i have a headcanon that when marco was a child on whitebeard's ship, he'd secretly hide under whitebeard's desk when he got scared or overwhelmed. because a big man must have a big desk, and that makes the perfect alcove for a kid to feel safe. when whitebeard eventually notices, he just laughs and accepts it, and makes sure to keep the door unlocked for his son.
after marco grows up, he stops doing that and it fades into a fond story he might occasionally share (especially if drunk)...until after marineford and he finds himself under there again 🫠

Idk I haven’t played soj in a while but do u think like. rayfa has heard of klavier. Like, she knows of him or is vaguely aware of who he is. Klavier seems pretty internationally famous considering his collab w/ Borginians n Europop persona n stuff. Maybe he’s visited khura’in. Has capcom said that he hasn’t??? I doubt it. Imagine Rayfa has heard of him in passing or smth but doesn’t rly care but then hears that her stupid brother and stupid horn head (who is kinda also her brother? it’s complicated) knows this internationally famous guy and she like, sneaks online somehow and googles this guy and watches his shit and she… doesn’t hate it. Maybe she listens to another song. And another. And she’s already here so she might as well listen to the whole album and maybe the next one and
Anyway my point is rayfa should be a gavinners stan

Got really hooked on learning bits of history surrounding the DCAU (BTAS, STAS, JL, JLU, Batman Beyond, that timeline) so here's some fun trivia:
Superman's design flip flops between STAS, Justice League s1, and Justice League s2 despite being in the same timeline due to the team wanting to make him look more like Curt Swan's Superman style- They ended up changing it back to a more STAS look in JL s2 for animators to stay on model easier (some animators accidentally drew his eye lines to look like eyebags instead? lmao?)- Same reason for Wonder Woman's cheekbones disappearing in s2
The Batman Beyond movie's uncensored/original version is somehow more easily accessible than the censored version? (I dunno maybe it was common knowledge, I always thought the opposite tho)- Also kinda funny to me how the censored version's death scene is almost (or more? Depends on pov ig) just as brutal as the og scene?????
Holy crap Paul Dini has written on so many things?? Lead writer for BTAS, the first 2 Arkham games, STAS, etc.? Plus also wrote on G1 Transformers and the Clone Wars??? And like a whole heck of a lot other stuff including comics and animated movies?????
Barry Allen's existence within the DCAU is apparently up to heavy contention bc turns out a ton of "DCAU" comics and outside of show media usually ends up contradicting canon? And are therefore not canon??
Apparently Riddler's hair kinda grows back post-TNBA (Forgot if the comic was canon or not tho) + according to a toy sale thingy, ig he opens up a men's fashion store with Mad Hatter????
The reason for Scarecrow's costume change between BTAS and TNBA was shown in a DC x IDW Batman x TMNT crossover

One of Susanoo's favorite stories to tell is of his first meeting with Susabi. Ask him, and he will smile faintly, while Susabi will exhale a little too loudly--both reactions foreshadowing the tale to come.
You see, young Susabi was reluctant to become Susanoo's advisor. He didn't want to leave his familiar, beloved Moon Sea for such a long period, and he absolutely didn't want to leave it to join the army.
But his master willed it. Not just because God-Empress Amaterasu ordered it, but because Tsukuyomi didn't trust Susanoo. They needed someone they could trust dogging his every move. Susabi trusted his master and his master's guidance; if Tsukuyomi had misgivings about Susanoo, then there must be basis.
Up until this point, Susabi had never met Susanoo. Our young advisor-to-be was shy and quiet, preferring the serene solitude of the Moon Sea to the solemn emptiness of Takamagahara's great halls. As such, he was ignorant of many things, but he still somewhat knew of Susanoo's vicious, cruel reputation. Tsukuyomi's warnings lent further weight to the war god's savage tyranny. So Susabi must go to aid his master and protect Takamagahara.
By this time, the Divine Army had already been deployed to the Mortal Realm to begin their counter offensive against the Evil Gods. There was no ceremony upon Susabi's arrival at the main camp; Susanoo was not even present to greet him. This discourtesy was not lost on the observant Susabi, who now began to understand the underlying politics at play.
A young adjutant did eventually come to where Susabi had been ordered to wait, bringing tea and refreshments the adjutant had made that were unique to the Mortal Realm. This adjutant tried his best to make Susabi comfortable, but Susabi, finding his negative bias reinforced, responded coolly. It was all a bit awkward.
Time passed in an excruciating crawl as they sat there across from each other. No God General Susanoo. Despite the hospitality of the polite adjutant, the continued absence of Susanoo made it clear that Tsukuyomi was right: Susabi--or rather, the oversight of Takamagahara--was not welcome.
Finally, unable to dance around the subject any longer, Susabi disregarded all etiquette and demanded ("Inquired," Susabi wearily corrects--the one time he'll speak up during this recollection) as to the whereabouts of the God General.
Susabi only received a long, uncomfortable stare in reply. Recognizing his own rudeness and understanding that the adjutant likely feared his superior, Susabi drank long from his tea to avoid any further embarrassment.
After a moment though, the adjutant blinked slowly, as if finally realizing something.
"Ah." For now, the adjutant's soft, matter-of-fact voice held none of the amusement that would color it in retellings of the tale. "I see there's a misunderstanding. I'm Susanoo."
It was either choke on the tea or spit it out, and Susabi unfortunately chose to do the latter all over the God General he had been sent to serve.
A millennium later, Susanoo still enjoys recalling this indiscretion, because a millennium later, Susabi is still embarrassed by it.

