d fucking defend it.#and yes i will write something later discussing how problematic iaptbap is because yeah. that fic has some weird content#⤷ ㅤ 𝚂𝙴𝙴 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙾𝙽𝙻𝙸𝙽𝙴 ▸ text messages#lavenoor#its a pain to be a prince#iaptbap

On the Topic of Harrassment
Posting once again to make it clear: I do not condone harrassment. I do not know who has been sending asks to random authors' inboxes asking them about Lavenoor. However, if by chance, they are reading this, I will ask them to please stop.
While I think it is inappropriate for people to assume I know who exactly is harrassing people, I am aware that some of my actions may have unintentionally enabled or caused it.
Back when I initially made the callout, I had tagged multiple people in it. I got the people I tagged from Lavenoor's following list, people in the IAPTBAP tag and people who interacted with her original response post.
I have since taken down the posts tagging others, but I would still like to apologize for how that could have potentially caused, or at least played a factor, in people being harrassed about what happened.
I tagged people, as I believed it would help more people be aware of what happened, and I wasn't thinking of the possible ramifications of doing so. I apologize to anyone who was, or even currently is, being harrassed due to my carelessness, and I hope the harrassment stops.
Once again: I'd like to say to whoever is sending people asks asking if they know about what happened, please stop. It's not helpful at all — no one is obligated to talk about what Noor did. I never wanted people to be harrassed "on my behalf."

Is Lavenoor ever gonna speak up about the whole situation or is she just going to keep trying to erase herself from the internet to hide from the shame?

hi, i read your take on how lavenoor completely butchered the point of princess mononoke. thank you for pointing it out, respect for criticizing her
it's weird she claimed the original movie to be "problematic" and refuses to elaborate? seems like she never watched the movie and just went off the general wiki and plot summary which don't contain any nuance. if you're going to claim one of the most iconic, beloved, thought-provoking studio ghibli movies is problematic, at least have some decency to explain it. i feel she just uses the word "problematic" as a buzzword and hopes her readers will agree
also if princess mononoke is indeed problematic, shouldn't there be a ton of video essays, forums etc discussing why it's problematic? shouldn't the japanase be the first ones criticizing the movie? honestly crazy how noor makes these baseless claims and never elaborates
noor claiming ashitaka to be bland is simply... wow. ashitaka is stoic and knows how and when to control his emotions. bro literally got banished from his village and takes it better than most people ever could. he is so strong emotionally, and noor mistakes his personality as "bland." just because he is calm, collected, and stoic does not mean he is bland. ashitka is the literal embodiment of a gigachad
regarding kaya: even the wiki get the facts wrong. sometimes she's referred to as ashitaka's sister, sometimes fiancée. i am pretty sure they are betrothed. no clue how lavenoor thought kaya was pregnant, i don't even think it was alluded to in the movie.
anyways sorry for my rant, it bugs me so much that noor missed the point of mononoke. it's such an L take and honestly really embarrassing
hope you have a nice day, just know that there are people who support you
I want to first say thank you for giving me this , I really appreciate it <3 I wanna answer all my inbox soon
I completely agree with you that if noor finds princess mononoke problematic she should've been specific which part she thinks it is and her calling ashitaka a bland mc is genuinely mind blowing to me at least
If anything sen character's feels more like a s3x appeal, like an oc if you wanna be specific. For example his height, San wasn't even that tall and wouldn't it make sense for sen to not be 6'8 instead close to San's height but taller , she has to be very agile not to mention sen's diet doesn't support his buff body.
Another thing I wanna say is bro never trust wiki for your information 😭!!

Everything about sen feels like he is appealing to the audience rather yk? Like Noor made him just so she can write a make out scene or smut scenes with him
Actually another thing I wanna add from my previous post is that it's ashame Kano's whole character is to be the stepping stone to make sen's character look " better " by default because he asked for consent.
We never even see the effects of Kano's attempt on mc.
Noor is so against writing non con yet is okay writing attempted non con ( for no reason btw Kano added nothing to the story )
This is so rushed I'm sorry
Thank you again everyone for reading and for your time I appreciate it
