Danger verse characters and their favorite super bowl show.
Firstly, our titular bitchular himself, Henry Hart:
Henry would say Bruno mars, but couldn't tell you anything about the performance other than "it's cool". He could be talking about the Coldplay show which both Beyoncé and Bruno mars were in, but he could also just really like the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
(Note: credit for titular bitchular goes to Athena P. Thanks for the notable quotable queen)
Next up, and needing financial compensation for This bullshit, Charlotte Page:
Charlotte's favorite performance is Prince, and she shouldn't have to explain herself on that, as it is one of of not the best halftime show ever. Beyoncé is a close second, as it is one of the only other ones she believes comes close.
Third, our lovable buckethead, Jasper Dunlop:
Jasper knows most all of the halftime shows, and it's a tie between Lady Gaga and Madonna for him, which somehow surprised some people thinking he'd say Katy Perry). He responds to those allegations with "fair, but she didn't impress me. Madonna and Lady Gaga impressed me. In both spectacle and singing."
Up next, Wait are you causing daddy issues? You're not even a father, Ray Manchester:
So I was thinking *NSYNC and Aerosmith, but then I remembered, and the answer is obvious. Ray's favorite halftime is Janet Jackson, and it's not just for the controversial part, surprisingly. But it does help it be the favorite. It definitely helps.
(Note: listen if you have no clue what I'm talking about, that's fair. The performer had a wardrobe malfunction and the nfl basically tore down her career after. Look it up.)
Next, sorry, you did fuckin what now?, Schwoz:
So unlike canon, I will be kind-ish to schwoz, and say his favorite is The blues brothers(and he likes the movie too), and he likes the aged rockers era. Source: schwoz's outfit in the bttf ripoff.
Behold, our iconic queen: Piper Hart
Beyoncé, easy. No one may speak to her when Beyoncé's performance at the super dome is playing. And I'd be remiss not to mention that Piper was foaming at the mouth over Rihanna's performance. But it doesn't beat Beyoncé.
Disclaimer: I've watched 5 episodes of danger force max. I love the four kids' vibes but can't find the episodes anywhere. So with that said,Its time to go into unknown territory:
Wow this girl's more scrambled than my scrambled fucking eggs, Mika Macklin:
Shakira & J. Lo. I feel like Mika's really likes Spanish music(I dunno she just gives me that vibe), and the vibes of the shakira & j lo show is just a bunch of fun and I think that's what draws her to it.
Ah yes the boy, Bose o'Brian. I have no other way to describe him:
Listen, Left Shark who forgot their choreography resonates with Bose. Also the amount of brightly colored spectacle and "I forgot Katy Perry did that in the show." seems very Bose to me.
Up next, the one I feel like I know the least about, Miles Macklin:
so miles feels like he'd take the easiest answer that takes little to no explanation. So I think it'd be the hip-hop medley with dr. Dre & co, bc all you really need to know is that it was about damn time.
Wait, this isn't my snarky lesbian bff? Fr?, Chapa de Silva:
I was tempted to say that Chapa doesn't care about super bowl halftimes, but that's quitter talk. Her favorite is Bruce Springsteen, and she will sometimes quote it when fighting or after a fight and no one knows why bolt is talking about guacamole. but if it's 3am and she wants to watch something stupid, Chapa would watch the Indiana Jones show(yes that exists and it's as bad as you think it is).

Favorite Books of 2022📚
I had so much fun doing this for 2021–so I’m back at it with a list of my favorite books of 2022!
I’m not going to lie to you, I didn’t have a great reading year. I read significantly less than last year and a lot more mindless books since this year I was overwhelmed with graduating law school, taking (and passing!!!) the bar exam, and starting a full time job at a busy (but amazing) law firm. BUT I did find some diamonds in the rough:
Without further ado, the 5 books I read this year that I would ABSOLUTELY recommend under the cut:
5. The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson
Tumblr media
a bunch of sociopaths cross paths and the result is lots of murder
the characters were all amoral and all SO INTERESTING
i weirdly have a crush on the MC. i want whatever she wants, even if that’s blood on her hands. like i don’t care how many people she’s killed she’s hot
lots of twists and turns you don’t see coming. the one halfway through the book absolutely FLOORED me
lots of really good Plotting from literally every character
the improbability of some of the coincidences is made real by the authenticity of the characters. like (hopefully) no one actually relates to them but you get them and why they’re so amoral
the last line took my breath away
read when you wanna believe you could get away with murder
4. The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen
Tumblr media
fantasy You’ve Got Mail with a sunshine undertaker and a grumpy demi-god
enemies to lovers!!! you know that I’m always here for that
Hart is so fucking morose that I physically cannot. King of angst. He’s so lonely and prickly but also a sweetheart
Mercy has got true eldest daughter syndrome and I, for one, get it
the relationship progression was perfection!!! the book keeps the tension really really well
the cafe scene was so heart-breaking. you will get that lurching feeling in your gut when you read it
I actually loved all the side plots. there’s a LOT going on in this book but it all weaves together really well
there’s this interesting juxtaposition between a kinda terrifying world and the mundane reality of small-town life. it’s weirdly heavy and light-hearted at the same time???