I'm extremely unfair to Remus on this blog, the truth is fanon remus is personally offensive to me on many levels so I'm loath to give him protagonism of any kind lol. But that's not fair at all to a character that actually, when all's said and done, I do love. perhaps the marauder I'm least interested in (lol) but he still rates high on my list of fave hp characters and I honestly find him a very pleasant perspective to write from. he's just like some guy. his big crime is negligence/avoidance and I love that for him. to be honest I think his position is a difficult one to fully understand, he is a character that I'm able to muster up a lot of empathy for because of that. like can any of us irl understand what it's like to turn into a literal monster every month since childhood, the point-blank rejection and hatred from society, and what effect that might have on someone's psyche? it's interesting!!!
moony's worst hits, lets go:
remus tolerating the marauders' bullying: obv this was wrong. he was the only one who recognised it was wrong, and he tolerated it. he 'made them feel ashamed of themselves' sometimes per sirius, but honestly I can understand why he never spoke up. I don't think we should underestimate how rare the marauders' tolerance, not only tolerance but the lengths they went to to help remus with his condition was. for a teenager? I can only imagine how that must have felt tbh. he likely thought that he barely deserved their friendship and loyalty and that he was lucky to have it so why would he do anything to ruin that
remus not telling anyone about sirius being an animagus: bad lol, his worst moment probably. again, though, I can understand it even though I don't justify it. the trust dumbledore had placed in him, first to accept him at hogwarts and then again as a professor (we know how difficult it is for werewolves to find employment of any kind) and he just couldn't face betraying that trust. Luckily for Remus it turned out ok but it is kind of insane that he didn't tell dumbledore tbh.
remus not writing to harry: idc about this personally lol but to me it ties into remus's inferiority complex. he doesnt, and will never, see himself as anything like a father figure to harry the way sirius does. he barely sees himself as a worthy father to his own kid let alone the complex case that is harry. is that unfair to harry and unempathetic? yeah probs but also it makes sense to me even beyond the reason Remus gives in canon for not writing. He put Harry in terrible danger in PoA and given Remus's self-hatred he probably feels guilty about that lol.
walking out on Tonks: his other worst hit. But I can understand him, even though I think Harry was 100% right to tell him off. Again we've got this man's crippling inferiority complex, from what he says he thinks he's a burden and a curse to both Tonks and Teddy-- and you know what, society isn't exactly contradicting this belief. Obviously Tonks doesn't agree and that should be all that matters, but sometimes it doesn't seem that way. There's avoidance here (Remus's big flaw) and I legit think he thought he was doing Tonks a favour by disappearing on some quest with Harry and likely dying in the process. Interesting stuff but also very sad.
all this to say, I don't believe in "defending" characters, just understanding them, and even though I barely post about him I do find Remus very interesting, worthy of empathy in many ways. I'll admit the werewolf thing leads me to give him more of a pass than other characters just because I find that so horrible lol and feel so sorry for him but anyway. a good character in my opinion.