this book is doing a lot but i loved everything it did
read when you want your small town romance to have a bit of blood & magic in it
3. Delilah Green Doesn’t Care by Ashley Herring Blake
Tumblr media
two women pretend casual will work for them. however, they are absolutely useless sapphics. so you know where this is going
Delilah is honestly a whole fucking mood. queen of peaking AFTER high school
Claire is a sweet angel. I would have fallen in love with her too tbh
honestly i would kill for Delilah’s experience of having her step-sister (who she hates)’s best friend unknowingly hitting on her in the bar and not recognizing her. it’s icon moves
but seriously Claire and Delilah are adorable. and hot
my parents were having a party while i was upstairs in my bedroom listening to this audiobook. I was washing my face in the bathroom hallway listening to a SEX SCENE, and a 50 year old woman came up to use my bathroom. i cannot describe in words what we felt in that moment.
despite that mortifying context, the sex scenes were passionate and hot and well-written
there’s really good girl group representation here that i’m super into. the friendship is just as strong as the romance here, which I LOVE
i haven’t gotten to book 2 yet but this is gunna be a sapphic trilogy!! gods bless
read when you wanna feel sapphic euphoria
2. Book Lovers by Emily Henry
Tumblr media
two colleagues who previously disliked one another keep running into each other in the small town they’re in for the summer and find out they’re actually the same person
the prologue is so hilarious and genius and well-written that i knew instantly this book would be a favorite of the year
Nora is the Hallmark Christmas Movie Villain Girlfriend. The foil to the doe-eyed, small town girl that always gets the guy. She’s the one who keeps getting DUMPED by that guy. And honestly? I’ve ALWAYS related more to that girl. Seeing her get her happy ending is what I needed for my own career driven, type A soul
Charlie is a brooding book lover. Need I say more? (I was in love within 50 pages)
childfree rep!!! not at all common in romance books, and i love to see it
miscommunication actually well-done. it all feels reasonable given the circumstances  and doesn’t make you want to punch them. rare
i really, really enjoy Emily Henry’s adult romances. they’ve just got a depth to them that romances can easily lack. and her Emily  metaphors REALLY get me. she’s an instant-tbr author for me now
read when you want to feel the mortifying ordeal of being known
1. Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales
Tumblr media
A bisexual disaster goes on a reality television show to re-date her ex in order to destroy him, but ends up falling in love with her ex-boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend
John Tucker Must Die but make it sapphic
A little bit of Charm Offensive vibes (which was a 2021 top favorite!)
Maya’s revenge plot is so fucking poorly planned but hilarious
Skye’s mommy issues and refusal to open herself hit a little too close to home but in the best way
Jordy is such a perfect awful ex. It was so much fun to pray on his downfall
Isaac is my hero. I will not elaborate if you know you know
After Perfect on Paper, I knew Sophie could write GOOD bisexual rep. This book confirms that she knows what she’s about — she gave me not ONE but TWO amazing bisexuals.
Reading this will make you laugh and blush and blast Taylor Swift songs on repeat
Read when you wanna light your ex’s house on fire and then make out at red lights with a hot girl in the getaway car
And that's the best five out of the 110 books I read. See you in 2023 (hopefully with a top ten!) Cheers to another year of reading too much!

What are some of your favourite movies?
Thank you for the ask! (Don't take the numbers too seriously)
Midnight Cowboy (1969), dir. John Schlesinger - Joe Buck the Texan dishwasher goes to New York to hustle women but falls for the little scammer Rico Rizzo who offers him a place to stay when he in record-speed becomes homeless.
A New Leaf (1971), dir. Elaine May - Henry Graham, a rich man who has been living a very unsustainable lifestyle, is now broke. He wants to find a wife, kill her and then inheret her wealth. He ends up with Henrietta, a rich, family-less, botanist who is also a big clutz. ROMANCE.
Gilda (1946), dir. Charles Vidor - Johnny Farrell (bad bi rep) goes to Argentina and gets rescued from being mugged by the casino owner and tungston cartel boss Ballin Mundson, and starts working for him. One day Ballin has found himself an American wife, Gilda. Surprise, surprise. She's Johnny's ex. Drama. Amazing. Women's rights, as Johnny and Ballin are peak misogynistic.
The Roaring Twenties (1939), dir. Raoul Walsh - Eddie Bartlett returns home from the war and its rough being a veteran. He ends up working for the mob and then teams up with George Hally (who is >:)) and they go right to the top. There's like a love-gemoetrical shape. Jean Sherman, a performer, likes Lloyd Hart (friend of Eddie who works for him) but Eddie wants Jean. The singer Panama Smith yearns for Eddie. George and Eddie are married and divorced at the same time. Amazing. Love it.
Deadhead Miles (1972), dir. Vernon Zimmerman - Alan Arkin and Paul Benedict drive a truck. That's it. The music is great. The dialogue is interesting.
Harvey (1950), dir. Henry Koster - Elwood P. Dowd, a pleasant man living with his sister, has an invisible rabbit friend. People think he is mentally unwell, and his sister wants him put away. Pleasantness prevails! Long live kindness!
3:10 to Yuma (1957), dir. Delmer Daves - Dan Evans must regain his fatherly masculinity, he thinks, after his sons see him willingly hand their horses over to Ben Wade and his gang of outlaws etc etc. Because there's a drought, the Evans family also needs cash (for their little ranch), and so Dan agrees to help get Ben to prison in Yuma, aka. on the 3:10 train to Yuma. In Contention City, Dan and Ben are in the bridal suite, and Ben being a slut temptress tries to bribe Dan with cash into letting him go while >:) on the bridal bed. Amazing. Iconic.
The Wicker Man (1973), dir. Robin Hardy - Police sergeant Neil Howie goes to Summerisle to find the missing girl Rowan. Everybody there are unchristian sluts to Howie's horror. Unbeknownst to him, he is a fool. Very good.
Real Life (1979), dir. Albert Brooks - A fictional version of Albert Brooks wants to make a movie about real life! He gets himself a family and some scientists to study this thing. The problem is that Brooks is not completely stable and well... what is 'real life' on camera. Amazing! Love it!
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), dir. Philip Kaufman - Aliens are taking over and look just like us. Donald Sutherland and Brooke Adams are so <333333. If you've not seen it, it's kind of fun having seen the 1958 version first (the book isn't all that) so you get the little thing about the man running around all :'0. And, it's a good movie. Both are good.
I have many more. These are the ones I remember now :))) Thank you again :)))

finished henry danger, finally! i loved it so much. henry danger is possibly one of nick's best (live action) shows of the new generation—if not the best.
like there are so many things about the show that i loved. from the continuity, the character's habits, character relationships (justice for chenry!!! but at the same time, i'm glad they kept it all platonic), the subtle progression of time, and a lot of other subtle details that built up over the course of the seasons and truly came to fruition in the final season.
like how we see henry in school less, and how he made a comment about not knowing where kid danger ends and henry hart begins which all culminates into the series finale delimma of him not graduating with his peers—and even his younger sister—because he's dedicated so much of his life to being kid danger.
speaking of the finale: it was literally so iconic and i can only imagine how gagged it would've made me if i grew up with the show tbh like i loved the tension that came in from all directions, it was so good.
and nooooooow, i'm starting danger force!! i'm so excited, they're the reason i started watching henry danger in the first place.
no comments so far because i literally just started S1E1, but i honestly adore these kids so much. i think they're so cute and funny in their own right.
it really annoys me how often i've seen people discrediting this show. like i get it, you know. as i've said, henry danger was surprisingly a really good show, but i hate when people always try to compare sequels/spin-offs with their predecessor.
especially in this case. of course danger force isn't going to be the same, and the cast isn't going to have the same vibe as in henry danger.
with henry, ray was extremely immature and irresponsible, and it's quite literally how/why part of the finale went the way it did. we even see henry somewhat grow out of ray's antics with how he became increasingly frustrated/exasperated with ray at times.
so with the danger force kids, it makes sense that ray is a bit more serious about taking care of these kids and actually putting an effort into being a mentor to them.
of course he isn't perfect, considering they got him a "ray-by sitter" (aka henry lmao). and of course he still prefers to have the company of henry, who he literally spent almost a decade with in canon. their dynamics aren't really comparable.
anyways, enough of that little rant. i'm so excited to get to know the danger force kiddies and see what hijinks they get up to.
i really hope they have at least one more season, and i hope riele & sean make an appearance alongside henry......i also wouldn't mind if they teased chenry again.....it'd be fun to see the kids tease them about it. it'd also be fun to see chenry tease bomika (yes, i have already been converted even though i barely know these kids lmao).

Hart and Hunter - Chapter 7 - Part 2
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Dane Hunter
Chloe Foley is the accidental head of the local Shifter clan.
She'd grown up with no clue she had such connections and had come to Spring Lakes in search of a father she'd never met.
Through no fault of her own, the reunion had sent her father, Henry Foley, on a killing spree, with Julian as the ultimate target.
After Henry's death, Chloe inherited a sizeable chunk of land and a boatload of strange responsibilities.
She'd proven adaptable and resilient and despite her quiet nature, was a strong and level-headed leader, so when Julian, Ingrid and I join her and her girlfriend, Grace, for dinner the next day, I tell her about our disappearing body problem.
"Any chance there's a Shifter involved?" I ask, helping myself to more chili and another corn muffin.
"It certainly sounds that way," Chloe says, blinking wide, blue eyes at me.
Like the rest of her family, she has bright red hair and freckles.
"I didn't know Lagrange but I can ask around and Grace can check the database."
"Database?" Julian asks.
Grace, his longtime best friend, grins.
She has short black hair, dark brown skin and a movie-star face.
She's not a Shifter or anything unusual, herself but she is a librarian.
"I'm building it," she says.
"Maybe in the old days, clan leaders could keep all the information in their heads... who's who and who's what and so on but the population's too big now. We need modern solutions to modern problems."
"Isn't that dangerous?" Ingrid asks.
"What if someone hacked it?"
Grace shrugs.
"It's double encrypted, password protected and stored on a hard-drive on a computer that isn't connected to the Internet. It's safer than your bank account and probably safer than information stored in your own head... the computer won't forget or recall things incorrectly. Here... I'll show you."
Grace rises and beckons and the rest of us follow her from the dining area and through the living room of the large farmhouse she shares with Chloe.
She leads us down the hall to a home office and game room.
Grabbing a laptop from a shelf by her desk, she plops down in the center of the old couch before a TV and game console and lifts the lid.
"First level of protection," she says and enters a lengthy password to sign in.
When the desktop loads, she clicks an icon and enters another password in a pop-up box.
"And second."
A window opens, revealing a bare-bones database interface, with a search box and a few options for parameters.
"Alright. Lagrange..." Grace types in the name and hits the enter key.
"No results. What else should I try?"
We run through a few variations and the names of the other shop owners but turn up nothing.
"Oh, well," Grace sighs.
"It's still a work-in-progress."
"I doubt that's the problem," I say.
"Even the police hardly turned up more."
Chloe nods.
"You can only collect information if it's available. It's tradition for Shifters to make themselves known to the clan leader but not all abide by tradition."
Grace gives her girlfriend an encouraging smile.
"We'll keep working on it," she promises.
"We'll let you know what we find."
********
The morning of Lagrange's funeral dawns bright and clear.
The publicly posted notice included an open invitation to anyone who knew him and wished to pay respects, so Julian and I dress up in black and drive across town to the cemetery with the hope we'll find some new leads among the other attendees.
As we walk up the sloping grass towards the small gathering of mourners, two approaching figures move to intercept.
One I recognize as Detective Monica Vasquez... a level-headed detective I'd worked with a few times in the past.
The other I assume is Detective Rian Halloran.
"Vasquez. It's been a minute," I say, extending my hand.
She takes it in a firm grip and a warm, genuine grin lights her face.
"Hunter... I've missed you in the gym. No one else can keep up with my sets."
I laugh, remembering how we used to team up and spot one another on the weights.
Monica lifts competitively and it shows.
Short and stocky, with long black hair she wears in a braided bun, she has high cheekbones, sparkling black eyes, bronze-toned skin and a wide, white smile.
She turns this on Julian next, eyes lit with good-natured humor.
"And Hart. How's the psychic business?"
Julian doesn't answer and when I glance over at him, I see he's staring at Vasquez's companion with an expression of ill-concealed shock.
I look the man over again, wondering if I've missed something but I don't recognize him.
He's blandly handsome, with blue eyes, dark hair, fair skin and a more expensive style than a detective's salary typically allows.
Other than that, though, he's unremarkable.
"Detective Rian Halloran," he says, extending a strong, well-manicured hand towards Julian with a sparkling smile.
"A pleasure."

The most unrealistic thing about the end of Henry danger is when Ray is like, 'dudes I just realize I could've asked Piper to be my new sidekick' and the rest of the gang shakes their heads and were like, 'nah, she wouldn't do it.'
THAT'S DEAD WRONG.
Homegirl would've taken the job in a second.
For example, she repeatedly tried to get Ray to hire her after she found out and - AND followed Henry as Kid Danger to a fight, then tried to beat them in her make shift costume. (Among all the other ppl she casually assaulted prior to finding out)
This is a hill I'm willing to die on.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

I can see Piper being a psychologist in the children’s behavioral health ward in Swellview hospital and when Henry asks her why, she’s like “because been there, done that.”
And then Henry’s like “done?”
And then she literally kicks him out.
